Crafting an essay on the topic of "Romeo and Juliet Essay Examples" poses a unique set of
challenges. While the play itself is a timeless masterpiece, the task of dissecting it and presenting
original insights can be daunting. One must navigate through the intricate web of Shakespearean
language, explore the multifaceted characters, and unravel the intricate themes that permeate the
narrative.
Moreover, the abundance of existing literature on "Romeo and Juliet" can be overwhelming. It
requires not only a thorough understanding of the play but also the ability to contribute fresh
perspectives. The challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and delivering a piece that stands out
amidst the multitude of essays on this iconic tragedy.

motivations, actions, and the consequences of their choices. Balancing the romantic aspects with
the darker themes of fate, conflict, and tragedy requires a keen literary sensibility. Expressing

Film Photography Process Analysis Essay
Ever wonder how those wonderful, abstract photographs in the museums came to
be? How the photographer organized and developed the image hanging in front
you? Most people don t realize or understand the process of developing a
photograph and turning it into a museum print beyond just taking the picture; like
composing the image, developing the film, printing the image, and framing it. If
you re interested, I ll show you just about everything I do as a photographer to get
complete, framed print ready for the gallery. First and foremost, I have to buy my
film of course. Choosing what film to shoot with involves deciding what film speed,
or ISO, I want my film to be depending on if I m shooting during the day, at night,
portraits, color... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you overexpose the paper, it ll come out too dark or even just completely black.
So once I ve figured out what settings are right, I expose the paper to the light with
the enlarger, and develop the paper through a similar process as the film
development. But now it s 2 minutes in the developer for the paper, 1 minute in
stop bath, 8 minutes divided into two separate fixer baths, and 30 minutes to
completely wash all those chemicals off the print. After all that, the paper can sit to
dry. Once dry, I mount it on mount board by gluing tissue paper to the back of the
image onto the board and pressed all together in a heat compressor to stick
everything together. Then, once it s framed, it s good to go into a gallery! And just
finding a gallery to accept your image is a whole nother endeavor. Maybe now you
get an idea of what happens beyond the camera and just taking the picture. So next
time you re at a photographic museum, you can appreciate the hard work and
determination that went to creating the images surrounding you and why they cost so
Self Discovery In Larry s Party And No Country For Old
Men
As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, Life is a succession of lessons which must be
lived to be understood. In order to come to a complete understanding of what life
is it must first be lived through. In order to live through life fully to gain the best
understanding there must be many experiences that are both good and bad that help
characters discover themselves and life. Carol Shields Larry s Party, and Cormac
McCarthy s No Country for Old Men both illustrate and individuals journey of self
discovery uniquely as their characters start a journey, where they learn about who
they are through trials and failures that lead them each to a clearer, individual,
definition of what life is. Any kind of event can start a journey, the characters in...

After marrying his first wife, Dorrie and getting lost in a maze on their
honeymoon, which should be a high point of his marriage, Larry enters a rare state
of lucidity, Departures and arrivals. He didn t know it then but these two forces
would form the twin balls of his existence as would the brief moments of clarity
that rose up in between, offering stillness. (Shields, 37). Although Larry does not
realize it at this time he will eventually be able to draw this conclusion from his
life. His life experiences lead him through the departures and arrivals of; his
passions, floristry to maze building, his marriages and subsequent divorces, Dorrie
and Beth, as well as his life style changes, comfortable middle class to specialized
high class. This also happens with Larry s emotions as Verlyn Klinkenborg states,
He contends with the unsteadiness of his emotions, a love for Dorrie and (his son)
that can easily be roused and just as easily lost sight of. Larry s life is one that is
constantly changing both by his own doing and the natural path of life.
Throughout his experiences Larry has dealt many changes in every aspect of his
life and it has allowed him a better understanding of how life, in his experience,
works. Life goes by fleetingly, constantly changing the circumstances in which one
lives. At another point in Larry s life, following a dinner party he has hosted in
which all of his guests were people that he has built a relationship with through his
life,he thinks, We will go round and around.. Watching where were going. Where
we ve been. (Shields, 336). The conclusion that Larry has drawn here, that he will
always cycle through the same things in life, are only possible because of the
experiences he has lived through. He has gone from a happy life with a wife and
The Chu Lai Massacre
Attacks stretched as far as the northern U.S. military installation, Chu Lai, down to
the primary objective in the south, Saigon. The launch of such an intricate and fierce
attack caught many U.S. commanders off guard because at the time, the potential of
the Northern fighters was severely underestimated. In the years before, Saigon acted
as a safe haven for many refugees trying to escape the horrors of war. The comfort of
the city soon vanished when the North Vietnamese sent 35 battalions to seize six
objectives in the capital. A few of these enemy fighters took over a government radio
station with the intention of spreading pro communist propaganda. The North
Vietnamese believed that if they could control the transmitting tower, they could
convince the citizens of the South to riot against the U.S. forces. Fortunately for the
U.S. troops, this plan was stopped by a Lieutenant of the Army of the Republic of
Vietnam(ARVN) who previously decided to cut all transmission to and from the
government radio tower. As the Viet Cong were waiting for reinforcements, ARVN

Confused by the explosions and machinegun fire coming from both sides, many
reporters couldn t quite tell who had the upper hand. The confusion left many
reporters with the assumption that the enemy had taken over the embassy, even
though it was an obvious win for American forces. It wasn t long until a picture of
three U.S. soldiers fighting for their life alongside two of their dead brothers was
plastered onto the front page of the New York Times. American televisions and
newspapers were being filled with the horrible images of the Vietnam War. For many
Americans, this was their first glimpse at war, and it was gruesome. Even though the
event at the embassy were less catastrophic than the reporters made it seem, the
footage of U.S. troops fighting for their own embassy shocked many

High School Vs. College Life
As we go on in life we face many challenges and new situations that we deal with. A
new situation that most people deal with is on college and high school. School plays
one of the most significant stages in our lives. Many people spend more than 16
years to get an education in their life. Those years are different levels, some of them
are more entertaining than others. A student must pass through high schooland
college life in their student life. Even though people think that high school and
college level are same, there is an important difference between them. Although high
school and college life are divided among academic point of view, ... Show more

The hours of credit classes are fixed by the administration in high school, without
any flexibility. Classes are distributed on annual basis. Students get many excuses
from missing classes, late submission of homework in high school whereas they
get to lose their grades in college life. In High School, teacher manages to take their
students to different educational excursion program, visit new places, parks, etc.,
whereas these are not done in college life. Parents can check for the grades of their
kids in high school, but in college life, it is considered as privacy. It is easy to make
friends in high school but in college life, it depends on common interest. These are
some of the experiences done by almost every individual in high school life.
College, on the other hand, is a choice if one wants to attend or not. An individual
who is attending college life usually pays for his own education. Since they pay for
their own education, they work hard enough to get success in their career. College
life has much freedom of time schedule. They are flexible to work and study as per
their need. This level prepares every individual to develop understanding and
maintain a good career in life. Therefore, an individual after finish college degree can
easily get a job. As soon as a person entered in college a sense of maturity comes to
him. They realize everything in college is materialistic and college level is very
practical. College life prepares
Auschwitz Historical Overview
Auschwitz:
A Historical Overview of the Death Camp
The Holocaust is one of the most horrifying crimes against humanity. quot;Hitler, in
an attempt to establish the pure Aryan race, decided that all mentally ill, gypsies, non
supporters of Nazism, and Jews were to be eliminated from the German population.
He proceeded to reach his goal in a systematic scheme. quot; (Bauer, 58) One of his
main methods of exterminating these undesirables was through the use of
concentration and death camps. In January of 1941, Adolf Hitler and his top officials
decided to make their final solution a reality. Their goal was to eliminate the Jews and
the unpure from the entire population. Auschwitz was the largest ... Show more

These camps were set up along railroad lines so that the prisoners would be
conveniently close to their destination. Unfortunately, many prisoners didn t even
survive the train ride to the camps. Herded like cattle, exhaustion, disease, and
starvation ended the long treacherous journey for many of the prisoners. On the
trains, Jews were starved of food and water for days. Nearly 8% of the people did not
even survive the ride to the camps. (Nyiszli, 37)
When they arrived at the camps, most of the families who were shipped out together,
ended up being separated. Often, the transports were a sampling of what went on in
the camps: cruelty by the officers, near starvation of those being transported, as well
as fetid and unsanitary conditions. For the people who survived the trip, it was just
the beginning of the living nightmare that they would face inside the walls of
Auschwitz.
Jews were forced to obey the guards orders from the moment they arrived at the
camps. quot;If they didn t, they would be beaten, put into solitary confinement, or
shot. quot; (Nyiszli, 49) A prisoner said, quot;I can remember when I first arrived.
The S.S. would take babies right out of their mother s arms, throw them in the air and
then shoot them. This is when I realized that I had just entered hell. quot; (Nyiszli,

