Characteristics Of Coyote Ecology
The coyote has very distinctive features and is classified as a member of the canine family. They live
in packs and typically mate for life. They are relatively small predators and their ability to adapt well
to the environment around them allows them to live almost anywhere. The coyote s population size
and habitat range has increased over the years. There have been spotting s of coyotes within
residential communities because of human expansion into their territories as well. They shift their diet
depending on the environment they are in. They are susceptible to a few diseases that specifically
affect the dog family. Coyotes typically do not bother people or domesticated pets; however, there
have been rare cases where they have attacked and killed a person. Coyote ecology is important to
understand in order to get a better sense of the environments they live in and how they affect other
wildlife around them. The coyote is a member of the canine family which also includes foxes and
wolves ( Urban Coyote Research ). They are medium in size ( Urban Coyote Research ). Coyotes have
a long, slender muzzle, pointed ears, and a bushy tail resembling a German Shepard ( Urban Coyote
Research ). Their coloration can vary from gray to black, but most are usually a grayish brown with
reddish coloring behind the ears and around the face ( Urban Coyote Research ). Coyotes have yellow
eyes rather than the typical black eyes of domesticated dogs ( Urban Coyote Research ). Most adults

Religious Hypocrisy In Tartuffe And Candide
Religious Hypocrisy in Tartuffe and Candide Religion in society has often been a tough pill to
swallow for everyone. Dating back to the 17th and 18th century authors, like Moliere and Voltaire,
often express their views on social issues with an outstanding play. Tartuffe, Moliere s play, and
Candide, Voltaire s play, both deal with the issue of religion in society. Tartuffe is written as a comedy
in which satirizes religious hypocrisy. It was wrote it about the views of the bourgeois class towards
religion in France. Almost a century later, Voltaire writes Candide a satirical tale which condemns the
clergy s hypocrisy in 18th century Europe. Moliere creates the character Tartuffe to show the readers
the hypocrisy hidden within christian standards. In Act 3, Tartuffe explains to Dorine how unladylike
she is being and tells her to cover that bosom and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is used to introduce the idea of fanaticism. Orgon cannot believe anyone who says that Tartuffe is
betraying him. He can only see the good works that he has has said and done. Moliere uses the
character Cleante to express his raw feelings about religious hypocrisy. Cleante is considered to be the
voice of reason in Tartuffe. Voltaire criticizes religious hypocrisy differently than Moliere. Moliere
used one single person to be hypocritical religion. Voltaire chastises the entire religious assembly.
Voltaire had the idea that the entire the clergy of the was completely hypocritical. The clergy instructs
the people of the catholic church to follow a set of rules and regulations. If any one broke any one of
the rules there were serious consequences. However, Clergy members chose not to follow their own
rules. Voltaire express this hypocrisy by the hanging Dr. Pangloss, a philosopher. Pangloss offends an
Inquisitor by expressing his philosophical views. Dr. Pangloss was hanged by the clergy, however, the
clergy is not punished for

College Cost In College
The author talks about college cost, and the effect it has on students and on how times it takes longer
to graduate. This is an important topic because college cost has been a problem for many individuals
for decades and it still is. College cost is something that shapes people s lives and it worries them
because college cost is what determines if they re going to continue going to college. It s something
that people should take lightly because college is pretty expensive. According to the advocacy group
complete college America, it cost 63,718 for one extra year to attend college. For students who take
longer to finish school because of certain requisites, it becomes a toll because of the cost. According to
Norton Field Guide to writing by Richard Bullock and Maureen Daly Goggin found a report on Los
Angeles bases campaigns for college opportunity, saying students who attend school 6 years instead of
4 years will lose 110,900 dollars in their lifetime. Many people in the work field and colleges expect
students to attend school for four years. According to the NFGW, nearly nine out of 10 freshmen think
they will earn their bachelor degree within the traditional four years. Yet In the NFGW quotes the U.S
Department of Education and they report that about 45 percent won t have finished.
I have encountered many people who have mentioned that college is very expensive and that it has
been a big factor on whether they would continue their education. People can take a break

Essay on The National Response Framework
Having a basic understanding of community or national emergency plans can assist families in
disaster. This is especially true during the response phase. The National Response Framework (NRF)
is a great example of a national community reference. According to FEMA s publication, The National
Response Framework, from 2013, the NRF is a guide which describes the basis of national response to
any form of disaster. The NRF was developed from a long line of response guidance plans. The first
was the Federal Response plan which was replaced by the National Response Plan. Then in 2008, the
NRF was developed to make national response guidance more efficient as well as to include practices
created after Hurricane Katrina. The NRF is comprised ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This includes actions such as household hazard reduction and participating in voluntary organizations
and programs (Federal Emergency Management Agency, 2013c, p. 8).
The Incident Command System Today, the Incident Command System (ICS) is a major component of
NIMS and is widely used in emergency management response. However, this was not always the case.
According to David A. McEntire and Gregg Dawson, authors of the article, The intergovernmental
Context, ICS was originally developed by the fire service in 1970. Its purpose was to assist in the
command of wildfire events. It was unique because it standardized operations, yet offered flexibility
so that it could be used on any number of events, regardless of size or type (McEntire Dawson, 2007,
p. 63).
The book, National Incident Management System: Principles and Practice, by Dr. Donald W. Walsh,
Dr. Hank T. Christen, Christian E. Callsen, Geoffrey T. Miller, Paul M. Maniscalco, Graydon C. Lord,
and Neal J. Dolan, describes ICS as, ...a system for domestic incident management that is based on an
expandable, flexible structure... (Walsh, et al., 2012, p. 12). Due to this flexibility, Walsh et al. state
that ICS is commonly used by all levels of government as well as by a number of non governmental
agencies and the private sector. ICS is structured around five sections. These sections are command,
operations, planning, logistics, and finance/administration (Walsh, et al., 2012,

Essay on Leadership (Jack Welch)
I have learned many lessons from Jack Welch on leadership. Jack Welch has been with the General
Electric Company (GE) since 1960. Having taken over GE with a market capitalization of about $12
billion, Jack Welch turned it into one of the largest and most admired companies in the world by the
time he stepped down as its CEO 20 years later, in 2000. Jack Welch used his uncanny instincts and
unique leadership strategies to run GE, the most complex organization in the world and increased its
market value by more than $400 billion over two decades. He remains a highly regarded figure in
business circles due to his innovative leadership style. Jack Welch demonstrated Kouzes and Posner s
five practices of modeling the way, inspiring a shared ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jack Welch s vision of what GE was possible of gave the company a vision for twenty years while he
was the CEO and chairman. He states, leaders make sure people not only see the vision, they live and
breathe it. (Winning, pg 67) He not only allowed for employees to stretch, but demanded it. In
teaching workers to stretch Welch knew that workers may fail. In fact, they probably will fail. But
stretching, and stretching the business, is going to improve performance results. (Jack Welch on
Leadership, pg 105) He also states that only by setting the performance bar high did it become
possible to discover people s capabilities. Jack Welch s emphasis on candor and breaking the
bureaucracy of modern business separated him from his contemporaries. He excited others of the
possibility of being the biggest and best company in the world and rewarding his best employees that
shared the values of GE. According to FORTUNE Editorial Director Geoffrey Colvin In The Ultimate
Manager, Welch leads the annals of management history not for anticipating the new world s changes
ahead, but for acting on them: His great achievement is that having seen it, he faced up to the huge,
painful changes it demanded, and made them faster and more emphatically than anyone else in
business. He led managers into this new world, which we still inhabit, and just as important, he

