New France Contributions To Canada
New France In the development of what is known today as Canada, during the Elizabethan era, there
was a series was highly documented and, surprisingly, not well known occurrences. The colonization
of New France set the foundation for Canada. The early settlers grew as a nation while holding true to
some teachings of the French. The French were originally on the search for an alternative route for
Asia and instead stumbled upon what was soon to become their greatest achievement. The French set
out to trade in Asia, but found ever growing success from the new land, despite every complication.
The development of New France began with explorers who established a good reputation for both the
colonies and themselves. Esteemed military and political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Theatrical and musical performances were condemned by religious authorities although it was a
common pastime. (Canadian Museum of History) The consequences of malnutrition on lengthy sea
voyages were not understood...the causes of infectious disease and the means of controlling their
devastating effects were not well known...knowledge about diseases and cures were still based on
writing by authors from antiquity , so stated in the Canadian Museum of History, according to this
belief, health depended on an equilibrium on the four main humors ...blood, phlegm, yellow bile, and
black bile. These practices were not always practical. Daily life was filled with ideas from these
teachings. For instance, the Canadian Museum of History stated potatoes were considered pigs food
and were not to be eaten by humans, the tomatoes were thought to be a poisonous fruit and thorough
cleanings were discouraged because medical theories claimed that diseases entered the body through
the skin and water was the source to open pores and give way to the development of

Scm and Erp Software Implementation at Nike – from Failure...
Introduction: Nike was founded under the name Blue Ribbon Sports in 1964. In 1972 the first pair of
sports shoes was sold and experienced enormous growth and achieved a 50% market share within the
sports shoe market in the US only eight years later. After sluggish focus and growth in the 1980ies,
Nike experienced strong growth in the 1990ies and cemented the position as global recognizable
brand. The increased international focus created strains on the supply chain, which was consider
inadequate to cater efficiently to the organization and the rapid changes consumer demands . As a
consequence of the afore mentioned supply chain problem Nike faced inefficient inventory
management, problems in flow of goods and poor demand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

McAfee of Harvard Business School has said: What Nike and i2 Technologies Inc. began experiencing
the problem actually is not the software itself... The culprit there was misspecification Further on the
subject of customization, Nike had great difficulties balancing customization with speed to market. I
believe the external factors of significant competition, changing market place and resulting
disappointing financial performance in growth markets lead Nike to rush the implementation and
interfered with normal OBB. The rushing meant that a guideline, templates and implementation
methodology was discarded by Nike with the argument that the i2 provided material was too rigid. In
general I would argue that Nike required technology that was not sufficiently available at the time.
This pushed i2 to enter unknown software territory and program to order disabling sufficient time for
vendor/developer testing. The criticality of this was further boosted due to lack of testing from Nike,
which clearly illustrates faults in phase 4 of the implementation as well. (Appendix 3) Lastly, I find
evidence that a global ERP and SCM software potentially would be difficult to manage successfully at
the time due to the structural issue of underdeveloped bandwidth infrastructure , which could indicate
Nike required a technical solution which was not

A Sand County Almanac Aldo Leopold Analysis
In part II of A Sand County Almanac Aldo Leopold continues to talk about Wisconsin, but also talks
about other various places across North America he has visited. I think his experiences across North
America have influenced his philosophy toward nature and management because Leopold traveled
North America, as he shows in part II he has walked its mountains and crossed its swamps. As a result
Leopold observed firsthand the interdependence of the world, because when he opens part II about the
cranes of Wisconsin then later he talks about Sandhill Cranes when he recounts his trip in the Gulf of
the Colorado River located in Sonora, Mexico. Looking at my National Geographic field guide for
birds I can see that Sandhill Cranes summer breeding ground reaches into southern Wisconsin and its
winter non breeding ground is around the USA Mexico border, so he likely has witnessed the
differences in their behavior during the breeding and the non breeding season. ... Show more content

As a result Leopold knew from his travels that one can learn from the mistakes of what happened to
animals like the passenger pigeon throughout North America and the bear in Escudilla things that
happen locally can have a non local effect like causing the deer population to rise. Leopold has not yet
sufficiently talked about his opinion on manage for me to know with certainty what he thinks about
management, it does look as though he will talk more about that in part III. Right now I would not be
surprised to see him in favor of protection for animals and plants, because of the way he talks of the
Passenger Pigeon and its monument, also the way he talks of the Wisconsin marshlands and the efforts
of government via the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) during FDR s administration to restore the

Opression Of Women In The Story Of An Hour
In the short story, The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, the main character receives depressing news
that her husband was involved in a deadly train accident. Initially, Mrs. Mallard falls into shock and
has the normal feelings anyone would have when losing a loved one; such as depression, denial,
anger, etc. Wanting to escape this cruel reality she locks herself in her room and begins to process
these emotions. She described this possession of self assertion which she suddenly recognize as the
strongest impulse of her being... [she thought this as she whispered] free! Body and soul free! . After
doing so, she becomes aware of the fact that she is ultimately relieved to be free from the chain that
held her down within her marriage.
When Mrs. Mallard escapes to the tranquility of her room to be alone with her emotions, her eyes
catch the view outside her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once Mrs. Mallard came to the conclusion that she would be able to make a life for herself and have
her own individual impact on the world without a man and that was something her subconscious
desired. She realizes how she was actually not happy at all in her relationship an yet she loved him
sometimes. Often she did not . This is a key moment in Mrs. Mallards life, because this is where she
comes to the realization that she has more to offer in life and desires to be free. Chopin uses Mrs.
Mallard symbolically represents women during the depression and their desires to be free whether or
not the know if they do or not.
Chopin uses this line, a joy that kills , uses irony to demonstrate how the people around her do not
understand Mrs. Mallard. Again, Mrs. Mallard demonstrates women as a unit, and the people around
her symbolizes society. Ultimately women wish to be independent from men in society and have their

