Why Is Thurgood Marshall Significant
What was the short term significance of Thurgood Marshall in 1947 1967?
Thurgood Marshall was significant as he was the first African American to be appointed a position in
the U.S Supreme Court, in 1967. His significance to civil rights is evident between 1947 and 1967, in
one contemporary newspaper he was even referred to as Mr Civil Rights . In 1947 1961 Thurgood
worked as the NAACP s lawyer, where he argued his most famous cases Brown v Topeka (1954) and
Browder v Gayle (1956). Furthermore, the appointments by both, President John F. Kennedy and
President Johnson, are significant in themselves because he was the first African American to be
appointed to the Supreme Court. Despite his influence on the civil rights movement, Thurgood took a
lot of criticism which effected his attitudes towards other people involved with the civil rights
movement and, in general.
Thurgood Marshall s position in the Supreme Court as the NAACP s lawyer is extremely significant.
The segregation within school systems following the separate but equal legislation passed by the
court, Plessy v Ferguson case, was something he continuously challenged. In 1934 he first represented
the NAACP as their lawyer in the court case of Murray v Pearson, following this he was successful in
winning 29 of 32 civil rights cases against the Supreme Court in 1950s. The most famous cases he
argued were Browder v Gayle (1956) and Brown v Board of Education (1954), in these cases he was
able to adjust and change

Analysis And Belief Of The Crocodile
Analysis and Belief
The crocodile has a significant role in Papua New Guinea culture. The people over there believe that
reptiles are human s ancestors. The reason they are cutting their skin and pretending to be a crocodile
is because they also believe by withstanding the pain, they will be strong enough to face the
difficulties and problems in the future. Also the skin cutting act is for separating young men from the
world of womenfolk, and to fill them with the power of crocodile.
Another reason that they want to cut their skin is because without the skin cutting rituals, they (young
men) are not a full member of their father s clan. It is an interesting culture which very different to
modern society s because we were born to be our family s clan, we don t have to do anything to prove
because we have already had our birth certificate. Since it is too easy to be one of our family s clan,
there s a certain amount of the people doesn t appreciate of their identity and always against their
family unlike the people in Chambri Tribe. They value it, they have to withstand the skin cutting pain
and the chances of death especially they are still in a third world country. They cherish their identity
and their family members. Rituals
The skin cutting rituals takes place every four to five years. Boys as early as 12 until 35 can have the
cutting rituals to prove themselves. Since the rituals are very expensive and it is not such a thing that it
is affordable by one family and they

Theme Of Seize The Day By Saul Bellow
Bellow is considered as one of the most celebrated authors of the 20th century and American literature
s most resourceful writer for all times. He has come to his prominence slowly through a careful
building up of a body of work, a composition displaying greater insight, range of power, with each
new novel. Since his appearance on the literary scene in the midforties, Saul Bellow, recipient of the
1976 Nobel Prize for literature, has left his mark on the international literary world. He is one the few
contemporary authors who has been able to sustain the interest and dominate the field of academic and
scholarly inquiry for over four decades. His fiction typically addresses the meaning of human
existence in an increasingly aloof and world of mechanism. Writing in a humorous, subjective style,
Bellow often depicts introspective individuals sorting out a conflict between the old world and the
new world values while coping with personal anxieties and objectives. Saul bellow has been a most
persistent chronicler of America s restless search for Alienation or sense of partition is one of the
leading themes in Bellow s novel Seize the Day. Saul Bellow is primarily concerned with the well

The novelist had pictured the theme of alienation throughout the story within the character of this
protagonist. Tommy is fighting a lonely battle against the encroaching selfishness, heartlessness, and
cynicism of the modern materialized world. He rejects the loveless world and the existence of the
voracious in human nature. Hence Saul Bellow exposes one of the major theme: the destruction of
human by his humane ideals. Tommy s character is a typical example for that: though he is alienated

Work Force Analysis Paper
The key issues that should be considered for this company include making sure the organization is
right sized. With the right amount of employees the organization can focus on retention reducing a
high turnover rate, reducing company costs and retaining knowledge. When positons are available the
correct recruitment strategy must be utilized; that way the company can choose from the most talented
candidate pool. Both retention and recruitment can hinge on benefit packages and perks. These do not
always have to be in the form vacation hours or high priced salaries, as the demographics of the work

Making employees feel valued by giving them an opportunity to increase their knowledge and become
an expert in their field shows them that you care that they are on your team and you are willing to
invest money into them so you can retain them. Some training programs would be mandatory while
other training programs would be offered on a voluntary basis. Offering voluntary training programs
allows the employees to show their initiative by taking as many or as few of the training classes
available. Training classes would include but not be limited to: technology updates, leadership
courses, supervisory courses, career development courses, technical writing courses, stress
management courses, work life balance courses, retirement courses, federal and state law leave

The Importance Of Accountability In The Military
Amongst many principles with which men and women of the military must abide by, the concept of
maintaining accountability of your personnel is possibly the most important concept not just within
the military itself, but around the world within any occupation. Keeping proper accountability of your
personnel covers yourself, as well as giving those above you the luxury of being at ease knowing that
their persons are all present and accounted for. Accountability manifests itself both in real life and in
fiction. Real life accountability ranges from keeping tabs of where a student is in school and extends
to keeping track of emergency personnel in life or death situations. Teachers knowing where a student
is, such as them being sick and not coming to school that day or keeping tabs on them while on a field
trip keeps them at ease knowing their students are all accounted for and nobody was left alone when
they need a chaperone. In a life or death situation, such as recovery and life saving operations after a
hurricane or earthquake, the police, fire department, even the coast guard need to maintain
accountability of their officers and other personnel as well as the people they have recovered from the
wreckage. Although these real world examples are merely just examples of what accountability is
needed for, however people need to know exactly why it is needed in business and in the field.
Possibly the most important result of maintaining accountability of yourself, your

The Importance Of Rehabilitation Needs In Oncology
Occupational therapy has the ability to potentially limit and reverse cancer related disabilities amongst
oncology patients, yet it remains extraordinarily underused within adult oncology (Pergolotti et al.,
2015). More knowledge is needed regarding functional independence in daily activities of living,
coping with stress, difficulties with employment, and the need for future care by healthcare
professionals after leaving the hospital (Hwang, 2015).
It is known that physical impairments resulting from cancer and the cancer treatment are best
addressed by physical therapists and occupational therapists (Sleight Duker, 2016). With this being
said, there is a need for more data on rehabilitation needs among oncology patients. It is ... Show more