First Woman Leader of a Muslim Nation
..In pain you shall bring forth children, and you shall be dependent on your husband, and he shall rule
over you. (Genesis 3 v 16.) Religion is almost exclusively to blame for how women are treated in
Islam. Benazir Bhutto lead the movement from believing women would be nothing without men, to a
woman can lead a country and her people. Religion tells us that the woman is created for the man, and
that she shall serve him, treat him as if he was a God. We also learn from the bible that the single
purpose of a woman is continuing on the males lineage. The bible, along with religion, attempts to
destroy the science of birth. Every man born, was born to a woman, and is almost entirely dependent
on the mother for most of their adolescent years. The bible tries to teach that woman would be nothing
without man as the first woman was supposedly born of the first man, from an extra rib. In a debate
with religion, women s rights are almost always ignored, or even denied from the concept that a
woman must serve a man. (Ratcliffe 2012) This is the logic that is the reason women in Islam, still do
not have many rights. These women are perpetuated into looking as if they carried some right, but
when you look at the facts, a woman is not trusted with most decisions in Islam. Let alone to be
responsible for the decisions that are the future of an entire country. It was not until Bhutto was
elected Prime Minister of Islam that women had any political say in the country at all.

been the sole provider for my family for many years. I have watched her struggle trying to provide for
us and I determined long ago that I would strive to do more for my future family than what she was
able to give us. My dreams required that I attend college. It is because of the financial hardship my
family faces every day that the financial burden that comes from attending college rests solely on my
shoulders. Although I am employed, I do not make enough money to pay for the cost of living and my
school expenses. My goal is to become an attorney and I do everything in my power to attain that

Essay about The Mirror Neuron and its Role in Action...
Although the control of action in humans is fairly well understood, the processes that underlie action
understanding from observation are much more unclear. In general, action understanding refers to the
ability to recognize the purpose of an action performed by another person (Hickok 2008). Two
prominent theories exist to explain this phenomenon. The first posits that action understanding is an
inferential process that integrates contextual clues to determine the goal of a movement. In contrast,
the second theory asserts that action understanding arises from the simulation of the observed action in
the motor areas of the viewer (Brass et al. 2007). While the inferential process theory enjoyed a period
of general acceptance, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The researchers concluded that this indicated mirror neurons coded not just for action, but the goals of
action. Kohler and colleagues (2007) expanded on this idea, showing that some neurons were
activated with the mere sound of the result of an intended action (i.e. cracking a peanut). The authors
asserted that this indicated that mirror neurons were so tuned to goals that the sound of an action
reaching its goal was enough for the macaque to understand the entire action that would have been
involved. The results of both studies were said to apply neatly to humans as well. That is, if action
understanding is supported by the mirror neuron system of macaques, it is most likely supported by
the human mirror neuron system (hMNS). There are two major problems with this view. First, it has
been shown that human mirror neurons are much more broadly tuned than monkeys. There is not
enough evidence to generalize macaque studies to humans in this way (Hickok 2008). Second, both of
these studies fail to acknowledge that the activation of mirror neurons may have been the result, or a
byproduct, of understanding rather than the cause. Their activity, then, may only have reflected
understanding earlier in processing.
If action understanding in humans is predominantly reliant on mirror neurons, then these neurons
should respond preferentially to the ends of an action rather than the means; however, this is not the
case. Hesse and

The Grand Canyon By John Wesley Powell
Introduction
On May 24, 1869, Major John Wesley Powell set off to explore the Grand Canyon and discovered its
beauty to educate the world about this vast landscape. Before his discovery, it had been known as Big
Canyon, neither are appropriate titles. Grand is an understatement to describe this canyon. Majestic
would be a better description as it is defined as lofty dignity as well as sublime beauty, which
greatness can t be measured or imitated. The extraordinary splendor of its landscape can t be
compared and its history is just as impressive. It is considered one of the seven wonders of the world
with reason.
The Grand Canyon was named such in 1871 and in 1919 the Grand Canyon became a National Park.
Before becoming a National Park Grand Canyon was given Federal protection in 1893 as a Forest
Reserve. A few years later, Grand Canyon became a National Monument. The mission was to preserve
the park and its features. It was to leave the canyon pristine for the future while providing a way
visitors could enjoy the park.
The Grand Canyon is located in Northern Arizona and is part of the Colorado Plateau that was uplifted
during tectonic activity. It is said to be more than 1.7 billion years old and filled with many mysteries
still about its formation. This immense canyon was cut by the Colorado River that exposed its
horizontal layers of rock history. These layers have mostly a red hue but each group of strata has a
distinctive color often giving us a sign of its origin.

The Government Should Tax Churches
Hypothetically, someone goes to church on Sunday and is asked by their pastor to donate 10% of their
annual income to help feed the hungry and agrees to do so. They later find out that only 3% of the
church s income actually goes to helping the poor and the rest is being used to expand the church and
its resources. They then realize that a portion of the income donated is not going to the cause they
want to support. So where are their offerings and donations actually going? Even though non profit
churches play a crucial social service for an abundance of people, the government should tax churches
because it is not in the best interest for all of the public when we all have to make up lost revenue for
these establishments, it would decrease group leaders from taking advantage of tax breaks, and taxing
churches could provide increased revenue to help with other important issues. In 1789,the First
Amendment established Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion... This
means that the Federal and State Governments cannot be partial in showing support of any
denomination or religious organization. An example being that the nations early attachment to the
Church of England. Three years after this amendment was written, it was ratified by the states of the
union. Religious organizations across the U.S. receive tax exemptions in regulation to exercise the 1st
amendment in order of separation of church and state. There is an argument in the way this

Essay about American Imperialism
The years after the Civil War were the years of great economic expansion in the history of United
States. With the increase in production by industries, the demand for resources increased rapidly and
because the land under the control of the United States could not fulfill this demand, the only option
was to expand the territorial area. In 1867, the United States purchased Alaska from Russia and in the
same year, it annexed Midway Islands. Until 1890s, the expansion was restricted to west and did not
go further the nation s boundaries. But the decade of 1890s, the period between 1893 and1903 was a
turning point in the history of United States, marked with the expansion of America for the first time
outside its main land. Even though policy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a treaty with the Spain, the US acquired the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and the pacific island of
Guam. Overproduction and under consumption during the Panic of 1893 demonstrated the need for
foreign markets if the economy were to recover again, which heightened the belief that more assertive
foreign policy was indispensible to encourage American exports. To meet the challenge the country
had no apparent choice but to reconstruct its economy or compete for foreign markets and points of
strategic significance, especially in the Pacific. Another problem that emerged during this depression
and could be solved by expanding the markets was the discontent caused by unemployment after the
Panic of 1893. The new markets would work as a safety valve, which by improving the economy of
America would reduce the domestic problems.
Proponents of imperialism believed that the colonial holdings, as strategic assets, were of high value
in the on going quest for maritime supremacy. One of the supporters of imperialism was Alfred Thayer
Mahan, who argued that a large fleet of ships, protected by a powerful navy, is required for successful
international trade. He believed that colonies facilitate and enlarge the operations of shipping and tend
to protect it by multiplying points of safety. Influenced by theses ideas, James G. Blaine urged
president to try to acquire

