The Capitalist Economy Through A Critical Lens
Throughout our Communication Studies, we have examined the capitalist economy through a
critical lens and as a result, corporations always appear at the forefront of debate, blame, and power.
From a neo liberalist economic standpoint, the typical prosumer is encouraged to create consumer
generated content, but what happens when you put your creative labour to the test? York
University consistently advocates, this is your time ; in other words, students are responsible for
their own success and are held liable for any failures or mishaps they may endure. While
contemporary technologies have multiplied and democratized opportunities for musical creativity,
intellectual propertylaw has been used to repress our right to free speech, which is guaranteed under
the first amendment (Demers 2006). Therefore, the industry s effort at convincing people that file
sharing is equivalent to thievery have turned an increasing number of artists into intellectual
propertyactivists.
Kembrew McLeod, independent filmmaker and Associate Professor of Communication Studies at
the University of Iowa, advocates for the revision of intellectual property law in regards to digital
sampling in his article, Confessions of An Intellectual (Property): Danger Mouse, Mickey Mouse,
Sonny Bono, and My Long Winding Path as Copyright Activist (McLeod 2014). The scope of
McLeod s research removes the technological determinant that precedes our culture. The author

Harassment Towards Women Playing Educational Sports
Sports have always been an intrical part of America s culture and society, from playing baseball
in the front yard to knocking a homerun out of the ballpark, but this playing in the fields only
applied to boys. Unfortunately, before Title Nine was established in 1972, there was a great deal
of harassment towards women playing educational sports. This new amendment to the Civil Acts,
broke down the barriers for women, and demanded proportionality between men s and women s
athletic programs. Due to the way of society 35 years ago, Title Nine was necessary for women to
receive equal rights in educational sports. Title Nine, an act passed in 1972, prohibits
discrimination in all areas of educationand provides equality for both men and women in
education systems. However, Title Nine is most importantly known for its athletic achievements
and endeavors. This federal law, in regards to educational athletic programs, states that no person
in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the
benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving
federal financial assistance , according to the Forum of Public Policy. In other words, females are
allowed to play in sports in educational athletic programs and receive the same equal opportunities
and treatment as male athletes. Separate teams must be provided for males and females, otherwise
both shall be allowed to try out for the same team.

The film Inside Job is explained the occurrence of the global financial crisis in 2008. It has shown
that lots of companies have bankrupted and millions of people lose their jobs and homes around
the world. Such as United States, Iceland, England, France, Singapore and China. There is a

In this film governments allow Banks to have home ownership program, its lend money to poor
people to buy houses. It starts out great and home ownership explodes. But when the crisis comes
and the bubbles burst, the poor people would not repay their mortgage, they cannot afford, and then
they become homeless. The rich people got the profit. It can be seen that during the financial crisis,
the poor people lose more, and the rich people get more. Therefore, everytime the government
intervenes in the free market, even on the grounds of virtue, bad things will happen. We need to be
wary when politicians try to do things on our behalf.
The initial causes of collapse of financial system in Iceland was deregulated banks within Iceland

Analysis Of The Book Wonderland, And Its Sequel
In analyzing Lewis Carroll s works Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, and its sequel, Through the
Looking Glass, studying the the illustrations is of as great importance as examining the text that
they depict. From the first sentence of Wonderland, Carroll exhibits a concern for illustrations and
their role regarding storytelling in writing, what is the use of a book , thought Alice, without
pictures, (Carroll 7). As Carroll seems to have intended, the words which comprise Wonderland and
Looking Glass are only a one facet in the reader s interpretation of the two works. Equally important
as the written text to the experience of Wonderland and Looking Glass House is illustration, and by
extension different artists interpretations of these fantastical worlds. Interpreting the Alice stories
through illustration first was Carroll himself, further increasing the interest of the relation between
image and text as well as the question of the importance of pictures to their stories. Evidently
Carroll intended the text of Alice s adventures to be accompanied with images for readers, even
initially putting in the time and effort himself to ensure their illustration, demonstrating the great
concern he had for the relationship between the text of a story and its visual depiction. However,
for the first official publication of Wonderland, Carroll enlisted artist John Tenniel to create entirely
new illustrations for the story. These new illustrations by Tenniel have become iconic

Research Paper On Pope John Paul II
Pope John Paul the Second It was recently this year that the Catholic world had lost its leader,
Pope John Paul II. For many believers John Paul was a great icon and governed their church in
the most respectful way. Since his election in 1978, there have been many books, movies and
articles on the life of Karol Wojtyla. Many studies depicted him as one of the greatest Popes
Catholicism ever had. He has not only traveled the world and became famous on all continents,
but has tried very hard to keep peace with all religions far and wide. His theologies and