Spina Bifida
For this article review, the assignment was to choose an article from The Journal of Diagnostic
Medical Sonography. I chose the article Spina Bifida: A Review of the Importance of Sonography s
Role in Its Detection written by Elke Wingate, AS, RDMS, RT(R); Jody Hancock, MAED, RDMS,
RT(R); Kelley Churchwell, AS, RDMS, RT(R); and Monica Pipkins, RDMS, RVT. In this article, the
authors discuss the role of sonography in detecting spina bifida. I chose this article because we briefly
talked about using sonography to detect spina bifida in babies, and I wanted to learn more about it. I
was almost born with spina bifida, so it is very interesting to me. Spina bifida is one of the most
common neural tube defects, in which there is an incomplete ... Show more content on

terms of closed spina bifida. For increased accuracy, the fetal spine should be evaluated in all three

sonography, the parents of the twins from the case study would not be prepared for a different

The Decline Of Human Cultural Diversity
Languages are being rapidly lost, at a rate of extinction. Serious concerns over the impending loss of
human cultural diversity have caused many organizations to actively start engaging in the upkeep of
languages. Early studies have identified areas with a high number of endangered languages, and
preformed investigations. What they came across was the population size of the culture, and how vast
of an area the language is spoken in, are key factors to the decline of languages. Other factors include;
mass genocide, evolution, economics growth or decline, religion, a change in culture can be a partial
cause for the endangerment or extinction of a language. The main factor is usually when a more
powerful and pronounced language over takes the smaller subdivision languages, somewhat related to
what the Lingua franca. An example of this would be in Canada. In parts of Canada such as Quebec
the primary language is French, but in other many places in Canada, Toronto, Thunder Bay, Montreal,
the primary language is English, so French is become less common throughout the country. The more
powerful and know language allows for less language barriers, and allows easier communication. So
what does it mean for a language to become endangered? It means extinction may be in the near
future. Only a few people still speak the language and when they become deceased the language will
soon cease to exist, unless they preserve documents or it continues to get passed on. How many
languages

Langstone Hughes Harlem
At first glance, the poem Harlem by Langstone Hughes appears to be just a simple poem about
thwarted dreams and desires. However, this poem is much more than what it first appears to be. This
simile drenched poem is actually a reflection of the constant struggles for acceptance and equality
faced by African Americans, during an era when racism played a large part in the average mindset of
society. The title of this poem is named after a predominantly African American neighborhood in
uptown Manhattan. This neighborhood acted as a sort of sanctuary for the African American people, in
a racist society. The people who lived in Harlem had far more opportunities to freely express
themselves and to escape segregation. Langstone Hughes s cleaver

Consumer Privacy Companies Woo Business Companies
The article, found in The Wall Street Journal, Consumer Privacy Companies Woo Business
Companies by Elizabeth Dwoskin, gives us a brief overlook at how more products are aiming toward
the protection of consumers privacy. On March 2nd, Silent Circle announced the release of their
Blackphone as an enterprise product. The Blackphone is an android phone announced last year that
aims at giving its consumers total privacy. It accomplishes this by encrypting all data stored by voice
or text message. Additionally calls and data are sent through virtual private networks not through the
Internet. In doing so it grants ultimate protection for the user by insuring that no information can get
hacked into because it has never been connected to the Internet. Although this product was already
released last year, this year the company is pursuing businesses to use it as solely a company use
phone. With about 40% of people using their personal phones for business, major companies are put at
risk of losing significant information. Silent Circle s products are able to give ease to this possibility.
Over recent years, consumers have been putting a greater emphasis on online privacy. An increasing
amount of users are purchasing privacy protecting programs designed to protect personal information
stored in computers. With recent hacks to major companies, businesses are also increasing their cyber
security. Experts predict that the spending on cyber security product will increase to $83.2

My Youngest Daughter s Wedding Reception
My youngest daughter s wedding reception was on Sunday. I had to pick up the cake at 10:30 AM that
morning, and dutifully I was on my way. The local talk radio station was doing a Sunday morning
garden program. I lasted about 4 minutes with that. My new iPod does not fit my older iPod setup so
well, so I was forced to slip back to frequency modulation for something to listen to. Classic rock was
thankfully there to save me from myself.
The first tune played was Billy Idol s Rebel Yell. Yeah, I yelled a lot. I m not a huge fan of pretend
tough guys from the 1980 s with bleached, spiked hair and wearing fingerless gloves ya know for that
I m a pretend biker look?
Following on Billy s heels was another Billy Billy Joel. Okay Piano Man, go find a lounge
somewhere. Next up in the hit parade was the Police Every Step You Take. The only Police/Sting
songs I can stomach are of course Roxanne, and Message in a Bottle, and none too much of that.
When Sting finished serenading me I figured I might get lucky and have a goody come my way, but
no, it was not to be. Of all the Pink Floyd catalog I only have one that I really just do not care for The
Wall. Guess what Floyd song WKLR played at that very moment? Yep . . . hey, teacher, leave them
kids alone . . . . Thankfully I turned into my Mom s neighborhood where the shower was being held.

