Robert Frost s original intent in writing the poem was not to convey the inspiration that it has for
almost a hundred years. He had written the poem to poke fun at his friend, Edward Thomas, with
whom he had taken many walks. Thomas was hesitant and always wondering what would happen if

War has without a doubt changed extremely from what the term originally meant. Waris already
hard to define, according to Clausewitz, war is an act of force intended to compel our opponents to

We were surprised to see how well the grade 3 students paid attention to our story and cooperated
with us as we went through the questions. As for the grade 6 class, they cooperated with as as
best they could, with the exception of the lack of interest in the story, which was mentioned

Criminals Do not Obey Gun Control Laws
In America, the average amount of people shot per year is 100,000; over ten thousand defenseless
people are murdered. The Second Amendment s proclamation that A well regulated Militia, being
necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be
infringed has been an extensive topic of debate. Moreover, the amendment has been one of many
debates over the several years throughout America. The discussion of gun control is often debated
as to whether or not it is morally right to legally bypass the Second Amendment to avoid unlawful
uses of arms. The Second Amendment allows citizens to carry firearms specifically for protection,
gun control hinders that right and places civilians lives in danger. In short, the U.S. government s
intrusive restrictions on gun laws prevent law abiding citizens from defending themselves with
firearms.
The effects of gun control should abide with the Second Amendment. Although true, the Second
Amendment is not an unlimited right to own guns. Notwithstanding, the Second Amendment
allows the freedom to bear arms. The Second Amendment has never been interpreted as giving only
states the right to peaceably assemble. Moreover, the Court did not address whether the Second

Good morning/afternoon English teachers. All representations of people and politics are indeed
acts of manipulation as true political agendas must be hidden behind a misleading facade.
Language plays a particularly powerful role in portraying in these political representations.
However ambiguous the political motive may be, control is the ultimate goal in the world of
politics. Contrary to popular belief, not all acts of manipulation are inherently immoral or solely
pragmatic. King Henry IV: Part 1(1596 1597), the second historical play of the Henriad, by William
Shakespeare, provides insight into these ideas as his own work is as such a representation of

The portrayal of Prince Hal is exemplary of Shakespeare s use of manipulation to position the
audience to favour a political figure. Initially he sets himself a bad impression to the audience
by being brash and irresponsible. Prince Hal s relationship to Falstaff and company was a tool
for him in order to create for himself a notorious image which he could later shed and expose his
true valor. At the end of Act 1, Scene 2, Hal, through his soliloquy, shows that he has a
completely different perspective on his own actions, conceding that they are unsuitable for a
King but that he is engaging in this behaviour for a clear political purpose. Hal uses the central
metaphor of the sun in his speech: Yet herein will I imitate the sun (1.2.157) and creating imagery
of the sun appearing from the clouds, symbolising his glorious rise from his behaviour: Being
wanted, he may be more wondered at/By breaking through the foul and ugly mists (1.2.161 62).
He ends with a rhyming couplet I ll so offend, to make offence a skill,/ Redeeming time when men

Athenian Comedy Way back when, only males were allowed to be in plays. Since there was
limited males who actually wanted to perform, some guys had to take on more than one role. The
plays were performed in open air theatre. Athenian comedy is originally from Ancient Greece.
Athenian comedy is broken up into three section: Old comedy, New comedy, and Middle comedy.
OLD COMEDY
Old comedy came about in honors of Dionysus. It was based on Fertility riots and political satire.
It was comedy of the 5th century B.C. The only play that was completed from the earliest days was
Aristophanes Acharnians. People that did old comedy seemed to have a humorous sense of humor.
They joked around about all kinds things that were happening around them. It could be about
famous people to the neighbors dog. They joked about religion and mythology, but they never
seemed to mention the higher gods. They would over exaggerate and have such colorful language.
