The Role Of Eors In Plato s Symposium
In Plato s Symposium, the great radical thinkers of Greece gather around and talk about passion and
Eros before their participating in their own mischievous acts themselves. Phaedrus great speech about
Eors will be evaluated connecting the ties between Eros, passion, and lovers.
The speech of Phaedrus is saying that the God of love is great. For the God is held in honor as eldest
among them, said he. An indication that Eros has no parents, nor does anyone, layman, or poet, claim
he does (118).The God of Eros is so great and omnipotent that he did not need any parents to conceive
him, he produced himself unto the thought process of the mankind himself. Being eldest, he is cause
to us of greatest goods. For I cannot say what good is greater, from youth on, than a worthy lover, and
for a lover a worthy beloved (118). They are saying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For those who intend to live beautifully must be led through the life of the whole life by what neither
city nor private person can do great and beautiful deeds (118). Phaedrus is talking about how love and
doing great things are needed for this symbiotic relationship. He also goes on to say how the beloved
affects the man s thinking when he does shameful acts. I then say that a man in love, if discovered
doing something shameful, or suffering it from another and failing cowardice to defend himself,
would not be pained so pained at being seen by his father or friends or anyone else as by his beloved.
(118) Eros is so profound and cunning that it when doing amoral acts that he does not feel as much
humiliation and lament for when his beloved gazes upon his eyes in horror. The lover seeing his
beloved s face would feel much remorse because he has wronged his true love. Essentially, the lover is
infected by the beloved beauty because women in ancient Greece were dainty, graceful, beautiful, and

Real World Survival Essay
Prepping and Surviving In Today s World: The Real World
Episode six is coming soon, but for the time being we thought we would let our survival expert
contemplate their next move. Some may say the show is slow and boring, no drama, no scandals, and
no excitement and it even lacks any close encounters with death, well for the time being anyway.
We could throw in a bear scene, or a near accident involving a slippery rock and a fast moving river,
or a rattlesnake could be coiled up in your shelter seeking a respite from the hot sun, and of course, it
is not spotted until it is almost too late. We may have to watch a few reruns of Dual Survival to get
some ideas on how to spice up our real survival show, starring you and you only.

You know it s possible, but can you do it and do you need to know how to start a fire this way.
You are already thinking what if I get caught without matches, a lighter, a Ferro rod, or magnesium
stick or even without a magnifying glass. Well, if you leave the house without any of the tried and true
methods of starting a fire, why would you leave with an orange? You probably won t find an orange
out in the middle of the woods, but anything is possible, but you have to deal with the most likely,
however.
One of the biggest problems you would face if you became lost is that you have never been lost
before. You simply do not know how to act because you have no historical reference, no template if
you will to review. You will panic, and you will run in circles, and you will drank contaminated water
and you will eat all of what food you have one hour after realizing you are lost.
You will sweat more than you need to, thus causing you to become even thirstier and oops, all of your
water is gone so you will sweat even more, and so, in a matter of hour s dehydration is a real threat.
You will do all of this

Holocaust And Nannk Analysis
The Annihilation of a Nation: Holocaust Vs Rape and Nanking
In the span of six weeks 300,000 to 600,000 civilians of Nanjing, China were murdered and/or raped(
The rape of Nanking 1937 1938 1). The Holocaust had 9 million victims. There are many similarities
and differences between the Holocaust and Rape and Nanjing. Both the Holocaust and Rape and
Nanking are genocides. A genocide is the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those
of a particular ethnic group or nation.
What are the similarities and differences between the two genocides? The Holocaust started on
January 30th of 1933 and lasted till May 8th of 1945. The Holocaust took place in mostly Germany
but Europe, Poland, and Austria had their place too. Hitler blamed the Jews for the great depression
causing the hatred of their race and religion. While the Holocaust took place, another genocide quickly
took place. On December 13th, 1937 the Rape and Nanjing took place in Nanjing, China and ended in
6 weeks( The Tokyo judgement and the rape of nanking 1). 300,000 to 600,000 civilians were victims
to the genocide( Wars of memory 1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Harmony Between Hunting And Conservation
The Harmony Between Hunting and Conservation In 2014, professional hunter Corey Knowlton,
placed a bid of $350,000 for the chance to go on a hunting trip in Namibia. On this trip Knowlton had
the chance to hunt and kill the black rhino, an extremely endangered species. This hunt and the ideas
that have been used to justify it have started a heated debate on the subject. Animal conservationists,
who support the ethical side of the argument, don t understand the desire to kill a beautiful animal for
sport. They believe that to sell the rights to the unnatural slaughter of an innocent animal for a trophy
sends the wrong message. It seems contradictory and unethical especially in the name of conservation.
Conservation by definition is the act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hunting and poaching is mainly responsible for the initial decrease in the population of black rhinos
specifically. Currently, there are approximately 5,000 black rhinos left in the wild today, and 2,000 of
them live in Namibia (Lavandera, 2015). With such a small population size black rhinos and rhinos in
general are on the brink of extinction. Aldo Leopold s land ethic theory simply pushes the boundaries
of the community to include soils, waters, plants, and animals, or collectively: the land (Leopold,
1948). He believes in giving animals value as that is the only way people can be ethical towards it
(Leopold, 1948). Conservationists use this theory to support their argument that it is unethical to bring
about death and suffering to an animal for the good of the species in the long run. Richard Leaky, head
of the Kenya Wildlife Service, states that conservation hunting sends a negative message that it s okay
to hunt these animals and kill endangered species and decreases their value (Melvin, 2015). However,
they re there are so many other ways we can increase conservation efforts, the best way being,
exposure to the wonders of wildlife and nature starting at a young age (Melvin, 2015). This would
increase the animals value and make more people understand and practice the ideas behind the land
ethic theory. Not to mention classic conservationists question the contradictory notion that killing an
animal this way is an effort to save the animal from