U.s. Military Policy Policies
Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States, began his presidency dealing with many
foreign policy issues left behind by his predecessor, George Bush. President Bush was unable to solve
many foreign policy problems faced by our country prior to leaving office. Some of these included the
wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Arab Israeli conflict, illegal immigration, and improving U.S.
relations with Cuba. President Obama was faced with the question of how to handle the number troops
in Iraq and Afghanistan and ultimately how to end or lessen U.S. military involvement in these
nations. Similar to other presidents, President Obama had to tackle improving the relationship between
Arabs and Israelis. He was also faced with the problem of how to handle illegal immigrants and
border patrol. A weak relationship between the U.S. and Cuba was another foreign policy issue that
President Obama was faced with having to improve. This is President Obama s last year as president.
Overall, he has done a decent job with foreign policy, excelling in some areas, and falling short in
others.
Background Information
Barack Hussein Obama was born on August 4th, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was elected the 44th
president of the United States of America in 2008, and won a Nobel Peace Prize in the following year.

Five Signature Themes Analysis
Signature themes are skills we innately possess that can develop into talents and strengths used to
produce excellence. Personally, my five signature themes; empathy, achiever, learner, strategic, and
connectedness, have been apparent my entire life and can develop into strengths promoting success in
my future. Few aspects of my strengths came as a surprise, other than how accurate my assessment
was. Others see my empathy and signature themes as weaknesses needing improvement, but now I
realize that I can grow my skills into my greatest strengths to succeed in my future career, my spiritual
journey and in my relationships.

Habitually I bring together multiple pieces of information eagerly referring to my newly acquired
knowledge, both with school and with family and friends. Typically, I become frustrated until I figure
out why events happen the way they do, which helps me strive to learn as much as I can about it. With
goals of being a Psychologist these themes can help me by setting the goal of my PhD, giving me the
stamina to achieve my goal, the quest for knowledge in my field, and relentlessly pursuing my degree
to become the best Psychologist I can be. Learner and Achiever can also improve my spiritual journey

His Airness Michael Jordan
Throughout all the years I have been involved with sports, I ve learned Michael Jordan is one of the
most prolific athletes of his time. We define success as achieving wealth, respect, or fame, and Jordan
has accomplished more than most men will even attempt in their lifetime. Some try and compare
today s superstar athletes such as LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant with the great Michael Jordan, but I
am here to tell you that is impossible. Jordan changed the game and made it what it is today. Jordan s
life is filled with struggle and triumph. Despite all of the obstacles he faced, he still became one of the
best basketball players of his time.
Like most of us, Michael Jordan grew up in a normal home with normal family members. Jordan was
the fourth of five kids being raised by their mother and father, Deloris and James Jordan. The Jordan
family moved from Brooklyn, New York to North Carolina, where the young superstar could make a
name for himself. Just as Canadian recording artist Drake expresses in his popular new single,
Michael Jordan actually started from the bottom so far at the bottom that he got cut from the high
school basketball team his sophomore year for not being tall enough. This motivated Jordan to do
great things later in his life; he was quoted in his later years saying Obstacles don t have to stop you. If
you run into a wall, don t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work
around it . The very next year after a long

Trader Joe s Marketing Model
Introduction Founded in 1958 by Joe Coulombe and now established with more than 365 stores in the
United States, Trader Joe s has been serving customers with their unique business model. Trader Joe s
specializes in organic and natural food offering staples like milk, eggs, and other foods with below
average price points. Trader Joe s encourage their customers to buy the product at a low price without
having to be registered with the store. Once the company makes contacts with the manufacturer of the
particular food product, it then establishes contracts with the producer to the supply the food and
allocates the space needed in their store (Trader Joe s, 2016).
Analysis
Trader Joe s sells gourmet foods to its customers with a low cost business model, which may seem
very difficult to maintain, due to the rising costs in the international markets and the United States.
However, with Trader Joe s long term experience in operations and limited variety of products, this
enables the company to reduce costs and transfer those savings to their customers. Furthermore,
Trader Joe s has a very efficient management process that allows keeping the product costs down to
keep their customers satisfied. The management process is very significant for Trader Joe s in which
they have planned marvelously to carry certain products which is obtained at a discounted price from
their suppliers. Additionally, Trader Joe s keep costs down to a minimum by choosing non prime store

Analysis Of The Play Macbeth
Abigail Castillo
WHUM
December 2014
Final exam
Macbeth
There are many conflicts found in the play Macbeth by Shakespeare both external and internal. There
is man vs. society, man vs. self, man vs. man, and even man vs. supernatural. In my opinion, I believe
that the central conflict in Macbeth s plot is man vs. self, an internal conflict. This internal conflict
begins when Macbeth overhears the three witch sisters, also known as the Weird Sisters, making a
prediction that one day he will be become King and rule. From this point on in the play, he (Macbeth)
is conflicted about murdering Duncan, King of Scotland, in order to gain power. Macbeth starts of the
play as a good, honest warrior and the well trusted captain of King Duncan. Macbeth begins to
experience the conflict of man vs self because of his wise to become king (as well as his trust in the
witches prediction) which directly goes against his loyalty to King Duncan. Even though he goes
through internal conflicts with himself over committing this crime many times his ambition wins, and
he becomes a killer. His conscience seems to overcome everything else by the end, and this is also true
for other characters in the play. This ambition combined with guilt creates a man vs self conflict all
throughout the play. Ambition has severe consequences as seen when Macbeth is slain and branded a
tyrant. Shakespeare does not give his character the chance to enjoy what he has done as a way
possibly to imply that it is more

