Titus Andronicus By William Shakespeare
The play Titus Andronicus by William Shakespeare depicts the Roman Empire from a very traditional
perspective within each of the characters. Shakespeare creates a visual of historical Rome that
includes many blood battles, deception, courage and loyalty not just to Rome and her people, but to
one s family. By doing this, Shakespeare shows the reader that Rome was a great city of power that
revolved around the idea that justice must be of an equivalent manner suitable to the crime committed
by the other party. The word Rome , both historically and in modern times, is often defined as being
the perfect model for an advanced civilization, and many looked upon Rome and Romans as being
examples of excellence for architecture and political advances within a society . ( Rome , OED
Online). The word Rome is seen frequently throughout the play and is used by almost all of the
characters. It is a word that describes what Roman civilization entails and how the city of Rome can
be a very dark and cruel city. The Roman characters in particular describe the two main concepts of
Rome and Roman by means of traditional birth right and traditional forms of justice. Both meanings
are seen frequently amongst each Roman character. By fully understanding why particular events in
the play occur and being able to see the traditional aspects of the word Rome among each character, it
aids the reader in understanding how the play revolves around the historical context of Roman values

The Chinese Room Argument
While proponents of strong AI believe that machines are capable of imitating human consciousness so
well that it might be perceived as actually obtaining consciousness, others such as John Searle believe
otherwise. Another logical stance on the question is accepting that machines are able to behave as
though it has a conscious mind physically, but also arguing that machines will never be able to possess
this consciousness as though a human would. This second type of viewpoint is considered Weak
Artificial Intelligence, otherwise known as narrow artificial intelligence. Weak AI is acknowledging
that machines can simulate consciousness computationally, but that is different from actually
obtaining consciousness.
One of the most widely known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Searle believed that simply manipulating symbols will not ensure computers are able to think or
understand, in other words, knowing syntax does not mean understanding the semantics, and function
does not mean understanding.
There are of course many criticisms of Searle s Chinese Room Argument, the main ones include the
Systems Reply, the Robot Reply, the Brain Simulator Reply, the Other Minds Reply, and the Intuition
Reply.
In Searle s Chinese Room Argument, the person inside the room is defined as not able to understand
Chinese. But in response to that, the Systems Reply brings up the point that while the person might
not know any Chinese, the system as a whole understands Chinese. The Virtual Mind Reply is similar
to the Systems Reply in that the person inside the room might not understand Chinese by him or
herself. But Virtual Mind Reply questions whether understanding is created or not. While the person
in the room might not have any knowledge of Chinese at the beginning, running the system might
create an agent that does have understanding of Chinese. The Robot Reply, while accepting that the
person in the room might not understand Chinese or the computer in the room does not understand a
particular language, suggests that giving a computer a body would mean something different for the
computer. Being able to interact with the environment using sensors might enable the computer to
learn. The Brain Simulator Reply suggests to consider the program being

Prosthetics During The Civil War
Prosthetics has always been part of most of our history, and it has come a long way since then. Forms
of prosthetics date way back to the Civil War, and has made a lot of progress throughout the years.
During the Civil War, many soldiers would have to be amputated everyday to save their lives. For
example, in the text I Will Not Get Out of Heart Yet, it states that Soldiers shot in the arm or leg on the
battlefield were highly likely to develop potentially fatal infections, and the only way to prevent a
painful death was to cut off the damaged body part. Despite this fact, prosthetics were extremely
uncomfortable to wear and were considered crude contraptions and were usually made of wood or
steel that were awkward and painful to wear. Many soldiers did not like having prosthetic limbs, as
they were uncomfortable to wear and awkward to move around with. ... Show more content on

Lexi had to go through nine surgeries and she had lost her leg. Lexi had to be fitted with her own
prosthetic leg, and she would face many struggles while doing simple activities, like standing,
walking, and running. According to the article, Lexi Youngberg: Invincible, it states that The
prosthetic leg is waterproof, so Lexi can hit the waves whenever she wants. (Neville, 8) It also states
that Lexi has several types of legs: one for swimming, showering, and wakeboarding, and an activity
leg for daily wear and playing soccer. (Neville, 8) This means that prosthetics nowadays have the
ability to be waterproof, so that owners can feel more normal, and they can feel more connected with
others. The second quote tells you that prosthetics nowadays offers many varieties in limbs. One
person can have multiple limbs for different tasks, like, Lexi has two different legs for swimming and
playing soccer. The foot has to be different because it can t move on its own, and it has to be

Edmund Spenser Research Paper
Edmund Spenser was born into a relatively poor family in East Smithfield, London, England in 1552
(there remains a degree of ambiguity to the exact date of his birth). This information is acquired from
sonnet lx. in the Amoretti where he speaks of having lived 41 years, as of 1595. Although he was
related to an affluent and noble Midlands family of Spencer, his own immediate family was not
particularly wealthy. There also remains some ambiguity to the specificities of Spenser s childhood,
though it is known that he was entered as a poor boy in the Merchant Taylor s grammar school, where
he studied primarily Latin, with specks of Hebrew, Greek, and music thrown in sporadically. Edmund
Spenser began his illustrious writing career as early as 16, as there are poems of his found in a
miscellany, by the name of Theatre for Worldlings, that are accredited to being ... Show more content

This expansive knowledge of the traditional forms and themes of lyrical and narrative poetry offered
sufficient foundations for the formulation of his own highly original compositions. Without the study
of the Roman epic poet Virgil s Aeneid, the 15th century Ludovico Ariosto s Orlando furioso, and,
later, Torquato Tasso s Gerusalemme liberate, Spenser would not of been able to create his heroic, or
epic, poem The Faerie Queene. Without Virgil s Bucolics, and the later tradition of pastoral poetry in
Italy and France, Spenser would not have came up with and written the The Shepheardes Calender.
Lastly, without the Latin, Italian, and French examples of the highly traditional marriage ode and the
sonnet and canzone forms of Petrarch and succeeding sonneteers, Spenser could not have written his
most notable lyric, Epithalamion, and its accompanying sonnets,

Limitations Of Wireless Communication
INTRODUCTION
There are lots of challenges occurs for reliable wireless communication which occurs due to physical
limitations of the wireless medium. There has been massive growth occurs in wireless communication
which is due to the techniques that improves spectral efficiency and mitigate various channel
impairments such as fading and interference. Moreover there is always demand for high speed
wireless internet and technologies which are capable of providing higher capacities and link
reliabilities. Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) is based on communication system which is able
to fulfil these objectives. MIMO is an expansion of smart antennas systems. There were traditional
smart antennas which occupy multiple antennas at receiver, whereas In MIMO system multiple
antennas are engaged at both sides at transmitter as well as receiver side. The multiple antennas at the
transmitter and the receiver side provide a major advantage over traditional smart antenna systems in
terms of capacity and diversity advantage. The multipath propagation by MIMO system is a
remarkably advantage over other antennas system. Moreover it is able to provide independent fading
channels between every pair of transmitter and receiver antennas.
The rapid improvement in communication system with high data rates and improved channel capacity
has pondered towards the study of both theoretical and practical in wireless communication systems.
Wireless communication system has made great effort to

