organisational culture of many leading companies today, competitive intelligence has come some way.
Its benefits were long understood in Germany as far back as the eighteenth century. By scouting the

At the beginning of this class, I had very little confidence in my ability to convey my ideas through
writing. Now that I have reached the end of this course, I have learned many techniques and skills that
have helped me with my various writing projects throughout the semester as well as my final research

My first real try at making academic arguments was rather effective, my Pinocchio archival research
project garnered much positive feedback and even went on to compete in the Save Our Stories digital
archives competition. I successfully used my primary research on the illustration and on Disney s
Pinocchio movie to support all the arguments that I made in the essay. On the other hand, my next
attempt at making a strong academic argument, which was about gender role portrayal in Disney, was
a total flop. I made a reasonable argument, but I had neglected to provide substantial supporting
evidence to back up my claim. Thankfully, the feedback that I received on that post allowed me to see
what I had done incorrectly, and afterward I went back through the article and found the information
that would have supported my argument. Another one of my attempts at making an argument was in
the New Orleans Tumblr post. Facing an issue similar to the gender roles post, I could summarize the
experiences of the trip very well; however, this time my issue was that I did not fully develop my
argument. The supporting information that I needed was present, but I only partially followed through

The Behavioral Perspective Of Human Development
Human development is a process that occurs throughout the lifespan, and lifespan development
theories offer frameworks for which to understand human growth. Different approaches focus on
specific aspects of human life to determine which has the most significant influence on development.
However, one theory usually does not account for all variables of human growth so more than one
perspective may be used to analyze development. Two such perspectives, the behavioral and the
contextual, explain development in different ways. The behavioral perspective focuses on observable
behavior, while the contextual perspective focuses on interrelated systems that influence development.
When applied to the case study in the index, the differences in the behavioral and contextual theories
become evident.
The Behavioral Perspective
The behavioral perspective of development suggests that human development can be understood by
observing how people behave in response to environmental stimuli. This theory denies distinct
universal stages in development and insists that environmental factors influence how a person will
change and adapt in their society. From this perspective, people will have positive developmental
experiences if they grow up in a nurturing environment. B.F. Skinner introduced the operant
conditioning theory which asserts that children develop in response to reinforcement or punishment