Andrew Jackson Bibliography
Internet Bibliography I chose Andrew Jackson as my topic for my internet
bibliography. I chose this topic because I ve heard some intriguing facts about
Andrew Jackson before, and I wanted to learn the details of them. Also, I wanted to
learn more about our 7th President. I ve always heard that he was an avid duelist, and
that Andrew Jacksonused his own cane to beat a man, who tried to assassinate him.
I wanted to know the details about both of these events, so I decided to dig deeper
into Andrew Jackson s life. My first site that I used for my internet bibliography was
on the external links. I decided to use the The Hermitage: Andrew Jackson link as my
starting point. The layout and organization of this site was phenomenal.... Show more

annoying at times, when scrolling on the site. I did find the photo shopped bottles
of Jack Daniels, that were in Jackson s hands in each photo hysterical. I found
myself unable to keep a straight face as I read the author s spin on Andrew Jackson
s life. Some of the information was facts I ve read other places, but other
information was hard to separate between fact and fiction. Hands down, my favorite
part had to be when the author gave his take on John C. Calhoun. I belly laughed for
a good ten minutes. I m ecstatic that I came across this website, but I wouldn t say
this is the best site from which to retrieve information. Although, it was well worth the

Freezing Point Depression Measurements
Purpose:
The purpose of the experiment was to determine the molar mass of three unknown
solutes by measuring the freezing point depression of a solution containing each of
the unknowns. When a solute is dissolved in a solvent, the vapor pressure of the
solvent is lowered. As a result of the decrease in the vapor pressure, the colligative
properties change.
Colligative properties include vapor pressure lowering, boiling point elevation,
freezing point depression and changes in osmotic pressure. Colligative properties are
physical properties because they are dependent only upon the number of particles of
solute that are dissolved in the solvent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3 to MM solute= Kf(grams solute)/[ О”Tf (kg solvent)]
MM unknown D= 4.30 В°C/m (0.09 g)/[3.35 В°C (0.00163)] = 70.9 g/mol
The experimental average Kf was calculated to be 4.29, which was pretty close to
the actual value of 4.30. The identification of Unknown D was Pentane, and the
actual compound was Pentane. However, for Unknowns A and C the experimental
molar masses were off by 14 g each. The actual molar mass of ethanol is 46.07,
where the experimental one was 160.36. That is mostly due to the hydrogen bonding
between ethanol molecules, the strong hydrogen bonding interactions are responsible
for the high freezing point, which lead to a higher molar mass.
As you can see supercooling has obviously occurred in graphs 1 and 5. Supercooling
is the process of chilling a liquid below its freezing point, without it becoming solid.
The reason why molality was used in the experiment instead of molarity is because
molarity depends of volume and volume changes with temperature. A nonpolar
solvent would work better with this experiment, because p xylene is a nonpolar
solvent and non polar molecules will dissolve with non polar
Cultural Aspects Of Cultural Identity
Cultural identity varies from person to person and To me cultural identity basically
means what kind of person you are and the way you see others. it plays a big role in
life and there are lots of aspects such as religion, language, racial identity, values and
gender. Those aspects define your cultural identity.
One of the cultural aspects that I will talk about has impacted my life the most which
is my religion and that religion is christianity. When I was one month old my
parents took me to church for the first time so that I would get blessed by the

Essay On New Solar System
In this article, it states that 39 light years away from Earth, there is a belief that
science has found a new solar system. That very solar system is special since it has
seven planets that are very alike to our Earth. With the terrain being rocky and
warm enough that it could support life on it. This discovery is the first time people
have ever found that out that there are rocky planets that are orbiting a single star.
Before we have the technology we have today, the only terrestrial planets we knew of
being four planets. And we didn t even know much about our solar system, other than
our planetand some a few others, but as we reach a new age in our world so many
other windows are opening to us as a society.

Also in paragraph three, it states that Last May, the scientists published that they had
discovered three rocky bodies orbiting the star. They named them TRAPPIST в‚Ѓb,
в‚Ѓc and в‚Ѓd. Later, Gilion realized that the dip in brightness he thought came from
в‚Ѓd was actually caused by three planets all crossing at the same time. They
eventually realized that there were actually seven planets. The quote explains that
all former three planets were orbiting their own star, which were caused in a dip of
brightness that caused the planets to cross at the same time. All TRAPPIST planets
orbit the same star, the line on which they orbit all move at the same times. They
reach each starting point at the same time which is not really like other planets we
have ever heard of before, mainly because the all of the planets in our solar system
all move at their own speed.
Including information comes from Planets Are Close Enough For Atmospheric

scientists have found evidence that our galaxy, the Milky Way, is full of Earth like
planets. However, the TRAPPIST в‚Ѓ researchers say this solar system is our best
target yet to search for life outside of Earth. This quote explains that for much of our
life we only
Brennan s Argument Analysis
Brennan argues that one should not vote badly. I will be arguing in favor of Brennan
s argument. I will first start by stating the author s argument, then I will propose
objections to his argument. Brennan argue that one should obtain from voting if there
vote will contribute to harmful activities. The author calls this contribution to
harmful activities bad voting; he does make the distinction that someone does not
vote badly if they have substantial evidence that the policy was good, but it ended up
being harmful. The individual votes do not have a large enough impact to sway the
outcome of the vote in a certain direction, the harm from bad voting is a collective
effort among a group of voters. This argument does take into account voting... Show

Every person may not have the same level of these components, but it is present.
Everyone will not know everything about the candidate they plan to vote for, they
only know the high points of their campaign. According to the LA TIMES It s a
rare voter who carefully reads a candidate s position papers on every conceivable
topic. Instead, we typically vote based on a candidate s stance on a subset of
topics, assuming there will be a certain consistency on other topics...Another
conscious component of political decision making is voting for experience or
competence, rather than a platform. This is so common that one study found that
candidates judged to look more competent had won elections 68% of the time.
(Sapolsky) Especially, with how the media reports news about a particular
candidate, they only report the parts of the campaign that the public would
consider controversial. This bias also depends on the news station you are
choosing to watch because the news reported is often swayed to reflect the views
of a certain political party. For example, FOX NEWS is known for having
republican views, MSNBC is known for having liberal views, and CNN is known
for having democratic views. The question now becomes what is the threshold of
irrationality, bias, ignorance or immoral belief that deems someone as a bad
The Importance Of A Valuable Tool For Mental Skills And...
Mindful breathing teaches how to quiet the everlasting dialogue that truly ravages our
brain. It is really simplification of the present without thoughts about the past, the
future, or any baggage in between. Simply just breathing deeply while focusing on
each breath is mindful breathing. The end result is better mental clarity, focus, and
increased physical and mental performance benefiting athletes, students, pilots, and
businessmen, to name a few. This discussion covers: reasons why to conduct this
valuable tool to enhance mental skills and improve health, mindful breathingin sports,
techniques on how to conduct it, and my personal experience and suggestions.
Why conduct mindful breathing? It clears the mind allowing one to shed unnecessary
and distracting thoughts, thereby reducing the low grade anxiety associated with the
monkey mind that constantly involves itself in planning, catastrophizing, or wishing
for something different. Taking time to be in the moment with a short break allows
the brain s muscle to recover and recharge. This improves one s job performance to
include sports and academics, enhances relationships, and can help one fall asleep
faster. Health benefits include a stronger immune system due to less stress and lower
blood pressure, less skin issues from psoriasis, and less symptoms associated with
lung disease plus mindful breathing reduces stress on the heart.