Suspense In The Tell-Tale Heart By Edgar Allan Poe
My intrest of this story, was raised by the suspense and the tension throughout the story, not to
mention the blood and awe that builds the story slowly and then picks up the pace to the climax,
where the narrator raves to the police and cannot hide his crime anymore. I imagine, that i m in an
apartment with a nasty sense and with dark wood panelling and flooring. The furniture is musty or
dusty. This literary work left me both terrified and disgusted. I could not believe that a human being
could kill another person with such malice and for seemingly no reason. The part where the unnamed
character cuts up the old man s body and then shoves him under the floorboards, produced images in
my head that made it very hard for me to sleep that night! I think the unnamed character is a sociopath
because he killed the old man because of his eye. He even goes so far as to say in the ... Show more

The unnamed character who confesses to murder right since the beginning, it gets the audience to
wonder why he is mad, it is a great hook to get people interested. The description of the ugly eye,
waiting in the dark, the horror of the old man, the audacity of placing the police right above the dead
body, the beating heart, the ringing in his ear and the gushing confession are all so suspenseful, and
intense. Another reason that it is still widely read today is that it is relatively short and easy to
understand. People normally get tired of books with too many hard words, so they put it down but in
this story there aren t as many hard words and it The last reason is that it is still widely read today, is
because people now a days love that adrenaline rush, they read and watch horror/suspense movies just

Supply Chain:
Supply chains represent the procurement, production and distribution activities of an organisation.
Within a supply chain, these activities are viewed as linked and reliant on one another to produce the
final outcome. It is believed that if one component of the chain fails, the whole chain is broken and
product/service delivery goals will not be achieved.

Comparing Sonny s Blues And The Fire Next Time
James Baldwin s works, both Sonny s Blues and The Fire Next Time, weave the themes of black
identity, family , and religion more elegantly than I have ever witnessed by any other writer. When
reading The Fire Next Time readers witness the disharmony and miscommunication that wedges itself
between a father and son. Baldwin, a teenager at the time, acts as many teenagers do, hoping to find
various ways to spite his father first by joining a church and becoming saved, but not his father s
church; then by insulting his father s beliefs and rules by inviting a non christian into the family home,
although he already anticipates his father s reaction to such an act; and finally by joining the pulpit,
although he is not a true believer. Baldwin

Jules Jacobson
This week I did something I have never done before. I DNFed a book. That s right I have decided I
will never finish this book.
You might be asking. Is this really the first time? As far back as I can remember this is the first time.
Now I have in the past put a book to the side for say a year or two. Always with the intention that I
will finish it one day and so far I have been finishing them.
This time, I just can t bring myself to finish it. What is this book? you might ask and the book is The
Interesting s by Meg Wolitzer.
What is the reason behind the decision. The fact is, its the protagonist, Jules Jacobson. I just can t
stand that character. Page after page (or in the case it ended up being hour after hour of the audiobook)
she just got more and more on my nerves. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I enjoyed her writing style over all. I enjoyed every other character in the book but there was never
enough time away from Jules Jacobson. I love the plot. I really wish I could go on so I can see what
happens with the characters but even when I skipped to the end of the book, Jules was still behaving in
a way that I just couldn t stand.
I saw this book on Goodreads. It seemed interesting, I got the free sample on my kindle, I loved it.
The next morning I went to the library first thing, excited to read more, by the time of the fourth
chapter I knew I was going to have some issues with staying focused enough on the book to get it
read, I found the audiobook on Scribd. I put that on. I made it all the way to half way through chapter
11, which is about half way. I couldn t stand it a moment longer.
Now why am I writing a post about DNFing a book, when really it just sounds like I m pulling this
one book apart. The reason is that I have always felt that I need to finish a book I ve started. I still feel
like I should finish this book, even though you reading this now can see how much I was not enjoying

Why Fluoride Is Dangerous And Harmful
Rationale:
Most people would like to control what they consume, and even though this is becoming harder with
unmarked labeling and chemical additives, governments and councils all over the globe are adding
chemicals such as fluoride into city water supplies. The public is told that it is just to conserve their
health but we have created the illusion for ourselves that fluoride is added for other reasons, I.E.
population control and to lower our IQ. So why are governments doing this? I thought that it would be
interesting to find out why fluoride is added to our water and if it is really necessary.
Intro:
Most people know fluoride as a chemical added to water and toothpaste to improve dental health.
Some people believe that fluoride is vital to the growth and maintenance of out teeth but others say
fluoride is dangerous and harmful even when diluted. So what are the reasons behind adding this
supposed poison to our water supply and do we really need it? Well I believe we need fluoride, and
this document should help to explain why.
What Is Fluoride:
Fluorine is an element in the many fluoride compounds that are commonly added to water supplies
and dental products to rebuild and reinforce the enamel on our teeth. There are over 10 different
fluoride compounds. This is because fluorine has the capability of forming compounds with nearly all
the elements. When fluorine is combined with something else, for example sodium, it becomes a
fluoride compound (Sodium Fluoride).

The Impact Of Drug Trafficking And Organized Crime
The United States has a vast illegal drug market as well as high numbers of people indulging in
organized crime. Drug law enforcement personnel face problems when protecting the United States
borders to avoid any drug trafficking instances. Drug trafficking involves smuggling of illegal drugs
producing states such as Mexico to the consumer markets in other regions within the United States
Organized Crime, on the other hand, is the practice of the offense through threats or violence and aims
to collect legal or illegal rent from people in the community (Gavrilova, Kamada Zoutman, 2014).
Both practices are correlated as they are illegal and many criminal organizations are funded from drug

It has made various American leaders conclude that there are a huge market and a rising number of
drug abusers. There are cartels spread out within the United States to make the trade easy (Paoli,
2014). The current value of illegal drug sale is over $150 billion, and some drugs like cocaine fetch
over $37 billion annually. In 2011 according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime,
Americans were reported to consume about 63% of cocaine globally. Mexico is the highest ranked
country in the United States on drug trafficking practices, and Mexican drug cartels have become
more violent and aggressive in their effort to trade their products in Northern America (Beittel, 2015).
California and Texas are some of the states that have been influenced by the drug trafficking efforts as
young people are indulging in substance abuse and gang violence. Cannabis is the most trafficked
drug today both in the United States and globally. They have been an increase of its use as about nine
states have legalized it such as California and Arizona.

