The Animal Of Entertainment Should Be Considered Animal...
In the last decade, society has erupted in controversy over aquariums and it has driven
both aquarium workers and consumers to speak up on the issue of the cruelty that
animals placed in these situations have faced. Individuals have gone to aquariums as a
form of entertainment for decades and they have become a part of American culture.
On average, one aquarium has opened each year for the past 12 years, a 50 percent
increase over the 25 accredited aquariums that existed prior to 1990 (Savoye). Aquariums
such as SeaWorld, which welcomes millions of people each year, allows families to
experience the joy of seeing creatures that they normally would not have the chance to
see. However, behind this joy is the pain that these marine... Show more content on

Killer whales such as Tilikum are intelligent, social animals that need a large space to
thrive. However, in aquariums and theme parks like SeaWorld, these marine animals
are forced to live in small, unnatural spaces that cause them distress. (See Figure 1). As
a result, their personalities and temperaments will change and it can have deadly
consequences. When discussing Tilikum, John Jett, a scientist and former SeaWorld
trainer says, There s no place to swim and not much to do. His teeth cause infections.
He s sunburned. He s bullied. Given his boring life and ill health, it comes as no
surprise that he killed (Tocco). While SeaWorld workers may claim that the whales that
are put into captivity are not subjected to harm and are given plenty of room to roam,
there is no justification behind forcing these animals to live in solitude. For such
intelligent and social creatures, living this way goes against their very nature.
Additionally, aquariums have adopted many disturbing practices that include tearing
calves away from their mothers and transferring them to different theme parks. In the
wild, orcas tend to live in pods, which can have up to 30 whales, that will travel together
for their entire lives. The experience of having it s calf taken away is extremely traumatic
for both the mother and the calf, given that in the wild the calf rarely leaves its mother s
side. A former diver named Crowe told Cowperthwaite that he kidnapped baby whales for

Charlie Murphy Research Paper
Beloved comedian Charlie Murphy, elder brother of the famed comic Eddie Murphy,
passed away from leukemia complications Wednesday, April 12. Murphy s passing
comes unexpectedly, as he was a part of an on going tour with fellow comedians Cedric
the Entertainer and George Lopez. Like his counterparts, Murphy s comedycentered
around masculinity, however his stand up comedy often illustrated normative ideas of
Black masculinity and how Black men navigate social situations among each other.
In 1989, Murphy entered the cinematic scene in Harlem Nights, a black comedy and
crime movie directed by his brother. He also held minor roles in Spike Lee s Mo
Better Blues and Jungle Fever. In the early 2000s, Murphy cemented his status as a
comedic figure in Chappelle s Show. Fans will remember Murphy and Chappelle s
hilarious sketch series, True Hollywood Stories, where reenacted Murphy s over the

various movies and TV shows as well as performing stand up comedy, notably I Will Not

In True Hollywood Stories, Chapelle and Murphy comedically reenacted Murphy s
experience playing basketball with Prince. Murphy s storytelling, however, recalls
some of the heteronormative expressions of Black masculinity. In the skit, he states, I
think it was in 85, like when all that androgynous sh*t was going on, and what was wild
was that the guy who looked the most like a b*tch was getting all the women. Murphy
was referring to 80s fashion and music, which was noted for its eclectic and feminine
characteristics. Murphy also marveled at Prince, a figure renowned for his genre defying
music as much as his refutation of gender roles, and his attractivity and popularity with

Finding the time and resources to keep Twitter updated can often be a challenge for the
average business owner. So I m always on the look out for tools that can help with the
process and take away a lot of the grunt work.
One way to do this is through the use of RSS or content feeds. RSS stands for Really
Simple Syndication . An RSS feed is basically a file containing syndicated content that s
readable by software.
For example, most blogs have RSS feeds automatically built in (yourblog.com/feed if it s
on WordPress), along with a lot of other sites such as YouTube and SlideShare.
This can make the use of RSS very useful in keeping your Twitter account updated with
relevant content, while leaving you free to make other updates, engage with your
followers, and so on.
So how can you use RSS feeds to help power your Twitter account? Here are 3 different
ways to approach it.
1. IFTTT
IFTTT stands for If This Then That , and allows you to set up automation tasks consisting
of triggers that automate certain follow on actions.

