The Current Methods Used For Extra Terrestrial Intelligence
DISCUSS THE CURRENT METHODS USED TO SEARCH FOR EXTRA TERRESTRIAL
INTELLIGENCE, SUCH AS RADIOTELESCOPES AND SPACE PROBES. GIVE YOUR
OPINION ON HOW LIKELY IT IS THAT LIFE WILL BE DISCOVERED AND GIVE EVIDENCE
TO SUPPORT YOUR ANSWER.
WHAT IS EXTRA TELESTRIAL INTELLIGENCE?
Extra terrestrial Intelligence can be abbreviated to ETI, which asks the question; Are we alone in this
universe? ETI is life discovered beyond Earth, not organisms that humans sent to space. Scientifically,
extra terrestrial life may be titled; xenobiology, exobiology or astrobiology.

This allows communication satellites to remain in the same position in relation to the ground.
Inclined orbit: An inclined satellite passes over a different part of the planet each orbit.
Polar orbit: A polar orbit passes over the north and south poles each orbit crossing various places in
the equator each orbit.
Elliptical orbit: An elliptical orbit has no specific speed or distance, it depends on the apogee (furthest
distance away) and perigee (closest to the surface).
The first artificial satellite was Sputnik 1, and satellites have continued to be launched since 1957.
Sputnik 1 was a small aluminium ball with four antennas attached, although modern ETI s have more
complex bodies they are still designed following the same basic structure. With experimentation, these
bodies have been designed to be as strong and light as possible with the same essential uses. There is a
platform named a bus inside satellites which has; antennas, solar arrays and payload instruments
attached. It also contains batteries, computers and thrusters. Satellites have large panels attached as
they have to charge themselves, these arrays can be tilted to allow for the most amount of sunlight
possible. If the satellite drifts into shade rechargeable batteries become the new power source.

Overview
What is an Independent Broker Dealer?
Broker dealers are specialized financial services companies that trade securities for their own account
or on behalf of their customers. Broker dealers are regulated under the Securities Exchange Act by the
Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), a unit of the US government. Some regulatory authority is
further delegated to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), a self regulatory
organization. Many states also regulate broker dealers under separate state securities laws known as
blue sky laws.
The IBD business model focuses on comprehensive financial planning services and unbiased
investment advice. IBD firms also share a number of other similar business characteristics. They
generally clear their securities business on a fully disclosed basis; primarily engage in the sale of
packaged products, such as mutual funds and variable insurance products; take a comprehensive
approach to their clients financial goals and objectives; and provide investment advisory services
through either affiliated registered investment adviser firms or such firms owned by their financial
advisor.

The Population Of Hidalgo County
Introduction In 2013, the population of Hidalgo County was estimated to be 815,996, an increase of
9,444 (2%) over the 2012 estimated population. The county seat is located in the City of Edinburg.
The governing body of Hidalgo County is the Commissioners Court. The Commissioners Court is
comprised of the County Judge, who serves as the presiding officer, and four Commissioners from one
of the County s four road and bridge precincts. Each member of the Commissioners Court is elected to
a four year term of office. The Commissioners Court has certain powers expressly granted by the
legislature and powers necessarily implied by such grant. One of the most important duties of the
Commissioners Court is management of the finances of the County. Among other things, it approves
the budget, determines the tax rates, approves contracts in the name of the County, determines whether
indebtedness should be authorized and issued, and appoints certain County officials. The
Commissioners Court is required to adopt a final budget by no later than the close of the calendar year.
This annual budget serves as the foundation for the County s financial planning and control. The
budget includes appropriations for the general fund, certain special revenue funds, debt service funds,
and proprietary funds. The budget is prepared by fund, function, department, and object codes.
Transfer of appropriations between departments requires the approval of Commissioners Court.

Essay about Air Pollution in Birmingham, Alabama
Air pollution continues to be a significant problem in the city of Birmingham, as it has been for
decades. No one enjoys walking the streets of Birmingham only to taste or smell the smoke and
particulates in the air, not to mention the damaging effects to one s health. Fortunately, improvements
have been made; forty years ago, residents of Birmingham could not even see the skyline due to the
immense amounts of particulates in the air, but now the skyline is visible on a daily basis. The
noticeable improvement indicates the progress that has been made over the years, but there is still
plenty of room for much needed improvement. Birmingham s air quality is among some of the worst
in the United States, but there are several feasible and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For decades, the air quality in Birmingham did not meet EPA criteria, but crossed the threshold this
year. This achievement demonstrates the prominent progress made by the industries and residents to
improve air quality.
Although much improvement has been made, there is still more to be done. Spencer states that In
2011, the American Lung Association ranked Birmingham the eight worst city in the nation for
particle pollution, or soot (An Old Cloud of Polluted Air Lifts from Birmingham s Shoulders).
Birmingham s attempts at improving air quality have been valuable, but the air in Birmingham is still
dirty when compared to other industrial cities. Pollution continues to pose an enormous threat to
residents of urban cities worldwide. In the August 2008 Monthly Update, it is stated that
approximately 800,000 deaths each year can be attributed to outdoor air pollution, making pollution
the single most harmful environmental hazard to human health in urban areas (Kallman). The fact that
pollution kills hundreds of thousands of people each year alone portrays just how dangerous living in
these conditions can be. Kallman writes about a study which proves an increase in upper respiratory
diseases, cardiovascular mortality, respiratory mortality, and low birth weights when exposed to air
pollutants (August 2008: Monthly Update). These can be very serious diseases and complications
which, when contracted, can lead to death or very serious illnesses. There

Memoirs of a Geisha Character Journal
First Entry:
Chairman Iwamura
Dear Journal,
Today I had the most peculiar encounter. This afternoon, as I was nearing the
Minamiza Theater to see the Kabuki play, Shibaraku after lunch, I met a young girl no
older than 14 dressed in maids attire and crying in an alley along the Shirakawa Stream. I
was not thinking when I approached her for I was with two business associates and a
geisha who was accompanying us but something drew me towards her. She had not yet
noticed me until I spoke something about the day and her unhappiness. When the words
left my mouth she looked up and studied me with her beautiful grey blue eyes. I felt as if I