Rita Williams-Garcia Essay
Have you ever met someone that had you not laid eyes on them, you would never have believed how
old they might be? Well Rita Williams Garcia is that person. With a bubbly, child like personality, she
gets over joyed at the thought of a story idea, or learning new things. Ms. Williams draws you in to her
world with her style of speaking and excitement with the simple things of literacy. Ahead of others her

Comparing Williams Garcia s works with books by African American writers Jacqueline Woodson,

of Far Rockaway, New York. She lived there with her older sister and brother and parents. By the age
of two, Garcia had taught herself to read and had read most of the Dr. Seuss collection of books by the
time she entered Kindergarten. Unlike most other children, Rita and her siblings weren t allowed to
play outside, so she entertained herself by reading and imagining those stories continuing beyond The
End . Garcia graduated from Hofta University and completed her Postgraduate study in

Catullus Metaphors
The fruits of the magna mater are also evident in c.48. Again, Catullus carefully places his agricultural
simile in the latter half of the poem to establish an implied spatial contrast between the urbs and saltus.
But there is an essential difference here. While before the poet used the pastoral to describe the
unquantifiable, the omnipresence of Lesbia and of Rome, here we encounter a numerical limit to the
milia [basia] trecenta (3). Not only does this value directly respond to the problem of c.5, the infinity
of love and the rest of the Lesbia basia poems , but it also highlights another way in which Catullus
may use this mode; that is, as a tool for fiscal and quantitative civilising/Romanising forces. This
notion is stressed through the alliteration aridis aristis / sit (5/6), which works across the ... Show more

Fordyce calls this a genuine archaism that recalls similar paratactic uses in Greek which are
commonly found in hymns see Callimachus Hymn IV:39 40 . While the pueri may have won, the
puellae s appreciation for rural aesthetic and value has almost been gospelised. Associating archaic
vocabulary with the ancient times means that Catullus may glorify the pastoral not only morally but
also in the kind of existence he would like to live. The fact that this lifestyle was associated with
Romulus and Remus, suggests that Catullus highlights the widespread misappropriation of this ideal
with the insulting direct address cinaede Romule (5/9) in c.29 . Crucially, cinaedus is male sexual term
which means that this kind of imperial sex is essentially unreproductive; performed for pleasure, not
primeval necessity, in the same way that Mentula uses his land. The opprobia (c.28:15) this brings
onto the founders of this city, poisons Roman conservatism and any belief in a rustic reverie to its

The King Of Masks Gender Roles
Wu Tianming depicts life during the early days of the 1930 s in China by focusing on the three main
characters, Wang Bian Lian, Gou Wa (Doggie), and Master Liang in his film, The King of Masks

a powerful message of true love which enables to overcome hardships during life. The true love

The Debate Of Knowledge And Belief
The topic of knowledge and belief has been a subject of investigation and a primary field in
philosophical research for centuries. Whether it was Aristotle or Descartes, multiple ideas on
knowledge and belief arise, such as the epistemological theories of foundationalism or coherentism,
which provide philosophical explanations to this debate. For the sake of this essay, and in my own
opinion, knowledge should be distinguished from belief. Everyone is subject to different types of
beliefs based on upbringing, however knowledge of basic items is universal, therefore it immediately
becomes apparent that there is a clear distinction between the two concepts. Aristotle proposes an
argument called the Regress argument, (Wrenn) this argument is essentially the debate of knowledge
versus belief using the epistemological theories of knowledge. Aristotle takes the side of
foundationalism based on the simple fact that it defends knowledge and it that knowledge requires
basic justified beliefs. In the argument it states that coherentism is simply beliefs supported by other
beliefs therefore leading to no concrete knowledge behind the beliefs. For example, if I say that next
month is the April, it is justified by two other beliefs, that this month is March and the month after
April is May (Delaney, 1976). This example displays that for justification of coherentism it is simply
derived from further beliefs. However, for foundationalism, all beliefs are justified, which we can

The boy says that the waltzing was not easy, which could refer to dancing with his drunk dad or that

It is because of this that Roethke s poem could mean that his father and he are dancing or that the boy
is getting hit. It is because of this widely interpretable part of the poem that there are three different
ideas on what the poem actually means. The first one is that the child look to his father with fear and
joy. The other two sides are a like in the fact that they think that the poems intensity. One of them
thinks that the poem has a more joyful mood because their personal experience when their father

people think that the poems tone is more fearful because in the beginning they hear that the fathers

Bobby Fong thinks that the poem is like a seesaw... hard, dirt, clinging), (80). This shows that he
thinks that the story has both fearful parts and joyful parts. However, in Hayden s The Whipping there

Raoul Hausmann s Influence In Three Selected Art Works
The following are three selected art works demonstrate this influence.
In the photomontage Der Kunstkritiker or The Art Critic (1919 20) Raoul Hausmann distorts and
disproportions the human form through deconstruction to have a simultaneously insulting and
humorous effect on his viewers.
Hausmann was an Austrian artist who adhered to strict expressionistic styles until introduced to
Dadaism, an unrealistic artistic and literary movement of many different mediums occurring from
1916 to 1924. Hausmann became one of the founding members of Dada in Berlin; a style which
centres on the mockery of materialistic and nationalistic attitudes formed in World War 1. Its

My Favorite Dog
As a little kid, I had always feared dogs. Actually, I guess you could say I was scared to death of them.
I never knew why, but the moment I spotted one of those little, fluffy demons, I was running for my
life. Eight years old and caked with dirt from a Little League game I just finished, I headed over to the
car. Sloppy mud floating around in my shoe, I felt like I was walking around in a marsh. My dad was
driving the silver Toyota Matrix and playing one of his Rolling Stones albums, full blast, almost
stinging my ears. All the windows were open, letting the cool April air smack my face as I looked out
the window. It was refreshing, and my Saturday could not have gotten any better. My dad turned into
our long driveway and I turned to him in with confusion and asked, Where s mom? He stopped and
thought for and second, only to reply with, I don t know. Probably getting groceries. We walked down
our old, cracked driveway only to hear someone in the backyard. I listened hard for a second, but the
noise wasn t familiar to me. We started heading towards the gate, listening to the barking and
laughing, only to find this black blur of a thing running around and playing with a tennis ball. My
sister was overjoyed, giggling as though she had just inhaled a tank of laughing gas, and was running
around it. My knees began to wobble. The mud in my shoes didn t seem to bother me anymore. All
that bothered me was this thing playing in my backyard. I slowly twisted

My Baby
I continued to watch my mama as her face began to turn crimson and her eyes grew imbued with
moisture, and I knew right away that something had happened to my step daddy. I mean, who else
could it have been she was talking about? My mama, then said, Okay... Okay... Okay... We ll be right
there, as she delicately touched her fingertips to the microphone of the phone before saying, Thank
you, to the person on the other end and hanging up. Anxiously I asked her, What is it... What s going
on? feeling my voice to begin to tremble while my stomach started to turn. Did something happen to

He then added that the way the truck looked to him my Step Daddy Cade was lucky to still be alive.
To me the truck looked like it was absolutely totaled. It was even still steaming in the front where the
rain splashed down on the still warm engine block which was now exposed to the elements because
the hood had peeled away as the front end crumpled in on itself. My mama didn t even let the officer
finish what he was saying about the accident before she started frantically asking him where he was,
He of coursing being my Step Daddy Cade. The officer then pointed to one of the two ambulances that
were already on scene. I watched my mama quickly run over to the back of the one he d pointed to,
and I followed her in pursuit. She then opened the ambulance s back doors without even knocking and
inside was two men who just stared back at us with surprised looks on their faces while my step daddy
lay unconscious on a gurney between them. My mama cried out, Cade! in a hysterical sob filled voice
when she saw him and the men then quickly ushered her inside the cab. As my mama climbed in, I
remained just outside the doors of the bus standing in the rain because there really wasn t enough
room left inside for me also to climb on board, and I didn t want to be in the paramedics way. As I
stood in the drizzle, I looked over my step daddy as he laid helplessly all cut up and covered with
blood.