Taking a Closer Look at the Aztec Civilization Essays
The Aztecs were a very warlike people, but were very influential to our civilization. They lived in
present day Mexico about 800 years ago. At first, they were a mostly nomadic civilization and that
lasted about 100 years. Then they developed the first, and capital, city, Tenochtitlán. They developed
many new types of government, religion, culture, technology, economy, and geography, as well as the
calendar and new mathematical techniques. The Aztecs were skilled writers, builders, artists, and
craftsmen. They wrote in pictures, built towering temples for worship, and made beautiful jewelry and
pottery. Government was set up in a similar way to ours. Their was an emperor, like our president, a

Yet the rich wore clothes made of cotton and long robes. The rich had shoes, while the ordinary people

had turquoise jewelry, a true luxury then. The food the Aztecs ate was not very much. They had sweet
corn tortillas, vegetables, occasionally meat, and most of their food was spicy. If you could afford it,
you drank hot chocolate, but most drank water and cactus beer. Cactus beer was called pulqué.
Entertainment consisted of many games like our. They played one game called Tlachtli, like
basketball. The object was to hit a rubber ball through a stone ring, but you could only use your hips,
elbows, and knees. Another game was called Patolli, like backgammon, they used dried beans as dice
and colored stones as counters. Art was themed in the Aztec Empire. Most art depicted insects, birds,
animals, and fish. It was very lifelike and showed age and expression. It was almost always about
death, either reflecting the passion to avoid it or the desire to conquer it. The Aztecs had many
advances in technology, like weaponry, shelter, structures, and transportation. They had many
weapons. One was called the Maquahitl, and it was like a sword. There were 2 varieties and they were
very strong. They also used clubs, 7+ foot long spears! lances, bows and arrows, and slings. Another

How Does Shakespeare Use Language In Hamlet
Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift. As meditation or the thoughts of love,May sweep to

first time that Hamlet decides that his father s death can not go unpunished. He vows that his Uncle
Claudius or step father will pay for poisoning and killing his father and marrying his mother so
quickly. However, being part of the royal family makes him prone to negative and stressful situations
and thus his engagement with words to level in which he is almost crippled is absolutely tragic, even if
it is not because of anything he had overtly done (Smith, 2016). His exchanges with Ophelia are just
one example of his use of language to lead ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, it is not simply his reaction to his mother that drives that their relationship, but his
skillful use of words and language. At one point, Hamlet recognizes his power with words and tells the
audience, as if recognizing this to be. Unfortunately, Hamlet s use of language does not always benefit
him in this play by Shakespeare. Due to his brooding and introspective nature, he often wrangles with
language to help him understand a reality where he has little control. Hamlet s famous to be or not to
be soliloquy questions the righteousness of life over death in moral terms and discusses the many
possible reasons for either living or dying.is tragic flaw I will speak daggers to her, but use none
(Shakespeare,1603, p.366). Overall, the power of language in Hamlet by William Shakespeare has had
a direct impact on the tragic outcome of the play. The tragic ending was simply the culmination of the
poison in the ear and destructive use of language and thinking that follows. For Hamlet, the immense
power of language cannot be ignored. Furthermore, it is apparent that the reality, both for the reader
and the central characters, is mutable and susceptible to the influence of manipulative words. Words
from different characters could act as daggers, both on the reader as well as the

Long Day s Journey into Night by Eugene O Neill is a complicated story. It shows a day in the life of
a dysfunctional family. This family is made up of four extremely different personalities. Tyrone is the
sympathetic father. Mary is the morphine addicted mother. Jamie is the difficult older son and Edmond
is the sick younger son. Everyone in this family has their strengths and weaknesses. In Tyrone s case
his strengths and the weight of his family s weakness makes him the most sympathetic. Jamie is the
opposite. His flaws weigh more than his family s strengths. The typical reader can easily find Tyrone
as the most sympathetic and Jamie as the least sympathetic.

