Essay On Role Model
Writing an essay on the topic of a role model may initially seem like a straightforward task, but
as one delves deeper into the intricacies of the subject, the complexity becomes apparent.
Selecting a suitable role model is the first challenge, as it requires careful consideration of
personal values, aspirations, and the intended message of the essay. The difficulty intensifies
when attempting to articulate the qualities that make this individual worthy of emulation, as it
involves navigating a delicate balance between admiration and objectivity.
The challenge lies not only in describing the positive attributes but also in analyzing the impact
of these qualities on personal growth and development. It demands introspection to connect the
chosen role model's traits with one's own life experiences and ambitions. Crafting a coherent
narrative that seamlessly weaves personal anecdotes, reflections, and the broader significance of
the role model's influence is a formidable task that requires a nuanced understanding of both the
individual and oneself.
Moreover, maintaining a compelling and engaging writing style throughout the essay adds
another layer of complexity. Striking the right balance between factual information and creative
expression is crucial to captivate the reader's attention and convey the emotional depth of the
connection with the role model.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of a role model is a challenging endeavor that
demands careful consideration, self-reflection, and effective storytelling. The difficulty arises not
only from the intricacies of character analysis but also from the need to communicate the
personal impact of the chosen role model in a way that resonates with the audience.

Globalization And Its Impact On Socio Economy
Globalization and its Impact on Socio Economy in India
Dr. Mahendra Singh
Associate Professor
Department of Sociology
Madhav University, Pindwara (Rajasthan)
Abstract:
Globalization was adopted by Indian Government during 1990 91 when Indian
Economy was in a very bad shape. It was, however, adopted not as a solution to
deteriorating Indian economy but to enable itself to get further foreign exchange
loans from World Bank as its foreign exchange reserveswere reduced to mere 3
weeks outflow. To rectify its ailing financial health, Government simultaneously
decided to amend its economic policies and go for privatization liberalization of its
economy. These decisions had immediate positive effect. However, globalizationhas
proved to be a double edged weapon. It did help government temporarily meet its
emergent need of foreign exchange but it has, as a by product, caused some
permanent damage to Indian Economic system and Indian social structure.
Key Words: Privatization, Liberalization, current account deficits, disinvestment,
western culture.

For thousands of years, different countries have been doing trade with one another .
But the process has got a tremendous boost in last about two decades due to high

They practically forced underdeveloped countries to adopt full throttle globalization

Advantages And Challenges Of Internet Of Things
INTRODUCTION:
The term Internet of Things was proposed by Kevin Ashton in 1999, it is a concept
originally introduced by MIT. In simple words Internet of Things is about physical
items talking to each other.
Internet of things (IOT) can be defined as a computing concept where every day
physical objects are connected to the Internet and are able to identify themselves to
other devices. It is an integrated relationship between generic objects and the virtual
world in which both can communicate and exchange data and information. It keeps
the objects interconnected, which can be identified by some assigned codes, names,
locations, shapes or addresses. Internet of things describes a world where just about
anything can be connected or communicated in an intelligent fashion. Or we can say
that with IOT, the physical world is changing into a big ... Show more content on

All the above mentioned advantages will take the business world to a completely
different level.
CHALLENGES FOR THE MANAGEMENT
Internet of Things brings a lot of complexity with itself. Businesses encounter
multiple of barriers to adoption. Below are certain challenges which businesses face
while implementing IOT.
Complexity, Confusion and Integration Issues: Internet of things involves large
number of APIs, numerous protocols and multiple platforms making the procedures
complexed and confusing. The confusion around evolving standards is almost sure to
slow adoption. Slower adoption and unanticipated development resource
requirements will likely slip schedules and slow time to revenues, which will require
additional funding for IOT projects and longer runways for startups. This is the
biggest challenge faced by businesses.
Trust and privacy: As IOT involves remote sensors, there is heightened sensitivity to
controlling access and ownership of data. Compliance is the major challenge for
businesses, Social and political concerns in this area also hinder IOT
Chronicle Of A Death Foretold By Gabriel Garcia Marquez
The presenter s conveyed the importance of magical realism, machismo, and
inspiration of the creation of the novel Chronicle of a Death Foretold written by
Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Marquez uses magical realism to structure his novel s
background. Magical realism is a Latin American narrative strategy that combines
magical/mythic and real life elements in order to create a realistic atmosphere.
Magical realism helps the novelblend both reality and fantasy. An example of
magical realism presented in the book was when Pedro says that his groin pain
reached his throat, causing him to not sleep for 11 months (80). This is magical
realism because groin pain exists, but the lack of sleep for 11 months straight is not
authentic. Magical realism
Essay Comparing Two Open Universities
Comparing two Open Universities within the Common Wealth:
Athabasca University and the Allama Iqbal Open University at Islamabad
When the Open University of the United Kingdom (OU UK) opened its doors in
1969 it was considered a revolution in higher education by many pedagogues. In the
forty years that followed 80 similar higher open education institutes were
established (Peters, O. 2010, p57 81). The common denominator of this new
generation of distance universities is that they are open. During the OU UK
inauguration Lord Crowther stated: We are open as to people ; as to places ; as to
methods ; and finally to ideas (cf. Tunstall 1974, in Peters, O. 2010, p 62). What this
openness entails, depends largely on the social, economic, and political circumstances
in the country in which an open university is founded. Two former British colonies

to have a small student population and focused on liberal arts (Byrne 1989). When
it was founded, there were 3 more public universities in Alberta. There seemed to
be room for a fourth university as the discovery of oil fields had resulted in a
significant growth of both economy and population. Against expectations enrollment
remained low and the government of Alberta decided to reform the UA into an
online university as a pilot project (Byrne 1989). The pilot was started in 1972 and
would run up to five years. It would be considered successful if enrolments would
substantially increase or if it would attract students that otherwise would not have
enrolled themselves in a university (Byrne, 1989). It was so successful that UA
outgrew its first campus and was moved from Edmonton to Alberta in 1984

The school finally finished, but I still didn t go home. As one of the school outcast.
Nobody cares. I went out to the football field. And got my ball from my bag. It s
always been my dream to play in a football team. Just like my dad. Well atleast that
s what my mom said. I never met my dad, he was a soldier in the navy. So I never
met him. I looked at the field, beautiful as usual. I placed my ball down, and kicked
it around. I stood right in front of the goal post, and kicked the ball as strong as I
could. Without a goalkeeper of course I shot it. But I would be nothing if there was
a goalkeeper. I never joined the football team, because we couldn t afford it. I only
got in the school because the owner used to be my dad s friend. So when he heard
about my dad, he let me study there.
I went home walking. It was just a short 1 kilometer walk. I came home, and saw my
mom on the chair. She was sitting there hasn t moved, ever since my dad died. She

her and did my assignments. After that I helped her to the bed. She couldn t move
without my help. Her mind was focused, on the way my dad died.
The next day, I went to school earlier than usual. I needed to watch the football