The Tax Rate And Private Savings Essay
Figure (7) may work as another evidence of the inability of Egyptian tax system to mobilize domestic
savings, as it shows that while domestic private savings, as a percent of GDP, was fluctuating around a
downward sloping trend, marginal tax rate was fluctuating around a relatively horizontal trend which
indicates that marginal tax rate has no or insignificant power over stimulating domestic private
savings.
Figure 7.Marginal Tax Rate and Private Domestic Savings to GDP Source: Author s calculations based
on data extracted from Ministry of Finance, Monthly Financial Report, different editions.
To verify this conclusion, the effect of main sources of tax revenue (taxes on income, taxes on
property, taxes on goods and services and tariff) on domestic savings will be examined statistically.
The only source of tax revenue that has statistically significant effect on domestic savings is property
tax. Tax on properties is negatively related to domestic savings with coefficient 12, see appendix (3).
Accordingly, small reduction in property taxes will have magnitude increase in domestic savings.
Thus, if financial markets are operating efficiently, tax cut on properties will have a considerable
positive effect on the process of economic growth, especially since property taxes represent only
3.6%, in average, of total tax revenue.
While domestic saving is a leakage of income that flows outside the economy; however, it can be re
injected in the economy again

There are numerous types of bone diseases in the world, however there are some that are considered to

sense that they must be treated carefully to prevent the patient from undergoing too much pain. While

Homeostasis is a natural balance of our body, and without a good amount of calcium, we lose some of
that balance. The Calcium in the bones is what keeps them strong, without it they tend to become soft
and weak. There are numerous places where people can get their vitamin D, one of the most
commonly known is from exposure to the sun. while too much sun can lead to damaginf effects on the
skin, it is still extremely important to get a decent amount of exposure. Those who are unable to get an
appropriate amount of exposure, for example: modest women who are unallowed to show much skin,
can find vitamin D from different sources. Other sources include fish such as salmon, fortified milk,
and cod liver oil (Holick,2005). If people make a greater effort to have a diet that includes this
vitamin, they are gauranteed to build stronger bones. Anyone can get nutritional rickets, however
some mothers may question the reason behind why their new born child develops it at such a young
age. It all stems back to the mother. It is common for breastfeeding mothers who have low vitamin D

Growing Trends in High School Drop outs
One of the major concerns of education is the rate of students who are dropping out of school.
Statistically, the dropout rate has decreased from a national average of 15 percent in 1972 to 10
percent in 2003, according to the National Center for Education Statistics, which rated 16 24 year olds
(Child Trend, 2003). Though, there has been signs of a decrease, drop out rates continue to be a
concern to the public because of the potential consequences and financial costs to the government. On
the academic level, many schools are incapable of handling the new faces in the education realm.
Thus, it forces many students to leave school without a diploma. The drop out rates appears to be an ...

A concern of the statistical data of high school dropouts is the disparaging number of minority
students who drop out of high school in comparison to whites and Asians. A 1993 research by John
Hopkins University flagged 2,000 high schools across the country as potential dropout factories
because 40 percent or more of their freshmen fail to make it to 12th grade on time (Viadero, 2004).
These schools are in medium and bigger size cities and have a significant black and Latino student
population. Florida is the one exception, where many of the failing students are rural white. In 2003, it
was estimated that 6 percent of whites, in comparison to 12 percent of blacks had dropped out of
school (Child Trend, 2003). The primary reason appears that these school districts have a variety of
disadvantages, such as resources and money to improve schools and programs. These schools are
located in lower socio economic communities. However, these disadvantaged students are judged on
the same achievement standards as students who live in higher economic districts with better
resources and tools. Latin Americans constitute the highest percentage of high school dropouts. 24
percent of Latin Americans dropped out of school in 2003 (Child Trends, 2003). This is a significant
number because there are just as many Latin Americans dropping out of school as whites. Yet, Latin
Americans represent slightly above 15 percent of the population. The

Article Comparison Essay
In comparing and contrasting two articles which analyze and evaluate ethics in business, the impact of
corporate social responsibility and ethical behavior by corporation and their managers can be
understood by the public perception documented in a survey of Hawaiian residents, as well as the
argument of negative value to consumers when self interest and lack of ethics are part of an
organization s business model. The survey results in Choy s article demonstrate the impression of a
decline in corporate ethical behavior over the past twenty years. Both articles use the environment of
competition to discuss the characteristics of ethical and moral behavior in the corporate realm. The
recommendation based on the evaluation of information in the two articles is for business
organizations to employ ethical and moral practices that include the values of society, and use
traditional morality in all business dealings. The value of corporate social responsibility will be

a piece of paper or canvas and stuck down to create a completely new image. Collages have also often
been used in different types of art such as cubism and wood work and other types of paintings. It was
first introduced around 200 BC when the invention of paper came around in China; however it wasn t
used by many people until around the tenth century when calligraphers experimented by gluing paper,

superficial female progressive trends and the rapid progress of the industrial trends. In the centre of

The North Korean People s Army
At 4:00am on June 25, 1950, the North Korean People s Army (NKPA) crossed the 38th parallel in
force and invaded South Korea with the objective of unifying the two Koreas into a single communist
nation. General Douglas MacArthur would once again prove his value as a military commander with
his conception of Operation Chromite, which directed how the UN forces would respond. MacArthur
s unique gift in recognizing strategic opportunities, along with America s ability to quickly gather
military assets and counter in force, were key to the success of the Operation Chromite landings at
Inchon and turning the tide of the Korean War.
From the moment their invasion began, NKPA experienced success against the UN forces, led by the
United States and sent in to assist the South Korean Army. However, UN troops, all of which were
now under the command of General MacArthur, were literally overwhelmed at the onslaught of the
well equipped and experienced NKPA. By the end of July, UN forces had been driven into a small
area in the southeast portion of the Korean Pennisula around the Port of Pusan (present day Busan).
With the NKPA at their front, and the Sea of Japan at their back, UN forces were in dire straight and
running out of options. Only the visionary mind of General MacArthur conceptualizing and executing
Operation Chromite could avoid a military disaster and save South Korea.
Although the NKPA appeared in control of the conflict, MacArthur recognized the strain placed on the

An Excerpt From The NovelPrayer To Aphrodite
An excerpt from the novel: Prayer to Aphrodite . Balmy evenings were spent strolling along the
seashore, occasionally finding some secluded cove where they could make love undisturbed, or
sometimes the couple would just gaze up at the clear night sky as they lay down together on the sands.
On one occasion two days before the end of their holiday Amy tried to count the stars. You ll never do
it, said Clare, there are more stars in heaven than all the grains of sand on all the world s beaches.
Clever Clogs who told you that? It was my Uncle Bernard. He was into Astronomy Stephen s got his

It began to rain rather suddenly and Amy, wondering where Clare had disappeared, was about to go
and look for her, when she appeared at that moment, soaked to the skin. What on earth were you doing
all that time? she said curiously. Were you praying for the rain to stop? It says here that this temple is
supposed to be dedicated to Apollo the Sun God she laughed, waving her guide book in the air. Oh,
no, it wasn t that particular deity I was praying to, Clare said with a secretive smile. On another lazy
afternoon by the pool, Clare, lounging beneath a sunshade, composed a short poem in blank verse. She
felt that writing rhyming verse was sometimes too arduous a task. The poem was, as were all her
poems, written for Rachel. She scribbled it down on the back of a postcard; deliberating afterwards
whether to actually send it, even sticking a stamp on it and writing Rachel s address underneath:
Forsaken You have forsaken me; I, who have loved you. But you will never admit to it. You just say I
m busy when I call, In the forlorn hope that one day, You can find it in your heart to forgive. Was my
love a crime for which I shall be eternally punished? Should I say something, lie to you perhaps?
Deny my love, tell you it was all a dreadful mistake, And can I have our friendship back? Grovel at
your feet and say I m not a lesbian. The long leisurely days on the sun kissed isle passed rapidly and
Clare forgot about the postcard