education, and all you did was get fired in disgrace from every college you went to! (1619). This
conversation shows that Tyrone has tried to give Jamie the opportunity to do something that makes
him happy. Tyrone has paid for Jamie to go to not just one but multiple colleges. In return to this
opportunity Jamie quit every single one of them. As a last resort for his son to still be successful in
life, Tyrone has used his sphere of influence in the theater world to get him various roles. All Tyrone
gets in response to this help is distain. Jamie tells Tyrone that he hates acting. Jamie blames his father
for his acting career instead of thanking Tyrone for giving him some sort of career. Jamie is not the
only ungrateful member of Tyrone s family. When Mary returns home a few months before the play
takes place, Tyrone has a car waiting for her. Tyrone does not even like cars. He would prefer to walk
but Tyrone believes that a car would allow Mary to get away from the house and get some fresh air
(1641). When Tyrone suggests that Mary take a drive she says You shouldn t have bought a
secondhand automobile (1642). Mary is disappointed in Tyrone because the car is second hand. She
feels that it is humiliating to be driven around in a secondhand car (1642). Mary is the only one who

The Nature of Humans in Lord of the Flies by William Golding
The nature of human: are humans born good or evil? These two opposing views on human nature are
two topics that Rousseau and Golding have both touched upon. While Golding believes that humans
are born inherently evil, Rousseau believes the opposite: that humans are inherently good. Golding
wrote the novel Lord of the Flies as a response of the novel, The Coral Island by R.M. Ballantyne
because he believed that it was far fetched. In this novel Ballantyne s main characters are able to enjoy
their time on the deserted island. My opinion on this matter leans to Rousseau s side. I believe that
people are born naturally good. Jean Jacques Rousseau was born in Geneva in 1712 and died in 1778
in France. While Golding lived through the two World Wars, Rousseau never lived through such
conflict. A topic of Rousseau s that always came up is about how humans can keep their freedom
despite their dependence on one another. He believed that there were two things that had something to
do with this topic and that was a human s material and psychological need and that the latter was more
important. Rousseau believed that humans get their sense of self due to opinion of others. Rousseau
believes that humans are inherently born good and that and that it is society s corruption that causes
humans to be evil. William Golding was born in 1911 in Cornwall, England and died in 1993. William
Golding was born only three years before the start of World War I. Golding lived through both World

The Little White Bird By J. M. A Brief
J. M. Barrie wrote about a typical boy based loosely on the Llewellyn Davies family. Barrie could not
have known how the world would change when he introduced Peter Pan in 1902 s The Little White
Bird or that Peter Pan would be adapted over and over one hundred years later. He could not have
imagined the psychiatric term for men the Peter Pan Syndrome being a phenomenon. Barrie simply
told a story by using characters and life events and creating a children s story of fantasy. Peter Pan was
not traditional in the sense that it tapped into the child at the heart of every human young and old.
Barrie was a visionary as well as a writer as he saw brilliance in tragedy and wrote about what human
desires to remain youthful and act from an untainted point of view without restrictions. He supplied
the child and adult with fantastic escapades of fear and violence, escape from responsibility and shows
death as only one more adventure. Barrie met the Llewellyn Davies boys Barrie while he was running
away from all his own losses, perhaps he just wanted to keep running and take them all with him.

Changes In Juvenile Crimes
In 2012 a ten year old boy in Southern California murdered his friend with a kitchen knife by
repeatedly stabbing the friend in the chest. The suspect was said to have anger issues and a mental
illness that he was medicated for. The boy, charged with felony assault and murder, was tried in a
Juvenile Court and later sentenced to juvenile rehabilitation. Depending on the crime and age of a
defendant, the Juvenile Justice System decides whether or not to put the case in the hands of the
Juvenile Court and try them as children. Due to the defendant s unusual young age he was tried as a
child,. Often times fifteen, sixteen, or seventeen year olds are tried as adults, when they should not be.
The underlying assumptions about juveniles is that they are not developmentally able to be treated as
adults, and that they can be put through rehabilitation programs and change for the better. Whereas
adults are thought as not being able to change their ways, so locking them up is a more suitable

Protestant Reformation Research Paper
Reformation
In the first half of the sixteenth century Western Europe experienced a wide range of social, artistic,
political changes as the result of a conflict within the Catholic church. This conflict is called the
Protestant Reformation, and the Catholic response to it is called the Counter Reformation.
The Reformation began when Martin Luther posted his Ninety Five theses against the indulgences of
the Church. These indulgences included if you did a good dead, this reduced the amount of
punishment which you deserved for your bad deeds, and which God would make you suffer after your
death before letting you into Heaven. Giving money to the Church was considered a good dead. If you