The War Plan For South Korea
North and South Korea, which have technically been at war for the last 65 years, are again acting like
it. (npr.org) They ve always been fighting each other, and this is another one of their battles. It all
started when there was an explosive from landmines in the DMZ, which is the sort of de facto border
that separates North and South Korea, which injured two South Korean soldiers that the South has
blamed on North Korea but, of course, North Korea has not apologized for. (npr.org) That angered
South Korea which lead them to start anti North propaganda broadcasting through loudspeakers.
Consequently, both sides have been arguing at the DMZ. Then, everything was settled when both sides
made an agreement; however, no one really knows what Kim Jong Un will do. As a result, the United
States are hesitant, so the top U.S. commanders reviewed the U.S. war plan for defending South Korea
in case there was a sudden indication that North Korea was going to begin a war. (cnn.com) They are
on the watch for movement for activation of air defences and artilleries. Currently, South Korea is low
on missionary materials to fight North Korea, so South Korea is going to need the U.S. s help. North
Korea has half a million more armed forces, 10,000 more artillery pieces, a thousand more tanks, and
etc. This can be very dangerous for South Korea if North attacks. It can also be dangerous if U.S.
helps South Korea meaning North Korea can attack U.S. Immigration has

Sakoku, or the National Seclusion of Japan
Sakoku, or the national seclusion, of Japan by the Tokugawa Iemitsu in the 1630s was one of the most
important periods in Japanese history. Many people perceived that Japan became uniquely unique
because of the Sakoku. However, during the Sakoku, Japan was not complete sealed off from foreign
influences and trades. The national seclusion of Japan is believed by some people that there is only
limited trade with the Dutch and Chinese in Nagasaki. According to Oxford Art Online during the Edo
period, the Bay of Nagasaki is the only port open to overseas trade (Bonnie), which was not true.
During the Sakoku, Japan was not restricted to only the bay in Nagasaki, but Japan had total of four
designated places that allowed foreign contacts. Before the detail of the four areas of foreign relations
during the Sakoku period, the reasons for the Sakoku need to be explained. The widespread of
Christianity in Japan started because of Oda Nobunaga encouraged missionaries to convert many
Japanese to Christians because he wanted to reduce the influence of Buddhist monasteries. However,
his successors did not share the same view. Hideyoshi felt threaten by Christians, especially the
Catholics because of several reasons. One of these reasons was that the Spaniards conquered the
islands of Philippines (Watts). Another reason is that Hideyoshi felt threaten with the concept of
foreign ruler that many Catholics recognized, the Catholic Pope. The tension finally escalated when

France s identity is based on the historical origins of the nation in Celtic, Gallo Roman, and Frankish

effects of the global recession, but the effects in France have been partly cushioned by a more cautious
banking and investment sector, and by a tradition of state intervention in the economy. In many
sectors, the French economy is among the strongest in the world. France is among the leading
industrial economies in the automotive, aerospace, and railways sectors, as well as in cosmetics,

Deforestation In Rainforests
Rich black soil, towering tropical trees, the distant sound of a hollering monkey and the smell of damp
leaves paint the picture of a tropical rainforest. The most famous and valuable tropical forests include
the Amazon, Congo Basin, Indonesia and the forests of the Russian Far East and have been debated as
endangered for decades. These rainforests mainly differ in soils, geology, precipitation patterns, the
wildlife which resides there but all share the abundance of natural wealth including sturdy woods,
medicines and spices and are sought out by many. However the long debated question still stands if
deforestation is something of the past or an on going and current threat. Deforestation is defined as the
intentional or natural clearance of forests on a massive scale, often resulting in damage to the quality
of the land and adverse environment effects. () Today forests still cover roughly 30% of the worlds
land area however this number is sure to dwindle down due to the loss of 46 58 thousand square miles
annually, equivalent to approximately 48 footballs fields every minute. (WWF) The decline in trees
translates for loss of habitat and homes for the millions of exotic creatures which call rainforests for
example the Amazon, home. The Amazon alone is home to more than two thirds of the 1.4 million
species known to man however this is not even close to the extent of the wealth the drizzly rainforest
has to offer. (Rothbard, David and Craig Rucker) Species who s habitats are threatened by
deforestation are often unable to prosper in the small forested acres left behind. Therefore species
become vulnerable to trophy hunters or poachers causing numbers to begin to dwindle, some
eventually succumbing to extinction. Even a lighter non commercial local deforestation can result in
extinctions due to many unique species living in small isolated parts of the rainforests across the
globe. (WWF) According to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) affected species includes: giant pandas,
tigers, rhinos, orangutans, Asian elephant, many species of apes like the gorilla and the Amur leopard
(WWF). Rainforests are not only threatened by the effects of commercial and large scale deforestation
but also by the communities of people

Definition Of Competitive Intelligence ( Ci )
1. Definition of Competitive Intelligence (CI).
CI is the collection of information, internal, external and from competitors, but also from customers,
suppliers, technologies, environments, and potential business to provide early warning and help to
predict the moves of competitors, customers, and governments (Calof and Wright, 2008, p. 723; Gilad,
1996).
Competitive Intelligence is the process of collecting, analyzing, and distributing actionable
intelligence about customers, producer, suppliers and competitors, so as to help the receiver of this
actionable intelligence to make an informed decision about organisational strategy.
2. Introduction.
Competitive Intelligence (CI) comes from shadows of company secret agent (spy) vs. ... Show more

During the 1980s, Apple (computer) thought its main competitor was IBM whilst an enterprise known
as Microsoft proceeded to take over the computing industry. This proves that employing the right CI
professionals will guarantee you the right intelligence 90% of the time, hence creating value for the
organisation.
According to (Miller N.d), a study conducted by academics in 1995 at the University of North Texas
showed that companies that practice CI typically outperformed those who do not in three critical
areas: average sales, market share, and profitability. This further proves that CI practice/operations
pays off and creates financial value to the company. This study further indicates that there is a positive
relationship between CI and the financial performance of companies. Therefore CI contributes to the
bottom line of the organisation.
4. Is CI a stigmatized practice?
Investigating competitors and commercial espionage is certainly now not the same thing. This is how
the stigma associated with CI practices came about, as people would perceive CI professionals as
people that spy on other companies to obtain an advantage over them. CI is the accumulating of
information on rivals via legal and valid ways, such as text mining, internet mining, published data,

In purchasing matrix high risk products such as materials and plant machinery are normally purchased
by top management; and middle lower level managements are responsible in buying low risk products
such as office insurance and stationary. The Figure 1 shows the purchasing decision matrix of
industrial products.
Figure (1) The Risk Value Purchasing Decision Matrix
Source: Harrison et al. (2006)
In B2B markets, the buying process is often more complex as compare to B2C markets because of
purchasing risky products, B2B buyer needs to be more rational and should have comprehensive
knowledge about products and markets. Another problem associated with B2B marketing is that B2B
products are more complex and a B2B marketer needs to have full knowledge and technical expertise
in providing technical details to the customers at the time of sale (Harrison et al., 2006) and the
success of whole product line greatly depends on sales team in B2B context. In addition, in business
tobusiness markets, companies buy limited number of buying units by following Pareto Principle or
80:20 rules, so it is necessary for the B2B marketers to emphasise on establishing long term
relationships with buyers especially in emerging markets such as China, India and Russia.
From the past two decades, the most complex issue concerned with B2B marketing is B2B branding
that has received little attention of the

Music Piracy: From the Pirates Perspective
I don t wear a black patch over my eye. I don t have any missing limbs, replaced by a hook or a
wooden leg that clicks when I walk. I have never owned a parrot; I don t have a cool name like Black
Beard or Calico Jack; I don t even have a big, black hat. Though I lack all the defining characteristics,
I am a pirate. My ship is a laptop computer and my booty is not measured by dollars and cents, but by
precious kilobytes. With the aide of my spy glass, the KaZaa Media Desktop, I discern my next target.
Wielding my trusty mouse, I make a few clicks, issue commands, board ship, and hijack the music
recording industry, claiming yet another copyrighted song as my own.