Out of necessity this also includes other human persons and human community. The Popes
understanding of personalism found its practical application in his ethics: the indispensable role
of freedom, the fulfillment of freedom in the loving gift of self to others and the effect that
moral choices have on the person who makes them. These few attributes were the ones that made
him the person he was. It all came from the love he has received from his closest family, his
brother and parents, of whom all three have died by the time he was 22 years old. Personalism
is so central to Karol Wojtyla s internal psychological and spiritual structure, that it overflows into
his theology. An example of that is his divine revelation as the personal messenger of God to all
people. This also ties in with the quintessential congregation of two personal realities, one of which
is human and one divine. It also covers various aspects of the religious freedom of the human
person, social ethics, grace and human sexuality. John Paul II was much disciplined in all these
matters and shared the love to oneself and others.
His theology and philosophy reached however even further than his religion. Despite his lack of
interest in politics, he has met and spoken to leaders of many countries. This was most

The Psychology of Play During Childhood Essay
Play is the business of childhood, allowing your child free rein to experiment with the world around
him and the emotional world inside him, says Linda Acredolo, professor of psychology at the
University of California at Davis and co author of Baby Signs: How to Talk With Your Baby Before
Your Baby Can Talk and Baby Minds: Brain Building Games Your Baby Will Love. While it may
look like mere child s playto you, there s a lot of work problem solving, skill building, overcoming
physical and mental challenges going on behind the scenes. Here are some of the things your child

If he s coming to terms with a new sibling, for example, he may incorporate a lot of nurturing
behavior into his play, mimicking your interaction with his new brother or sister. Imaginative play
gives your child a sense of control as he interprets the dramas of everyday life and practices the
rules of social behavior.
How you can encourage imaginative play: Keep a box of everyday items that your child can use
during pretend play. Kid versions of adult objects, such as play telephones and plastic dishes, help
facilitate role playing, and open ended objects (toys that can have more than one use), such as
colored blocks, stretch the imagination with unlimited possibilities.
Play promotes social skills As toddlers, children play side by side without obvious
communication (this is called parallel play). During the preschool years, they start to interact
with each other by creating complex story lines together. As they do this, they learn to negotiate,
cooperate, and share (though some kids don t master the art of sharing until they re 4 to 6 years
old). When children disagree about who gets to be the daddy or who will wear the purple dress,
they re actually developing important social skills, says Sara Wilford, director of the Early
Childhood Program at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York.

Compare And Contrast Calvin And Hobbes
Have you ever heard of the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes? If not, there s probably a good
reason why. Calvin and Hobbes was written and illustrated by Bill Watterson, and was one of the
most influential comic strips of the 1980s and 90s. This strip showed childhood as it really is. As
the strip s popularity increased, Bill Wattersonstarted to fight a war with his syndicate behind the
scenes. This battle was about licensing. Bill Watterson did not want to license Calvin and Hobbes
because he believed that licensing cheapens the original creation, does not respect the original
comic, and makes a strip lose its integrity.

Different Forms of Love in Romeo and Juliet
In the early stages of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare conveys love in many different ways. Love
is shown as being imperfect, such as bawdy love, unrequited love and fatherly and maternal love,
this contrasts greatly to Romeo and Juliet s pure, perfect and requited love, and makes it seem all
the more true before it is shown to be deadly.
At the very beginning of act1 scene 1, bawdy love is shown by two lower class characters,
Sampson and Gregory, who don t think of women as equal but think of love in a purely sexual
way, this is shown when they say therefore women being the weaker vessels are ever thrust to the
wall. This shows that they feel that because they are stronger than women, they have more power
over them and so the woman can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows how something imperfect, like bawdiness, can nevertheless be mixed with a more pure
type of love such as the maternal love, shown by the nurse.
At the outset, when Capulet is talking about marriage proposals to Paris, he shows his fatherly
love and concern for his daughter and her happiness. He doesn t want to marry her off too early,
or force her to marry someone that she doesn t like. He conveys this by saying, Earth hath
swallowed all my hoped but she... woo her gentle Paris, and her consent is but a part. This shows
that Capulet cares about Juliet because she is the only hope that he has left. He tells Paris to woo
her gently and not to push, or pressurise Juliet into marrying him, this shows his concern about
her. In addition to that, Capulet tells Paris that Juliet s consent is but a part which shows his
consideration and trust in Juliet, that she is allowed to have her say in the marriage and that he
trusts her to choose the right husband. He also doesn t want her to marry at such a young age; this
is made clear when he says let two more summers wither in their pride
Ere we may think her ripe to be a bride. By saying this, it is clear how much Capulet cherishes
Juliet. He is risking a rich suitor, to let Juliet become more mature before she marries. By
speaking in prose Shakespeare shows Capulet s class and authority, nevertheless, it also shows the
sincerity of his love for Juliet. However the nurse also shows the love of a parent, she

The Davis Trial-Accused of Murder by Abortion Essay example
The Queen vs. Davis case concerns the murder trial of Arthur Paul Davis and Alice Davis that
occurred in 1875. In it, they were tried and convicted of murder for conducting an abortion; the
killing of a fetus and subsequently causing death of the victims, Catherine Laing and Jane Vaughn

nature of women s lives in Toronto during the 1870s as subordinate women who are deemed as
caretakers and how women managed to end unwanted pregnancies. During the late 19th century