Months ago Sayuri came to me offering to move to New York City with our son
in order to secure my daughter s marriage. At first I was quite angry until she talked me
down and explained the benefits of this major move. She would open a tea shop and have
an apartment in the city. I could always visit her and there would be no threat of my son
to my daughter s fiancé. When I eventually agreed to Sayuri s request we were very sad
to be leaving each other but we made the preparations and she soon departed. I have
visited her a few times since her move but I cannot see her often. Tomorrow will
probably be my last visit with her before I can no longer return because of old age. As I
look back on the years I looked after her and then while being her dana I must say she is a
most extraordinary woman. Not only is the startling color of her grey eyes more beautiful
than any I have ever seen but she is also a very smart woman. I will miss her and hope
that she will prosper when I am gone.
These years have taken a toll on my mind and body and I am not the man I once was but the love that
Sayuri and I share still burns on strong. Soon

Waste Collection and Management
A case study was conducted by Colon Fawcett (2006).The example from the EXNORA s waste
management scheme in south India is one more very good example.EXNORA which is an acronym
for EXcellent NOvel RAdical is an NGO which is based on the zero waste management setup, and
which is run and enhanced by the residents themselves. The study has been quoted successful widely
and various studies have been carried out regarding this. In Chennai and Hyderabad various residential
areas have attained the zero waste goal. Though the success is limited it has also led to significant
reduction of the waste from dumping and in rehabilitation of the poor. The overall reduction of the
cities is around 37% and 33%. This study shows that it just needs motivated people to successfully
setup and manage the waste collection systems which lead to overall improvement of the environment.
This effort also provided employment to the local socially deprived people. The middle class people of
chennai supported this approach. Initially it the scheme had to face problems like lack of motivation
and political support, community involvement which actually threatened the long time sustainability
of the program but later on the results were evident of its effectiveness and then the policy flourished.
It required significant amount of local resources. Another success story is about the Visakhapatnam
project which is based on on the triangular contracts between the municipality, the residents and the

A Worn Path Summary
A Worn Path(Maria Ma)
Symbolize
Now I want to talk about symbolize in the story, a worn path.
Phoenix
The name of the main character, the old Negro woman, is Phoenix. Phoenix, in the Greek Mythology,
associated with the Sun, it obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.(From
Wikipedia) Back to the story, when our main character Phoenix is on her way to the city, there are so
many difficulties that she is facing bush catches her dress, a black dog goes towards her and she fall
into the ditch, etc. To old Phoenix, it is hard to go through the path; she may fall off at any time.
However, every time after she concord a difficulty, it seems that she reborn.
2. The path
The concept path symbolizes a lot in the story. Through the path the negro woman passed, Eudora
Welty shows what the Negroes suffered when they were fighting for the equity. As a result, the path
means the path of the black liberation.
On the long road to town, Phoenix walks form the morning to the night; it is like that a human is on
his/her way of life. The road has beauty, of course, danger. If you have a clear target, you will have the
wheels of process. The walk was hard, just like what Phoenix says: Seem like there is chains about my
feet, time I get this far. Something always take a hold of me on this hill pleads I should stay.

Monomyth In The Lion King
Rebecca and Phillip Stein (2017) discuss monomyth, a hero s journey, in their book Anthropology of
Religion, Magic, and Witchcraft. In the text, they use the definition of a monomyth given by Joseph
Campbell. Campbell defines it as when A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a
region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won:
the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow
man. (Stein Stein, 2017.) According to the text, a hero s journey has three stages: the departure, the
initiation, and the return. (Stein and Stein, 2017.) The Disney movie, The Lion King, is a monomyth
movie about a young lion who abandons his role as king of the Pride lands and must come back to
save his family and his land when danger ensues. Simba is the son of Mufasa, the current king,
therefore he is the rightful heir to the throne. This is the common day world that Simba lives in. His
uncle, Scar, is filled with hatred towards both Simba and Mufasa, because he believes he deserves to
be king. He comes up with an elaborate plan to kill them both. He tricks Simba into thinking that his
father has a surprise for him, and he instructs Simba to wait inside of a canyon while he fetches his
Mufasa. Scar deliberately starts a stampede of wildebeests to try and kill Simba. Mufasa arrives to the
canyon to witness Simba clinging for his life, on a lone shrub s branch, as thousands of

The Indians who were comitted to independence were very upset. Because British taxed on all of the

Although Gandhi knows the boundaries of the Salt law, his disobedience was an act of protest against
the British rule in India. The march which took nearly a month, was around 241 miles. The march
resulted in nearly 60,000 people getting arrested and Gandhi being one of them. Gandhi spoke and led
prayers when they had arrived and were on the way down to the sea to make salt. He had planned to
work the salt flats on the beach, encrusted with crystallized sea salt at every high tide, but the police
had forestalled him by crushing the salt deposits into the mud. The protesters had not broken the law
until Gandhi reached down and grabbed a lump of salt from the edge of the sea. Thousands more did
as he did and even aster he was arrested his followers continued to pick up the salt, just as he wanted.

Abigail s Use Of Symbolism In The Crucible
Arthur Miller demonstrates how a character s obsession/fixation, can result in being manipulative
while committing a grave sin of lust towards a male character. Abigail is Proctor s past maid, who has
a love affair with him. Abigail is able to persuade Proctor into thinking, that he needs sexual desires in
his life since his wife is sick and is unable to sexual please him. Abigail states:
ABIGAIL. I know how you clutched my back behind your house and sweated like a stallion whenever
I come near! I saw your face when she put me out, and you loved me then and you do now! (Miller,
22)

Normally knowledge is found in the mind, and the experience of affection is a blend between
knowledge and emotion. However, Abigail states that the knowledge is in her heart which is a way of
her saying that her heart cannot unlearn the love John showed her. Her heart cannot simply forget.
Miller s use of symbolism also portrays the temptation of Abigail. The light in Abigail s eyes portrays
the passion she feels towards Proctor. In spite of the fact that Abigail is to be blamed for the cause of
the affair, John now anticipates that Abigail will stop having feelings towards him. Abigail shows
attraction towards John that she cannot give up her feelings towards him. Her need for affection
gleams out of her, which is symbolized by the light in her eyes. Abigail brings up her past relationship
with John, however, John treats the relationship as something that belongs in the past. Although John
might be attracted and tempted towards Abigail, he desperately tries to leave the incident behind.
Abigail, on the other hand, has no closure towards the relationship what so ever and wants John to
come back to her. Abigail either wants John to herself or else no one else can have her, this shows her
greediness for love. So she decides to accuse Elizabeth of witchcraft to get rid of her. John, on the
other hand, will not let this happen and defends Elizabeth, but his plans end up backfiring and this
leads to his downfall and then his death. Therefore the deadly sin of greed manipulates John to his
demise. Women temptation is also apparent in The Great