Factors That Led To The Fall Of The Roman Republic
Three ideals and traditions of the Roman Republic, lust for power, greed, and
loyalty, each contributed to the collapse of the Republic. Desire for power played
a major role in the collapse of the Republic because Caesar, the man who arguably
began the Republic s downfall, marched on Rome because he wanted power. The
second ideal that led to the Republic s collapse was greed and the power of money,
for example bribing officials in Rome, Crassus shocking alliance with Caesar, and
Pompey s strategy to fight Caesar during the first civil war. The last ideal that aided
the downfall of the Republic was loyalty, specifically citizens loyalty to political
leaders or military generals, loyalty between generals and their veterans, and loyalty
between political leaders.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before the collapse of the Republic, Sulla, a roman patrician, declared himself
dictator and used proscription lists, a list of people posted in the forum who were
declared enemies of the state, to maintain his power. This example shows how lust
for power was inherent and already destructive in the Republic, prior to its
collapse. Similar to lust for power, greed could be found within the Republic
before its collapse. For example, patricians, aristocrats, would buy farmland from
plebeians who were serving in the army, and they used the land to increase their
wealth. Lastly, loyalty was viewed as an important aspect of the Republic,
specifically loyalty to politicians, family, and the Republic s beliefs. Most Roman
households had some allegiance to a certain politician and would support that
politician despite their own personal beliefs. These three ideals of the Republic
were established and followed long before the collapse of the Republic, and all three
grew into destructive forces that caused the collapse of the

Disadvantages Of Space Heaters
People often turn to portable space heaters for help warming rooms when their
primary home heating system isn t quite up to the task. Others prefer space heaters
for the savings they provide by allowing you to heat only the rooms you use. There
are many different types of portable heaters, all of which use slightly different
methods to warm the space. Which one will work best for you depends on the
characteristics of the space you will be heating. You should also take into account
how loud the heateris when running and consider safety issues, especially if you have
children or pets.
The overwhelming majority of space heaters available today are electric. This is
because most states have banned unvented combustible space heaters due to carbon
monoxide and other gasses. Vented kerosene and gas heaters are available, but are
not portable, as they require the installation of a vent from the heater to the outside of
the home.
Radiant Heaters
Infrared
Radiant heaters work by warming objects directly adjacent to them. They provide heat
quickly but do so in a straight line. Like the sun s rays, infrared heat warms only
objects in its direct path and cannot work around obstacles. As a result, infrared
heaters work best in open areas free of obstructions. These heaters use very little
energy but do emit a soft orange glow, which some feel makes them bothersome in
bedrooms. They are also hot to the touch and require caution when used around pets
and children. Infrared heaters do run silently, however. If you are sitting in one spot
for a length of time, an infrared heater aimed in your direction will be a good choice.
Many infrared heaters are now built into wooden cabinets. This makes the heaters
more attractive and cooler to the touch.
Radiators
Radiant heat is also created by portable oil filled radiators. These radiant heaters
consist of a series of tubes filled with oil. This oil is warmed and then the heat
radiates off of the unit to the surrounding area. The oil in these heaters is warmed
but never burned as fuel, so there is no need to refill them or perform other
maintenance tasks. Like infrared heaters, oil filled radiators are very energy efficient
and silent but hot to the touch. Unlike an infrared
Hemingway s The Sun Also Rises Essay
Hemingway s The Sun Also Rises
The title and narrative focus of Ernest Hemingway s The Sun Also Rises are rooted
in a passage from the Ecclesiastes. In referencing this book of the Hebrew Bible,
Hemingway resorts to aged scripture to unearth steadfast truths. His novel uses old
world beliefs to provide a solution for modern day issues, asserting the undeniable
value of tradition. The applicability of the Ecclesiastes passage to Hemingway s
portrait of hopelessness in the post Great War generation demonstrates that a
reconnection with the natural world will reverse the unnatural consequences of a
meaningless war and permit the reestablishment of hope within the following
generation.

Hemingway depicts the expatriates disconnect from the natural world in order to
portray this generation s improbable renewal. After participating in a war which went
against the principles of nature in its needless destruction, the expatriates have lost
comprehension of the inherently human will to desire and consequently
accomplish. This cyclical course of completed events is lacking in the expatriates
lives and is replaced by a linear repetition which conveys emptiness. Through
detachment from traditional human passions, the expatriates misunderstand
fundamental laws of nature. Passing a taxidermist in Paris, Bill suggests that Jake
purchase a stuffed dog. He refers to the practice of taxidermy as a simple exchange
of values. You give them money. They give you a stuffed dog (p. 78). Bill exalts a
pattern formed by commerce and artificiality, which replaces the traditional cycle
of death and rebirth. He continues to describe a future purchase of a horse cab
stuffed for Christmas (p. 79). The traditional holiday of Christmas, defined by its
generous and genuine gifts, is converted into a mocking showcase of falsely
preserved nature. Hemingway concludes this passage with Bill s assertion, I m a
nature writer, (p. 80) an ironic statement which illuminates a lack of knowledge for
his field due to a misconception of the natural cycle. Stuffed animals
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cetane
3.6.2. Advantages of DTBP:
The, use of DTBP asa cetane enhancer substantially reduces the four gaseous toxic

reductions in these tour gaseous toxic emissions achievable by increasing the cetane

Thus, it is for commercial acceptance the peroxide. The use of DTBP produces
substantial reductions in the soluble organic fraction of the based cetane
improvement additives must be stable, thermally and oxidative, at actual use
temperatures. The thermal stability of DTBP was demonstrated by determining the
effects of heating on the treated fuels and also by measurement of the decomposition
rates in a low sulfur diesel fuel! A fuel treated with DTBP showed no statistically
significant loss in cetane number after heating for 100 hours at 92В°C. The half life
for DTBP at 70В°C in diesel fuel is in excess of 10,000 hours, with greater than
97% of the additive remaining after nearly 700 hours. Even at lOOnC, the half life
of DTBP in diesel fuel is over 300 hours. Even though the rate of thermal
decomposition of the peroxide is five to ten times faster than the nitrate, the peroxide
additive is very stable under typical fuel system temperatures. Stability of DTBP was
demonstrated by the standard ASTM methods. Both the accelerated oxidative
stability test (D274)12 and the long term storage stability test (D4625)13 did not
show any gum formation in most of the diesel fuels tested. In some, inherently

Cuttlefish are found in large numbers throughout the world s ocean waters from
the warm, tropical shallows to the cold depths of the deep ocean. The cuttlefish s
catch in the Gulf of Suez was composed of four species; Sepia savignyi, S.
pharaonis, S. dollfusi, and S. trygonina and S. savignyi. Sepia svignyi (Blainville,
1827) is the major targeted cuttlefish resource in the study area. This species,
endemic to Western Indian Ocean, Red Sea, Gulf of Suez, Gulf of Aden, Arabian
Sea and the Persian Gulf, it is a dominant component in commercial cuttlefish catches
reported from the Gulf of Suez, this species is heavily overexploited. In Egypt s
commercially important trawl fishery in the Gulf of Suez, the percentage of cuttlefish
constitutes about 2.31% of the total catch during the fishing season 2014/2015. Few
studies were made on the cuttlefish biology of Sepia savignyi Blainville, 1827.
Ibrahim et al. (1993) investigated the age, length weight relationship and theoretical

Flexible Roofing Material
There are multiple ways you can purchase roofing material; you can purchase
individual shingles or you can purchase rolls of roofing material with the shingles
attached. If you decide to use rolled roofing material, you may want to cut it before
you take it up to your roof in order to make it more manageable. Needed Materials
In addition to the roll of asphalt roofing material, you are going to need a hook
blade utility knife, a tape measure and a large sheet of plywood in order to cut the
roofing material. Length Of The Cut One of the advantages of using rolled roofing
material is that you can lay down large sections without having to worry about any
gaps in between the material. When you cut the roofing material, you want to cut it

With additional assistance, you can handle more length than that. You will also
want to measure your roof; depending on how long each side of your roof is, you
may be able to create sheets of roofing material that will run the entire length of
your roof. Cutting The Rolled Roofing Material First off, you need to lay down a
piece of plywood on the ground. Then, unroll the roofing material on top of the
layer of plywood. The plywood protects the roofing material from any dirt on the
ground and will any sticky coatings or layers on the roll as well. The plywood also
functions as a giant cutting board. Once the roofing material is stretched out on the
plywood, use your measuring tape to measure out the length of material that you
determined you needed. In order to mark where you need to cut, use your hook
blade utility knife to make a small notch at the appropriate length. Then, take your
hook blade utility knife, and starting where the notch is, pull straight across to cut
off a section of the roofing material. Once you have cut the section, roll it back up.