Suspicions grew about the cause of death as the body did not seem like a case of typhoid when

Continentalism is a major contributing factor because it can be very threatening for the less
powerful country. Continentalism refers to the presence of a global power (e.g., United States) at
one s border must be considered a fact of special importance (Hiller 61). This is to say that the
more powerful country has influence over the less powerful country. This concept is relevant to my
argument about protecting Canada s cultural industries because there has been an increasing level
in American and foreign cultural penetration in Canada. Sharing a large border and more
importantly a common language with the United States means Canada is in a very difficult position
in regard to American culture, with direct attempts at the Canadian market or the general diffusion
of American culture in the globalized media arena. Thus the people of Canada are influenced
heavily by American culture and are surrounded more by their culture. The Canadian government
should regulate cultural industries so we do not lose interest in our own content. Most of our
culture in Canada is from foreign sources: More than 80% of English language magazines

Trivial Matters Make A Good Satire
Trivial matters make a good satire. A satire, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, is a poem
ridiculing prevalent vices or follies by means of elevated language and other poetic devices.
Alexander Pope s The Rape of the Lock poem is a mock epic, a subgenre of the satire. Pope s poem
follows a pattern that resembles epic poetryIt is relatively long, divided in cantos, developed in
heroic couplets in Iambic Pentameter. Also, the action of the story takes place in a single day, in a
single location: London; thus, there is a unity of time, place and action. By means of these
devices, the speaker creates a mock epic where otherworld characters Sylphs, spirits, and so
forth interact with Belinda, an earthly character with the intention of protecting her from any
harm (Canto 2, 122); Belinda is an aristocratic young lady who, according to fate (Canto 3, 151)
a central point in epic poetry, loses one of her locks at the hands of the baron in the social
gathering that is taking place later on that day at the Hampton Court Palace. Belinda, being part
of the aristocratic circles, is determined to be the center of attention in that social gathering, for
she wants to be highly regarded (Canto 3, line 25); however the opposite happens when the Baron
cuts one of her locks that Belinda feels dishonored (Canto 4, 152), according to her viewpoint. It is
the excessive importance that Belinda gives to her flock what, by a change of focus, the speaker

Liberia now ranks among the fastest growing economies in sub Saharan Africa, even though the

Covetousness Of God In Amadeus
Moreover, Mozart s music in Amadeus is attributed to survey intricate relationship between God
and humans. Through Salieri s powerful jealousy of Mozart s music and his intense blame on
God, the movie proposes the issue of human s incomplete belief in God and the question about
the existence of God. Salieri, in the beginning part of the movie, is presented as the profoundly
religious human. He believes that God grants his faithful wish to be a successful composer so he
tries to devote to his God earnestly. However, after the appearance of Mozart in his life, Salieri
starts to distrust God and commit blasphemy. Throughout the movie, Salieri s strong covetousness

Wishes In The Raven
A wish is a hope or desire for something. Fictionally, wishes can be used as plot devices. In
folklore, opportunities for making a wish or for wishes to come true or be granted are themes that
are sometimes used.
In literature
In fiction a wish is a supernatural demand placed on the recipient s unlimited request. When it is the
center of a tale, the wish is usually a template for a morality tale, be careful what you wish for ; it
can also be a small part of a tale, in which case it is often used as a plot device. One can wish on
many things for example: wishing wells, dandelions when one blows the seeds or light them on
fire, stars and much more. When one wishes in a well he or she throws money in, in the hope his

Some wishes appear to be granted by nothing in particular. Snow White s mother s wish for a
beautiful child might have been a coincidence, but the father s wish in The Seven Ravens
transforms his seven sons into ravens, just as the mother s wish in The Raven transforms her
daughter. This is common in a tale involving a person, male or female, wishing for a child, even
one that is a hedgehog, or a sprig of myrtle, or no bigger than a hazel nut.
The number of wishes granted varies. Aladdin had an unlimited number in the original story, but
was restricted to three wishes in the 1992 Disney film. As in the Charles Perrault tale The
Ridiculous Wishes, three is the most common, but others may be granted to fit the constraints of
the tale. Several authors have spun variations of the wish for more wishes theme, though some
disallow this as cheating. In many stories the wording of the wish is extremely important. For
example, characters often say, I wish I was wealthy. This wording could be taken literally, the wish
granted so that at one time the wisher was wealthy but is not any more. Saying, I wish to be
wealthy , then because to

Abenomics takes into account three pronged approach to re flate the economy through monetary,
fiscal, and structural policies.
These are also known as three arrows of Abenomics: expansionary fiscal policy, expansionary
monetary policy and structural reform.
The first two arrows act as short term stimulus which aims at increasing the aggregate demand.
While the third arrow focuses on long term goals and aims to deregulate the economy such as to
increase the economic efficiency.
Dramatically expansive monetary policy Goal is to end deflation, lead to an increase in prices to an

