•The format we have chosen for our
production project this year is a music
video.
•We decided to choose this because as a
group, we thought that this would be the
easiest way to connect with our chosen
target audience.
•The style of our music video that we have chosen to
create will be a combination of styles and genres, such as
drum and bass, hip-hop and rap.
•We will mainly be conducting a narrative music video,
with less attention being placed on the actual performance
of the music video.
•We have also decided that in our music video, we will be
mainly cutting to the main beat, as we feel that this will be
the best way to attract and keep our viewers watching.
•We will not be using many digital effects, but still will be
making sure it looks visually stylish.
•Our main focus in our music video will be on
the camera shots used, and the editing
techniques. We will be cross-cutting between
scenes to express our narrative storyline to the
audience.
•We will also try and make the narrative
storyline match the song we choose as much as
possible to make sure our production is very
good.
•For our production project, we have decided
that our Ancillary tasks will be a website page
for the band and the magazine advertisement
for the album.
•We decided this after many discussions and
long considerations as we felt these two options
were the two most influent towards capturing
our target audience.
•We have decided that our primary target
audience will be teenagers, simply because we
feel, as we are teenagers ourselves, we can easily
understand them, and know their likes and
dislikes.
•Our secondary target audience will be the general
public/adults, with the age group being 20-45.
•We choose this type of target audience because
as a group, we felt as we are doing a music video,
it is not limited to a certain target audience.
•Before we decided to choose a music video, we first, as a
group, decided to come up with some basic and small
idea’s.
•One initial idea we had at first, was a boxing match
between a story big boxer, and a skinny and less violent
boxer. We would then show the stories of these two boxers
as they fought in the ring, with our chosen music playing in
the background.
•We also had an idea of doing a poverty – style
storyline, and how money does not really show how much
power someone can possess.
• For our music video, we have two main inspirations who
are either bands / artists. We will use our inspirations for
idea’s and performance advice.
•Our first main and biggest inspiration towards making a
music video will be rudimental, as we feel that in their
music videos, there is always a hidden message, or a
symmetry of life today, and because of this, is full of
emotions and feelings.
•Our second influence will be the rapper, Eminem. This is
because all of his music videos are different from the
typical rapper, and instead of creating his videos about sex
and money, he aims for a bigger target audience by making
his, about life and the troubles.
•Our mis-en-scene will be very important to making our music
video a success. This is because, if the video does not look good,
it will get less viewers, which will give other listeners an
impression that the music video itself is not very good,
something which will want to try and avoid.
•Because of this, we have decided to use a modern fashion
sense throughout the video, with loads of vague scenes of brand
new technology and software's.
•We will also be making it as attractive as possible, and because
of this, the mis-en-scene will be very important.
•Throughout the entire music video, we will be using a
number of different camera and editing techniques, in
an attempt to try and secure as much success as
possible.
•We will be cross-cutting straight to the beat, and will
be using many different editing techniques, such as
fast-paced editing and slow motion editing.
•This will all give our music video a more professional
and enhanced look, and will hopefully make it more of
a success.