Roth
Anti Consumerism in the Works of Kerouac, Ginsberg, and Roth
After World War II, Americans became very concerned with keeping up with the
Joneses. Everyday people were not only interested in fulfilling the American Dream
because of the optimistic post war environment, but also because of the economic
emphasis on advertising that found a new outlet daily in highway billboards, radio
programs, and that popular new device, the television. With television advertising
becoming the new way to show Americans what they did not (and should) have
came a wide eyed and fascinated interest in owning all kinds of things, products, and
devices suddenly necessary in every home. One could not only hear about new
necessary items, but see them as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By rejecting spoon fed aphorisms for self discovery through altruism and economic
simplicity, these writers, and indeed a whole subculture of American beatniks and
Buddhists in the 50 s and 60 s, set a new precedent for those willing to find their own
way.
Ginsberg expresses a light hearted distaste of the supermarket lifestyle in his poem, A
Supermarket in California. He envisions himself wandering around the supermarket,
surrounded by consumers eyeing produce, and, among them, Walt Whitman and
Garcia Lorca. He seems to be fascinated and repulsed at the same time by the
phenomenon, everyone looking and poking at the items to be bought, and he
wonders what their real motives in being there are. He imagines Whitman to be there
out of loneliness, flirting with the young stockboys, pretending, like everyone else, to
be interested in the products. Ginsberg s vision of America is of a whole population
so lonely and dispassionate that they have turned to these big bright places full of
people and things to look at just to have something to do. It is notable that Ginsberg
and Whitman leave the supermarket together, not having purchased anything at all.
They have taken part in the ritual of loneliness without buying into the need for
things.

Symbolism In The Drummer Boy Of Shiloh
The story, The Drummer Boy of Shiloh , by Ray Bradbury, has many elements that
can relate to real life. In my life I have a father figure who encourages me, I have a
hopeful heartbeat, and I am inexperienced youth. In the story, the peaches resemble
inexperienced youth, a drum resembles a hopeful heartbeat, and the general
resembles a father figure telling Joby to overcome his fear. One of the most
important elements of symbolism in the story is having a father figure to encourage
you.Joby, a boy of 14, ran away from home and decided to join the army in April
1862.Then the general, Joby s father figure, encouraged him to overcome his fear of
never seeing his familyagain or the possibility of death. He did this, by telling Joby
to keep a steady beat for the army when they were fighting. My life can relate to
Joby s because four years I got a father figure. In my life, my father figure isn t
encouraging me to fight in the war and overcome my fear of loosing my family, but
he does encourage me to try new stuff. My father figure, has encouraged me to like
superheros, route for teams most people don t like, and stick with what I like doing....

Joby knew if he beat the drum slowly that the heart s of the fighting men would
beat slowly too. In the story it states a slow beat would cause the men to drowse
and sleep forever. If he beat a sure and steady beat the men would march over the
hills like a wave that would be full of hope. If Joby would set the pace and the
general would command orders they would have a good chance of winning the
war. This relates to my life because everyday Nakiya says, See you 8th hour, Josh

because I know she ll tell me a crazy story when the day s over. An element of

The Journey of an Orphan to a Young Woman
The Journey of an Orphan to a Young Woman: Imagination is a companion that will
always be there to ease up moments of despair in life. It gives hope that one day the
possessions that the heart desires will be there not too far from reach, or to believe
the cruel circumstances life brings upon us are instead moments of joy. L.M
Montgomery demonstrates this skilfully in her work; Anne of Green Gables. The
novel is about a lonely orphaned girlwhose only friend is her imagination. Due to her

However these traits were what helped Anne stand out against all the other young
behaved girls, she was different from them and this made her unique. She learned to
accept her imperfections and turn them into talents instead. Identity is what every
orphan yearns to have, since not belonging to anyone steals it away from them.
Anne Shirley knew who her parents were, however not being raised by them she
had no identity to be sure of. It was a taint on her that never left her alone. Due to
these circumstances, the journey of Anne Shirley s growth from a loud and
obnoxious child to an elegant and sophisticated young women had many bumps in the
road. A situation that portrays her obnoxious side would be not apologising to Mrs.
Lynde and locking herself in the room.
I shall have to stay here forever then, said Anne mournfully, because I can t tell Mrs.
Lynde I m sorry I said those things to her. How can I? I m NOT sorry. I m sorry I ve
vexed you; but I m GLAD I told her just what I did. It was a great satisfaction. I can t
say I m sorry when I m not, can I? I can t even IMAGINE I m sorry. (Montgomery 85)
Although it was her mistake to have such an outburst she still believes what she did
was not wrong, and well deserved on Mrs. Lynde s side. However, on the other hand
the way she handles the accusation of stealing Marilla s amethyst brooch is
completely opposite. Although she has not stolen the brooch, she

As was mentioned, only one input variable will be used (this being the concentration
of the sucrose solution in the test tubes). This means that, in order to make sure this is
a fair test, every other variable in the experiment must be kept constant and uniform.
Therefore the same equipment will be used throughout. This will include test tubes
with the same volume of solution; weighing machines tested and made set to begin
on zero (electronic). The experiment will be conducted in, as close as possible, the
same temperatures (allowing for very slight variation). Also any volumes of sucrose
solution measured in the experiment will be measured accurately using measuring
cylinders. Observations will not be taken into consideration in planning because none
of the results require observations, only what the weighing machine reads. Therefore,
there can be almost no fault when it comes to recording the results. Trial Experiment

Hands Down Something In Between Analysis
Hands down, Something in Between is the best YA contemporary book of the year.
If you re only familiar with Melissa de la Cruz s fantasy and paranormal books, I m
going to put a huge disclaimer: this is drastically different than her previous works.
It is her best yet. She came back to her original roots which is realistic fiction ala
chick lit where the stakes are higher.
Something in Between follows the story of Jasmine de los Santos, a smart high
school student who s eligible to apply to prestigious universities. After receiving an
invitation to meet the President of the United States, she discovers her family is
undocumented Filipino immigrants. This shattered her chance for a scholarship, and

You could see the girls making up for their mistake.
Being immigrant specifically an undocumented didn t made Jasmine a pariah instead
she received an overwhelming support from her peers. This is how you write diversity.
Criticism
The republicans are portrayed too good for my liking. They generally dismissed and
alienate marginalized groups, it doesn t set down well with me.
I m quite disappointed with some of the ableist language being passed as a pun.
There are handful of scenes where Jasmine s family members invalidate Royce s
biracial background. The story is supposed to be inclusive, let s thrive for that.
Something in Between would appeal to a chockfull of readers. I simply love that this
book combines everything I love in contemporary YA, there s romance, strong
political ambiance, racial inclusion, tight knit family and friendship. I couldn t ask
anything better. Highly recommended to contemporary fans that dig Morgan Matson,

Anesthesia
Throughout history many jobs are often overlooked, Well at least the origins of
them are. Established in the late 1800 s the demand for nurse anesthetists grew,
being that this time period was a big war time period. When the practice first
originated physicians not nurses gave anesthesia in the UK from the beginning of
anesthesia. The low professional status of young doctors began to draw in attention
to this practice. The study of anesthesia made some drastic changes in healthcare ,
while appreciating the full potential of anesthesia surgeons have required longer
practices . Once someone had heard about the discovery of anesthesia it has been put
to use in February 1847, and since then has been saving the world one day at a time....

However doctors use to use an open drop of anesthesia; until it was found much
easier to use the Morton s original inhaler method (Wilkison). By the early 1900 s
Britain and the United States and many doctors started to specialize in Anesthesia. By
the 1960 s many anesthetic offices were created with teams of nurses and doctors. By
1978 The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that nurses who practiced
anesthesia would be an essential service and major contribution (medicalises) which
then then had been true. Many surgeries performed today would not be possible
without the help of anesthetists. Although some training may take up to three years
in some countries nurses often change their job titles, but In turkey and Sudan they
become medical assistants, In Uganda their title becomes anesthesia officer, and in
China once they complete anesthetist school they become physicians. (McAuliffe,pg

produce successful nurses and doctors who will gravely contribute to this area of
healthcare. Anesthetists offer so much to many people around the world and day by

Explanation Of Cheating In Shirley Jackson s Song
Even though this song is mainly about a woman that has been cheated on kicking
her boyfriend out, she also wrote this song to prove to women it is okay to be
independent and think for yourself. This song not only shows things that happen in
real life, like abuse and lovers that cheat on each other, but also she is acting as a
voce for all women and saying stand up for yourself and de not take any crap from
anyone. She wrote this songabout a woman that has been cheated on and decides to
stand up for herself and be strong. During the song she kicks out her cheating