The Molotov Ribbentrop Pact
Whilst the Allied victory of World War II often has considerable connotations with the D Day landings
of British and US troops, the significant contributions of the USSR that allowed such events to occur
with such success must be acknowledged. The Germans engagement on the Eastern Front ultimately
gave the opportunity for the Western Allied invasion of Germany to occur, as a large percentage of
total German troops were defeated by the Red Army on the Eastern Front, the Luftwaffe was
devastated by endless supplies of enemy Soviet aircraft, and the remaining German divisions were
forcefully divided unequally between the two fronts; leaving the western German defences
undermanned and ill equipped for a successful resistance against D Day and ... Show more content on

During July and August of 1943, the Soviet forces were largely involved in the Battle of Kursk, which

Dr. Kirkland s Class Letter Essay
Hello future 209ers!
This is a letter addressing how I was able to succeed in Dr. Kirkland s class. This is the first class I
have taken that I will be completing with a 3.9 4.0, and this is completely do able for anyone to
achieve (without sucking up all your time, energy, and motivation)! To begin, there are 450 points
available in this class. In other words, you can miss 27 points throughout the quarter and still get a 4.0.
That means that it is imperative to do well when it comes to the easy points that is the lecture
participation, section participation, and chapter quizzes. These are some of the things that worked best
for me in ensuring a high grade:
Attending every quiz section and lecture section is important, since ... Show more content on

If you don t get 10/10, then 1) take a picture of all the questions with the answers incase there are any
repeats on the second test (there are hardly ever any repeats but it s better to be over prepared than
underprepared), and 2) use the coming week s lectures to learn from your mistakes, ask questions
about the material, and figure out why you re wrong. The questions on the quizzes will help you
prepare for the midterm and final.
For the research paper, make sure to pick a topic you will enjoy researching and learning about, as this
will make it so much easier and you will be more motivated to write your paper. You will most likely
miss 1 or 2 points each assignment because we re all still learning and your first draft will evidently
not be perfect. I suggest as soon as you get the assignment graded, to take a look at the TA s notes and
fix said mistakes right away. This will save you a lot of time in the end when you have to put all the
parts together for your full rough draft and full final draft. The research proposal may seem daunting,
but it s broken down into very manageable parts that only take a few hours to complete. Make sure to
use your book to check if you re doing things right! Pages 507 to 520 are useful when constructing
your paper.
There are a ton of resources to use for the exams so take advantage of these while studying! I found
that the most effective method to study were re reading/take notes on the book to

Business Environments And The Workplace Before Entering...
I learned a lot of things this half year, although the most of them were negative. I found myself too
vulnerable to suit the business environments and the workplace before entering this class. I was not
brave to be the first one to express my opinions in front of others; I was weak at facing challenges, and
I always felt nervous and difficult to handle them; I could not focus on one thing too long because I
got distracted from a lot of temptation. The worst thing was: I hold my transcripts from undergraduate
school and felt like I was ready to go to workplace and I was very sure about my believing; I did not
recognized what my weakness were, and I always considered myself a good worker. In realty I was
not that good enough to be a moderate worker. It is necessary for an accountant in today s public
accounting companies to obtain different soft skills rather than only calculate numbers, and also
important for him or her to update their knowledge in time to accommodate the clients needs and
fulfill their objectives. I would say that the most important thing, rather than those negative sides of
myself, is gaining a chance to get rid of my weakness in both hard and soft skills and grow to be
stronger in mentality. Before stepping into the business world, I am studying on becoming a real
businesswoman here in this class, and now I have changed and grow.
For several times during the semester, I did review all my tasks and reflected on what I learned, which

The Miracle Of Jesus Research Paper
In Exodus 3:29, the Lord God called the nation of Israel a stiff necked people; thus considering Israel
s obstinacy, and history of rejecting many of God s chosen, it becomes of no surprise that Israel would
also reject Jesus. According to the New Testament Scriptures, Jesus performed many signs and
wonders to authenticate being the Son of God and Israel s Messiah, however, and as recorded by the
gospel writers Matthew and Mark (Matthew 12:22 37; Mark 3:20 30), Jesus miracle of casting a
demon out of deaf and blind man was attributed to Beelzebub or Satan by the Pharisees (Pentecost,
1981). Hence, the miracle not only caused dismay amongst the Pharisees but the people who
witnessed the miracle as well (Pentecost, 1981). Unfortunately, the people of Israel were taught
through the law by the Pharisees that the sheep should follow the shepherd; therefore, the people of
Israel were unwilling to accept Christ unless the Pharisees accepted Christ. Regrettably, the Pharisees
as shepherds quickly convinced the sheep that the miracle performed in Matthew and ... Show more

Unfortunately for Israel, Jesus had other ideas about what constituted a relationship to the Messiah.
Thus, in Matthew 12:46 50, it is recorded that Jesus rejected the idea of a blood relationship to the
Messiah when Jesus refused to acknowledge the blood relationship that existed between Jesus and
Jesus mother and brothers (Pentecost, 1981). Pointing to the disciples, Jesus Words indicated that any
relationship to the Messiah must be spiritual and based on faith; furthermore, any relationship to the
Messiah must also consist of wanting to do the Will of God (Pentecost, 1981). Jesus Words in
Matthew s narrative ran counterculture to what the Israelites believed; therefore, Israel continued to

Taxi Driver Social Disorganization
The film Taxi Driver, directed by Martin Scorsese, takes place in New York City during the 1970 s.
The main character Travis Bickle, played by Robert De Niro, is a United States Marine returning
home after serving his country. Taxi Driver appears to demonstrate the theory of Social
Disorganization. The audience can see this throughout the film in scenes where Bickle is driving
through the city. As the film continues Bickle appears to struggle with adjusting to such a large city
and coping with his sanity. This film takes a look at how Social Disorganization along with a mental
illness can contribute to someone s actions and behavior.
Travis Bickle is an extremely complex individual. It appears Bickle s mental state is deteriorating after
serving four years in the United States Marine Corps and seeing combat action in Vietnam. Bickle
seems to be an insomniac unable to sleep at night, part of the reason why he wants to drive a taxi cab
at night. Struggling to sleep, Bickle also consumes alcohol at various times of the day. The audience

Martin Scorsese beautifully demonstrates what a socially disorganized city might reflect. Whenever
Bickle is driving his taxi cab at night the audience can see prostitution, pimping, assault, robbery, and
drug dealing. In the movie one can see that there are really no institutions exhorting their control over
society. With a lack of control from institutions such as religion, politics, and school it allows crime to
take over and become a societal norm. Bickle sees that crime is rampant within the city and refers to
these individuals as scum. It is very apparent that social disorganization has especially taken hold of
the inner city, or Zone of Transition, which is where most minorities reside and where most crime
occurs. Bickle unfortunately both lives and primarily works in this

The state does not have a right to get into the people s private affairs. People may argue that freedom
makes an extension beyond the normal spatial limits. It includes the freedom for expression, belief,

the spatial dimensions (Goldberg 2003). Lawrence demands that the adults have a right to make any