I sacrificed blood, sweat, and hours upon hours of my life, all for my love of music. After graduating
high school, I packed my bags, and my CD cases, and headed off to college. Then disaster struck.
When I arrived at my new home, I immediately scoured the streets, searching for a music store. I
found the only location in the area and excitedly perused the selection. When I picked up a copy of the
new Red Hot Chili Peppers CD, I was shocked. CD prices had spiked up to $18 and $19. Such a price
was unthinkable considering the new list of expenses that came with being on my own. Devastated, I
was forced to go home empty handed, defeated by the industry I had supported since I was a kid. For
the next two years I brooded over my dilemma, unable to satisfy my musical craving. As new albums
continued to come out, I was forced to rely on the radio, and that was no way to live. Then one day my
friend introduced me to KaZaa, and everything changed.
Napster had already been shut down, so at first I was timid. I knew sharing music was illegal, but
millions of other people were doing the same thing; and besides, after years of support, these
musicians owed me. I typed in Red Hot Chili Peppers, and soon I had a huge list of songs in front of
me. I clicked on Californication and watched my computer seize the promise of new music, a few
kilobytes at a time. When it finished, I listened to the song as loud as I could, just to convince myself

The major role of the project manager or team is to lead all processes and participants of a given
project. In satisfying this role, the project manager or team has the difficult task of predicting project
schedules and budgets, including possible setbacks that may adversely impact them. Where setbacks
are encountered, the project manager or team should strive to compensate for these, to bring the
project within agreed requirements. For example, recent recipients of the Project of the Year Award in
2009 and 2010 demonstrated their ability to achieve project goals despite significant setbacks.
In 2009, the Newmont TS Power Plant Project faced challenges from a difficult economic landscape
in 2004 and an environment with unparalleled demand for technical resources and construction labor,
while operating in a remote location. The project management team adopted a risk management
approach and focused on high performance teamwork. The former approach, with risk management
and mitigation, is among core strategies advocated by the Project Management Institute. The latter
attribute, regarding the level of teamwork, was enhanced by adopting many team building sessions,
and by valuing a clear vision for the goals expected by all stakeholders in the project. Goals were
assessed on many aspects, including schedule, quality, safety, and sustainability. The Project of the
Year Award recipients described their project management strategy as Continuous Performance

The Quality Of Wisdom In Herman Hesse s Sidddhartha
Wisdom is the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement. Knowledge is facts,
information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education. You may gain
knowledge through education but you can t be taught wisdom. Sometimes that s a hard learned lesson.
In Siddhartha, Herman Hesse uses the theme wisdom cannot be learned nor gained through teachings
but can only be achieved through experience. Which is very evident through seeing Siddhartha going
through his journey of life to reach full enlightenment/wisdom on his own.
Siddhartha early on in his rich Brahmin life realizes that the teachings he s learning from the Brahmins
is inadequate to reach enlightenment. Siddhartha is not content with having knowledge he knows that
there is more to learn and receive. The Brahmins are not fulfilling his mind. He had begun to sense
that his venerable father and his other teachers, that the wise Brahmins had already imparted to him
the bulk and the best of their knowledge...his mind was not contented (5). This shows that he realizes
there is more and he decides to leave to find that more . Siddhartha finds the Samanas and becomes
apart of them. He gains knowledge but questions their way to nirvana/enlightenment. During the
samana period he is discontent with what he has already learned thinking that he has been taught all
there is to learn from the Samanas. I am willing to listen to these teachings though in my heart I
believe that we ve already tasted the best fruit of these teachings (21). Siddhartha knows there is more
he can be taught and thinks he can not do that with the Samanas. Siddhartha believes the teachings of
wisdom and knowledge but is discontent with learning it and tries to find other paths to enlightenment.
After the Samanas, Siddhartha crosses the river to find someone that has reached the highest level of
wisdom and enlightenment. He is still discontent but acknowledges that he can reach that level if he
keeps searching. After listening to a teaching from the Buddha(who has reached enlightenment)
Siddhartha wants to ask him how he reached enlightenment. The Buddha says what Siddhartha has
been thinking the whole time. It came to you from your own seeking path,

The Ethical Decision-Making Model
I believe the initial considerations are related to Bill making a good faith effort to protect his client
(the child) and provide confidentiality using a sound ethical decision making model, his ethical
identity, the code, and the agreed upon informed consent . He is now on the witness stand in a

and his client is the child. However, I believe Bill has made some mistakes along the way with his
decision making, the use of the code, and now his ethical identity is challenged in what could be a
high pressure courtroom setting. It does seem that he is not actually sure what his role is at the

However, since the mother was most likely the one who initiated the subpoena, then perhaps this was

referral. Bill and his lawyer also could have written a letter to the court stating that they wished to
comply with the law, but that Bill was ethically obligated to testify about them unless compelled to do
so by the court or with the consent of the client (APA, 2006). However, since the mother was most
likely the one who initiated the subpoena, then she would have also provided consent. In writing such

adhere to federal requirements (e.g., the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996

False Dreams In The Film American Beauty
More than just a parodic take on suburban life, the film American Beauty speaks about looking closer
at what we desire and believe will bring fulfillment. It depicts the perspective of very different
characters, in which many share the similarity of chasing these beautiful dreams in an attempt to
replace their weaknesses. As these characters get a glimpse of their dreams, they begin to discover
how deceptive their idea of beauty is. For the audience, these dreams demonstrate how they are
nothing but skewed fantasies that end up replacing true beauty. It is one character, Ricky Fitts, who
further demonstrates how unaware these characters are of their false dreams. He is able to show this
odd yet genuine concept of beauty through his vision that

Compare And Contrast Peare And George Washington
Everybody knows something about the American Revolution. But how many people know about the
eerily similar, yet drastically different Irish Easter Rising and subsequent revolution? Causes, leaders,
battles, treaties, resolutions, and effects are a part of every country. Sometimes they are similar, and
other times not, as is the case with America and Ireland. Padraig Pearse and George Washington were
both elected commander in chief over armies. Neither of them had ever commanded large armies
before, although Washington had commanded squadrons. They both also lost more battles than they
won. However, the similarities mostly end here. The outcome was the most different. Washington
won, after a long struggle. Pearse eventually surrendered, saving countless lives. ... Show more

