- #11 Let me show you what success looks like: These are per capita road traffic death rates in high-income countries. You can see that around 1970 High Income Countries managed to reverse their rising trend in traffic deaths. This change in trend is what we hope to see in a decade of action. How did high-income countries achieve this success? Analysis from the US consistently shows that about 50% of the improvements in road safety are due to vehicle safety technologies that were increasingly introduced since the 1960s!
