The student's technology skills improved over time. Initially, the student had no experience taking photos with an SLR camera or using Photoshop, but learned how to edit photos to create effects like drop shadows. The student also gained experience with layout programs like Quark, learning how to link pages and scale images. Prior to the course, the student was unfamiliar with blogger and programs like Prezi and Scrapblog, but learned to use them to create and upload media. Through lessons, the student eventually gained proficiency with video editing in Premier to produce a final evaluation at a professional standard.

2. My skills with technology improved as time went on and I was now
able to use a variety of programmes to make my final product a
successful and professional looking piece of work. When
completing my preliminary task i had no idea how to use an SLR
camera and how to create an effective picture for my front cover,
taking angles and facial expression into account. When I took the
picture and i was happy with it I then uploaded it onto the
computer and tweaked it using Photoshop, as time went on i got
familiar with the tools on photoshop and I was able to use them
effectively to produce my product. For example I learnt how to
create a drop shadow, and my knowledge of making shapes
increased. This benefited me when it came to me wanting to create
the newspaper effect were my main story headline looks like it had
been teared out of a newspaper or magazine.

3. Another programme I began to widen my knowledge about was
Quark, when making my preliminary task I kept to the basic tools
for my contents page, for example the text box. Now for my final
product I used the linking tool to link my double page spread article
and ensure that it was equal. I was also now able to scale my
picture to a box so I had no gaps in between my pictures and they
were of similar sizes.

4. Before I started this media coursework, I had no idea whatsoever
what Blogger was. I started to understand how to use it, and what
different media programmes I can use that upload to my blogger
page. Different media programmes I used were, Prezi, Slideshare,
Xtranormal and Scrapblog. My knowledge of all of these increased
and i was able to produce work within them and upload it onto
blogger, this was new to me as I had never visited any of these
websites before.

5. For my evaluation I created a video that my friend filmed for me
and I was speaking, I uploaded it onto premier. I had no idea how to
use Premier so i had to seek help from my peers and teachers. As
lessons went on my skills were broadened and finally my video was
produced to a professional standard.