Therefore, it is necessary for rehabilitative services to be in place to allow for optimal occupational
performance after treatment (Movsas et. al., 2003). We suggest that although there have been studies
that recognize the effectiveness of OT interventions with oncology patients, more research is needed
to validate the importance of including OT practitioners within oncology treatment.
Implications for Occupational Therapy Practice
Occupational therapy practitioners have the knowledge and skills for producing the best quality of life
for cancer patients by focusing on their occupational performance issues. Evaluation of a client should
begin with an occupational profile that highlights their strengths and weaknesses and managing
approaches in various occupations within the context of the client s lifestyle. A holistic treatment can
contain a wide range of approaches that can be integrated into the client s plan to improve occupation
based problems. The strategies include energy conservation, coping, and relaxation techniques for
managing pain, fatigue, and difficulty sleeping. Exercise and leisure programs are used to improve
strength and mobility. Cognitive strategies, activity and work adaptation, and assistive technology are
used to optimize performance in activities of daily living (ADL), education, and employment. Support
and volunteer groups can be introduced to prevent social

Essay on Reducing the National Deficit
Reducing the National Deficit
Many United States citizens are unaware of the country s current financial state. Many assume that
one of the world s wealthiest countries could never be in debt. This is untrue however, and, in fact, the
country with the greatest income per capita is in major debt. This study will examine possible
solutions to reducing the United States national budget deficit.
Understanding the National Deficit
The amount of money that the United States government owes as of October 17, 2004 at 03:48:52 pm
GMT was $7,435,016,998.21. The debt has increased by an average of $1.7 billion per day since

roughly around ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The debt skyrocketed to an astounding $279 billion by the year 1946.
When World War II ended in 1949, the debt grew at a slow and steady pace for the next 20 years.
When the Vietnam War began in the 1960 s the debt accelerated sharply. Thanks to the growth of
television and news media, growth of the deficit was widely publicized. For the first time, the
American people were given access to what was going on with the nation s debt. When the Gulf War
began the early 1990 s, the national debt reached a trillion dollars for the first time. By the end of the
Gulf War, the government decided to make amendments to fix the continuing problem with the deficit.
Despite those promises to reduce spending, the debt is currently at it highest point ever.
Who is the Nation Indebted to?
The United States borrows money from individuals that have bought Treasury Bills, Notes, Bonds,
and United States Savings Bonds. The U.S. government also borrows money by issuing Treasury
securities. These securities finance expenditures that exceed its receipts, and are legal under the
authority of the Second Liberty Bond Act. The government s primary source of income is through
taxes paid by its citizens. Supposedly, money is spent on programs that government officials consider
necessary to ensure the best quality of life for all (or at least the majority) of the nation s citizens. The
combination of these amounts is what makes up the national

Robin Hood Case Study
What problems does Robin Hood have? What issues need to be addressed? Robin Hood is facing
numerous problems and issues, but I think the most pressing problem is the fact that the band of
Merrymen has far outgrown the available resources in Sherwood Forest. Robin Hood s faith in
succeeding by strength in numbers is quickly becoming a contributor to their downfall. Income is low
at this point as well, so purchasing supplies, whether near or far, will soon become impossible. If the
men aren t fed, the men can t function. Not only is the lack of available resources a problem, but the
group itself is unorganized and is lacking sufficient leadership. The issue of the group s decline in
vigilance and discipline could lead to dire consequences, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Merrymen are well known even in far reaching areas of England.
The men have a strong willingness to serve.
Weaknesses:
Vigilance is quickly declining.
Their resources are declining as well with no plan to replace or renew them.
There is no real organization or leadership within the band of men.
Revenues are declining and there is no plan in place for alternative sources of income.
There is a lack of utilization of the men s skills other than archery.
There is also a significant lack of skill development in other areas.
The newer recruits to the campaign are strangers and could potentially be the Sheriff s spies.
Opportunities:
Prince John and the Sheriff are not well liked by the people. Their removal is less likely to be
contested by many.
The barons are beginning to dispute Prince John s claim to the throne.
Some barons are already conspiring to return King Richard from imprisonment in Austria. If
successfully executed, the Sheriff would no longer have support from Prince John as he would no
longer be in power.
Robin Hood s recruits from more remote areas of England may have contacts and resources previously
unavailable to the band.
Threats:
The Sheriff is becoming more organized and amassing more money.
Wealthy travelers are avoiding the forest due to the high cost of their goods being confiscated.
Robin s competitor (the Sheriff) has strong political connections.

Apple s Case Against Steve Jobs
Apple was founded by three men; Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ron Wayne in 1976. The company
received an investment from Mark Markkula in 1977, introducing Apple Computer Inc. and the
release of the Apple II. The Apple III and Apple IIe were then released. The Apple III was a high end
machine that was highly priced, whereas the Apple IIe was a computer used in various households. In
1980, Apple became a public company which increased their share price significantly, making most of
Apple s staff members millionaires. By 1983, Apple became a Fortune 500 company as a result of
their rapid growth (Alcom, 2012). In the early 1980 s, Apple encountered heavy competition from
IBM which sold millions of PCs. Competition continued throughout the years with Microsoft
releasing software such as Word and BASIC. The original Macintosh was released in 1984, known as
the computer for the rest of us , while the Apple IIe simultaneously received awards for excellence
(Alcom, 2012). Apple filed a lawsuit against Steve Jobs after he resigned due to political issues within
the company. Jobs claimed he would start a new company so Apple filed a lawsuit to stop him from
using sensitive information to be in competition with Apple. Nevertheless, Jobs started the NeXT Inc.
company which made it the first computer on the market that was twice as powerful as Apple s
products and the price was $1000 less. The company performed well over the years with Job

Thomas Paine And Benjamin Franklin s Letter To Thomas Paine
In the pre Revolutionary period, there were many Enlightenment thinkers who were influenced by
revolutionary ideals. Two such revolutionaries were Thomas Paine and Benjamin Franklin. While
Thomas Paine was a stubborn and avid believer in new ideals and philosophies, Benjamin Franklin
was an older, more experienced politician who sought to appease most of the public. In Letter to
Thomas Paine , Benjamin Franklin tries to persuade Thomas Paine to not publish a religious
manuscript by building credibility through staying neutral, maintaining that credibility by praising
Paine and belittling others, and by invoking an emotional appeal of acceptance and trust as a friend. At
first, Benjamin Franklin establishes neutrality to build credibility so that Thomas Paine will believe
him. An instance of this is when Franklin states, I will not enter into any discussion of your principles,
though you may desire it (281). By excluding discussion of principles, Franklin does not criticize or
praise what Paine believes, thus staying neutral. This neutrality makes it so that Thomas Paine
understands that no third party and no other motives are involved in the letter. As with any other case
of direct, personal feedback with no other motives involved, Paine can trust Franklin more. Also,
when he moves on to his main purpose, Franklin uses as skillful transition of At present I shall only
give you my opinion (281). In this usage of transition, Franklin uses the word only to present

