Vijay Kumar presents information on a road safety awareness campaign called "One Life." He notes that road safety is important because India has a large young population and is the number one country for road accidents. Each year over 1.38 lakh people are killed in road crashes in India, which accounts for 13% of total road fatalities worldwide. Road accidents cost India approximately 3.8 lakh crore rupees annually, equivalent to the GDP of Kenya.
