Was Art An Expression Of Society After The Bombing In...
Identification and Evaluation of Sources:
The aim of this investigation is to explore, to what extent was art an expression of society after the
bombing in Guernica? These sources explain the causation of the bombing and how art expressed
society after the bombing. How the bombing influenced artists such as Picasso to paint one of his most
famous paintings and his emotions towards the bombing and how it made art his only weapon to fight
against the war.
Pablo Picasso s painting was painted in 1937, that painting is a highly valuable source towards the
investigation of the expression that the society had towards the bombing. This painting was created to
show the public what the civilians in the city had to go through during the war. The painting

What Is Compounding Pharmacy
What is a compounding Pharmacy? What are its benefits?
What is pharmacy compounding?
Pharmacy compounding is the practice of manufacturing personalized drugs for patients when they
may not be capable of using a commercially available medicine, or they may require a medicine,
which is currently not available or discontinued.
What exactly is Compounding Pharmacy?
A compounding Pharmacy prepares compounded drugs, according to the prescription of medical
practitioners. These drugs may be a blend of ingredients, which are included in the medicines in exact
dosage and potency according to the needs of patients.
What is the aim of a Compounding Pharmacy?
The aim of an approved compounding pharmacy is to offer premium nutritional supplements and bio
identical hormone treatments for patients in the form of capsules, tablets, lotions, and creams. These
pharmacies will prepare drugs by combining different active pharmaceutical grade constituents, as
recommended by any registered and qualified healthcare practitioner, into exact dosage and strength
forms according to the individual needs of patients. Both state and federal authorities control all
compounding pharmacies.

graduated from their pharmacy school. At present, no state needs a particular kind of training on

The Diary Of Anne Frank s Diary
The Diary of Anne Frank is a very inspirational journal that should be read by everyone, especially
students like me. Not only will many students relate to it, but also it is valuable for the heart. The diary
tells the story of World War 2, unforgettable people, and lessons that will stay in your heart forever.
The story is about a young girl named Anne Frank that was given a diary on her thirteenth birthday.
She was excited because the diary was like the best friend she never had. Anne s sister Margot is
called to Germany by the Nazi troops, which almost surely meant she was being sent to a
concentration camp. Anne and her family decide to hice in a little department in Anne s father s office,
they called it the Secret Annex. For two years,

Mockingjay Use Of Propaganda
The term propaganda is used to describe information that is usually biased or misleading used to
promote or publicize a certain view on a cause. In the Mockingjay propaganda is used to keep the
districts in line and in favor of the Capital. As the hunger games continues a new leader arose and
began to turn people and districts against the Capital creating their own propaganda. Although this is a
fictional story, the reality of propaganda rings true. The Capital and the rebellion have different ways
of communicating their propaganda. The Capital wishes to achieve the way things used to be where
the districts supplied and feared the Capital. Whereas the rebellion wants to bring the districts together
and fight against the wrong of the Capital. The Capital and the rebellion, although different strategies,
both achieve their purpose. Throughout the story of the Mockingjay the Capital used propaganda to
try to keep and gain trust from not only the districts but also within the Capital. One way the Capital
decides to do this is by using a familiar and loved face for the so to speak, face of the capital. Peeta

The Capital used a strategy that in the end was great. However, the Rebels propaganda was able to
align people in the war against one single enemy, President Snow. Propaganda is a strong force that
can easily make someone change their opinion on an issue or political standpoint. Propaganda is hard
to deal with because it makes you question who you are and what you believe. This is why it is so
important in swaying people s vote. Propaganda can be a weapon if used correctly. An example of this
is how the Rebels did all their propos making it counter the broadcast or attacks of the Capital. In the
end, propaganda is a delicate weapon that messes with peoples minds and

How Social Media Affected The Mayor Of London s Election

As shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2, it is the most used platform around the world, while Twitter is
ranked second in the world according to Alexa. In the United Kingdom, Twitter is the second most
used platform (Cosenza, 2016). The population of the United Kingdom is 64.1 million, with 89% of
UK residents being active Internet users. The total number of social media users is 38 million, with
50% of the entire population access social media platforms via mobile phones. Furthermore, there has
been a 4% growth in the number of active Internet users and a 6% growth in the number of active
social media users. In addition, the number of users who access social media platforms via their
mobile devices has increased by 7% (Think Digital First, 2016). The efficiency of Twitter as a social
media platform has been noticeable, as it remarkably affected the Mayoral election results than any
other platform, including Facebook and Instagram. By a simple feature offered by Twitter that can
enable voters to engage with the candidate through direct messaging, mentions and hashtags, Twitter
excelled in influencing the decision of the electors by real time interaction rather than just reading
about the Candidates and their activities. As described in the book Twitter and Society in 2014 by

