According to my multiple intelligence learning profile, I am an equally strong kinesthetic,
intrapersonal, and existential learner. This suggests I learn by doing, learn best working with others,
and have a big picture orientation. I seek what works in practice rather than theory. In my view, the
fact that I received the same score in all three areas is indicative of the similarity between these
different types of intelligences. For example, existential learners like to synthesize ideas based on their
learning; develop a strong identity with their neighborhood and town; and express a sense of
belonging to a global community (Intelligence profile: Existential, 2012). Tying into my sense of
knowing thyself in relationship to others, I also have a strong intrapersonal intelligence. This means I

monks,) would have to laboriously copy the text by hand. This was a very time consuming and costly
manner, as the monks would commonly write on vellum (treated skins.)
The printing press made copying text incredibly faster and much cheaper. Gutenberg s printing press
meant more access to information, more dissent, more informed discussion and more widespread

Rene Descartes was a French philosopher born in 1596. He is considered by many the father of
modern philosophy and continues to have tremendous influence in the philosophical world to this day.
The book, Meditations of First Philosophy, consist of six meditations and describes one meditation per
day for six days. In meditation two, he claims that we have better knowledge of our own minds than of
the physical world. This proclamation has sparked debates between countless philosophers for
centuries.
In meditation two, Descartes wax argument is an observation and an essential part of how he develops
his theory of the mind and body being separate from each other. It begins by Descartes taking a piece
