The Number Three In Dante s Inferno
Symbolism can be utilized in diverse manners but remains a prominent aspect of life within most
religions throughout the world. Out of ample differential symbolic numbers, Dante showcases the
number three throughout the allegorical tale of his journey through hell. Dante bases Inferno upon the
Christian idea of hell by using the religiously symbolic number three within his choice of poetic
structure, the monsters displayed, and the associations of the number three in the Bible.
Dante s poetic masterpiece The Divine Comedy is composed of three individual cántica: Inferno,
Purgatorio, and Paradiso. The three works include 33 cantos in each poem, with the exception of
Inferno, totaling 100 cantos, which is the square of 10; 10 is the perfect number, for it is composed
solely of the square of the Trinity plus 1, which represents the Unity of God. (McAllister xxii). The
rhyme scheme of the 100 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Three beasts face against Dante within the beginning of the narrative poem: The Leopard, The Lion,
and The She Wolf of Incontinence. Alongside to meeting the three animals, Dante also metaphorically
encounters the three main kinds of sin committed within the Christian world: Incontinence, violence
and fraud. Each sin corresponds according to a sin in the Bible and matches with each of the three
beasts. Once Dante follows away from the three monsters and towards a pathway through hell, he
encounters a ravenous three headed dog of Hell who characterizes as monstrous Cerebus, the ravening
beast (Alighieri 44 45). Dante s usage of the number three within his choice of monsters furthermore
portrays the reoccurring usage of the number in Inferno. In addition, Dante encounters Satan whom
has three faces, each of different color. Each monster encountered by Dante within the narrative poem
Inferno symbolically displays the number three which moreover connects the number to the Christian

The Consequences Of Reverting The Antioxidance Of GTE
Reverting the antioxidants enzymes to their normal values after administration of GTE. The
underlying mechanisms attributed to the hepatoprotective influence of GTE against NP could be
contributed to the following: GTE have been shown to neutralize and scavenges reactive oxygen
species, thereby reducing the damage to lipid membranes, proteins and nucleic acids in cell free
systems (Khan et al., 2014). Also, It has also been suggested that catechins similar to vitamin C
convert vitamin E radical (α tocopheroxyl radical) to its active form (α tocopherol) (Mukai et al..
2005; Zhou et al., 2005). Furthermore, GTE reduces the concentration of lipid peroxidation in the liver
and serum (Skrzydlewska et al., 2002; Crespy and Williamson 2004). ... Show more content on

When GTE was administered, it significantly reduced the level of DNA fragmentation and the number
of apoptotic cells of African catfish due to its antioxidant ability that could reduce the toxic effect of
NP(Ibrahim et al., 2015). Also, Pan et al.2007 reported that EGCG could induce the activation of
intracellular signaling cascades such as the mitogen activated kinase pathway and phosphoinositol 3
kinase pathway which had potent roles in anti apoptotic signaling. In the same line, EGCG and its
methylated metabolite protect against necrosis and apoptosis by suppressing caspase 3 expression,
reducing the expression of proapoptotic genes and inducing the antiapoptotic genes expression
(Kagaya et al., 2003; Al Refai et al., 2014, Ogaly et al., 2015). Moreover, GTE contains also minerals
that function as co factors for antioxidant enzymes. Zinc traces present in GTE considered as a
selective inhibitor of apoptosis (Marachan et al., 2012). The current work demonstrated normal
histological picture in both the control and green tea groups. The NP treated C. gariepinus revealed
many histological changes at light microscopic level including congested central veins, infiltration of
mononuclear inflammatory cells, necrosis and vacuolation. Similar results were recorded by (Weber et
al., 2003; Uguz et al., 2003, ). Congested central veins

Supply Chain Management at Airbus
Supply Chain Management At Airbus Implementing RFID Technology
INTRODUCTION
Airbus was the world s leading aircraft manufacturer in 2009 going by the number of aircraft
delivered during the year. The company had been using RFID in its operations since 1997 but on a
lower scale and targeted at improving its internal processes. In mid 2000s, Airbus started using RFID
technology more widely, starting with its spare parts supply chain. After sucessful pilot tests, Airbus
came out with the ambitious plan of adopting a holistic approach by implementing RFID at its
suppliers facilities, in its own operations, and at its customers operations in 2008. The plan was to
achieve higher efficiencies in its operations and also to reduce costs. The ... Show more content on

Sup@irworld had four domains including Sourcing, BuySide, eSupplyChain, andd Found@tion which
could be accessed from a common portal platform, with a further dedicated portal according to the
target segment Airbus customers, employees and suppliers.
Within the Sourcing domain, potential suppliers were identified in a transparent manner, as they
registered with Airbus through the Internet where they could provide details about the strengths,
quality standards, etc.
The BuySide domain allowed purchasing managers in Airbus to select products to be purchased from
an electronic standardized catalogue and send the product list for approval from the concerned
authorities. On approval, orders were generated automatically and electronically sent to suppliers. If
products are not on the catalogue, quotations from suppliers are requested. It created automation
across all Airbus entities from ordering to payment.
The eSupplyChain domain. Covered the entire supply chain right from forecasting product needs,
generating purchase orders, receiving and storing goods, conduct quality checks, and invoicing.
The Found@tion domain had a database which contained information about suppliers, products, past
contracts, required quality standards, and information about logistic providers. This domain used data

The Battle On Pork Chop Hill
In many war stories officers are depicted as the, heroes of the battle based off of what was credited in
history. Some supported the war efforts exhausted in order to contain communism and others felt like
we were fighting an unjust war. The views of the Battle on Pork Chop Hill are no different. US forces
originally occupied a location originally known as Hill 355 in October of 1951. The tactics used to
capture and fight for this location were brutal, and exhausting for both sides. Various Infantry and
Artillery units fought to capture and defend this hill. Using Artillery during this war was key for U.S.
forces to capture and control Pork Chop Hill. Even though some would say it was a long drawn out
war, it shows the importance of artillery during battle because it provides soldiers basic leadership
skills, strengthens future generations of soldiers, and their basic military heritage and tactics. The
Battle on Pork Chop Hill is a significant event in the war because it lasted longer than any other single
battle during the Korean War. The Field Artillery was important to these battles and so were the effects
it had on these events. Many lives were lost as a result of fighting for this hill including Soldiers from
the NATO coalition forces, United States, North Korea, and China. Both sides had constructed such
great defensive tactics that if they tried to advance, it would result in loss of more men. Like many
wars, this battle focuses on political views. When

The Power Of The Koch Brothers
Charles and David Koch, the Koch brothers , and their network allegedly raised over $400 million
dollars in the 2012 election cycle. Most of that money was donated to the Republican party. For 2016,
the Koch brothers are planning to spend even more money nearly a billion dollars. So, who are the
Koch brothers? What do they stand for?* And how powerful are they in the world of politics?
Well, the Koch brothers both tie for 6th richest person in the world, with a net worth of 42 billion
dollars each. They are both the CEOs of Koch Industries, mainly based in oil and petroleum
production. (no relation to coca cola) Worth about $115 billion dollars, Koch Industries is the second
most profitable private company in America. Some of the most well known subsidiary brands include

Charles Koch draws inspiration from history s free market champions like Alex de Tocqueville and
Adam Smith. He says the principles of a free society... have shaped [his life] and America itself .
David Koch, too, shares these ideals, and ran as the Libertarian Party s Vice President nominee in
1980.
Reporters speculate that their political beliefs were shaped by an anti Communist upbringing during
the McCarthy Era. Their father worked abroad with Soviet engineers in the 1930s, some of whom
were later brutally purged by Stalin. As a result of the violence, the elder Koch returned to America
staunchly anti communist, which undoubtedly contributed to his sons suspicions of big government.
The Kochs libertarian interests don t strictly follow either the Republican or Democratic ticket. The
brothers have contributed modest sums of money to liberal organizations, and voiced support for
things like gay marriage, abortion rights, and marijuana

State Fidelity In The Odyssey
Odysseus, the main character of The Odyssey, is a man of great courage who is married to Penelope,
Queen of Ithaca. Even though it is clear that Odysseus is married to Penelope, he is involved in
intimate relations with a few goddesses on his journey home to Ithaca from the Trojan War. For
example, regardless of Odysseus longing to return home, he is tempted first by Calypso, spending
eight years imprisoned on her island, and ultimately remaining true to Penelope in his heart. Also, he
spends a year with Circe, a seductress, in order to liberate his men from living as swine. Furthermore,
Odysseus faithfulness to Penelope is almost compromised when he and his men pass the Sirens
women who entice men to their death utilizing their beautiful voices. Additionally, Greek and
Christian marriage standards are distinctly different. Christians believe that marriage is a sacrament, or
union between one man and one woman that is blessed by the church, while pagans hold to a belief of
self uniting marriage known as handfasting a historical term for a betrothal or wedding that is
sometimes acknowledged as a temporary engagement. This paper will explain how Odysseus