On his way home he disappeared. What had started as a furious attempt to reform the church overnight
turned into a project of building a new church independent of the Catholic Church.
While Germany struggled under the political and religious consequences of Luther s reform
movement, the movement itself quickly spilled out of the German borders into neighboring
Switzerland. At the time, Switzerland was not a single country but a confederacy of thirteen city states
called cantons. When Luther s ideas began to pour over the border, several of the cantons broke from
the Catholic church and became Protestant while other cantons remained firmly Catholic. Of the
cantons that adopted Luther s new movement, the most important and powerful was the city state of
Zurich under the leadership of Ulrich Zwingli. He was popular in Zurich for his opposition to Swiss
mercenary service in foreign wars and his attacks on indulgences; he was, as significant a player in the
critique of indulgences as Luther himself.
Zwingli rose through the ranks of the Catholic Church until he was appointed People s Priest in 1519,
the most powerful ecclesiastical position in the city. In 1523, the city officially adopted Zwingli s
central ecclesiastical reforms and became the first Protestant state outside of Germany. From there the
Protestant revolution would sweep across the map of Switzerland. Zwingli s theology and morality

different stories about one particular theme. In these selections both authors are writing history.
Wideman is writing the history of his brother s life, and Limerick is writing the history of the old west.
Although the theme is the same, the two authors styles, methods, and writing concerns differ greatly.
In the following passage from Our Time , John is visiting his brother, Robby, in prison. While

If I don t speak I have no past. Except the nothing, the emptiness. My brother s memories are not
mine, so I have to break into the silence with my own version of the past. My words. My whistling in
the dark. His story freeing me, because it forces me to tell my own. (Wideman p. 739)
The variance between John and Robby s stories brings Wideman to the decision to write the selection
as both of the brothers recollections.
As Limerick tells the story of the old west, she explains, One skill essential to the writing of Western
American history is a capacity to deal with multiple points of view (Limerick p. 504). She explains
this through many stories, including the stories of Narcissa Whitman, the missionary sent to save the
Indian tribes, and Julia Bulette, a prostitute. Both were murdered. Narcissa by the Indian tribe she was
working with, and Julia by John Milleain of Virginia City. The Indians were looked upon as beasts,
and Milleain was praised by the respectable women of Virginia City. In perspective, and in Limericks
opinion, the Indians may not have been to blame, due to the fact that they were merely protecting
themselves from the diseases brought on by Narcissa that had already killed every infected tribe
member. Not to forget Julia Bulette s favored death just because her profession was not morally
accepted. These are the views referred to by Limerick that are often skipped over in stories

Life, Growth, And Separation
Personally Relating to Themes
I can personally relate to the theme for Salvation. Although I do believe that Jesus is real, I have
experienced a loss of my childlike innocence and faith in the belief that everything my elders tell me
is the truth. For example, I am sure that most of us grew up with stories of Santa Claus, the Easter
Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy, among others. As a child, I believed that these people were real. However,
as I grew up I began to realize that these were just stories that our parents told us to make us behave.
Additionally, I can relate to the theme of life, growth, and separation. At my age, I have had numerous
human experiences that have added meaning to my life and made me see myself as an adult. Plus, I
have experienced the separation of myself from my parents which has helped me to form my own
beliefs and become my own person. I think that the intended purposes of this story and its theme are to
persuade the audience to belief in these ideas, and for entertainment. I can also personally relate to the
theme for Who Will Burn Incense When Mothers Gone? . I have already addressed how I can relate to
the theme of separation and growth. In addition, I have experienced a sense of loss of tradition in my
family as I have grown older. As a child, I can clearly remember many traditions my family took part
in. For instance, we put our Christmas tree up every year on my mother s birthday because it was a
few weeks before the

Should Uk Policy Be Concerned About Unemployment
Should UK policy makers be concerned about unemployment persistence and hysteresis given the
increase in the unemployment rate since the start of the recession in 2008? Unemployment is
measured by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) who conduct a Labour Force Survey (LFS)
and through the Claimant Count. The Claimant Count measures those who are claiming Job Seekers
Allowance whilst the LFS is a sample survey which is used for the official figures in the UK as this
allows comparisons internationally. Through these measures, it is then possible to identify the
unemployment rate, which is defined as the number of unemployed expressed as a percentage of the
labour force . (Sloman 2005 p. 787) Since the 2008 recession, the unemployment rate has reached a
high of 8.5% in the period Sep Nov 2011; however, the current level is 6.0% for the period June Aug
2014. (ONS, 2014). Appendix 1 depicts the fluctuations in the unemployment rate from 2007 before
the recession began to August 2014. This highlights the way in which unemployment rose and then
has remained at a constantly high rate until the UK started to experience falls in unemployment
around the end of 2013. The unemployment rate is now is at its lowest level since records began over
40 years ago . (Gov.uk 2014) There are several types of unemployment such as frictional, structural,
demand deficient, seasonal, technological, real wage and the non accelerating rate of unemployment.

