The During The Reign Of Henry Viii
During the reign of Henry VIII, England had witnessed the most dramatic enforcement of the power
of the king. The events leading up to the English Reformation were the catalyst for major changes
with the political and religious power of the king that would be carried on throughout English history.
The problems that the Medieval English Church faced were some of the major reasons why the
reformation took place.Even though there were external factors that influenced the separation of the
Church of England from the Roman Catholic Church, many of the internal problems that the Medieval
church faced helped shape the mindset of the English people to want reform. Since a great portion of
English society was based around the church, the ongoing conflict between the church and the
king, anti clericalism , and internal problems within the Catholic Church played a major role in the
onset of the English Reformation.
One of the first major problems that the church faced was the Great Schism. From 1387 to 1417, three
men were considered to be the pope, which had never happened in Catholic history before. In 1305,
the papacy was moved to Avignon, France and began taxing bishops and cardinals, and the bishops
and cardinals taxed the priests, who in turn demanded money from churchgoers. The reason why they
were being taxed was because the papacy was no longer center in Rome. The Avignon papacy
developed a reputation for corruption and greed, which caused for there to be a need for the Pope

Wells Fargo Scandal
The Wells Fargo scandal involved a variety of stakeholders who have stake in the issue; however, the
main stakeholders include the consumers, the employees and their families, and stockholders of the
organization. The affect these stakeholders suffer varies, but the ultimate affect the scandal has had is
violation of trust by Wells Fargo and its leadership. When examining this situation, the main
stakeholders who suffered the greatest harm from the scandal were the customers who fell victim to
the fraud and had their privacy violated by an organization they trusted. In the course text, Trevino and
Nelson spoke of the importance of trust and its importance in a service economy. Wells Fargo

Assessing The Nutrient Advantage And The Underlying...
Assessing Economic Benefit of Various Lupin Management Methods
This study aimed to assess the nutrient advantage and the underlying economic benefit of brown
manuring vs. green manuring of three different lupin cultivars for boosting soil nitrogen reserves for
the following crop. Fertiliser input costs continue to escalate as a result of market demand and coupled
with the increasing herbicide resistant issues; producers are turning to the increasingly popular tool of
manuring crops in an attempt to manage the two different problems in today s farming systems. We
chose to assess three lupin cultivars relevant to Western Australian cropping systems; Belara (Lupinus
angustofolius), Albus (Lupinus albus) and Andromeda (Lupinus albus). ... Show more content on

Brown manuring is becoming more common and is the no till form of green manuring, the option to
use a nonselective herbicide to spray out the crop and the weeds at flowering instead of cultivation
(Peltzer 2014) (Patterson et al. 2013). The option to double knock weeds provides good weed kill,
whilst standing residues help maintain soil structure and reduce moisture loss (Peltzer 2014)
(Patterson 2012).
Methods
Prior to sowing the trial area was fertilised on the 14th of May with the product, Nitrphoska Perfect at
350kg/ha with a package consisting of: N(15):P(2.2):K(16.6):S(8.1):Mg(1.2):Ca(8)+Trace Super

(58): S (31): Mg (4.2): Ca (50.3) + Trace had enough available nitrogen to feed the equivalent of a two
tonne wheat crop yield. Lupins cultivars were planted at twelve inch spacing s on the 11th of June.
Trial design allowed for a buffer at either end of the plots to not affect the trial itself. For each of the
three cultivars the treatments were randomised and were replicated to increase reliability of results
(view figure 1). Each of the plot sizes were 1m in length and contained three windrows of each
cultivar. Soil tests were taken from each individual cultivar in each plot on the 12th of August to test
for nitrate levels. Lupins were then

First Amendment Rights Research Paper
Well I would let others to express their political beliefs even if I didn t agree because the idea of first
amendments rights include freedom of speech, religion, and press which allows them to do so. But if
they are unconventional participation in actives they believe in them which can lead to violence, civil
disobedience, and vandalism. I think that s not expressing the first amendments rights because you re
breaking the law and doing things in a non peaceful way. I would let other write petitions, attend
rallies, from groups, vote, and have protests if they are peaceful. I think that we as people are not free
to a certain extend we are somewhat free to express ourselves on what we may feel is right or wrong.