Most Popular Symphonic Orchestra Music In The World

DvoЕ™ГЎk (1841 1904) in 1893, Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, Op. 95: From the
New World is one of the most popular symphonic orchestra music in the world.
Including Symphony No. 9, many of his musical works as a composer were created
in the romantic period. This musicconsist of four movements and the total duration
time of the music is about forty minutes. Each movement has different characteristic,
but I will focus on the first movement, which is known as Adagio Allegro molto, in
this research. Herbert von Karajan conducted the orchestraI posted on EDpuzzle. In
general, music instruments which an orchestra use for this music are two flutes (2nd
doubling piccolo), two oboes and English horn, two clarinets, two bassoons, four
horns, two trumpets, three trombones, tuba, timpani, triangle, cymbals, and strings.
In the early stage of the movement, loud minor sounds of string and woodwind
instruments created feelings of magnificence and anxiety at the same time. In the
midway of the movement, the orchestra played the combination or alternate of minor
and some gentle major melodies. Therefore, the mood of this music frequently
changes: powerful and impressive minor sounds and warm major sound.... Show

Essay on Season of Migration to the North by Tayeb Salih
Written by Tayeb Salih, the novel Season of Migration to the North as described by
The Observer is an Arabian Nights in reverse, enclosing a pithy moral about
international misconceptions and delusions. The novel is set both in England and the
Sudan, showing the stark social differences within these two locations. In this essay, I
will evaluate the reasons supporting and opposing Mahjoub s statement as defined in
Season of Migration to the North .
In the first line of the novel (and once more later in the book: dear sirs page 62), the
narrator introduces the reader to a male dominated world by suggesting his audience
is masculine;

As a result of her inability to bear a child, Bint Majzoub was able to freely converse
with the men of the village.
The notion that women belong to men, is a statement indicative of a female s
vulnerability. At many times within the novel, the idea that women are weak and
feeble creatures is portrayed,
I imagined Hosna Bint Mahmoud...being the same woman...wide open thighs. And I
pictured Hosna Bint Mahmoud... a woman in her thirties, weeping...
Both quotes show the reader how the narrator viewed women as meagre creatures.
With the power of thought, the narrator could have believed that Hosna Bint
Mahmoud, a woman in her thirties, could have overpowered an old man, but due to
his conditioning as a member of a tremendously patriarchal society, he pictures the
worst and imagines
Hosna Bint Mahmoud in a vulnerable position, performing a most feeble action that
is crying.
Pages 86 and 87 refer twice to Hosna Bint Mahmoud, but each time the narrator uses
the same reference,

Use Of Hydrogen Fuel Cells Is Better Than The Use Of...
A lot of people in our society have been questioning whether the use of hydrogen
fuel cells is better than the use of fossil fuels. Each of the two differs from the other
massively. They are made in different ways, have different outcomes, advantages and
disadvantages, so in order to consider which of the two should be promoted all of the
things mentioned should be first analysed.
Fossil fuels are defined as hydrocarbons primarily coal, fuel oil or natural gas, which
is formed from the remains of dead plants and animals. When these fuels are burnt,
the energy released can be harnessed to produce electricity. Fossil fuels are the most
popular form of energy as they have very low ignition temperature. All fossil fuels
undergo through the process of combustion. Combustion necessarily requires oxygen.
All the reactions are exothermic in nature which therefore means they give out heat
and sometimes light. The constituent hydrogen and oxygen react with each other
chemically and produce high amount of heat and energy. Different fossil fuels burn
at different rates because the structures of the hydrocarbons are different in each of
these compounds. However, one common by product of each of these fossil fuel is
carbon dioxide.
The combustion of fossil fuels can be shown by an example of a simple combustion
reaction for methane. The combustion of methane means that it is possible to burn it.
Chemically, this combustion process consists of a reaction between methane and
oxygen in
Technology And The World s Political Climate Forced The...
The United States has lead the way in transforming technology and changing the
conduct of war over the past sixty five years; working to create a safer, more stable
and prosperous world for America, our allies, and partners abroad. However,
modern warfare is evolving rapidly, leading to increasingly contested battlespace in
the air, sea, and space domains as well as cyberspace in which our forces enjoyed
dominance in our most recent conflicts. Changes in warfare and the world s political
climate forced the United Statesto change their strategic focus and redefine their
outlook for the future; based on new technologies, new centers of power, and a world
that is growing more volatile, more unpredictable, and in some instances more
threatening to the United States.
In March of 2014 the Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) revised the DOD strategy
to align with current threats and budgetary constraints. The QDR started by listing
the three pillars of strategic focus. The first pillar is protecting the homeland. The
need to concentrate on homeland protection is increasing in importance due to
amplified threats, and preparing for catastrophes; natural disaster relief is part of
homeland protection. The second pillar is global security; deterring conflicts before
they begin while strengthening our partnerships around the globe. The third pillar is
projecting power and winning decisively; whether that s to be able to respond to
conflict, or whether it s to come to the aid

of Hip Hip HooWray Events and Designs. This business consists of a variety of wood
designs which are sketched and painted to the customers satisfaction. A typical day in
the studio begins with scheduled and unscheduled events, such as private parties,
Open Studio, and offsite events. Choosing to shadowmy mother was an easy decision
because of how dedicated she is to her business. During my time shadowing her, I

There are rarely any complications at the studio because she is always there, but
this results in the loss of family time. There have been Saturday s when I have had
a softball tournament and my Mother was not able to go, because the studio was
going to be busy and she had to be there for the day to run on schedule. Running the
studio comes with many complications. On a daily basis there are problems to be
solved. How Gidget handles these problems are very impressive. In the end the
customer is always pleased. When a customer is unhappy, for me it would very
hard to figure out a way to please them and not have a problem with the studio still
running on schedule, but for my Mother it is no problem. I think it is easy for my
Mother to please a customer in a tough situation because she has always told me It is
never too late to be nice to someone. This quote to me means that no matter how
upset that customer is you can always figure out a way to please them. My
experience really helped me understand the quote from Atticus Finch You never really
understand a person until you consider things from his point of view until you climb
into his skin and walk around in it. When I first read the quote I thought I understood
it, but after spending this time with her discussing and evaluating the way she thinks
and works, it dawned on me how hard it was the be not only a business owner, but a

