Introduction:
Audience feedback has guided and influenced me throughout the process of my
production, and given me ideas on how to produce my products to the best
possible quality. By having the feedback from my target audience it allows my
product to fulfil their expectations and needs.
How has my audience feedback applied to my products?
Due to the large scale of people I asked for feedback I was able to maintain a
variety of ideas , this insured that I would be appealing to everyone in my
audience rather than a small sector.
What did I use to gain audience feedback?
I used multiple social media sites, and internet websites such as Survey Monkey
to gather my feedback, I also held discussions and asked people face to face
some questions I had. I then presented it all in blogger.
I sent everyone in my
class a survey, it
contained general
questions around music
videos, this gave me
basic information and
ideas about what
audiences expect in
music videos. I then
presented my results in
pie charts.
I found that most of my
feedback suggested that the
most popular ages were within
10-18, this gave me the
inspiration to focus on a pop
theme. My theme creates a
thee of partying and
alcoholism, I feel that the
higher end of this age group
will be able to relate to the
music video due to being the
typical age for partying and
clubbing. If my target audience
were any younger then they
would not be able to
understand the meaning being
portrayed. A good selection of
camera angles would also
intrigue my audience, I knew
this due to the result of people
that claimed that it was
important within a music
video. For example in my music
video I used a variety of close
ups, long shots, mid shots and
extreme close ups because I
knew it would appeal to my
audience.
After showing my teacher and a few of my peers my first draft they gave me some critical
feedback. This feedback gave me some key issues that needed to be addressed, firstly
that my video lacked a variety of shots which they suggested would create a larger
emotional atmosphere. After thinking about this feedback I then filmed a different scene
where I had a close up of my actresses face whilst lip syncing and then using neon paints
to add to her face which showed sadness and distress.
Did I choose the correct target audience overall?
Analysing my feedback, overall I believe that I have chosen the correct target audience
for all three of my products, and by creating questionnaires and asking people to
thoroughly analyse my draft it gave me strong feedback that I was then able to adapt to
my product. I believe my finished product fits my ideal audience because I was aware of
their interests and what they initially wanted out of my video, digipak and poster.
Evaluation of the question:
During the process of my coursework and producing my products I used all of my audience
feedback to adjust my ideas to meet their needs and to make it a overall suitable product.
The feedback I was given was positive and negative which helped my confidence with my
coursework and gave my ideas to make my quality the best it could possibly be. To get the
best possible feedback I asked people in different ways (online and in person). Overall I am
incredibly pleased with the feedback I received and It helped me to create a product that I
am incredibly proud of.