Clarke s Cosmological Argument On The Existence Of God
Clarke s Cosmological argument has been around for multiple centuries the purpose of this argument
being to try to prove the existence of God. Although this argument sounds valid meaning that IF
premises 1 and 2 are true, then the conclusion must be true while many people have accepted this
argument, it has also caused a lot of questioning and skepticism, mainly because of what the
Cosmological Argument uses to support its argument the Principle of Sufficient reason. Before
determining whether the PSR effectively supports Clarke s Cosmological argument, one must know
the Cosmological Argument s premises and what they mean. Premise 1 of Clarke s Cosmological
Argument asserts that every being is either dependent or independent meaning ... Show more content

For example, if you see a dog at a veterinary, you know that the dog exists due to its parents
(component 1 of the Principle of Sufficient Reason). You also know that there is an explanation for the
dog being at the veterinary: the dog might be sick or is going to go through a medical procedure
(component 2 of the Principle of Sufficient Reason).
Although the Principle of Sufficient Reason seems to be straight forward it is heavily questioned and
fails to effectively support Clarke s Cosmological arguments for many reasons, one of them being its
failure to think about or recognize Brute Facts. Brute Facts are things that can t be explained; in this
case, the inability to explain the existence of a being. An example of a Brute Fact is God, since his
existence can t be explained but his existence is considered to be true by many people. Although it has
not been explicitly confirmed that Brute Facts actually exist, the Principle of Sufficient Reason and its
premises fails to acknowledge the possibility of Brute facts existing, therefore making the PSR to be
less certain and accepted since it requires that everything has to have an explanation. This failure to
acknowledge Brute Facts by the PSR also makes it a weak argument, therefore also making it not
effectively support Clarke s Cosmological Argument.

The Growth of Social Networking Sites Essay
The participants and audience for SNSs is growing rapidly. Statistics published become quickly out
dated and it is interesting to observe both the international and national trends of Internet usage
generally over the years, as well as those specific to the use of Social Networking Sites.
Access to technology has become an integral part of education, socialisation and industry related
requirements, and accordingly Internet usage is evolving and growing rapidly. A survey conducted by
the Australian Bureau of Statics in 2003 found that in the 12 months prior to April 2003, 95% of
Australian children, aged between five and fourteen years had used a computer. The frequency of their

rural area of the Northern Territory (Rennie and Patterson, 2008) discovered that improved and more

the development of enthusiasm for digital technologies and social networking sites. More than 60% of
the participants in this study reported accessing the internet and social networking sites on a daily
basis.
American studies also reflect and expand on these limited Australian statistics. A 2004 PEW Internet

level of internet access, whether this was at home, school or another public space such as a local
library. By 2010 this number had dramatically increased to 93% (Pew, 2010.)
In 2006 PEW found that 55% of online American adolescents (aged between the years of twelve to

The Importance Of Pressure On High School Sports
Pressure and High School Sports seem to go hand in hand these days. Whether we like pressure or not,
it is difficult to avoid. We experience pressure because of standards that others expect us to
accomplish. While some people may do well under pressure, many of us do bad under pressure.
The Kimberly Girls Volleyball team will experience a lot of pressure as they head into the State
tournament this weekend. Expectations are very high for them because they have had a lot of success
so far this season. I talked to a girl who is currently on the varsity volleyball team that is going to
state. Payton is not a starter and doesn t get to see the court often but she is just as important as anyone
else on the team. She discussed with me some of the expectations that coaches and fans have for them.
Every game our coach always tells us not to be satisfied, and that s kinda our team moto. I definitely
think that s the expectation from our coaches is to not be satisfied with a win or how we played just to
always make it better. I believe the expectation from the fans is just to stay positive and work as hard
as we can.
With expectations high from the coaches and fans, this can add a lot of pressure and stress onto the
girls. As Payton said, I definitely think that s the expectation from our coaches it to not be satisfied
with a win or how we played just to always make it better, we can see how they are pressured to win
again because they can t be satisfied with winning one game. They have expectations to make it far in
their season because they are not satisfied after one game, they want to win more and be number one.
I also talked to a fan, Quinn Johnson, and asked what he thought the pressures were on the girls this
year. He replied with: I think this season the pressures are there own standards. Last years team was
not as good so other teams and fans did not expect so much out of them. But after we won the FVA
this year and got the #1 seed for the playoffs more pressure was added to the team coming into
playoffs. This helps to see from a fan perspective what they believe the pressures are and what they
expect the girls to accomplish this season.
As you can probably see, with the girls success this year they

The System Of Criminal Trial Essay
4.6(2) Adversary system
The system of criminal trial as mentioned or directed by the Code is the adversary system based on the
accusatorial method . In this system the prosecutor representing the State (or the people) accuses the
defendant (the accused person) of the commission of some crime; and the law requires him to prove
his case beyond reasonable doubt. The law also provides fair opportunity to the accused person to
defend himself. The judge, more or less, is to work as an umpire between the two contestants.
Challenge constitutes the essence of adversary trial and truth is supposed to emerge from the
controverted facts through effective and constant challenges . Experience has shown that adversary is
by and large dependable for the reconciliation of public and private interest i.e. public interest in
punishing the criminals and private interest in preventing wrongful convictions.
4.6(3) Section 304 of Code of Criminal Procedure: Legal aid to accused at State expense in certain
cases:
Most of the accused persons are poor and uneducated. They cannot afford to engage lawyers for their
defence, nor do they have any legal knowledge and professional skill to safeguard their interests
themselves. Therefore, though the adversary system predicts equal legal rights and opportunities to the
parties to present their respective cases before the court, such legal rights and opportunities would in
practice operate unevenly and harshly, affecting undesirably the poor accused

Bereft Tone
The somber poem of Bereft reflects on the anxieties after a great loss love. Bereft by Robert Frost is
comparing the narrator s past and present loss and lonliness . The use of different and similar feet
patterns lets readers connect sections of the poem to create a better understanding of the meaning. The
trimeter poem does not have a specific foot throughout the entirety of the poem, but the poem uses
dactyls and trochees in various patterns. By looking at the various similarities between lines you can
gain a deeper understanding of the reflection and questioning of his past love loss. The stormy weather
in Bereft is metaphorical to his previous loss of love being realized again. This change as said in line

These lines, which describe the motion and sound of the storm, are thematically creating conflict
between the author and nature. In the follow phrases, Leaves...hissed/ Blindly struck at my
knee.../...sinister in the tone , gives a negative tone to the metaphorical storm within the poem. Their
rhythmic pattern aligns with that of the last lines of the poem starting with Word , which are
describing his loneliness. Word I was in the house alone//Word I was in my life alone, /Word I had no
one left buy God , continue this pattern of very metrical lines of three (13, 15 16. Theses two sections
of lines are not only metrically similar, but thematically. They are no longer questioning the trials of
his loss of love, as he is no longer questioning. The two sections are described through sound, which is
a motif throughout the poem. The storm s description with sound connects with the other passage of
same foot pattern as the narrator believes that someone has spread word of his loneliness, could this be
the nature? These sections are also following the same end rhyme scheme hissed/...missed/...tone and
alone/...alone/...God (9 11, 13,15 16). The meanings may reflect each other in these passages, the
sense of nature being the one acknowledging the narrator s loneliness with the storm. It is not clear
who knows of his loneliness in the poem, but from the similarities in theme and meter it can be
assumed that the storm is spreading word of his

The New Orleans Levee System
On August 29th of 2005, a category 3 hurricane, dubbed Hurricane Katrina, hit the Gulf Coast of the
United States. It brought winds of 100 to 140 miles per hour, and stretched more than 400 miles
across. New Orleans had its first mandatory evacuation ordered the day before, while listing the
Superdome as a shelter for those who couldn t leave town. More than 70 percent evacuated, while the
rest stayed at their homes, or took to shelters, to wait out the storm. The aftermath of Katrina was felt
in Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi, but New Orleans was affected the most by far. In the end,
more than 2000 were either seriously injured or killed, while those who survived were very short on
food, water, first aid, and had very few areas for shelter. A large reason the storm was so devastating
was the fact that the storm was able to cover almost 80 percent of the entire city under a large amount
of water. Before the storm hit, the city used levee systems and flood walls to protect itself from being
flooded. During the storm, however, many failures in the levee system caused close to 80 percent of
the flooding covering the city and the nearby parish. Many know that the levee system failed but few