However, it is the duty of the government to maintain the moral conduct of the citizens and any

The Dual Meaning Of The Closet
Henry Urbach uncovers the dual meaning of the closet as an architectural container and metaphoric
location to mask sexual identity. As an architectural container, the closet is a place where things are
stored. Putting away things that are not needed or wanted for display. The closet allows a room to look
cleaner and less clutter. Centuries ago closets were mainly wardrobes, how do closets from today s
society compare to closet wardrobes that were used years ago? Typically we say your clothes are in
the closet or the towels are in the closet but when people say, Jake has come out of the closet we don t
literally mean he walked out of a closet unit, but he or she has revealed their sexual identity. This
phrase is used because being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The term coming out of the closet is from the 20th century. It is hard for the person to come out with
who they really are. Although the decision to come out is a personal one, disclosure has been
facilitated by a variety of institutions and social movements: The re appropriation of stigmatizing
labels, (finding words that are less pejorative to describe a stigmatized group) advocacy and support
groups (a second social phenomenon that facilitates disclosure is the advocacy and support groups
made up of people who are out) and outing (a third phenomenon related to disclosure is outing).
(Corrigan, P .2003) According to Rosario, Schrimshaw, Hunter, Braun (2006), the development of a

Argumentative Essay On The American Nightmare
The American Nightmare It s fair to say that the United States is a postcard for success and
opportunity, but what s missing is the equal chance for every US citizen to be able to achieve the
dream. In America, we base our accomplishments on the success and failure of others around us. We
have created a society built upon status, and therefore taken the Dream and stamped an unrealistic
American image all over it. There is no doubt that there is a dream, but the reality is that for many, it
only will be a dream. The gap between wealth and poverty is growing exponentially every year, and
the struggle to achieve the dream, is becoming more and more out of reach. According to the CPS,
More than half of America s working age families with children under age eighteen (approximately
20.1 million families) have annual incomes of $60,000 or below and on the opposite end of this, less
than 3% of families earn an income of $260,000 a year. The benefits of being in a higher class based
on economic and social status, labels the American Dream as invalid, where only the wealthy elite can
win. It would be favorable to say that You go as far as your dreams take you , or, You get out of the
system as much as you put in . The ideology of meritocracy is the core of the American Dream; it s
what makes America such an admirable country. But reality check, this isn t the way America seems to
be working. According to PBS, the middle class average salary has dropped since 1970 (adjusted for

Two Approaches Of Leadership And Leadership
Leaders throughout history have displayed many characteristics and traits which make them who they
are, and influence the decisions they make. Whether or not the leader was born with these traits has
never been scientifically proven. However, it is within human nature that we learn through trial and
experience to improve our mental cognitive ability, and therefore leaders are, until proven otherwise,
made not born. Whether a leader is born a leader, or made a leader is not relevant to the end result.
What is relevant is if one of the two approaches of leadership produces a better leader. Leaders play a
large role in society, and great leaders play a large role in history. Trying to hypothesise whether
leaders are born or made is ironic, as by studying that topic, you are effectively helping to make future
leaders. Leaders are crucial to the continuing development of the human race. Without leaders, the
world would hardly change from when humans first inhabited it. Leaders inspire change, with goals
and aims in place to further develop the human race. While not all leaders have the same ideology as
others, they are still reaching to enhance the population. Leaders have been present throughout all
history, and many have played a large role in how society operates today. Leaders usually show many
similar characteristics to each other, and for this reason, many believe that a leader must have these
same qualities or traits to be a successful leader. Of interest however, is

Participant Extent Activity
It was hypothesized that intermittent exercise bouts are more effective than moderate continuous
training, because participants will be able to exercise long and therefore, will have a greater work
output. The main findings from this lab can be categorized into three sections, heart rate during
exercise bout refer to figure 1. Total work over exercise type, refer to figure 2. Time to fatigue over
exercise type, refer to figure 3.
When looking at heart rate over time it was found that the participants were able to exercise for longer
than when they exercised at a continuous pace. In the graph in compare to female students, Participant
1 is more trained in comparison to participant 2, and is therefore able to exercise longer and at a lower
heart rate, so it takes more time for participant 1 to fatigue. (Figure.1.) It was found, that with
intermittent exercise a higher total work output was achieved, this is because the participants are able
to work longer, even during the recovery phase they are generating some work. (Figure 2). It was

acted as their own control, and even though a 20 minute rest was allowed in between exercise bouts
fatigue will have an effect. We know this because whichever exercise participants performed seconds
they could not exercise for as long. We did not separate the trained from untrained and it is possible
that fitness level could affect recovery time. So we can assume that those who were able to recovery
quicker had a greater rest period, and were therefore able to exercise for longer and generate more
work regardless of what bout they performed second. This would have impactions in our final

Grandma Viive Autobiography
Her story began in 1944, but has never been forgotten. By sharing her experience, she continues to
influence my life.
My grandma, born in Tallinn, Estonia, fled the Russian attack during WWII. Viive, age nine, Ilvi, her
four year old sister, and mother, Silvia, escaped on foot from the Russian occupation of their country.
Their family, broken apart, was forced to leave Karl behind, a devoted husband and father. He was
committed to protect Estonia, by fighting along side Hitler s German Army. My grandma Viive, Aunt
Ilvi, and their mother, known as Ema in Estonian, landed in Germany and were forced to live in
Displaced Persons Camps for seven years. Unsure of their future, they boarded a ship and sailed to the
United States of America. The three girls, along with other Estonians, had no choice but to begin a
new life far different than they had ever known. All three of the Baltic countries, Estonia, Latvia, and
Lithuania, lost their freedom and were annexed into the Eastern Block of the Soviet Socialist Republic
(U.S.S.R.). The people who remained suffered mass repression under Stalin s Soviet rule. As a result,
tens of thousands of Estonians experienced deportation or death. The ones able to escape, like my

Factors Affecting Sickle Cell Anemia
There are many disorders that affect the red blood cells. The most common disorder is sickle cell
anemia. Sickle cell anemia is a hereditary blood disorder that affects the protein hemoglobin in red
blood cells ( What is Sickle Cell Disease , 2015). The protein hemoglobin S is changed and this affects
the way it works. Sickle cell anemia gene is passed down by the parents. If one parent has the
hemoglobin S gene of sickle cell, the child will have the sickle cell trait ( What is... , 2015). If both
parents have the gene of sickle cell, the child will have sickle cell disease. Sickle cell is most common
in African Americans ( What is... , 2015). Common symptoms of sickle cell anemia are fatigue, pain in

Red blood cells deliver oxygen throughout the body, deliver carbon dioxide to the lungs and other
nutrients for the body (Bailey, 2013). They have the protein hemoglobin A ( What is... , 2015). Normal
red blood cells can live up to 120 days ( What is... , 2015). Normal red blood cells are disc shaped or
bi concaved. This shape helps with the cells ability to move through all sizes of blood vessels and
capillaries in the body to deliver oxygen and other nutrients ( What is... , 2015). Red blood cells
transport is an example of passive transport (Bailey, 2013). Contrary, sickle cells are crescent shaped.
These cells form stiff rods within the cell creating that sickle shape ( What is... , 2015). The cellular
transport of sickle cells is difficult because of its shape. Sickle cells cannot flow as easily through
blood vessels and capillaries. They can cause blood vessel blockages which can stop blood flow (
What is the difference? , 2008). Without the normal flow of blood, oxygen is not delivered. Oxygen
deficiency can cause many problems in the body. Lack of oxygen can cause severe pain attacks called
pain crises for sickle cell anemia patients ( What is... , 2015). Organ damage can also occur. Most
sickle cells live up to 20 days; because of their shape, they burst easily ( What is... , 2015). The
number of red blood cells is lower in sickle cell anemia patients because the body has a hard time