Paternalism In Bound For Wedlock
In her book Bound for Wedlock, Tera Hunter emphasizes that slaves were flogged by the rhetoric of
paternalism. Such paternalistic assault on the slaves not only shifted the blame for their failures away
from the beneficiaries of their degradation, but it also destabilized a slave s self expression, self
thought, and self identity (60). As is illustrated in Ida Adkins interview, burdened with physical and
mental manipulations, a slave s psyche, acting as a motive force, inadvertently responded and inclined
itself toward the manipulative source, thereby increasing the slave s dependence on the master. Ida
Adkins s seemingly favorability of her master over her father invigorates the fact that her psyche was
mediating her thoughts, emotions, and responses to the manipulative social construct in such a way as
to provide even more power to the oppressor. Adkins describes her father, ... Show more content on

She merely characterizes her father according to his work in the plantation and not to any emotional
connection she might have had with him. In great contrast, Adkins emphatically points out that she
liked her master, Master Frank, whom the slave children, including Adkins, referred to as Big Pappy ,
for he would often give the children candy from his trips to Raleigh (13). This emotional dichotomy in
Adkins relationship between the two men juxtaposes the assertions Heather Andrea Williams makes in
her work Help Me to Find My People. Williams emphasizes that enslaved and freed people...placed
emotional value in their nuclear families and longed and hoped to maintain those familial ties (10).

Cartridge Shooting Research Paper
Cartridge casings can be found a various types of crime scenes. These cartridge casings are then
examined to answer questions such as, what was the caliber of the firearm (i.e. 9mm, .308
Winchester), composition of the ammunition (i.e. brass, steel), shape (i.e. rimless, rimmed), the
position of the shooter, etc. Individual characteristics on cartridge casings that are useful in forensic
investigations include firing pin impressions, breech face marks, ejector marks, and extractor marks.
The various portions of the weapon that come into contact with the casings are firing pin, breech, the
ejector, the extractor, and the chamber. These parts leave their imprints on the fired casings because of
the great pressure on the cartridge when it s fired. The pressure is transmitted in ... Show more content

The cartridge is only fired if the firing pin strikes with a certain amount of force. So, it has to come
into contact with the cartridge to leave its impressions on the percussion cap. The firing pin strikes the
center ring of the cartridge and leaves a distinctive impression that is exclusive to the firing pin of that
particular gun. The clearness of the markings of the firing pin will depend on the pressure, which is
developed by the cartridge. Another identification method is using breech marks. When the
ammunition is fired, the explosion causes the bullet to get forced down the barrel and the cartridge
casing is forced back against the breech. The impressions that this leaves on the casing are unique to
the individual gun s breech. Examples of breech markings include vertical, sandblasted, mottled, rime
dents, etc. Also, when the cartridge casing is ejected from the chamber of the gun, it leaves marks on
the casing that are unique to those parts on the specific firearm. This includes markings that are

indulgence for the finer luxuries. At the essence, it is one of the few haute couture brands which is an
added sense of elegance and importance. The brand focuses on those consumers who look toward the
augmented value of the product and not the product itself. The representation of ES as a brand for the

money for a product or service is often based on more than just the product or service itself.
Consumers care deeply about the overall experience of the buying process: They respond to the
marketing message, the advertising, the sales approach, the website, the interaction with company
personnel, and more. When all these elements come together to form a seamless experience, the
customer is left with a feeling of satisfaction that ultimately builds loyalty (Joseph, 2010). The actual

Compare And Contrast Persia And China
Comparison of Government in Persia and China After the rise and fall of the earliest civilizations,
some of the very first ancient empires started to emerge over many centuries before the birth of Christ.
Although there are many things that characterize these empires uniquely from each other, there are
still resemblances between them. Despite the fact that both Persia and China were great empires in
two different regions, their governing methods coincide in the systems of organization and basic
infrastructures; but they differed greatly in the beliefs of both the government and people. As both
empires had considerable amounts of land that they ruled over, the method of organizing their lands
held great importance to effectively ruling each empire. First off in Persia, we see King Darius s
acumen in organization through the division of his land into 20 provinces. King Darius assigns a
governor called a satrap, a military commander, and a tax collector to each province to allow self
governing as long as each province paid their taxes and tributes and remained loyal to the king.

Relationship Between Ph And Temperature
What s the Relationship Between pH and Temperature?
The most important question to ask is, of course, does changing the temperature of a solution affect its
pH. Knowing this is required in order to go forward with attempting to apply a relationship between
the two to Acid Deposition. The simple answer is that pH is affected by the Temperature of the
solution, with some minor complexities
The main explanation of this relationship is Le Chatelier s Principle (Fondriest Environmental
201410), which explains how changes in concentrations, pressure, and temperature alter the
equilibrium of a reaction. Increasing the temperature favors the endothermic reaction, meaning if the
forward reaction is exothermic, then the new equilibrium has more reactant than the old one, and vice
versa in endothermic forward reactions. The opposite occurs when decreasing the temperature and the
exothermic reaction is favored. The reaction of water to form Hydrogen and Hydroxide ions is an
endothermic reaction, meaning absorption of energy in the reaction. This means that increasing the
temperature would lead to more product in equilibrium, and less product when the temperature
decreases.
The idea is that the number of Hydrogen ions is changing as a result of the new equilibrium. This new
equilibrium will either have less product, meaning increased pH; or more product, meaning decreased
pH. The exception to this is Water and solutions with a pH of 7. This is because the amount of
Hydrogen and

Along with determination, innovation, and advantages is the recognition that Microsoft can do some
very stupid and self defeating things. But the company has been in the tablet space for decades. In
fact, you could argue that one reason Apple knew what would work is because Microsoft did so much
of the advance work to eliminate what wouldn t. It may finally have gotten many of the mistakes out

The company still faces big odds. Competing with itsown hardware partners could prove sticky, at
best. (Sherman, 2012) Sherlund