Comparing Kubrick s Film And Burgess Essay
A difference and slight similarity between Kubrick s Film and Burgess novella is the narration. In
both, Alex is the narrator and uses Nadsat vocabulary to describe his acts of violence, however, the
film narrative is perceived as less powerful as the novella. In the book, Alex s narration accentuates
his cruelty, pleasure, and lack of remorse. His pleasure is highlighted in the book displaying his dark
thoughts, making the novella A Clockwork Orange appear to be a more grotesque piece in language
than the film. This is evident in an act of violence, the raping of two ten year old girls. In the film,
Alex has what appears to be consensual sex with two women around or a few youngers than himself,
that the met in a record store. In the novel, he meets two ten year old girls instead and purchases them
some food in addition. He then convinces them to come with him where they become intoxicated and
he rapes them. Alex in the novella narrates the aftermath,
They looked like they had been in some big bitva, as indeed they had, and were all bruised and pouty.
Well, if they would not go to school they would still have their education. And education they had had.
They were creeching and going ow ow ow as they put their platties on, and they were like
punchipunching me with their teeny fists as I lay there dirty and nagoy and fair shagged and fagged on
the bed. (36)
Whereas the film, nothing but the scene of Alex and the two young women having sex is shown.

What Were the Causes and Consequences of the Scientific...
The Scientific Revolution was an important time in history, but it was by no means sudden. The
catalyst of the Revolution were a while in the making with writings and philosophies from Ancient
Greece and Rome inspiring people and was a long process of gradual of upheaval, up until the
Enlightenment. This essay will examine the various, but not inexhaustible, causes that may have
contributed to the Scientific Revolution; the teaching and philosophies of Aristotle, Ptolemy and
Descartes, The Renaissance, Humanism, the decay of the Catholic Church, the influential theories of
Copernicus and Kepler followed by the idea of Scientism. To finish, the essay will discuss some of the

The teachings of the scientists of the time inspired a new cult to emerge that believed in the scientific
method of proving the physical world. This was, in my opinion, the final catalyst in the formation of
the Scientific Revolution. Scientism was The belief that science and the scientific method can explain
everything in the universe and that no other form on inquiry is valid.
The causes outlined and discussed above are by no means exhaustive and definite. They were,
however, important to the birth of the Scientific Revolution.
Secondly, the consequences of the Scientific Revolution were not felt immediately, nor were they felt
by the society as a whole. The Revolution, in its early stages, affected only the class of gentleman that
could either afford to learn about the sciences or the upper class noblemen. The common, and
majority, of the people did not feel the full effect of the Revolution until much later. Martin Luther
instigated the Protestant Revolution, which was felt through all classes and pay scales of Europeans.
The Protestant s break from the Catholic Church in the 1500 s created an even bigger vacuum that was
quickly and eagerly filled with more scientific reformers. This continued to gradually erode at the
physical Catholic Church. With its doctrine of absolute faith in jeopardy, the church reacted against
the Protestants and the Revolution.

The Cloud Storage Is Not A Safe Service
Abstract
The research seeks to elucidate whether people should have an expectation of privacy with regard to
electronic storage, i.e. cloud storage. The background of the problem under consideration is a scandal
with American celebrities whose nude pictures were illegally stolen and published online on autumn
2014. In fact, they were stolen from the celebrities iPhones through iCloud service. A big scandal not
only revealed a private life of famous US people, but also disclosed vulnerability of Apple s products
and incompetency of their computer engineers.
The evidence gathered in this research reveal that soon after iCloud was presented by Steve Jobs to the
users, several experts of computing companies and Institute of Technologies have investigated the
cloud service and tested its operational options, security and vulnerability. Their independent research
reports have the common idea: cloud storage is not a safe service yet. Many of its options should be
improved. iCloud is not advisable service to use as it stores all private information online from the
devices even they are locked. The process of information backup occurs in a way users do not notice.
The fact that three years later after the introduction of iCloud the service has been hacked means that
even the best experts cannot control cloud storage and users cannot have an expectation of privacy
with regard to cloud storage.