Compare And Contrast Fish And Gas Exchange Systems
Gas exchange in mammals and bony fish
There are many similarities and differences in the gas exchange systems of mammals
and bony fish, due to the way they have adapted to fit their particular environments.
For example, one way in which their systems differ is in the way they work. Fish
use gill irrigation, which is more efficient than the mammal s system of tidal
ventilation. The system must be more efficient due to the viscosity of water, as well
as the lower oxygen concentration, which makes it more difficult to ventilate than
air. Gill irrigation causes a unidirectional flow, as when they open their mouths water
flows in, and when they close them the pressure increases and the water is forced
over the gills and out of the operculum. The
Animal Symbols Used In The Odyssey
Symbols, not the musical instrument, but the pieces of literature that stand for
something much greater. A normal dog may not just be a man s best friend, but
maybe the dog symbolizes the loyalty of one man and his city. Or maybe a small
town in Greece isn t just a place with ocean front property, but maybe it symbolizes
home. A place where you feel safe and powerful, however with that comes danger.
Enemies lurking around on every corner trying to steal what is righteously yours.
These normal everyday topics can be applied to the story of the Odyssey where
everything has a purpose. The numerous symbols used in the Odyssey, such as the
city of Ithaca, Argos the dog, and the sea help enhance the story by giving the
audience insight on Greek Society.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Argos was Odysseus hunting dog and was extremely loyal to him. Odysseus
breeded Argos himself and grew very close to him as they grew up. Unfortunately
the Trojan War occured and Odysseus was forced to fight, leaving Argos behind.
The story goes on and Odysseus gets lost out at sea and doesn t come back to his
home (Ithaca) for another twenty years. Now that s a long time especially in dog
years (around 130 years). However Odysseus arrival to Ithaca was discreet, partly
because he was disguised as a beggar. The loyalty that Argos shows can be seen
when no one can recognize Odysseus because of his disguise, the only exception
is Argos the dog. Argos is able to smell Odysseus and recognize him through his
scent. Even after twenty years, Argos still remembers Odysseus and shows what
true loyalty looks like. The following quote shows Argos recognizing his master,
When he knew that is was his old master near him, he wagged his tail and dropped
both ears; but he could not move to approach him. Odysseus saw, and secretly
wiped a tear from his eye so that Eumaeus did not notice... (Homer, 197) Notice
here Argos is unable to get up and greet his master. This isn t because Argos is shy,
but Argos is incredibly old and on top of that he has been malnourished throughout
the years. The city of Ithaca has been in panic with Odysseus being lost and now
with all the suitors in the palace no one is thinking about the small things such as the
dog
Film And Photography Research Paper
Film and Photography
Film and Photography has changed dramatically over the decades, from the
camera obscura, pinhole, lomography and now we are at an age where almost
everybody in the world has the means to make films and photographs in their
pockets. Since the means of making filmic and photographic art are still so readily
available, the rarity and uniqueness of the media has been greatly diluted. This
makes it harder for artists to establish themselves, on the other hand this also means ;
because there is more competition that art pieces are becoming more and more
exceptional. I will be looking at how this affects modern art and whether or not I
believe this art form has attributed to it.
Although it is argued the use of photographs are not as diligent as traditional art
forms such as painting or sculpting, it has opened up a whole new breed of art; which
documents and captures, instantaneous fleeting moments . Photography gives a take
on perspective that cannot be captured by hand and because of digitalised nature of
the media, allows the photographer or film maker an almost unlimited amount of
versatility through editing. Francis Firth called the use of photography an attribute I
very much agree with him. The use of photography has been a prominently useful
tool throughout history, many artists used photographs to capture a scene or portrait
to be draw or painted later thus extending their time scale. I have used photography
and film in my own work. I find

Introduction
Guilt is a raw instinctive emotion of the human nature. Is there a general way through
human beings and all other forms of life would be distinguished from one another.
Both humans and other forms of life on earth have the element of life, the element of
survival. Through feeding and excretion they are both similar. In almost every aspect
of life for both human and other forms of life, they are identical to each other. If for
example, both did not feed, their fate would be equally the same. Through the theory
of evolution of man, it is argued that he evolved from the most basic form of life
and over the years evolved in what he is today, a prime being, at the top of the list.
But what differentiates the two apart. Intellectuality and the ability to use reason is
the very fundamental difference between human beings and other forms of life.
Having intellect means the ability to use reason to make decisions and choices. There
however, is a difference between choices. Choices could either be voluntary or
involuntary. Actions that are made through involuntary choices could be termed as
the raw instincts elements of man, some of which could probably be compared to
those of animals and other living organisms. On the other hand, there are actions that
are based on voluntary choices, actions that an individual knows their consequence
but goes on to do them.
Take for example, a little child not more than 5 years, meaning that his

The Success of Learning Organisations Is Predicated on...
The success of learning organisations is predicated on particular internal
organisational relationships and particular relationships between the organisation and
its environment. Discuss.
The only long term sustained competitive advantage for an organisation came from
the ability of its people to learn faster than those in other organisations and to change
the nature of the organisation to match the changes in the environment. For an
organisation to be considered to be learning, it must contain certain characteristics
and operate in certain environment to do so. How the organisation learns will depend
on the interaction between individuals within the organisation and the interaction
between the organisation and its external ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Open two way communication is encouraged; this will create a climate for learning
where learning is facilitated both mentally, by encouraging experimentation and allow
mistakes. Open planned physical space is desired, because this will help to create an
environment which encourages more interaction between employees and the effect of
hierarchy will also be minimised. For an organisation to have learning characteristics,
it ll have to rely on the functioning of internal organisational relationships and how
the organisation interacts with its external environment. Internal organisational
relationships have a big impact on how an organisation can transform into a learning
organisation. Most organisations in today s society tend to be more modernist in
terms of its social structure. They make use of the hierarchical structure, the high level
of formalization, centralized decision making and vertical communication in the form
of instructions. This type of mechanistic structure produces predictability and
accountability, but it restrains the level of flexibility, adaptability and the innovation
of the organisations. For an organisation to have learning characteristics, an organic
social structure is favoured over the mechanistic social structure. Organic forms,
characterised as informal, decentralised and requiring high degree of coordination
across departments, are more likely to be innovative and to grant greater discretion to
employees