John Ruskin s Impact On Society
To do what one thinks and believes in, regardless of the positive or negative outcome, is very
important in society to create change. This is something people are lacking today. John Ruskin has a
famous quote, supporting this idea. What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the
end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do. To start off, society has this idea that
consequences are only negative affects, but really, the definition of consequence is a result or effect of
an action or condition. Using all of that to understand the quote from John Ruskin, I interpreted it in
the way that all people have thoughts, knowledge, and beliefs. But, what the people do with those
thoughts, knowledge, and beliefs, are what will make a change in the end. If no one tells their ideas,
how will anything ever change? A prime example of a person who wasn t afraid to tell their beliefs
would be Martin Luther King Jr. He was not phased by people judging him for his skin color or
beliefs. He just said what he thought was right, and although he died for it, he did change society in a
positive way. I strongly agree with Ruskin s quote because change only occurs when someone goes
out of their way to try and cause it.
Generally speaking, it seems like the most common subjects people are afraid to speak out about is
regarding government and the economy. In 1984 by George Orwell, it shows an entire society who can
not speak out about their beliefs, and if they do

Background and Significance
The World Wide Web was invented in 1989 by Tim Berners Lee ( World Wide Web, 2006, Para. 1). He
started a whole new way of doing things in business. Companies now can use the power of the internet
to sell their products. Today thousands of sites can advertise their goods on websites such as Myspace,
Facebook, and such search engines like Google. Many of these sites offer free ... Show more content

2). There are many different ways to catch and pull in the clientele that a company is searching for, but
before choosing what type of internet marketing approach is best for the company s money, the
marketing team must know some basic steps. They should start off by finding a target market and look
into regional ad buys, also they ought to research discounts that internet sources are offering (
Advertising isn t cheap, n.d., para.1 4).
One good way to start is by advertising on large search engines such as Yahoo, Google, and Web
Crawler. This is called paid keyword search and contextual adverting, but much larger known as SEM
which is the abbreviation for Search Engine Marketing. This is an ideal way for the small businessman
or business owner to get the most bang out of his or hers buck. A business owner can buy little ads that
come up when one searches a related topic to their product. For instance, a company is specializing in
manufacturing windows and siding. If a person is looking to replace their windows or siding and is
searching a search engine to figure out how to go about doing it, when that person enters the keyword
siding a little ad for that company specializing in that product or service is going to come up. SEM
adverting is a fast growing way to advertise. It is so fast that

My Statement Of Purpose For Engineering Management
In today s rapidly growing world technology is advancing in multiple folds, so to manage it in an
efficient way is a need of an hour. In a constrained workplace management of the technology is
inevitable. Since my academics, I have been driven by the wonders of science and technology around
us and going forward I want to foster the skills to manage the technology oriented organizations. After
completing my undergraduate in Industrial engineering I worked in managerial role in marketing
department of technical products, so I realized the significance of both technology and management in
globalized world. In order to hone my skills I recognized that engineering management is an apt
course to equip me with required skillset. Engineering Management is a specialized form which is
concerned with the application of engineering principles to business practice. It focuses on marketing,
finance, law and business management; subjects which I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Industrial engineering benefited me with basic fundamentals of mechanicals along with principles of
industrial engineering and management along with my favorite subjects like quantitative techniques,

to complete my undergraduate with first class but also developed my interest for further studies.
During my four years of academic course of engineering I participated in many national levels
technical events of robotics in which I secured 1st prize in VIT and COEP collages. During final year
of under graduation I completed a project work in SKF India Ltd in Total Productive Maintenance
(TPM). In this project work I found the non productive activities, bottleneck in the process and

The Interpretation Of Dutchman. Baraka
Interpretation of Dutchman
Baraka was born on October 7, 1934. He graduated from high school at the age of 15. Soon after, he
attended Rutgers University, thanks to a science scholarship. Once a year went by, he transferred to
Howard University and eventually received a B.A. in English in 1954. After college, he served in the
Air Force for several years. Upon returning home, Baraka moved to Greenwich Village and plunged
into a bohemian lifestyle that was influenced by the aesthetic protests of the Beat generation. He
gained recognition as a music critic, did graduate work in philosophy at Columbia University and the
New School for Social Research, and taught courses at both schools as well as at the State University

She sees Clay, who was the only person on the subway at the time, looking at her through the window.
She takes that as a seductive invitation and boards the subway. She approaches him and is very
forward with him as they converse and eat apples. During their conversation, Lula attempts to be
alluring, mysterious, and at times, standoffish.
After becoming more acquainted with one another, Clay realizes other passengers have boarded. He
becomes uncomfortable and less intimate with Lula. Eventually, Lula s actions become more peculiar
to Clay. She begins offending and embarrassing him. He chases her around the subway train, then
snaps, yelling and cursing. As he takes his leave, Lula stabs him and several male passengers carry his
corpse away.
Since Dutchman was written in 1963, the play was heavily influenced by the Civil Rights Movement
and racism is a reoccurring theme. Baraka lived with a white woman in a predominately Caucasian
community, and he d felt as though he was not being true to himself. That was where he got the
inspiration for Clay s character. It is often pointed out in the film by Lula that Clay is acting like a
white man and is pretensions for that. She sees him as a stereotype, constantly commenting I know the
type (Dutchman). I assume she doesn t actually knows the type, but instead she know the stereotypes
associated with African American male. Through this knowledge, she is able guess certain details of
Clay s life. She constantly