More than half of the world s supply of cobalt is delivered from DR Congo. 40% of all workers in
mines are children. Children as young as seven work in extremely harsh conditions to mine cobalt
which ends up in a lot of items we use in our daily life such as smartphones, cars, and computers.
Mining is one of the worst forms of child labour, due to the hazardous conditions and strenuous

Baz Luhrman s Film Romeo and Juliet
Baz Luhrman s Film Romeo and Juliet In the film Romeo and Juliet , Baz Luhrman said that he

audience. I am trying to find out the challenges he faced and how he solved them and say how
successful he was in making the script work for a modern audience. The problems faced by a
modern director of Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare s original audience and theatre and the style

Mars Dichotomy
Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun. Named after the Roman god of war, and often described
as the Red Planet due to its reddish appearance. Mars is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere
composed primarily of carbon dioxide.
Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and the second smallest planet in the Solar System, after
Mercury. Named after the Roman god of war, it is often referred to as the Red Planet because the
iron oxide prevalent on its surface gives it a reddish appearance. similar to 5261 Eureka, a Mars

Climate
Of all the planets in the Solar System, the seasons of Mars are the most Earth like, due to the
similar tilts of the two planets rotational axes. The lengths of the Martian seasons are about twice
those of Earth s because Mars s greater distance from the Sun leads to the Martian year being about
two Earth years long. Martian surface temperatures vary from lows of about at the winter polar
caps to highs of up to in equatorial summer. The wide range in temperatures is due to the thin
atmosphere which cannot store much solar heat, the low atmospheric pressure, and the low thermal
inertia of Martian soil.
In addition, recent analysis of the Phoenix WCL showed that the Ca2 in the Phoenix soil has not
interacted with liquid water of any form, perhaps for as long as 600 Myr. If it had, the highly
soluble Ca2 in contact with liquid water would have formed only CaSO4. This suggests a severely
arid environment, with minimal or no liquid water

Persuasive Essay On Traffic Laws
As time progresses, an interest for advancement lingers within individuals, as have with times
passed. That is to say, such interest arouses the desire for putting into play several well thought out
ideas. Some of which have resulted successful and common within the population. In particular, the
invention of the automobile. Nowadays, drivinghas become one of the most used methods for
transportation. In fact, with car technology improving, the amount of drivers seem to further
escalate. A Los Angeles Times article states, the number of vehicles on the road reached a record
level of almost 253 million, an increase of more than 3.7 million, or 1.5%, (253 Million Cars and
Trucks on U.S. Roads). Even though modern technology has opened windows to a new world of
possibilities, individuals still take such developments for granted. Drivers thoughtlessly violate
trafficlaws, which in return, result in a range of consequences. For this reason, citizens should
respect laws to avoid getting themselves into trouble and to grow an appreciation for the current
way of life.
Undoubtedly, transportation hasn t always been as accessible as it is now. For centuries, people
have come up with innumerable ways of getting themselves from one location to another. In former
times, people would use their available resources for several purposes. Some of these included the
use of animals for travel, which involved: horses, ox, mules, camels, etc. Yet, at the same time,

a good balance you can find your life task. Fourteen years ago, I used to work for Hewlett Packard

how it happened my division was the first one to go after the Compaqmerger. This is probably my
starting point for my mastery journey.
I moved the family to Orlando, FL and started my own business. I used to put a lot of ours in to

Imperialism In A Small Place
The initial injustices inflicted upon the people of the Caribbean during the time of colonization did
not end with independence or emancipation, but still remain a prevalent part of Caribbean society.
The absolute political and economic control exercised by the colonizers created an inherently
negative platform on which the modern political and economic systems of the Caribbean now
stand. The corruption of the Antiguan government is introduced by Jamaica Kincaid in her novel,
A Small Place. Throughout the novel, Kincaid takes issue with the numerous instances in which
Antiguans are still treated as second rate citizens within their own land due to political and
economic corruption. It is clear that the skeletons of these organizations remain from the time of
British colonization. From perceptions of beauty to the structure of the government, British
influences are seen all throughout Antigua. Kincaid describes the beautiful yellow of the buildings

The Break Up
Introduction
Effective communication is one of the most important things to maintain a happy relationship.
Communication will help to create a better atmosphere and to know what are the interests, thoughts
and feelings of your loved one. All romantic relationships need a lot of communications from both
sides. The main factor is interpersonal communication, which couples are able to overlap
environments and create a relationship. We reviewed the movie The Breakup and have found the
concepts of Integrating, differentiating, and terminating. This movie shows how ineffective
communication can dissolve a relationship. The lack of communication is the main factor why

In this stage is where the me messages begin to occur forgetting about the we orientation. (Alder,

family. The argument begins because Gary wanted to get a pool table in the condo, Brooke didn t
agree with him and a conflict begins. Both of them begin to start talking about their own interests,
forgetting about the interest of them as a couple.
The third concept we choose to write on is Terminating. According to the book Looking Out
Looking In, terminating is the stage where relationships deteriorate until they reach their final
stage. Not all relationships end, many of the marriages last for a lifetime, but other relationships
have the desire to dissociate. (Alder, 2012) Like it was the case of the movie, Brooke decides to
terminate the relationship because she felt that there is nothing much left. She believed that Gary
did care much about her. But the problem really was that both of them didn t find a way to
communicate effectively. Although Brooke and Gary loved each other very much it was
impossible for them to be together because of the lack of communication.