However, an example of the allegory use would be this line, And keep talking that
mess, it s fine, but could you walk and talk at the same time (Lines 7 and 8). In this
example, she is basically telling us as listeners a story of what was said and what
happened. However, this continues during the entire song. The story that she is
telling during the whole duration of the song is that she caught her boyfriend
cheating on her. She then decided to kick him out of her home and refused to
listen to anything he had to say in case he tried to change her mind. She also says,
Standing in the front yard, tellin me I m such a fool, how I ll never find another
you (Lines 11through 13). In this line of the story of her song she is saying how
he s calling her a fool basically and telling her he cannot be replaced and this in
itself is a form of abuse. However, she stands up to him and basically tells him that
she could have a new boyfriend as soon as he leaves the house if she wants to.
Hyperbole is also used in this song. Throughout this song she seems to exaggerate
more than she should but in particular places she uses over exaggeration such as in
the line, It s my name that s on that jag, so come move your bags, and let me call
you a cab (Lines 9, 10). In this line you can hear how she overly exaggerates the
words and stresses them to the point that it stands out. By her over exaggerating
during this line, she is trying to make sure she is getting the point of the song across
to her

Bottled Water Vs Tap Water
In the United States, Americans consume over 8.6 billion gallons of water annually
(HRF, 2014). That is only one country; imagine what number it would get if the
other countries are included. Anywhere we go we carry of use bottled water. I can
bet that you have bottled water on your hand or somewhere near you. Humans
became reliable to the expensive water on the bottle; the bottle that increased
pollution and health risk to the Earth. Using and drinking bottled wateris worse than
using the old tap water. How much is one bottled water right? How about 24 case
of bottled water? Expensive! Bottled water cost this much because of the extra
labor and processing the water inside goes through. The factories where bottled
water is PROCESSED are using almost the same amount of energy as any factory
that process food. In a technical term, bottled waters are considered as processed
food. U.S. $100 billion is spent every year on bottled water globally (Dell Amore

Varsity Vs. Club Sports
The ball is rolling down the field with players from each team chasing after it, who
will get there first? The home team wins the race and passes the ball to their
teammate. They settle the ball, gather their footing, and kick the ball at the goal.
The goalie dives and misses the ball as it hits the back of the net. The team rushes
toward each other celebrating the goal with a team hug. Club sports are just as
entertaining as varsity sports yet most people don t see it this way. This is only one
of the multiple differences between varsity and club soccer. Most varsity athletes

There are multiple vans sitting out in the South Parking Lot, that hardly ever get
used. There is no reason why the Athletic Department can t let us use those buses
to drive ourselves to games. They don t need to pay a driver, we can drive
ourselves to save money. This is an easy fix and would make traveling for club
teams much easier. It would also eliminate the chances of getting separated and
lost. The Athletic Department may object to this solution because, it is a liability
to the school and will cost the school gas money. However, club soccer fundraises
for uniforms, therefore we could also fundraise a little extra money to fill up the
gas tanks for the buses. They could also make club athletes fill out liability forms,
like going on a field trip in high school, that says the school is not liable for anything
that happens. Field space is limited and this makes it difficult for both varsity and
club to find space and time to practice. Take soccer for example. There are three grass
soccer fields available to play on. However, one is called Melucci Stadium and is
used strictly for games and is off limits for practices. Now we are down to two
fields, neither of which have lights. This makes a difference because both varsity
soccer teams have a field from four to six. Now where does that leave club soccer?
Well, they let us have the fields from six to eight, yet around

In The Republic it is mentioned that justice is for the good of a friend and harm of
an enemy. In other words victory for a friend and jailtime for an enemy. In
Officespace this is the exact theory that Peter has for his friends except it is the
reverse of what Peter thinks of justice. Eventhough what he is planning is wrong,
Peter feels in his good sense, what he is doing is right. Stealing from Limburgh his
boss, for the safetynet of his friends Samir and Michael that justice in Peter s eyes.
The art of stealing from his boss is camouflaging his scam through a virus. Peter
encourages his co workers to go along with this scheme so they can be secure for
their future. A sort of hidden revenge for all the disrespect and dishonor that has been
built overtime by Limburgh. Peter, Samir and Michael has good intentions, but gets
fed up and goes on with the
The Edge Geodetic Domination Number
ABSTRACT In this paper the concept of upper edge geodetic domination number
(UEGD number) and upper connected edge geodetic domination number (UCEGD
number) of a graph is studied. An edge geodetic domination set (EGD set) S in a
connected graph is minimal EGD set if no proper subset of S is an edge geodetic
domination set. The maximum cardinality of all the minimal edge geodetic
domination set is called UEGD number. An EGD set S in a connected graphis
minimal CEGD set if no proper subset of S is a CEGD set. The maximum
cardinality of all the minimal connected edge geodetic domination set is called
UCEGD number. Here the UEGD number and UCEGD number of certain graphs
are identified. Also for two positive integers p and q there exist some connected
graph with EGD number p and UEGD number q. Similarly for two positive integers
p and q there exist some connected graph with CEGD number p and UCEGD number
q.

1 INTRODUCTION
By a graph G = (V, E) we consider a finite undirected graph without loops or
multiple edges. The order and size of a graph are denoted by p and q respectively.
For the basic graph theoretic notations and terminology we refer to Buckley and
Harary [4].For vertices u and v in a connected graph G, the distance d(u, v) is the
length of a shortest uпЂv path in G. A

Overcome resistance
Reducing or overcoming resistance to change depends on identifying source of
resistance; it also depends on a leader s ability to be task oriented when it is required.
Here are 3 major strategies to deal with resistance to change (Cummings and Worley,
1993):
Empathy and support: this is the first step to know those who are experiencing
troubles of change, giving them possible ways of support, it is important to let those
people notice that they are taken care of, and a more friendly relationship will be
made.
Communication: people tend to resist when things become uncertain, an effective
communication is strongly demanded, it also help people prepare for the change.
Participation and involvement: it is a very good idea to get those who are facing
change involve directly in planning and implementing change, participation is the
best way to overcome resistance.
No matter how we think change may be, there is one thing that we shouldn t forget is
that change can be exciting and can bring new and positive opportunities for all.
The leadership of organizational change
The leadership is very important to the change of organizations, it is discussed in
many works that management may be more emphasized than leadership, however, I
would like to put leadership in the first
Seagram Values
Definition of Project: After taking over the reins from his father Edgar Bronfman Sr.
in 1994, Edgar Jr. launched a campaign in 1995 after meeting with 200 of his senior
management team to announce that Seagram would be the best managed beverage
company . Therefore, he explained the challenges that profits gain by the
development of their premier products, the diversification and acquisitions into new
markets during the 1960 s into the late 1980 s would need a new fresh strategy for
Seagram s to keep their competitive standing, hence the introduction of Seagram
Values (Jick Peiperl, 2011). These values would direct the company towards
effectively managing business processes, the reduction of cost and foresight towards
growth opportunities.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, manager should align rewards with corporate goals and should be based
on the intrinsic or extrinsic needs of the employee (Salie Schlechter,2012). These
actions on the employee behalf encourages the Seagram value of innovation.
Furthermore, this value compares to the third step of the effective change model of
foster consensus for the new vision, competence to enact it, and cohesion to move it
along. Moreover, this step supports the employee that is doing well and conversely
for those that are not conforming to change, outplacement should be an option (Jick

The Effect Of Halophilic Organisms On Salt Production
Halophiles have been commercially significant for centuries, with the earliest
recorded case being that of ancient China and Middle East, where reddening of
solar salterns as a result of growth of halophilic microorganisms was used as a
biomarker of successful salt production (DasSarma et. al 2009). Today the role of
halophilic organisms in salt production has evolved to facilitate rapid evaporation of
salt crystals due to increased absorbance of light by their red purple pigments. The
purple membrane of the halophilic archaeathat enables them to grow phototrophically
and carry out phototactic responses contain the light driven proton pump,
bacteriorhodopsin, and sensory rhodopsins. Molecules like bacteriorhodopsin are
especially of industrial interest because they are stable over a wide range of
temperatures, usually between 0в—¦C and 45в—¦C, and pH values, usually between
1 and 11 (Ventosa and Nieto 1995). Moreover, the reactions of bacteriorhodopsin
can be manipulated genetically, chemically or immunologically and are self
regenerative. Therefore, the ability of these biomolecules to convert the energy
from light to chemical energy in a non chlorophyll system has various industrial
applications. For one, bacteriorhodopsin can be utilized as light sensors and for
optical data processing or nonlinear optics. It is currently also being proposed for
producing erasable photochromic film (Hampp et. al 1992). Furthermore,
bacteriorhodopsin can also be used as a light sensor as they
Observation Of Gunner s Report
Gunner reported that Gage was still bothering him and he tried to stab him with a
pencil at 1:30 on 3/28/2017 He said Gunner called him names and he called him a
name back. I told Gage to go to the office so I could talk with him. Gage reported
that he did not say anything to Gunner all day and that he did not try to stab him
with a pencil. He then spoke with Ms. Snider. They talked about this incident as
well as his grades. After checking into the incident, there was no evidence to support
what Gunner was saying. No student saw the incident and no teacher reported it to
me. The next day his father came and wanted to know why Gage was still in class
and I told him that I talked to his parents he did not think that was enough. I told him
Where Does Aerospace Engineering Work
Aerospace Engineers design aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, and other airborne objects.
Creating prototypes of these designs and testing them is also a primary part of the
job. They may also evaluate the designs of other engineers to ensure that the idea
meets certain ethical, safety, and environmental standards. It is not unusual for
Aerospace Engineers to oversee the building process as well, ensuring that proper
deadlines are met. Typically an Aerospace Engineers specializes in either aeronautical
or astronautical design, which will determine whether they work with aircraft or
spacecraft.
After gaining more experience in the field, overseeing and directing these processes
may also be required. Aerospace Engineers often collaborate with engineers or
construction specialists during the designing and building process. ... Show more

