My Hawaii Place
As everyone grows up and learn new things. They also travel and get to see new places. There are
different places that people admire, whether it is close or far. My favorite place that i ve been to is the
big island of hawaii. Although I don t go to hawaii that often ,it is still a special place to me . The first
and obvious reason why the Big island of hawaii is my favorite place is because its far away from the
mainland. The other 49 states are both unique and interesting in their own way. However on the east
coast, life can be stressful and busy. In places like NYC and philly drivers always needs to be
somewhere and can t relax or take their time. Not to mention its heavily populated. What makes
Hawaii different from mainland america is that it s far away on an island with not that many people.
The big island of hawaii especially has fewer people and they are all native to the island. Hawaii was a
whole different culture and life from The states. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Maxine Motif In Woman Warrior
Kingston contrasts Maxine s American education with stories told by her parents, for her edification,
to demonstrate the opposing cultures found in her life. The beginning of the book starts with Maxine s
mother telling her about her ostracized aunt who had a baby with a random man instead of her
husband. When the villagers raided out of discontent, her family stood together in the middle of [their]
house, in the family hall with the pictures and tables of the ancestors around [them], and looked
straight ahead (4). Maxine s mother is implicating to Maxine that her actions don t just affect her, but
her entire lineage; that the family name is more important to protect than cherishing an individual. A
recurring motif in Woman Warrior are ghosts,

THE SPANISH COLONIZATION IN THE PHILIPPINES The Philippines was very lucky because
our country was rich in natural resources. And that is the reason why many foreign countries had

three hundred years. They are the reason why Filipinos experienced suffered, hardship, persecution

The Spanish changed the lives of Filipino. Even though the Spanish was inhumanity but the Filipino
was still lucky because the Spanish people exerted efforts to implement our country by sharing to us
the way of their living and those things contributed a lot to us Filipino. And we also give thanks to the
Spanish because they converted the Filipino into Catholicism because if the Spain had not succeeded
to colonized our country, then our country would have been a Muslim nation now. Catholicism is the
most important contribution that the Spanish given to us. The Spanish colonization in the Philippines
brought such poverty, violence, misery to us Filipino. But it also contributes us a lot of good things.
They improved and helped our country in many ways. Even though the Filipino experienced the
inhumanity of the Spaniards but still they influenced us the way of their living and until today we still
used and make those influences in our daily lives. The only thing that we can say in the Spanish
colonization is that we felt different emotions. We felt angry because the Spaniards abused the Filipino
they treated them as slaves. We felt sad because their are many Filipinos sacrificed their own lives just

Analysis Of Everything That Rises Must Converge By...
Flannery O Connor s works are nothing short of extraordinary. They frequently step into the realm of
the extreme to make a statement or prove a point. The result is that her messages are stark and vivid,
and O Connor is able to make bold positions on controversial subjects. She achieves this effect
through a number of means, which consist primarily of Christian symbolism, character foils, and
literary irony. Combined, they create rich, intense environments in which radical events push and twist
characters. As a result of this stress, the characters are defined more clearly. In many instances, they
achieve a kind of self realization, and their revelations usually come with an ironic factor or
consequence. O Connor s stories, notably ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Negroid woman. Prepare yourself, he said, (10). The lengths Julian goes to degrade his mother say
more about him than they do about her. His criticism of her racism identifies him as a complete
hypocrite. However, Julian, like many O Connor characters, experiences a sudden realization that
stems from his flaws. Toward the end of the story, his mother attempts to give a coin to the child of a
belligerent black women, who, not coincidentally, has the exact same absurd hat that his mother was

identical, broke upon him with the radiance of a brilliant sunrise. His face was suddenly lit with joy.
He could not believe that Fate had thrust upon his mother such a lesson, (11). David Leigh, who wrote