Summary Of The Abduction Of Europa
The painting I found at the Dallas Museum of Art is a work done by Jean Baptiste Marie Pierre. It is
entitled The Abduction of Europa , it is a depiction of an episode coming from the narrative Ovid s
Metamorphoses. In this painting, Zeus manifests himself as a bull and comes to lift Europa out of the
sea. She then ascends out of the water on the back of the bull into the heavens. This work of art comes
to life through its usage of the fundamental elements and principles of art. The usage of the lines in
this painting establishes emphasis and develops subtle nuances in the structure of the piece. The
figures above the sea: namely the cherubs and the large birdlike figure possess thinly defined lines
outlining them. The cherub in the top left corner with the string of flower petals has a long implied
line going into the distance. The wings of the birdlike figure in the sky have a horizontal line on the
left wing and a curved line on the right wing. This develops the outline and shape of the birdlike
creature. The lines that surround the clouds are curved and thinly defined as well. In the bottom, right
corner of the painting there is a man whose hand is reached out to touch the chin of the bull. The lines
of the rib cage and upper body muscles of this man are very thick. The lines on this man are much
more defined than the other people in the painting. This is meant to establish a subtle sense of struggle
with this man, while he is attempting to flee the sea. Europa s

The Problem of Media and Violence
Violence has become a serious problem in America. From Sandy Hook Elementary to the Aurora
Colorado shootings, terrorism has crept deeper into the culture. From 1982 1992 there were eight
incidences of terrorism. From 2002 2012 there have been seventeen (Geigner). The growth at which
these events are spreading is exponential. Modern terrorism did not begin until approximately the
1950s when it changed from guerrilla tactics used by a nation to the to the type common today, non
state terrorism. These assailants fight for no flag, have no rules, and will do whatever they feel like at
any given moment (Zalman). The violence these radicals produce is cataclysmic. However, instead of
being distressed by this violence, citizens latch onto the offenders. They give the assailant the fame
and popularity that he or she desires. For example, within hours of Boston Bombings, the faces of the
two assassins were broadcasted everywhere in the media, and rightly so. The police needed the help of
the public to find and capture these criminals. But constant media coverage three weeks after the event
was unnecessary. Many say that sensationalist media, not gun control is the reason for attacks of
violence. Those who terrorize the nation are held up almost as heroes. Their names are plastered on
every news station around the world. Assailants will always find ways to kill even with the extreme
control of guns. But, without the publicity and the fame, psychopaths would not need to kill innocent

The Importance Of Setting In Blood Red Horse
The setting creates challenges and opportunities for characters. For example when Ellie was left
vulnerable and when the climber in the poem Ascent has finger pain. In all different genres, setting
affects the text whether it s physical challenges or emotional challenges.
In the novel Blood Red Horse, the author, K.M Grant, uses the setting to add conflict, challenges, and
opportunities to the story. In Blood Red Horse the setting, which is in the time of the crusades, affects
the character Ellie as it leaves her defenseless. In Blood Red Horse, the author writes, I do know you
can no longer marry Gavin De Granville. This means you will be fair game for knights on the prowl

The climber has one place to go, to the top, this is an opportunity to prove everyone wrong, and smash

withstandBecauseIt is expected that you are going to lose your grip (2 7).This shows that no one
believes in him. When the author writes, it is expected (7), he implies that everyone else thinks that.

Mens Health Case Study Essay
The case study I have chosen to analyse is the Men s Health Case Study. The dilemma being faced by
Mr Kerton and the Men s Health production team is one of ensuring the success of the magazine in a
relatively young, dynamic and exciting environment in which there are no barriers to entry and new
competitors are able to enter. In this particular instance Mr. Kerton is somewhat concerned about the
entry of Maxim magazine and the possible entry of Esquire magazine into the men s lifestyle
magazine market.
Situational analysis
Men s health is international magazine started in America in 1988. Riding on the success of the
magazine in America the magazine moved into the British, Australian, Latin American, German and
Russian magazine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This left the scene ripe for a male magazine that was not controversial, and full of nudity, sex and or
violence and that catered to men on a basis not entirely comprised of nudity and sex.
In addition to this and resulting from the opening up of the country to international trends and markets
was the emergence of a more lifestyle oriented health conscious type of man. The type of man its was
hoped by the Men s Health team that would appreciate and buy into the Men s Health concept.
The decline of the girlie magazine market also resulted in advertising funding with no advertising
space, providing yet another positive aspect for the Men s Health promoters to focus on.
Consequently, the mid 1990s reflected a point when the men s health and lifestyle market was
untapped and also underdeveloped. However, the Men s Health publishers were not sure of the way
forward and the best method to use that would ensure the sustainable capture of the market. In
addition, the size, spending power and demographics of the men s, health and lifestyle magazine
market were a virtual unknown, making the launch particularly sensitive and critical. In light of this
and in order to test the market the first four issues of Men s Health were published on a bi monthly
basis. The launch of the publication exceeded all expectations on the part of the publishers and sold

Mormon Scholarship Essay
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, also known as the Mormon or LDS
church. I know it to be the only true church on the earth today, and I also know that it holds they only
true way to light, truth, and happiness. It has shaped my past, and all my future decisions will be made
through the knowledge I have and will receive as a follower of Jesus Christ and his teachings.
This statement sums up the whole focus of my life. All other priorities, concerns, and pursuits of mine
stem from or are secondary to the commandments and teachings of this church. My future is in God s
hands, my passion to follow Him, and my desire to align my will with His. Contrary to what some
may think, this doesn t mean that I shouldn t work hard and plan ahead. Instead, I believe that this is
exactly what God wants me to do, having a mindset that is open to counsel from Him.

Suburban Sitcoms In The 60 s
Suburban sitcoms coming out in the late 50 s early 60 s portrayed usually an average family with
average problems it solves by the end of the episode, most sitcoms including Leave It To Beaver
followed the same formula; two white parents, a mother, and father, and 2 3 children; every episode
followed the same steps, there s a problem, the problem is solved by the end of the episode, and a
lesson is learned by the main character. This held up perfectly in the 50 s and 60 s society, but sitcoms
needed to adapt to fit their society, as time progressed, more important issues showed up in the shows,
and as the US became more diverse so did the sitcoms. Today suburban sitcoms couldn t be more
different. As society became more diverse, more sitcoms were made to cater to the new audience. ...