Inclusion Of The Special Education Program
A study revealed that learning is a process that happens under observable and ideal conditions to the
extent that situations, in which students are placed purposely or otherwise, had great effects on them.
There must be collaboration together between the special education program and the regular education
to hand in hand assess the overall needs of students with learning problems to cooperatively make
efficient educational strategies to match the needs of the students (Will, 1986).
Sasartawi Abdul Jabbar (2011) stated that inclusion is defined as the process of incorporating a child

academically and emotionally. Full inclusion represents the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Though instances are rough for the Hearing Impaired in their way of communication, students with
hearing impairment are mostly attending to regular schools and are being educated in general
education set up. Children with hearing impairment obtain special education and related services
under the federal disability category of hearing impairments (Schildroth and Hotto, 1996; Gallaudet
Research Institute, 2006). The main purpose of promoting inclusion is to help individuals to be well
equipped for life, gaining ideas from the norms, enjoying a typical life experiences, helping to cope up
with the attitudes of individuals without disabilities, and withstand discrimination in the society

Narrative Essay Strength
Once I failed, but now I am showing my strengths. There was this high school I played played for
named Central Dauphin. They were called the Rams. Before I go on, I am going to fast forward to the
end of Junior year and to the beginning of my Senior year. It was a game against Carlisle Thundering
Herd. The game was cold and it was the first game of playoffs. I did not start at the time but our
starting tackle got hurt so I had been thrown in there. Now take in mind my body is ice cold and my
muscles are not stretched. I then remember getting tackled from behind and feeling some popping
noises in my ankle. I was laying there afraid my football career was over. Mind you that this was now
my second ankle injury of that year. A few teammates had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the end of the first half someone had dove into the side of knee. I had fallen over and felt the worst
pain I had ever felt in my life. I am laying there and say to myself, I will not stay down and give up on
myself. Halftime comes along and Coach Doc pulls me to the side and said, you are done for the
night. I told him to his face, I will not be taken out as this is my last year to shine. Nothing will stand
in my way. So I finish the game and come to find out I had sprained my knee bad. Once again I will
not have nothing come in front of me this year. Our biggest game of perhaps the whole year was
against the Wilson Bulldogs. This was a game I was going to war for my brothers that I love deeply.
Second play of this game I get blindsided and my knee buckles. I felt that pain but said no to it and got
right back up and played the rest of the game. I had played a great game and we had handed them their
worst loss in many years. The moral of my story is to never give up on yourself and the others around
you just because things are not going your way. If you give it some time they will eventually fall into
your hand and then it is up to you if you want to take them or

I Have A New Hobby And Interest After The Discussion With...
I have found a new hobby and interest after the discussion with my mother. Every day, since she
delivered me some resources, I spent hours reading the books and surfing around the internet, doing
my own research to ascertain the real person inside me. Many of those readings excite me so much,
need to be brought up here, the clear explanations helped me a lot to better understand every bit much
as the motivation that led me to a new form of thinking. I became certain about the man under my
skin, more than ever before. Since the earliest stage of my transition, my childhood, I was always
confused and stressed thinking about the matters, needless to say, the religious things add up the
amount of the chaos. I am contented for the new sighting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every now and then, I stole time to discuss those matters to a further analysis with my mother, in
order to be open to her, so that she could see my view, my thoughts, feelings and the real me.
Mum, to be a good son of yours is my biggest dream, I said to her when I dropped by at her office,
one afternoon after school. She smiled, just smile without uttering any word.
And to have a wonderful woman I call wife would complete me to the greatest level. Mum, I really
wanna marry Sophia, but how can I accomplish my mission when I am still trapped in this frame?
Everything feels not right, mum. You know how it s like, you observed me since the day you brought
me to join this world. I feel it so unfair... I need a woman in my life, because I am a man and because
of that reason, I don t have any feelings towards any other man. Mum, I hate to be labelled as lesbian
or butch, I want to be a real man...
There I stopped, looking deep into my mother s expression, waiting for a reconciliation. That moment
was the moment I was very sure of everything, as though I have already made the biggest decision in
my life and I have no uncertainty about it, not to the tiniest particle.
Andrey, it is too early to think about marriage, however, I completely understand how you feel. Let the
marriage topic aside, we focus on yourself instead. You are lucky to have me you know, she smiled
again as she picked up the phone, ordering