Pre Colonial Maori Society
Pre colonial Maori society was based on kinship groups; hapū, iwi and whanau. These groups are
connected to common ancestors and the land and these ties are still integral to maori communities
today. (Byers, 2002) As colonization took place, the Treaty of Waitangi; New Zealand s founding
document sought to guarantee the protection of Maori culture and customs but this didn t result in
recognition for the value based system of social control which Maori had in place. (Vieille, 2010)
Within the zeitgeist of post war society where rates of urbanisation soared, Maori people comprised
80% of the rural population and over the next forty years, the Maori rural population decreased as
many became a part of the urban population. (Durie, 2007) This demographic revolution occurred due
to the government s acquisition of land, resulting in great changes with many Maori being
disconnected from their traditional ways of life. (Durie, 2007) As these shifts continued, support
networks of the whanau or extended families which were once source of strength of maori
communities slowly disappeared and maori were become more often at the receiving end of hostile
behaviour. (Durie, 2007) Mana in this new urban society was measured differently and it was regarded
more in terms of material possessions in comparison with the society they were used to which
recognized mana as a sacred spiritual element within individual dignity. (Durie, 2007) The influence
of the marae on the individual and the

American Social Classes by Vance Packer
Throughout the Fifties, mass society started to rule in the United States. The 1950 s is one known as
the Eisenhower era. As the Supreme Allied Commander in Western Europe throughout World War II,
General Dwight D. Eisenhower headed the compels that battled a frantic battle against the Axis
powers. The Fifties picked up a notoriety for being a serene time. Residents moved to the suburbs and
TV began to take charge. The novel American Social Classes in the 1950 s by Vance Packer
investigates of class conduct of America in the 1950 s so students can explore.
One of the questions in this novel asked, How Packard did tells us about the 1950 s? I felt that it told
decade taking after World War II. It was described by luxuriousness in much of American culture,
offering ascent to elevated amounts of utilization and a blast in populace. Underneath this boundless
success, in any case, lay developing destitution for a few Americans, and the hole between the rich
and poor broadened.
I enjoyed this book because it was an excellent study. One of the strengths of American Social Classes
in 1950 s is that it s a time capsule within itself.
While reading this novel I realized that our society today is similar to the society in the 1950 s because
of the booming market. In the early 1940 s a period of plenitude started which by 1959 had arrived at
extents incredible by any past measures. Almost a large portion of trillion dollars value of products

Earle Wheeler was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1964 to 1970, during the Vietnam
War. From 1962 to 1964 he served as Chief of Staff of the United States Army and then in July 1964
the U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson appointed Wheeler as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
to succeed General Maxwell Taylor. Wheeler was the longest serving Chairman of the Joint Chiefs to
date, serving six years. Wheeler and Robert McNamara the Secretary of Defense often disagreed with
one another, they have great respect for each other. General Wheeler being the nation s top military
officer undoubtedly spanned the height of America s involvement in the Vietnam War. Wheeler
oversaw and supported the expanding U.S. military role in the Vietnam War in the mid 1960s,
consistently backing the field commander s requests for additional troops and operating authority. He
often urged U.S. President Johnson to strike harder at North Vietnam and to expand aerial bombing
campaigns. Wheeler was concerned with minimizing costs to U.S. ground troops. At the same time, he
preferred what he saw as a realistic assessment of the capabilities of the South Vietnamese military. ...

Essay On North Korea
North Korea and the United States: Two Realist informed and Underprepared Leaders Put into rough
and, for the moment, relatively simple terms, the key stakeholders in this situation reflect a
triangulation of the three major theories reflected above. The liberalism ideology has been the
dominant theory in America, as the postwar unified order expressed through the dominance of the
United Nations and its attempts to build a global peace. However, the contemporary global tide of
isolationist nationalism propelled Mr. Trump to power, and has also led to the development of many
nationalist parties in Europe, which have signaled a breaking away from the postwar, globalized peace
that reflects liberalist philosophy.
The nationalist approach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meanwhile, North Korea, long the subject of the domino theory, is now trying to maintain its cult of
personality even as its regime transitions to a third generation, one that is widely regarded to be the
weakest of the regime. Kim Jong Un remains something of an international enigma, with little known
about his life, but it is widely agreed that he has ...caused a perilous international crisis by testing a
nuclear weapon and threatening to use it against America and South Korea. He even distributed a
strange photograph of himself supposedly in the act of ordering merciless nuclear strikes against the
US mainland. In some ways, Kim Jong Un is a leader from the same mold as Trump, in that he is
trying to use strong words and theatrical approaches to maintain power; the divisions he foments
within the North Korean regime seem at least somewhat analogous to the divisions sown by hardline
nationalist conservatives in the United States. Although the international community hoped that Kim
Jong Un s rise to power would hearken toward a more modernized North Korea, he has instead
pursued a stridently nationalist regime that sees all other nations, and especially the United States, as a
direct threat to its existence.
Therefore, the central conflict involved in the current discourse between North Korea and the United
States boils down to two nations pursuing a realist approach to international relations. Bound up
within this paradoxically similar approach is the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Water Fluoridation
WATER FLUORIDATION: A high degree of reduction in caries/ tooth decay occur when fluoride
content is approximately IPPM (i.e. one part of fluoride to one million part of water), the prevalence
of oral fluorosis increase greatly when the concentration of fluoride is more than 1pm. Therefore, the
optimal concentration of community fluoridation is 1pm. The very first community water fluoridation
was in Grand Rapids in USA in 1945 and these produced a reduction in caries between 40 50% in
deciduous teeth while in permanent dentition is 50 60%. Apart from caries reduction, there is also a
slower rate of progression of caries lesion less involvement of oral pulp. Many more people have
caries free teeth or dentition. It was noticed that these four differences occur and its lifelong protection
for the water fluoridation is interrupted the caries protective effect is diminished. Drinking habits are
affected by temperature and failure to make adjustment for this many result in increasing incidence in
fluorosis in one climate. To achieve maximum protection for both primary and secondary teeth, the
consumption of fluoridated water is essential as it acts directly as topical agent as well as
systematically during teeth formation. Proximal and surfaces are more protected than pits fissures.
ADVANTAGE OF WATER FLUORIDATION (WHO 1984): The major advantage of water
fluoridation is that apart from school (students) the entire community benefits adequately irrespective

Sexual Assault And Sexual Assaults Essay
Sexual Assault is one of the most feared topics on campus because of different experiences that people
face on their life. These request is to create a student organization on campus name FASPVA which
stands for Fight Against Sexual Physical or Verbal Assault. College campuses have a high rated
numbers of sexual assault compared to non college campus because of major reasons like parties,
alcohol, fraternities and sororities. Whether it is rape, abused or sexual assault the gender who
encounter these issues are women and they are less likely to report it because of the person who did it
or they are afraid of the consequences of them reporting it or just wondered whether there would be
any justice at all or not. Almost all the sexual assault incidents are men acts but the women are blamed
for it because of the way they dress, act or their actions. Most women who are victims of sexual
assaults don t acknowledge these facts or don t do it on propose. In the reading Fraternities and Rape
on Campus by Yancey Martin and Robert A.Hummer, they argue that Fraternities use their parties and
their use of alcohol and drugs to influence women and to sexually assault them. It s hard to feel or
understand someone else s feelings unless you are the victim. In I want a Twenty Four Hour Truce
reading of Andrea Dworkins, she points out how freedom, male supremacy, the gender inequality and
feminism relates to theses sexual assault and rape on campus. In Beyond Yes or No: Consent as