Aerospace Engineers spend most of their time in an office setting working with
advanced computer equipment and sophisticated programs. At times, an Aerospace
Engineer may find themselves working in a manufacturing environment so they can
oversee the construction and implementation of a design.
Aerospace Engineers work full time on regular schedules. However, managing larger
projects can require overtime hours, particularly when deadlines are approaching.
What Is the Average Aerospace Engineer Salary?
Aerospace Engineers earn an average of $102,720 annually. The lowest 10% make
around $65,450, while the highest 10% earned around $149,120. Managerial

Essay on the Devil in Paradise Lost, Holy Bible, Faust,...
The Devil s Role in Paradise Lost, The Bible, Faust, and The Devil and Tom Walker
The devil s role as the inspiration for rock and roll is already well documented and
commonly understood. Perhaps less well documented is the role of the Devil as
inspiration for literature. The Devil has played an active role in literature for quite a
while with his name appearing in stories for centuries.
The historical devil has not always been personified. Initially, in religious settings, he
was represented as a feeling or power, in attendance as the force of evil, an antagonist
to goodness and divinity, and temptation for humans. Although not always
represented as human, he has always been represented. In fact, demonstrating that he

No longer just a religious being, under the direction of artists, the devil assumed the
shape of a fleshed out character.4 Representations of the devil changed first from
feared supernatural force to a god of grace, 5 and next to a prankster and satirist6
and, at worst, a monster in appearance. With this final development, the devil was
almost ready for the Charlie Daniels Band, but first he had to be fine tuned.
The first important literary work in the devil s modern development was Milton s
Paradise Lost. Although the devil s battle takes place in his earliest arena, Heaven, he
is somewhat anthropomorphic, suspiciously human in anatomy but also bearing
wings, horns, and hooves. Next was Goethe s Faust, whose title character is tempted
by an under demon, Mephistopheles, to whom he submits. Later, just as his contract
with the devil is about to run out, Faust turns to God to escape damnation and repents.
Although it had drawn from Theophilus, a medieval text, Faustus originality lies in
its non biblical plot (unlike Paradise Lost).7 The devil had taken a new form in
literature and other storytellers took to this incarnation.
By characterizing the devil as a person (most commonly a man), authors endowed
him with significant qualities signifying qualities, really, many of which are recycled
in The Devil Went Down to Georgia. The devil is frequently wealthy, a sharp
Plea Bargaining Case Study
The plea bargaining process is a crucial tool used in today s courts system so that the
court can flow efficiently without become congested with court cases. However,
although plea bargains help the court, they have been known to generate problems for
the defendants in the court. A plea bargain is an agreement between the prosecutor
and the defendant in exchange for their guilty plea with a more lenient sentence than
what they could possibly receive in court. Pleasbecome a problem with defendants
because it causes a disservice to those who are truly innocent, poor, or even those of
a minority race.
Plea bargains are used for 97% of court cases at the federal level, and 94% of cases at
the state level (Smith, 1987). However, not all those ... Show more content on

I think this would be an important and beneficial solution to help prevent coercion,
sentence disparities, and improper meetings. First, I would conduct research and
place my findings together to present to my peers. Since I am a student in college,
I would find fellow students in my classes who do and do not support my findings
and create a group to help spread awareness of the importance of this issue. After
creating a support group consisted of different perspectives, I would alter my
research to propose a bill concerning the establishment of these boards to oversee
prosecutor s work. From there, I would address my local representative with my
proposition all the while raising awareness of the bill in my community to help gain
support through guest speaking at local events. After spreading awareness locally, I
would present my findings to news stations and newspapers to spread the proposed
bill over the state of Mississippi to help raise awareness across the
Compare And Contrast And Chestnet
Courts typically break the reasonable manner component down into the actions or
lack of actions that were performed by the individual or individuals representing the
store during the detention. Actions that are deemed reasonable in the eyes are the
court are escorting, asking the individual to stop and reenter store, asking for a
receipt, or asking for the individual in question to demonstrate some sort of proof that
effect they were not stealing. In Chestnet, the store requested she return, escorted her
to an office inside the store, and voluntarily emptied her purse reveling the stolen
item. (cite) Similarly, Bowman reflected reasonable detention performance: security
managed to halt them, ask for their receipt, led the individuals back into the
Customer Service office, and ask the individuals in question to proved a receipt for
the stolen merchandise. (cite) Both cases demonstrate a form of reasonable manner,
that a store most perform in order to gain protection from the shopkeeper exception

Essay on Compare and contrast †Disgrace’ with
Jude the...
J.M Coetzee s Disgrace literates Lurie s attempt and failure of the seduction of a
school girl, Melanie. This is a campus novel about the first flirtation between a
university lecturer and a student. The aptly named novel suggests the possible overall
outcome of having a relationship with a student.
Disgrace is written from a third person in favour of the protagonist, David Lurie s
point of view. Lurie is someone who has achieved what he wanted to in life,
academically but perhaps not romantically? Whereas, Melonie Issacs, his student has
yet to fully experience university life to it s full and to achieve her academic goals.
This novel is written in present tense which gives a sense of ominicity. (I really want

Similarly to Disgrace , Jude is a novel about a first flirtation. Jude is a young
scholar, (like Melonie) who is determined to do well in his studies who has been
disturbed from his ambitions by the country girls. These women s crude sexuality
is threatening Jude s scholarship and ambitions. Arabella is very similar to the
character of Moire in Brian Friel s Translations as they are both animalistic down to
earth women. In contrast to Disgrace , Jude has an omniscient narrator, giving us in
site into all of the characters lives. This guides the reader to feel sympathetic
towards Jude as the women are preying on him, also contrasting to Disgrace as in
that extract, the male is the perpetrator and the woman is prey. Jude doubts Arabella,
but is however, curious of her. She holds him back from his ambition and deviates
him from the straight and narrow , his relationship with Arabella progresses beyond
this extract, but undoubtedly ends in heartbreak and unhappiness. This is also
illuistrated by the initial throwing of the penis, the complete disreguard of the male
sexual organ which has been thrown in his face causing a mockery.
Lurie in Disgrace uses poetic language forms and phrases with his attempt to lure
Melanie into his seduction; he is fixated on her physical attributes stating that a
woman s beauty does not belong to her alone . This could be considered as an
attempt to