Sherry Argov s Well, Why Men Love Bitch
Do you feel like you are too nice? Have you ever felt like you lost yourself in your relationship? Well,
Why Men Love Bitches by Sherry Argov, New York Times bestselling author, explains why strong
willed women are more attractive to males versus the yes woman. The book introduces nine concepts
to women about the importance of holding their own in a relationship. Argov provides a unique
perspective of a remix advice column by using her endless (100 to be exact) attraction principles to
supply a go to guide on big tips to dating and being in a relationship. With the inclusion of multiple
real life scenarios, she advises women on how to move from Doormat to Dreamgirl by comparing and

Giving away too much is something the nice girl struggles with because she tries to accept the male s
normative restrictions. Whereas, the bitch plays by her own rules because in the relationship she s the
boss of herself, not him. Knowing a woman is the content of her own life, says to the man I m not
knocking myself out for you. The reassurances of realness with oneself deepens with tips on how to

Rise Of Humanity Dbq
Rise of Humanity The Renaissance was a period of discovery and somehow turned the world upside
down. The Middle Ages were dominated by the Roman Catholic Church with a focus on the sinful
man, few people owned land and most were illiterate. During the 1300 s, education started to increase
because improvements in farm production increased product, this allowed serfs and lords to move to
towns. The invention of the printing press spread the Renaissance and humanist thinking because
books, bibles, and ect. were now available to common men. The Renaissance changed man s view of
the world in at least three ways: an emphasis on individualism, how one s life should be lived and
scientific discoveries. To begin with, the clearest reason of the break with the tedious Medieval culture
comes from the visual arts. To illustrate, images: Madonna Enthroned Between Two Angels by Duccio
di Buoninsegna, late 13th century, it shows Mother Mary on a throne with the baby Jesus on her lap
(Doc A). The Mother Mary and her child painting don t illustrate its subjects in a very realistic way.

medieval play focused on death, sin and the final judgment when God decides whether a person is
going to heaven or hell. This reflects Middle Ages perception that living on earth is meaningless; it s
afterlife that really matters. Although, Hamlet by William Shakespeare stated, What a piece of work is
a man... in apprehension like god! (Doc B). The passage from Hamlet, by contrast, shows a man as
somebody magnificent, not somebody simply doing time on Earth until they die. Whereas in
Everyman, people wait gloomily for God s verdict on the Day of Reckoning, in the Shakespeare
passage, man s ability to understand is like

Analysis Of The Garden Of Good And Evil By John Berendt
The world is filled with the idea that the righteous and just rule and villains are punished for their
crimes. However, in truth few villains are punished and many are not only unpunished, but exalted.
They are held above other men not on the merits of honor, valor, or dignity. Instead they are carried on
absolute force of the will and the blinding light of their charisma. Two such figures stand proudly as
the focus of the two books to be discussed. The first book, written by New York journalist John
Berendt, entitled Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil recounts the many and varied
acquaintances of its author as he embeds himself deeper into the unique culture of Savannah. In many
ways the people Berendt describes seem too perfect in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lost in a modern world Savannah stagnates. Hidden beneath the history and the charm of Savannah is
a rot. The corruption of society s elite, a decay of morality that is ignored rather than hidden and
condoned rather than condemned. Berendt s work exposes the rot beneath the paint without
judgement. He presents the reader with the evidence as he has witnessed it. Savannah a city removed
from the world, filled with larger than life personalities that could only exist in Savannah. Desperate
to protect the lifestyle they have constructed around themselves. They fiercely maintain the order of
Savannah by protecting the corruption of the old order and pretending that the faded façades have not
succumb to rot; the pretense of elegance is more important than reality. The outside world is not
welcome in Savannah and neither are the common allowed to rise above their station. The Savannah
presented by Berendt s book offers a rogue s galley of corruption hidden by a veneer of respectability.
Men and women who present one face to the world and wear another in the private moments. Several
of Berendt s figures stand in stark contrast to the polite and quiet Savannah society. One such person is
James Williams an outsider but a figure of great respect and position in the elite circles of Savannah
society. For example, Williams annual Christmas Party is a seasonal event of great concern to the local
elite of Savannah the guest

Analysis Of The Book Scoops
This odd creature approaches, scoops Becky up with one hand, and holds her up so he can look at her
better. His hand wraps easily around her. He brings her closer to his face and sticks his tongue out to
lap up her juices. It is so large it covers her entire pussy. Her clit throbs with need and she clinches in
spasms of need.
Dawng brings her back to investigate her more. He pushes at her entrance with a finger. Becky moans
with anticipation. The finger enters her and he twists it around inside of her. He shoves roughly deep
into her. He callously shoves a second finger into her. She screams in pain, but still she bucks up
against his hand trying to get more. Strongly orgasming, she soon coats his fingers with her juices.
Dawng pulls his fingers out of her quickly and forces one into her anus. He works on her, thrusting
with his finger vigorously. The pain is intense but she cannot help her body s responses. She arches up
to give better access to her anus. Holding her tight, he picks up speed. He rapidly shoves his finger
repeatedly into her. She feels her asshole stretching; it has to be tearing, when he forces a second
finger alongside the first one. It is too much for her, the intense pain only succeeds in arousing her
more. Her screams of pain go unheeded as Dawng fiercely shoves and twists his fingers in her ass.
The monster flips Becky over on her stomach. The fingers seem to work even more powerfully. Becky