The Pros And Cons Of Dental Implants
People are obsessed with having pearly white perfect teeth. This obsession for the perfect smile starts
young and last well into the senior years. Dental technology has improved over the last several years
dramatically. At one time, the only option was a dental plate or bridge to replace missing teeth. Now,
people with missing teeth find that dental implants are the perfect option because they look quite
natural. In addition, the dental implants are less intrusive and allow the individual to eat, talk, smile,
and laugh in a perfectly normal fashion. However, there are a few people that are not good candidates
for dental implants.
Age Restrictions
We ve all heard about a young ten that might have one or two teeth missing due to an accident. The
parent might decide that they are perfect candidates for a dental implant. This will help restore the
teens smile and confidence. Think again. Dental implants are not for the very young. It is agreed that
the best dental implant candidate is at least 17 or 18 years old. Why? Well, the youngster must reach
full development before they obtain the dental candidate. Talk to your dentist. They will determine if
the teen has reached full development. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Smalls Loans Act of Alabama went into effect in 1959 according to Banking.alabama.gov. The
law capped interest rates for all loans to prevent usury. The bill recognized that small loans for bad
credit including those under $749 couldn t be made profitably at single digit interest rates. Since it was
impractical for these loans to be banned by law, the state decided to make a regulatory exception for
these lenders. The state s lawmakers felt that borrowers would always need small loans, and banning
them would only make consumers turn to riskier finance schemes such as borrowing from
unscrupulous lenders and organized criminals. The state now permits these lenders to make reasonable
profits by charging higher interest rates to allow lenders who meet the conditions of this chapter a rate
of charge sufficiently high to permit a business profit. Small Loans Online Come Under Increasing

Before investors invest in a company, he or she must take various items into consideration. First, both
paid in capital and earned capital are looked at. These items tell investors how well the company is
doing and if the company is profitable. Next, investors look at earnings, basic and diluted. Once an
investor takes the above into consideration, he or she can then make the decision whether to invest in a
company or not. This paper will discuss why it is important to keep paid in capital separate from
earned capital. How earned capital and basic earnings are more important than paid in capital and
diluted earnings will also be discussed.

If a company has a retained earnings balance that exceeds the amount of paid in capital, an investor is
more likely to invest in that company. A company that has most of it money from investors could be a
red flag to investors. This shows a company may be less willing to save their company because a lot
of the owner s money is not invested. As an investor basic earnings per share are more important than
diluted earnings. Basic earnings consist only of common stock or includes no potential common stock
that upon conversion or exercise could dilute earnings per common share (Kieso, D. E., Weygandt,
J.J., amp; Warfied, T. D., 2007). In a sense, basic earnings do not reduce the earnings per share. Basic
earnings are part of a simple capital structure. Diluted earnings are part of a complex capital structure
and have the potential to be converted to common stock. Upon conversion or exercise by the holder,
the dilutive securities reduce (dilute) earnings per share (Kieso, D. E., Weygandt, J.J., amp; Warfied,
T. D., 2007). A complex structure is when a corporation has earnings that may be diluted. Basic
earnings are more important because an investor has less potential to lose money because basic
earnings cannot be reduced. An investor would most likely not want to invest in a complex
corporation because his or her earnings per share may be reduced, which means he or she may lose
money instead of gaining money. For financial

Similarities Between 70 And 70
The 70 s v. 2017 Life in the 70 s was very different than it is today. When you compare the 1970s to
2017 you can see the huge differences, and maybe some similarities. A lot has changed since the 70 s,
including the style, lifestyle, pop culture, and more. Since the 70 s a lot has changed, we have changed
in some ways and are similar in more ways than one. Here are the differences and similarities between
the 70 s and today, 2017. In the 70 s the first president of the decade was Richard Nixon, he was the
37th president and was in office 1969 1974. Eventually Gerald Ford held office after Nixon resigned
to avoid the eventual outcome of Watergate, which would have led to impeachment. Jimmy Carter
then served as president in years 1977 1981, with Walter Mondale as vice president. Today in 2017 we
have Donald Trump and Mike Pence, and people are begging for Trump to be impeached, similar to
Nixon. Though people do see impeachment in Trump s future, but some do not. Another difference
since the 70 s is the inflation of the dollar. A dollar in 1970 is worth $6.30 today, which is a 530.0%
increase. A dollar in 1979 is worth $3.37, which is a 237% increase. When comparing the 70 s to
today it is always best to compare the cost of living. In 1970 minimum wage was $1.60, today in New
Mexico minimum wage is now $9.25. A year of tuition at a public college was about $1,200 in the 70
s, according to the college board, the average student payed about $9,650 for tuition. In January of

Antisemitism During The Holocaust

the roots of Jew hatred lie in folklore and popular prejudices dating back to antiquity. (Caplan Web)
Jews have received stereotypes from breaking the human relation with God to being greedy and

used anti Semitic tactics. Christians in Europe during the medieval times forced Jews to live in a

This lack of presence of coliforms may indicate the absence of fecal matter in our water sample,
however; it does not indicate whether the water sample is safe for swimming in or drinking from. It is
possible that the non coliform bacteria, which was potentially incubated in lab, could pose a hazard to
the public if consumed or if the microbes enter the body. Additionally, our results may be a false
negative. It is possible that the time which passed between the collection and refrigeration time of the
microbe was significant enough to cause the coliforms to die or be out performed by additional
microbes living in the same sample. This could cause the numbers of the coliforms of interest to be so
low our test was unable to detect their presence. To prevent this possibility in the future a cooler could
be brought to the site of interest and the sample could be placed within the cooler immediately after

What Is Huxley s Vision In Brave New World
As defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary, a society includes people in general thought of as
living together in organized communities with shared laws, traditions, and values. In Amusing
Ourselves to Death, Neil Postman s assertion supports Aldous Huxley s vision about the future state of
society over that of George Orwell s. According to Orwell s 1984, 1984 was to be the year that Big
Brother would lead a dictatorial government, however this never occurred. As Postman states
throughout his essay, the present society is far more reflective of Huxley s view of the future depicted
in his novel Brave New World. Evidence supportive of Huxley s vision is seen through an abundance
of information available to most societies, a constant pursuit of pleasure and entertainment by
societies, and a society s media determining the way in which it defines truth. According to such
evidence of the contemporary society, Postman s assertion that Huxley s vision is more relevant today
than is Orwell s is true. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anyone can seemingly pull out their phone out of their pocket and begin browsing the Internet,
scavenging for information. Technology has made reading books irrelevant, and as Hurley feared,
there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one. In the
current day and age, any knowledge needed can easily be googled and does not need to be ferreted out
of books. Overall, the accessibility of information and the decreased dependency on books is parallel
to Huxley s vision, still proving to be

