He taught Japanese management statistical process control techniques to improve quality and efficiency. His 14 Points and System of Profound Knowledge philosophy emphasized continuous improvement, eliminating waste, and empowering workers. Deming's teachings are credited with helping Japan achieve rapid economic growth and establishing high quality standards that are still recognized today with the annual Deming Prize awards.