Essay On Spirometry
I am going to presume that if you are reading this article on Jane s website, you have COPD [or other
lung disease]. I am also going to take a big leap and presume that you have all done a breathing test
called spirometry? I ask this because statistics show that a surprising number of people have been
diagnosed with COPD, but have never had spirometry done. That is like diagnosing a patient with
diabetes without ever testing their blood sugar level. Spirometry is done using a piece of equipment
called a spirometer. The term spiro comes from the Latin language and means to breathe, and meter
(derived from either Old English, French or Greek...take your pick) means to measure. The spirometer
is not a new invention. In 1846 an Englishman named John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Effects Of Gun Control On The United States
McKenna Schlickman: Gun Control There has been a huge increase of gun related deaths in the US
United States and the related stories have been all over the news and newspapers. Taking guns out of
circulation could be helpful, but is not likely to completely solve the problem. A current issue in the
United States is gun control, and whether or not the government can, or should take away our right to
own them is the big debate. There have been numerous situations covered by the news media where
guns have been used to take lives in an outburst of anger, or during a mental breakdown of some kind.
Currently, it seems that the government is trying to take away all guns including ones that people use
for sport, hunting and self defense. Gun control involves the efforts to regulate or control the sales and
distribution of guns. The history of preventing private ownership of firearms goes back to colonial
days. Gun control has been an issue in the United States for multiple decades. For example, in 1692,
Massachusetts colonies did not allow firearms in public places Maryland s, early laws prevented
slaves, former slaves, and Roman Catholics from owning firearms. The Second Amendment states that

Because this story started as it was happening you have to figure out what the conflict in the story is;
this intrigues the reader by peeking their curiosity into what that conflict may be. In the passage it
opens with Hester slightly persuading her husband s seemingly stubborn attitude. She states, William,
I don t think it would hurt you to let the boys go to the circus in town tomorrow. As if she assumes that
his mind it already made up. She proceeds to pepper him with comments, and explain her point like
her husband has said no by saying

Populism In Alberta
Already in the spotlight after the scandals that marred the previous Redford leadership, the
Progressive Conservative Party under Jim Prentice had to prove their capabilities to the Albertans who
voted for them in 2012. Just after his election as Premier of Alberta, Prentice made an arcane deal with
then leader of the Official Opposition, Danielle Smith. This resulted in the floor crossing of 9
Wildrose Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) to the Progressive Conservative Party. While
this seemed like a favorable move for Prentice, it resulted in the alienation of many of the Albertans
who strategically voted for the Progressive Conservatives in 2012 in an effort to hinder a Wildrose
majority in the legislature. Furthermore, the move proved factious with fiscally conservative voters
who chose to vote Wildrose instead of Progressive Conservative in the 2015 election. In fact, it was
found that nearly 25% of individuals who voted PC in 2012, voted for the New ... Show more content

Furthermore, populism plays an imperative role in Alberta s political culture. In fact, Stewart and
Archer (2000) maintain that Alberta politics is leadership politics... encouraging direct, populist links
between the leader and the public (pg 172 173). Hence, Prentice s decision to receive Wildrose floor
crossers, as well as make hazardous public statements may have annulled the possibility of a populist
link between Albertans and his leadership. Furthermore, it is important to note that while positive
perceptions of Prentice were faltering amongst Albertan voters, the Progressive Conservative s
campaign strategy was to portray the party leader as front and centre. This was despite the growing
disaffection of Albertan voters towards Prentice. Therefore, the strategy undertaken by the Progressive
Conservatives jeopardized their party s support, and contributed to the election s drastic