Effects Of Alcohol Advertising On Adolescents
Alcohol advertising is abundant globally. It is vital that adolescents are to be raised in a positive and
healthy setting. Particular consumer segments are considered to be more subtle towards the negative
impact of advertising (Morgan, Schuler and Stoltman, 1995). Due to the new social networking
technologies exist today and the various way of advertising, it is not surprising that adolescents are
exposed to alcohol advertising as direct promotions are easy and voluminous. A large number of
research have been performed regarding the effect of alcohol advertising and marketing on the
drinking of adolescents is highly debated globally (Smith and Foxcroft, 2009). Regardless of most
statistics indicating that alcohol advertising relates to the higher consumption of alcohol, early
commencement of drinking and the positive eagerness among adolescents, advertisements with youth
friendly attributes as well as new alcohol products are remitting by alcohol companies. This paper
analyses the research methodologies used in selected previous literatures to conduct their research
regarding the effect of alcohol advertising on adolescents. Accordingly, the limitations for the
methodologies used in the selected articles are discussed. Consequently, this paper further suggests a
more appropriate method in conducting future research in effects of advertising in adolescents. 2.0

Delta Airlines Essay
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report provides an examinaion of the current structure, performance, stragergy and management
of Delta Airlines, along with an industry analysis of the airline industry. The report uses current and
past financial and statistical data for the company along with other up to date material to determine
Delta s current market position and future potential.
The report finds that Delta Airlines has successfully emerged from its bankruptcy in 2005 to report
successful returns in both 2007 and 2008. With its 2008 acquisition of Northwest Airlines Delta
became the world s largest airline, further improving its position in the airline industry. Despite this
current positive position report also finds potential adversities ... Show more content on

The Northwest brand is gradually being phased out and being replaced by Delta s name and brand.
During the integration period, Delta and Northwest will continue to operate their own branded aircraft
until the integration process is complete. This has given delta a combined market share of
approximately 18% (Gayle, 2008)
Effects of Market Structure
In the United States there are generally two types of airlines: legacy carriers, which are defined as
airlines that specifically operated interstate routes prior to the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978, and
low cost airlines that compete solely on the basis of offering the lowest price per ticket within the
market in which they are operating
Market conduct
Market structure can be defined as patterns of behaviour by enterprises in an effort to adjust to the
markets in which they operate (buy or sell). Pricing strategies and collusive behaviour mergers are a
few dimensions of market conduct. It is the industry norm for a legacy carrier to offer service to most
popular destinations; Delta reducing routes to a similar schedule as the low cost airlines is not an
option in the multi billion dollar industry. In order to gain market share from low cost airlines, Delta
must create a value proposition that differentiates itself from its competitors. Many customers will pay
a premium if the level of service provided is higher than the low cost, no frills

Essay on Irony in Twelfth Night
Realizing that her disguise has produced unexpected results, Viola makes an allusion to the Gordon
knot in order to describe the perceived difficulty of extricating herself from the confusion. Viola, in
the act of reinterpreting herself as a man for the main purpose of protection, has found herself the
body from which other characters can derive their own interpretations.
As I am man,
My state is desperate for my master s love:
As I am woman (now alas the day!)
What thriftless sighs shall poor Olivia breathe?
O time, thou must untangle this, not I,
It is too hard a knot for me t untie. Viola. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Viola as Cesario is in an advantageous position. Stephen Greenblatt explains that because women had
less freedom of movement........a passage from male to female was coded ideologically as a descent
from superior to inferior (92). Viola s ascent , therefore, allows here to seek employment and
protection from Orsino, as well as allow her the freedom of movement which gives the scope for Viola
s interaction with the other characters. This freedom in movement is paralleled by a freedom to
portray any chosen identity and this is what Viola does. She mimics Orsino in her rendition of the
courtly lover when she meets Olivia, but because she is in fact a woman, and also, in a way, Olivia s
rival in love, Viola puts up a resistance in her courtship speeches. For Viola, there is no real desire to
please Olivia or to fear that she may be offended. She mixes her criticism of Olivia with her official
text when she tells Olivia:
Viola. I see what you are, you are too proud:
But if you were the devil, you are fair.
My lord and master loves you: O, such love
Could be but recompens d, though you were crown d
The non pareil of beauty!

The Impact Of Hawala On The Middle East, North Africa,...
Hawala
Hawala is a money transferring system that s used in places such as the Middle East, North Africa,
South Asia, and the idea is that a group of money brokers (Hawala dealers) rely solely on the honor
system to transfer large amounts of money between two places, or people, without raising any red
flags when it comes to law enforcement. As you can imagine, criminals have been able to take
advantage of this system to escape traditional banking methods. Hawala is a method of transferring
money without any actual movement of money to an intended destination. Hawala is subject to little
or no paper and electronic trail because the system is solely based on the trust and honor of another
human being and there is no traceable money from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To exchange banking transactions, each financial institution and bank must have a banking
relationship by either being a bank or affiliating itself with one in order to enjoy the much sought after
business features.
C.H.I.P.S
C.H.I.P.S stands for Clearing House Interbank Payment System. It s a real time multilevel payment
system. CHIPS handle more than 95% of US dollar foreign exchange payments and are subject to
paper and electronic trail due to the fact that the money can be traced. In one day, CHIPS settles 1.5
trillion dollars and currently CHIPS has a network of 50 Bank participants worldwide. Here is an
example of the working process for CHIPS: Client A purchases goods from client B and client B
requests for the payment. Therefore client A calls his bank and says I need to pay 1 million dollars to
client B , and he gives the bank 1 million dollars. Now, client A s bank has to transfer 1 million dollars
to client B s bank. How does client A s bank transfer the money to client B s bank, you may ask? Well
the answer is through CHIPS. CHIPS will open a CHIPS account for each participant (client A and
client B) and the CHIPS account consists of a primary account and supplemental account. The
primary account is a funding requirement for each participant and the supplemental account is the
account for the payment. In this case referring to the example, client A s Bank will transfer the money
into his CHIPS