to go with him to the Senate House. In the streets on the way to the Senate House is Caesar s last
warning. Artemidorus has written him a letter telling him the names of all the conspirators. On the
way to the Senate house Artemidorus tells Caesar to read this scroll immediately and Caesar replies
What, urge you your petitions in the street? Come to the Capitol (935). Then Caesar walks off with the
rest of them just following behind.
Caesar ends up being murdered after ignoring all of the warnings. Caesar ignores all of the warnings
about not coming to the Senate House on March 15th. It ends up being the day he gets brutally
murdered. Stabbed to death by people he thought to be his friends. The conspirators are Brutus,
Cassius, Casca, Trebonius, Ligarius, Decius, Metellus, and Cinna. Julius Caesar sits in his chair like
usual and is approached by none other than one of the conspirators Metellus and he says Is there no
voice more worthy than my own, To sound more sweetly in great Caesar s ear For the repealing of my
banished brother? (937). While Metellus is asking this all of the other conspirators are getting closer
surrounding Caesar and joining in, in the asking for Publius Cimber to return. The conspirators know
that this is an outrageous thing to ask of Caesar and are just using it as a guise to get closer to Caesar

Giovanni Bellini Research Paper
Of all the artists from the European Renaissance to have come from Venice, perhaps the most
important one of them all was Giovanni Bellini. Many of his works such as The Feast of the Gods,
Agony in the Garden, and Holy Allegory have become known around the world thanks to various
museums and their exhibits. Interestingly, there is the subject of his life story overall. Regarding this,
Philip Hendy wrote in one article for Encyclopedia Britannica, Giovanni Bellini, (born c. 1430, Venice
[Italy] died 1516, Venice), Italian painter who, in his work, reflects the increasing interest of the
Venetian artistic milieu in the stylistic innovations and concerns of the Renaissance (Hendy). Hendy

how, The main word here is light . Four hundred years prior to Impressionism, the Venetian painters
were keenly interested in the relationship between light and color . . . Additionally, the Venetian
painters had a distinct method of brushwork. It s rather smooth, and makes for a velvety surface
texture (Esaak). In other words, Venetian Renaissance art tends to have contrasting relationships
between lighting and color in order to create a certain mood or emphasize a certain detail, and that the
colors faded into each other, thus creating smooth transitions with almost outlines around shapes. In
Giovanni Bellini s Crucifixion, the sunlight is particularly shined on Jesus, which is juxtaposed by the
green grass below him. Plus, the colors smoothly transition to each other, thus leaving any shape
outlines almost invisible. Furthermore, the natural world was a prevalent theme in not just Venetian
Renaissance art, but the Renaissance as a whole. Jessie Szalay once wrote for Livescience, Both
classical and Renaissance art focused on human beauty and nature (Szalay). In Bellini s Crucifixion,
the aforementioned grass has a bright, green color to it, and has a highly detailed

Differences Between The And The Islamic World
From deep within the mountains of Central Asia, a group of nomads arose who would one day rule
over half of the Islamic world. Though the tribes separated, all three of the greatest empires to grace
the Islamic world began with Turkic roots. Over the years they developed into distinct cultures of their
own, with unique religious interpretations and ideas of leadership. Each founding emperor had a
different claim to leadership. The Ottomans of Anatolia relied on their military success, especially the
unlikely victory against the Byzantines. The Safavids of Iran relied on religion to legitimate their rule.
Specifically, their eclectic mixture of Sufism and Shi ism and their position as Sufi pirs (spiritual
masters). The Mughals of South Asia depended upon their standing as the descendants of the great
Timurid dynasty.
All three empires had Turkic origins. Additionally, the ruling classes of all three empires were literate
in Persian. All three empires appreciated Persian language histories and poetry and Sufi poetry.
Despite these similarities, each empire had distinct tribal origins and dialects. Owing to the cultural
importance of Persian in the Islamic world, the Ottoman dialect was a mixture of Turkish and Persian.
The Ottomans were speakers of Oghuz Turkish who descended from Oghuz Khan. The Safavids were
Aq Quyunlu Turks who spoke Azeri Turkish, and the Mughals were speakers of Changatai Turkish
who descended from Timur Khan.