In essay two of Nietzsche s On the Genealogy of Morality , Guilt , bad conscience and related

with an account where the concept of guilt has been misconstrued by the evolution of society. This
very shift in our understanding of guilt has subsequently led to, what Nietzsche claims to be, bad
conscience . To understand this evolution of guilt and the entity of bad conscience it is necessary
to closely analyze Nietzsche s account and in doing so, delve deeper into the mechanics of
Nietzsche s understanding of our morality.

Nietzsche believes that this value system of suffering, which was at the heart of ancient civilization,
did not go against life but celebrated the vitality of it, Nietzsche claims that guilt today has been
misconstrued as a result of the slave morality. The internalization process that man underwent
through the slave revolt in morality created depth and inner reflection that led to what Nietzsche
calls bad conscience . This notion of bad conscience was ultimately caused by the forced turning of
our violent instincts to punish others inward. This turning resulted in frustration as man lacked the
capability to express himself, in result of this, we created an inner life and conscience that sought to
remove these instincts. Bad conscience is therefore something that goes against life, that sickens
humanity, it does not allow for an expression of man s vitality for life. Instead, bad conscience
defines a new set of values for humanity that insist suffering to be something that destroys life. The
concept of guilt now takes on a different meaning; it represents an internal punishment.
Nietzsche s account of the original meaning of guilt seems to reflect a Hobbesian approach to the
way humanity works. Hobbes believes that society works under the terms of a social contract just
as Nietzsche does, however whilst these accounts may share the same views on

water purification, there are still other possible sources that can cause unclean waters. Having been
in business for more than 60 years, they want you to be aware that old pipes can carry traces of
lead and that natural deposits and groundwater can contain various chemicals like arsenic, iron.
To combat these issues, Anderson Water Systems has crafted filtration systems that will purify the
water before you come in contact with it. By utilizing reverse osmosis, these systems can filter out
any contaminants and impurities. Whether we re drinking it from a tall glass or soaking in it in

Marine Marcoalgaes Lab Report
Photosynthesis of marine marcoalgaes split into 2 processes; light reaction (photochemical reaction
which is affected by concentration of the chlorophyll and irradiance) and the dark reaction
(chemical process, where temperature and concentration of the substrate influence on). However
between those two reactions, there is an intermediates metabolic process, where NADPH and ATP
are produced. The amount of produced NADPH and ATP depends upon light
limitation, which later
results of dark reaction sufficiency. In photosynthesispigments function is to absorb the light

Hence most of the energy which was previously absorbed by accessory pigments is actually
transfer to chlorophyll a. This transfer is possible due to a fact that chlorophyll a among all
other pigments have the possibility to absorb at the longest wavelength. Moreover its excitation
cost less energy. However chlorophyll a can be divided into different forms, which depends upon
changes of the maximal wavelength absorption, which range between 662 and 700 nm. This
segregation system allows the transfer from the short wavelength to long wavelength and

The Empire Of The Seljuk Ottoman Empire
One of the small Turkish nomadic tribes in Anatolia during the 13th century was a dynasty named
after the ruler Osman, the Ottomans. This small state emerged in Anatolia during the breakdown of
the empire of the Seljuk Turks. The Ottomans quickly became an undeniable force and ended all
other Turkish dynasties. The Ottoman Empirebecame one of the largest and longest lasting empires
in the world, ruling the majority of the Middle East, northern Africa and southeastern Europe for
over 600 years until its eventual fall in 1922.
The Ottomans were one of the numbers of Turkish tribes that migrated from Central Asia. Initially
they followed a primitive shamanistic religion. Their contacts with various tribes led to the
introduction of Islam and they acquired their greatest combat tradition, that of the ghazi warrior.
The first period of the Ottoman history was characterized by almost continuous territorial
expansion. The Ottoman dominion spread out from a small Anatolian principality to cover a major
amount of land in Middle East and southeastern Europe.
Following the final defeat of the Seljuk Empire in 1293, Osman, the founder of the Ottoman
dynasty, led his principality to take over Byzantine Bithynia in northwestern Anatolia, commanded
the ghazis against the Byzantines. Osman and his successors concentrated their attacks on
Byzantine territories bordering the Bosphorus and the Sea of Marmara to the west. The Ottomans
took advantage of the decay of the Byzantine frontier