  • 2. Why Is Thurgood Marshall Significant What was the short term significance of Thurgood Marshall in 1947 1967? Thurgood Marshall was significant as he was the first African American to be appointed a position in the U.S Supreme Court, in 1967. His significance to civil rights is evident between 1947 and 1967, in one contemporary newspaper he was even referred to as Mr Civil Rights . In 1947 1961 Thurgood worked as the NAACP s lawyer, where he argued his most famous cases Brown v Topeka (1954) and Browder v Gayle (1956). Furthermore, the appointments by both, President John F. Kennedy and President Johnson, are significant in themselves because he was the first African American to be appointed to the Supreme Court. Despite his influence on the civil rights movement, Thurgood took a lot of criticism which effected his attitudes towards other people involved with the civil rights movement and, in general. Thurgood Marshall s position in the Supreme Court as the NAACP s lawyer is extremely significant. The segregation within school systems following the separate but equal legislation passed by the court, Plessy v Ferguson case, was something he continuously challenged. In 1934 he first represented the NAACP as their lawyer in the court case of Murray v Pearson, following this he was successful in winning 29 of 32 civil rights cases against the Supreme Court in 1950s. The most famous cases he argued were Browder v Gayle (1956) and Brown v Board of Education (1954), in these cases he was able to adjust and change ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis And Belief Of The Crocodile Analysis and Belief The crocodile has a significant role in Papua New Guinea culture. The people over there believe that reptiles are human s ancestors. The reason they are cutting their skin and pretending to be a crocodile is because they also believe by withstanding the pain, they will be strong enough to face the difficulties and problems in the future. Also the skin cutting act is for separating young men from the world of womenfolk, and to fill them with the power of crocodile. Another reason that they want to cut their skin is because without the skin cutting rituals, they (young men) are not a full member of their father s clan. It is an interesting culture which very different to modern society s because we were born to be our family s clan, we don t have to do anything to prove because we have already had our birth certificate. Since it is too easy to be one of our family s clan, there s a certain amount of the people doesn t appreciate of their identity and always against their family unlike the people in Chambri Tribe. They value it, they have to withstand the skin cutting pain and the chances of death especially they are still in a third world country. They cherish their identity and their family members. • 4. Theme Of Seize The Day By Saul Bellow Bellow is considered as one of the most celebrated authors of the 20th century and American literature s most resourceful writer for all times. He has come to his prominence slowly through a careful building up of a body of work, a composition displaying greater insight, range of power, with each new novel. Since his appearance on the literary scene in the midforties, Saul Bellow, recipient of the 1976 Nobel Prize for literature, has left his mark on the international literary world. He is one the few contemporary authors who has been able to sustain the interest and dominate the field of academic and scholarly inquiry for over four decades. His fiction typically addresses the meaning of human existence in an increasingly aloof and world of mechanism. Writing in a humorous, subjective style, Bellow often depicts introspective individuals sorting out a conflict between the old world and the new world values while coping with personal anxieties and objectives. Saul bellow has been a most persistent chronicler of America s restless search for Alienation or sense of partition is one of the leading themes in Bellow s novel Seize the Day. With the right amount of employees the organization can focus on retention reducing a high turnover rate, reducing company costs and retaining knowledge. • 6. The Importance Of Accountability In The Military Amongst many principles with which men and women of the military must abide by, the concept of maintaining accountability of your personnel is possibly the most important concept not just within the military itself, but around the world within any occupation. Keeping proper accountability of your personnel covers yourself, as well as giving those above you the luxury of being at ease knowing that their persons are all present and accounted for. Accountability manifests itself both in real life and in fiction. Real life accountability ranges from keeping tabs of where a student is in school and extends to keeping track of emergency personnel in life or death situations. Teachers knowing where a student is, such as them being sick and not coming to school that day or keeping tabs on them while on a field trip keeps them at ease knowing their students are all accounted for and nobody was left alone when they need a chaperone. In a life or death situation, such as recovery and life saving operations after a hurricane or earthquake, the police, fire department, even the coast guard need to maintain accountability of their officers and other personnel as well as the people they have recovered from the wreckage. Although these real world examples are merely just examples of what accountability is needed for, however people need to know exactly why it is needed in business and in the field. When World War II ended in 1949, the debt grew at a slow and steady pace for the next 20 years. When the Vietnam War began in the 1960 s the debt accelerated sharply. Thanks to the growth of television and news media, growth of the deficit was widely publicized. For the first time, the American people were given access to what was going on with the nation s debt. When the Gulf War began the early 1990 s, the national debt reached a trillion dollars for the first time. • 13. Thomas Paine And Benjamin Franklin s Letter To Thomas Paine In the pre Revolutionary period, there were many Enlightenment thinkers who were influenced by revolutionary ideals. Two such revolutionaries were Thomas Paine and Benjamin Franklin. While Thomas Paine was a stubborn and avid believer in new ideals and philosophies, Benjamin Franklin was an older, more experienced politician who sought to appease most of the public. In Letter to Thomas Paine , Benjamin Franklin tries to persuade Thomas Paine to not publish a religious manuscript by building credibility through staying neutral, maintaining that credibility by praising Paine and belittling others, and by invoking an emotional appeal of acceptance and trust as a friend. At first, Benjamin Franklin establishes neutrality to build credibility so that Thomas Paine will believe him. An instance of this is when Franklin states, I will not enter into any discussion of your principles, though you may desire it (281). By excluding discussion of principles, Franklin does not criticize or praise what Paine believes, thus staying neutral. This neutrality makes it so that Thomas Paine understands that no third party and no other motives are involved in the letter. As with any other case of direct, personal feedback with no other motives involved, Paine can trust Franklin more. Also, when he moves on to his main purpose, Franklin uses as skillful transition of At present I shall only give you my opinion (281). Such paternalistic assault on the slaves not only shifted the blame for their failures away from the beneficiaries of their degradation, but it also destabilized a slave s self expression, self thought, and self identity (60). As is illustrated in Ida Adkins interview, burdened with physical and mental manipulations, a slave s psyche, acting as a motive force, inadvertently responded and inclined itself toward the manipulative source, thereby increasing the slave s dependence on the master. Ida Adkins s seemingly favorability of her master over her father invigorates the fact that her psyche was mediating her thoughts, emotions, and responses to the manipulative social construct in such a way as to provide even more power to the oppressor. The clearness of the markings of the firing pin will depend on the pressure, which is developed by the cartridge. Another identification method is using breech marks. When the ammunition is fired, the explosion causes the bullet to get forced down the barrel and the cartridge casing is forced back against the breech. Compare And Contrast Persia And China Comparison of Government in Persia and China After the rise and fall of the earliest civilizations, some of the very first ancient empires started to emerge over many centuries before the birth of Christ. Although there are many things that