Airplane Of Hope Speech
Airplane of Hope
Dear Mr.Hawkins , my former, history teacher, I know you are set in your idea that the destruction of
the Berlin Wall was the turning point of WWll, I strongly disagree. Even though there were
significant, life changing, humanitarian efforts made by the U.S, the Berlin Airlift was one of the
greatest of these efforts. This was one of the strongest humanitarian efforts made because America
supplied food for the starving people of West Berlin, granted them the gift of hope when there was
nothing left to hope for, and assisted every step of the way until the terrible separation between East
Berlin and West Berlin. When the Soviets took their share of Germany with France, Britain, and the
U.S., the Soviets made the choice to separate Germany into eastern and western divisions. This was
done so that they could extend communism into a war torn Europe. After World War Two, there
wouldn t have been any better timing. The war gave them an open door to start communism all over
again because no one would ve been able to stop whatever came in their path.
The events leading to the Airlift began with Russia s iron fist and persistence to conquer everything.
The Russians prayed that the poverty and a war torn Western Europe would give them the chance to
spread communism into the western half of Europe (Griffin). In the beginning, a plan which was filled
with solely hope in the beginning, slowly unraveled in front of the world s eyes as a nightmare. The

Priming Is Manipulating A Faster Response For A Target Word
A multiplicity of stimuli is continuously assaulting our senses of which some are pertinent to the
current task and some which are irrelevant. Xxxxxx suggest because of this bombardment, goal
directed behaviour needs a great degree of choosiness when processing information. According to
Deutsch and Deutsch (1963) understanding the mechanisms used in the multifaceted processes of
selecting, analysing and processing incoming stimuli along with the limitations underlying these
processes it is not a fully understood area. (GULAN and VALERJEV 2010). Priming is manipulating a
faster response to a target word by the presentation of a semantically related word. Bodner Mason,

Friedrich, Henik Tzelgov, 1991. An amount of findings have provided supporting evidence that the
stimuli can be processed outside of conscious awareness (Merikle, Smilek Eastwood, 2001). Studies
by Jalal and Amir (2014) and Henik and Tzelgov (1991) have shown an insight into the automatic
processes believed to occur during priming that do not rely upon conscious perception. Merikle et al
2001 suggest that regardless of whether objective or subjective measures of assessing have been used
there is evidence perception occurs without conscious awareness. They also argue not only is
perception without awareness possible but that qualitative differences in processing and performances
is also possible with or without awareness
Cognitive processing can be been known to be influenced by words of different valance (positive/
negative / neutral). Sass, Krach, Sachs, Kircher (2012) investigated the influence valanced words had
on semantic priming with special interest in the neural correlates of indirect priming. Their 2012 study
of sixteen participants examining the neural correlates found positive and neutral information
activated similar network areas within the brain however; negative stimuli inhibited the spread of the
activation. Sass et al (2012) study also found the processing of positive and neutral types of
information was less cognitively demanding than negatively affective information, Rossell and Nobre

Can Animals Look The Same Essay
Can animals look the same? 12 Pictures
There are many people in this world who look almost the same, but that is not strange because
members of the same species are similar. But, what happens when it comes to different species? If we
talk about animals, we would probably never think about how they can be similar in all their diversity.
Are you ready to take a look over relationships for which you might never guess they even existed?
Starting with bunnies
Cute rabbits are always favored as pets, but can they change our favorite dogs? If you look at this
picture, you wouldn t even notice the difference between these two friends. It is almost unbelievable
how these two cuties have the same shape and form of their colors. Only the eyes are a bit different,
but that is just because this puppy is totally incredible. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Passing by the dorm is nothing unusual, but what happens when you see something strange inside?
Hey guys, one bed is good for one animal, shouldn t that be the rule? But, nobody cares now, as cat
and dog perfectly fits inside the one on the picture. If we consider the same color of the animals, most
of us would not even notice there are two friends sleeping together.
What are you talking about?
Some animals don t have only the same colors on their bodies. They sometimes also have the same
face expression. These friends had the same question at the moment of shooting. They look like they
simply want to ask you what did you said a moment ago. But, we have to admit these lovely faces are
invaluable, as they can make your day positive in only one second.
The nap time is close
As we came almost to the end of this story, some animals came to the end of a hard day. It is time they

cat took the better position, but that is always the rule of life. Somehow cats always get what they