Quilt Of A Country Theme
All stories have a theme. The theme will tell you what the Character or Characters learned at the end.
Sometimes a stories theme is really obvious and sometimes it is very hard to find. But the theme is
probably the most important thing in a story. And without the theme the story is probably really
boring. I have chosen three stories and will name and explain the themes of them. The first story is A
Quilt of a country and the theme of the story is that even though we may be diverse we still have one
thing in common and that is that we are all alike and are all human and should treat others the way we
would want to be treated. The second story is Once upon a time and the theme of it is that no matter
what s happening in the world you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And it is saying that with more diverse people there are probably going to be more conflict. But we
need to work past this conflict to keep as one nation that stands above all in the end. And that we
should always keep going even through the roughest of times. And that is the theme of Quilt of a
country. Once Upon a time says that when conflict is around you will want to protect yourself and
your family. But sometimes even in your own neighborhood you can be a victim of conflict. For
example the family makes all the precautions to keep them safe. But really no matter where you are
you may never be truly safe. And that not all stories that begin with: once upon a time, will have a
happily ever after. The Gettysburg address is a speech written by Abraham Lincoln after the battle at
Gettysburg. He wrote the speech to commemorate the dead and help to end slavery. The speech helped
people to realize that it is inhumane and just cruel to keep slaves. He wanted to resolve the war with
his speech and to get rid of slaves which he did eventually and unfortunately he died before he got to

The Rejection
Themes like expectations to children and parents involvement in their children s lives are dealt with in
The Rejection . Boris and Anna s life is turned upside down when their son is rejected by the best
nursery school in Manhattan. Their reaction to the rejection of Mischa is exaggerated and
overdramatized, which gives the story a humorous and ironic tone.
Boris and Anna Ivanovich are a wealthy couple, who have a son named Mischa. They are superficial
and extremely concerned about what other people think of them. Boris is gullible and believes
everything Dmitri Siminov tells him. Anna is no better and her stupidity reveals itself when she
imagines having an affair. Their life purpose is to raise Mischa to become great and extraordinary.
When this fails, they are devastated and subsequently give up on their own lives. If Mischa does not

Economic Changes In The South Essay
There were many changes to the South after a long and brutal Civil War. The most significant of these,
was the change to the overall economic system of the South. After Slavery and the cotton industry was
shattered, the South was left with figuring out how to fix a once rich land founded on slavery. The first
example of economic change in the South was in how African Americans began to support themselves
economically. Plantations in the South were virtually workerless after African Americans were
emancipated. Not only that, they were left economically in debt from the destruction caused by the
Civil War. This left the Plantation owners at a loss of ability to function and since most African
Americans didn t want to go back to work for plantation owners, the Black Codes were created. The ...

Sharecropping involved a landlord giving land for tenants to farm for a share of the crop. Tenants
rented this land and were also given supplies by their landlord such as seed, farming equipment and
fertilizer. Of course, these supplies were also rented and often the only person the tenant was allowed
to sell their crop to, was their landlord. The landlord decided what prices were available to the tenant
and how much things cost. Often crops were unpredictable and landlords were very unfair with their
prices. This would leave the tenants in debt that would carry over year after year. This, in a way, tied
the tenants to the land so that they could never leave the landlord and left them in a constant state of
crippling poverty. According to PBS.com, two thirds of all sharecroppers were white and only one
third were black. This of course has room for landlords, but this also implies that some sharecroppers
were white citizens left in complete poverty after the Civil War. Overall, the biggest changes in the
south were clearly economic and did not only affect the African American population, but the

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
A diagnostic medical sonographer who specializes in obstetric sonography is able to capture the
images of a fetus inside the mother s uterus. This type of sonography is used to monitor the growth
and development of the fetus as well as its health. Imagine seeing a parent s joyful expression towards
one another when they hear the sound of their baby s heartbeat for the first time. Or to witness their
smiles from ear to ear when they get to see their baby move and wiggle about inside the mother over
the ultrasound screen. This special moment is something that an obstetric sonographer has the pleasure
of witnessing every day. Pursuing an education is important when it comes to being successful at a
career. To become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, it is essential to graduate high school and
college, taking all the required classes that are necessary. High school classes that are most beneficial
to students wanting to become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer are classes in anatomy, physiology,
and physics (Kriegh, Chaylene). To become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, a college degree is
needed. It usually takes four to six years to complete a bachelor s or master s degree in sonography
(Hiltgen, Lisa). The first two years of college are focused on completing an associate s degree in an

Malcom X s Use Of Critical Thinking In The Critique Of...
In 1946 Malcolm Little was convicted of robbery and received a 10 year sentence in Charlestown
prison. Here he taught himself how to read and write, using materials provided by the prison s library
to aid in his education; consequently, he also learned about the racial injustices throughout history.
After 7 years, Malcolm X was granted parole and released from prison and joined the Civil Rights
Movement under the name Malcolm X. In a section of his autobiography Malcolm X argues the
importance of critical thinking in educational and research purposes. Critical thinking allows the
reader to gauge whether the information gained from a particular source can be accepted as fact,
depending on how it fits into the information given by other sources. He uses his experiences, the texts
that he used in his education, pathos arguments, and metaphor to further his point. The use of narrative
as the medium forces Malcolm X to rely heavily on the experiences he had while studying in prison to
provide support for his argument. He provides sufficient evidence on how he thinks the history of
colored society should be portrayed and this is shown with a list of texts that he has read during the
course of his prison studies. One of the texts Malcolm X describes provides strong examples of
historical events that are not mentioned in the United States. The piece Sex and Race by J.A Rogers

A Brief Note On Animal Endangerment And Vulnerability
In this essay I shall be looking at a few practitioners consisting of Illustrators, painters and film
makers; each create awareness in their own unique and distinguishable form for the subject of animal
endangerment and vulnerability. I shall also be studying which socially engaging visual practice is
most effective and why.
It is thought that scientists have discovered only 17.5 million species on this world; which seems quite
a significant amount but when also considering that it s only thought that 20% of them are estimated
to live, it seems like nothing. Unfortunately, not every single animal and organism can be protected
from such problems as deforestation, climate change, illegal wildlife trading, pollution, oil and gas
development. One example would be forests cover 31% of the land area on our planet; they produce
vital oxygen and provide homes for people and wildlife. Many of the worlds most threatened and
endangered animals live in the forests, and 1.6 million people rely on the benefits the forests offer
(World Wildlife, 2015). Animal endangerment is a subject we are all very aware of but the majority of
us fall into the sad category of not actually doing anything about it. Many groups and organisations
and committed to helping keep these animals protected; although this alone has a massive impact on
wildlife as donations not only keep animals safe but you can actually adopt and take care of one. To
protect and conserve nature sounds like it should be one of

