 How many, each of them used.

COMMON FORMS USED IN
DISPATCHING (8mark)
1. Material requisitions
1. Issuing material from store
2. No material issue without written requisitions
2. Job cards/ tickets
1. Worker identity for a material
2. Recording the production progress
3. Labour cards / tickets
1. It is knows as wage payment cards
2. Usually job and labour cards are combines
4. Move cards/ tickets
1. Movement of material between operations
5. Inspection cards / tickets
1. Report the quantity of work passed / rejected
6. Tool and gauge tickets
1. To issue any tool under requirements
DISPATCHING RULES
1. FCFS (First Come First Serve)
2. SOT (Shortest Operation Time)
3. Earliest due dates
4. STR (Slack Time Remaining)
5. STR/OR (Slack Time Remaining per Operation)
6. CR (Critical Ratio)
7. QR (Queue ratio)
EXPEDITING
(PROGRESSING)
 Expediting:
 Also known as follow – up or progressing
 Plan till job is completed
 FUNCTIONS OF EXPEDITING:
 Status reporting
 Attending holds-ups
 Modifying the production plans
 Co-ordinating with purchase
TYPES OF PROGRESSING
(8 MARK)
1. Programme control
1. Comparing the actual output production with the
production programme
2. Different recording tools used for these purpose include
gannt chart
2. Order progressing
1. Control of internal orders with purchased requisitions
2. Four main progressed system are:
1. Due filling date
2. Order delivery records
3. Operation progressing records
4. List order progress
3. Shortage chasing:
 comparing the actual availability of materials and
parts and quantities required for production
4. Daily plan progressing:
 Ensure that Daily plans are achieved .
5. Departmental progress control:
 To assess the efficiency of the different production
departments
RECORDING PROGRESS
 As we discussed earlier many recording tools
are available.
1. Gantt charts
2. Visual charts
3. Cumulative and weekly charts
1. GANTT CHARTS:
1. It is used to provide an immediate comparison
between schedule and reality
2. VISUAL CHARTS:
1. it is nothing but variations in gantt chart.
3. CUMULATIVE WEEKLY CHARTS
1. Weekly fluctuations in production.

  • 10. DISPATCHING RULES 1. FCFS (First Come First Serve) 2. SOT (Shortest Operation Time) 3. Earliest due dates 4. STR (Slack Time Remaining) 5. STR/OR (Slack Time Remaining per Operation) 6. CR (Critical Ratio) 7. QR (Queue ratio)
  • 11. EXPEDITING (PROGRESSING)  Expediting:  Also known as follow – up or progressing  Plan till job is completed  FUNCTIONS OF EXPEDITING:  Status reporting  Attending holds-ups  Modifying the production plans  Co-ordinating with purchase
  • 12. TYPES OF PROGRESSING (8 MARK) 1. Programme control 1. Comparing the actual output production with the production programme 2. Different recording tools used for these purpose include gannt chart 2. Order progressing 1. Control of internal orders with purchased requisitions 2. Four main progressed system are: 1. Due filling date 2. Order delivery records 3. Operation progressing records 4. List order progress
  • 13. 3. Shortage chasing:  comparing the actual availability of materials and parts and quantities required for production 4. Daily plan progressing:  Ensure that Daily plans are achieved . 5. Departmental progress control:  To assess the efficiency of the different production departments
  • 14. RECORDING PROGRESS  As we discussed earlier many recording tools are available. 1. Gantt charts 2. Visual charts 3. Cumulative and weekly charts
  • 15. 1. GANTT CHARTS: 1. It is used to provide an immediate comparison between schedule and reality 2. VISUAL CHARTS: 1. it is nothing but variations in gantt chart. 3. CUMULATIVE WEEKLY CHARTS 1. Weekly fluctuations in production.
