Questionnaire results
In summary the questionnaire shows my target audience is
people aged 16-34 year olds and are mostly male, which is
conventional for the genre as most of the band artists are
male, and very rarely female.
Also the likes of the target audience are roughly the same, for example
two thirds of the people like cartoons and comics which is good as the
bands for example on the front cover of one of the magazine were
wearing cartoon/comic book style clothing, and the others liked music,
which is what the stuff we are analysing and working on now is about.
The dislikes were Socialising and reality shows which is good as the
stuff that the songs are about isn’t really about enjoying life or
particularly socialising, and if it is it sometimes says that it’s bad.
And one of the people doesn’t really like reality shows which is
good as the songs aren’t as fake as what reality shows are, even
though there meant to be realistic.
The hobbies of my target audience are playing games, reading and
basketball. Which is good as in one of the Fall out Boy videos they
are playing basketball, and lost but still it had a meaning. And some
of the songs are about how lives not like a video game and you can’t
go back and try again. He also likes photography. Reading kind of
relates to the target audience as the image that is made for the artists is very important for
the genre and all genres together.
The image that my target audience sees when they saw the front for
the magazine was the dark colours and clothes that they were
shown with and wearing. They also said how the image relates to
the genre, for example the dark clothes and the gold font. One of
them said it’s also of a well-known popular band, which will draw in
more readers, as well as the people that already read the magazine.
My target audience’s views on the font was that the gold font is bold
and goes with the colours in the background (black). Both of the others
also said about the bold font and how it stands out against the
background.
The target audience said that they would like to see what albums will
be released or the tour dates. They also said they’d like to see
interesting articles and ones about celebrities/ the bands they like.
All of the people that
took my
questionnaire all said
that they expected to
see dark colours, e.g.
blacks and greys.
Whereas in my
opinion it should be
like dark-ish colours
like blues and silvers.
