Evaluation Question

1. What have you learned from your
audience feedback?
Audience feedback is very important and crucial as it tells us if the audience liked or disliked our short
film. Also it identifies which parts need more improving or is lacking scenes. This is effective as this
type of interaction associated with use of audience response systems, to create interactivity between
the presenter and their audience. The benefits for such audience responses are:
- We have gathered audience feedback by using different strategies for we done a online survey and
filmed my classmates asking about our short film and tell me what went right and wrong.
- Another way I got my audience feedback is by putting my media product on Youtube, an internet
site where more than millions people view it every day. I have made a survey specifically on facebook
because that’s where majority of my target audience are. This way it will help me identify what needs
to be improved as they can comment.

2. WHILE IN THE PROCESS OF EDITING OUR SHORT FILM, WE HAVE
SHOWED TO OUR TARGET AUDIENCE VARIOUS OF TIMES TO MAKE
SURE THAT IT WAS APPEALING AND THEY HAVE UNDERSTOOD THE
PLOT. IN OUR FINAL EDIT OF OUR FILM WE HAVEN’T CHANGED
DRAMATICALLY HOWEVER WE DID DELETE FEW SCENES FROM OUR
MEDIA PRODUCT. THIS SHOWS HOW IMPORTANT AND CRUCIAL
AUDIENCE FEEDBACK IS IN ORDER FOR US TO GET THE PERFECT
SHORT FILM.
POSTING OUR MEDIA PRODUCT ONLINE IS BENEFICIAL AS MILLIONS
OF PEOPLE CAN VIEW IT. THIS WOULD HELP IDENTIFY WHAT AGE
GROUPS LIKES OUR GENRE AS OUR MAIN TARGET AUDIENCE ARE
21+. SO I HAVE MAINLY FILMED.

3. Pupils Responses to our film

4. “Maybe more intense scenes”
We were originally going to include few more
intense scenes for our short film, however when we
actually tried to include more dramatic scenes it
somehow didn’t fit in and the film would have been
more longer which it would lose its elements of
being short and powerful sending its message.
“Some good angle and editing, but the hair of the
protagonist could be an issue”
I disagree with this comment because our media
product is spread into days/months and black
females tend to change their hair every few week.
Culturally black women have the most options with
their hair. So the hair of the protagonist wouldn’t
be an issue as the its normal and it shows how
long the weeks have went on by.

5. “Was not expecting that ending!”
This is what we have been aiming for. We wanted to
create an enigma as the audience didn’t know what
has happened and this is effective as it creates
anticipation as the ended is judgemental free and
you can think of it how you want it to end.
“ The dialogue/sound was fuzzy at time so I couldn’t hear
clearly but overall it was good”
This was a crucial feedback as the sound is very important
factor into making our short film. We didn’t check our sound
beforehand of filming as we didn’t have time to do a rehearsal
and when we finished the shooting and went to edit the film
we have realised that the dialogue wasn’t clear and the sound
needed improvement. From this feedback we re-shoot the
film as we felt that it was an important factor to correct. After
we re-shot it, we have realised it was much better and felt that
it was no longer an issue. The voiceover match up better and
improved the quality of the sound.

6. From the chart that pupils that have answered my graph shows
how well we have portrayed our character and showed it through
the cinematography, facial expression and her clothing. Moreover
the setting was important as it established how she was feeling

7. This shows that we have successfully established the genre of
our film. This was done through planning the character
profile and sending out the genre that our target audience
prefer.

8. Overall View
 Overall im very pleased with the feedback as it helped us identify
what needed improvement and what went successful. The
improvement feedback we have received really helped us as it
pointed out the issues that needed to be fixed. The process of
receiving the feedback on my short film I’ve learned a lot about the
element needed to make a short film in the future.
 While in the process of editing our short film, we have showed to our
target audience various of times to make sure that it was appealing
and they have understood the plot. In our final edit of our film we
haven’t changed the scenes dramatically however we did delete few
unnecessary scenes and also fixed our sound for our media product.
This shows how important and crucial audience feedback is in order
for us to get the perfect short film.