Establishing A Leadership Philosophy Helps Guide Actions,...
All leaders wield a certain significant level of influence within their organizations or over
their followers based upon their own personal philosophy. Being a leader without
considering on a personal level key values that one finds important can result in
inconsistent outcomes. Establishing a leadership philosophy helps guide actions,
behaviors and thoughts. A leadershipphilosophy is developed through a combination of
internal and external forces that impact an individual over their lifetime. There have been
a number of theories formulated that attempt to explain what the traits of a successful
leader consists of. One theory is that certain traits such as extraversion, intelligence,
openness, conscientiousness, and experience are often... Show more content on

By constantly reflecting on how a leaders actions impact their followers a successful
leader can recognize their assumptions and learn how they, as leaders, react to certain
situations. Patti Clayton, a faculty member for North Carolina State University and
article writer for the journal On the Horizon states, the value of reflection on experience
as a way to enhance learning has been advanced since the days of Dewey (1910), who
noted that such reflection is key not only to improved understanding, but also to more
informed and effective action. Learning through reflection on the implementation of
innovative pedagogies, especially those that are themselves grounded in reflection on
experience (Clayton). To develop and grow as a leader it is important that reflection
occurs. Personally, I have reflected on both the positive and negative significant events
in my life. I have attempted to recognize the meaning of each event and somehow
identify how I could grow as a result. I take the time out of my schedule every three days
to reflection my actions that I think are significant to me or anyone that I have come in
contact with. Reflection for me is more than talking and thinking about past experiences.
Rather, it is a total emotional and physical effort in attempts to understand how such
significant events have helped shape who we are as
Similarities Between Gilgamesh And Genesis
There is a lot of evidence to prove and explain how the Israelite people might have
known or heard some Babylonian myths. This evidence is shown through similarities
in the Genesis creation myths and many Babylonian myths. As an example, there are
many similarities shown throughout the Gilgamesh story that relates to the Noah
story in Genesis. Some similarities include the heroes character, the order to build a
boat, the number of animals, the means of the flood, and the action of sacrificing after
the flood. These are only a few of the many similarities interpreted in these stories. The
first similarity is that the character of the heroes in both the Gilgamesh story as well as
the Genesis/Noah story. In both stories, the heroes character is righteous. For
example, in Noah s Arc, it states that a righteous man (Genesis 6:9) was directed to
build an ark to save a limited and select group of people and all species of animals.
Noah received these orders directly from God. On the other hand, Utnapishtim
received his order from a dream. The next similarity is the order to build a boat. In the
Gilgamesh, Utnapishtim is clearly instructed to build a boat and leave all wealth
behind. O man of Shuruppak, son of Ubartutu: Tear down the house and build a boat!
Abandon wealth and seek living beings! (Gilgamesh 23 25). In comparison at the
beginning of the Noah flood story, Noah is also instructed to build a boat or an arc for
the flood. So make yourself an ark of cypress
Using Complex Numbers In Circuit Analysis
Complex Analysis:
Complex analysis, traditionally known as the theory of functions of a complex variable,
is the branch of mathematical analysis that investigates functions of complex numbers. It
is useful in many branches of mathematics, including algebraic geometry, number theory,
applied mathematics; as well as in physics, including hydrodynamics and
thermodynamics and also in engineering fields such as nuclear, aerospace, mechanical
and electrical engineering.
Murray R. Spiegel described complex analysis as one of the most beautiful as well as
useful branches of Mathematics .

Take a look at the equations in the previous section. The addition and subtraction
equations do not mix up the real and imaginary parts, but the equations for multiplication
and division do. Multiplying a complex number by a real constant also obviously does not
mix up the real and imaginary parts. Essentially, a linear equation is one that will not
mix up the real and imaginary parts of the voltages and currents. From a practical
standpoint, a linear circuit is one that includes only passive components (resistors,
capacitors, and inductors) plus voltage and/or current sources. No diodes, transistors,
vacuum tubes, etc. are allowed. It is perhaps worth mentioning here that the same
formalism, with the same advantages of using complex numbers, works in mechanics
when dealing with small, harmonic oscillations of mechanical systems. voe^(j(wt)) or Io

the relative phases of the sources must be taken into account. Then treat each passive