The transmission of power without wires is not a theory or a mere possibility, it is now a reality. The
electrical energy can be economically transmitted without wires to any terrestrial distance, many
researchers have established in numerous observations, experiments and measurements, qualitative
and quantitative [5 9]. These have demonstrated that it is practicable to distribute power from a central
plant in unlimited amounts, with a loss not exceeding a small fraction of one per cent, in the
transmission, even to the greatest distance, twelve thousand miles to the opposite end of the globe.
This seemingly impossible feat can now be readily performed by electrical researchers familiar with
the design and construction of my high potential magnifying transmitter, There were three popular
theories present in the literature of the late 1800 s and early 1900 s. They were:
1. Transmission through or along the Earth,
2. Propagation as a result of terrestrial resonances,

Decisions are made every day, however some come naturally and subconsciously to us, while others
can be extremely difficult. There are constantly outside influences which effect our decision making,
whether they are concerns about what others will think, or information and opinions that have been
given have changed someone s thoughts. It is difficult for people to go against the grain especially
when everyone s opinions are not what you believe. In the film 12 Angry Men, we see how people s
backgrounds and pasts influence their decision making, when twelve Jurors are responsible for

he is called out about being racist, ignored by the other jurors, and told that he has to be unbiased in

He is quick to correct the facts when others are incorrect. Juror twelve is influenced by rational

Myth And Archetype In Le Guin s The Nether
According to Le Guin s Myth is an expression of one of the several ways the human being,
body/psyche, perceives, understands, and relates to the world (Le Guin 69). Generally, this sentence
assumes that myth and science are similar because they are both created by an individual s
understanding ability. Le Guin concludes that it is impossible to replace a myth since humans are more
likely to believe something rather than fully understand it. The play The Nether which is written by
Jennifer Haley is somehow connecting to Le Guin s work. From her virtual world, she leads viewers
to think about some ethical issues that difficult to solve. The play s setting is based on the near future,
an era when people exist as avatars so they are able to engage in any experience or occasion
(Margolies 185). The content of myth and Archetype can be used to analyze Haley s virtual world. The

Oddly, the sexual violation of the girl attracted a lot of viewer s attention. Oppositely, in the real world

back to reality, even though viewers remained in the virtual existence. The depiction of immorality in
the Hideaway confers the theoretical text that creatures portrayed in myths or science fiction can be
accepted gradually from the society (LeGuin 76). For the argument, both the audience and Morris
keep questioning themselves whether the performances being done meet the moral standards of the
society or not. Another aspect is how Haley precisely develops archetypes, she catches the audiences
mindset to the virtual existence and leaves them with numerous ethical questions while going back to

An Analysis of Woolworths Australia Digital Marketing Strategy Analyzing the Business Decision
Woolworths Limited is an Australian retail company. Judging by market share and sales, Woolworths
is the largest food and liquor retailer in Australia. The first store was opened on Friday, 5 December
1924, and today Woolworths operates 1000 stores around Australia. Perishable Pundit (2013) writes
that from the beginning, Woolworths used daily newspapers to advertise. In 1937 they decided to use
the relatively new medium of radio sponsoring an evening program called Rhythm Round up on
Station 2GB, Sydney. (p. 5). Woolworths is credited with giving Jack Davey his first major break in
radio. In 2012, Woolworths won the Online Retail Industry Award (ORIA). Grant O Brien, Managing
Director and CEO of Woolworths is quoted as saying: We are on the cusp of exciting change in retail
as we enter the new era where the customer is in charge. But far from being daunted by change, I
firmly believe it brings opportunity for our business, our employees, our suppliers and of course, our
customers. You just have to look for that opportunity. Woolworths is leading this shopping revolution
in Australia and there s a lot more opportunity still to be realised. What does this mean? 2 years later,

Censorship on the Internet Essay
Censorship on the Internet
Five years after the first world wide web was launched at the end of 1991, The
Internet has become very popular in the United States. Although President
Clinton already signed the 1996 Telecommunication ActI on Thursday Feb 8, 1996, the censorship
issue on the net still remains unresolved. In fact, censorship in cyberspace is unconscionable and
impossible. Trying to censor the Internet its problematic because the net is an international issue, there
is no standard for judging materials, and censorship is an abridgment of democratic spirit.
Firstly, censorship on the Internet is an international issue. The Internet was constructed by the U.S.
military since 1960s, but no one actually owns it. Thus, the Internet ... Show more content on

Why do people still argue about that?
It is all about personal points of views. Justice Douglas said, To many the
Song of Solomon is obscene. I do not think we, the judges, were ever given the constitutional power to
make definitions of obscenity. II. In cyberspace, it is hard to set up a pool of judges to censor what
could be displayed on the net.
Thirdly, censorship works against democratic spirit, it opposes the right of free speech and is a breach
of the First Amendment. Do you remember Salman
Rushdie and his book The Satanic Verses? Iranian government announced a death threat to kill
Rushdie and his publishers because his book speaks against Islam.
No one wants that to happen again. If you are one of the Internet users, you should have seen a blue
ribbon logo. The blue ribbon symbolizes a support for the essential human right of free speech. Let
think about what happen if we lost the right of free speech. How can we stay online? Who gives
courage to the web s designers to put their opinion on the net? On the same day when the 1996
Telecommunication Act signed in law, a bill called House Bill 1630 was introduced by Georgia House
of Representatives member Don Parsons. It is so repel that this law even limits the right of choosing
email addressesIII.
Freedom of speech on the Internet deserves the same protection as freedom of the press, freedom of