Use Of Stereotypes In Michael Blake s Dances With Wolves
Throughout history people of different races and ethnic backgrounds have struggled to get along and
accept each other. In Michael Blake s novel, Dances With Wolves, Lieutenant John Dunbar s life
changes after he becomes involved with the Comanche Indians. After a short period of time, both
Dunbar and the Indians learn to trust each other. Through literary terms such as foreshadowing,
symbolism, and similes, Blake proves the idea that love, friendship, belonging, and connection can be
found between people of different backgrounds and races.
Foreshadowing is effectively used in order to prove that a strong relationship can be formed between
people of different backgrounds. Blake foreshadows the love and marriage of Stands With A Fist and
Dances ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He chooses to use these similes so readers can understand the relationship between Dunbar and the
Indians. For example, the author utilizes a simile to describe Dunbar s relation with Wind In His Hair
and Stone Calf. They were as smug as schoolboys (Blake 275). Blake compares the relationship
between the Indian warriors and Dunbar to schoolboys. By doing this, Blake implies that the men are
comfortable together and and accepting of each other. Also, at this point in the book, Wind In His Hair
and Stone Calf joke around with Dunbar about his love for Stands With A Fist. This proves how far
the men have come in their relationship. At the beginning of the novel, the Indians would have been
against any romantic relationship between an Indian woman and a white man. However, by the end of
the book, they do not pay attention to the race of Dunbar; rather, they care about his kind personality
and the other favorable qualities he possesses. To continue, Blake uses many other quotes to
demonstrate the strong relationship between the Indians and Dunbar. Then it jumped into his eyes, and
like the only boy in class who knows the answer, he smiled at his teacher (Blake 209). This quote tells
the readers many details about Dunbar. By mentioning that he smiles, the quote proves is happy and
excited to be with the Indians. Also, by comparing Dunbar to the only boy in class who know the
answer, it tells readers that Dunbar is wise. He is smart not only for guessing correctly what the
Indians are trying to communicate to him, but he is also smart for building this relationship with the
Indians. Like the first example, this quote refers to a school setting. Dunbar smiling shows that he has
a good relationship with his teacher Stands With A Fist. In addition, the quote references the theme
because teachers teach people from all different backgrounds. It shows the strong connection between
the student and the teacher in this case Dunbar

convey reality in certain geographical areas in the United States. Through the use of setting and a

The Significance Of Physical Education Essay
The Significance of Physical Education in American Schools
Review
Hommes, Tiffany J., Bemidji State University, USA
Background Many children in America do not receive the needed amount of physical activity needed
to maintain a healthy weight. Approximately17% of children are obese (Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation, 2016) and one in three children are overweight or obese (American Heart Association,
2016). This is a local and national emergency that needs to be addressed to keep children healthy,
prevent morbidities, and control the costs that are associated with being overweight or obese. Pre
diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension in children is at an all time high. However, research
indicates that only 3.8 percent of American elementary schools provide daily physical education
(Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2007). This paper will discuss the importance of daily physical
education in our schools. There is an abundance of support to provide daily physical education in our
schools. First Lady Michelle Obama is leading a national initiative called Let s Move to reverse the
childhood obesity epidemic. One of the initiatives in Let s Move is to increase physical activity (Let s
Move!) In fact, Healthy People 2020 has objectives to increase the portion of the America s private
and public schools that require daily physical education (U.S. Department of Health and Human

A Crumby Story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears
Oh boy, you ll never guess what kind of story that goddam sonuvabitch Stradlater told me. It has to be

believe me so I don t even know why I m telling ya, but here it is, the same goddam thing that
Stradlater told me. I suppose I should start at the beginning of the story, it only makes sense.
Anyways, he started the story by telling me about some phony girl named Goldilocks or something
and these three very sore bears who lived in a small house in the middle of the forest. I hate when I
hear about others who are poorer than me. It bothers me when others don t have the same advantages
as me. It depresses the hell out of me, it really does. Anyways, you wouldn t think anybody would be
living way the hell out in the goddam forest, but here they were. Honestly who still believes in this
fairy tale crap anymore. Allie, my younger brother you know the one I told you about. He used to love
hearing fairy tales and stories, he really did. Me, not so much especially the crumby ones. It bothers
me when parents tell their kids these stories with phony characters and phony plots, if you want to

Starbucks Internationalization in Recent Years
With the first coffee shop opened in Sydney CBD, Starbucks entered into Australian market in July of

