2. Conventions of genre:
Colour – For the metal genre the conventions for the genre is
that usually the colours would be dark and not really have many
variances in the colour scheme. So this magazine advert
with these conventions with the most visible part on the screen is
the name of the band. The rest of the colours on the advert are
dark as well with there being low key lighting and you can only
really see the top half of all the artists.
Font – The font of the band is like a blood splatter and for the
others and the band name they are all serif fonts, except the
of the tour at the top and the names of their twitter and website.
Layout – The layout of the advert is conventional also with the
artists being positioned so they are all in the frame and their all
wearing jumpsuits with some wearing clown masks and others
wearing spiky ones. But all of them threatening, being
conventional as the metal genres music tends to me quite
with some of its content.
Conventions of form:
For the conventions of form the magazine advert, compared to
other adverts, follows mostly all the same conventions. For
example with it having an email address at the bottom as well as
their twitter and Facebook handles.
The artists are also in the ad which is good since the tour is about
them, this being conventional for form. Also the names of the
other artists at the tour being shown and the name of the tour.