The Role Of Eors In Plato s Symposium In Plato s Symposium, the great radical thinkers of Greece gather around and talk about passion and Eros before their participating in their own mischievous acts themselves. Phaedrus great speech about Eors will be evaluated connecting the ties between Eros, passion, and lovers. The speech of Phaedrus is saying that the God of love is great. For the God is held in honor as eldest among them, said he. An indication that Eros has no parents, nor does anyone, layman, or poet, claim he does (118).The God of Eros is so great and omnipotent that he did not need any parents to conceive him, he produced himself unto the thought process of the mankind himself. For those who intend to live beautifully must be led through the life of the whole life by what neither city nor private person can do great and beautiful deeds (118). I then say that a man in love, if discovered doing something shameful, or suffering it from another and failing cowardice to defend himself, would not be pained so pained at being seen by his father or friends or anyone else as by his beloved. (118) Eros is so profound and cunning that it when doing amoral acts that he does not feel as much humiliation and lament for when his beloved gazes upon his eyes in horror. Real World Survival Essay Prepping and Surviving In Today s World: The Real World Episode six is coming soon, but for the time being we thought we would let our survival expert contemplate their next move. Some may say the show is slow and boring, no drama, no scandals, and no excitement and it even lacks any close encounters with death, well for the time being anyway. We could throw in a bear scene, or a near accident involving a slippery rock and a fast moving river, or a rattlesnake could be coiled up in your shelter seeking a respite from the hot sun, and of course, it is not spotted until it is almost too late. We may have to watch a few reruns of Dual Survival to get some ideas on how to spice up our real survival show, starring you and you only. Becoming lost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You probably won t find an orange out in the middle of the woods, but anything is possible, but you have to deal with the most likely, however. One of the biggest problems you would face if you became lost is that you have never been lost before. You simply do not know how to act because you have no historical reference, no template if you will to review. You will panic, and you will run in circles, and you will drank contaminated water and you will eat all of what food you have one hour after realizing you are lost. • 6. The Harmony Between Hunting And Conservation The Harmony Between Hunting and Conservation In 2014, professional hunter Corey Knowlton, placed a bid of $350,000 for the chance to go on a hunting trip in Namibia. On this trip Knowlton had the chance to hunt and kill the black rhino, an extremely endangered species. This hunt and the ideas that have been used to justify it have started a heated debate on the subject. Animal conservationists, who support the ethical side of the argument, don t understand the desire to kill a beautiful animal for sport. They believe that to sell the rights to the unnatural slaughter of an innocent animal for a trophy sends the wrong message. It seems contradictory and unethical especially in the name of conservation. Conservation by definition is the act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hunting and poaching is mainly responsible for the initial decrease in the population of black rhinos specifically. Currently, there are approximately 5,000 black rhinos left in the wild today, and 2,000 of them live in Namibia (Lavandera, 2015). With such a small population size black rhinos and rhinos in general are on the brink of extinction. Aldo Leopold s land ethic theory simply pushes the boundaries of the community to include soils, waters, plants, and animals, or collectively: the land (Leopold, 1948). He believes in giving animals value as that is the only way people can be ethical towards it (Leopold, 1948). Conservationists use this theory to support their argument that it is unethical to bring about death and suffering to an animal for the good of the species in the long run. Richard Leaky, head of the Kenya Wildlife Service, states that conservation hunting sends a negative message that it s okay to hunt these animals and kill endangered species and decreases their value (Melvin, 2015). However, they re there are so many other ways we can increase conservation efforts, the best way being, exposure to the wonders of wildlife and nature starting at a young age (Melvin, 2015). This would increase the animals value and make more people understand and practice the ideas behind the land ethic theory. Not to mention classic conservationists question the contradictory notion that killing an animal this way is an effort to save the animal from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, being part of the royal family makes him prone to negative and stressful situations and thus his engagement with words to level in which he is almost crippled is absolutely tragic, even if it is not because of anything he had overtly done (Smith, 2016). At one point, Hamlet recognizes his power with words and tells the audience, as if recognizing this to be. Unfortunately, Hamlet s use of language does not always benefit him in this play by Shakespeare. Due to his brooding and introspective nature, he often wrangles with language to help him understand a reality where he has little control. Hamlet s famous to be or not to be soliloquy questions the righteousness of life over death in moral terms and discusses the many possible reasons for either living or dying.is tragic flaw I will speak daggers to her, but use none (Shakespeare,1603, p.366). Overall, the power of language in Hamlet by William Shakespeare has had a direct impact on the tragic outcome of the play. The tragic ending was simply the culmination of the poison in the ear and destructive use of language and thinking that follows. For Hamlet, the immense power of language