Many of the Irish leaders were writers, poets, or scholars with little to no military training. In contrast,
the Americans had a lot of trained and capable leaders. These drastically different leaders had
drastically different effects on the Revolutions. Washington s unique military tactics won the
American Revolution, starting when he had the idea to cross the Delaware. And Pearse, although he
lost, went down in history for his bravery when faced with insurmountable odds. One of Pearse s most
famous quotes reads They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have purchased
half of us and intimidated the other half. They think they have foreseen everything, think that they
provided against everything; but the fools, the fools, the fools! they have left us our Fenian dead, and
while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace. This quote meant much more
after the executions of sixteen Irish rebel commandants than it did when it was first said at Jeremiah O
Donovan Rossa s funeral. It gave hope to young revolutionaries and incited rebellion against

Hugo s Restaurant Style
When I began writing this blog post, I thought that the menu of Hugo s would be the draw for people.
Looking to have a great meal is one thing I can agree with Houston about on many levels and Hugo s
has got some really fun, interesting, delicious food. Once I even had crickets there. And they were
good. Like, really good.
But adventuresome eating isn t even the most interesting thing about Hugo s, which serves authentic
Mexican regional cuisine from many of Mexico s numerous cultural variants. Executive Chef Hugo
Ortega (the Hugo in Hugo s) considers authentic Mexican cooking to be a world class cuisine that has
remained virtually unchanged by the outside world. He seeks to find the subtle flavors of each area
and integrate them into his technically distinguished menu, bringing a reverent tone to this beautiful
homage to Mexican diversity. However, despite the exceptional cuisine, despite the historic, beautiful
building, despite even your love of a good story about me eating strange foods, nothing trumps the
intrigue of a great story: Tracy Vaught and Hugo Ortega are plenty of story to tell.
Tracy is an idiosyncratic restaurant owner, perhaps owing to her background not in restaurants but in
geology. Looking for a career change from the isolating business of rock analysis, Tracy considered a

Tracy s attentiveness to her employees revealed to her that Hugo was hard working, eager, and
intelligent and she offered him a position on the kitchen line. Vaught was in the middle of trying to
turn around a second business, Prego, from its defunct state and she promoted Ortega to the kitchen
there where he gained experience with Executive Chef John Watt. It was then that Tracy decided to
invest in her rising star employee, enrolling Hugo in the Culinary Arts program at HCC where he
impressed teachers and department heads