The Cost-Effective Analysis of a Rotavirus Immunization...
The Cost effectiveness Analysis of a Rotavirus Immunization Program for the United States article
was performed to estimate the economic impact of a national rotavirus immunization program. The
research question being addressed is if the implementation of a rotavirus vaccine program would be
beneficial and cost effective. These are policy relevant questions because it will determine if a
rotavirus vaccine program will be cost effective and valuable enough to employ. These research
questions are not only relevant to healthcare providers, but doctors, hospitals, the vaccine users, and
society as a whole.
Decision analysis is an appropriate method for this case study because the decision to be made is
operations focused and not tactical, it is impartial rather than subjective, and it is repetitive rather than
infrequent. Decision analysis looks to identify the most appropriate alternative outcomes and occurs at
a give point in time in a process. Additionally, it takes the view point of the organization in decision
making, opposed to an individual standpoint.
Date included in the study consisted of the number of doctor and emergency room visits, the number
of incidences, rotavirus infections, mortality estimates, hospitalizations statistics, hospital discharge
data, affected children, and vaccine coverage. Medical costs of the rotavirus are compromised of

Screen writers and movie directors must constantly develop these different types of heroes to please
the many different attitudes and opinions of movie goers. Movie enthusiast all have different reasons
for liking the movie heroes they do and it is up to the screen writers, actors, and directors to

In real life the underdog is hardly ever victorious so movie writers create these underdog heroes to
fulfill the audiences desire to see the underdog actually win once and a while. Movies that show the
underdog as triumphant give real people hope that even though one may be up against a much more
powerful foe, it is possible to come out on top. Superheroes first became extremely popular within the
pages of comic books so it was only natural that film makers adopted the idea of superheroes into
movies as well. People flock to superhero movies to satisfy their need for fantasy. Superhero movies
frequently depict an average Joe who is somehow given amazing super human powers that real men
and women have been fantasizing about for years. When thinking about movies that follow this
sequence of events, the first movie that comes to my mind is Spider Man. The movie starts out by
showing the main character as a weak and nerdy high school student, but a field trip to a research lab
changed his life forever. He is bitten by a spider that gives him super human powers that he uses to
fight crime and injustice. Viewers are enticed by movies like Spiderman because they wish that they
could actually obtain these super human powers too. While many people would like these powers to
have the ability to better society, many would also enjoy the powers for more cynical uses. Many
people can relate to the feeling of being weak and helpless, so seeing heroes like Spiderman in the

Impatience And Nonviolent Liberation Movements
In the context of the social crises that ravaged the United States during the mid to late 1960s, black
ghettos were predominantly radicalized by the youth. Impatience grew, and nonviolent liberation
movements such as the ones of Martin Luther King, saw their influence fall into decline. This lead to
new forms of more virulent struggles that emerged in recent years, with Malcolm X and the Black
Panthers attracting a younger generation that was no longer satisfied with the civil disobedience
approaches that the previous generations employed. Martin Luther King preached and practiced civil
disobedience, as in the refusal to comply with certain laws in a peaceful form of protest. From his I

Postoperative Essay On Epidural Analgesia
Introduction:
Recent estimates indicate that millions of major surgical procedures are performed worldwide each
year and Patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery for malignancy are typical representatives of
such high risk patients. [1]
Major abdominal surgeries induce neurohumoral changes responsible for postoperative pain, various
organ dysfunctions and prolonged hospitalization.
Inadequate pain control is harmful and costly thus an appropriate pain therapy must be used to those
patients.

The presence of high quality analgesia in the postoperative period is very important, to relieve post
surgical pain and improve well being, and also because inadequate pain control may increase
morbidity, lead to prolonged hospital stays, and increase medical costs. [4]
Patient controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) is a widely used postoperative analgesic strategy
because it is very effective and safe method of acute postoperative pain relief. [5]
In these surgeries Epidural analgesia may effectively applied to improve perioperative pain; epidural
analgesia was coupled with improved analgesia, earlier extubation time, better haemodynamics, less
respiratory complications, and superior left ventricular function. [6]
In this study we aimed to investigate the effects of

Societal Impact of Salmonella Essay
Societal Impact of Salmonella
Abstract: Salmonella is a bacterium that causes one of the most common intestinal infections in the
United States Salmonellosis. The chance of contracting this disease is significantly high, and more and
more people are suffering from the symptoms and complications of Salmonella. This paper will
discuss about the disease itself, the current outbreaks that are related to this disease, preventions and
the treatments.
Many say that history repeats itself, and throughout history, the spread of food borne diseases has been
constantly threatening humans. Salmonella, a disease which attacks numerous people a year, has
returned, infected, and put people under panic of what they are eating. According to Foodborne ...

They grow readily in many foods as well as in water contaminated with feed or feces (56). Their
ability to multiply regardless of the different environmental conditions allows the bacteria to spread
out quickly, which leads into major infection among people.
One of the recent outbreaks that startled people across America was the finding of Salmonella in
tomatoes in restaurants. It is said that:
The tomato linked salmonella outbreak announced by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on
June 3 has claimed 228 victims in 23 states over 58 days (and counting). It has put 25 people in the
hospital and may have had a role in hastening the death of a cancer patient. And then there s the flurry
of panic as many of the tomatoes that American consumers take for granted every day suddenly
disappear from McDonald s hamburgers; from the salsa at Chipotle Mexican Grill; from Burger King,
Taco Bell and Sonic; and from the grocery shelves at Kroger, Wal Mart and Target (Suddath 1).
This outbreak caused many American citizens to panic about their daily meals; the fact that one of the
most common ingredients, tomato, can actually become detrimental to humans caused people in
America to be more aware of what they are consuming. They were also concerned about how to treat
the disease had they already been infected by it.
Another recent outbreak which aroused

Coco is the story of a young boy in Mexico named Miguel who enjoys music, but is apart of a family
that has banned all forms of music due to a family feud. During The Day of the Dead, he is whisked
away to the Land of the Dead where he is given a chance to learn about his family s past and their hate
for music.
I saw very little advertising or trailers for Coco compared to most major Disney films, so I was
expecting a neat little Disney movie that didn t quite match up to the Disney classics. However, Coco
turned out to be a heartwarming movie about balancing your family and your dreams.
Disney s advocacy for cultural awareness is as prominent as ever and a lot of love and understanding
of the Mexican culture is put into this movie. The Land of the Dead could easily be depicted as a
morbid and inappropriate setting for a children s movie, but the it is actually shown to ... Show more

Many children s films are very black and white, evil and good, wrong and right, but Coco does a
wonderful job of exploring the gray areas and how you don t always have to take sides completely.
Visually, the movie is stunning and the animation is flawless. Even minor movements like falling or
walking will affect objects around the characters in fascinating ways. Seeing Miguel walk across a
lead ridden rooftop and having each step disrupt the leaves around him is truly a joy from a technical
standpoint. The skeletons in the Land of the Dead interact with the world in unique and fun ways that
further immerse viewers.
The most impressive part of the movie to me was how interconnected and well thought out the story
was. Disney songs are always fun and do an excellent job of explaining a situation or character, but
Coco uses its main song as a vital plot point that connects the story as a whole. The characters have a
set goal and everything they do always relates back to that main

Analysis Of Chasing Heroine
Should this disease have gotten this far in society? The more you engage in any type of emotion or

Heroine that was filmed on PBS Frontline, was extremely shocking to watch. This film was filmed in
2016. It followed current and former addicts, their love ones, and advocates. This documentary
actually told the truth of certain things in regard to heroine. The light was shed on how the heroine
was brought into history, social problems, and shame, and the system. In the documentary, heroine is
nothing new, but a disease that has been brewing for a little over 30 years. Before heroine became
known for a high, it was a drug called OxyContin, that was given to everyone to take away their
problems. These pain problems consist of cancer patients and severe chronic pain. However, Purdue
Pharma seen an opportunity to provide a new prescription called Oxy to an old drug name, but gave it
an extra release long acting of pain relief. Then started advertising it on commercials for the public to
view every day. Less than 1% of patient become addicted. In 2001, Pharma sold over 1 billion dollars
with OxyContin over a year. Heroine started to go epic after OxyContin was tapered back from the
pharmacy. Heroine was also majority of the middle class to the wealthy white men and woman
population that lived in the suburban area. The pharmacy knew what they were doing, and had to pay
about 600 million in fines for their neglect to the people. This epidemic was taken to the White House,
but President Obama did not take it serious. Obama could care less about this epidemic, that he waited
1 year later to act. However, at this time the healthcare professionals could provide a bottle to every
adult in the nation. Heroine was just not hitting the adult population, but young adults tried it too. One
particular participant in the film was named Christina. She started heroine at a young age, and now
been using for years. She was high while filming the documentary. There was a phrase that stuck out
to me that she correlates with, this drug, it has a brain, and it shares mine. I can understand that this is