Essay about Ideologies, Narrative, Stereotypes and Discourses
According to French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, a habitus is referring to a person s way of thinking,
acting, and behaving. A habitus is a structure that helps a person comprehend and deal with society. It
can be simply seen as a merger of society and the individual. (Wysocka, Paulina, 2013). Habitus is
both a structured structure the effect of the actions of, and our interactions with, others and a
structuring structure it suggests and constrains our future actions (Bourdieu, 1992). In other words,
habitus is both the embodiment of our social location (i.e., class, ethnicity, race, sexuality, gender,

often they present a distorted version of the world. (Croteau, David, Hoynes, William, Milan, Stefania,

The Little Mermaid By Brenda Chapman And Mark Andrews From...
In the movie Brave directed by Brenda Chapman and Mark Andrews from Pixar shared a similar
storyline as The Little Mermaid which was directed by Ron Clements and John Musker from Disney,
is that they both brought up the cultural and societal expectations on gender roles. Similarly, in
between the two movies Brave and The Little Mermaid, the director focussed on the feminine aspects
of how society perceives a women and expects females to fulfill their roles. Furthermore, the overall
message of both movies is that parents and children need to listen and try to understand each other
before the situation gets out of hand. Although, Princess Merida and Princess Ariel grew up with a
certain gender role expectations, however, they have prove society s perception of how feminine
should be perceived is wrong by showing how Ariel change for men or how Merida declare war for

In the movie Brave, Princess Merida (the daughter of the Scottish King Fergus) is very skilled in

The Importance of Information Literacy Essay
Information literacy skills are used for academic purposes, such as research papers and group

They know where to look for the answer to both the common everyday information needs and for the
answer to the more perplexing, less easily addressed, problems of life. They are familiar not just with

out that efforts to train students to be adept at attaining information through a variety of mechanisms
must be integrated, relevant, ongoing, collaborative, and applied if they are to be successful in
preparing those students for success in their academic and professional careers (Zabel ,2007).
For students to be adequately informed about the value of the university library and resources such as
the Internet in information retrieval there must be a careful collaboration between teaching staff and
library staff (Kenney, 2007). The focus in this task, of course, is preparing students not just for the

Vivaldi Solo Concerto Essay
The solo concerto was a feature piece for a solo instrument accompanied by a contrasting ensemble,
the biggest difference between the concerto grosso and the solo concerto was the contrast between the
solo and the tutti sections were even longer and much more detailed. It wasn t until the eighteenth
century that the solo concerto became popular, the most well known composer of the solo concerto
was Antonio Vivaldi. It was Vivaldi s clean melodies, expertise with solo passages and the contrast in

Vivaldi s music was innovative, flamboyant and bright. In this way he managed to embellish the
formal structure of the solo concerto. This form of concerto gave soloists a chance to show off their
virtuosity, especially violinists on the new instruments thanks to luthiers such as Stradivarius and
Guarneri. Vivaldi s solo concertos provided musicians with a much wider range of colour by using
orchestration techniques of pizzicato and muted strings and contrast which was unparalleled at the
time. He mostly followed the simple three movement structure of fast slow fast, because Vivaldi
followed this pattern closely this became a prominent template for the next three centuries of
composers. Vivaldi s four seasons concerto is arguably the most popular baroque concerto, written for
solo violin and orchestra, it is an example of programatic music, that is, music based upon a story or
music that tells a story. The four seasons is based upon a set of sonnets, no one knows exactly who
wrote them, but it is thought that Vivaldi himself may have written

The Hunt For Bullwinkle
The Hunt For Bullwinkle Are you going hunting today or not Buck ? Father had asked. In just a
minute, I am getting ready right now . Buck has been on the trail for a huge buck for nearly four years
now. The deer has earned the nickname of Bullwinkle. Trail cameras that had been set out to try and
capture this humongous beast, has only captured his picture one time...and only half of his body. It
could be seen that he was the largest buck around the place. Well I am going to the woods now, I can
feel it in my blood and bones that Bull will come out today exclaimed Buck. Buck was so excited to
go hunting more today than any other day, he knew that today would be the day. As Buck walked to
the woods, he began to move faster than he started off and was soon almost in a jog, all of his
adrenaline was pumping full steam; he realized this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As he walked up to the green field that was planted with clover and soy bean, along with some other
thrown in ingredients; corn, mustard, and collards. Buck thought It is December 24, middle of the rut,
he had better show his butt up. Buck walked over to a humongous tree and set down and positioning
himself to shoot where he thought the buck would walk. If buck is still enough he just might get a shot
of a lifetime to kill Bullwinkle. Now to settle my mind, so that I can concentrate and time will fly, but
oh my lord it is getting cold. he thought to himself. Two hours had passed by, 2 does had walked onto
the field and good sized ones to. I know I can take a shot at either of them, and it would be a lot of
meat but I need to wait . Buck sat there patiently, awaiting the arrival of Bullwinkle. Another hour has
passed and it is 6:40, about twenty minutes of daylight left, Buck was starting to get discouraged
knowing that not much time was left as well of his chance of killing the monster buck was

Deaf People Myth
The first myth that I chose would be that Deaf people cannot contribute to society. Some pieces of
literature that we have read or watched would be the civil war story, Chapter three The camera as
Printing Press, the ABC Story, as well as Hero in ASL. The Civil war story dispels this myth because
it shows the conservation of history; it takes us back in time to the civil war. This story is considered a
piece of history and a Deaf person provided it, this little piece of history will forever be passed on. I
feel that chapter three was a very important chapter throughout this unit. This chapter not only showed
the history and challenges the Deaf community had to surpass, this chapter showed how they got
through the barriers and used the printing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third myth I decided to choose was that Deaf people can t have kids. In class, we discussed
Alexander Graham bell and the major negative impact he had throughout the Deaf community. We
learned in our class discussions that Graham bell was a strongly against the Deaf community and
wanted to cure them. We also learned in class that many Deaf students got sterilized in school without
any notice. We watched the PBS Film Through Deaf eyes and saw how all Deaf people in the film
functioned throughout society like everyone else, especially on having and taking care of their
children. Another film we watched was a YouTube video called Visual Alerts, in this video, it showed,
how Deaf people knew what was going on with the use of flashing lights or vibrations. In the video it
showed how a crying baby got the mother the attention of the Deaf mother, the mother would carry a
small box that would vibrate every time the baby would