Honolulu Harbor Medical Clinic Executive Summary
A significant volunteer experience that augmented my leadership skills and
expanded my understanding of medicine was at the Honolulu Harbor Medical Clinic
sponsored by the Seafarer s Ministry. The Seafarer s Ministry provides spiritual,
emotional, and social support for the undocumented foreign fishermen docked at
Honolulu Harbor. The clinic began with few volunteers and two doctors who
provided medical care to undocumented foreign fishermen from a box of supplies out
of a truck. This expanded my capacity to understanding, to humbly accept
circumstances and encouraged me to practice medicinewith culturally sensitivity.
As a volunteer, I scribed, organized the stock medications, and mentored incoming
volunteers on the clinic processes. With
Target Strategy For Target Corporation
Target has been a successful retail company coming in 2nd place behind Wal Mart.
Although these successes come in many forms, there are factors that deter Target
from ever reaching first place. Target Corporation has run into a few weaknesses in
the recent years. These weaknesses that Target are facing can impact their future
goals. They include lawsuits that Target is facing with the recent events and not
having an international presence. Even though Target is ranked currently 36 in
the fortune 500 companies and have over 1750 stores, they are still very
susceptible to being a victim of a cyber attack. In 2013, Target fell victim to a
security breach on their system. Roughly around Thanksgiving of 2013, someone
had installed malware in Target s security and payment system enabling the hackers
to steal credit card and personal information. Six months earlier the company began
installing a $1.6 million malware detection tool made by the computer security firm
FireEye, whose customers also include the CIA and the Pentagon.
(BloombergBusiness) In place was a very effective security system. However, when
the attacked happen on November 30, FireEye spotted the hackers and Bangalore (a
third party cyber security company hired by Target) that alerted the IT team at
corporate office in Minneapolis. There was no response from Target s Corporate IT
team and therefore led to 40 million credit card numbers and 70 million addresses,

Structuralist Disposition Of Foucault The Works Of Derrida
structuralist disposition of Foucault. The works of Derrida encourage us to consider
the condition of strategies that ultimately refers to a radical exteriority something
remaining outside to power and authority. This analysis of the outside acts as the
catalyst to resist any form of authority without re affirming or confirming to the
structure of authority that attempts to displace. Christopher Norris defines
deconstructionas a series of moves, which involve the disassembling of opposition
and hierarchies and revealing aporias and elements of self contradiction. (Norris,
Chritopher in Derrida (London: Fontana Press, 1987), p. 19). So, deconstruction is
conceptualized as a strategy of raising questions about philosophies claim to
reflexive self identity. In introducing the concept of supplement , Derrida writes it
is not any less remarkable that the so called living discourse should suddenly be
described by a metaphor borrowed from the order of the very thing one is trying to
exclude from it . (Derrida, Jacques in Dissemination, trans. Barbara Johnson ,
Chicago, IL: University of Chicago Press, 1981, p. 148). In that sense, speech is
dependent on the writing that it tends to exclude ultimately leading to writing as the
logic of supplementarity ; a supplement is necessarily excluded by the presence but
is also in indispensable for the formation of its identity. This unearthing of the logic of
supplementarity is considered to be a deconstructive move adopted

Da Jiang Innovations Science and Technology Co., Ltd. DJI Drones have always
been accessible to the military, but in recent years they have become more
accessible to the public. Before there was a giant manufacture of them, hobbyists
made them for their entertainment. Enter Frank Wang, now CEO of DJI, he was a
college student with a passion of making these drones. It started as a hobby for
him only to turn into a business, he started making them for the film industry as
they needed drones to fly the cameras to get aerial footage. Fast forward 10 years
and his company owns eighty percent of the drone market. Although they maybe
dominating in their field, the company still has many issues that need to be fixed
including, waste areas and supply chain constraints. To expand on their problems,
we must first know what is their primary product and who is their target. DJI is
known for making consumer drones, not just regular hover aircrafts but aircrafts
with the ability to capture 4k video and pictures. Their Phantom series drove
1billion in sales for the 2015 year, they are currently in the fourth iteration of the
product (Phantom 4). On September 27th, 2016 DJI announced their newest drone,
The Mavic Pro, the best compact drone in the market. This drone incorporates the
same features as the Phantom 4, while being able to fold its wings in. This is what
caused the biggest areas of waste in the company. 7 Waste Areas The Seven areas of

learners As a teacher and trainer I have found that one of the simplest ways to
make learning accessible to both myself and to those I am teaching is by relating
to real life situations and circumstances that I have faced. If one takes the approach
of trying to memorise lists of facts of how to deal with First Aid situations the
information becomes more difficult to absorb and less likely to be retained.
Context can help provide a more intuitive framework for people s skills, whether it
is as simple as telling a story that can be recalled if and when relevant or even if it
delves deeply enough to understand why certain techniques are used in First Aid...

All literature for the course can be checked beforehand (if necessary) to confirm
the level of literacy. Basic numeracy skills are essential to any professional career,
though having a calculator on hand can assist if a trainer does come into
numerical difficulty. People skills are really the most important and pressing skills
to have as a teacher and I would suggest that a degree of psychological
understanding is implied within the definition of being a teacher/trainer. There is
however, a big difference between a nervous student and one with a medical
condition that needs more specialised help and in extreme cases referral to a
medical professional would be required. Mentoring and being a role model is
equally implicit and should extend to all values of being a human being and not
just those related to First Aid. I believe that, in this regard, there can not be any real
boundary to how a teacher/trainer can act. List and describe the points of referral to
meet the needs of the learners There should be no need to signpost learners to
someone with greater knowledge of First Aid, nor should there be another trainer
with more appropriate teaching style, as different teaching styles can be used by
anyone. If someone is struggling with a language barrier that seems insurmountable,
a trainer can recommend a different teacher who may be better able to communicate
with a learner (perhaps in a different language, by signing for a deaf student etc.)