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Pedicle Screw Anchorage
The use of pedicle screw instrumentation in the spine has evolved over the last two decades. The
preliminary use of pedicle screws began in the lumbar spine. As surgeons became more comfortable
with the complex anatomy required for accurate screw placement, the use of pedicle
instrumentation has evolved to include their use in the thoracolumbar and thoracic spine. The
impetus behind their increased use is a result of the many advantages that pedicle screw anchorage
offers over traditional hook and rod constructs. Improved deformity correction and overall construct
rigidity are two important advantages of pedicle screw instrumentation due its 3 column control
over the spinal elements. First, pedicle screw instrumentation precludes the need to place
instrumentation within the spinal canal with its inherent risk of neurologic injury. Second, the
placement of pedicle... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(1818) reported twelve cases of cerebrospinal fluid leakage in 169 cases of pedicular screw
placement. Most root sleeves are anchored inferiorly to the subjected pedicle .7 In the lumbar
region, the distance between the vertebral rami and the lateral border of the pedicle is 4.8 mm at
L1 and 3.1 at L5.8 Pedicle morphometric parameters show considerable variations in different
studies due to different characteristics of population studied. Proper preoperative evaluation should
be done to accurately ascertain pedicle size before surgery so improper use of screw can be avoided.
Different morphometric studies suggests the method for determining actual pedicle dimensions is
by careful measurements of pedicles.9 Studies suggest that the pedicle morphometry is variable in
different population.10 Thus, the present study desires to study the morphometric parameters of the
thoracic and lumbar pedicle in Indian population for its surgical

Importance Of World Order
World Order refers to the creation of global relationships and maintenance of world peace. The
process governs affiliations between nation states and other global participants, including
transnational corporations, regional federations, intergovernmental and non government
organisations. World order and nation state interactions form the backbone of economic
interdependence and globalisation.
The maintenance of world order is conducted via the watchful eye of the United Nations (UN). The
UN is the most important body in maintaining world order and was established after World War II.
It enforces treaties by imposing sanctions, has a judicial arm in the International Court of Justice
(ICJ), creates declarations and customary law, registers treaties, makes decisions on world order
issues and fosters economic and social cooperation between nation states.
Without world order, and the bodies and laws that govern relationships between nations and other
global participants, there would be international anarchy; this could potentially lead to world
conflict and global destruction. World order and nation state interactions form the backbone of
economic interdependence and globalisation.
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is the principle organ of the UN and is responsible to
maintain international peace and security and resolve international problems of economic, social or
humanitarian nature. The role often involves responding to crisis around the world by establishing

La Boheme Essay
La Boheme
Music affects our emotions and has much to do with our everyday lives. Music has always and
will be a part of my life. I would have to say that without music there is no life something is
missing in our lives without music. If there were no music society we would only have people
speaking to each other, and there would be no entertainment. The form of musical entertainment
that I attended was the opera, La Boheme, composed by Giacommo Puccini and Libretto by
Giuseppe and Luigi Illica. The opera took place at The New City Opera on November 10, 2001.
La Boheme takes place in 1830, 19th century Paris around Christmas time. This opera tells the
tragic love story of a young Bohemian, Rodolfo, who finds a love interest in ... Show more content

They greatly improved the intensity and helped the theme and plot of the story move along
smoothly. My favorite part of the opera would have to be the duet present in Act I, shared
between the two main characters, Rodolfo and Mimi. To hear these two characters singing in
unison was music to my ears . Mimi, the soprano, hit all her notes beautifully and seemed to run
smoothly through her parts. Rodolfo, who represented a tenor, expressed emotion and great
character. This piece was where I seemed to become engulfed in their early blossoming
relationship. I became entranced in their vocals and at times I would replace my self with Mimi
s character. The orchestra and the singers flowed together in a way indescribable creating a level
of great intimacy. I have always been extremely impressed with the human voice. I value it as one
of the most treasured instruments. The main attraction for myself was the non evident combined
aria and recitative in the production. In most opera there is an aria, or overflow of melody
following the recitative. This helps express the appropriate feelings needed for the audience to
grasp the key aspects of the opera. Also, it helps bring the plot to a halt and the characters then are
able to reflect upon what is occurring in the story. Puccini was much more concerned with his
librettos and would rather use the same material in each of his acts. At the conclusion of many
songs I caught myself wanting to stand to my

Water (H2O) is a good solvent because it is partially polarized. The hydrogen ends of the water
molecule have a partial positive charge, and the oxygen end of the molecule has a partial negative
charge. This is because the oxygen atom holds on more tightly to the electrons it shares with the
hydrogen atoms. The partial charges make it possible for water molecules to arrange themselves
around charged atoms (ions) in solution, like the sodium (Na+) and chloride (Clв€’) ions that
dissociate when table salt dissolves in water.
Other substances that dissolve in water also lower the freezing point of the solution. The amount
by which the freezing point is lowered depends only on the number of molecules dissolved, not
on their chemical nature. This is an example of a colligative property. In this project, you ll
investigate different substances to see how they affect the rate at which ice cubes melt. You ll test
substances that dissolve in water (i.e., soluble substances), like salt and sugar, as well as
substances that don t dissolve in water (i.e., insoluble substances), like sand and pepper. Which
substances will speed up the melting of the ice?
Terms and Concepts
To do this project, you should do research that enables you to understand the following terms and
concepts:
Solution
Solute
Solvent