used by young adults are debit cards will not allow you to mismanage, overspend or go into debt. The
most common explanation for credit card debt for people under the age of 25. Demographic and credit
trends show that young people, and in particular students, may be the next segment of credit users that
will face difficult financial times. In the United States, there are 19.1 million students who are
attending colleges and universities (US Department of Education 2009). They account for
approximately 6% of a population of 308 million people (US Census Bureau 2011). On average,
students possess 4.6 credit cards (SallieMae 2009). They also owe more on their credit cards than they
did just a few years ago; in 2004, students owed, on average, $2,900 on credit cards whereas in 2009
this figure soared by 78% to $4,100 (SallieMae 2009). Moreover, young consumers account for the
second largest rate of bankruptcy in the United States (Sullivan, Thorne, and Warren 2001). Together,
these figures suggest that young adult consumers in America spend more with their credit cards than
they should. In addition, research shows that credit card debt is associated with financial stress (Grable
and Joo 2006) as well as poor academic achievement (Pinto, Parente, and Palmer 2001). The desire to
use credit as a form of payment but with no steady income available to repay the credit line. For

The Effects Of Domestic Violence On The United States Of...
The title of this feature film that I will be providing an analysis on is titled Enough. The production
company is Columbia Pictures and this film was made in 2002. Enough was filmed in the United
States of America and directed by Michael Apted. Director Michael Apted was born in England and he
is best known for his films for The World Is Not Enough, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the
Dawn Treader, and the film this analysis will focus on entitled Enough. The film Enough is relevant to
society because it exemplifies how spousal abuse and abuse against women is prevalent concern in
society. This issue of domestic abuse can range from sexual assault to murder. This is a very serious
concern that not only women, but men as well may face in society. Domestic violence can distress any
type of person regardless of their religion, ethnicity, age, or socio economic status. Violence of this
sort is also relevant to society because it impacts more than just simply the victim; it tends to be a
cycle that may transfer to children whom may repeat the cycle or may enter abusive relationships
themselves. Society is impacted from this because it carries on into many social services or agencies
such as police courts, schools, hospitals, etc. I think the director made this film to give some sort of
insight into violence against women, specifically spousal abuse. I think Michael Apted also made this
film to raise awareness and allow viewers to realize that it is important to get

The Czech Republic As We Know It
The current Czech Republic as we know it, was established in January of 1993 when Czechoslovakia
split into two independent countries. The peaceful separation created the Czech Republic and an
independent Slovakia. The history the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the once Czechoslovakia is rich
and full of turmoil.
History
The indigenous population of Czechoslovakia were the Slavic tribes. These tribes were made up of
West Slavs tribes who were the Poles, the Czechs and the Slovaks. The East Slavs tribes consisted of
Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusian s. The South Slavs tribes consisted of Bulgarians, Croats,
Macedonians Serbs and Slovenians. In 550 BC the Slavs began settling in the eastern Alps and by 800
BC Christianity was spreading across the Slovene lands. In 962 the Holy Roman Empire was
established and in 1085 Vrastislav II became the first Czech king which started the Premyslid dynasty.
The Premyslid dynasty ended with the death of King Wenceslas III in 1306. In 1414 Jan Hus, an
outspoken Czech, started speaking out against the corruption in the Catholic Church. Jan would
conduct sermons in Czech so the regular citizens could understand the message. Unfortunately Jan
was to outspoken and was burnt at the stake one year later in the year 1415. The Hussite Wars
commenced in 1420 and carried on for fourteen years and concluded in 1434. In 1458 the Hussites

Night Mail Movie Analysis
This research paper is an analysis of the form and content of the Documentary Film Night Mail (1936)
directed by Harry Watt and Basil Wright, written by W.H. Auden, narrated by John Grierson, and
Music by Benjamin Britten. I will also go over the reaction by critics and others to the film when it
first appeared. An oversimplification of this movie is to say it is about normal people doing their job,
which would be picking up and delivering mail overnight. Beneath what would seem to most people
as a normal job from today s standards, is that the film dives into what it was like for the working
class at the General Post Office. This documentary shows us the pride that was once had in the
industry of postal service, which has become simplified with technology such as drone deliverer and
air/sea travel. During the 1930 s few people understood what it took for mail to be delivered on time,
countless people had to work many late hours into the night, so our letters could be received in a
timely fashion. Night Mail shows us the technology and steps by which it took many people working
together. We will never forget the old Britain that once was because of films like this. Let us start with
one of the main subjects of this documentary which would be the train involved and the route taken.