Creatures In The Deep Sea Research Paper
Have you ever wondered about the creatures that lurk in the deep sea? A few of them include zombie
worms, giant squids, and yeti crabs which are quite interesting creatures. They are similar and
different in a few categories: habitat, appearance, and diet. The habitats of each of these creatures
varies. Zombie worms live on the ocean floor, whereas the giant squid lives on continental shelves and
island slopes. The yeti crabs have an even stranger environment; hydrothermal vents in the southern
oceans. Another difference in the specimens is their appearances. The giant squid is colorful and larger
than the other two. At the surface they are reddish pink with white mottling, but deep down in the sea
they are silvery or gold depending on

smoke ventilation Essay
Smoke Ventilation
Firefighters, lately defined as heroes, have a very exciting job and do some pretty amazing things. My
main interests however, is how firefighters ventilate heat and smoke from a structure fire. What pieces
of equipment do they use? How do they use those pieces of equipment? Why ventilation is so
important and why do they take certain precautions when using their equipment?
Growing up in the woods has made my life a lot more different than an average city slicker. You see, I
have a thing about fire. It is one thing that is very interesting to me. Some things that are interesting
about fire is that it grows very fast and it is very dangerous, but that never ... Show more content on

Ventilation removes heated air, smoke and gasses and replaces those with cooler air to help fight a
fire. In more simple terms it takes out bad air and brings in good air. If a firefighter can do that then
they have the ability to enter the structure to try and fight the fire from the inside rather from the out
side. There is a lot of good things the Smoke Ventilation does which helps firefighters to gain access
into a structure.
Ventilation is one of the first things that a firefighter will do when dealing with a structure fire. It is the
beginning step to try and control a fire. There are four different kinds of ventilation, vertical,
horizontal, natural and forced. Depending on the situation firefighters determine which way they are
going to approach the structure fire. Planning the ventilation process is very important when dealing
with safety, to the best of my knowledge. Something can and may go wrong if ventilation is not
planned and coordinated correctly.
Ventilation plays a big part in strategy and tactics and is something that firefighters always consider
when they have to deal with a structure fire or any type of situation that involves smoke, heat and gas.
When ventilation is done correctly it has many advantages that help firefighters to control the
situation. The

Mary Queen Of Scots Essay
Mary, Queen of the Scots
Journal Entry #65 My cousin, the Queen of England, Elizabeth I, has had me imprisoned for the last

see how I, Mary, Queen of Scots, portray it. I have lived it, so only my Creator knows it better than I.
The only child of James V of Scotland and his French born wife Mary of Guise, I was born in
December 1542 in the Linlithgow Palace as Mary Stuart. My Father died a six days after my birth, and
then I became Mary, Queen of Scots, with my mother acting as a regent in my stead (Source 1). At just
five years of age, I was betrothed to Henry VIII s son, Edward, but my Catholic guardians were
opposed to the match, and took me too Stirling Castle, breaking the agreement(Source 1). The Scots
betrothed me to the son of Henry II, Francis, the four year old heir to the French crown, and sent me to
be raised at his courts (Source 1). I loved him with a strong sisterly affection (Source 4) and he loved
me as a brother would love a sister.
We were wed when Francis became king in 1559, briefly uniting the Scottish and French crowns, but
unfortunately he was a sickly child, and he passed away from an ear ... Show more content on

My mother was beheaded on February 8th in the year 1587 at the age of forty four. I believed that my
mother needed a better resting place, so I had her body exhumed or dug out of the ground and placed

How Did Grigori Rasputin Change Russia
Jordan
In 1903, Grigori Rasputin arrived by train in St. Petersburg, Russia. He dressed very poorly and had
an awful stench to him. However, this did not stop him from becoming friends with the monks and
bishops of the churches around St. Petersburg. News quickly spread that Rasputin was a powerful holy
man. However, he wasn t truly what he seemed. In reality, Rasputin was a lustful, manipulative man
who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted and to get rid of all those in his way. This self
proclaimed holy man was the one person who would impact the tsar and Russia so greatly that he
alone would change Russia s fate as a whole.
As mentioned in Holy Man Or Mad Monk , Rasputin easily gained allies and followers during ...

Not long after, an old monk named Feofan accompanied Rasputin back to Siberia for a visit. Being an
old friend of Rasputin, he did not expect him to act out. Feofan observed how Rasputin did not fast
like he should have, and how he would seduce many women. He later brought his observations to the
tsar and tsarina. At the same time many others began to report Rasputin s misconduct, including the
Prime Minister and Alexis s nurse. Newspapers around the city of St. Petersburg even began printing
articles on Rasputin s misbehavior. This led to the tsar and tsarina getting rid of those who opposed
Rasputin, even going as far as to ban all newspapers from making articles with even as little as the
name Rasputin in them. However, this did not stop newspapers from writing articles to spread the
word of Rasputin s misconduct. Suspicions of Rasputin began to rise. Despite all the talk of Rasputin,
Nicholas and Alexandra simply dismissed their complaints, refusing to lose their only hope in the
royal family continuing their rule of Russia. After all the commotion, Rasputin decided it would be
best to hold a pilgrimage to Palestine. He hoped that his situation with the Russian people would settle
before he returned. When he returned in 1911, tsar Nicholas requested that Rasputin help him choose a