  • 2. Characteristics Of Coyote Ecology The coyote has very distinctive features and is classified as a member of the canine family. They live in packs and typically mate for life. They are relatively small predators and their ability to adapt well to the environment around them allows them to live almost anywhere. The coyote s population size and habitat range has increased over the years. There have been spotting s of coyotes within residential communities because of human expansion into their territories as well. They shift their diet depending on the environment they are in. They are susceptible to a few diseases that specifically affect the dog family. Coyotes typically do not bother people or domesticated pets; however, there have been rare cases where they have attacked and killed a person. Coyote ecology is important to understand in order to get a better sense of the environments they live in and how they affect other wildlife around them. The coyote is a member of the canine family which also includes foxes and wolves ( Urban Coyote Research ). They are medium in size ( Urban Coyote Research ). • 3. Religious Hypocrisy In Tartuffe And Candide Religious Hypocrisy in Tartuffe and Candide Religion in society has often been a tough pill to swallow for everyone. Dating back to the 17th and 18th century authors, like Moliere and Voltaire, often express their views on social issues with an outstanding play. Tartuffe, Moliere s play, and Candide, Voltaire s play, both deal with the issue of religion in society. Tartuffe is written as a comedy in which satirizes religious hypocrisy. It was wrote it about the views of the bourgeois class towards religion in France. Almost a century later, Voltaire writes Candide a satirical tale which condemns the clergy s hypocrisy in 18th century Europe. Moliere creates the character Tartuffe to show the readers the hypocrisy hidden within christian standards. In Act 3, Tartuffe explains to Dorine how unladylike she is being and tells her to cover that bosom and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is used to introduce the idea of fanaticism. Orgon cannot believe anyone who says that Tartuffe is betraying him. He can only see the good works that he has has said and done. Moliere uses the character Cleante to express his raw feelings about religious hypocrisy. Cleante is considered to be the voice of reason in Tartuffe. Voltaire criticizes religious hypocrisy differently than Moliere. Moliere used one single person to be hypocritical religion. Voltaire chastises the entire religious assembly. Voltaire had the idea that the entire the clergy of the was completely hypocritical. The clergy instructs the people of the catholic church to follow a set of rules and regulations. If any one broke any one of the rules there were serious consequences. However, Clergy members chose not to follow their own rules. Voltaire express this hypocrisy by the hanging Dr. Pangloss, a philosopher. Pangloss offends an Inquisitor by expressing his philosophical views. • 4. College Cost In College The author talks about college cost, and the effect it has on students and on how times it takes longer to graduate. This is an important topic because college cost has been a problem for many individuals for decades and it still is. College cost is something that shapes people s lives and it worries them because college cost is what determines if they re going to continue going to college. It s something that people should take lightly because college is pretty expensive. According to the advocacy group complete college America, it cost 63,718 for one extra year to attend college. For students who take longer to finish school because of certain requisites, it becomes a toll because of the cost. According to Norton Field Guide to writing by Richard Bullock and Maureen Daly Goggin found a report on Los Angeles bases campaigns for college opportunity, saying students who attend school 6 years instead of 4 years will lose 110,900 dollars in their lifetime. Many people in the work field and colleges expect students to attend school for four years. According to the NFGW, nearly nine out of 10 freshmen think they will earn their bachelor degree within the traditional four years. Yet In the NFGW quotes the U.S Department of Education and they report that about 45 percent won t have finished. I have encountered many people who have mentioned that college is very expensive and that it has been a big factor on whether they would continue their education. People can take a break ... • 5. Essay on The National Response Framework Having a basic understanding of community or national emergency plans can assist families in disaster. This is especially true during the response phase. The National Response Framework (NRF) is a great example of a national community reference. According to FEMA s publication, The National Response Framework, from 2013, the NRF is a guide which describes the basis of national response to any form of disaster. The NRF was developed from a long line of response guidance plans. The first was the Federal Response plan which was replaced by the National Response Plan. Then in 2008, the NRF was developed to make national response guidance more efficient as well as to include practices created after Hurricane Katrina. The NRF is comprised ... This includes actions such as household hazard reduction and participating in voluntary organizations and programs (Federal Emergency Management Agency, 2013c, p. 8). The Incident Command System Today, the Incident Command System (ICS) is a major component of NIMS and is widely used in emergency management response. However, this was not always the case. According to David A. McEntire and Gregg Dawson, authors of the article, The intergovernmental Context, ICS was originally developed by the fire service in 1970. Its purpose was to assist in the command of wildfire events. It was unique because it standardized operations, yet offered flexibility so that it could be used on any number of events, regardless of size or type (McEntire Dawson, 2007, p. 63). The book, National Incident Management System: Principles and Practice, by Dr. Donald W. Walsh, Dr. Hank T. Christen, Christian E. Callsen, Geoffrey T. Miller, Paul M. Maniscalco, Graydon C. Lord, and Neal J. Dolan, describes ICS as, ...a system for domestic incident management that is based on an expandable, flexible structure... (Walsh, et al., 2012, p. 12). Due to this flexibility, Walsh et al. state that ICS is commonly used by all levels of government as well as by a number of non governmental agencies and the private sector. ICS is structured around five sections. These sections are command, operations, planning, logistics, and finance/administration (Walsh, et al., 2012, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay on Leadership (Jack Welch) I have learned many lessons from Jack Welch on leadership. Jack Welch has been with the General Electric Company (GE) since 1960. Having taken over GE with a market capitalization of about $12 billion, Jack Welch turned it into one of the largest and most admired companies in the world by the time he stepped down as its CEO 20 years later, in 2000. Jack Welch used his uncanny instincts and unique leadership strategies to run GE, the most complex organization in the world and increased its market value by more than $400 billion over two decades. He remains a highly regarded figure in business circles due to his innovative leadership style. Jack Welch demonstrated Kouzes and Posner s five practices of modeling the way, inspiring a shared ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jack Welch s vision of what GE was possible of gave the company a vision for twenty years while he was the CEO and chairman. He states, leaders make sure people not only see the vision, they live and breathe it. (Winning, pg 67) He not only allowed for employees to stretch, but demanded it. In teaching workers to stretch Welch knew that workers may fail. In fact, they probably will fail. But stretching, and stretching the business, is going to improve performance results. (Jack Welch on Leadership, pg 105) He also states that only by setting the performance bar high did it become possible to discover people s capabilities. Jack Welch s emphasis on candor and breaking the bureaucracy of modern business separated him from his contemporaries. He excited others of the possibility of being the biggest and best company in the world and rewarding his best employees that shared the values of GE. According to FORTUNE Editorial Director Geoffrey Colvin In The Ultimate Manager, Welch leads the annals of management history not for anticipating the new world s changes ahead, but for acting on them: His great achievement is that having seen it, he faced up to the huge, painful changes it demanded, and made them faster and more emphatically than anyone else in business. Religion is almost exclusively to blame for how women are treated in Islam. Benazir Bhutto lead the movement from believing women would be nothing without men, to a woman can lead a country and her people. Religion tells us that the woman is created for the man, and that she shall serve him, treat him as if he was a God. We also learn from the bible that the single purpose of a woman is continuing on the males lineage. The bible, along with religion, attempts to destroy the science of birth. Every man born, was born to a woman, and is almost entirely dependent on the mother for most of their adolescent years. The bible tries to teach that woman would be nothing without man as the first woman was supposedly born of the first man, from an extra rib. In a debate with religion, women s rights are almost always ignored, or even denied from the concept that a woman must serve a man. (Ratcliffe 2012) This is the logic that is the reason women in Islam, still do not have many rights. These women are perpetuated into looking as if they carried some right, but when you look at the facts, a woman is not trusted with most decisions in Islam. Let alone to be responsible for the decisions that are the future of an entire country. It was not until Bhutto was elected Prime Minister of Islam that women had any political say in the country at all. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Essay about The Mirror Neuron and its Role in Action... Although the control of action in humans is fairly well understood, the processes that underlie action understanding from observation are much more unclear. In general, action understanding refers to the ability to recognize the purpose of an action performed by another person (Hickok 2008). Two prominent theories exist to explain this phenomenon. The first posits that action understanding is an inferential process that integrates contextual clues to determine the goal of a movement. In contrast, the second theory asserts that action understanding arises from the simulation of the observed action in the motor areas of the viewer (Brass et al. 2007). While the inferential process theory enjoyed a period of general acceptance, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The researchers concluded that this indicated mirror neurons coded not just for action, but the goals of action. Kohler and colleagues (2007) expanded on this idea, showing that some neurons were activated with the mere sound of the result of an intended action (i.e. cracking a peanut). The authors asserted that this indicated that mirror neurons were so tuned to goals that the sound of an action reaching its goal was enough for the macaque to understand the entire action that would have been involved. The results of both studies were said to apply neatly to humans as well. That is, if action understanding is supported by the mirror neuron system of macaques, it is most likely supported by the human mirror neuron system (hMNS). There are two major problems with this view. First, it has been shown that human mirror neurons are much more broadly tuned than monkeys. There is not enough evidence to generalize macaque studies to humans in this way (Hickok 2008). Second, both of these studies fail to acknowledge that the activation of mirror neurons may have been the result, or a byproduct, of understanding rather than the cause. Their activity, then, may only have reflected understanding earlier in processing. If action understanding in humans is predominantly reliant on mirror neurons, then these neurons should respond preferentially to the ends of an action rather than the means; however, this is not the case. • 10. The Grand Canyon By John Wesley Powell Introduction On May 24, 1869, Major John Wesley Powell set off to explore the Grand Canyon and discovered its beauty to educate the world about this vast landscape. Before his discovery, it had been known as Big Canyon, neither are appropriate titles. Grand is an understatement to describe this canyon. Majestic would be a better description as it is defined as lofty dignity as well as sublime beauty, which greatness can t be measured or imitated. The extraordinary splendor of its landscape can t be compared and its history is just as impressive. It is considered one of the seven wonders of the world with reason. The Grand Canyon was named such in 1871 and in 1919 the Grand Canyon became a National Park. Before becoming a National Park Grand Canyon was given Federal protection in 1893 as a Forest Reserve. A few years later, Grand Canyon became a National Monument. The mission was to preserve the park and its features. It was to leave the canyon pristine for the future while providing a way visitors could enjoy the park. The Grand Canyon is located in Northern Arizona and is part of the Colorado Plateau that was uplifted during tectonic activity. It is said to be more than 1.7 billion years old and filled with many mysteries still about its formation. This immense canyon was cut by the Colorado River that exposed its horizontal layers of rock history. These layers have mostly a red hue but each group of strata has a distinctive color often giving us a sign of its origin. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Government Should Tax Churches Hypothetically, someone goes to church on Sunday and is asked by their pastor to donate 10% of their annual income to help feed the hungry and agrees to do so. They later find out that only 3% of the church s income actually goes to helping the poor and the rest is being used to expand the church and its resources. They then realize that a portion of the income donated is not going to the cause they want to support. So where are their offerings and donations actually going? Even though non profit churches play a crucial social service for an abundance of people, the government should tax churches because it is not in the best interest for all of the public when we all have to make up lost revenue for these establishments, it would decrease group leaders from taking advantage of tax breaks, and taxing churches could provide increased revenue to help with other important issues. With the increase in production by industries, the demand for resources increased rapidly and because the land under the control of the United States could not fulfill this demand, the only option was to expand the territorial area. In 1867, the United States purchased Alaska from Russia and in the same year, it annexed Midway Islands. Until 1890s, the expansion was restricted to west and did not go further the nation s boundaries. But the decade of 1890s, the period between 1893 and1903 was a turning point in the history of United States, marked with the expansion of America for the first time outside its main land. Overproduction and under consumption during the Panic of 1893 demonstrated the need for foreign markets if the economy were to recover again, which heightened the belief that more assertive foreign policy was indispensible to encourage American exports. To meet the challenge the country had no apparent choice but to reconstruct its economy or compete for foreign markets and points of strategic significance, especially in the Pacific. Another problem that emerged during this depression and could be solved by expanding the markets was the discontent caused by unemployment after the Panic of 1893. The new markets would work as a safety valve, which by improving the economy of America would reduce the domestic problems. Proponents of imperialism believed that the colonial holdings, as strategic assets, were of high value in the on going quest for maritime supremacy. One of the supporters of imperialism was Alfred Thayer Mahan, who argued that a large fleet of ships, protected by a powerful navy, is required for successful international trade. He believed that colonies facilitate and enlarge the operations of shipping and tend to protect it by multiplying points of safety. Influenced by theses ideas, James G. • 13. The Tax Rate And Private Savings Essay Figure (7) may work as another evidence of the inability of Egyptian tax system to mobilize domestic savings, as it shows that while domestic private savings, as a percent of GDP, was fluctuating around a downward sloping trend, marginal tax rate was fluctuating around a relatively horizontal trend which indicates that marginal tax rate has no or insignificant power over stimulating domestic private savings. Figure 7.Marginal Tax Rate and Private Domestic Savings to GDP Source: Author s calculations based on data extracted from Ministry of Finance, Monthly Financial Report, different editions. To verify this conclusion, the effect of main sources of tax revenue (taxes on income, taxes on property, taxes on goods and services and tariff) on domestic savings will be examined statistically. The only source of tax revenue that has statistically significant effect on domestic savings is property tax. Tax on properties is negatively related to domestic savings with coefficient 12, see appendix (3). Accordingly, small reduction in property taxes will have magnitude increase in domestic savings. Thus, if financial markets are operating efficiently, tax cut on properties will have a considerable positive effect on the process of economic growth, especially since property taxes represent only 3.6%, in average, of total tax revenue. Though, there has been signs of a decrease, drop out rates continue to be a concern to the public because of the potential consequences and financial costs to the government. A concern of the statistical data of high school dropouts is the disparaging number of minority students who drop out of high school in comparison to whites and Asians. A 1993 research by John Hopkins University flagged 2,000 high schools across the country as potential dropout factories because 40 percent or more of their freshmen fail to make it to 12th grade on time (Viadero, 2004). These schools are in medium and bigger size cities and have a significant black and Latino student population. Florida is the one exception, where many of the failing students are rural white. In 2003, it was estimated that 6 percent of whites, in comparison to 12 percent of blacks had dropped out of school (Child Trend, 2003). The primary reason appears that these school districts have a variety of disadvantages, such as resources and money to improve schools and programs. These schools are located in lower socio economic communities. However, these disadvantaged students are judged on the same achievement standards as students who live in higher economic districts with better resources and tools. Latin Americans constitute the highest percentage of high school dropouts. 