The Veldt, By Ray Bradbury
When walking through a college campus in 2016, a person can see how much technology consumes a
peoples life. One can see people texting on their phones, riding on hover boards, and using iPads to
order food at a restaurant. What used to be inconceivable in the 1950s is now the norm 66 years later
The science fiction short story The Veldt, by Ray Bradbury, was written in the 1950s, yet gives the
reader perspective on the dangers of advancing technology as a prophecy of our future. In The Veldt,
the two parents, Lydia and George, are affluent and spoil their children, Peter and Wendy with
technology, which ultimately leads to the parents death. Using Lois Tyson s critical theory of
structuralism, this paper will give perspective on the science fiction aspect of the story described
through the setting.
While analyzing the story, the reader can get a sense of the family s wealth. They live in a lavish home
that does everything for them. The house cooks, cleans, and transports each person to whichever room
they would like to go to. In the story in says:
They walked down the hall of their soundproofed Happylife Home, which had cost them thirty
thousand dollars installed, this house which clothed and fed and rocked them to sleep and played and
sang and was good to them. Their approach sensitized a switch somewhere and the nursery light
flicked on when they came within ten feet of it. Similarly, behind them, in the halls, lights went on and
off as they left them behind, with a

Tarleton State University Problems
Freshman year of college, a time of joy, and frustrations. Thrust into a new world of opportunity and
comradery, but also no longer having the guiding hand of a parent or guardian to assist in troubled
times. We now are faced to deal with problems our own. Here at Tarleton State University, two major
issues that stem from very simple problems are finding a parking spot and also lack of variety in the
dining hall. I interviewed several people and discovered that these are small things to the outside
world but to those afflicted by these things they can be the thing that makes a difference between
doing well in class and being successful, or not being able to focus in class or being able to go to class
at all. Naomi Rockler Gladen wrote a list ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the number of people here at TSU, we are ill equipped to handle to large number of cars that
students are bringing. The system in place currently consists of the following; the main parking lots
that surround the residential halls, once those fill up the other students go to a dedicated parking lot
about a five minute walk from the halls. However, this year the student load is too great, so a new
overflow lot has been designated on the other side of the campus. In my personal experience, I have
had to go to that lot before, and even that one is almost over capacity. One night while riding with a
friend, we were just leaving and there was two or three other cars just sitting there waiting for us to get
out of the mediocre spot instead of looking around for another spot, as we left the parking lot, it
became clear why they did that, there were no other spots available. When we got back it took about
an hour to find a parking spot as we had to check all the other lots for a spot, and ended up parking on
the opposite side of campus to our dorms. Other students I asked stated that during the week, there s
very little chance of getting a parking spot. Only Friday morning through Sunday afternoon are there
any reasonable amount of parking spots in any of the parking

Athena was one of his only supporters. Later on in the epic on page 120 in the Adventures of Ulysses
it says, Athene heard it. She went to Zeus and asked him to call the gods into council. That s when she
decided to persuade the gods into allowing him a sign of hope since Poseidon was not present. She
was his mentor because she looked out for him. After defeating Troy Odysseus gets to the actual part
of his adventure also known as the threshold. Odysseus encounters with The Cyclops named
Polyphemus and is cursed by Poseidon which is now one of Odysseus enemies. Circe, Nausicaa, and
Ino were his allies because they all attempt to help him try to get back to the ordinary world which

ordeal would be him returning home and getting revenge for what they did to him and his family. He

kingdom.

Analysis Of Breath, A Blow A Kiss And Sand By Tim Winton
Many of Tim Winton s fictional texts mirror moments in his own life, and with an understanding of
Winton s personal context, we can begin to discover the importance of these events and an
understanding into why many of his text orbit around similar ideas. Through the insight given in his
landscape memoirs, Lands Edge and Island Home, a more considered reading of his fictional texts;
Breath, A Blow, A Kiss and Sand can be found. Specifically, these texts explore the role that landscape
and place have had in shaping his perspectives and distaste of the expectations of Australian males.
These texts each explore certain aspects of the expectations that men all over Australia are subjected
to that Winton strongly opposes. Winton grew up in the 1960 s middle class suburb of Karrinyup, WA,
his working class Christian family s beliefs and values, and events in his early life have evolved to
form many of his present day values towards landscape and masculinity.
Through his relationship with the land, Tim Winton was able to come to terms with the expectations of
West Australian Masculinity, and define his own version. Surfing and free driving was first introduced
to Winton in his teenage years after moving to the coastal town of Albany. Before this, surfing had
been a very female dominated sport, in an interview with ABC news Winton describes, how strange it
was to see men doing something so beautiful, something so pointless, so elegant. With little to keep
himself occupied in the