The Marble Champ
Never give up. Always keep going. Try hard. Practice makes perfect. The Marble
Champ by Gary Soto is a great story. A girl named Lupe is not good at sports but she
finds something athletic that she could be good at. She found marbles. She practiced
until she got so good, she won the marbles championship. For this matter, I think a
possible theme in this story is to never give, just like Lupe did. A couple reasons why,
are because she practices, perseveres, and always gives 100% effort.
To begin, one reason why a possible theme could be to never give up is Lupe practices.
At the beginning of the story Lupe did fingertip pushups. She did 20 of them in sets of
five, so every so often she could take a break. This seems like a lot to ask from someone
who isn t that strong. She also squeezed a eraser for a long time. From doing this she
got so good she beat Alfonso. Alfonso was a neighborhood kid who was really good at
marbles, but Lupe got so good she beat him! In the story it says, Man, she s bad!
Alfonso said. She can beat the other girls for sure. I think. This was right after Lupe
beat Alfonso, and he was one of the best at marbles. Another reason is Lupe only... Show

Persevere means to keep trying even if you have failed. One example, is that even in
marbles when Lupe missed a shot she didn t let it get her, and make her quit, this shows
that she wants to keep going and continue, not quit. Secondly, she wasn t good at sports.
Instead of just thinking she wouldn t be good at something athletic. She tried. In the
story it says, She could not catch a pop up figure in which direction to kick the soccer
ball. Instead, she at least put in effort to try and get good at something athletic. Finally, In
the marble championship Lupe was going up against a girl that looked tough, but Lupe
didn t turn around and walk away. She faced the girl. Lupe shoes a great amount of
Economic Systems In The United States
There are many different economic systems around the world that are tailored to fit the
needs of each and every country. Command Economy, Mixed Economy, Market
Economy, Traditional Economy and Free Enterprise are a few. These systems help round
and establish our world today and create our future.
Command Economy is one of the few types of economic systems that are used
worldwide. For this, the government controls the economy and may even determine what
sorts of work individuals do. This type of economy tends to develop when a country finds
itself possessing a large amount of valuable resources. The government then regulates the
resources, usually they will own everything involved in the industrial process. Some
advantages would be that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ownership of property and the freedom to create the means of production are guaranteed

comparison to America s. An advantage would be that this system maximizes profits
whereas the disadvantage is it maximizes profits above everything. This system is still in
use today with Canada, United States, and
Sir Walter Raleigh War On Drugs
A noble English man Sir Walter Raleigh, who introduced the art of smoking was the
first Victim of the war on drugs and drug related activities? Sir Walter Raleigh was
smoking a cigarette and was so involved in it, he ignored the amorous advances of his
wife. She thought he was on fire and, she poured a bucket of water over him to

stop illegal drugs in our society. In the United States, the war on drugs creates a need for
the pharmaceutical industries to analyze how legal drugs affect the social, economic and

Sophocles Oedipus the King
People can be blinded by the truth. In the play, Oedipus the King, there are many
references to blindness and sight throughout. Certain characters have physically limited
blindness such as the prophet Teiresias, but have the ability to see the truth. While other
characters such as Oedipus, have perfect vision, but they re blind to the truth. In the play,
sight is used to represent knowledge. An example would be how prophets or seers, can
see the truth behind what is really going on. Throughout the play, Oedipusis blind to
everything that alludes to his downfall despite being pretty obvious. The underlying
question in the play is if one can alter his fate. Sophocles uses sight and blindness to
answer this question by showing that being blind or having sight can alter one s fate.
When Oedipus is blind from the truth, he is safe from his destiny. He is safe because if
he doesn t know anything about the prophecy, it won t come true in a way. He
believed his biological parents to be the King and Queen of Corinth. So when he killed
King Laius, it would have been just a random person to him and not his real father. But
once he learns of the prophecy, this is when the actual prophecy unfolds. He flees
Corinth because of what the oracle said to him. Thus setting in motion the events of the
play. If Oedipus was never made aware of the truth, then he could have remained
blissfully ignorant and may have not fulfilled the prophecy.
If Oedipus, on the other hand was made

most of his life ill, very ill, in face often times when you would see him in the past he

something we need to take very serious because you never know when you might need

organs are donated after your death. There are a number of ways to accomplish this.