What customers need is consistent quality services, which is discovered in the report by Chen and Hu
(2010) that if customers feel confident that they can have a consistent quality consumption experience
each time they come, they tend to choose the same coffee shop to enjoy their coffee. And such
favorable attitude towards the service they have received could evolve into customer loyalty, since the
essence of customer loyalty is, as Barnes (2001) depicts, all about how you make them feel , vice
versa. Customer loyalty may result in consistent purchasing behavior of the brand over time.
Therefore, it could be concluded that the all round quality service performed by staff with high
consistency could be the competitive advantage of Starbucks, which can make it special and achieve
long run sustainability in Australian market.
In light of this finding, Starbucks Australia should devote more efforts to human resources
management. More specifically, a series of human resource practice could be designed and
implemented to strategically improve employees competency and working attitude. For example, staff
training could help them be more competent to perform all tasks involved up to standards and with
high consistency and staff motivation could boost morale and let them know what is expected of them
in a quite specific way. Both staff training and motivation could increase employees satisfaction to the
extent that they are willing to exert effort to perform the

Life Of Homeless People Across The United States Of America
Condition call Homelessness A young twelve year old girl named Dasani lives in the Auburn Family
Residence in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. Auburn s Family Residence is a shelter for more
than 22,000 homeless children in New York. Dasani lives in a place where mold and roaches claims
the walls, where vomit submerges the toilets, where kids like Dasani have to watch after their mom as
they try to cleanse themselves in a shower that looks and smells like it hasn t been cleaned since it
opened. She begins her day taking on mom duties at the age of 12 taking care of her brothers and
sisters and cleaning the living space. Dasani lives in place where in order to eat her food she has to
wait on a microwave that is used by hundreds of other homeless individuals dying to eat their first
meal. One might ask who could possibly live in this treacherous nightmare of an environment? This is
the life of homeless people across the United States of America. This environment is why homeless
kids are twice as likely to repeat a grade than their regular counterparts. This why homeless kids fall
victim to depression, and are socially withdrawn. These are the exact reasons why homeless people
are more likely to succumb to HIV/Aids, diabetes and tuberculosis. Any regular human being would

Gloria Estefan s Latin Music
Introduction: As mentioned by Gloria Estefan, a woman who has in truth, changed the Latin music
world: The most beautiful thing about Latin music is that it transcends most anything . Determining
from what Estefan has brought up of Latin pop, she seems to have had a great influence to this genre.
Consequently, it will be examined how Estefan s music defines this genre and elaborated onto the
point of the context and backgrounds of Latin pop.
Origination of Latin Pop:
Throughout the course of history, Latin Music has been influenced by various factors of society and
genres. In the first place, Latin Pop has most likely generated in Spain, Latin America, The Caribbean,
Central, Southern and Northern America and all other Spanish speaking ... Show more content on

It goes Come on baby, do the conga I know you can t control yourself any longer . To be clear, this
part has 22 beats.
Tempo and Dynamics:
In the beginning of the song, the tempo starts off quickly and very rapid, yet after a minute, it seems to
slow down. Additionally, at the end, the beat increases again. This would mean that at the start and end
of the song, the dynamics are forte (f), whilst comparing this to the middle of the song, the dynamics
of mezzo forte (mf).
Form: To start off, the Conga tracks an unusual form being A, B, C, D, B, E, F, B, B , G. Thus, there
does not seem to be a clear format seen. Nevertheless, this gives the song a great interest. Conclusion:
To conclude, Gloria Estefan had a great influence on the entertaining genre. Estefan was the first
American artist who combined modern American Pop music with traditional Latin rhythms and
language. With this new and modern style she became very successful in the Americas and brought
Latin Pop music all around the globe. Currently, there are many artists inspired by Gloria Estefan s
music and temper, such as Luis Fonsi, who at the moment is one of the most popular Latin music
artists. All of these varied features take part in latin musical pieces and come to generate
overwhelming dynamics, upbeat tempos and emotional and relatable means which have made Gloria