Black Men And The American Civil Liberties Union
According to to the American Civil Liberties Union, California s research shows that black men are
three times more likely to be stopped and frisked than whites. (Quigley) Some may say that this topic
is based on nothing but opinions. That is not true. There are facts behind the accusations made by so
many people accusing law enforcement agents of being racist. The job of law enforcement is to serve
and protect the people, showing no bias towards any specific race, but this is not always the case.
While many think this is a perfect world where there is no racism, the reality is that everywhere in the

obvious example of bias against black men is to incarcerate black men in jail for longer periods of

someone will get harmed in the middle of this racial discrimination. (Quigley)

Brands, the world s face of everyday products not complete thought American Eagle , Forever 21,
Nike we crave name brands that show society we make enough money to afford those trendy,
fashionable items. Yet, these are the very companies that create an appalling byproduct: unethical
manufacturing. Unethical manufacturing, in other words the immoral treatment of workers through
use of child labor, low wages, and large corporations are intent on reaping the poor labor pool of third
world countries. The already depleted resources these countries have is being stripped away by brands.
When companies look for labor they seek the cheapest, most efficient means of making their product.
Many brands start out with American manufacturers and move production overseas in an effort to
lower cost and increase profit. While overseas hiring may subsequently lower production cost, it
subjects those countries working class citizens to the high demands of western companies. We are all
familiar with the Walmart slogan Everyday low prices ; Walmart among other companies strives to
keep prices low to succeed in competitive capitalist markets. It is that competition between
companies, in and effort to meet consumer demands, that eventually leads to overseas hiring and in
turn unethical manufacturing. Anna McMullen from CNN describes why unethical and unsafe
working conditions arise. As the demand for cheap clothing grows in the west, brands continue to look
for ways to race to the

Being John Malkovich
The movie Being John Malkovich, revolves around the dysfunctional life of an unhappy married
couple and the absurd changes that take place in their lives, upon the discovery of a portal leading into
John Malkovich s subconscious mind. It follows an unemployed puppeteer, Craig Schwartz, on his
quest to gain the recognition he desires. Craig Schwartz acquires a job as a file clerk for Lester Corp,
located on the 7 1/2th floor. It is there that he discovers a secret door with a portal behind a filing
cabinet. This portal transports whoever enters it into John Malkovich s head, enabling one to
experience Malkovich s life through his eyes, or as Schwartz likes to put it, in his shoes (literally).

This greed and infatuation with wanting more, contradicts the concept of empathy that we as humans
share for one another. Schwartz who had once seemed envious of the chimpanzee s lack of empathy,
had become apathetic himself. A flashback showing the chimpanzee as a baby being taken away from
its captured parents, explains why it had been diagnosed with post traumatic stress earlier. This is an
underlying point in the movie, as it humanizes the primate and animalizes the humans. Craig was
prepared to change his life and consequently change John Malkovich s life, in order to secure Maxine
s affection. Even if that sacrifice meant that he not only had to leave his wife, but also his own
physical body.
Being inside did something to me, I knew who I was .
Lotte Schwartz describes her vivid experience in Malkovich s subconscious as feeling right , stating
that she had never felt that way before. A woman feeling right as a man is taboo and an extremely
controversial topic, especially when we consider the fact that she s a married woman. Yet Lotte
expresses this with full certainty when she comes to the conclusion that she s a transsexual. We begin
to see her in a different light, one opposite to how she was initially introduced. She becomes more
assertive and confident, unlike the caring and timid wife she was. By screaming out in Malkovich s
sub conscious, she was able to convince him to meet with Maxine for the first