Pius XII Rationale
What was Pope Pius XII s rationale for not explicitly condemning the Nazi persecution of the Jews?
(How can we explain his diplomatic or strategic approach to this issue?)
World War II was a contentious period in the long blighted history of Europe. By 1942 most of Europe
was under a totalitarian regime, experiencing the most conscientious effort to eradicate a race of
people in history, the Holocaust. A spectator of this carnage was the Catholic Church, whose
leadership remained silent towards the Holocaust. Pope Pius XII chose to combat the Nazis through
quiet diplomacy, never explicitly condemning the Nazi s treatment and massacre of the Jews. Pius XII
s silence was prompted by a number of factors, which he believed were necessary to protecting the
European Jews. At the beginning of the war, Pius XII chose to leave any condemnation of the Nazis to
the local bishops because he believed that they were in a better position to assess the dangers posed by
the oppressive regimes. Pius XII felt that if had condemned the Nazis, he would have endangered the
Jews, citing that when a Catholic Bishop in Belgium spoke out against the Nazi s 20,000 Jews were
killed, if he had condemned the Nazis a possible 400,000 Jews could have been killed in response.
This rationalization comes from the idea that in order to avoid exacerbating the situation, Pius XII
would have to remain silent against the Nazis. Pius XII s silence can be further explained by his
willingness to negotiate with the

Jean Domat, Montesquieu And Jean Jacques Rousseau
Government is built on the premises of the established ideas of former politicians and then the new
outlooks of recent politicians. All ideas on government are based on the structure and laws of former
civilizations. Thus, many politicians can have similar viewpoints on government due to basing their
ideas on the same former structures. But, in contrast new government structures include a variety of
variations. Therefore, Jean Domat, Montesquieu and Jean Jacques Rousseau have major differences in
their outlooks on government, but they do share similar aspects. To start off with, Jean Domat was a
French jurist who ideas stem from the kings practice of royal absolutism. In addition, Domat also
established a large presence of the law of God within her work. Domat viewed man as each person is a
member of society and must obey God faithfully. In addition, there is emphasis on the obedience of
man to God. While God has many rights, man has little to none except to acknowledge the truth and
what God requires of them. God is the dominant power and man has little say. Domat states that there
are two types of government. The first is the relationship between children and parents. Children
respect their parents the head of the family. The second government is formed through variety within
employments, which leads to a necessary head to unite society. For those who govern society, power is
given to them. For since God is the only natural sovereign of men, their judge, their

The Hockey Players Of Gretzky
From the moment Wayne Gretzky strapped on his first pair of skates at the age of two, he has been
known as one of the best players ever to play in the National Hockey League and is known worldwide.
Like many other professional hockey players, Gretzky was born in Canada, Ontario, Canada on
January 26, 1961. At six years old, he was already playing hockey with older kids and when he played
in peewee, he dominated. His final year of peewee, he scored an astonishing 378 goals. As Gretzky
grew up, he continued to train and become one of the best in Canada for his age and also one of the
best worldwide. After finishing his last season in mediocre competition, he was eventually drafted 3rd
overall into the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout his career in the NHL, Gretzky scored 894 goals, picked up 1,963 assists for a combined
total of 2,857 points. Most people know Gretzky for his years in Edmonton and Los Angeles, but he
was very influential in every city he played in, captaining all four teams he played on, a very
impressive feat. However, he was only captain of the Rangers when the full time captain, Mark
Messier was suspended. Gretzky s +/ rating is also very impressive, a +518 rating for his whole NHL
year. His +/ rating is one of the best all time. Gretzky s stats not only show he could play by himself,
but he was also a team player. Gretzky did not have the greatest success in the Stanley Cup Playoffs,
but he still did win a few rings. He reached the playoffs sixteen times, and made it to the playoffs at
least once with the four teams he played for. However, he only won Stanley Cups with the Edmonton
Oilers and he did that four times in five years: 1983 84, 1984 85, and 1986 87,1987 88. Though
Gretzky would have liked to win some more Cups, he is happy to be sitting at home with four rings on
his fingers. Wayne Gretzky holds many records in the NHL and it is very unlikely most of his records
will be broken anytime soon. He holds or shares 61 NHL records and there is a very high chance
twenty five of those will never be broken. For examples, career points, career goals, and career assists