A Summary of William Shakespeare s Henry IV Part 1
Henry IV, Part 1 William Shakespeare is considered the most important playwright of the European
Renaissance, if not the most important of all time. Each character in his collected works is uniquely
defined and highly memorable. In Henry IV, Part I, Shakespeare writes about the struggle for the
control of England during the time of the title king. Everything is in turmoil following his ascension to
the throne and his legacy is in question because of the perceived personality of his successor to the
crown. Not only does he endeavor to maintain his control of the throne, but also vying are his son Hal
who wants to takeover after his father and the rival Hotspur who wants it for himself but also is
representative of an entire faction of people who want to rebel against Henry IV and do not feel loyal
to him. Each of these men believes himself to be rightfully entitled to become the king and this is a
major theme that play out throughout the play, namely what it means to be worthy of the title King of
England; being king is far more than a matter of luxury and power, it is a burden that only worthy men
should be allowed to undertake. For the current ruler of England, King Henry IV, he believes himself
entitled because of what he was willing to do in order to obtain the throne. The former king, Richard
II, was murdered and his chosen heir passed over by the zealous Henry. This perception of him as a
usurper of the throne spreads out to those who had once supported him. Hotspur

Research Proposal on Database Usability Issues
There are different types of database usability issues; you could talk about the problems that occur
when a user views a database system .i.e. the user will see different from what the database contains.
But with the advance in design of highly interactive computer systems continues at an ever increasing
pace, with new developments in hardware and software being announced more frequently than ever
before. (Lawson, J. Yull, S. Anderson, H. Knott, G. Waites, N. 2005, pg 258)
So with the increasing interactive computer systems, within this research proposal I am going to talk
about the problems that a user may come across in the form of virtual reality VR, graphical user

I feel as if people recognise images before text. For example if we look at YouTube, people
automatically recognise videos before even reading its title or description. On a website your eye is
drawn to an image. So by having a program that incorporates high quality images, and maybe even
videos, you will be catching the audience s attention.
HCI or Human Computer Interaction is a process that evaluates the interaction between the user and a
program. For example does the user take advantage of features a program may have, do they use
headphones when using a program. Everything that is used to create a VR (virtual reality) or create
GUI (graphical user interface) is put into play at HCI.
According to (Dix, A. Finlay, J. Abowd, G. Beale, R. 2004) Human computer interaction is the study
of how people interact with computers and to what extent computers are or are not developed for
successful interaction with human beings.
So HCI takes into account both sides of the computers users. It looks at things like the computer
graphics, operating system, and programming language and on the human side according to (Cairns, P.
Cox, A. 2008) communication theory, graphic and industrial design disciplines, linguistics, social
science, cognitive psychology, and human performance are relevant.
So for a program to incorporate good HCI, it could contain features such as movable interfaces with
pull down menus, dialog books, check boxes, scroll bars etc. By

Marxism And Communism
In the western world, people view communism as a conquered historical ideology, but communism
continues to influence the world today. China, the fourth largest country on the earth, displays the
label of communism today. Communism is a classless ideology in which all property is owned by a
large community and each person receives according to their needs and abilities. Communism is a set
of ideas including several different variations and schemes on the philosophy. However, the most
accepted and relevant initial theory was first created by Karl Marx (5th May 1818 to 14th March
1883), who is also known as the father of communism. The main theory of communism, created by
Karl Marx, is the theory that was and is utilized by many countries. ... Show more content on

This is due to the fact that communists believe that there should be no division in social class and
hierarchy. A negative impact of communism on a country s society is that it does not recognise
individual talent. During the mid nineteenth century after communism has took over china, many
individuals were arguing that their field of their talent (such as art, music, agricultural skills etc.) was
not being seen and recognised by anyone in society. This is believed to be a trigger for the 1959
Tibetan uprising protests (which occurred just ten years after china was under communist rule) in
China against a communist party rule. Therefore, communism has had a major impact on a country s
society as a whole.
Another way Communism has impacted the society is by altering culture. An example is the Soviet
Union at the beginning of the cold war. During the cold war, Joseph Stalin (18th December 1878 to
5th March 1953) attempt to enforce communist culture within the society was by altering people s
perspective of beliefs. Joseph Stalin and other communist leaders believed that the decisive factor in
the world to win a war was power, and that power was ultimately the power to dominate and coerce by
superior pressure rather than the power to persuade or to engage cooperatively. They defined
international society by its distribution of power, and they saw the opportunity for the Soviet Union as
more to contend for domination than to

Public Shame In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter
Public shaming is not new. Shaming a person is a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by
the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior. Public shame ruins a person s life over what they did
wrong by being called names, being fired from a job, receiving death threats, and being known for
what they did for the rest of their life. Public shame never goes away and is still used today to mock
people. Thus, public shame can ruin a person s life socially, mentally, and personally. In Source A,

Labour Movement Pros And Cons
The Labor Movement generated opposition from both the government and the public since they both
saw unions as violent and lawless. The government used force to control the unions showing their
disgust for the views and actions of these organizations. Well, organized and growing businesses took
the advantage in the struggle with labor, so the workers started labor unions. It is easily argued both
ways whether or not unions formed were beneficial to workers. With great evidence though, it is
proven that although beneficial in many ways, for the most part unions were very negative towards the
progress of our country.

The Homestead strike in 1892 was the first major strike to take place after the downfall of the Knights.
It started at Carnegie s steel plant in Homestead, PA. when workers refused to accept new wage cuts.
Henry Clay Frick shut down the plant and surrounded it with guards to protect the property. The

Some members of Congress were sympathetic to Homestead strikers. The public in general felt little
sympathy for the strikers because they felt that the working person should remain free to sell services

Riverdale Character Analysis
Riverdale is an American television program that is based primarily on the Archie comics which were
first released in the 1940 s. The comics focus largely on a love triangle between the three main
characters, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Archie Andrews. Unlike the television show, Betty and
Veronica see one another as frenemies and are constantly at odds over Archie, who is never at fault for
any of the mishaps that happen. The Archie comics were never big advocates of feminism and instead
focused primarily on Archie and the two female characters invented to fight over him, cementing the
idea that girls are only around to win boys affection. In contrast, Riverdale the television show focuses
on Betty and Veronica as friends instead of frenemies and builds upon the idea that girls are smart,
capable, and are stronger when they work together. The new television spin on the original comics
brings together the old characters and main plot points and puts an innovative feminist attitude
towards them to mesh them with the beliefs and issues of today s society. The characters in this show
are much more than the typical jock, nerd, good, bad stereotypes that are commonly depicted in
teenage dramas viewed on the television today. The women of Riverdale prove that for positive
change to take place, friendship must take precedent and sticking together as girls is the most
important aspect of driving forward social change. In the series premiere, the audience is first

(IPCC) 2013, in Southeast Asia, temperature has been increasing at a rate of 0.14 to 0.20 degree
Celsius per decade since the 1960s while rainfall from extreme rain days has increased by 10
millimeters per decade. Both of these increments are caused by climate change. In addition to increase
of temperature and extreme precipitations, climate change also increases landslides, exacerbates soil
erosion, causes flooding, and raises the sea level (Barnett et al. 2007). Previously, climate change was
believed to happen naturally. However, over the years, scientists have started to argue that
anthropogenic factors are the main contributor. Scientists have also been more confident and forthright
in informing the public that climate change is caused by human activities. The IPCC Fifth Assessment
Report mentions that human influence on the climate system is clear, and recent anthropogenic
emissions of greenhouse gases are the highest in history (2013). In addition, most of the observed
increase in global average temperatures since the mid 20th century is very likely due to the observed
increase in anthropogenic Green House Gas (GHG) concentrations (IPCC AR4 2007). In fact, there
are many other anthropogenic impacts that cause climate change. In this paper, I will discuss the
impacts of climate change on wetlands, forest fires and tropical cyclones in Southeast Asia, and the
adaptations