Similarities Between The Yellow Wallpaper And The...
The dominance of men over woman has been around for centuries. Most men in the 19th
century thought that woman were supposed to be this feminine obedient housewife, and
obey anything that their husband demands of them. When woman are profound to biased

many writers have described the effect of an unequal relationship and feminism, John

In the poem A work of Artifice written by Marge Piercy displays the transform and
discouragement most woman go through to be accepted in a man s world. The poem
begins with the speaker discussing a bonsai tree and how the tree if given the
opportunity could grow to eight feet tall. The tree through the use of imagery is used
to symbolize the way that women are oppressed by males. Till split by lightning , I
think that the fate of men being a high power is the lighting that broke the bonsai tree.
The poem carries on talking about how a gardener saved it, pruned it, and how it grew.
The gardener in this story symbolizes men taking care of woman, but yet making sure
they woman have their limits to not outgrow men: With living creatures one must begin
very early to dwarf their growth . The man or society must begin early as well in order
to trick women into unwillingly being oppressed. Men feel the need to stunt ones growth
or to belittle a person and to make them feel small. This is what

however no one notices that not only technology is being used but it is also taking

The machines were able to do the work up to 10 times faster than the manual laborer.
According to Jeremy Rifkin As the new generation of smart robots, armed with greater
intelligence and flexibility, make their way to the market, automakers are far more
likely to substitute them for workers because they are most cost effective (Rifkin page

humans to work for them. Now in the year 2000 s, we can use the internet whenever
we want to and where ever we are. As quoted on the article New Technology and The

Is there simply a preference to speak English more while in the states? The answer to
those questions is simply a hard no. This is not the result of assimilation, most Puerto
Ricans do not willing decide to rid themselves Spanish unless faced with brutal shame and
discrimination. As a product of this phenomenon myself and using my life as field notes,
this erasure happens quickly. Within three generations, my family has gone from only
Spanish speakers (the first generation, born in Puerto Rico), to bilingual speakers (the
second generation, born in Puerto Rico), to only English speakers (the first generation,
born in the states). Instead of dealing with the struggle of finding a job or being made

seemingly harmless way to stop the mistreatment of Puerto Ricans by others who police

a lack of social norms or normlessness. It describes the breakdown of social bonds
between an individual and the community. This can happen under unruly scenarios,
resulting in fragmentation of social identity and the rejection of self regulatory values. In
this episode, Rick, Shane, and Randall had to let go of... Show more content on

Anomic suicide occurs as the result of not belonging to a specific group, or society in
general. There is such much normlessness in the post apocalyptic world that Beth feels
she should kill herself. In that world where there are really no norms governing
behavior and there is a lack of morality, the amount of anomic deaths is bound to be
high. Beth was lacking social contacts and a sense of belonging. This episode supports
the material presented in this course. In the textbook we have used for this course,
deviance typically takes the place of rule breaking or lawlessness (Conley, 92). In this
episode, the survivors murder the walkers even though that is not they would usually do
if the world they lived in was normal. The textbook also supports the anomie felt in the
world of the walking dead. Durkheim says that the one of the biggest forces that leads to
people committing suicide is a sense of normlessness, or anomie (Conley,
Symptoms Of Stereotypes In The Black Swan
The Black Swan is a psychologically based thriller in which Nina, a dedicated
ballerina who belongs to a highly elite company in New York City, strives to one day
become prima ballerina. She covets the role of Swan Queen in her company s upcoming
rendition of Swan Lake . As she is shy and innocent in her demeanor, Nina is the epitome
of the character of the White Swan. On the other hand, the part of the Black Swan is
seductive, dark, and passionate. The artistic director of the company, Thomas, doubts
her ability to embody both roles but through a shocking display of boldness by Nina, he
decides she is capable of taking on both roles, and awards her the part. The rest of the
film is dedicated to showing her insatiable dedication to achieve... Show more content on