Canada s Residential Schools On Aboriginal Children
Aboriginal children cannot forget what happened to them in the past. In 1870s, above 150 000
aboriginal children took from their parents to attend Canada s Indian Residential Schools until 1970s
(CBC News, 2010, p 49). The most goals for those schools learned aboriginal children the culture of
European people (CBC News, 2010, p 49). Unfortunately, aboriginal parents have not choice even if
they want to send their children to schools or not (CBC News, 2010, p 49). According to CBC News if
aboriginal children tried to breakout from schools and coming again to their families, they will send
back to their schools by Indian agents (2010, p 49). Moreover, there are negative aspects of Canada s
Residential Schools on aboriginal children, such as they beaten and physically abused if they speak
their native language, do not pay attention in class, or there is no reason (CBC News, 2010, p 50). As a
result, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) began in 2009, to gather information about
what happened to aboriginal children on Canada s Indian Residential Schools and share their stories
with all Canadians (CBC News,2010, p 46). The TRC done enough for the survivors of the aboriginal

Schindler s List Analysis
Schindlers list so we just watched the schindlers list. The movie in all was great. At the beginning, I
wasnt sure if I would get into it. I was wrong. I didnt really know what to think about Oscar, I believe
he was way different at the beginning of the movie. Defenitly had a different perspective of him of
first, he only really focused on himself and getting money. A bit selfish. I think deep down he was a
good man at heart. He defenitly dealed with things a lot better than others did. The other man was
horrible he had no empathy what so ever for other people. Not even children. Sometimes there was no
reason behind killing innocent people, he did it simply because he felt like it. There was a time when
schindler actually tried to prevent him from killing people without thinking. The bad guy said that
killing meant he had power, but schindler said that having the ability too kill and not doing so but
forgive is real power. The bad guy didnt really get it at first and just kind of laughed at him. The next

Believer Creators
Without a question, people are always the most valuable assets of any organization. It takes a person
to create the idea for any business or non profit enterprise and people to implement on that vision and
make it genuinely lifelike. All other resources have to be assigned to or managed by people. All
organizations begin as a thought in the mind of one or more individuals. That vision is shared with
others who may become employees. An employee will perform better or at his peak when he has a
positive perception of the work he is doing and his organization. When an organization believes in its
people, it does everything in its power to keep them happy and motivated. Believers are more creative,
committed, collegial and productive than unmotivated employees. A believer s passion for the
organization and its mission may inspire others who lack the same enthusiasm and drive. ... Show

A creator can be anyone from an innovative salesperson to a head of marketing. Creators think of
unique ways to brand and promote your organization, products and services, culture and people.
Organizations that recognize the value of creators always promote free and radical thought. Tim Cook,
Apple s CEO, says that his organization does not view creativity as a process, but as people who keep
thinking about an idea until they find the simplest and best way to execute it. Achievers are the people
within your organization that meet or exceed your expectations. Whether it s a VP of Marketing

set them self in a group, and have some harmony on it. And also Japanese also known as the most

Masculinity
In my opinion, Masculinity versus femininity is about the value system refers to genders s role in
society. If some country has a low number of masculinuty, means that country s values systems refers
to feminimity which is the society is caring others and have a good life quality. But if the country has
a high score of masculinity, that is mean the country s society is driven by competition and thought
that be the winner means succsessfull.
Example:
US has 62 for masculinity, it means that US s society is much to masculin. They want to have a lot of
achievement as their succes standard, they would love to compete and be the winner instead.
Japan has 95 for their score, it shows that Japanese is an absolute masculin, their succsess is define by
they become the winner or they can be the best in their field or not. So Japanese can easily motivated

The 1950s were a prodigious time period for family life but not for the individual or societal ethics.

These types of articles forced women to behave in a way that lived up to a standard set by white
patriarchs. Once these women edited their appearances to stand out to a man and learned to be an
exceptional wife, they often became bored with their lives of sitting around the house because they
were not allowed to go out into the world. Document M takes an excerpt from a doctor s research on
why so many women came in with bored looks on their faces asking what was wrong with them.
Instead of the doctors telling them to go out and enjoy themselves they often prescribed tranquilizers.
These women would wake up and pop a tranquilizer, making them not care that they felt like they did
not want to live like that another day. Problems like those were often caused by society s iniquitous
codes for life.
The insecurities of the individual were caused by the poor societal ethics of the time. Document B

beautiful, they needed to buy products to alter their appearances. This was an example of social
conformity, which was another poor ethic of the time. And the people in the houses all went to the