24 percent of Latin Americans dropped out of school in 2003 (Child Trends, 2003). I was too young to remember the German Shepherd mix my family owned when I was born, so my first love was the Basset Hound we adopted when I was in elementary school. She was a mess and I adored laying next to her on the floor as I read or watched tv or did homework. I used to come home from school and turn on Animal Planet every single day. My favorite shows were the Crocodile Hunter and Animal Cops. I enjoyed learning about new animals and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Business Environments And The Workplace Before Entering... I learned a lot of things this half year, although the most of them were negative. I found myself too vulnerable to suit the business environments and the workplace before entering this class. I was not brave to be the first one to express my opinions in front of others; I was weak at facing challenges, and I always felt nervous and difficult to handle them; I could not focus on one thing too long because I got distracted from a lot of temptation. The worst thing was: I hold my transcripts from undergraduate school and felt like I was ready to go to workplace and I was very sure about my believing; I did not recognized what my weakness were, and I always considered myself a good worker. In realty I was not that good enough to be a moderate worker. It is necessary for an accountant in today s public accounting companies to obtain different soft skills rather than only calculate numbers, and also important for him or her to update their knowledge in time to accommodate the clients needs and fulfill their objectives. I would say that the most important thing, rather than those negative sides of myself, is gaining a chance to get rid of my weakness in both hard and soft skills and grow to be stronger in mentality. Before stepping into the business world, I am studying on becoming a real businesswoman here in this class, and now I have changed and grow. For several times during the semester, I did review all my tasks and reflected on what I learned, which was very helpful and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Miracle Of Jesus Research Paper In Exodus 3:29, the Lord God called the nation of Israel a stiff necked people; thus considering Israel s obstinacy, and history of rejecting many of God s chosen, it becomes of no surprise that Israel would also reject Jesus. According to the New Testament Scriptures, Jesus performed many signs and wonders to authenticate being the Son of God and Israel s Messiah, however, and as recorded by the gospel writers Matthew and Mark (Matthew 12:22 37; Mark 3:20 30), Jesus miracle of casting a demon out of deaf and blind man was attributed to Beelzebub or Satan by the Pharisees (Pentecost, 1981). Hence, the miracle not only caused dismay amongst the Pharisees but the people who witnessed the miracle as well (Pentecost, 1981). Unfortunately, the people of Israel were taught through the law by the Pharisees that the sheep should follow the shepherd; therefore, the people of Israel were unwilling to accept Christ unless the Pharisees accepted Christ. Regrettably, the Pharisees as shepherds quickly convinced the sheep that the miracle performed in Matthew and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately for Israel, Jesus had other ideas about what constituted a relationship to the Messiah. Thus, in Matthew 12:46 50, it is recorded that Jesus rejected the idea of a blood relationship to the Messiah when Jesus refused to acknowledge the blood relationship that existed between Jesus and Jesus mother and brothers (Pentecost, 1981). Pointing to the disciples, Jesus Words indicated that any relationship to the Messiah must be spiritual and based on faith; furthermore, any relationship to the Messiah must also consist of wanting to do the Will of God (Pentecost, 1981). • 30. Taxi Driver Social Disorganization The film Taxi Driver, directed by Martin Scorsese, takes place in New York City during the 1970 s. The main character Travis Bickle, played by Robert De Niro, is a United States Marine returning home after serving his country. Taxi Driver appears to demonstrate the theory of Social Disorganization. The audience can see this throughout the film in scenes where Bickle is driving through the city. As the film continues Bickle appears to struggle with adjusting to such a large city and coping with his sanity. This film takes a look at how Social Disorganization along with a mental illness can contribute to someone s actions and behavior. Travis Bickle is an extremely complex individual. It appears Bickle s mental state is deteriorating after serving four years in the United States Marine Corps and seeing combat action in Vietnam. Bickle seems to be an insomniac unable to sleep at night, part of the reason why he wants to drive a taxi cab at night. Struggling to sleep, Bickle also consumes alcohol at various times of the day. Whenever Bickle is driving his taxi cab at night the audience can see prostitution, pimping, assault, robbery, and drug dealing. In the movie one can see that there are really no institutions exhorting their control over society. With a lack of control from institutions such as religion, politics, and school it allows crime to take over and become a societal norm. Bickle sees that crime is rampant within the city and refers to these individuals as scum. It is very apparent that social disorganization has especially taken hold of the inner city, or Zone of Transition, which is where most minorities reside and where most crime occurs. The Protagonists In The Last Of The Mohicans The characters in The Last of The Mohicans; specifically Hawkeye, Uncas, and Chingachgook, because these three protagonists remind me of the heros I remembered in video games and movies. • 34. Argumentative Essay On The American Nightmare The American Nightmare It s fair to say that the United States is a postcard for success and opportunity, but what s missing is the equal chance for every US citizen to be able to achieve the dream. In America, we base our accomplishments on the success and failure of others around us. We have created a society built upon status, and therefore taken the Dream and stamped an unrealistic American image all over it. There is no doubt that there is a dream, but the reality is that for many, it only will be a dream. The gap between wealth and poverty is growing exponentially every year, and the struggle to achieve the dream, is becoming more and more out of reach. According to the CPS, More than half of America s working age families with children under age eighteen (approximately 20.1 million families) have annual incomes of $60,000 or below and on the opposite end of this, less than 3% of families earn an income of $260,000 a year. The benefits of being in a higher class based on economic and social status, labels the American Dream as invalid, where only the wealthy elite can win. It would be favorable to say that You go as far as your dreams take you , or, You get out of the system as much as you put in . • 35. Two Approaches Of Leadership And Leadership Leaders throughout history have displayed many characteristics and traits which make them who they are, and influence the decisions they make. Whether or not the leader was born with these traits has never been scientifically proven. However, it is within human nature that we learn through trial and experience to improve our mental cognitive ability, and therefore leaders are, until proven otherwise, made not born. Whether a leader is born a leader, or made a leader is not relevant to the end result. What is relevant is if one of the two approaches of leadership produces a better leader. Leaders play a large role in society, and great leaders play a large role in history. Trying to hypothesise whether leaders are born or made is ironic, as by studying that topic, you are effectively helping to make future leaders. Leaders are crucial to the continuing development of the human race. Without leaders, the world would hardly change from when humans first inhabited it. Leaders inspire change, with goals and aims in place to further develop the human race. While not all leaders have the same ideology as others, they are still reaching to enhance the population. Leaders have been present throughout all history, and many have played a large role in how society operates today. Leaders usually show many similar characteristics to each other, and for this reason, many believe that a leader must have these same qualities or traits to be a successful leader. • 36. Participant Extent Activity It was hypothesized that intermittent exercise bouts are more effective than moderate continuous training, because participants will be able to exercise long and therefore, will have a greater work output. The main findings from this lab can be categorized into three sections, heart rate during exercise bout refer to figure 1. Total work over exercise type, refer to figure 2. Time to fatigue over exercise type, refer to figure 3. When looking at heart rate over time it was found that the participants were able to exercise for longer than when they exercised at a continuous pace. In the graph in compare to female students, Participant 1 is more trained in comparison to participant 2, and is therefore able to exercise longer and at a lower heart rate, so it takes more time for participant 1 to fatigue. We did not separate the trained from untrained and it is possible that fitness level could affect recovery time.