Every night, the Night Gardener would collect a small piece of anyone s soul who
wished from the tree. He then used the souls to feed the tree. Eventually, the Night
Gardener kills his victims and buries them near the tree. Dr. Crouch, who was
helping the Mistress Windsor when she was extremely ill, tried to capture the Night
Gardener, which accidentally captures Hester Kettle, who was coming to cut down
the tree. Dr. Crouch is killed by the Night Gardener for attempting to capture him,
while Molly, Kip, and Hester flee. Hester, who was injured when accidentally
captured, gives Molly and Kip her belongings before she dies.
After night passes, Molly and Kip return to the Windsors and convince them to
leave. After the Night Gardener tries to kill them, Molly and Master Windsor set
fire to the tree, which was the life source of the Night Gardener. As the manor and
tree burn to the ground, the Night Gardener dies. Locals from the town many miles
away notice the fire and bring the Windsors food, water, and supplies. Molly and

School Lunches In Schools Essay
Completely preventable health issues those that involve food intake are perceived as
being an epidemic in the United States by many. Unfortunately, it has plagued many
school aged children across the country, and these rates continue to climb as time
goes on. A factor of this climb is not merely foodintake at home, but largely food
intake during schoolhours/in schools settings. As of today, there are 31 million
students in varying homes taking advantage of school lunches; it is vital that schools
provide quality lunches for students and increase the amount of healthy options, as
many childhood diseases are directly correlated with unhealthy eating and students in
poverty rely on these meals for proper nutrients and lifelong health.

By expanding the number of these schools, it is speculated that childhood obesity
levels in the United States would drop significantly from the 30% it is today
(Cooper, 2010). By doing so, the future generation of the United States would also be
less likely to contract other diseases later on in life, like diabetes and hypertension
(Union of Concerned Scientists, 2016). Schools that exceeded the USDA s nutritional
standards were 12.3% less likely to have obese students, while school that did not
meet these guidelines were twice as likely. Additionally, states that had more strict
meal standards and assisted meal plans were home to lighter students. (Sifferlin,
2013). Although many claim that stricter lunch standards would lower the number of
students participating in these programs (due to less appealing meals, for example),
studies have shown that these numbers have not changed, and the number of students
participating in the National School Lunch Program is still near 31 million (Sifferlin,

numerous factors to consider, from the budget, to the maintenance and convenience
of each flooring solutions. Before your make a decision, it is important to be aware
of the pros and cons of each type of floor and to choose something that suits your
particular needs.
Hardwood floors
This is probably the most desired flooring solution. It has a luxurious appearance, it
is very durable and it adds warmth and comfort to any home. They are also easy to
clean, and they can be refined numerous times to look as good as new. On the
downside, hardwood floors are difficult to install and they can be very expensive.

However, they can also be great for kitchens, bathrooms and even living rooms.
Epoxy floors come in different colors and designs, they are incredibly durable, and
due to their glossy finish, they are great for brightening dark rooms. Their main
downside is the installation process which is very complicated and requires
professional equipment. For a perfect installation, we advise you to turn to
Treadwell, the most reputable Kansas City Epoxy Flooring company. They have a
wide experience with this type of floors and can work with you to deliver the best
flooring for your needs.
Laminate flooring
This is one of the most affordable flooring solutions. Modern laminate floors do a
very decent job at imitating wood. Moreover, unlike hardwood, they are less
susceptible to dents, and they are also incredibly easy to install. However, they
cannot be refurbished, so in case of damage, they need to be replaced altogether.
Vinyl
Vinyl is by far the cheapest flooring solution. Depending on its design, it can
sometimes look very good. It is also easy to install, easy to clean and water resistant.
On the downside, it isn t very durable and due to the fact that it contains a lot of
synthetic materials, it can emit VOCs from time to
Erving Goffman s Forms Of Talk
Erving Goffman was born on June 11, 1922 in Manville, Alberta Canada. His
parents were Ukrainian Jews whom joined the great influx of Russians into Canada,
prior to the turn of the century. His family moved to Dauphin, in Manitoba Canada
where his father was the owner of a fairly, successful tailoring business.
After Goffman completed three years in high school in Winnipeg, due to his
academics exceeding he could enroll as a student at the University of Manitoba,
chemistry was his major. During the first year of World War II he dropped out of
school to move back to Ottawa, where he began to work for the National Film

I Saw It On Mulberry Street Conflict Analysis
And to think that I saw it on Mulberry Street Everyday Marco s father asks him to

Violating Cultural Norms
It was really difficult for me initially to select a norm I wanted to violate. I just
couldn t come up with anything even after hearing examples in class. And naturally, I
hate being the center of attention or doing anything that will get me noticed, but I
knew that I ll have to get over that to be able to complete this assignment. What is a
norm? According to sociology.about.com, a norm is the specific cultural
expectations for how to behave in a given situation. Norms vary across countries or
cultural groups. For example, in our society giving a thumbs up is just a gesture
that signifies approval or satisfaction but if I was to give the same gesture in the
Middle East, I would probably get dirty looks because it is considered offensive there.

I chose this because I believe that the way we choose to dress or style ourselves is a
reflection of who we are. People use fashion as a tool or medium to express who they
are, it might be motivated by religion, culture, location, demographic factors like
ethnicity, or even political stance. In our society today, we have the freedom to
dress however that pleases us. But, there are some ways of dressing that are not
considered normal or appropriate especially depending on the season, time of year, or
the occasion. The way we choose to dress influences how others perceive us. For
instance, if an individual wears a suit, people see him/her as a successful person or a
professional because suit is a part of the professional world or as some people say, a
suit is the uniform of success. For my norm violation, I went to a gathering filled
with family and friends in summer clothes last weekend. I told only my brother that
it was for a class I was taking. I had my coat and sweat pants in the car to wear
afterwards so that I didn t get sick. I remember before I left the house, my mother
pleaded with me to cover up more but I refused. I told her I was okay with the way I
was dressed. She tried to get me to change but I did not listen, I insisted on going to
the gathering the way I was dressed. I could already imagine the reactions of people
even before I did it. I believed people were definitely going to stare at me, some might
laugh at me, some might feel worried for me, and others might just have a look of
shock or disbelief on their
The Importance Of Student Athletes
Many critics stereotype athletes to be these young cocky jocks who only care about
how they look physically and the big game that night. But clearly in today s society
student athletes are making a strong effort to destroy that reputation. By athletes
getting involved in the school s campus life as well at the community, they are
showing that their lives aren t all about sports. NBC News writer, Lisa Heffernan,
shows just exactly how students are becoming involved in the school in her recent
article titled CollegeAthletes Find Success in College and the Workplace . She
writes Athletes were more likely than non athletes to say that they had a professor
who cared about them as a person and were more involved with campus clubs and
organizations. (Heffernan). It is very important for an athlete to become close
with a teacher or professor, because being an athlete means road games and
possibly missing class which is never easy to do. Another statistic Lisa Heffernan
points out, is that sports kept students in school and at one school for all four
years. Statistics show that Despite the time demands of playing for a team, athletes
were highly engaged in campus life. They were far less likely to transfer (39% vs.
22%)... (Heffernan). A school s mission should be to better their students and want
them to stay at school for all four years. One way this is possible is by motivating
students to participate in sports as well as clubs and organizations.