The Human Gene Therapy
Gene therapy is a technique that uses new genes to treat or prevent disease by replacing or adding new
effective genes. This technique is aimed to allow doctors to treat genetic disorders without the
prescribing drugs or scheduling surgery to correct the disorder. Gene therapy isn t a fully effective
method as of today. It is still undergoing tests. Several of the most common tests include introducing a
new gene into the body to fight against a disease or disorder, replacing a mutated gene with a healthy
gene, and removing a mutated gene in the body that is not functioning as it should be. Gene therapy is
seen to be a fair treatment to diseases or disorders that have no other form of cure. It is sometimes
used for inherited disorders, certain viral infections, and certain cancers. But Gene Therapy is not a
certain option for treatment as of today. It is still under study as success rates are low. Genetic
disorders affect one out ten people. Symptoms vary with each disease or disorder as some can appear
early in a person s life, while others appear at an older age. Genetic disorders cannot be prevented as
they are passed on through a family s genes and is within the DNA unlike a regular disease is caused
by bacteria or a virus. There are two possible ways a genetic disorder can be passed on to the
offspring, or child. One way is caused by dominant genes in which only one gene is altered resulting
in the disorder or disease. The second way is caused by recessive genes in

Comparing Twentieth Century Political Thought Leo Strauss...
Introduction
When it comes to an analysis of twentieth century political thought Leo Strauss and Richard Rorty are
two indispensable figures. Rorty was a pupil of Strauss at the University of Chicago, and was always
quick to acknowledge the influence that his former teacher had on his writing. In the following paper I
will briefly highlight and critique the fundamental arguments presented by the duo. Certainly, Rorty
and Strauss share a degree of commonality in their critique of the Enlightenment. Furthermore, I will
assert that Rorty s pragmatic argument and Strauss esotericism share a degree of kinship. However,
when it comes to a close examination of the works of the respective scholars, it becomes clear that
they had vastly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A clear representation of this dynamic is provided by Plato s allegory of the cave. A particular
philosopher may be able to free themselves from the shadows and experience the delights of the sun
waiting outside, but for Strauss only disaster awaits if said philosopher attempts to re enter the cave
and help those that she/he has left behind.
This leads into Strauss vociferous attack on modern political thought and the Enlightenment project.
According to him, modern society mired in the chaos of intellectual anarchy, characterized by the fact
that political philosophy is in a state of decay or putrefaction. Clearly, Strauss does not hold the
Enlightenment or the transition to modernity in high esteem. In fact as Ronald Beiner affirms, Strauss
entire project is a never ceasing polemic against the Enlightenment, which he blames for the breaking
the aforementioned distinction between the masses and philosophers. For example, the likes of
Hobbes, Spinoza, and Locke may have written in an esoteric manner, but at the same time they
foolishly pursued the idea that this divide could and should be bridged. As Beiner continues, the
cornerstone of Enlightenment thought was the idea that philosophy could benefit society by helping
people to be more educated and tolerant , and thus serve as a valuable tool in advancing humanity as a
whole.