The Proposal For Jewish Proselytization And John Crocker...
One can draw interesting parallels between the proposal for Jewish proselytization and John Crocker s
biography of Samuel Johnson. To quote the remarks of one reviewer of Crocker s book, the merits of
Mr. Crocker s performance are on a par with those of a certain leg of mutton on which Dr. Johnson
dined, while travelling from London to Oxford, and which he, with characteristic energy, pronounced
to be as bad as bad could be, ill fed, ill killed, ill kept, and ill dressed. Similarly, the aforementioned
proposal is ill conceived, ill advised, and unfortunately, illness inducing. It bears mentioning that the
ardent advocates of Jewish proselytization are not pious Haredim men who spend their days poring
over the timeless texts of tradition nor are they of the Modern Orthodox persuasion, a coterie who
attempts the Sisyphean task of synthesizing values both ancient and modern. No, these zealous
purveyors of Judaism have emerged from the lonely pews and desolate temples of the more
progressive Reform and Conservative movements, a truth which is acutely revelatory. Salvific
imperialism is a notion foreign to both Judaism and a historically conscious conservatism. As Jewish
apathy to conversion is a subject well tread, it suffices to repeat that there remains no indication
whatsoever within the Bible that the Jews sought out converts. This inattention to missionizing reflects
Jewish recognition that Gentiles could achieve moral perfection outside the suffocating strictures

Understanding Latin America s International and Economic...
Prior to analyzing the ISI (Import Substitution Industrialization) model, it s benefits as well as its
shortcomings, a small introduction of how it came to be and why must be provided. As a product of
the 1930s economic crisis and wear and tear of the liberal model, ISI appears in Latin America as
another economic option, proposed by ECLA (Economic Commission for Latin America, dependent
of the UN) as a means of bringing Latin America out of stagnation and work towards industrialization
to eliminate its dependency on agriculture which was seen as vulnerable.
There are two critical ways in which this model must be examined, theoretically as well as its concrete
outcomes and policy implications within Latin American states. By looking at ... Show more content

Therefore, it was believed that Latin America instead of following outward looking development path
should instead pursue an ISI policy as the centre piece for a new inward directed development strategy
(Kay 5), following the beginning footsteps of the developed states.
Although its main goal was to strengthen the national economy to better compete in the global market,
ISI has had very controversial results. Positively speaking, it has resulted in a decrease in imports,
which has favoured certain national industries such as electric materials for construction, textiles,
chemicals, etc., the nationalization of natural resources, betterment of term of trade, state intervention
in economics (which led to the development of education, health and employment), strengthening of
social organizations, but most importantly, the consolidation of the middle class. On a negative note,
these nations led to become greatly dependent on technology, there was an increase of external capital
control over developed areas, an under qualified labour force for factory jobs, increase in prices of
manufactured goods and inflation, migration from rural to urban areas and as a result an increase in
social problems, and finally, the industrial sector did not bother to conquer external markets which
essentially contradicted the whole purpose of ISI. For these reasons ISI was seen as a

An Analysis of the Use of Nanotechnology in Electrical...
The energy demand all over the world is expected to be 28 terawatts by 2050, which can lead to
increase of energy consumption patterns and greenhouse gas production. (P.Alivisatos et al. 2005) One
of the most significant issues the industrialised world is facing today is the energy challenge, issues
associated with energy production, storage and reducing consumption of energy use. The use of
energy has reason to rise over time due to an increase in the world population and the discovery of
new technologies which require electrical energy. The electrical energy is used everywhere, from
heating homes to manufacturing. The energy resources are divided into two types: alternative and
traditional energy resources. The global energy challenge is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The aim of this paper is to analyse the use of nanotechnology in alternative energy production, storage
and as a means of reducing energy consumption. Roger A.Hinriches and Merlin Kleinbach (2006)
declared (claimed) that every day the earth surface receives thousands of times more energy from the
Sun than it consumed in all other resources . Cleanliness, availability and renewability of solar energy
make it virtually ideal. (Grant E.Gardner, 2008). The use of solar energy for production of electricity
is based on the photoelectric effect. The photoelectric effect is a process, when light strikes certain
metals and, as a result, electrons are emitted from the metal surface. (Hugh D.Young, Roger
A.Freedman 2008). Photovoltaic cells (PV), known as solar cells, are devices which collect radiation
energy in the form of sunlight and convert into electricity. Solar cells are made of semiconducting
materials, especially silicon. Silicon absorbs photons of light which strike the cells. The energy of the
absorbed light transfers to the silicon semiconductor, after that this energy pushes electrons out. This
is why the can flow freely which leads to the emergence of electric current. The electrical energy from
solar cells can then be used directly. However, considerable amount of solar energy on PV cells

4. INCREMENTAL MODEL. This model involves continues user feedback and interactions resulting
in a product that is much closer to user expectations. The development is built up from an initial
Prototype that is continuously being developed and tested. The requirements of the incremental model
is divided into various builds where multiple development cycles take place. This creates a multi
waterfall cycle and the cycles are divided up into smaller, more easily managed modules. Each
module passes through the requirements, design, implementation and testing phases. A working

Houston s belief in low costs, privatization and decentralization is apparent in the structure and
practices of the Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) which administers to the third most
populous county in the United States. The HCFCD is a special purpose district organized in 1937 to
design, implement and maintain flood reduction infrastructure and programs for the entirety of the
county including Houston City. For this, they retain only 380 full time employees. This necessitates
that nearly all engineering design and maintenance work for capital projects is contracted to the
private sector through a bidding process. Similarly, 100% of routine maintenance in contracted out to