Essay On Role Model

  • 1. Essay On Role Model Writing an essay on the topic of a role model may initially seem like a straightforward task, but as one delves deeper into the intricacies of the subject, the complexity becomes apparent. Selecting a suitable role model is the first challenge, as it requires careful consideration of personal values, aspirations, and the intended message of the essay. The difficulty intensifies when attempting to articulate the qualities that make this individual worthy of emulation, as it involves navigating a delicate balance between admiration and objectivity. The challenge lies not only in describing the positive attributes but also in analyzing the impact of these qualities on personal growth and development. It demands introspection to connect the chosen role model's traits with one's own life experiences and ambitions. Crafting a coherent narrative that seamlessly weaves personal anecdotes, reflections, and the broader significance of the role model's influence is a formidable task that requires a nuanced understanding of both the individual and oneself. Moreover, maintaining a compelling and engaging writing style throughout the essay adds another layer of complexity. Striking the right balance between factual information and creative expression is crucial to captivate the reader's attention and convey the emotional depth of the connection with the role model. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of a role model is a challenging endeavor that demands careful consideration, self-reflection, and effective storytelling. The difficulty arises not only from the intricacies of character analysis but also from the need to communicate the personal impact of the chosen role model in a way that resonates with the audience. Professional writing services, such asHelpWriting.net, offer the option to order essays on various topics, providing expertly crafted content tailored to your specific requirements. • 2. Globalization And Its Impact On Socio Economy Globalization and its Impact on Socio Economy in India Dr. Mahendra Singh Associate Professor Department of Sociology Madhav University, Pindwara (Rajasthan) Abstract: Globalization was adopted by Indian Government during 1990 91 when Indian Economy was in a very bad shape. It was, however, adopted not as a solution to deteriorating Indian economy but to enable itself to get further foreign exchange loans from World Bank as its foreign exchange reserveswere reduced to mere 3 weeks outflow. To rectify its ailing financial health, Government simultaneously decided to amend its economic policies and go for privatization liberalization of its economy. These decisions had immediate positive effect. However, globalizationhas proved to be a double edged weapon. It did help government temporarily meet its emergent need of foreign exchange but it has, as a by product, caused some permanent damage to Indian Economic system and Indian social structure. Key Words: Privatization, Liberalization, current account deficits, disinvestment, western culture. INTRODUCTION For thousands of years, different countries have been doing trade with one another . But the process has got a tremendous boost in last about two decades due to high handed policies of International Monetary Fund, world bank and world trade organization who have been working on the agenda of developed countries like USA. They practically forced underdeveloped countries to adopt full throttle globalization by opening

  • 4. Chronicle Of A Death Foretold By Gabriel Garcia Marquez The presenter s conveyed the importance of magical realism, machismo, and inspiration of the creation of the novel Chronicle of a Death Foretold written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Marquez uses magical realism to structure his novel s background. Magical realism is a Latin American narrative strategy that combines magical/mythic and real life elements in order to create a realistic atmosphere. Magical realism helps the novelblend both reality and fantasy. An example of magical realism presented in the book was when Pedro says that his groin pain reached his throat, causing him to not sleep for 11 months (80). This is magical realism because groin pain exists, but the lack of sleep for 11 months straight is not authentic. Magical realism

Essay Comparing Two Open Universities Comparing two Open Universities within the Common Wealth: Athabasca University and the Allama Iqbal Open University at Islamabad When the Open University of the United Kingdom (OU UK) opened its doors in 1969 it was considered a revolution in higher education by many pedagogues. In the forty years that followed 80 similar higher open education institutes were established (Peters, O. 2010, p57 81). The common denominator of this new generation of distance universities is that they are open. During the OU UK inauguration Lord Crowther stated: We are open as to people ; as to places ; as to methods ; and finally to ideas (cf. Tunstall 1974, in Peters, O. 2010, p 62). What this openness entails, depends largely on the social, economic, and political circumstances in the country in which an open university is founded. There seemed to be room for a fourth university as the discovery of oil fields had resulted in a significant growth of both economy and population. Against expectations enrollment remained low and the government of Alberta decided to reform the UA into an online university as a pilot project (Byrne 1989). The pilot was started in 1972 and would run up to five years. It would be considered successful if enrolments would substantially increase or if it would attract students that otherwise would not have enrolled themselves in a university (Byrne, 1989). It was so successful that UA outgrew its first campus and was moved from Edmonton to Alberta in 1984