Abstract
When asked what to define a Psychopath people will often respond with descriptions such as
remorseless or lacking in empathy . However due to the results of studies from the past 20 years there
may now be reason to believe that this is not always true. This study investigates the relationship
between Primary and Secondary Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy.
The Levenson Self Report Psychopathy Scale and the Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test were used to
work out the Primary Secondary Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy scores of 452 students studying
Psychology at Victoria University of Wellington. Scores were put into a correlational design and it
was found that Primary Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy have a significantly negative correlation.
This meant that there was a relationship between Primary Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy.
The Relationship Between Primary Secondary
Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy Alot of research has been done to understand the relationship
between Primary(PP) Secondary Psychopathy(SP) and Cognitive Empathy(ToM). Psychopathy has

Peace Like A River Analysis
Peace Like River: The Importance of Faith in Life
Many Christians wear faith as a suit of armor protecting them from life s hardships. God guides
believers through loss, poverty, and sickness. The common phrase,
God doesn t give you more than you can handle expresses this idea. The knowledge that they are not
alone and have God s protection gives them strength and hope. Leif
Enger, the author of Peace Like A River, utilizes Reuben Land, the protagonist; to expose the
protection faith provides to Jeremiah Land, Reuben s father, compared to Reuben s brother, Davy
Land s uncertain faith leading to his demolished life.
The miracles Jeremiah Land experiences illustrates how his faith keeps him safe.

life, as Jeremiah s first and last miracle was for Reuben to live. In Many ways, Reuben s life comes
full circle at the end of Peace Like A River.
Leif Enger shows the reader the importance of faith by displaying the different roles faith has in
Jeremiah s, Davy s, and Reuben s life. Jeremiah s faith was precious to him. His faith guided his life
through many hardships. When Davy struggled he felt alone because he didn t trust in God to guide
him. He replaced the role of faith in his life with faith in himself giving himself omnipotent power to
determine the fate of others. He believed so strongly in himself, one person, he exacted justice on
Tommy and Israel, taking away any possibility of their future. Reuben s perspective of faith was
shaped by how faith influenced his father and brother, primary figures in his life. Jeremiah s and
Davy s opposite lives allowed Reuben to see faith as a protectant. Reuben wore faith as

A search party was set out to find the three and within the next day the bodies were found at the

to Wilson. Potential reasons the accident could have happened include mechanical failure, and
whether Kennedy s flying was impeded by an injury to his right foot he recently sustained while para

The most depressing Kennedy story is of Rosemary Kennedy. As I was reading the article I was
saddened by what had happened to Rosemary. She was 23 when she disappeared from the public eye.
What happened to her is the worst case in the Kennedy family. Both parents believed that Rosemary
could be cured through a combination of holding her to the same standard as her siblings, specialized
education and experimental injections(Hapsis 3) The reason no one ever heard what happened is
because Joe Kennedy wanted no one to know the evil he had done. Joe had chosen a surgical
procedure, without talking to his wife, where a lobotomy was performed on her to try and make
Rosemary normal . The lobotomy did not do this, it caused Rosemary to regress to the mental age of a
two year old and because of this she could not walk or talk( Hapsis 6). According to Hapsis, Rosemary
was no longer mentioned in family letters after 1944, and no one visited her until 1958 when John
secretly went to see her. Rosemary s death was one of the only natural deaths, she died from old age.

The Life and Writing of William Faulkner Essay
The birth of the modernist movement in American literature was the result of the post World War I
social breakdown. Writers adopted a disjointed fragmented style of writing that rebelled against
traditional literature. One such writer is William Faulkner, whose individual style is characterized by
his use of stream of consciousness and writing from multiple points of view. World War I had a more
profound effect on society than wars prior. With new deadly weapons, like poison gas, high death
tolls, and the first occurrence of total war, shocked the world, tearing people between the modern and
the tradition. Traditional society was torn down by the destruction of the war. As with most literary