One of the most common symptoms associated with schizophrenia is delusions, or
false beliefs bases on incorrect inferences about reality. For example, Nina believes
that Lily, a ballerina who is new to the company, is trying to replace her and steal her
role. This is an inaccurate belief because Lily never displayed any motivation to steal
the role and was also nothing but kind and friendly to Nina. Nina also experiences
hallucinations, which are another symptom commonly associated with this disorder.
Hallucinations are false sensory perceptions that are experienced without an external
source. They can be auditory, visual, olfactory, or somatosensory. In Nina s case, she
experiences mostly visual and somatosensory hallucinations such as seeing herself pull
a feather out of her skin or her physical transformation into the Black Swan when she
perceives herself growing feathers and wings. While genetics plays a role in the
development of schizophrenia, we cannot come to the conclusion that anyone in Nina s
family was a schizophrenic or that it would be the sole cause of her developing the
disorder. Environmental stress is shown to also contribute to the development and Nina
is overcome with the pressure to achieve perfection and to uphold her company s
reputation which creates an atmosphere of extreme stress that she must cope with. There
are both pharmacological and psychosocial treatments for schizophrenia such as the
drugs haloperidol and chlorpromazine and the participation in social skills training;
neither of these treatments were referenced in this film. Schizophrenia is also commonly
confused with dissociative identity disorder (DID), also referred to as multiple
personality disorder. This condition is the occurrence of two or more distinct identities in
the same person. Many people that are diagnosed with DID, report being abused in their
Newfield University Education Summary
Overall, Newfield s perspective on the university s transformative possibilities is that the
university is the institution where blue and white collar, children of both workers and
managers, citizens of every racial background were being invited into a unified majority
(4). This majority would be economically and intellectually prepared for the New
Economy. Newfield believes that conservatives were opposed to this change in the status
quo and because of that started the culture wars. He continues that the culture wars have
coincided with the majority s economic decline by reducing the public importance and
economic claims of the American university and its graduates (6). Thus, the attacks on

The World of Musical Theatre
Music can be traced back to the beginning of humanity. It has been an essential and
crucial part of human society and its development. In the sense of Musical Theatre, it
is referred to the art of telling stories through or with songs. This art can be traced all
the way back to the Ancient Greeks (5th century BC), where music was used to
accompany their stage works. It has been said that Sophocles composed his own music
to accompany his own stage plays. In Greek theatre, a Greek Chorus was used in the
play to comment on the actions. They were a part of the plot of the show, but no
musical solos were present. The chorus was used also to be the conscious of the
audience or as a sounding board for the main characters.
Using the traditions of Greek Theatre, the Romans later replicated and expanded on the
idea. The expansion evolved into the use of orchestral accompaniment for songs and
dances in 3rd Century BC Plautus comedies. This later progressed in the Middle Ages
with traveling minstrels and traveling performers performing popular songs and slapstick
comedy. Religious Drama s became popular in the 12th and 13th centuries, combining
church chants as a liturgical teaching tools such as The Play of Herod and The Play of
Daniel.
By the time of Renaissance, the Religious Dramas have developed into an Italian
tradition called commedia dell arte where clowns improvise their ways through familiar
stories. From there, Opera Buffa derived from the
Using Parallel Processing For Large Scale Database Analysis
Modern Data Centers always interested in the new technology for various web search
analysis, web log, bigdata analysis, social networking, so in this tasks new technology
implemented using parallel processing for large scale database analysis, so the
MapReduce is one of new technology to get amounts of data, perform massive
computation, and extract critical knowledge out of big data for business intelligence,
proper analysis of large scale of datasets, it requires accurate input outputcapacity from
the large server systems to perform and analyze weblog data which is derived from two
steps called mapping and reducing. Between these two steps, MapReducerequires a on
important phase called shuffling phase which exchange the intermediate data. So at the
point of data shuffling, by physically changing the location(moving) segments of
intermediate data across disks, causes major I/O contention and generate the Input
/Output problem such as large power consumption, high heat generation which accounts
for a large portion of the operating cost of data centers in analyzing such big data. So in
this synopsis we introduce the new virtual shuffling approach to enable well organized
data movement and reduce I/O problem for MapReduce shuffling, thereby reducing
power consumption and conserving energy. Virtual shuffling is achieved through a
combination of three techniques including a three level segment table, near demand
merging, and dynamic and balanced merging subtrees. Our

