Introduction
The shaper machine is a machine that can make slots and grooves using a thin cutting tool. The linear cutting motion is provided by the “Whitworth Quick-Return Mechanism“. While the feed motion is supplied by the mechanism illustrated in this report "The shaper feed Mechanism”. During shaping, cutting and infeed motions are carried out by the tool, while the feed motion is performed by the table carrying the work piece.
The Shaper Feed Mechanism
- By using a combination of various shaped links we can change the rotating motion supplied by the motor to a linear cyclic motion.
- In order to obtain a precise groove width and a calculated cyclic longitudinal pitch the use of this mechanism was important.
Operation: (From figure 1)
• Gear (1) obtaining its motion from the quick feed mechanism’s input rotates.
• The gear moves the link (2).
• Body (3) and the ratchet wheel (4) are mounted on the same shaft. Motion is transmitted from link 2 to body (3).
• Body (3) contains a pawl which reciprocates about its axis moving the ratchet wheel with it.
• The gear rotates a screw which is mounted on its shaft.
• The nut mounted on the screw moves linearly providing the motion of the table resulting in the feed motion.

A Statistical Approach to Resolve Conflicting Requirements in Pervasive Compu...Osama M. Khaled
Pervasive computing systems are complex and challenging. In this research, our aim is to build a robust reference architecture for pervasive computing derived from real business needs and based on process re-engineering practices. We derived requirements from different sources grouped by selected quality features and worked on refining them by identifying the conflicts among these requirements, and by introducing solutions for them. We checked the consistency of these solutions across all the requirements. We built a mathematical model that describes the degrees of consistency with the requirements model and showed that they are normally distributed within that scope.

The application is develop by using best combination of front-end and back-end languages. The application is totally design like flat user interface. This flat user interface is more attractive user interface in 2017. The application is gives more important to the system functionality. The application is to manage the student’s details, driver’s details, bus details, bus route details, bus fees details and more. The application has only one unit for admin. The admin can manage the entire application. The admin can login into the application by using username and password of the admin. The application is develop for big and small colleges. It is more user friendly for non-computer person. Even they can easily learn how to manage the application within hours. The application is more secure by the admin. The system will give an effective output for the VB.Net and SQL Server given as input to the system. The compiled java program given as input to the system, after scanning the program will generate different reports. The application generates the report for users. The admin can view and download the report of the data. The application deliver the excel format reports. Because, excel formatted reports is very easy to understand the income and expense of the college bus. This application is mainly develop for windows operating system users. In 2017, 73% of people enterprises are using windows operating system. So the application will easily install for all the windows operating system users. The application-developed size is very low. The application consumes very low space in disk. Therefore, the user can allocate very minimum local disk space for this application.
Water scarcity is the lack of fresh water resources to meet the standard water demand. There are two type of water scarcity. One is physical. The other is economic water scarcity.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

Event Management System Vb Net Project Report.pdfKamal Acharya
In present era, the scopes of information technology growing with a very fast .We do not see any are untouched from this industry. The scope of information technology has become wider includes: Business and industry. Household Business, Communication, Education, Entertainment, Science, Medicine, Engineering, Distance Learning, Weather Forecasting. Carrier Searching and so on.
My project named “Event Management System” is software that store and maintained all events coordinated in college. It also helpful to print related reports. My project will help to record the events coordinated by faculties with their Name, Event subject, date & details in an efficient & effective ways.
In my system we have to make a system by which a user can record all events coordinated by a particular faculty. In our proposed system some more featured are added which differs it from the existing system such as security.

Our project explains about the student management. This project mainly explains the various actions related to student details. This project shows some ease in adding, editing and deleting the student details. It also provides a less time consuming process for viewing, adding, editing and deleting the marks of the students.
2. Process capability is the repeatability and consistency of a
manufacturing process relative to the customer requirements in terms
of specification limits of a product parameter. This measure is used to
objectively measure the degree to which your process is or is not
meeting the requirements.
PROCESS CAPABILITY
3. WHY STUDY PROCESS CAPABILITY
• Process capability studies provide a baseline for us to how to understand
the process is operating relative to the specifications.
• It is the first, thorough look at how variability is affecting the process,
and gives us Metris for quantifying that variability.
• Such studies also provide information regarding what the process
could do under best conditions, and thus give a performance target to
shoot for.
5. • Capability information helps designers to set realistic specifications
limits.
• Planning the interrelationship of sequential process.
• Selecting between the competing vendors.
• Reducing the variability of the manufacturing process.
• Predicting the extent of variability that process will exhibit.
Principle of Process Capability
6. EFFECT OF CP VALUES ON PROCESS
VALUE OF CPK CAPABILITY ACTION
Less than 1 Incapable Improve by reducing common
causes of variation in process
variables. Use 100% inspection.
Between 1 and 3 Capable Do nothing or some process
improvement. Dependent on
sample size.
Greater than 3 Very capable Do nothing or reduce
specification limits. No
inspection necessary.
7. MEASUREMENT OF PROCESS CAPABILITY
• There are several statistics that can be used to measure the capability of a
process: Cp, Cpk, and Cpm.
• Most capability indices estimates are valid only if the sample size used is
"large enough". (50 independent data values).
• The Cp, Cpk, and Cpm statistics assume that the population of data values is
normally distributed.
• Assuming a two-sided specification, if μ and σ are the mean and standard
deviation, respectively, of the normal data and USL, LSL, and T are the upper
and lower specification limits and the target value, respectively, then the
population capability indices are defined as follows.
9. IT GRADES
• IT Grade refers to the International Tolerance Grade of an industrial
process defined in ISO 286.
• The specific tolerance for a particular IT grade is calculated via the
following formula
where:
T is the tolerance in micrometres [µm]
D is the geometric mean dimension in millimetres [mm]
ITG is the IT Grade, a positive integer.
10. • An industrial process has an IT Grade associated with it, indicating how precise it is.
• Decide the level of precision of the level known as the resilience level.
• It should be noted the tolerance values given in the table are the full tolerance zone
(full range), therefore the value should be divided by 2 when it is written as a
bilateral tolerance.
Example: Write the following dimensions with bilateral tolerances using
IT12: 6, 50, 150 mm
6 ± 0.06 , 50 ± 0.125 , 150 ± 0.2