It s always been my dream to play in a football team. Just like my dad. Well atleast that s what my mom said. I never met my dad, he was a soldier in the navy. So I never met him. I looked at the field, beautiful as usual. I placed my ball down, and kicked it around. I stood right in front of the goal post, and kicked the ball as strong as I could. Without a goalkeeper of course I shot it. But I would be nothing if there was a goalkeeper. I never joined the football team, because we couldn t afford it. I only got in the school because the owner used to be my dad s friend. So when he heard about my dad, he let me study there. I went home walking. It was just a short 1 kilometer walk. I came home, and saw my mom on the chair. She was sitting there hasn t moved, ever since my dad died. She s been traumatized since he died. I gave her a kiss on the cheek. I sat down next to her and did my assignments. After that I helped her to the bed. She couldn t move without my help. Her mind was focused, on the way my dad died. The next day, I went to school earlier than usual. I needed to watch the football team, practice for the game. I imagined myself playing in that field. Everybody would love me. Essay on Season of Migration to the North by Tayeb Salih Written by Tayeb Salih, the novel Season of Migration to the North as described by The Observer is an Arabian Nights in reverse, enclosing a pithy moral about international misconceptions and delusions. The novel is set both in England and the Sudan, showing the stark social differences within these two locations. In this essay, I will evaluate the reasons supporting and opposing Mahjoub s statement as defined in Season of Migration to the North . In the first line of the novel (and once more later in the book: dear sirs page 62), the narrator introduces the reader to a male dominated world by suggesting his audience is masculine; It was, gentlemen, after a long absence seven years, to be exact, during which time I was ... At many times within the novel, the idea that women are weak and feeble creatures is portrayed, I imagined Hosna Bint Mahmoud...being the same woman...wide open thighs. And I pictured Hosna Bint Mahmoud... a woman in her thirties, weeping... Both quotes show the reader how the narrator viewed women as meagre creatures. With the power of thought, the narrator could have believed that Hosna Bint Mahmoud, a woman in her thirties, could have overpowered an old man, but due to his conditioning as a member of a tremendously patriarchal society, he pictures the worst and imagines Hosna Bint Mahmoud in a vulnerable position, performing a most feeble action that is crying. • 11. Use Of Hydrogen Fuel Cells Is Better Than The Use Of... A lot of people in our society have been questioning whether the use of hydrogen fuel cells is better than the use of fossil fuels. Each of the two differs from the other massively. They are made in different ways, have different outcomes, advantages and disadvantages, so in order to consider which of the two should be promoted all of the things mentioned should be first analysed. Fossil fuels are defined as hydrocarbons primarily coal, fuel oil or natural gas, which is formed from the remains of dead plants and animals. When these fuels are burnt, the energy released can be harnessed to produce electricity. Fossil fuels are the most popular form of energy as they have very low ignition temperature. All fossil fuels undergo through the process of combustion. Combustion necessarily requires oxygen. All the reactions are exothermic in nature which therefore means they give out heat and sometimes light. The constituent hydrogen and oxygen react with each other chemically and produce high amount of heat and energy. Different fossil fuels burn at different rates because the structures of the hydrocarbons are different in each of these compounds. However, one common by product of each of these fossil fuel is carbon dioxide. The combustion of fossil fuels can be shown by an example of a simple combustion reaction for methane. The combustion of methane means that it is possible to burn it. Chemically, this combustion process consists of a reaction between methane and oxygen in
  • 12. Technology And The World s Political Climate Forced The... The United States has lead the way in transforming technology and changing the conduct of war over the past sixty five years; working to create a safer, more stable and prosperous world for America, our allies, and partners abroad. However, modern warfare is evolving rapidly, leading to increasingly contested battlespace in the air, sea, and space domains as well as cyberspace in which our forces enjoyed dominance in our most recent conflicts. Changes in warfare and the world s political climate forced the United Statesto change their strategic focus and redefine their outlook for the future; based on new technologies, new centers of power, and a world that is growing more volatile, more unpredictable, and in some instances more threatening to the United States. In March of 2014 the Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) revised the DOD strategy to align with current threats and budgetary constraints. The QDR started by listing the three pillars of strategic focus. The first pillar is protecting the homeland. The need to concentrate on homeland protection is increasing in importance due to amplified threats, and preparing for catastrophes; natural disaster relief is part of homeland protection. The second pillar is global security; deterring conflicts before they begin while strengthening our partnerships around the globe. The third pillar is projecting power and winning decisively; whether that s to be able to respond to conflict, or whether it s to come to the aid

This business consists of a variety of wood designs which are sketched and painted to the customers satisfaction. Choosing to shadowmy mother was an easy decision because of how dedicated she is to her business. There have been Saturday s when I have had a softball tournament and my Mother was not able to go, because the studio was going to be busy and she had to be there for the day to run on schedule. Running the studio comes with many complications. On a daily basis there are problems to be solved. How Gidget handles these problems are very impressive. In the end the customer is always pleased. When a customer is unhappy, for me it would very hard to figure out a way to please them and not have a problem with the studio still running on schedule, but for my Mother it is no problem. I think it is easy for my Mother to please a customer in a tough situation because she has always told me It is never too late to be nice to someone. This quote to me means that no matter how upset that customer is you can always figure out a way to please them. My experience really helped me understand the quote from Atticus Finch You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view until you climb into his skin and walk around in it. When I first read the quote I thought I understood it, but after spending this time with her discussing and evaluating the way she thinks and works, it dawned on me how hard it was the be not only a business owner, but a Mother at the same time. • 14. Compare And Contrast Fish And Gas Exchange Systems Gas exchange in mammals and bony fish There are many similarities and differences in the gas exchange systems of mammals and bony fish, due to the way they have adapted to fit their particular environments. For example, one way in which their systems differ is in the way they work. Fish use gill irrigation, which is more efficient than the mammal s system of tidal ventilation. The system must be more efficient due to the viscosity of water, as well as the lower oxygen concentration, which makes it more difficult to ventilate than air. Gill irrigation causes a unidirectional flow, as when they open their mouths water flows in, and when they close them the pressure increases and the water is forced over the gills and out of the operculum. The
  • 15. Animal Symbols Used In The Odyssey Symbols, not the musical instrument, but the pieces of literature that stand for something much greater. A normal dog may not just be a man s best friend, but maybe the dog symbolizes the loyalty of one man and his city. Or maybe a small town in Greece isn t just a place with ocean front property, but maybe it symbolizes home. A place where you feel safe and powerful, however with that comes danger. Enemies lurking around on every corner trying to steal what is righteously yours. These normal everyday topics can be applied to the story of the Odyssey where everything has a purpose. The numerous symbols used in the Odyssey, such as the city of Ithaca, Argos the dog, and the sea help enhance the story by giving the audience insight on Greek Society.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Argos was Odysseus hunting dog and was extremely loyal to him. Odysseus breeded Argos himself and grew very close to him as they grew up. Unfortunately the Trojan War occured and Odysseus was forced to fight, leaving Argos behind. The story goes on and Odysseus gets lost out at sea and doesn t come back to his home (Ithaca) for another twenty years. Now that s a long time especially in dog years (around 130 years). However Odysseus arrival to Ithaca was discreet, partly because he was disguised as a beggar. The loyalty that Argos shows can be seen when no one can recognize Odysseus because of his disguise, the only exception is Argos the dog. Argos is able to smell Odysseus and recognize him through his scent. Even after twenty years, Argos still remembers Odysseus and shows what true loyalty looks like. The following quote shows Argos recognizing his master, When he knew that is was his old master near him, he wagged his tail and dropped both ears; but he could not move to approach him. Odysseus saw, and secretly wiped a tear from his eye so that Eumaeus did not notice... (Homer, 197) Notice here Argos is unable to get up and greet his master. This isn t because Argos is shy, but Argos is incredibly old and on top of that he has been malnourished throughout the years. The city of Ithaca has been in panic with Odysseus being lost and now with all the suitors in the palace no one is thinking about the small things such as the dog