  • 2. Film Photography Process Analysis Essay Ever wonder how those wonderful, abstract photographs in the museums came to be? How the photographer organized and developed the image hanging in front you? Most people don t realize or understand the process of developing a photograph and turning it into a museum print beyond just taking the picture; like composing the image, developing the film, printing the image, and framing it. If you re interested, I ll show you just about everything I do as a photographer to get complete, framed print ready for the gallery. First and foremost, I have to buy my film of course. Choosing what film to shoot with involves deciding what film speed, or ISO, I want my film to be depending on if I m shooting during the day, at night, portraits, color... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you overexpose the paper, it ll come out too dark or even just completely black. So once I ve figured out what settings are right, I expose the paper to the light with the enlarger, and develop the paper through a similar process as the film development. But now it s 2 minutes in the developer for the paper, 1 minute in stop bath, 8 minutes divided into two separate fixer baths, and 30 minutes to completely wash all those chemicals off the print. After all that, the paper can sit to dry. Once dry, I mount it on mount board by gluing tissue paper to the back of the image onto the board and pressed all together in a heat compressor to stick everything together. Then, once it s framed, it s good to go into a gallery! And just finding a gallery to accept your image is a whole nother endeavor. Maybe now you get an idea of what happens beyond the camera and just taking the picture. So next time you re at a photographic museum, you can appreciate the hard work and determination that went to creating the images surrounding you and why they cost so
  • 3. Self Discovery In Larry s Party And No Country For Old Men As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood. In order to come to a complete understanding of what life is it must first be lived through. In order to live through life fully to gain the best understanding there must be many experiences that are both good and bad that help characters discover themselves and life. Carol Shields Larry s Party, and Cormac McCarthy s No Country for Old Men both illustrate and individuals journey of self discovery uniquely as their characters start a journey, where they learn about who they are through trials and failures that lead them each to a clearer, individual, definition of what life is. Any kind of event can start a journey, the characters in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After marrying his first wife, Dorrie and getting lost in a maze on their honeymoon, which should be a high point of his marriage, Larry enters a rare state of lucidity, Departures and arrivals. He didn t know it then but these two forces would form the twin balls of his existence as would the brief moments of clarity that rose up in between, offering stillness. (Shields, 37). Although Larry does not realize it at this time he will eventually be able to draw this conclusion from his life. His life experiences lead him through the departures and arrivals of; his passions, floristry to maze building, his marriages and subsequent divorces, Dorrie and Beth, as well as his life style changes, comfortable middle class to specialized high class. This also happens with Larry s emotions as Verlyn Klinkenborg states, He contends with the unsteadiness of his emotions, a love for Dorrie and (his son) that can easily be roused and just as easily lost sight of. Larry s life is one that is constantly changing both by his own doing and the natural path of life. Throughout his experiences Larry has dealt many changes in every aspect of his life and it has allowed him a better understanding of how life, in his experience, works. Life goes by fleetingly, constantly changing the circumstances in which one lives. At another point in Larry s life, following a dinner party he has hosted in which all of his guests were people that he has built a relationship with through his life,he thinks, We will go round and around.. Watching where were going. Where we ve been. (Shields, 336). The conclusion that Larry has drawn here, that he will always cycle through the same things in life, are only possible because of the experiences he has lived through. He has gone from a happy life with a wife and
  • 4. The Chu Lai Massacre Attacks stretched as far as the northern U.S. military installation, Chu Lai, down to the primary objective in the south, Saigon. The launch of such an intricate and fierce attack caught many U.S. commanders off guard because at the time, the potential of the Northern fighters was severely underestimated. In the years before, Saigon acted as a safe haven for many refugees trying to escape the horrors of war. The comfort of the city soon vanished when the North Vietnamese sent 35 battalions to seize six objectives in the capital. A few of these enemy fighters took over a government radio station with the intention of spreading pro communist propaganda. The North Vietnamese believed that if they could control the transmitting tower, they could convince the citizens of the South to riot against the U.S. forces. Fortunately for the U.S. troops, this plan was stopped by a Lieutenant of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam(ARVN) who previously decided to cut all transmission to and from the government radio tower. As the Viet Cong were waiting for reinforcements, ARVN troops... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Confused by the explosions and machinegun fire coming from both sides, many reporters couldn t quite tell who had the upper hand. The confusion left many reporters with the assumption that the enemy had taken over the embassy, even though it was an obvious win for American forces. It wasn t long until a picture of three U.S. soldiers fighting for their life alongside two of their dead brothers was plastered onto the front page of the New York Times. American televisions and newspapers were being filled with the horrible images of the Vietnam War. For many Americans, this was their first glimpse at war, and it was gruesome. Even though the event at the embassy were less catastrophic than the reporters made it seem, the footage of U.S. troops fighting for their own embassy shocked many

Auschwitz Historical Overview Auschwitz: A Historical Overview of the Death Camp The Holocaust is one of the most horrifying crimes against humanity. quot;Hitler, in an attempt to establish the pure Aryan race, decided that all mentally ill, gypsies, non supporters of Nazism, and Jews were to be eliminated from the German population. He proceeded to reach his goal in a systematic scheme. quot; (Bauer, 58) One of his main methods of exterminating these undesirables was through the use of concentration and death camps. Unfortunately, many prisoners didn t even survive the train ride to the camps. Herded like cattle, exhaustion, disease, and starvation ended the long treacherous journey for many of the prisoners. On the trains, Jews were starved of food and water for days. Nearly 8% of the people did not even survive the ride to the camps. (Nyiszli, 37) When they arrived at the camps, most of the families who were shipped out together, ended up being separated. Often, the transports were a sampling of what went on in the camps: cruelty by the officers, near starvation of those being transported, as well as fetid and unsanitary conditions. For the people who survived the trip, it was just the beginning of the living nightmare that they would face inside the walls of Auschwitz. Jews were forced to obey the guards orders from the moment they arrived at the camps. quot;If they didn t, they would be beaten, put into solitary confinement, or shot. quot; (Nyiszli, 49) A prisoner said, quot;I can remember when I first arrived. The S.S. would take babies right out of their mother s arms, throw them in the air and then shoot them. This is when I realized that I had just entered hell. quot; (Nyiszli, 102) The prisoners had

I chose this topic because I ve heard some intriguing facts about Andrew Jackson before, and I wanted to learn the details of them. Also, I wanted to learn more about our 7th President. I ve always heard that he was an avid duelist, and that Andrew Jacksonused his own cane to beat a man, who tried to assassinate him. I wanted to know the details about both of these events, so I decided to dig deeper into Andrew Jackson s life. My first site that I used for my internet bibliography was on the external links. I did find the photo shopped bottles of Jack Daniels, that were in Jackson s hands in each photo hysterical. I found myself unable to keep a straight face as I read the author s spin on Andrew Jackson s life. Some of the information was facts I ve read other places, but other information was hard to separate between fact and fiction. Hands down, my favorite part had to be when the author gave his take on John C. Calhoun. I belly laughed for a good ten minutes. Freezing Point Depression Lab Report Norah Albaiz CHMY143 016 Katie Link Lab Partner: Lydia Aman Freezing Point Depression Measurements Purpose: The purpose of the experiment was to determine the molar mass of three unknown solutes by measuring the freezing point depression of a solution containing each of the unknowns. When a solute is dissolved in a solvent, the vapor pressure of the solvent is lowered. As a result of the decrease in the vapor pressure, the colligative properties change. Colligative properties include vapor pressure lowering, boiling point elevation, freezing point depression and changes in osmotic pressure. Colligative properties are physical properties because they are dependent only upon the number of particles of solute that are dissolved in the solvent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3 to MM solute= Kf(grams solute)/[ О”Tf (kg solvent)] MM unknown D= 4.30 В°C/m (0.09 g)/[3.35 В°C (0.00163)] = 70.9 g/mol The experimental average Kf was calculated to be 4.29, which was pretty close to the actual value of 4.30. The identification of Unknown D was Pentane, and the actual compound was Pentane. However, for Unknowns A and C the experimental molar masses were off by 14 g each. The actual molar mass of ethanol is 46.07, where the experimental one was 160.36. That is mostly due to the hydrogen bonding between ethanol molecules, the strong hydrogen bonding interactions are responsible for the high freezing point, which lead to a higher molar mass. As you can see supercooling has obviously occurred in graphs 1 and 5. Supercooling is the process of chilling a liquid below its freezing point, without it becoming solid. The reason why molality was used in the experiment instead of molarity is because molarity depends of volume and volume changes with temperature. A nonpolar solvent would work better with this experiment, because p xylene is a nonpolar solvent and non polar molecules will dissolve with non polar

