3. • I used PowerPoint quite regularly to produce some of my tasks. This
allowed me to add text and images to share the information that I needed.
This software was very effective because it helped me to plan and I was
already familiar with this software so I found it easy to use.
• I then used slideshare to enable me to embed my powerpoints and other word
documents onto my blog. This was a new skill I learnt because I have never
produced a blog before now. It took me a while to get used to blogger.com because
at first, I kept putting the html code into the compose button and not writing ‘div’
and ‘/div’ to embed powerpoints properly. It was very effective because it gave me
the correct link and allowed me to publish effectively.
• I also used my mobile phone to record audios for example, what genre
people preferred. I also used the camera to record my focus groups.
However, some of my focus group did not want to be on camera so this
was an issue that I had to face, and at some points, I had to just use
audio. This was an effective software because it allowed me to show
that I can use different types of software and I am familiar with my
phone so it was easy to use.

5. Firstly, I used a professional camera to take the photos for my final
magazine. This was a skill that I had learnt because I am not familiar
with these cameras. For example, I didn’t know how to get to the
menu to view the photos that I had taken. It was effective because I
produced clear, relevant images with the right mise-en-scene.
I used Photoshop to construct my front cover and contents page.
This was a skill that I had learnt because I am not familiar with
Photoshop. For example, at first, I couldn’t figure out why the
software was not allowing me to add text. It was effective because it
helped me to produce the magazine that I was hoping to produce
because it had the relevant tools.
I then used indesign to construct my double page spread. This was a
skill that I had learnt because I have never used indesign before. I had
an issue at first because when I placed the images, they appeared
blurry and I used the drop down menu to improve the quality of the
image. It was effective because I used to produce the DPS that I was
hoping to produce as it is clear that it is a DPS of a magazine.