Self Driving Impact On Society
A new technology is approaching, and it may change the world forever. Imagine a planet where traffic
does not exist and there are no more drunk drivers on the roads putting people s lives in danger. With
the invention of self driving cars, this dream world can be made into reality. A self driving car is
exactly what it sounds like, a car that operates on its own without a human driver. They have raised
many controversies as to whether this invention is good or bad. Many people believe that self driving
cars are a threat to humanity, but it is the complete opposite. Self Driving Cars will have a positive
impact on society for many different reasons. In the year 2013, 3,154 people were killed due to
distracted driver related crashes. Motor vehicle accidents are the number two leading cause of
preventable deaths. Once driverless cars are put onto the streets, these numbers would decrease
drastically. Imagine losing your loved one due to a teenager that was drunk or texting while driving.
Self driving cars cannot drink behind the wheel nor take a text back their best friend. Not only does
accident collisions happen due to distracted driving but also angry drivers. Some drivers can be very
aggressive on the road. With the addition of driverless cars, road rage drivers can be eliminated from
society. Speeding drivers are also a very high cause of accidents and innocent pedestrians being hit.

Understanding The Language Spoken Throughout Their Eyes...
Bond analyzes the language spoken throughout Their Eyes Were Watching God as appropriate and
crucial to understanding Afro American literature. Hurston s skill in dialect writing emphasizes the
cultural tradition within the south. Not only does Hurston demonstrate black oral tradition, but she
also utilizes southern dialect to critique a male dominated society. Hurston uses literary references,
such as the pear tree to scrutinize her awakening self love. These illustrations that occur in notable
occasions of the novel are signified by the citizens of Eatonville. Lige Moss sheds light on Tony
Taylor s rhetorical inadequacy, just as Janie demonstrates her oration skills to expose the male
tradition of signifying. Her expressive rhetoric angers Joe because It is he who had aspired to being a
big voice, a status dependent on the submissive silence of his wife (46). Women are expected to keep
their mouths shut, so when Janie breaks this cultural boundary she is looked down upon. Bond further
analyzes this signifying game by giving examples of women being used as objects rather than
speakers. Janie s marriage to Joe initially represents the lack of voice women have until Janie uses
figurative language to displace his power figure. Through the utilization of rhetoric, Janie is able to
free herself from the hierarchical sexual difference prescribed within the roles of her marriage (49).
Janie s demise of Joe represents a huge step towards competitive figurative speech.

Comparative analysis of the rise of religious extremism...
Comparative analysis of the rise of religious extremism in Arab and Indian Politics
The cases being discussed by the authors here are more significant than the discussion of any other
Muslim or Hindu nation because of the fact that these cases discuss the role of these religions in their
respective birthplaces. We can realize the importance of this point by considering, for example that the
Islamic countries worldwide look towards the Arabic ulemas for validation of their Islamic policies
and also each fatwa issued by the Arab ulemas is almost always followed by a similar action by their
counterparts in other countries. Similarly, though Hinduism doesn t have a transnational appeal like
Islam, Hindus all over the world still regard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In many of the countries the non Islamic population is not sufficiently large to be perceived as a threat
to Islam, and thus the jihad or the fight for reformation is mostly with members of the same
community who are perceived as a threat to the establishment of an Islamic state.
This economic gap, as well as the growing westernization of the secularist elements, is used by the
Islamists to gain a following among the traditional elements of the society. Thus, the present condition
of the society is projected as a result of western hegemony which is creating conditions similar to the
pre Islamic jahiliyyah in Arab, marked by growing oppression, materialism and moral laxity. A return
to Islam is projected as the only hope for preserving the culture and morality of the society, and Allah
s will.
The rise of the BJP, RSS and Hindu extremism at large in India has, on the other hand, a number of
different causes. Hindus and Muslims lived together relatively peacefully till the beginning of the 20th
century, even though Islam in India spread through often forcible conversions by the Mughal rulers.
The gradual worsening of relations between the two communities during the early 20th century can be
attributed to the British policies of divide and rule, such as creating separate electorates for the

During the 1960 s, music began to change. From President Kennedy s assassination, to the Vietnam

and music was used to reflect this change. The Vietnam War began almost unnoticed by Americans
but became a dominating fact of American politics by the mid 1960 s and the American views of the

The Life Of Margaret Sanger And Planned Motherhood
Imagine finding yourself pregnant at the age of 30 with your ninth child. You live in a small apartment
and you are unable to feed all of the members of your large family, also clueless as to how to prevent
future pregnancies. This story would not be too far from reality for many women over a hundred years
ago. It is also similar in ways to the life of Margaret Sanger, a women s rights activist who is
responsible for the family planning movement that started birth control. Margaret Sanger s mother had
11 children and 18 pregnancies, that definitely took a destructive toll on her body, and she died at only
46 years old (Yasunari 2000). Margaret took notice of what happened to her mother and many other
women, inspiring her to make it her life s work to help women have more control over their bodies
and families. Margaret s work grew famous for the beginning of a birth control movement and the
later creation of Planned Parenthood, but it also has a sometimes dark side of eugenics. She went to
college to be a nurse and treated many women who continued to have children, even though they were
wishing to prevent pregnancies. Margaret saw a correlation between impoverished struggling families
and having a large number of children. Margaret referred to women being slaves to their bodies and
involuntary motherhood, and also that by age 35, motherhood often exhausted women s bodies
(Katzive 2015). She also probably noticed how desperate some women were to prevent pregnancies.