  • 2. Titus Andronicus By William Shakespeare The play Titus Andronicus by William Shakespeare depicts the Roman Empire from a very traditional perspective within each of the characters. Shakespeare creates a visual of historical Rome that includes many blood battles, deception, courage and loyalty not just to Rome and her people, but to one s family. By doing this, Shakespeare shows the reader that Rome was a great city of power that revolved around the idea that justice must be of an equivalent manner suitable to the crime committed by the other party. The word Rome , both historically and in modern times, is often defined as being the perfect model for an advanced civilization, and many looked upon Rome and Romans as being examples of excellence for architecture and political advances within a society . ( Rome , OED Online). The word Rome is seen frequently throughout the play and is used by almost all of the characters. It is a word that describes what Roman civilization entails and how the city of Rome can be a very dark and cruel city. The Roman characters in particular describe the two main concepts of Rome and Roman by means of traditional birth right and traditional forms of justice. Both meanings are seen frequently amongst each Roman character. By fully understanding why particular events in the play occur and being able to see the traditional aspects of the word Rome among each character, it aids the reader in understanding how the play revolves around the historical context of Roman values of ... The Chinese Room Argument While proponents of strong AI believe that machines are capable of imitating human consciousness so well that it might be perceived as actually obtaining consciousness, others such as John Searle believe otherwise. Another logical stance on the question is accepting that machines are able to behave as though it has a conscious mind physically, but also arguing that machines will never be able to possess this consciousness as though a human would. This second type of viewpoint is considered Weak Artificial Intelligence, otherwise known as narrow artificial intelligence. Weak AI is acknowledging that machines can simulate consciousness computationally, but that is different from actually obtaining consciousness. One of the most widely known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Searle believed that simply manipulating symbols will not ensure computers are able to think or understand, in other words, knowing syntax does not mean understanding the semantics, and function does not mean understanding. There are of course many criticisms of Searle s Chinese Room Argument, the main ones include the Systems Reply, the Robot Reply, the Brain Simulator Reply, the Other Minds Reply, and the Intuition Reply. In Searle s Chinese Room Argument, the person inside the room is defined as not able to understand Chinese. But in response to that, the Systems Reply brings up the point that while the person might not know any Chinese, the system as a whole understands Chinese. The Virtual Mind Reply is similar to the Systems Reply in that the person inside the room might not understand Chinese by him or herself. But Virtual Mind Reply questions whether understanding is created or not. While the person in the room might not have any knowledge of Chinese at the beginning, running the system might create an agent that does have understanding of Chinese. The Robot Reply, while accepting that the person in the room might not understand Chinese or the computer in the room does not understand a particular language, suggests that giving a computer a body would mean something different for the computer. Being able to interact with the environment using sensors might enable the computer to learn. The Brain Simulator Reply suggests to consider the program being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Forms of prosthetics date way back to the Civil War, and has made a lot of progress throughout the years. During the Civil War, many soldiers would have to be amputated everyday to save their lives. For example, in the text I Will Not Get Out of Heart Yet, it states that Soldiers shot in the arm or leg on the battlefield were highly likely to develop potentially fatal infections, and the only way to prevent a painful death was to cut off the damaged body part. Despite this fact, prosthetics were extremely uncomfortable to wear and were considered crude contraptions and were usually made of wood or steel that were awkward and painful to wear. Many soldiers did not like having prosthetic limbs, as they were uncomfortable to wear and awkward to move around with. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Edmund Spenser Research Paper Edmund Spenser was born into a relatively poor family in East Smithfield, London, England in 1552 (there remains a degree of ambiguity to the exact date of his birth). This information is acquired from sonnet lx. in the Amoretti where he speaks of having lived 41 years, as of 1595. Although he was related to an affluent and noble Midlands family of Spencer, his own immediate family was not particularly wealthy. There also remains some ambiguity to the specificities of Spenser s childhood, though it is known that he was entered as a poor boy in the Merchant Taylor s grammar school, where he studied primarily Latin, with specks of Hebrew, Greek, and music thrown in sporadically. Edmund Spenser began his illustrious writing career as early as 16, as there are poems of his found in a miscellany, by the name of Theatre for Worldlings, that are accredited to being ... Without Virgil s Bucolics, and the later tradition of pastoral poetry in Italy and France, Spenser would not have came up with and written the The Shepheardes Calender. • 6. Limitations Of Wireless Communication INTRODUCTION There are lots of challenges occurs for reliable wireless communication which occurs due to physical limitations of the wireless medium. There has been massive growth occurs in wireless communication which is due to the techniques that improves spectral efficiency and mitigate various channel impairments such as fading and interference. Moreover there is always demand for high speed wireless internet and technologies which are capable of providing higher capacities and link reliabilities. Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) is based on communication system which is able to fulfil these objectives. MIMO is an expansion of smart antennas systems. There were traditional smart antennas which occupy multiple antennas at receiver, whereas In MIMO system multiple antennas are engaged at both sides at transmitter as well as receiver side. The multiple antennas at the transmitter and the receiver side provide a major advantage over traditional smart antenna systems in terms of capacity and diversity advantage. The multipath propagation by MIMO system is a remarkably advantage over other antennas system. Moreover it is able to provide independent fading channels between every pair of transmitter and receiver antennas. The rapid improvement in communication system with high data rates and improved channel capacity has pondered towards the study of both theoretical and practical in wireless communication systems. Suspense In The Tell-Tale Heart By Edgar Allan Poe My intrest of this story, was raised by the suspense and the tension throughout the story, not to mention the blood and awe that builds the story slowly and then picks up the pace to the climax, where the narrator raves to the police and cannot hide his crime anymore. I imagine, that i m in an apartment with a nasty sense and with dark wood panelling and flooring. The furniture is musty or dusty. This literary work left me both terrified and disgusted. • 11. Why Fluoride Is Dangerous And Harmful Rationale: Most people would like to control what they consume, and even though this is becoming harder with unmarked labeling and chemical additives, governments and councils all over the globe are adding chemicals such as fluoride into city water supplies. The public is told that it is just to conserve their health but we have created the illusion for ourselves that fluoride is added for other reasons, I.E. population control and to lower our IQ. So why are governments doing this? I thought that it would be interesting to find out why fluoride is added to our water and if it is really necessary. Intro: Most people know fluoride as a chemical added to water and toothpaste to improve dental health. Some people believe that fluoride is vital to the growth and maintenance of out teeth but others say fluoride is dangerous and harmful even when diluted. So what are the reasons behind adding this supposed poison to our water supply and do we really need it? Well I believe we need fluoride, and this document should help to explain why. What Is Fluoride: Fluorine is an element in the many fluoride compounds that are commonly added to water supplies and dental products to rebuild and reinforce the enamel on our teeth. There are over 10 different fluoride compounds. This is because fluorine has the capability of forming compounds with nearly all the elements. When fluorine is combined with something else, for example sodium, it becomes a fluoride compound (Sodium Fluoride). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Again, Catullus carefully places his agricultural simile in the latter half of the poem to establish an implied spatial contrast between the urbs and saltus. But there is an essential difference here. While before the poet used the pastoral to describe the unquantifiable, the omnipresence of Lesbia and of Rome, here we encounter a numerical limit to the milia [basia] trecenta (3). Not only does this value directly respond to the problem of c.5, the infinity of love and the rest of the Lesbia basia poems , but it also highlights another way in which Catullus may use this mode; that is, as a tool for fiscal and quantitative civilising/Romanising forces. This notion is stressed through the alliteration aridis aristis / sit (5/6), which works across the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Associating archaic vocabulary with the ancient times means that Catullus may glorify the pastoral not only morally but also in the kind of existence he would like to live. The fact that this lifestyle was associated with Romulus and Remus, suggests that Catullus highlights the widespread misappropriation of this ideal with the insulting direct address cinaede Romule (5/9) in c.29 . Crucially, cinaedus is male sexual term which means that this kind of imperial sex is essentially unreproductive; performed for pleasure, not primeval necessity, in the same way that Mentula uses his land. • 18. The Debate Of Knowledge And Belief The topic of knowledge and belief has been a subject of investigation and a primary field in philosophical research for centuries. Whether it was Aristotle or Descartes, multiple ideas on knowledge and belief arise, such as the epistemological theories of foundationalism or coherentism, which provide philosophical explanations to this debate. For the sake of this essay, and in my own opinion, knowledge should be distinguished from belief. Everyone is subject to different types of beliefs based on upbringing, however knowledge of basic items is universal, therefore it immediately becomes apparent that there is a clear distinction between the two concepts. Aristotle proposes an argument called the Regress argument, (Wrenn) this argument is essentially the debate of knowledge versus belief using the epistemological theories of knowledge. Aristotle takes the side of foundationalism based on the simple fact that it defends knowledge and it that knowledge requires basic justified beliefs. In the argument it states that coherentism is simply beliefs supported by other beliefs therefore leading to no concrete knowledge behind the beliefs. For example, if I say that next month is the April, it is justified by two other beliefs, that this month is March and the month after April is May (Delaney, 1976). This example displays that for justification of coherentism it is simply derived from further beliefs. However, for foundationalism, all beliefs are justified, which we can ... I never knew why, but the moment I spotted one of those little, fluffy demons, I was running for my life. Eight years old and caked with dirt from a Little League game I just finished, I headed over to the car. Sloppy mud floating around in my shoe, I felt like I was walking around in a marsh. My dad was driving the silver Toyota Matrix and playing one of his Rolling Stones albums, full blast, almost stinging my ears. All the windows were open, letting the cool April air