The Basics Of Surviving The Wilderness
The basics of surviving the wilderness We live in an age that has spoiled us rotten. Everything we
need has become a given and we are no longer out scavenging for our necessities. We have mastered
the art of consumerism. Our society is built and programmed to consume, stores have spread faster
then a contagious disease. Over time we have come to relinquish very important knowledge that has
been passed down since the beginning of time and that is surviving in the wild. There are three basic
things we all need to learn how to do in order to survive the wild and that is building shelter, filtering
water and finding food. Many people are comfortable with tossing this precious information to the
trash. They are very mistaken to believe its unnecessary information. There are many reasons to why
everyone should learn how to survive in the wild. You never know where life might take you and it is
always wise to be prepared. All though our society may seem stable today, there is still no guarantee
that it will always remain the same. This information may come in handy if you ever find yourself lost
or stranded. I believe that there is a lot to learn about surviving in the wild but knowing the basics can
really save lives. First things first what do you do if you find yourself alone in the middle of nowhere,
with only miles and miles of nature around you. Finding shelter is always top priority very important
to making sure you live another day. By finding shelter it helps

Staphylococcus Epidermidis Research Paper
Nowadays seen as an important opportunistic pathogen Staphylococcus epidermidis is one of thirty
three known species belonging to the genus Staphylococcus (5). It can be found within the mucous
membranes, as a part of the skin flora, and in animals. If S. epidermidis comes in contact with a
person who has a compromised immune system, it may cause infection merely to those inside of
hospital settings. It like to live on the surface, but once inside a host can cause serious problems. There
are many different strands of Staphylococcus, but this particular bacterium was first differentiated
from other forms of Staphylococcus in 1884 by Friedrich Julius Rosenbach (6). S. flexneri causes
dysentery that results in the destruction of the epithelial

Similarities And Differences Between The Zero And...
Kurt Vonnegut s novel Slaughterhouse 5 (1969) and Jess Walters novel The Zero (2006) share a series
of similarities not only in the formal aspects of the novel but also in their contents. Both authors create
a fictional narrative in order to present their experiences of two of the most traumatic events related to
the contemporary history of the United States: the participation of the United States in the Second
World War and the collapse of the Twin Towers on 9/11. Thus, both works can be seen as attempts to
re write reality after a traumatic experience.
First of all, both authors utilize autobiographical materials for their novels. In Slaughterhouse 5,
Vonnegut, like Billy Pilgrim, was an American soldier during World War II that was prisoned ... Show

In Slaughterhouse 5, as Rigney signals, Billy goes on to become a fairly successful businessman but
finally has a nervous breakdown that makes him become unstuck in time such that all past and future
moments in his life are always simultaneously present (Rigney 14). Nevertheless, it is important to
notice that the sense of fragmentation is more present in The Zero because from the very beginning,
the first sentence initiates the pattern of narrative interruption due to it is already fragmented: the first
five words do not become meaningful until five lines afterwards. If we apply this to a larger scale, the
same happens with a significant amount of scenes where the ending is not concluded but interrupted.
It is the case, for example, of the first sentence, whose ending is uncompleted: Mrs. Lubach opened
her mouth to answer but (Walter 7); and the next line starts another scene where Remy is at the
hospital waiting to be attended. Another example can be found some scenes afterwards, where the
sentence does not reveal what Remy found: Remy reaching for the falling glass and finding (Walter
22). For this reason, these breaks represent leaps in time or space that simulate the dissociative
episodes of the textbook PTSD with which Remy s psychiatrist diagnoses him after 9/11 (194) (Miller

Importance Of Heroes In Modern Society
The term hero is attained from the ancient Greeks. In the mind of the Greeks, a hero was a mortal who
had succeeded beyond the normal scope of human experience, in which received worship as if he or
she was a god. Examples of these heroes are Asclepius, the first doctor; Dionysus, the creator of Greek
fraternities; and Hercules, the infamous monster killer. While these people completed honorable
deeds, other people who had committed crimes were also known as heroes. These people include
Oedipus and Medea who also received worship after their deaths. These men and women have had
relevance in society for many generations, and continue to have relevance in today s society. To the
Greeks, heroes were always doing something extraordinary. It ... Show more content on

Although we know everything about ancient heroes, certain heroes past and present are certainly
cryptic. Those who looked up to George Washington or Thomas Jefferson as heroes would be
surprised to know that they once held slaves. Heroism in the ancient age was much different because
of the fact that you could be a hero if you did something that was thought to be impossible, although it
might be a criminal deed. In modern society, heroes are only looked at as someone who accomplished
something of great importance. We as a society look at Navy SEALs or Army Rangers as heroes,
while the definition was much more expansive in ancient society. While politicians might be looked at
as a hero to certain people, others most definitely do not view them as this because of the corrupt aura
that surrounds them. The cynicism in individuals today is much different, then when the ancient
civilizations were deciding who were heroes. Heroism has been an ever changing definition in the
world. The study of such heroes and heroism helps modern day society shape the world. Many people
might look up to Odysseus or Achilles as their hero, while a more modern man might look up to Jim
Brown or Jackie Robinson as a hero. If it were not for the ancient Greeks, the idea of a hero might not
exist in our society. Thankfully the idea does exist and these heroes help motivate us to strive for a
better life. Cynicism can often be used as an

There are several business organizations operating around the world, competition is at its peak,
products and services offered are so closely similar that identifying the difference between them is
difficult, but there is only one way differentiation is made in today s market, in the larger prospective,
and that differentiation is the difference in quality offered. Ali et al., (2010) points, out that the
properties of a service or product that the buyer or user purchases and the value given to it by them is
the quality of that product or service. Koch (2003) suggests that quality is a process of developing a
product or service, building relationship through assessment, anticipation and the fulfillment of the
stakeholders implied needs. It is here where the real market is, real competition, customers, profits,
market share and success lies. Organizations that deliver quality are always desired by their customers.

Cranby Children s Home Analysis
Separated from his mother at a young age, all Jimmy wants to do is to be reunited with his mother
again. Jimmy begins as a mischievous and cheeky young boy who steals food and desperately wants
to be chosen by a white family from Cranby Children s Home. Once his wish finally comes true,
Harrison s script implies that he is abused and beaten by the family and returns to the Home silent and
mentally scarred. As Jimmy grows to become a man, he hears that his mother is not dead and still
alive out there looking for him, only to be betrayed and discover she is dead. Losing all hope and
falling to an alcohol addiction, Jimmy finally loses his will to live as well, taking his own life and
saying aloud the writing on a letter from within a noose. This ... Show more content on

However, unlike Jimmy, Ruby is the first out of the five children in Stolen to be chosen by a white
family, where her life becomes a constant cycle of sexual and oppressive abuse, manipulated into
staying quiet with gifts. Throughout this, Ruby continually calls out for her mother, as she longs for
the family and love that she lost at a young age. Progressing through the story, Ruby becomes an
unpaid domestic, vulnerable to constant abuse and suffering, whether mental, physical or sexual, and
gradually loses hope and her mind, as she develops a dreadful mental illness that consumes her. At the
plays revolution, she does not recognise her own family and is noticeably broken, as everything she
once had was taken from her, including her sanity.
Ruby conveys that her personality is rather passive, as she is more fragile over the course of the play.
She does not often interact with the other children and stays quiet, due to her abuse and manipulation
keeping her from developing a true personality at such a young age. This periodically becomes a clear
result from these things, as she has forgotten what it feels like to be loved and cared for from when she
lost her mother.
Physicality:
Ruby s movement is frantic and twitchy, with impulsive turns and looks, always fearful and anxious.
When sitting or standing, she will curl up and hold herself or her doll as self protection mechanism.
She is introverted, reflecting how broken she is, even talking to herself instead of others once she has
lost everything.