Individuals have gone to aquariums as a form of entertainment for decades and they have become a part of American culture. On average, one aquarium has opened each year for the past 12 years, a 50 percent increase over the 25 accredited aquariums that existed prior to 1990 (Savoye). Aquariums such as SeaWorld, which welcomes millions of people each year, allows families to experience the joy of seeing creatures that they normally would not have the chance to see. However, in aquariums and theme parks like SeaWorld, these marine animals are forced to live in small, unnatural spaces that cause them distress. (See Figure 1). As a result, their personalities and temperaments will change and it can have deadly consequences. When discussing Tilikum, John Jett, a scientist and former SeaWorld trainer says, There s no place to swim and not much to do. His teeth cause infections. He s sunburned. He s bullied. Given his boring life and ill health, it comes as no surprise that he killed (Tocco). While SeaWorld workers may claim that the whales that are put into captivity are not subjected to harm and are given plenty of room to roam, there is no justification behind forcing these animals to live in solitude. For such intelligent and social creatures, living this way goes against their very nature. Additionally, aquariums have adopted many disturbing practices that include tearing calves away from their mothers and transferring them to different theme parks. In the wild, orcas tend to live in pods, which can have up to 30 whales, that will travel together for their entire lives. The experience of having it s calf taken away is extremely traumatic for both the mother and the calf, given that in the wild the calf rarely leaves its mother s side. A former diver named Crowe told Cowperthwaite that he kidnapped baby whales for shipment to

Learning through reflection on the implementation of innovative pedagogies, especially those that are themselves grounded in reflection on experience (Clayton). To develop and grow as a leader it is important that reflection occurs. Personally, I have reflected on both the positive and negative significant events in my life. I take the time out of my schedule every three days to reflection my actions that I think are significant to me or anyone that I have come in contact with. • 7. Similarities Between Gilgamesh And Genesis There is a lot of evidence to prove and explain how the Israelite people might have known or heard some Babylonian myths. This evidence is shown through similarities in the Genesis creation myths and many Babylonian myths. As an example, there are many similarities shown throughout the Gilgamesh story that relates to the Noah story in Genesis. Some similarities include the heroes character, the order to build a boat, the number of animals, the means of the flood, and the action of sacrificing after the flood. These are only a few of the many similarities interpreted in these stories. The first similarity is that the character of the heroes in both the Gilgamesh story as well as the Genesis/Noah story. In both stories, the heroes character is righteous. For example, in Noah s Arc, it states that a righteous man (Genesis 6:9) was directed to build an ark to save a limited and select group of people and all species of animals. Noah received these orders directly from God. On the other hand, Utnapishtim received his order from a dream. The next similarity is the order to build a boat. In the Gilgamesh, Utnapishtim is clearly instructed to build a boat and leave all wealth behind. O man of Shuruppak, son of Ubartutu: Tear down the house and build a boat! Abandon wealth and seek living beings! (Gilgamesh 23 25). In comparison at the beginning of the Noah flood story, Noah is also instructed to build a boat or an arc for the flood. Essentially, a linear equation is one that will not mix up the real and imaginary parts of the voltages and currents. From a practical standpoint, a linear circuit is one that includes only passive components (resistors, capacitors, and inductors) plus voltage and/or current sources. No diodes, transistors, vacuum tubes, etc. are allowed. It is perhaps worth mentioning here that the same formalism, with the same advantages of using complex numbers, works in mechanics when dealing with small, harmonic oscillations of mechanical systems. voe^(j(wt)) or Io e^(j(wt)) where the phase can be taken to be zero if there is only one source. A girl named Lupe is not good at sports but she finds something athletic that she could be good at. She found marbles. She practiced until she got so good, she won the marbles championship. For this matter, I think a possible theme in this story is to never give, just like Lupe did. A couple reasons why, are because she practices, perseveres, and always gives 100% effort. To begin, one reason why a possible theme could be to never give up is Lupe practices. At the beginning of the story Lupe did fingertip pushups. She did 20 of them in sets of five, so every so often she could take a break. This seems like a lot to ask from someone who isn t that strong. She also squeezed a eraser for a long time. Certain characters have physically limited blindness such as the prophet Teiresias, but have the ability to see the truth. While other characters such as Oedipus, have perfect vision, but they re blind to the truth. In the play, sight is used to represent knowledge. An example would be how prophets or seers, can see the truth behind what is really going on. Throughout the play, Oedipusis blind to everything that alludes to his downfall despite being pretty obvious. The underlying question in the play is if one can alter his fate. Sophocles uses sight and blindness to answer this question by showing that being blind or having sight can alter one s fate. When Oedipus is blind from the truth, he is safe from his destiny. He is safe because if he doesn t know anything about the prophecy, it won t come true in a way. He believed his biological parents to be the King and Queen of Corinth. So when he killed King Laius, it would have been just a random person to him and not his real father. But once he learns of the prophecy, this is when the actual prophecy unfolds. He flees Corinth because of what the oracle said to him. Thus setting in motion the events of the play. If Oedipus was never made aware of the truth, then he could have remained blissfully ignorant and may have not fulfilled the prophecy. If Oedipus, on the other hand was made