Impact Of The Job Design On Retail Banking
Introduction As a financial service provider, the banking industry employs an abundance of
standardized processes. In order to deliver a professional, accurate and fast service to customers, as
well as to maintain the motivation and performance of banking staff, it is critical to design a smooth
and friendly process for various types of service requests, or in other words, to allocate the tasks to
appropriate positions. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the impacts on performance resulting
from the job design in retail banking so as to demonstrate the ability of the author to apply the
operations management concept into real life. When companies plan to reengineer or redesign the job,
they could use the Job Characteristic Model (JCM), which was developed by Richard Hackman and
Greg Oldham. The basic idea of the model is that task itself can drive the motivation and performance
of employees (Saavedra Kwun, 2000, p. 132). There are five core job characteristics, including skill
variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy and feedback, which influence psychological states
of meaningfulness of job, responsibility for outcomes and knowledge of the actual results (Slack,
Brandon Jones Johnston, 2013, p. 264). Eventually, the above mentioned psychological states will
result in four aspects of personal outcomes, including motivation, quality performance, satisfaction as
well as absenteeism and turnover (Slack et al., 2013, p. 264). However, the theory does not

Diagnostic Criteria For ASD
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that is characterised by
impairments in social communication, repetitive or stereotypical behaviours, and limited range of
interests (Anagnoustou et al. 2014). These symptoms are often evident from early childhood and vary
between individuals in their severity and influence on everyday functioning. This continuum of
symptoms of ASD is reflected in the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders (DSM 5), a revision from previous diagnostic criteria in the DSM IV, which identified four
separate disorders in association with autism related symptoms (DSM5, 2013). Another important

Greatest Scene Excalibur
Greatest Scenes A Critical Analysis of Excalibur Excalibur is a very interesting story with many great
scenes. In Excalibur, three of the best scenes are, when Arthur draws the sword from the rock, when
the knights of the round table accuse the Queen of having an affair with Lancelot, and when Arthur
fights his son, Mordred. The first scene that interested me is when Arthur draws the sword from the
rock. This one was fascinating to me because many other of the strongest Knights tried and could not
do it. Out of everyone it ended up being Arthur who could draw it. He did it very effortlessly and it
made everyone wonder how. At this time he found out that his real dad was a king and that made

The Negative Effects Of Family And Family Homelessness
Family and child homelessness has been a major social problem within the United states since the
1980s (Bassuk). According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, it is a
problem that affected 79,446 family households in January 2010, and over 1.5 million children
between the years of 2005 and 2006. Family and child homelessness is a genuine issue that although
has increased to 37% of the overall homeless, and is said to have reached an historic high (Bassuk), it
has not been discussed or addressed. Homelessness affects every one in 30 children in the U.S, which

In fact, Ashley De Marcus of the Tennessee Research and Creative Exchange stated that homeless
students opposed to students who are not homeless are twice as likely to repeat a grade. Homeless
high school students also show a similar trend of lowered skills in math and reading. According to
Carolyn Shields and Erica Mohan, only 11.4% proficient in math and 14.6% of homeless high school
students are proficient in reading. This is a 20.8% and 16.3% difference in students who have homes
who are 32.2% proficient in math and 30.9% proficient in reading. As you can see, the skills level of
math and reading for homeless students continues to get worse. Stronger even confirmed this in his
1992 study of homeless students. Stronger found that homeless students were scoring a year under
their grade level and the deficit had increase up to three years as they got older. As we can see, this is
still a true statement as the skill levels from elementary and high school has decreased significantly.
The problem of mental disorders is a major one among homeless families. However, the mental health
of homeless children has been less systematically researched, and almost all the available data is based
on research studies of children in homeless shelters in the USA (Bushra 1996). Various terms, such as
behavioral problems/difficulties, psychosocial maladjustment or mental health disorders, are often

Book Report On The Tipping Point By Malcolm Gladwell
The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell examines the phenomenon of the tipping point: that magic
moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire, as
put into words by the book s author. Gladwell packed his book full of interesting studies that further
explain the concept of the tipping point. In my opinion, The Tipping Point is a very captivating book.
Through reading The Tipping Point, I gained insight into what the tipping point is. I learned the three
rules of the tipping point : the Law of the Few , the Stickiness Factor , and the Power of Context . In
the law of the few, Malcolm Gladwell states that there are certain people who contribute to the start of
tipping points who he calls Connectors , Mavens , and Salesmen. Together these three personality
types spread ideas, products, and behaviors throughout the world. I love learning about people and
found these concepts fascinating. Gladwell s other rules of the tipping point, the stickiness factor and