The culprit there was misspecification Further on the subject of customization, Nike had great difficulties balancing customization with speed to market. I believe the external factors of significant competition, changing market place and resulting disappointing financial performance in growth markets lead Nike to rush the implementation and interfered with normal OBB. The rushing meant that a guideline, templates and implementation methodology was discarded by Nike with the argument that the i2 provided material was too rigid. In general I would argue that Nike required technology that was not sufficiently available at the time. This pushed i2 to enter unknown software territory and program to order disabling sufficient time for vendor/developer testing. The criticality of this was further boosted due to lack of testing from Nike, which clearly illustrates faults in phase 4 of the implementation as well. (Appendix 3) Lastly, I find evidence that a global ERP and SCM software potentially would be difficult to manage successfully at the time due to the structural issue of underdeveloped bandwidth infrastructure , which could indicate Nike required a technical solution which was not ... A Sand County Almanac Aldo Leopold Analysis In part II of A Sand County Almanac Aldo Leopold continues to talk about Wisconsin, but also talks about other various places across North America he has visited. I think his experiences across North America have influenced his philosophy toward nature and management because Leopold traveled North America, as he shows in part II he has walked its mountains and crossed its swamps. As a result Leopold observed firsthand the interdependence of the world, because when he opens part II about the cranes of Wisconsin then later he talks about Sandhill Cranes when he recounts his trip in the Gulf of the Colorado River located in Sonora, Mexico. Looking at my National Geographic field guide for birds I can see that Sandhill Cranes summer breeding ground reaches into southern Wisconsin and its winter non breeding ground is around the USA Mexico border, so he likely has witnessed the differences in their behavior during the breeding and the non breeding season. ... Serious concerns over the impending loss of human cultural diversity have caused many organizations to actively start engaging in the upkeep of languages. Early studies have identified areas with a high number of endangered languages, and preformed investigations. What they came across was the population size of the culture, and how vast of an area the language is spoken in, are key factors to the decline of languages. Other factors include; mass genocide, evolution, economics growth or decline, religion, a change in culture can be a partial cause for the endangerment or extinction of a language. The main factor is usually when a more powerful and pronounced language over takes the smaller subdivision languages, somewhat related to what the Lingua franca. An example of this would be in Canada. In parts of Canada such as Quebec the primary language is French, but in other many places in Canada, Toronto, Thunder Bay, Montreal, the primary language is English, so French is become less common throughout the country. The more powerful and know language allows for less language barriers, and allows easier communication. So what does it mean for a language to become endangered? It means extinction may be in the near future. Only a few people still speak the language and when they become deceased the language will soon cease to exist, unless they preserve documents or it continues to get passed on. How many languages ... The title of this poem is named after a predominantly African American neighborhood in uptown Manhattan. On March 2nd, Silent Circle announced the release of their Blackphone as an enterprise product. The Blackphone is an android phone announced last year that aims at giving its consumers total privacy. It accomplishes this by encrypting all data stored by voice or text message. Additionally calls and data are sent through virtual private networks not through the Internet. In doing so it grants ultimate protection for the user by insuring that no information can get hacked into because it has never been connected to the Internet. Although this product was already released last year, this year the company is pursuing businesses to use it as solely a company use phone. With about 40% of people using their personal phones for business, major companies are put at risk of losing significant information. Silent Circle s products are able to give ease to this possibility. Over recent years, consumers have been putting a greater emphasis on online privacy. • 20. Analysis Of The Play Macbeth Abigail Castillo WHUM December 2014 Final exam Macbeth There are many conflicts found in the play Macbeth by Shakespeare both external and internal. There is man vs. society, man vs. self, man vs. man, and even man vs. supernatural. In my opinion, I believe that the central conflict in Macbeth s plot is man vs. self, an internal conflict. This internal conflict begins when Macbeth overhears the three witch sisters, also known as the Weird Sisters, making a prediction that one day he will be become King and rule. From this point on in the play, he (Macbeth) is conflicted about murdering Duncan, King of Scotland, in order to gain power. Macbeth starts of the play as a good, honest warrior and the well trusted captain of King Duncan. Macbeth begins to experience the conflict of man vs self because of his wise to become king (as well as his trust in the witches prediction) which directly goes against his loyalty to King Duncan. Even though he goes through internal conflicts with himself over committing this crime many times his ambition wins, and he becomes a killer. His conscience seems to overcome everything else by the end, and this is also true for other characters in the play. This ambition combined with guilt creates a man vs self conflict all throughout the play. Ambition has severe consequences as seen when Macbeth is slain and branded a tyrant. • 21. John Ruskin s Impact On Society To do what one thinks and believes in, regardless of the positive or negative outcome, is very important in society to create change. This is something people are lacking today. John Ruskin has a famous quote, supporting this idea. What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do. To start off, society has this idea that consequences are only negative affects, but really, the definition of consequence is a result or effect of an action or condition. Using all of that to understand the quote from John Ruskin, I interpreted it in the way that all people have thoughts, knowledge, and beliefs. But, what the people do with those thoughts, knowledge, and beliefs, are what will make a change in the end. If no one tells their ideas, how will anything ever change? A prime example of a person who wasn t afraid to tell their beliefs would be Martin Luther King Jr. He was not phased by people judging him for his skin color or beliefs. He just said what he thought was right, and although he died for it, he did change society in a positive way. I strongly agree with Ruskin s quote because change only occurs when someone goes out of their way to try and cause it. Generally speaking, it seems like the most common subjects people are afraid to speak out about is regarding government and the economy. In 1984 by George Orwell, it shows an entire society who can not speak out about their beliefs, and if they do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He