The Impact Of Information Technology On Our Nation s...
Abstract
Information technology is becoming an increasingly important consideration in our Nation s security.
There is so much information can be easily accessible, yet terrifyingly detrimental to an individual s
identity or financial security if it lands in the wrong persons hands. Luckily, the National government
started to realize this early on and have since enacted several laws in order to help protect certain
groups. This paper will cover three of these laws, their scope and rationale as well as a case study.
This research is being done with the intent of establishing the importance of these laws by discussing
the potential consequences if these laws were not enacted. The paper will conclude with a generalized
discussion of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

implementation of laws and regulations that minimize the access of private information and protect
against security breaches.
HIPAA The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), was initially
established as a way to standardize the electronic dissemination of health information across the field
of health care. The Act was initially introduced as the Kennedy Kassebaum Bill and had two primary
objectives: Portability and Accountability. The portability portion was intended to ensure individuals
would be able to maintain insurance between jobs. This portion was implemented very successfully.
The second portion of the act is accountability, which was designed to ensure the security and
confidentiality of administrative information and financial data as it relates to patient health
information.
The Kennedy Kassebaum Bill was renamed the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of
1996 (HIPAA), andenacted in August of 1996. Part of the HIPAA legislation requires the DHHS to
broadcast regulations on specific areas of the Act, which were called Rules. The Act is better referred
to as the HIPAA Privacy Rule or Privacy Rule. ThePrivacy Rule forms national standards that protect

What Makes King Arthur An Intriguing Person
Everybody has their Great Qualities
In Analysis: What Made King Arthur an Intriguing Person
What are your qualities? Just like everyone King Arthur has his good and bad qualities. King Arthur s
good qualities is what makes him an intriguing person. King Arthur was a legendary ruler of Britain
whose life and deeds became the basis for a collection of tales known as the Arthurian legends. As the
leading figure in British mythology, King Arthur is a national hero and a symbol of Britain s heroic
heritage. But his appeal is not limited to Britain. The Arthurian story, with its elements of mystery,
magic, love, war, adventure, betrayal, chivalry, and fate, has touched the popular imagination and has
become part of the world s shared mythology. King Arthur was born somewhere in the misty region
where history and imagination meet (Gale Student Resources). The legend of King Arthur may have
been based on the life of one or more Celtic warriors who fought the Anglo Saxon invaders of
England in the late fifth and early sixth centuries. The Britons, the island s ... Show more content on

King Arthur never gave up hope on his kingdom, Guinevere, or his son. King Arthur fought to the
very end. After King Arthur got struck by lightning he never gave up hope that his knights would
fulfill the quest to find the Holy Grail (Karl). This selection begins after King Arthur has traveled to
France at the insistence of his nephew, Gawain, to besiege his former friend and knight, Lancelot, for
his involvement with Queen Guinevere. However, the king s attempts to punish Lancelot are
halfhearted, and he is soon forced to abandon them altogether when he learns that his illegitimate son,
Mordred, has seized control of England. Arthur leads his forces back to England, and Mordred attacks
then upon their landing. Gawain is killed in the fighting, but before he dies, he manages to send word
to Lancelot that Arthur is in need of his assistance (page

Examples Of Autoethnography
The second part of my autoethnography consists of two of the biggest events in my life that shaped me
into who I am today. I believe that the ages from 9 to 14 are also the times that I started to develop my
personality and started to have a sense of who I was, and in the ages from 15 to 18 those personality
traits started to settle down. I learned about Pokémon, which is one of the most influential things in
my life, when I was around 9 years old. I learned about Pokémon firstly from its anime on TV. For
some reason, watching it made me feel really happy. I remember some days when I woke up at 6am
just to watch Pokémon. My interest in the Pokémon franchise grew stronger with their video games.
My mom knew how much I loved Pokémon, so she entered a raffle made by a soda company in
Turkey, which rewarded 50 people a Nintendo Game Boy system and a game of Pokémon Red to play
with that system. Thanks to her luck, she managed to be one of the winners of that raffle. After she got

My grandmother, who is the mother of my mom, passed away due to heart failure at the age of 87.
Since I was 6 or 7 she had been living in our house. The reason for that was, my grandfather, that I
was named after passed away a year before I was born, so she was alone, and she was starting to get
old. Since she lived with us for so many years, she had been a very important figure in my life. I can
honestly say that she was like a 3rd parent for me, and losing her, made me fell horrible and helpless. I
witnessed how real death is because of her passing. Combined with puberty, my grief caused me to
become depressed for a long time. As I m looking back it sounds really extreme, but there were some
days that I did not even leave the bed thinking that there was no point to our existence. Thanks to
some psychological counselling however, I was able to overcome that mental