smack my face as I looked out the window. It was refreshing, and my Saturday could not have gotten any better. My dad turned into our long driveway and I turned to him in with confusion and asked, Where s mom? He stopped and thought for and second, only to reply with, I don t know. Probably getting groceries. We walked down our old, cracked driveway only to hear someone in the backyard. I listened hard for a second, but the noise wasn t familiar to me. We started heading towards the gate, listening to the barking and laughing, only to find this black blur of a thing running around and playing with a tennis ball. My sister was overjoyed, giggling as though she had just inhaled a tank of laughing gas, and was running around it. My knees began to wobble. The mud in my shoes didn t seem to bother me anymore. All that bothered me was this thing playing in my backyard. I slowly twisted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My mama didn t even let the officer finish what he was saying about the accident before she started frantically asking him where he was, He of coursing being my Step Daddy Cade. The officer then pointed to one of the two ambulances that were already on scene. I watched my mama quickly run over to the back of the one he d pointed to, and I followed her in pursuit. She then opened the ambulance s back doors without even knocking and inside was two men who just stared back at us with surprised looks on their faces while my step daddy lay unconscious on a gurney between them. My mama cried out, Cade! in a hysterical sob filled voice when she saw him and the men then quickly ushered her inside the cab. As my mama climbed in, I remained just outside the doors of the bus standing in the rain because there really wasn t enough room left inside for me also to climb on board, and I didn t want to be in the paramedics way. (npr.org) They ve always been fighting each other, and this is another one of their battles. It all started when there was an explosive from landmines in the DMZ, which is the sort of de facto border that separates North and South Korea, which injured two South Korean soldiers that the South has blamed on North Korea but, of course, North Korea has not apologized for. (npr.org) That angered South Korea which lead them to start anti North propaganda broadcasting through loudspeakers. Consequently, both sides have been arguing at the DMZ. Then, everything was settled when both sides made an agreement; however, no one really knows what Kim Jong Un will do. As a result, the United States are hesitant, so the top U.S. commanders reviewed the U.S. war plan for defending South Korea in case there was a sudden indication that North Korea was going to begin a war. (cnn.com) They are on the watch for movement for activation of air defences and artilleries. Currently, South Korea is low on missionary materials to fight North Korea, so South Korea is going to need the U.S. s help. North Korea has half a million more armed forces, 10,000 more artillery pieces, a thousand more tanks, and etc. This can be very dangerous for South Korea if North attacks. • 31. Deforestation In Rainforests Rich black soil, towering tropical trees, the distant sound of a hollering monkey and the smell of damp leaves paint the picture of a tropical rainforest. The most famous and valuable tropical forests include the Amazon, Congo Basin, Indonesia and the forests of the Russian Far East and have been debated as endangered for decades. These rainforests mainly differ in soils, geology, precipitation patterns, the wildlife which resides there but all share the abundance of natural wealth including sturdy woods, medicines and spices and are sought out by many. However the long debated question still stands if deforestation is something of the past or an on going and current threat. Deforestation is defined as the intentional or natural clearance of forests on a massive scale, often resulting in damage to the quality of the land and adverse environment effects. () Today forests still cover roughly 30% of the worlds land area however this number is sure to dwindle down due to the loss of 46 58 thousand square miles annually, equivalent to approximately 48 footballs fields every minute. (WWF) The decline in trees translates for loss of habitat and homes for the millions of exotic creatures which call rainforests for example the Amazon, home. The Amazon alone is home to more than two thirds of the 1.4 million species known to man however this is not even close to the extent of the wealth the drizzly rainforest has to offer. (Rothbard, David and Craig Rucker) Species who s habitats are threatened by deforestation are often unable to prosper in the small forested acres left behind. Therefore species become vulnerable to trophy hunters or poachers causing numbers to begin to dwindle, some eventually succumbing to extinction. Even a lighter non commercial local deforestation can result in extinctions due to many unique species living in small isolated parts of the rainforests across the globe. (WWF) According to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) affected species includes: giant pandas, tigers, rhinos, orangutans, Asian elephant, many species of apes like the gorilla and the Amur leopard (WWF). According to (Miller N.d), a study conducted by academics in 1995 at the University of North Texas showed that companies that practice CI typically outperformed those who do not in three critical areas: average sales, market share, and profitability. This further proves that CI practice/operations pays off and creates financial value to the company. This study further indicates that there is a positive relationship between CI and the financial performance of companies. Therefore CI contributes to the bottom line of the organisation. 4. (2006) In B2B markets, the buying process is often more complex as compare to B2C markets because of purchasing risky products, B2B buyer needs to be more rational and should have comprehensive knowledge about products and markets. Another problem associated with B2B marketing is that B2B products are more complex and a B2B marketer needs to have full knowledge and technical expertise in providing technical details to the customers at the time of sale (Harrison et al., 2006) and the success of whole product line greatly depends on sales team in B2B context. In addition, in business tobusiness markets, companies buy limited number of buying units by following Pareto Principle or 80:20 rules, so it is necessary for the B2B marketers to emphasise on establishing long term relationships with buyers especially in emerging markets such as China, India and Russia. Knowledge is facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education. You may gain knowledge through education but you can t be taught wisdom. Sometimes that s a hard learned lesson. In Siddhartha, Herman Hesse uses the theme wisdom cannot be learned nor gained through teachings but can only be achieved through experience. Which is very evident through seeing Siddhartha going through his journey of life to reach full enlightenment/wisdom on his own. Siddhartha early on in his rich Brahmin life realizes that the teachings he s learning from the Brahmins is inadequate to reach enlightenment. Siddhartha is not content with having knowledge he knows that there is more to learn and receive. The Brahmins are not fulfilling his mind. He had begun to sense that his venerable father and his other teachers, that the wise Brahmins had already imparted to him the bulk and the best of their knowledge...his mind was not contented (5). This shows that he realizes there is more and he decides to leave to find that more . Siddhartha finds the Samanas and becomes apart of them. He gains knowledge but questions their way to nirvana/enlightenment. During the samana period he is discontent with what he has already learned thinking that he has been taught all there is to learn from the Samanas. I am willing to listen to these teachings though in my heart I believe that we ve already tasted the best fruit of these teachings (21). Siddhartha knows there is more he can be taught and thinks he can not do that with the Samanas. Siddhartha believes the teachings of wisdom and knowledge but is discontent with learning it and tries to find other paths to enlightenment. After the Samanas, Siddhartha crosses the river to find someone that has reached the highest level of wisdom and enlightenment. He is still discontent but acknowledges that he can reach that level if he keeps searching. As these characters get a glimpse of their dreams, they begin to discover how deceptive their idea of beauty is. For the audience, these dreams demonstrate how they are nothing but skewed fantasies that end up replacing true beauty. It is one character, Ricky Fitts, who further demonstrates how unaware these characters are of their false dreams. He is able to show this odd yet genuine concept of beauty through his vision that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Compare And Contrast Peare And George Washington Everybody knows something about the American Revolution. But how many people know about the eerily similar, yet drastically different Irish Easter Rising and subsequent revolution? Causes, leaders, battles, treaties, resolutions, and effects are a part of every country. Sometimes they are similar, and other times not, as is the case with America and Ireland. Padraig Pearse and George Washington were both elected commander in chief over armies. Neither of them had ever commanded large armies before, although Washington had commanded squadrons. They both also lost more battles than they won. However, the similarities mostly end here. The outcome was the most different. Washington won, after a long struggle. Pearse eventually surrendered, saving countless lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many of the Irish leaders were writers, poets, or scholars with little to no military training. In contrast, the Americans had a lot of trained and capable leaders. These drastically different leaders had drastically different effects on the Revolutions. Washington s unique military tactics won the American Revolution, starting when he had the idea to cross the Delaware. And Pearse, although he lost, went down in history for his bravery when faced with insurmountable odds. One of Pearse s most famous quotes reads They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think they have foreseen everything, think that they provided against everything; but the fools, the fools, the fools! they have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace. This quote meant much more after the executions of sixteen Irish rebel commandants than it did when it was first said at Jeremiah O Donovan Rossa s funeral. It gave hope to young revolutionaries and incited rebellion against ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Looking to have a great meal is one thing I can agree with Houston about on many levels and Hugo s has got some really fun, interesting, delicious food. Once I even had crickets there. And they were good. Like, really good. But adventuresome eating isn t even the most interesting thing about Hugo s, which serves authentic Mexican regional cuisine from many of Mexico s numerous cultural variants. Executive Chef Hugo Ortega (the Hugo in Hugo s) considers authentic Mexican cooking to be a world class cuisine that has remained virtually unchanged by the outside world. He seeks to find the subtle flavors of each area and integrate them into his technically distinguished menu, bringing a reverent tone to this beautiful homage to Mexican diversity. However, despite the exceptional cuisine, despite the historic, beautiful building, despite even your love of a good story about me eating strange foods, nothing trumps the intrigue of a great story: Tracy Vaught and Hugo Ortega are plenty of story to tell. Tracy is an idiosyncratic restaurant owner, perhaps owing to her background not in restaurants but in geology. Looking for a career change from the isolating business of rock analysis, Tracy considered a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tracy s attentiveness to her employees revealed to her that Hugo was hard working, eager, and intelligent and she offered him a position on the kitchen line. Vaught was in the middle of trying to turn around a second business, Prego, from its defunct state and she promoted Ortega to the kitchen there where he gained experience with Executive Chef John Watt. It was then that Tracy decided to invest in her rising star employee, enrolling Hugo in the Culinary Arts program at HCC where he impressed teachers and department heads ...