chases her around the subway train, then snaps, yelling and cursing. As he takes his leave, Lula stabs him and several male passengers carry his corpse away. Since Dutchman was written in 1963, the play was heavily influenced by the Civil Rights Movement and racism is a reoccurring theme. Baraka lived with a white woman in a predominately Caucasian community, and he d felt as though he was not being true to himself. That was where he got the inspiration for Clay s character. It is often pointed out in the film by Lula that Clay is acting like a white man and is pretensions for that. She sees him as a stereotype, constantly commenting I know the type (Dutchman). • 25. The Proposal For Jewish Proselytization And John Crocker... One can draw interesting parallels between the proposal for Jewish proselytization and John Crocker s biography of Samuel Johnson. To quote the remarks of one reviewer of Crocker s book, the merits of Mr. Crocker s performance are on a par with those of a certain leg of mutton on which Dr. Johnson dined, while travelling from London to Oxford, and which he, with characteristic energy, pronounced to be as bad as bad could be, ill fed, ill killed, ill kept, and ill dressed. Similarly, the aforementioned proposal is ill conceived, ill advised, and unfortunately, illness inducing. It bears mentioning that the ardent advocates of Jewish proselytization are not pious Haredim men who spend their days poring over the timeless texts of tradition nor are they of the Modern Orthodox persuasion, a coterie who attempts the Sisyphean task of synthesizing values both ancient and modern. No, these zealous purveyors of Judaism have emerged from the lonely pews and desolate temples of the more progressive Reform and Conservative movements, a truth which is acutely revelatory. Salvific imperialism is a notion foreign to both Judaism and a historically conscious conservatism. As Jewish apathy to conversion is a subject well tread, it suffices to repeat that there remains no indication whatsoever within the Bible that the Jews sought out converts. This inattention to missionizing reflects Jewish recognition that Gentiles could achieve moral perfection outside the suffocating strictures ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prior to analyzing the ISI (Import Substitution Industrialization) model, it s benefits as well as its shortcomings, a small introduction of how it came to be and why must be provided. As a product of the 1930s economic crisis and wear and tear of the liberal model, ISI appears in Latin America as another economic option, proposed by ECLA (Economic Commission for Latin America, dependent of the UN) as a means of bringing Latin America out of stagnation and work towards industrialization to eliminate its dependency on agriculture which was seen as vulnerable. There are two critical ways in which this model must be examined, theoretically as well as its concrete outcomes and policy implications within Latin American states. By looking at ... Therefore, it was believed that Latin America instead of following outward looking development path should instead pursue an ISI policy as the centre piece for a new inward directed development strategy (Kay 5), following the beginning footsteps of the developed states. Although its main goal was to strengthen the national economy to better compete in the global market, ISI has had very controversial results. Positively speaking, it has resulted in a decrease in imports, which has favoured certain national industries such as electric materials for construction, textiles, chemicals, etc., the nationalization of natural resources, betterment of term of trade, state intervention in economics (which led to the development of education, health and employment), strengthening of social organizations, but most importantly, the consolidation of the middle class. On a negative note, these nations led to become greatly dependent on technology, there was an increase of external capital control over developed areas, an under qualified labour force for factory jobs, increase in prices of manufactured goods and inflation, migration from rural to urban areas and as a result an increase in social problems, and finally, the industrial sector did not bother to conquer external markets which essentially contradicted the whole purpose of ISI. The energy demand all over the world is expected to be 28 terawatts by 2050, which can lead to increase of energy consumption patterns and greenhouse gas production. (P.Alivisatos et al. 2005) One of the most significant issues the industrialised world is facing today is the energy challenge, issues associated with energy production, storage and reducing consumption of energy use. The use of energy has reason to rise over time due to an increase in the world population and the discovery of new technologies which require electrical energy. The electrical energy is used everywhere, from heating homes to manufacturing. The energy resources are divided into two types: alternative and traditional energy resources. The aim of this paper is to analyse the use of nanotechnology in alternative energy production, storage and as a means of reducing energy consumption. Roger A.Hinriches and Merlin Kleinbach (2006) declared (claimed) that every day the earth surface receives thousands of times more energy from the Sun than it consumed in all other resources . Cleanliness, availability and renewability of solar energy make it virtually ideal. (Grant E.Gardner, 2008). The use of solar energy for production of electricity is based on the photoelectric effect. The photoelectric effect is a process, when light strikes certain metals and, as a result, electrons are emitted from the metal surface. (Hugh D.Young, Roger A.Freedman 2008). Photovoltaic cells (PV), known as solar cells, are devices which collect radiation energy in the form of sunlight and convert into electricity. Solar cells are made of semiconducting materials, especially silicon. Silicon absorbs photons of light which strike the cells. The energy of the absorbed light transfers to the silicon semiconductor, after that this energy pushes electrons out. This is why the can flow freely which leads to the emergence of electric current. The electrical energy from solar cells can then be used directly. However, considerable amount of solar energy on PV cells ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Women are expected to keep their mouths shut, so when Janie breaks this cultural boundary she is looked down upon. This story would not be too far from reality for many women over a hundred years ago. It is also similar in ways to the life of Margaret Sanger, a women s rights activist who is responsible for the family planning movement that started birth control. Margaret Sanger s mother had 11 children and 18 pregnancies, that definitely took a destructive toll on her body, and she died at only 46 years old (Yasunari 2000). Margaret took notice of what happened to her mother and many other women, inspiring her to make it her life s work to help women have more control over their bodies and families. Margaret s work grew famous for the beginning of a birth control movement and the later creation of Planned Parenthood, but it also has a sometimes dark side of eugenics. She went to college to be a nurse and treated many women who continued to have children, even though they were wishing to prevent pregnancies. Margaret saw a correlation between impoverished struggling families and having a large number of children.