  • 2. The Number Three In Dante s Inferno Symbolism can be utilized in diverse manners but remains a prominent aspect of life within most religions throughout the world. Out of ample differential symbolic numbers, Dante showcases the number three throughout the allegorical tale of his journey through hell. Dante bases Inferno upon the Christian idea of hell by using the religiously symbolic number three within his choice of poetic structure, the monsters displayed, and the associations of the number three in the Bible. Dante s poetic masterpiece The Divine Comedy is composed of three individual cántica: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. The three works include 33 cantos in each poem, with the exception of Inferno, totaling 100 cantos, which is the square of 10; 10 is the perfect number, for it is composed solely of the square of the Trinity plus 1, which represents the Unity of God. (McAllister xxii). The rhyme scheme of the 100 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Three beasts face against Dante within the beginning of the narrative poem: The Leopard, The Lion, and The She Wolf of Incontinence. Alongside to meeting the three animals, Dante also metaphorically encounters the three main kinds of sin committed within the Christian world: Incontinence, violence and fraud. Each sin corresponds according to a sin in the Bible and matches with each of the three beasts. Once Dante follows away from the three monsters and towards a pathway through hell, he encounters a ravenous three headed dog of Hell who characterizes as monstrous Cerebus, the ravening beast (Alighieri 44 45). Dante s usage of the number three within his choice of monsters furthermore portrays the reoccurring usage of the number in Inferno. In addition, Dante encounters Satan whom has three faces, each of different color. Each monster encountered by Dante within the narrative poem Inferno symbolically displays the number three which moreover connects the number to the Christian idea of ... • 3. The Consequences Of Reverting The Antioxidance Of GTE Reverting the antioxidants enzymes to their normal values after administration of GTE. The underlying mechanisms attributed to the hepatoprotective influence of GTE against NP could be contributed to the following: GTE have been shown to neutralize and scavenges reactive oxygen species, thereby reducing the damage to lipid membranes, proteins and nucleic acids in cell free systems (Khan et al., 2014). Also, It has also been suggested that catechins similar to vitamin C convert vitamin E radical (α tocopheroxyl radical) to its active form (α tocopherol) (Mukai et al.. 2005; Zhou et al., 2005). Furthermore, GTE reduces the concentration of lipid peroxidation in the liver and serum (Skrzydlewska et al., 2002; Crespy and Williamson 2004). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When GTE was administered, it significantly reduced the level of DNA fragmentation and the number of apoptotic cells of African catfish due to its antioxidant ability that could reduce the toxic effect of NP(Ibrahim et al., 2015). Also, Pan et al.2007 reported that EGCG could induce the activation of intracellular signaling cascades such as the mitogen activated kinase pathway and phosphoinositol 3 kinase pathway which had potent roles in anti apoptotic signaling. In the same line, EGCG and its methylated metabolite protect against necrosis and apoptosis by suppressing caspase 3 expression, reducing the expression of proapoptotic genes and inducing the antiapoptotic genes expression (Kagaya et al., 2003; Al Refai et al., 2014, Ogaly et al., 2015). Moreover, GTE contains also minerals that function as co factors for antioxidant enzymes. Zinc traces present in GTE considered as a selective inhibitor of apoptosis (Marachan et al., 2012). The current work demonstrated normal histological picture in both the control and green tea groups. The NP treated C. gariepinus revealed many histological changes at light microscopic level including congested central veins, infiltration of mononuclear inflammatory cells, necrosis and vacuolation. Similar results were recorded by (Weber et al., 2003; Uguz et al., 2003, ). Congested central veins ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Supply Chain Management at Airbus Supply Chain Management At Airbus Implementing RFID Technology INTRODUCTION Airbus was the world s leading aircraft manufacturer in 2009 going by the number of aircraft delivered during the year. The company had been using RFID in its operations since 1997 but on a lower scale and targeted at improving its internal processes. In mid 2000s, Airbus started using RFID technology more widely, starting with its spare parts supply chain. After sucessful pilot tests, Airbus came out with the ambitious plan of adopting a holistic approach by implementing RFID at its suppliers facilities, in its own operations, and at its customers operations in 2008. The plan was to achieve higher efficiencies in its operations and also to reduce costs. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. The Battle On Pork Chop Hill In many war stories officers are depicted as the, heroes of the battle based off of what was credited in history. Some supported the war efforts exhausted in order to contain communism and others felt like we were fighting an unjust war. The views of the Battle on Pork Chop Hill are no different. US forces originally occupied a location originally known as Hill 355 in October of 1951. The tactics used to capture and fight for this location were brutal, and exhausting for both sides. Various Infantry and Artillery units fought to capture and defend this hill. Using Artillery during this war was key for U.S. forces to capture and control Pork Chop Hill. Even though some would say it was a long drawn out war, it shows the importance of artillery during battle because it provides soldiers basic leadership skills, strengthens future generations of soldiers, and their basic military heritage and tactics. The Battle on Pork Chop Hill is a significant event in the war because it lasted longer than any other single battle during the Korean War. The Field Artillery was important to these battles and so were the effects it had on these events. Many lives were lost as a result of fighting for this hill including Soldiers from the NATO coalition forces, United States, North Korea, and China. Both sides had constructed such great defensive tactics that if they tried to advance, it would result in loss of more men. Like many wars, this battle focuses on political views. When ... Reporters speculate that their political beliefs were shaped by an anti Communist upbringing during the McCarthy Era. Their father worked abroad with Soviet engineers in the 1930s, some of whom were later brutally purged by Stalin. As a result of the violence, the elder Koch returned to America staunchly anti communist, which undoubtedly contributed to his sons suspicions of big government. • 8. State Fidelity In The Odyssey Odysseus, the main character of The Odyssey, is a man of great courage who is married to Penelope, Queen of Ithaca. Even though it is clear that Odysseus is married to Penelope, he is involved in intimate relations with a few goddesses on his journey home to Ithaca from the Trojan War. For example, regardless of Odysseus longing to return home, he is tempted first by Calypso, spending eight years imprisoned on her island, and ultimately remaining true to Penelope in his heart. Also, he spends a year with Circe, a seductress, in order to liberate his men from living as swine. Furthermore, Odysseus faithfulness to Penelope is almost compromised when he and his men pass the Sirens women who entice men to their death utilizing their beautiful voices. Additionally, Greek and Christian marriage standards are distinctly different. Christians believe that marriage is a sacrament, or union between one man and one woman that is blessed by the church, while pagans hold to a belief of self uniting marriage known as handfasting a historical term for a betrothal or wedding that is sometimes acknowledged as a temporary engagement. • 9. Clarke s Cosmological Argument On The Existence Of God Clarke s Cosmological argument has been around for multiple centuries the purpose of this argument being to try to prove the existence of God. Although this argument sounds valid meaning that IF premises 1 and 2 are true, then the conclusion must be true while many people have accepted this argument, it has also caused a lot of questioning and skepticism, mainly because of what the Cosmological Argument uses to support its argument the Principle of Sufficient reason. Before determining whether the PSR effectively supports Clarke s Cosmological argument, one must know the Cosmological Argument s premises and what they mean. Premise 1 of Clarke s Cosmological Argument asserts that every being is either dependent or independent meaning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, if you see a dog at a veterinary, you know that the dog exists due to its parents (component 1 of the Principle of Sufficient Reason). You also know that there is an explanation for the dog being at the veterinary: the dog might be sick or is going to go through a medical procedure (component 2 of the Principle of Sufficient Reason). Although the Principle of Sufficient Reason seems to be straight forward it is heavily questioned and fails to effectively support Clarke s Cosmological arguments for many reasons, one of them being its failure to think about or recognize Brute Facts. Brute Facts are things that can t be explained; in this case, the inability to explain the existence of a being. An example of a Brute Fact is God, since his existence can t be explained but his existence is considered to be true by many people. Although it has not been explicitly confirmed that Brute Facts actually exist, the Principle of Sufficient Reason and its premises fails to acknowledge the possibility of Brute facts existing, therefore making the PSR to be less certain and accepted since it requires that everything has to have an explanation. This failure to acknowledge Brute Facts by the PSR also makes it a weak argument, therefore also making it not effectively support Clarke s Cosmological Argument. In addition to ... Statistics published become quickly out dated and it is interesting to observe both the international and national trends of Internet usage generally over the years, as well as those specific to the use of Social Networking Sites. Access to technology has become an integral part of education, socialisation and industry related requirements, and accordingly Internet usage is evolving and growing rapidly. A survey conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statics in 2003 found that in the 12 months prior to April 2003, 95% of Australian children, aged between five and fourteen years had used a computer. • 11. The Importance Of Pressure On High School Sports Pressure and High School Sports seem to go hand in hand these days. Whether we like pressure or not, it is difficult to avoid. We experience pressure because of standards that others expect us to accomplish. While some people may do well under pressure, many of us do bad under pressure. The Kimberly Girls Volleyball team will experience a lot of pressure as they head into the State tournament this weekend. Expectations are very high for them because they have had a lot of success so far this season. I talked to a girl who is currently on the varsity volleyball team that is going to state. Payton is not a starter and doesn t get to see the court often but she is just as important as anyone else on the team. She discussed with me some of the expectations that coaches and fans have for them. Every game our coach always tells us not to be satisfied, and that s kinda our team moto. I definitely think that s the expectation from our coaches is to not be satisfied with a win or how we played just to always make it better. I believe the expectation from the fans is just to stay positive and work as hard as we can. With expectations high from the coaches and fans, this can add a lot of pressure and stress onto the girls. As Payton said, I definitely think that s the expectation from our coaches it to not be satisfied with a win or how we played just to always make it better, we can see how they are pressured to win again because they can t be satisfied with winning one game. They have expectations to make it far in their season because they are not satisfied after one game, they want to win more and be number one. I also talked to a fan, Quinn Johnson, and asked what he thought the pressures were on the girls this year. He replied with: I think this season the pressures are there own standards. Last years team was not as good so other teams and fans did not expect so much out of them. But after we won the FVA this year and got the #1 seed for the playoffs more pressure was added to the team coming into playoffs. This helps to see from a fan perspective what they believe the pressures are and what they expect the girls to accomplish this season. As you can probably see, with the girls success this year they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The System Of Criminal Trial Essay 4.6(2) Adversary system The system of criminal trial as mentioned or directed by the Code is the adversary system based on the accusatorial method . In this system the prosecutor representing the State (or the people) accuses the defendant (the accused person) of the commission of some crime; and the law requires him to prove his case beyond reasonable doubt. The law also provides fair opportunity to the accused person to defend himself. The judge, more or less, is to work as an umpire between the two contestants. Challenge constitutes the essence of adversary trial and truth is supposed to emerge from the controverted facts through effective and constant challenges . Experience has shown that adversary is by and large dependable for the reconciliation of public and private interest i.e. public interest in punishing the criminals and private interest in preventing wrongful convictions. 