characterize these empires uniquely from each other, there are still resemblances between them. Despite the fact that both Persia and China were great empires in two different regions, their governing methods coincide in the systems of organization and basic infrastructures; but they differed greatly in the beliefs of both the government and people. As both empires had considerable amounts of land that they ruled over, the method of organizing their lands held great importance to effectively ruling each empire. First off in Persia, we see King Darius s acumen in organization through the division of his land into 20 provinces. • 21. Relationship Between Ph And Temperature What s the Relationship Between pH and Temperature? The most important question to ask is, of course, does changing the temperature of a solution affect its pH. Knowing this is required in order to go forward with attempting to apply a relationship between the two to Acid Deposition. The simple answer is that pH is affected by the Temperature of the solution, with some minor complexities The main explanation of this relationship is Le Chatelier s Principle (Fondriest Environmental 201410), which explains how changes in concentrations, pressure, and temperature alter the equilibrium of a reaction. Increasing the temperature favors the endothermic reaction, meaning if the forward reaction is exothermic, then the new equilibrium has more reactant than the old one, and vice versa in endothermic forward reactions. The opposite occurs when decreasing the temperature and the exothermic reaction is favored. The reaction of water to form Hydrogen and Hydroxide ions is an endothermic reaction, meaning absorption of energy in the reaction. This means that increasing the temperature would lead to more product in equilibrium, and less product when the temperature decreases. The idea is that the number of Hydrogen ions is changing as a result of the new equilibrium. This new equilibrium will either have less product, meaning increased pH; or more product, meaning decreased pH. The exception to this is Water and solutions with a pH of 7. This is because the amount of Hydrogen and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Microsoft sees that Apple is world class in what they do. Microsoft has little choice but to do what they must to make sure someone has world class hardware in the Windows camp. (Ray, 2012) Microsoft has not had a competitor for the iPad since Apple released the original version in 2010. Windows 8, which is to be available to consumers this fall, has been the company s hope to compete against Apple s dominance in the tablet market. Apple sold 3 million of its new iPad s in the first three days after its launch (Stern, 2012). Along with determination, innovation, and advantages is the recognition that Microsoft can do some very stupid and self defeating things. But the company has been in the tablet space for decades. In fact, you could argue that one reason Apple knew what would work is because Microsoft did so much of the advance work to eliminate what wouldn t. These groups are connected to common ancestors and the land and these ties are still integral to maori communities today. (Byers, 2002) As colonization took place, the Treaty of Waitangi; New Zealand s founding document sought to guarantee the protection of Maori culture and customs but this didn t result in recognition for the value based system of social control which Maori had in place. (Vieille, 2010) Within the zeitgeist of post war society where rates of urbanisation soared, Maori people comprised 80% of the rural population and over the next forty years, the Maori rural population decreased as many became a part of the urban population. (Durie, 2007) This demographic revolution occurred due to the government s acquisition of land, resulting in great changes with many Maori being disconnected from their traditional ways of life. (Durie, 2007) As these shifts continued, support networks of the whanau or extended families which were once source of strength of maori communities slowly disappeared and maori were become more often at the receiving end of hostile behaviour. (Durie, 2007) Mana in this new urban society was measured differently and it was regarded more in terms of material possessions in comparison with the society they were used to which recognized mana as a sacred spiritual element within individual dignity. The liberalism ideology has been the dominant theory in America, as the postwar unified order expressed through the dominance of the United Nations and its attempts to build a global peace. However, the contemporary global tide of isolationist nationalism propelled Mr. Trump to power, and has also led to the development of many nationalist parties in Europe, which have signaled a breaking away from the postwar, globalized peace that reflects liberalist philosophy. He even distributed a strange photograph of himself supposedly in the act of ordering merciless nuclear strikes against the US mainland. In some ways, Kim Jong Un is a leader from the same mold as Trump, in that he is trying to use strong words and theatrical approaches to maintain power; the divisions he foments within the North Korean regime seem at least somewhat analogous to the divisions sown by hardline nationalist conservatives in the United States. Although the international community hoped that Kim Jong Un s rise to power would hearken toward a more modernized North Korea, he has instead pursued a stridently nationalist regime that sees all other nations, and especially the United States, as a direct threat to its existence. Drinking habits are affected by temperature and failure to make adjustment for this many result in increasing incidence in fluorosis in one climate. To achieve maximum protection for both primary and secondary teeth, the consumption of fluoridated water is essential as it acts directly as topical agent as well as systematically during teeth formation. A company that has most of it money from investors could be a red flag to investors. This shows a company may be less willing to save their company because a lot of the owner s money is not invested. As an investor basic earnings per share are more important than diluted earnings. Basic earnings consist only of common stock or includes no potential common stock that upon conversion or exercise could dilute earnings per common share (Kieso, D. E., Weygandt, J.J., amp; Warfied, T. D., 2007). In a sense, basic earnings do not reduce the earnings per share. Basic earnings are part of a simple capital structure. Diluted earnings are part of a complex capital structure and have the potential to be converted to common stock. Upon conversion or exercise by the holder, the dilutive securities reduce (dilute) earnings per share (Kieso, D. E., Weygandt, J.J., amp; Warfied, T. D., 2007). A complex structure is when a corporation has earnings that may be diluted. Basic earnings are more important because an investor has less potential to lose money because basic earnings cannot be reduced. What Is Huxley s Vision In Brave New World As defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary, a society includes people in general thought of as living together in organized communities with shared laws, traditions, and values. In Amusing Ourselves to Death, Neil Postman s assertion supports Aldous Huxley s vision about the future state of society over that of George Orwell s. According to Orwell s 1984, 1984 was to be the year that Big Brother would lead a dictatorial government, however this never occurred. Evidence supportive of Huxley s vision is seen through an abundance of information available to most societies, a constant pursuit of pleasure and entertainment by societies, and a society s media determining the way in which it defines truth. According to such evidence of the contemporary society, Postman s assertion that Huxley s vision is more relevant today than is Orwell s is true. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Viola s ascent , therefore, allows here to seek employment and protection from Orsino, as well as allow her the freedom of movement which gives the scope for Viola s interaction with the other characters. This freedom in movement is paralleled by a freedom to portray any chosen identity and this is what Viola does. She mimics Orsino in her rendition of the courtly lover when she meets Olivia, but because she is in fact a woman, and also, in a way, Olivia s rival in love, Viola puts up a resistance in her courtship speeches. For Viola, there is no real desire to please Olivia or to fear that she may be offended. She mixes her criticism of Olivia with her official text when she tells Olivia: Viola. I see what you are, you are too proud: But if you were the devil, you are fair. My lord and master loves you: O, such love Could be but recompens d, though you were crown d The non pareil of beauty!