Broker dealers are specialized financial services companies that trade securities for their own account or on behalf of their customers. Broker dealers are regulated under the Securities Exchange Act by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), a unit of the US government. Some regulatory authority is further delegated to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), a self regulatory organization. Many states also regulate broker dealers under separate state securities laws known as blue sky laws. • 7. Essay about Air Pollution in Birmingham, Alabama Air pollution continues to be a significant problem in the city of Birmingham, as it has been for decades. No one enjoys walking the streets of Birmingham only to taste or smell the smoke and particulates in the air, not to mention the damaging effects to one s health. Fortunately, improvements have been made; forty years ago, residents of Birmingham could not even see the skyline due to the immense amounts of particulates in the air, but now the skyline is visible on a daily basis. The noticeable improvement indicates the progress that has been made over the years, but there is still plenty of room for much needed improvement. For decades, the air quality in Birmingham did not meet EPA criteria, but crossed the threshold this year. This achievement demonstrates the prominent progress made by the industries and residents to improve air quality. Although much improvement has been made, there is still more to be done. Spencer states that In 2011, the American Lung Association ranked Birmingham the eight worst city in the nation for particle pollution, or soot (An Old Cloud of Polluted Air Lifts from Birmingham s Shoulders). Birmingham s attempts at improving air quality have been valuable, but the air in Birmingham is still dirty when compared to other industrial cities. Pollution continues to pose an enormous threat to residents of urban cities worldwide. In the August 2008 Monthly Update, it is stated that approximately 800,000 deaths each year can be attributed to outdoor air pollution, making pollution the single most harmful environmental hazard to human health in urban areas (Kallman). The fact that pollution kills hundreds of thousands of people each year alone portrays just how dangerous living in these conditions can be. Kallman writes about a study which proves an increase in upper respiratory diseases, cardiovascular mortality, respiratory mortality, and low birth weights when exposed to air pollutants (August 2008: Monthly Update). These can be very serious diseases and complications which, when contracted, can lead to death or very serious illnesses. There ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. Monomyth In The Lion King Rebecca and Phillip Stein (2017) discuss monomyth, a hero s journey, in their book Anthropology of Religion, Magic, and Witchcraft. In the text, they use the definition of a monomyth given by Joseph Campbell. Campbell defines it as when A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won: the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow man. (Stein Stein, 2017.) According to the text, a hero s journey has three stages: the departure, the initiation, and the return. (Stein and Stein, 2017.) The Disney movie, The Lion King, is a monomyth movie about a young lion who abandons his role as king of the Pride lands and must come back to save his family and his land when danger ensues. Simba is the son of Mufasa, the current king, therefore he is the rightful heir to the throne. This is the common day world that Simba lives in. His uncle, Scar, is filled with hatred towards both Simba and Mufasa, because he believes he deserves to be king. He comes up with an elaborate plan to kill them both. He tricks Simba into thinking that his father has a surprise for him, and he instructs Simba to wait inside of a canyon while he fetches his Mufasa. Normally knowledge is found in the mind, and the experience of affection is a blend between knowledge and emotion. However, Abigail states that the knowledge is in her heart which is a way of her saying that her heart cannot unlearn the love John showed her. Her heart cannot simply forget. Miller s use of symbolism also portrays the temptation of Abigail. The light in Abigail s eyes portrays the passion she feels towards Proctor. In spite of the fact that Abigail is to be blamed for the cause of the affair, John now anticipates that Abigail will stop having feelings towards him. Abigail shows attraction towards John that she cannot give up her feelings towards him. Her need for affection gleams out of her, which is symbolized by the light in her eyes. Abigail brings up her past relationship with John, however, John treats the relationship as something that belongs in the past. Although John might be attracted and tempted towards Abigail, he desperately tries to leave the incident behind. Abigail, on the other hand, has no closure towards the relationship what so ever and wants John to come back to her. Abigail either wants John to herself or else no one else can have her, this shows her greediness for love. So she decides to accuse Elizabeth of witchcraft to get rid of her. John, on the other hand, will not let this happen and defends Elizabeth, but his plans end up backfiring and this leads to his downfall and then his death. • 19. Summary Of The Abduction Of Europa The painting I found at the Dallas Museum of Art is a work done by Jean Baptiste Marie Pierre. It is entitled The Abduction of Europa , it is a depiction of an episode coming from the narrative Ovid s Metamorphoses. In this painting, Zeus manifests himself as a bull and comes to lift Europa out of the sea. She then ascends out of the water on the back of the bull into the heavens. This work of art comes to life through its usage of the fundamental elements and principles of art. The usage of the lines in this painting establishes emphasis and develops subtle nuances in the structure of the piece. The figures above the sea: namely the cherubs and the large birdlike figure possess thinly defined lines outlining them. The cherub in the top left corner with the string of flower petals has a long implied line going into the distance. The wings of the birdlike figure in the sky have a horizontal line on the left wing and a curved line on the right wing. This develops the outline and shape of the birdlike creature. The lines that surround the clouds are curved and thinly defined as well. In the bottom, right corner of the painting there is a man whose hand is reached out to touch the chin of the bull. The lines of the rib cage and upper body muscles of this man are very thick. The lines on this man are much more defined than the other people in the painting. This is meant to establish a subtle sense of struggle with this man, while he is attempting to flee the sea. Europa s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. The Problem of Media and Violence Violence has become a serious problem in America. From Sandy Hook Elementary to the Aurora Colorado shootings, terrorism has crept deeper into the culture. From 1982 1992 there were eight incidences of terrorism. From 2002 2012 there have been seventeen (Geigner). The growth at which these events are spreading is exponential. Modern terrorism did not begin until approximately the 1950s when it changed from guerrilla tactics used by a nation to the to the type common today, non state terrorism. These assailants fight for no flag, have no rules, and will do whatever they feel like at any given moment (Zalman). The violence these radicals produce is cataclysmic. However, instead of being distressed by this violence, citizens latch onto the offenders. They give the assailant the fame and popularity that he or she desires. For example, within hours of Boston Bombings, the faces of the two assassins were broadcasted everywhere in the media, and rightly so. The police needed the help of the public to find and capture these criminals. But constant media coverage three weeks after the event was unnecessary. Many say that sensationalist media, not gun control is the reason for attacks of violence. Those who terrorize the nation are held up almost as heroes. Their names are plastered on every news station around the world. Assailants will always find ways to kill even with the extreme control of guns. The most significant of these, was the change to the overall economic system of the South. After Slavery and the cotton industry was shattered, the South was left with figuring out how to fix a once rich land founded on slavery. The first example of economic change in the South was in how African Americans began to support themselves economically. Plantations in the South were virtually workerless after African Americans were emancipated. Not only that, they were left economically in debt from the destruction caused by the Civil War. This left the Plantation owners at a loss of ability to function and since most African Americans didn t want to go back to work for plantation owners, the Black Codes were created. The ... The landlord decided what prices were available to the tenant and how much things cost. Often crops were unpredictable and landlords were very unfair with their prices. This would leave the tenants in debt that would carry over year after year. This, in a way, tied the tenants to the land so that they could never leave the landlord and left them in a constant state of crippling poverty. Critical thinking allows the reader to gauge whether the information gained from a particular source can be accepted as fact, depending on how it fits into the information given by other