Nina also experiences hallucinations, which are another symptom commonly associated with this disorder. Hallucinations are false sensory perceptions that are experienced without an external source. They can be auditory, visual, olfactory, or somatosensory. In Nina s case, she experiences mostly visual and somatosensory hallucinations such as seeing herself pull a feather out of her skin or her physical transformation into the Black Swan when she perceives herself growing feathers and wings. While genetics plays a role in the development of schizophrenia, we cannot come to the conclusion that anyone in Nina s family was a schizophrenic or that it would be the sole cause of her developing the disorder. Environmental stress is shown to also contribute to the development and Nina is overcome with the pressure to achieve perfection and to uphold her company s reputation which creates an atmosphere of extreme stress that she must cope with. There are both pharmacological and psychosocial treatments for schizophrenia such as the drugs haloperidol and chlorpromazine and the participation in social skills training; neither of these treatments were referenced in this film. This majority would be economically and intellectually prepared for the New Economy. Newfield believes that conservatives were opposed to this change in the status quo and because of that started the culture wars. He continues that the culture wars have coincided with the majority s economic decline by reducing the public importance and economic claims of the American university and its graduates (6). Thus, the attacks on the public research university university
  • 23. The World of Musical Theatre Music can be traced back to the beginning of humanity. It has been an essential and crucial part of human society and its development. In the sense of Musical Theatre, it is referred to the art of telling stories through or with songs. This art can be traced all the way back to the Ancient Greeks (5th century BC), where music was used to accompany their stage works. It has been said that Sophocles composed his own music to accompany his own stage plays. In Greek theatre, a Greek Chorus was used in the play to comment on the actions. They were a part of the plot of the show, but no musical solos were present. The chorus was used also to be the conscious of the audience or as a sounding board for the main characters. Using the traditions of Greek Theatre, the Romans later replicated and expanded on the idea. The expansion evolved into the use of orchestral accompaniment for songs and dances in 3rd Century BC Plautus comedies. This later progressed in the Middle Ages with traveling minstrels and traveling performers performing popular songs and slapstick comedy. Religious Drama s became popular in the 12th and 13th centuries, combining church chants as a liturgical teaching tools such as The Play of Herod and The Play of Daniel. By the time of Renaissance, the Religious Dramas have developed into an Italian tradition called commedia dell arte where clowns improvise their ways through familiar stories. From there, Opera Buffa derived from the

Using Parallel Processing For Large Scale Database Analysis Modern Data Centers always interested in the new technology for various web search analysis, web log, bigdata analysis, social networking, so in this tasks new technology implemented using parallel processing for large scale database analysis, so the MapReduce is one of new technology to get amounts of data, perform massive computation, and extract critical knowledge out of big data for business intelligence, proper analysis of large scale of datasets, it requires accurate input outputcapacity from the large server systems to perform and analyze weblog data which is derived from two steps called mapping and reducing. Between these two steps, MapReducerequires a on important phase called shuffling phase which exchange the intermediate data. So at the point of data shuffling, by physically changing the location(moving) segments of intermediate data across disks, causes major I/O contention and generate the Input /Output problem such as large power consumption, high heat generation which accounts for a large portion of the operating cost of data centers in analyzing such big data. So in this synopsis we introduce the new virtual shuffling approach to enable well organized data movement and reduce I/O problem for MapReduce shuffling, thereby reducing power consumption and conserving energy. Virtual shuffling is achieved through a combination of three techniques including a three level segment table, near demand merging, and dynamic and balanced merging subtrees. Our