Norse People Research Paper
The Norse people were a very complex group who were portrayed as savages and killers, but instead
were an advanced group, skilled workers and very democratic and this can be seen through their gods,
goddesses, and rituals. Could it be that the way that people describe a civilization for so long change
the way that people see them? Throughout history the Norse people have been portrayed poorly while
in reality they are not completely the way that they are described to be. Not only are they polytheism,
believing in multiple gods, but they act very much like their gods. Life in the ancient times was
different than we know it today. It was much more difficult trying to get a hold of daily resources. The
Vikings houses mostly consist of wood as they were surrounded by trees. Not only did they trade, but
they also farmed on their land. They ate twice a day once in the morning, and once at night. They
raided nearby town for supplies that they needed and along the way they would capture others to turn
them into their slaves. Although they did raid they never had many slaves. It was once reported that
there was up to 25,000 Vikings living in Iceland in the mid 900 s. The Norse did not have books, but
they did have an alphabet, so they passed on history by stories and poems. Their alphabet was made

The Pregnancy Outreach And Birth Mothers

in crisis, such as those experiencing unplanned pregnancies. Their main mission is to help woman find
alternate solutions to unplanned pregnancies that do not result in abortion.
Each week women gather at Christian Chapel, a church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to meet with mentors to

  • 11. Giovanni Bellini Research Paper Of all the artists from the European Renaissance to have come from Venice, perhaps the most important one of them all was Giovanni Bellini. In other words, Venetian Renaissance art tends to have contrasting relationships between lighting and color in order to create a certain mood or emphasize a certain detail, and that the colors faded into each other, thus creating smooth transitions with almost outlines around shapes. In Giovanni Bellini s Crucifixion, the sunlight is particularly shined on Jesus, which is juxtaposed by the green grass below him. Though the tribes separated, all three of the greatest empires to grace the Islamic world began with Turkic roots. Over the years they developed into distinct cultures of their own, with unique religious interpretations and ideas of leadership. Each founding emperor had a different claim to leadership. The Ottomans of Anatolia relied on their military success, especially the unlikely victory against the Byzantines. The Safavids of Iran relied on religion to legitimate their rule. Specifically, their eclectic mixture of Sufism and Shi ism and their position as Sufi pirs (spiritual masters). The Mughals of South Asia depended upon their standing as the descendants of the great Timurid dynasty. All three empires had Turkic origins. Additionally, the ruling classes of all three empires were literate in Persian. All three empires appreciated Persian language histories and poetry and Sufi poetry. Despite these similarities, each empire had distinct tribal origins and dialects. Owing to the cultural importance of Persian in the Islamic world, the Ottoman dialect was a mixture of Turkish and Persian. The Ottomans were speakers of Oghuz Turkish who descended from Oghuz Khan. The most common explanation for credit card debt for people under the age of 25. Demographic and credit trends show that young people, and in particular students, may be the next segment of credit users that will face difficult financial times. In the United States, there are 19.1 million students who are attending colleges and universities (US Department of Education 2009). They account for approximately 6% of a population of 308 million people (US Census Bureau 2011). On average, students possess 4.6 credit cards (SallieMae 2009). They also owe more on their credit cards than they did just a few years ago; in 2004, students owed, on average, $2,900 on credit cards whereas in 2009 this figure soared by 78% to $4,100 (SallieMae 2009). Moreover, young consumers account for the second largest rate of bankruptcy in the United States (Sullivan, Thorne, and Warren 2001). Together, these figures suggest that young adult consumers in America spend more with their credit cards than they should. In addition, research shows that credit card debt is associated with financial stress (Grable and Joo 2006) as well as poor academic achievement (Pinto, Parente, and Palmer 2001). Director Michael Apted was born in England and he is best known for his films for The World Is Not Enough, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and the film this analysis will focus on entitled Enough. The film Enough is relevant to society because it exemplifies how spousal abuse and abuse against women is prevalent concern in society. This issue of domestic abuse can range from sexual assault to murder. This is a very serious concern that not only women, but men as well may face in society. Domestic violence can distress any type of person regardless of their religion, ethnicity, age, or socio economic status. Violence of this sort is also relevant to society because it impacts more than just simply the victim; it tends to be a cycle that may transfer to children whom may repeat the cycle or may enter abusive relationships themselves. Society is impacted from this because it carries on into many social services or agencies such as police courts, schools, hospitals, etc. I think the director made this film to give some sort of insight into violence against women, specifically spousal abuse. An