Classification and Scientific Name of Domestic Pigs
The scientific name of domestic pigs is Sus scrofa domesticus, or Sus domestica, depending on
whom one asks. Sus means pig , scrofa means breeding sow , and domeseticus means domesticated
in Latin. Its higher taxonomic order follows so: Domain Eukarya Kingdom Animalia Phylum
Chordata Class Mammalia Order Artiodactyla Family SuidaeGenus Sus Species scrofa/domestica
Subspecies (only if Species is scrofa) domesticus
Of the domestic pigs, there are subcategories that are not yet officially classified, but only called
by their common names in regions where they are available these unofficial subspecies are
selectively bred for sale to farmers and pet owners. They are bred in North America and Western
Europe for pethood, and globally for livestock. The scientific classification Sus domestica was
designated to pigs domesticated for a farm setting, but it also encompasses pet pigs, which are
truly the same animal, but bred to be much smaller. Pet pigs are my favorite animals. They are
called micro pigs , mini pigs , teacup pigs , and potbelly pigs. The pig of my interest, the domestic
pet pig, can live indoors like a dog or cat, or outdoors in pig houses. In case of outdoor housing, the
owner must be conscious and cautious about compensating for the potential harms of outdoor
weather to suit the needs of her pig. Comfortable situation must be provided where comfortable
conditions are unavailable. Cold weather below 4.5 celsius is not comfortable