4.6(3) Section 304 of Code of Criminal Procedure: Legal aid to accused at State expense in certain cases: Most of the accused persons are poor and uneducated. They cannot afford to engage lawyers for their defence, nor do they have any legal knowledge and professional skill to safeguard their interests themselves. Therefore, though the adversary system predicts equal legal rights and opportunities to the parties to present their respective cases before the court, such legal rights and opportunities would in practice operate unevenly and harshly, affecting undesirably the poor accused ... The use of different and similar feet patterns lets readers connect sections of the poem to create a better understanding of the meaning. The trimeter poem does not have a specific foot throughout the entirety of the poem, but the poem uses dactyls and trochees in various patterns. These lines, which describe the motion and sound of the storm, are thematically creating conflict between the author and nature. In the follow phrases, Leaves...hissed/ Blindly struck at my knee.../...sinister in the tone , gives a negative tone to the metaphorical storm within the poem. Their rhythmic pattern aligns with that of the last lines of the poem starting with Word , which are describing his loneliness. Word I was in the house alone//Word I was in my life alone, /Word I had no one left buy God , continue this pattern of very metrical lines of three (13, 15 16. Theses two sections of lines are not only metrically similar, but thematically. They are no longer questioning the trials of his loss of love, as he is no longer questioning. The two sections are described through sound, which is a motif throughout the poem. The storm s description with sound connects with the other passage of same foot pattern as the narrator believes that someone has spread word of his loneliness, could this be the nature? These sections are also following the same end rhyme scheme hissed/...missed/...tone and alone/...alone/...God (9 11, 13,15 16). The meanings may reflect each other in these passages, the sense of nature being the one acknowledging the narrator s loneliness with the storm. • 15. The New Orleans Levee System On August 29th of 2005, a category 3 hurricane, dubbed Hurricane Katrina, hit the Gulf Coast of the United States. It brought winds of 100 to 140 miles per hour, and stretched more than 400 miles across. New Orleans had its first mandatory evacuation ordered the day before, while listing the Superdome as a shelter for those who couldn t leave town. More than 70 percent evacuated, while the rest stayed at their homes, or took to shelters, to wait out the storm. The aftermath of Katrina was felt in Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi, but New Orleans was affected the most by far. In the end, more than 2000 were either seriously injured or killed, while those who survived were very short on food, water, first aid, and had very few areas for shelter. A large reason the storm was so devastating was the fact that the storm was able to cover almost 80 percent of the entire city under a large amount of water. Not only does he endeavor to maintain his control of the throne, but also vying are his son Hal who wants to takeover after his father and the rival Hotspur who wants it for himself but also is representative of an entire faction of people who want to rebel against Henry IV and do not feel loyal to him. Each of these men believes himself to be rightfully entitled to become the king and this is a major theme that play out throughout the play, namely what it means to be worthy of the title King of England; being king is far more than a matter of luxury and power, it is a burden that only worthy men should be allowed to undertake. For the current ruler of England, King Henry IV, he believes himself entitled because of what he was willing to do in order to obtain the throne. China, the fourth largest country on the earth, displays the label of communism today. Communism is a classless ideology in which all property is owned by a large community and each person receives according to their needs and abilities. Communism is a set of ideas including several different variations and schemes on the philosophy. However, the most accepted and relevant initial theory was first created by Karl Marx (5th May 1818 to 14th March 1883), who is also known as the father of communism. This is due to the fact that communists believe that there should be no division in social class and hierarchy. A negative impact of communism on a country s society is that it does not recognise individual talent. During the mid nineteenth century after communism has took over china, many individuals were arguing that their field of their talent (such as art, music, agricultural skills etc.) was not being seen and recognised by anyone in society. This is believed to be a trigger for the 1959 Tibetan uprising protests (which occurred just ten years after china was under communist rule) in China against a communist party rule. Therefore, communism has had a major impact on a country s society as a whole. Another way Communism has impacted the society is by altering culture. An example is the Soviet Union at the beginning of the cold war. During the cold war, Joseph Stalin (18th December 1878 to 5th March 1953) attempt to enforce communist culture within the society was by altering people s perspective of beliefs. Joseph Stalin and other communist leaders believed that the decisive factor in the world to win a war was power, and that power was ultimately the power to dominate and coerce by superior pressure rather than the power to persuade or to engage cooperatively. • 37. Labour Movement Pros And Cons The Labor Movement generated opposition from both the government and the public since they both saw unions as violent and lawless. The government used force to control the unions showing their disgust for the views and actions of these organizations. Well, organized and growing businesses took the advantage in the struggle with labor, so the workers started labor unions. It is easily argued both ways whether or not unions formed were beneficial to workers. With great evidence though, it is proven that although beneficial in many ways, for the most part unions were very negative towards the progress of our country. 1. The very first labor union, The National Labor Union was started in 1866. This union lasted for six years and had 600,00 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then on May 4 labor disorders had broken out in Haymarket Square and the police were called. Suddenly a dynamite bomb was thrown that killed or injured several dozen people. The people wrongfully connected the Knights with the Anarchists, and the power of the Knights of Labor came to a dismal end. The infuriated workers soon ran the guards out when they realized that Frick had intentions of reopening the plant with strikebreakers. After a thirteen hour struggle Carnegies Company persuaded the governor of Pennsylvania to provide help, the state militia was summoned to restore peace. The company began to bring in strikebreaker to replace employees who had walked out. Many of the leaders of the strike were prosecuted for rioting and murder. The steel workers union was detroyed. Some members of Congress were sympathetic to Homestead strikers. The public in general felt little sympathy for the strikers because they felt that the working person should remain free to sell services as an individual and not through a union. I have seen UNFIT employees directly or indirectly cause stress, created misunderstandings between the employee and of his/family, and I have witnessed how they created tensions and conflicts and hence affected the efficiency of other employees within the organization. One of the aspects of the Scripps recruitment and interview process that stood out to me is the Behavior Based Interview. By using this process Scripps gets to go into further details than the standard interview does. By going this route, Scripps is engaging in a culture fit. • 39. Riverdale Character Analysis Riverdale is an American television program that is based primarily on the Archie comics which were first released in the 1940 s. The comics focus largely on a love triangle between the three main characters, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Archie Andrews. Unlike the television show, Betty and Veronica see one another as frenemies and are constantly at odds over Archie, who is never at fault for any of the mishaps that happen. The Archie comics were never big advocates of feminism and instead focused primarily on Archie and the two female characters invented to fight over him, cementing the idea that girls are only around to win boys affection. In contrast, Riverdale the television show focuses on Betty and Veronica as friends instead of frenemies and builds upon the idea that girls are smart, capable, and are stronger when they work together. The new television spin on the original comics brings together the old characters and main plot points and puts an innovative feminist attitude towards them to mesh them with the beliefs and issues of today s society. The characters in this show are much more than the typical jock, nerd, good, bad stereotypes that are commonly depicted in teenage dramas viewed on the television today. The women of Riverdale prove that for positive change to take place, friendship must take precedent and sticking together as girls is the most important aspect of driving forward social change. • 40. Climate Change Is Caused By Human Activities According to the new Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2013, in Southeast Asia, temperature has been increasing at a rate of 0.14 to 0.20 degree Celsius per decade since the 1960s while rainfall from extreme rain days has increased by 10 millimeters per decade. Both of these increments are caused by climate change. In addition to increase of temperature and extreme precipitations, climate change also increases landslides, exacerbates soil erosion, causes flooding, and raises the sea level (Barnett et al. 2007). Previously, climate change was believed to happen naturally. However, over the years, scientists have started to argue that anthropogenic factors are the main contributor. Scientists have also been more confident and forthright in informing the public that climate change is caused by human activities. The IPCC Fifth Assessment Report mentions that human influence on the climate system is clear, and recent anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases are the highest in history (2013). In addition, most of the observed increase in global average temperatures since the mid 20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic Green House Gas (GHG) concentrations (IPCC AR4 2007). In fact, there are many other anthropogenic impacts that cause climate change. In this paper, I will discuss the impacts of climate change on wetlands, forest fires and tropical cyclones in Southeast Asia, and the adaptations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kurt Vonnegut s novel Slaughterhouse 5 (1969) and Jess Walters novel The Zero (2006) share a series of similarities not only in the formal aspects of the novel but also in their contents. Both authors create a fictional narrative in order to present their experiences of two of the most traumatic events related to the contemporary history of the United States: the participation of the United States in the Second World War and the collapse of the Twin Towers on 9/11. Thus, both works can be seen as attempts to re write reality after a traumatic experience. First of all, both authors utilize autobiographical materials for their novels. In Slaughterhouse 5, as Rigney signals, Billy goes on to become a fairly successful businessman but finally has a nervous breakdown that makes him become unstuck in time such that all past and future moments in his life are always simultaneously present (Rigney 14). Nevertheless, it is important to notice that the sense of fragmentation is more present in The Zero because from the very beginning, the first sentence initiates the pattern of narrative interruption due to it is already fragmented: the first five words do not become meaningful until five lines afterwards. If we apply this to a larger scale, the same happens with a significant amount of scenes where the ending is not concluded but interrupted. It is the case, for example, of the first sentence, whose ending is uncompleted: Mrs. Lubach opened her mouth to answer but (Walter 7); and the next line starts another scene where Remy is at the hospital waiting to be attended. Another example can be found some scenes afterwards, where the sentence does not reveal what Remy found: Remy reaching for the falling glass and finding (Walter 22). For this reason, these breaks represent leaps in time or space that simulate the dissociative episodes of the textbook PTSD with which Remy s psychiatrist diagnoses him after 9/11 (194) (Miller ... In the mind of the Greeks, a hero was a mortal who had succeeded beyond the normal scope of human experience, in which received worship as if he or she was a god. Examples of these heroes are Asclepius, the first doctor; Dionysus, the creator of Greek fraternities; and Hercules, the infamous monster killer. While these people completed honorable deeds, other people who had committed crimes were also known as heroes. These people include Oedipus and Medea who also received worship after their deaths. These men and women have had relevance in society for many generations, and continue to have relevance in today s society. To the Greeks, heroes were always doing something extraordinary. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although we know everything about ancient heroes, certain heroes past and present are certainly cryptic. Those who looked up to George Washington or Thomas Jefferson as heroes would be surprised to know that they once held slaves. Heroism in the ancient age was much different because of the fact that you could be a hero if you did something that was thought to be impossible, although it might be a criminal deed. In modern society, heroes are only looked at as someone who accomplished something of great importance. We as a society look at Navy SEALs or Army Rangers as heroes, while the definition was much more expansive in ancient society. While politicians might be looked at as a hero to certain people, others most definitely do not view them as this because of the corrupt aura that surrounds them. The cynicism in individuals today is much different, then when the ancient civilizations were deciding who were heroes. Heroism has been an ever changing definition in the world. The study of such heroes and heroism helps modern day society shape the world. Many people might look up to Odysseus or Achilles as their hero, while a more modern man might look up to Jim Brown or Jackie Robinson as a hero. If it were not for the ancient Greeks, the idea of a hero might not exist in our society. Thankfully the idea does exist and these heroes help motivate us to strive for a better life. This periodically becomes a clear result from these things, as she has forgotten what it feels like to be loved and cared for from when she lost her mother.