sources. He uses his experiences, the texts that he used in his education, pathos arguments, and metaphor to further his point. The use of narrative as the medium forces Malcolm X to rely heavily on the experiences he had while studying in prison to provide support for his argument. He provides sufficient evidence on how he thinks the history of colored society should be portrayed and this is shown with a list of texts that he has read during the course of his prison studies. They know where to look for the answer to both the common everyday information needs and for the answer to the more perplexing, less easily addressed, problems of life. They are familiar not just with where to look but also with the tools and processes required to find those answers. Zabel (2007) points out that efforts to train students to be adept at attaining information through a variety of mechanisms must be integrated, relevant, ongoing, collaborative, and applied if they are to be successful in preparing those students for success in their academic and professional careers (Zabel ,2007). For students to be adequately informed about the value of the university library and resources such as the Internet in information retrieval there must be a careful collaboration between teaching staff and library staff (Kenney, 2007). The focus in this task, of course, is preparing students not just for the immediate research project at hand but rather to prepare them to be life long learners, to prepare them to be successful and productive once they leave the academic environment and take up their chosen careers (Lauer Yodanis, 2012). A search for information can take a variety of routes. It might entail a visit to the university library or to some other organization that maintains information on a particular subject. Academic libraries are indeed a critical tool in information ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Vivaldi Solo Concerto Essay The solo concerto was a feature piece for a solo instrument accompanied by a contrasting ensemble, the biggest difference between the concerto grosso and the solo concerto was the contrast between the solo and the tutti sections were even longer and much more detailed. It wasn t until the eighteenth century that the solo concerto became popular, the most well known composer of the solo concerto was Antonio Vivaldi. It was Vivaldi s clean melodies, expertise with solo passages and the contrast in timbre between the orchestra and solo parts that his concertos are among the most famous of all other composers. Vivaldi wrote over five hundred concertos mostly for his own instrument the violin, but also for the trumpet, cello, oboe flute and bassoon. Most of these concertos were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Vivaldi s music was innovative, flamboyant and bright. In this way he managed to embellish the formal structure of the solo concerto. This form of concerto gave soloists a chance to show off their virtuosity, especially violinists on the new instruments thanks to luthiers such as Stradivarius and Guarneri. Vivaldi s solo concertos provided musicians with a much wider range of colour by using orchestration techniques of pizzicato and muted strings and contrast which was unparalleled at the time. He mostly followed the simple three movement structure of fast slow fast, because Vivaldi followed this pattern closely this became a prominent template for the next three centuries of composers. Vivaldi s four seasons concerto is arguably the most popular baroque concerto, written for solo violin and orchestra, it is an example of programatic music, that is, music based upon a story or music that tells a story. The four seasons is based upon a set of sonnets, no one knows exactly who wrote them, but it is thought that Vivaldi himself may have written ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Buck has been on the trail for a huge buck for nearly four years now. The deer has earned the nickname of Bullwinkle. Trail cameras that had been set out to try and capture this humongous beast, has only captured his picture one time...and only half of his body. It could be seen that he was the largest buck around the place. Well I am going to the woods now, I can feel it in my blood and bones that Bull will come out today exclaimed Buck. Buck was so excited to go hunting more today than any other day, he knew that today would be the day. • 45. Deaf People Myth The first myth that I chose would be that Deaf people cannot contribute to society. Some pieces of literature that we have read or watched would be the civil war story, Chapter three The camera as Printing Press, the ABC Story, as well as Hero in ASL. The Civil war story dispels this myth because it shows the conservation of history; it takes us back in time to the civil war. This story is considered a piece of history and a Deaf person provided it, this little piece of history will forever be passed on. I feel that chapter three was a very important chapter throughout this unit. This chapter not only showed the history and challenges the Deaf community had to surpass, this chapter showed how they got through the barriers and used the printing ... In class, we discussed Alexander Graham bell and the major negative impact he had throughout the Deaf community. We learned in our class discussions that Graham bell was a strongly against the Deaf community and wanted to cure them. We also learned in class that many Deaf students got sterilized in school without any notice. We watched the PBS Film Through Deaf eyes and saw how all Deaf people in the film functioned throughout society like everyone else, especially on having and taking care of their children. Another film we watched was a YouTube video called Visual Alerts, in this video, it showed, how Deaf people knew what was going on with the use of flashing lights or vibrations. In the video it showed how a crying baby got the mother the attention of the Deaf mother, the mother would carry a small box that would vibrate every time the baby would ... • 46. Creatures In The Deep Sea Research Paper Have you ever wondered about the creatures that lurk in the deep sea? A few of them include zombie worms, giant squids, and yeti crabs which are quite interesting creatures. They are similar and different in a few categories: habitat, appearance, and diet. The habitats of each of these creatures varies. Zombie worms live on the ocean floor, whereas the giant squid lives on continental shelves and island slopes. The yeti crabs have an even stranger environment; hydrothermal vents in the southern oceans. Another difference in the specimens is their appearances. The giant squid is colorful and larger than the other two. At the surface they are reddish pink with white mottling, but deep down in the sea they are silvery or gold depending on ... • 47. smoke ventilation Essay Smoke Ventilation Firefighters, lately defined as heroes, have a very exciting job and do some pretty amazing things. My main interests however, is how firefighters ventilate heat and smoke from a structure fire. What pieces of equipment do they use? How do they use those pieces of equipment? Why ventilation is so important and why do they take certain precautions when using their equipment? Growing up in the woods has made my life a lot more different than an average city slicker. You see, I have a thing about fire. It is one thing that is very interesting to me. Some things that are interesting about fire is that it grows very fast and it is very dangerous, but that never ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ventilation removes heated air, smoke and gasses and replaces those with cooler air to help fight a fire. In more simple terms it takes out bad air and brings in good air. If a firefighter can do that then they have the ability to enter the structure to try and fight the fire from the inside rather from the out side. There is a lot of good things the Smoke Ventilation does which helps firefighters to gain access into a structure. Ventilation is one of the first things that a firefighter will do when dealing with a structure fire. It is the beginning step to try and control a fire. There are four different kinds of ventilation, vertical, horizontal, natural and forced. Depending on the situation firefighters determine which way they are going to approach the structure fire. Planning the ventilation process is very important when dealing with safety, to the best of my knowledge. Something can and may go wrong if ventilation is not planned and coordinated correctly. Ventilation plays a big part in strategy and tactics and is something that firefighters always consider when they have to deal with a structure fire or any type of situation that involves smoke, heat and gas. When ventilation is done correctly it has many advantages that help firefighters to control the situation. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At the same time many others began to report Rasputin s misconduct, including the Prime Minister and Alexis s nurse. Newspapers around the city of St. Petersburg even began printing articles on Rasputin s misbehavior. This led to the tsar and tsarina getting rid of those who opposed Rasputin, even going as far as to ban all newspapers from making articles with even as little as the name Rasputin in them. However, this did not stop newspapers from writing articles to spread the word of Rasputin s misconduct. Suspicions of Rasputin began to rise. Despite all the talk of Rasputin, Nicholas and Alexandra simply dismissed their complaints, refusing to lose their only hope in the royal family continuing their rule of Russia.
