Absences
A student who leaves before 10:00 a.m. will be counted absent for that day. Students who leave or
arrive after 10:00 a.m. but before 1:00 p.m. will be counted present one half day. Students leaving
after 1:00 p.m. will be counted present for the day.
Excused Absences
In case of absence, the parent must write a dated note to the teacher explaining the reason for the
absence. This note must be sent the day a student returns to school. There are no excused absences
except for student illness, serious illness or death in the immediate family, emergency (medical or
dental) and absences approved in advance. Religious outings, college visitation, job interviews,
special trips, etc. fall under this category. NOTE: Junior and Senior students may miss no more than

The Importance Of Outreach In America
Midway between the summer before last, I had the opportunity to take a trip not as a vacation, but
rather a missionary outreach. Before this chance I had never exactly been given a chance to travel to
somewhere very different from my residence in Lincoln, Nebraska. This outreach was held at the
YWAM(youth with a mission) Los Angeles, California chapter. When it had been announced that the

As we arrived at the base we were divided into cabins male and female. Several moments later I was
introduced to our Cabin father, Erick. Erick works in the missions field year round, because of this, he
was given a cabin to call home for as long as he lives in L.A.
Once I got close enough to Erick I instantly concluded that he was a surfer. The man s long, shaggy,

between the child and the masked character represent different perspectives on ow to view the world.

The uselessness of Wealth
Treasure Island is the story of a voyage in which the pirates tend to get rich. Many of the pirates on the
boat were very poor. The treasure was a motive for them throughout the whole book. The pirates and
crew desired wealth and were extremely greedy. The theme of uselessness of wealth is one that
constantly reappears throughout the whole book. Stevenson portraits this when the pirates constantly

In reading through Management Basics for Information Professionals by Evans and Ward, one of the
theories of management that stood out to me was the administrative approach (2007). Henry Fayol
was one of the main proponents of this approach, though there were many others as well. Fayol

Another of Fayol s principles had to do with authority and responsibility. In the department of the
main stacks, there was a staff librarian who acted as our manager, as well as a group of students that
performed supervisory tasks. In my last year or so in the library I joined this group, and was given the
task of doing some of the day to day tasks that kept our department running. These included opening
and closing procedures, keeping statistics of the work done by students, assigning hourly jobs,

Film Autuerism Auteurism is a term first coined by Francois Truffaut to describe the mark of a film
director on his films. A director can be considered an auteur if about five of his film depict a certain
style that is definitely his own. In other words, much like one can look at a painting and tell if it is a
Monet, a Renoir, or a Degas, if a film director is an auteur, one can look at his film and tell by style
and recurring themes that it was made by a certain director. In auteur films, the director is many times

In all of the films, the husband and wife have difficulty communicating with each other. One scene in
City of Women visually shows this with multiple barriers: physical (a column and doorway), spatial
(the characters are on opposite sides of the screen) and social (a crown with turned backs). In Juliet of
the Spirits, Julieta is the superwife. She plays all of the above stated roles, and also it is apparent that
she has her own interior life. This is shown by the use of mirrors and reflections within reflections.
The final character archetype that I noticed in Fellini s films is the macho man. This is probably best
illustrated in the harem sequence in 8 1/2. In this the main character imagines himself as the master of
all women he has ever desired, real or fantasized. In City of Women the doctor is the idealized male
stereotype who now has to deal with women s increasing independence. I do not think that this
character was as effective, however, in showing this archetype as much as the harem sequence did. In
La Strada the male character is kept a prisoner by these male virtues he cannot communicate his own
feelings.
Fellini definitely has many trademarks, but I chose these to write about because they are the least
remarked upon. But, surely when one watches any Fellini film, there is a definite look and feel to the
movie, making Fellini a true auteur.

tension between ideal vs. reality. In a perfect world the marriage promise between Arveragus and
Dorigen sets the tone for the rest of the tale by means of marital equality but in reality no good comes
from it. Although The Franklin s Tale is arguably the most equal out of all the Marriage Groups, its
repetition of acts of magnanimity overpowers that equality and turns it into a kind of competition. The
foundation of marriage between them is decided together and creates this method of balanced
responsibility that is almost ideal but realistically unable to occur due to inherent gender and social
expectations. The Franklin s final question regarding who the most free at the end of the tale is very
debatable because of the different types of free in Middle English. The Franklin zero s in on that
question for only the men and leaves out an important character. Because Dorigen and Arveragus both
agreed to the terms of their marriage contract, it seems unfair to leave out Dorigen s impact she has on
the overall theme of free ness. So given that each character in this tale is in chain of promised service
to another, the ambiguity of the final question proposed by the Franklin complicates the ability to

Examples of this are having sex with children who are not of age, touching children inappropriately,
who are not of age and child pornography. This is the most severe philia in my opinion and it holds
great consequences. One can be charged with numerous CSC charges, spend life on the sex offenders
list, go to prison for many years, or even be killed because they are a pedophile. Today, there are
roughly 400,000 registered sex offenders in the united states (80 100,000 are unregistered). And 89%
of child sexual assault cases involve people known to the child. My opinion is that these people need
to be locked up for max sentences according to the law, not life in prison as some would want. These
people commit horrible crimes to young children and need to pay for the physical and emotional

The most disturbing of them all would have to be Necrophilia. This is the sexual attraction to dead
human bodies. Things like touching and having sex with the bodies of the deceased are examples.
There are only a dozen or so documented cases; However, it happens more than we would think.
Having intercoarse with dead human bodies is a crime in most countries and the punishment in the
United States is a felony serving no more than five years in prison. My opinion of this paraphilia is
that it takes a very, very sick mind to have intercourse with the remains of a human, it s disrespectful