  • 2. The During The Reign Of Henry Viii During the reign of Henry VIII, England had witnessed the most dramatic enforcement of the power of the king. The events leading up to the English Reformation were the catalyst for major changes with the political and religious power of the king that would be carried on throughout English history. The problems that the Medieval English Church faced were some of the major reasons why the reformation took place.Even though there were external factors that influenced the separation of the Church of England from the Roman Catholic Church, many of the internal problems that the Medieval church faced helped shape the mindset of the English people to want reform. Since a great portion of English society was based around the church, the ongoing conflict between the church and the king, anti clericalism , and internal problems within the Catholic Church played a major role in the onset of the English Reformation. One of the first major problems that the church faced was the Great Schism. From 1387 to 1417, three men were considered to be the pope, which had never happened in Catholic history before. In 1305, the papacy was moved to Avignon, France and began taxing bishops and cardinals, and the bishops and cardinals taxed the priests, who in turn demanded money from churchgoers. The reason why they were being taxed was because the papacy was no longer center in Rome. The Avignon papacy developed a reputation for corruption and greed, which caused for there to be a need for the Pope ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Assessing Economic Benefit of Various Lupin Management Methods This study aimed to assess the nutrient advantage and the underlying economic benefit of brown manuring vs. green manuring of three different lupin cultivars for boosting soil nitrogen reserves for the following crop. Fertiliser input costs continue to escalate as a result of market demand and coupled with the increasing herbicide resistant issues; producers are turning to the increasingly popular tool of manuring crops in an attempt to manage the two different problems in today s farming systems. We chose to assess three lupin cultivars relevant to Western Australian cropping systems; Belara (Lupinus angustofolius), Albus (Lupinus albus) and Andromeda (Lupinus albus). ... The option to double knock weeds provides good weed kill, whilst standing residues help maintain soil structure and reduce moisture loss (Peltzer 2014) (Patterson 2012). The Middle Ages were dominated by the Roman Catholic Church with a focus on the sinful man, few people owned land and most were illiterate. During the 1300 s, education started to increase because improvements in farm production increased product, this allowed serfs and lords to move to towns. The invention of the printing press spread the Renaissance and humanist thinking because books, bibles, and ect. were now available to common men. The Renaissance changed man s view of the world in at least three ways: an emphasis on individualism, how one s life should be lived and scientific discoveries. To begin with, the clearest reason of the break with the tedious Medieval culture comes from the visual arts. To illustrate, images: Madonna Enthroned Between Two Angels by Duccio di Buoninsegna, late 13th century, it shows Mother Mary on a throne with the baby Jesus on her lap (Doc A). However, in truth few villains are punished and many are not only unpunished, but exalted. They are held above other men not on the merits of honor, valor, or dignity. Instead they are carried on absolute force of the will and the blinding light of their charisma. Two such figures stand proudly as the focus of the two books to be discussed. Savannah a city removed from the world, filled with larger than life personalities that could only exist in Savannah. Desperate to protect the lifestyle they have constructed around themselves. They fiercely maintain the order of Savannah by protecting the corruption of the old order and pretending that the faded façades have not succumb to rot; the pretense of elegance is more important than reality. The Savannah presented by Berendt s book offers a rogue s galley of corruption hidden by a veneer of respectability. Men and women who present one face to the world and wear another in the private moments. Several of Berendt s figures stand in stark contrast to the polite and quiet Savannah society. I am also going to take a big leap and presume that you have all done a breathing test called spirometry? I ask this because statistics show that a surprising number of people have been diagnosed with COPD, but have never had spirometry done. That is like diagnosing a patient with diabetes without ever testing their blood sugar level. Spirometry is done using a piece of equipment called a spirometer. The term spiro comes from the Latin language and means to breathe, and meter (derived from either Old English, French or Greek...take your pick) means to measure. The spirometer is not a new invention. In 1846 an Englishman named John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These patients cannot easily exhale all of their air, leaving some air in the lungs at the end of exhalation. We refer to this as air trapping. Patients with the Little Lung Syndrome can t get air in because something is restricting the flow of gas into their lungs. Imagine someone putting a wide, very tight belt around your rib cage...what would happen when you tried to take in a deep breath? You couldn t! With restrictive disease; pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, asbestosis, etc...your lungs are very stiff, and they do not inflate easily, so it is hard to take in a deep breath. The Effects Of Gun Control On The United States McKenna Schlickman: Gun Control There has been a huge increase of gun related deaths in the US United States and the related stories have been all over the news and newspapers. Taking guns out of circulation could be helpful, but is not likely to completely solve the problem. A current issue in the United States is gun control, and whether or not the government can, or should take away our right to own them is the big debate. There have been numerous situations covered by the news media where guns have been used to take lives in an outburst of anger, or during a mental breakdown of some kind. Currently, it seems that the government is trying to take away all guns including ones that people use for sport, hunting and self defense. Gun control involves the efforts to regulate or control the sales and distribution of guns. The history of preventing private ownership of firearms goes back to colonial days. Gun control has been an issue in the United States for multiple decades. For example, in 1692, Massachusetts colonies did not allow firearms in public places Maryland s, early laws prevented slaves, former slaves, and Roman Catholics from owning firearms. The Second Amendment states that A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a country Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. • 22. Populism In Alberta Already in the spotlight after the scandals that marred the previous Redford