His actually education only goes as far as one year at the University of Mississippi. After leaving
Oxford and living in New Haven, Connecticut for a few years, Faulkner joined the British Royal
Flying Corps. He never served active duty, as the war ended before his training did. Faulkner returned
home and began writing poetry. But his early writing was more of the traditional style a mix of
Shakespeare, Victorian, and Edwardian. It wasn t until a trip to New Orleans in 1925 that he began to
fiddle with his writing style, after a friend encouraged him to write more Southern based prose. His
style also grew as he began reading James Joyce, a high modernist writer, and Sigmund Freud, and
also took a trip to Europe the center of modernist writing. With these influences, Faulkner began
writing novels about Southern society, with an emphasis on the psychology of the characters. For
example, in his novel The Sound and the Fury, Faulkner writes from four different points of view; the
first three sections are of each of the three brother s point of view, and the last section is omniscient.
His writing also plays with chronology, not always following a specific timeline. The disjointedness of
time is very prominent in As I Lay Dying. About the death of a mother, the 59 inner monologues and
fifteen characters make the book more about the characters psychology rather than a

Questions On Target Data Breach
Target Data Breach

ECPI University
Abstract In December of 2013, over 40 million credit card information was stolen from 2000 Target
stores. This paper will explore the known issues in the Target breach and consider some of the Critical
Controls that could have been used to prevent this breach and mitigate the losses. There are multiple
factors that led to the largest data loss in history. Vendors were subject to various phishing attacks,
memory scraping malware and detection used by Target that failed. One of the possible solutions for
preventing and mitigating similar breaches is using a multi layered security strategy, and to consider
human factors that may be contributed to the loss of this information.
The Breach
Target, one of the nation s largest retailers, had a data breach that had up to 40 million consumers have
their credit card and debit card data stolen, while up to 70 million had their personal information

Why Do School Lunches Be Banned From Schools
Today one in five school aged children (ages 6 19) have obesity and people debate over how to
decrease this number and prevent it from being more of an issue in the future. School lunches are
often brought up in this discussion, some say that by getting rid of all junk food in schools would help
decrease the number of obese students and prevent them in future by providing only healthy food
options. On the other hand, they say that it s not that simple, the problems are at home and that getting
rid of these items could decrease revenues for school activities from those products.
Many people believe that junk food should be banned from schools across the nation. In fact, Carol

responsibility of the parents (Metallo). They feel that because more meals are consumed at home, they
effect on their weight is happening at home more than it is at school so it is the fault of the the child s
parents for their unhealthy habits. Another reason why people think they should not need to ban junk

Essay On Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying is defined as the repeated use of technology to harass, humiliate, and threaten others.
Cyberbullying has become the new way to bully others because teenagers have access to their social
media, cell phones, and internet anywhere and at any time. Even though traditional bullying has
occurred for years, researchers and school officials are still searching for solutions to solve the new
form of bullying known as cyberbullying. Since cyberbullying is anonymous a solution to the problem

part of a victim s life and can cause ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast, twelve percent said that they have experienced or taken part in traditional bullying;
however, of those at least ninety five percent said it was meant to be a joke (Duverge). Cyberbullying
is affecting more people each day and is becoming even more vicious the longer researchers are trying
to find a solution. One third to one half of teenagers have been targeted or been a victim of
cyberbullying. Teenagers involved have experienced everything from a decline in academic
performance all the way to committing suicide (Holladay, pg. 5). Although traditional bullying is
slowing down because of the increase in cyberbullying, some teenagers still resort to bullying each
other face to face. Studies show that boys are more likely to bully in person; however, girls are more
likely to bully online. Girls use labels such as slut, whore, etc. during their cyberbullying attacks while
boys mostly make fun of each other s appearances and accuse one another of being gay or too
fashionable (Holladay, pg.6). A majority of cyberbullying begins when one person s desire for
confidence and/or power becomes too strong.
Not only can cyberbullying be done 24/7 and can be done anywhere but everything a teen does is now
done online. The content an individual shares online including personal, negative, mean or hurtful
content creates a permanent record of their views, activities, and behaviors ( What is Cyberbullying ).