Film And Photography Research Paper Film and Photography Film and Photography has changed dramatically over the decades, from the camera obscura, pinhole, lomography and now we are at an age where almost everybody in the world has the means to make films and photographs in their pockets. Since the means of making filmic and photographic art are still so readily available, the rarity and uniqueness of the media has been greatly diluted. This makes it harder for artists to establish themselves, on the other hand this also means ; because there is more competition that art pieces are becoming more and more exceptional. I will be looking at how this affects modern art and whether or not I believe this art form has attributed to it. Although it is argued the use of photographs are not as diligent as traditional art forms such as painting or sculpting, it has opened up a whole new breed of art; which documents and captures, instantaneous fleeting moments . Photography gives a take on perspective that cannot be captured by hand and because of digitalised nature of the media, allows the photographer or film maker an almost unlimited amount of versatility through editing. Francis Firth called the use of photography an attribute I very much agree with him. The use of photography has been a prominently useful tool throughout history, many artists used photographs to capture a scene or portrait to be draw or painted later thus extending their time scale. I have used photography and film in my own work. I find

  • 18. Guilt Is A Raw Instinctive Emotion Of Human Nature Surname 1 Name: Tutor: Course: Date Guilt Introduction Guilt is a raw instinctive emotion of the human nature. Is there a general way through human beings and all other forms of life would be distinguished from one another. Both humans and other forms of life on earth have the element of life, the element of survival. Through feeding and excretion they are both similar. In almost every aspect of life for both human and other forms of life, they are identical to each other. If for example, both did not feed, their fate would be equally the same. Through the theory of evolution of man, it is argued that he evolved from the most basic form of life and over the years evolved in what he is today, a prime being, at the top of the list. But what differentiates the two apart. Intellectuality and the ability to use reason is the very fundamental difference between human beings and other forms of life. Having intellect means the ability to use reason to make decisions and choices. There however, is a difference between choices. Choices could either be voluntary or involuntary. Actions that are made through involuntary choices could be termed as the raw instincts elements of man, some of which could probably be compared to those of animals and other living organisms. On the other hand, there are actions that are based on voluntary choices, actions that an individual knows their consequence but goes on to do them. Take for example, a little child not more than 5 years, meaning that his

Open planned physical space is desired, because this will help to create an environment which encourages more interaction between employees and the effect of hierarchy will also be minimised. For an organisation to have learning characteristics, it ll have to rely on the functioning of internal organisational relationships and how the organisation interacts with its external environment. Internal organisational relationships have a big impact on how an organisation can transform into a learning organisation. Most organisations in today s society tend to be more modernist in terms of its social structure. They make use of the hierarchical structure, the high level of formalization, centralized decision making and vertical communication in the form of instructions. This type of mechanistic structure produces predictability and accountability, but it restrains the level of flexibility, adaptability and the innovation of the organisations. For an organisation to have learning characteristics, an organic social structure is favoured over the mechanistic social structure. Organic forms, characterised as informal, decentralised and requiring high degree of coordination across departments, are more likely to be innovative and to grant greater discretion to employees

Where you can get frostbite and sunburn in the same week and snow days are an urban legend. Where most people leave and, like a boomerang, come right back because there s no place we d rather call home than Ra Cha Cha. Throughout my life, I have travelled to other countries, experienced different cultures and communicated with the individuals within those cultures. I have also moved within the United States, from New York to Utah, and become so immersed in another culture that I could see past the obvious differences from where I grew up and see the differences of everyday life as well. Since moving to Salt Lake City, I ve become hyperaware of the rituals that have shaped my identity as a Rochestarian in a way that simply spending a few weeks in another country never has. The stark cultural differences between New York and Utah have shaped how I ve interacted with people here, in both positive and negatives ways. The concepts in James W. The works of Derrida encourage us to consider the condition of strategies that ultimately refers to a radical exteriority something remaining outside to power and authority. This analysis of the outside acts as the catalyst to resist any form of authority without re affirming or confirming to the structure of authority that attempts to displace. Christopher Norris defines deconstructionas a series of moves, which involve the disassembling of opposition and hierarchies and revealing aporias and elements of self contradiction. In introducing the concept of supplement , Derrida writes it is not any less remarkable that the so called living discourse should suddenly be described by a metaphor borrowed from the order of the very thing one is trying to exclude from it . In that sense, speech is dependent on the writing that it tends to exclude ultimately leading to writing as the logic of supplementarity ; a supplement is necessarily excluded by the presence but is also in indispensable for the formation of its identity. This unearthing of the logic of supplementarity is considered to be a deconstructive move adopted

There is however, a big difference between a nervous student and one with a medical condition that needs more specialised help and in extreme cases referral to a medical professional would be required. Mentoring and being a role model is equally implicit and should extend to all values of being a human being and not just those related to First Aid. I believe that, in this regard, there can not be any real boundary to how a teacher/trainer can act. List and describe the points of referral to meet the needs of the learners There should be no need to signpost learners to someone with greater knowledge of First Aid, nor should there be another trainer with more appropriate teaching style, as different teaching styles can be used by anyone. • 34. Violating Cultural Norms It was really difficult for me initially to select a norm I wanted to violate. I just couldn t come up with anything even after hearing examples in class. And naturally, I hate being the center of attention or doing anything that will get me noticed, but I knew that I ll have to get over that to be able to complete this assignment. What is a norm? I had my coat and sweat pants in the car to wear afterwards so that I didn t get sick. I remember before I left the house, my mother pleaded with me to cover up more but I refused. I told her I was okay with the way I was dressed. She tried to get me to change but I did not listen, I insisted on going to the gathering the way I was dressed. I could already imagine the reactions of people even before I did it. I believed people were definitely going to stare at me, some might laugh at me, some might feel worried for me, and others might just have a look of shock or disbelief on their

But clearly in today s society student athletes are making a strong effort to destroy that reputation. By athletes getting involved in the school s campus life as well at the community, they are showing that their lives aren t all about sports. NBC News writer, Lisa Heffernan, shows just exactly how students are becoming involved in the school in her recent article titled CollegeAthletes Find Success in College and the Workplace . She writes Athletes were more likely than non athletes to say that they had a professor who cared about them as a person and were more involved with campus clubs and organizations. (Heffernan). It is very important for an athlete to become close with a teacher or professor, because being an athlete means road games and possibly missing class which is never easy to do. Another statistic Lisa Heffernan points out, is that sports kept students in school and at one school for all four years. Statistics show that Despite the time demands of playing for a team, athletes were highly engaged in campus life. They were far less likely to transfer (39% vs. 22%)... (Heffernan). A school s mission should be to better their students and want them to stay at school for all four years.