Analysis Of The Book Wonderland, And Its Sequel In analyzing Lewis Carroll s works Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, and its sequel, Through the Looking Glass, studying the the illustrations is of as great importance as examining the text that they depict. From the first sentence of Wonderland, Carroll exhibits a concern for illustrations and their role regarding storytelling in writing, what is the use of a book , thought Alice, without pictures, (Carroll 7). As Carroll seems to have intended, the words which comprise Wonderland and Looking Glass are only a one facet in the reader s interpretation of the two works. Equally important as the written text to the experience of Wonderland and Looking Glass House is illustration, and by extension different artists interpretations of these fantastical worlds. Interpreting the Alice stories through illustration first was Carroll himself, further increasing the interest of the relation between image and text as well as the question of the importance of pictures to their stories. Evidently Carroll intended the text of Alice s adventures to be accompanied with images for readers, even initially putting in the time and effort himself to ensure their illustration, demonstrating the great concern he had for the relationship between the text of a story and its visual depiction. These few attributes were the ones that made him the person he was. It all came from the love he has received from his closest family, his brother and parents, of whom all three have died by the time he was 22 years old. Personalism is so central to Karol Wojtyla s internal psychological and spiritual structure, that it overflows into his theology. An example of that is his divine revelation as the personal messenger of God to all people. This also ties in with the quintessential congregation of two personal realities, one of which is human and one divine. It also covers various aspects of the religious freedom of the human person, social ethics, grace and human sexuality. This shows how something imperfect, like bawdiness, can nevertheless be mixed with a more pure type of love such as the maternal love, shown by the nurse. At the outset, when Capulet is talking about marriage proposals to Paris, he shows his fatherly love and concern for his daughter and her happiness. He doesn t want to marry her off too early, or force her to marry someone that she doesn t like. He conveys this by saying, Earth hath swallowed all my hoped but she... woo her gentle Paris, and her consent is but a part. This shows that Capulet cares about Juliet because she is the only hope that he has left. He tells Paris to woo her gently and not to push, or pressurise Juliet into marrying him, this shows his concern about her. In addition to that, Capulet tells Paris that Juliet s consent is but a part which shows his consideration and trust in Juliet, that she is allowed to have her say in the marriage and that he trusts her to choose the right husband. He also doesn t want her to marry at such a young age; this is made clear when he says let two more summers wither in their pride Ere we may think her ripe to be a bride. By saying this, it is clear how much Capulet cherishes Juliet. He is risking a rich suitor, to let Juliet become more mature before she marries. The internalization process that man underwent through the slave revolt in morality created depth and inner reflection that led to what Nietzsche calls bad conscience . This notion of bad conscience was ultimately caused by the forced turning of our violent instincts to punish others inward. This turning resulted in frustration as man lacked the capability to express himself, in result of this, we created an inner life and conscience that sought to remove these instincts. Bad conscience is therefore something that goes against life, that sickens humanity, it does not allow for an expression of man s vitality for life. Without world order, and the bodies and laws that govern relationships between nations and other global participants, there would be international anarchy; this could potentially lead to world conflict and global destruction. World order and nation state interactions form the backbone of economic interdependence and globalisation. The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is the principle organ of the UN and is responsible to maintain international peace and security and resolve international problems of economic, social or humanitarian nature. The role often involves responding to crisis around the world by establishing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. La Boheme Essay La Boheme Music affects our emotions and has much to do with our everyday lives. Music has always and will be a part of my life. I would have to say that without music there is no life something is missing in our lives without music. If there were no music society we would only have people speaking to each other, and there would be no entertainment. The form of musical entertainment that I attended was the opera, La Boheme, composed by Giacommo Puccini and Libretto by Giuseppe and Luigi Illica. The opera took place at The New City Opera on November 10, 2001. La Boheme takes place in 1830, 19th century Paris around Christmas time. This opera tells the tragic love story of a young Bohemian, Rodolfo, who finds a love interest in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They greatly improved the intensity and helped the theme and plot of the story move along smoothly. My favorite part of the opera would have to be the duet present in Act I, shared between the two main characters, Rodolfo and Mimi. To hear these two characters singing in unison was music to my ears . Mimi, the soprano, hit all her notes beautifully and seemed to run smoothly through her parts. Rodolfo, who represented a tenor, expressed emotion and great character. This piece was where I seemed to become engulfed in their early blossoming relationship. I became entranced in their vocals and at times I would replace my self with Mimi s character. The orchestra and the singers flowed together in a way indescribable creating a level of great intimacy. I have always been extremely impressed with the human voice. I value it as one of the most treasured instruments. The main attraction for myself was the non evident combined aria and recitative in the production. In most opera there is an aria, or overflow of melody following the recitative. This helps express the appropriate feelings needed for the audience to grasp the key aspects of the opera. Also, it helps bring the plot to a halt and the characters then are able to reflect upon what is occurring in the story. Puccini was much more concerned with his librettos and would rather use the same material in each of his acts. At the conclusion of many songs I caught myself wanting to stand to my ... • 43. Essay What Makes Ice Melt Faster What Interaction Of Outside Influence Makes Ice Melt Fastest? A. Explain the significance of the given factors in your project design plan: Problem statement Relevance of your testable question Problem Statement: I have lived in a place that during the winter, ice would form on the streets and sidewalks and have wondered why things such as salt or sand are used over other methods to help de ice the surfaces? Why is salt or sand the most commonly used substances when addressing this issue? Abstract If you live in a place that gets cold in the winter, you ve probably seen trucks out spreading a mixture of sand and salt on the streets after a snowfall to help de ice the road. Have you ever wondered how this works? This basic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Water (H2O) is a good solvent because it is partially polarized. The hydrogen ends of the water molecule have a partial positive charge, and the oxygen end of the molecule has a partial negative charge. This is because the oxygen atom holds on more tightly to the electrons it shares with the hydrogen atoms. The partial charges make it possible for water molecules to arrange themselves around charged atoms (ions) in solution, like the sodium (Na+) and chloride (Clв€’) ions that dissociate when table salt dissolves in water. Other substances that dissolve in water also lower the freezing point of the solution. The amount by which the freezing point is lowered depends only on the number of molecules dissolved, not on their chemical nature. This is an example of a colligative property. In this project, you ll investigate different substances to see how they affect the rate at which ice cubes melt. You ll test substances that dissolve in water (i.e., soluble substances), like salt and sugar, as well as substances that don t dissolve in water (i.e., insoluble substances), like sand and pepper. Which substances will speed up the melting of the ice? Terms and Concepts To do this project, you should do research that enables you to understand the following terms and concepts: Solution Solute Solvent Colligative properties Freezing point depression Phases of matter o Solid o Liquid o ... • 44. Classification and Scientific Name of Domestic Pigs The scientific name of domestic pigs is Sus scrofa domesticus, or Sus domestica, depending on whom one asks. Sus means pig , scrofa means breeding sow , and domeseticus means domesticated in Latin. Its higher taxonomic order follows so: Domain Eukarya Kingdom Animalia Phylum Chordata Class Mammalia Order Artiodactyla Family SuidaeGenus Sus Species scrofa/domestica Subspecies (only if Species is scrofa) domesticus Of the domestic pigs, there are subcategories that are not yet officially classified, but only called by their common names in regions where they are available these unofficial subspecies are selectively bred for sale to farmers and pet owners. They are bred in North America and Western Europe for pethood, and globally for livestock. The scientific classification Sus domestica was designated to pigs domesticated for a farm setting, but it also encompasses pet pigs, which are truly the same animal, but bred to be much smaller. Pet pigs are my favorite animals. They are called micro pigs , mini pigs , teacup pigs , and potbelly pigs. The pig of my interest, the domestic pet pig, can live indoors like a dog or cat, or outdoors in pig houses. In case of outdoor housing, the owner must be conscious and cautious about compensating for the potential harms of outdoor weather to suit the needs of her pig. Comfortable situation must be provided where comfortable conditions are unavailable. Cold weather below 4.5 celsius is not comfortable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