My favorite place that i ve been to is the big island of hawaii. Although I don t go to hawaii that often ,it is still a special place to me . The first and obvious reason why the Big island of hawaii is my favorite place is because its far away from the mainland. The other 49 states are both unique and interesting in their own way. However on the east coast, life can be stressful and busy. In places like NYC and philly drivers always needs to be somewhere and can t relax or take their time. Not to mention its heavily populated. • 7. Analysis Of Everything That Rises Must Converge By... Flannery O Connor s works are nothing short of extraordinary. They frequently step into the realm of the extreme to make a statement or prove a point. The result is that her messages are stark and vivid, and O Connor is able to make bold positions on controversial subjects. She achieves this effect through a number of means, which consist primarily of Christian symbolism, character foils, and literary irony. Combined, they create rich, intense environments in which radical events push and twist characters. As a result of this stress, the characters are defined more clearly. In many instances, they achieve a kind of self realization, and their revelations usually come with an ironic factor or consequence. O Connor s stories, notably ... His criticism of her racism identifies him as a complete hypocrite. However, Julian, like many O Connor characters, experiences a sudden realization that stems from his flaws. Toward the end of the story, his mother attempts to give a coin to the child of a belligerent black women, who, not coincidentally, has the exact same absurd hat that his mother was wearing at the beginning of the story. He finds this hilarious, thinking, The vision of the two hats, identical, broke upon him with the radiance of a brilliant sunrise. His face was suddenly lit with joy. He could not believe that Fate had thrust upon his mother such a lesson, (11). David Leigh, who wrote an essay concerning O Connor s short fiction, comments on this particular relationship. Airplane Of Hope Speech Airplane of Hope Dear Mr.Hawkins , my former, history teacher, I know you are set in your idea that the destruction of the Berlin Wall was the turning point of WWll, I strongly disagree. Even though there were significant, life changing, humanitarian efforts made by the U.S, the Berlin Airlift was one of the greatest of these efforts. This was one of the strongest humanitarian efforts made because America supplied food for the starving people of West Berlin, granted them the gift of hope when there was nothing left to hope for, and assisted every step of the way until the terrible separation between East Berlin and West Berlin. When the Soviets took their share of Germany with France, Britain, and the U.S., the Soviets made the choice to separate Germany into eastern and western divisions. This was done so that they could extend communism into a war torn Europe. After World War Two, there wouldn t have been any better timing. The war gave them an open door to start communism all over again because no one would ve been able to stop whatever came in their path. The events leading to the Airlift began with Russia s iron fist and persistence to conquer everything. The Russians prayed that the poverty and a war torn Western Europe would give them the chance to spread communism into the western half of Europe (Griffin). At the beginning of the novel, the Indians would have been against any romantic relationship between an Indian woman and a white man. However, by the end of the book, they do not pay attention to the race of Dunbar; rather, they care about his kind personality and the other favorable qualities he possesses. Masculinity In my opinion, Masculinity versus femininity is about the value system refers to genders s role in society. If some country has a low number of masculinuty, means that country s values systems refers to feminimity which is the society is caring others and have a good life quality. But if the country has a high score of masculinity, that is mean the country s society is driven by competition and thought that be the winner means succsessfull. Example: US has 62 for masculinity, it means that US s society is much to masculin. They want to have a lot of achievement as their succes standard, they would love to compete and be the winner instead. Japan has 95 for their score, it shows that Japanese is an absolute masculin, their succsess is define by they become the winner or they can be the best in their field or not. Families were close, children respected their elders, workers worked hard to provide for their families who grew up in nice neighborhoods, and the economy was booming. The forced conformity, neglect of the poor, and segregation are often overlooked when talking about the decade as they were during the time period. Once these women edited their appearances to stand out to a man and learned to be an exceptional wife, they often became bored with their lives of sitting around the house because they were not allowed to go out into the world. Document M takes an excerpt from a doctor s research on why so many women came in with bored looks on their faces asking what was wrong with them. Instead of the doctors telling them to go out and enjoy themselves they often prescribed tranquilizers. These women would wake up and pop a tranquilizer, making them not care that they felt like they did not want to live like that another day. Problems like those were often caused by society s iniquitous codes for life. The insecurities of the individual were caused by the poor societal ethics of the time. Document B shows this where society told women that they had to be beautiful and since no one was born beautiful, they needed to buy products to alter their appearances. This was an example of social conformity, which was another poor ethic of the time. And the people in the houses all went to the university, where they were put in boxes and they all came out the same This excerpt from document G, a popular folk song of the era, Little Boxes , tried to bring forth the problem with the conformity issue.