leadership, the Progressive Conservative Party under Jim Prentice had to prove their capabilities to the Albertans who voted for them in 2012. Just after his election as Premier of Alberta, Prentice made an arcane deal with then leader of the Official Opposition, Danielle Smith. This resulted in the floor crossing of 9 Wildrose Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) to the Progressive Conservative Party. While this seemed like a favorable move for Prentice, it resulted in the alienation of many of the Albertans who strategically voted for the Progressive Conservatives in 2012 in an effort to hinder a Wildrose majority in the legislature. Furthermore, the move proved factious with fiscally conservative voters who chose to vote Wildrose instead of Progressive Conservative in the 2015 election. Analysis Of Breath, A Blow A Kiss And Sand By Tim Winton Many of Tim Winton s fictional texts mirror moments in his own life, and with an understanding of Winton s personal context, we can begin to discover the importance of these events and an understanding into why many of his text orbit around similar ideas. Through the insight given in his landscape memoirs, Lands Edge and Island Home, a more considered reading of his fictional texts; Breath, A Blow, A Kiss and Sand can be found. Specifically, these texts explore the role that landscape and place have had in shaping his perspectives and distaste of the expectations of Australian males. These texts each explore certain aspects of the expectations that men all over Australia are subjected to that Winton strongly opposes. Winton grew up in the 1960 s middle class suburb of Karrinyup, WA, his working class Christian family s beliefs and values, and events in his early life have evolved to form many of his present day values towards landscape and masculinity. Through his relationship with the land, Tim Winton was able to come to terms with the expectations of West Australian Masculinity, and define his own version. Surfing and free driving was first introduced to Winton in his teenage years after moving to the coastal town of Albany. • 28. Pius XII Rationale What was Pope Pius XII s rationale for not explicitly condemning the Nazi persecution of the Jews? (How can we explain his diplomatic or strategic approach to this issue?) World War II was a contentious period in the long blighted history of Europe. By 1942 most of Europe was under a totalitarian regime, experiencing the most conscientious effort to eradicate a race of people in history, the Holocaust. A spectator of this carnage was the Catholic Church, whose leadership remained silent towards the Holocaust. Pope Pius XII chose to combat the Nazis through quiet diplomacy, never explicitly condemning the Nazi s treatment and massacre of the Jews. Pius XII s silence was prompted by a number of factors, which he believed were necessary to protecting the European Jews. At the beginning of the war, Pius XII chose to leave any condemnation of the Nazis to the local bishops because he believed that they were in a better position to assess the dangers posed by the oppressive regimes. Pius XII felt that if had condemned the Nazis, he would have endangered the Jews, citing that when a Catholic Bishop in Belgium spoke out against the Nazi s 20,000 Jews were killed, if he had condemned the Nazis a possible 400,000 Jews could have been killed in response. This rationalization comes from the idea that in order to avoid exacerbating the situation, Pius XII would have to remain silent against the Nazis. Pius XII s silence can be further explained by his willingness to negotiate with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Jean Domat, Montesquieu And Jean Jacques Rousseau Government is built on the premises of the established ideas of former politicians and then the new outlooks of recent politicians. All ideas on government are based on the structure and laws of former civilizations. Thus, many politicians can have similar viewpoints on government due to basing their ideas on the same former structures. But, in contrast new government structures include a variety of variations. Therefore, Jean Domat, Montesquieu and Jean Jacques Rousseau have major differences in their outlooks on government, but they do share similar aspects. To start off with, Jean Domat was a French jurist who ideas stem from the kings practice of royal absolutism. In addition, Domat also established a large presence of the law of God within her work. Domat viewed man as each person is a member of society and must obey God faithfully. In addition, there is emphasis on the obedience of man to God. While God has many rights, man has little to none except to acknowledge the truth and what God requires of them. God is the dominant power and man has little say. Domat states that there are two types of government. The first is the relationship between children and parents. Children respect their parents the head of the family. The second government is formed through variety within employments, which leads to a necessary head to unite society. For those who govern society, power is given to them. • 31. The Human Gene Therapy Gene therapy is a technique that uses new genes to treat or prevent disease by replacing or adding new effective genes. This technique is aimed to allow doctors to treat genetic disorders without the prescribing drugs or scheduling surgery to correct the disorder. Gene therapy isn t a fully effective method as of today. It is still undergoing tests. Several of the most common tests include introducing a new gene into the body to fight against a disease or disorder, replacing a mutated gene with a healthy gene, and removing a mutated gene in the body that is not functioning as it should be. Gene therapy is seen to be a fair treatment to diseases or disorders that have no other form of cure. It is sometimes used for inherited disorders, certain viral infections, and certain cancers. But Gene Therapy is not a certain option for treatment as of today. It is still under study as success rates are low. Genetic disorders affect one out ten people. Introduction When it comes to an analysis of twentieth century political thought Leo Strauss and Richard Rorty are two indispensable figures. Rorty was a pupil of Strauss at the University of Chicago, and was always quick to acknowledge the influence that his former teacher had on his writing. In the following paper I will briefly highlight and critique the fundamental arguments presented by the duo. Certainly, Rorty and Strauss share a degree of commonality in their critique of the Enlightenment. Furthermore, I will assert that Rorty s pragmatic argument and Strauss esotericism share a degree of kinship. This leads into Strauss vociferous attack on modern political thought and the Enlightenment project. According to him, modern society mired in the chaos of intellectual anarchy, characterized by the fact that political philosophy is in a state of decay or putrefaction. For example, the likes of Hobbes, Spinoza, and Locke may have written in an esoteric manner, but at the same time they foolishly pursued the idea that this divide could and should be bridged.