oversimplification of this movie is to say it is about normal people doing their job, which would be picking up and delivering mail overnight. Beneath what would seem to most people as a normal job from today s standards, is that the film dives into what it was like for the working class at the General Post Office. This documentary shows us the pride that was once had in the industry of postal service, which has become simplified with technology such as drone deliverer and air/sea travel. During the 1930 s few people understood what it took for mail to be delivered on time, countless people had to work many late hours into the night, so our letters could be received in a timely fashion. Night Mail shows us the technology and steps by which it took many people working together. We will never forget the old Britain that once was because of films like this. In order to deliver a professional, accurate and fast service to customers, as well as to maintain the motivation and performance of banking staff, it is critical to design a smooth and friendly process for various types of service requests, or in other words, to allocate the tasks to appropriate positions. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the impacts on performance resulting from the job design in retail banking so as to demonstrate the ability of the author to apply the operations management concept into real life. When companies plan to reengineer or redesign the job, they could use the Job Characteristic Model (JCM), which was developed by Richard Hackman and Greg Oldham. The basic idea of the model is that task itself can drive the motivation and performance of employees (Saavedra Kwun, 2000, p. 132). There are five core job characteristics, including skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy and feedback, which influence psychological states of meaningfulness of job, responsibility for outcomes and knowledge of the actual results (Slack, Brandon Jones Johnston, 2013, p. 264). • 26. Diagnostic Criteria For ASD Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that is characterised by impairments in social communication, repetitive or stereotypical behaviours, and limited range of interests (Anagnoustou et al. 2014). These symptoms are often evident from early childhood and vary between individuals in their severity and influence on everyday functioning. This continuum of symptoms of ASD is reflected in the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM 5), a revision from previous diagnostic criteria in the DSM IV, which identified four separate disorders in association with autism related symptoms (DSM5, 2013). One such proposed intervention currently in progress is the Early Start Denver Model (Dawson Rogers, 2008) that aims to address the distinctive requirements of children with ASD from as early as 12 months. The program utilises a combination of an ABA approach along with a developmental and relationship based approach that is then delivered in the child s natural environment. A recent randomised controlled trial of the Early Start Denver Model in a sample of 48 children aged 18 30 months in age revealed that children showed improvements in IQ and adaptive skills (Brookman Frazee, 2010). In Excalibur, three of the best scenes are, when Arthur draws the sword from the rock, when the knights of the round table accuse the Queen of having an affair with Lancelot, and when Arthur fights his son, Mordred. The first scene that interested me is when Arthur draws the sword from the rock. This one was fascinating to me because many other of the strongest Knights tried and could not do it. Out of everyone it ended up being Arthur who could draw it. He did it very effortlessly and it made everyone wonder how. Book Report On The Tipping Point By Malcolm Gladwell The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell examines the phenomenon of the tipping point: that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire, as put into words by the book s author. Gladwell packed his book full of interesting studies that further explain the concept of the tipping point. In my opinion, The Tipping Point is a very captivating book. Through reading The Tipping Point, I gained insight into what the tipping point is. I learned the three rules of the tipping point : the Law of the Few , the Stickiness Factor , and the Power of Context . In the law of the few, Malcolm Gladwell states that there are certain people who contribute to the start of tipping points who he calls Connectors , Mavens , and Salesmen. • 32. Norse People Research Paper The Norse people were a very complex group who were portrayed as savages and killers, but instead were an advanced group, skilled workers and very democratic and this can be seen through their gods, goddesses, and rituals. Could it be that the way that people describe a civilization for so long change the way that people see them? Throughout history the Norse people have been portrayed poorly while in reality they are not completely the way that they are described to be. Not only are they polytheism, believing in multiple gods, but they act very much like their gods. Life in the ancient times was different than we know it today. It was much more difficult trying to get a hold of daily resources. The Vikings houses mostly consist of wood as they were surrounded by trees. Not only did they trade, but they also farmed on their land. They ate twice a day once in the morning, and once at night. They raided nearby town for supplies that they needed and along the way they would capture others to turn them into their slaves. Although they did raid they never had many slaves. It was once reported that there was up to 25,000 Vikings living in Iceland in the mid 900 s.