That very solar system is special since it has seven planets that are very alike to our Earth. With the terrain being rocky and warm enough that it could support life on it. This discovery is the first time people have ever found that out that there are rocky planets that are orbiting a single star. Before we have the technology we have today, the only terrestrial planets we knew of being four planets. They named them TRAPPIST в‚Ѓb, в‚Ѓc and в‚Ѓd. Later, Gilion realized that the dip in brightness he thought came from в‚Ѓd was actually caused by three planets all crossing at the same time. They eventually realized that there were actually seven planets. The quote explains that all former three planets were orbiting their own star, which were caused in a dip of brightness that caused the planets to cross at the same time. All TRAPPIST planets orbit the same star, the line on which they orbit all move at the same times. They reach each starting point at the same time which is not really like other planets we have ever heard of before, mainly because the all of the planets in our solar system all move at their own speed. The author calls this contribution to harmful activities bad voting; he does make the distinction that someone does not vote badly if they have substantial evidence that the policy was good, but it ended up being harmful. The individual votes do not have a large enough impact to sway the outcome of the vote in a certain direction, the harm from bad voting is a collective effort among a group of voters. Desire for power played a major role in the collapse of the Republic because Caesar, the man who arguably began the Republic s downfall, marched on Rome because he wanted power. The second ideal that led to the Republic s collapse was greed and the power of money, for example bribing officials in Rome, Crassus shocking alliance with Caesar, and Pompey s strategy to fight Caesar during the first civil war. Similar to lust for power, greed could be found within the Republic before its collapse. For example, patricians, aristocrats, would buy farmland from plebeians who were serving in the army, and they used the land to increase their wealth. Lastly, loyalty was viewed as an important aspect of the Republic, specifically loyalty to politicians, family, and the Republic s beliefs. Others prefer space heaters for the savings they provide by allowing you to heat only the rooms you use. There are many different types of portable heaters, all of which use slightly different methods to warm the space. Which one will work best for you depends on the characteristics of the space you will be heating. You should also take into account how loud the heateris when running and consider safety issues, especially if you have children or pets. The overwhelming majority of space heaters available today are electric. This is because most states have banned unvented combustible space heaters due to carbon monoxide and other gasses. Vented kerosene and gas heaters are available, but are not portable, as they require the installation of a vent from the heater to the outside of the home. Radiant Heaters Infrared Radiant heaters work by warming objects directly adjacent to them. They provide heat quickly but do so in a straight line. Like the sun s rays, infrared heat warms only objects in its direct path and cannot work around obstacles. As a result, infrared heaters work best in open areas free of obstructions. These heaters use very little energy but do emit a soft orange glow, which some feel makes them bothersome in bedrooms. They are also hot to the touch and require caution when used around pets and children. Infrared heaters do run silently, however. If you are sitting in one spot for a length of time, an infrared heater aimed in your direction will be a good choice. Many infrared heaters are now built into wooden cabinets. This makes the heaters more attractive and cooler to the touch. Radiators Radiant heat is also created by portable oil filled radiators. These radiant heaters consist of a series of tubes filled with oil. This oil is warmed and then the heat radiates off of the unit to the surrounding area. The oil in these heaters is warmed but never burned as fuel, so there is no need to refill them or perform other maintenance tasks. Like infrared heaters, oil filled radiators are very energy efficient and silent but hot to the touch. Unlike an infrared

He envisions himself wandering around the supermarket, surrounded by consumers eyeing produce, and, among them, Walt Whitman and Garcia Lorca. The low professional status of young doctors began to draw in attention to this practice. The study of anesthesia made some drastic changes in healthcare , while appreciating the full potential of anesthesia surgeons have required longer practices . By the early 1900 s Britain and the United States and many doctors started to specialize in Anesthesia. By the 1960 s many anesthetic offices were created with teams of nurses and doctors. By 1978 The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that nurses who practiced anesthesia would be an essential service and major contribution (medicalises) which then then had been true. Many surgeries performed today would not be possible without the help of anesthetists. Although some training may take up to three years in some countries nurses often change their job titles, but In turkey and Sudan they become medical assistants, In Uganda their title becomes anesthesia officer, and in China once they complete anesthetist school they become physicians. This song not only shows things that happen in real life, like abuse and lovers that cheat on each other, but also she is acting as a voce for all women and saying stand up for yourself and de not take any crap from anyone. She wrote this songabout a woman that has been cheated on and decides to stand up for herself and be strong. The story that she is telling during the whole duration of the song is that she caught her boyfriend cheating on her. Throughout this song she seems to exaggerate more than she should but in particular places she uses over exaggeration such as in the line, It s my name that s on that jag, so come move your bags, and let me call you a cab (Lines 9, 10). In this line you can hear how she overly exaggerates the words and stresses them to the point that it stands out. By her over exaggerating during this line, she is trying to make sure she is getting the point of the song across to her

The home team wins the race and passes the ball to their teammate. They settle the ball, gather their footing, and kick the ball at the goal. The goalie dives and misses the ball as it hits the back of the net. The team rushes toward each other celebrating the goal with a team hug. Club sports are just as entertaining as varsity sports yet most people don t see it this way. This is only one of the multiple differences between varsity and club soccer. There is no reason why the Athletic Department can t let us use those buses to drive ourselves to games. They don t need to pay a driver, we can drive ourselves to save money. This is an easy fix and would make traveling for club teams much easier. It would also eliminate the chances of getting separated and lost. The Athletic Department may object to this solution because, it is a liability to the school and will cost the school gas money. However, club soccer fundraises for uniforms, therefore we could also fundraise a little extra money to fill up the gas tanks for the buses. They could also make club athletes fill out liability forms, like going on a field trip in high school, that says the school is not liable for anything that happens. Field space is limited and this makes it difficult for both varsity and club to find space and time to practice. Take soccer for example. There are three grass soccer fields available to play on. However, one is called Melucci Stadium and is used strictly for games and is off limits for practices. Now we are down to two fields, neither of which have lights. This makes a difference because both varsity soccer teams have a field from four to six. Now where does that leave club soccer? Well, they let us have the fields from six to eight, yet around

The Edge Geodetic Domination Number ABSTRACT In this paper the concept of upper edge geodetic domination number (UEGD number) and upper connected edge geodetic domination number (UCEGD number) of a graph is studied. An edge geodetic domination set (EGD set) S in a connected graph is minimal EGD set if no proper subset of S is an edge geodetic domination set. The maximum cardinality of all the minimal edge geodetic domination set is called UEGD number. An EGD set S in a connected graphis minimal CEGD set if no proper subset of S is a CEGD set. The maximum cardinality of all the minimal connected edge geodetic domination set is called UCEGD number. Here the UEGD number and UCEGD number of certain graphs are identified. Also for two positive integers p and q there exist some connected graph with EGD number p and UEGD number q. Overcome resistance Reducing or overcoming resistance to change depends on identifying source of resistance; it also depends on a leader s ability to be task oriented when it is required. Here are 3 major strategies to deal with resistance to change (Cummings and Worley, 1993): Empathy and support: this is the first step to know those who are experiencing troubles of change, giving them possible ways of support, it is important to let those people notice that they are taken care of, and a more friendly relationship will be made. Communication: people tend to resist when things become uncertain, an effective communication is strongly demanded, it also help people prepare for the change. Participation and involvement: it is a very good idea to get those who are facing change involve directly in planning and implementing change, participation is the best way to overcome resistance. No matter how we think change may be, there is one thing that we shouldn t forget is that change can be exciting and can bring new and positive opportunities for all. Today the role of halophilic organisms in salt production has evolved to facilitate rapid evaporation of salt crystals due to increased absorbance of light by their red purple pigments. The purple membrane of the halophilic archaeathat enables them to grow phototrophically and carry out phototactic responses contain the light driven proton pump, bacteriorhodopsin, and sensory rhodopsins. Molecules like bacteriorhodopsin are especially of industrial interest because they are stable over a wide range of temperatures, usually between 0в—¦C and 45в—¦C, and pH values, usually between 1 and 11 (Ventosa and Nieto 1995). Moreover, the reactions of bacteriorhodopsin can be manipulated genetically, chemically or immunologically and are self regenerative. Therefore, the ability of these biomolecules to convert the energy from light to chemical energy in a non chlorophyll system has various industrial applications. For one, bacteriorhodopsin can be utilized as light sensors and for optical data processing or nonlinear optics. It is currently also being proposed for producing erasable photochromic film (Hampp et. al 1992). Furthermore, bacteriorhodopsin can also be used as a light sensor as they

Perhaps less well documented is the role of the Devil as inspiration for literature. The Devil has played an active role in literature for quite a while with his name appearing in stories for centuries. The historical devil has not always been personified. With this final development, the devil was almost ready for the Charlie Daniels Band, but first he had to be fine tuned. The first important literary work in the devil s modern development was Milton s Paradise Lost. Although the devil s battle takes place in his earliest arena, Heaven, he is somewhat anthropomorphic, suspiciously human in anatomy but also bearing wings, horns, and hooves. Next was Goethe s Faust, whose title character is tempted by an under demon, Mephistopheles, to whom he submits. Later, just as his contract with the devil is about to run out, Faust turns to God to escape damnation and repents. Although it had drawn from Theophilus, a medieval text, Faustus originality lies in its non biblical plot (unlike Paradise Lost).7 The devil had taken a new form in literature and other storytellers took to this incarnation. By characterizing the devil as a person (most commonly a man), authors endowed him with significant qualities signifying qualities, really, many of which are recycled in The Devil Went Down to Georgia.