cannot be ignored. • 11. The Nature of Humans in Lord of the Flies by William Golding The nature of human: are humans born good or evil? These two opposing views on human nature are two topics that Rousseau and Golding have both touched upon. While Golding believes that humans are born inherently evil, Rousseau believes the opposite: that humans are inherently good. Golding wrote the novel Lord of the Flies as a response of the novel, The Coral Island by R.M. Ballantyne because he believed that it was far fetched. In this novel Ballantyne s main characters are able to enjoy their time on the deserted island. My opinion on this matter leans to Rousseau s side. I believe that people are born naturally good. Jean Jacques Rousseau was born in Geneva in 1712 and died in 1778 in France. While Golding lived through the two World Wars, Rousseau never lived through such conflict. A topic of Rousseau s that always came up is about how humans can keep their freedom despite their dependence on one another. He believed that there were two things that had something to do with this topic and that was a human s material and psychological need and that the latter was more important. Rousseau believed that humans get their sense of self due to opinion of others. Rousseau believes that humans are inherently born good and that and that it is society s corruption that causes humans to be evil. Peter Pan was not traditional in the sense that it tapped into the child at the heart of every human young and old. Barrie was a visionary as well as a writer as he saw brilliance in tragedy and wrote about what human desires to remain youthful and act from an untainted point of view without restrictions. What had started as a furious attempt to reform the church overnight turned into a project of building a new church independent of the Catholic Church. While Germany struggled under the political and religious consequences of Luther s reform movement, the movement itself quickly spilled out of the German borders into neighboring Switzerland. At the time, Switzerland was not a single country but a confederacy of thirteen city states called cantons. When Luther s ideas began to pour over the border, several of the cantons broke from the Catholic church and became Protestant while other cantons remained firmly Catholic. Of the cantons that adopted Luther s new movement, the most important and powerful was the city state of Zurich under the leadership of Ulrich Zwingli. He was popular in Zurich for his opposition to Swiss mercenary service in foreign wars and his attacks on indulgences; he was, as significant a player in the critique of indulgences as Luther himself. Zwingli rose through the ranks of the Catholic Church until he was appointed People s Priest in 1519, the most powerful ecclesiastical position in the city. (Wideman p. 739) The variance between John and Robby s stories brings Wideman to the decision to write the selection as both of the brothers recollections. As Limerick tells the story of the old west, she explains, One skill essential to the writing of Western American history is a capacity to deal with multiple points of view (Limerick p. 504). She explains this through many stories, including the stories of Narcissa Whitman, the missionary sent to save the Indian tribes, and Julia Bulette, a prostitute. Both were murdered. Narcissa by the Indian tribe she was working with, and Julia by John Milleain of Virginia City. The Indians were looked upon as beasts, and Milleain was praised by the respectable women of Virginia City. In perspective, and in Limericks opinion, the Indians may not have been to blame, due to the fact that they were merely protecting themselves from the diseases brought on by Narcissa that had already killed every infected tribe member. Should Uk Policy Be Concerned About Unemployment Should UK policy makers be concerned about unemployment persistence and hysteresis given the increase in the unemployment rate since the start of the recession in 2008? Unemployment is measured by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) who conduct a Labour Force Survey (LFS) and through the Claimant Count. The Claimant Count measures those who are claiming Job Seekers Allowance whilst the LFS is a sample survey which is used for the official figures in the UK as this allows comparisons internationally. Through these measures, it is then possible to identify the unemployment rate, which is defined as the number of unemployed expressed as a percentage of the labour force . (Sloman 2005 p. 787) Since the 2008 recession, the unemployment rate has reached a high of 8.5% in the period Sep Nov 2011; however, the current level is 6.0% for the period June Aug 2014. In both, Alex is the narrator and uses Nadsat vocabulary to describe his acts of violence, however, the film narrative is perceived as less powerful as the novella. In the book, Alex s narration accentuates his cruelty, pleasure, and lack of remorse. His pleasure is highlighted in the book displaying his dark thoughts, making the novella A Clockwork Orange appear to be a more grotesque piece in language than the film. This is evident in an act of violence, the raping of two ten year old girls. In the film, Alex has what appears to be consensual sex with two women around or a few youngers than himself, that the met in a record store. Many concepts, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The rectifier is a Ga As Schottky barrier diode that is impedance matched to the dipoles by a low pass filter. The 6 rectifying diodes are connected to light bulbs for indicating that the power is received. The light bulbs also dissipated the received power. This rectenna has a 25% collection and conversion efficiency, but rectennas have been tested with greater than 90% efficiency at 2.45 GHz[4]. The transmission of power without wires is not a theory or a mere possibility, it is now a reality. The electrical energy can be economically transmitted without wires to any terrestrial distance, many researchers have established in numerous observations, experiments and measurements, qualitative and quantitative [5 9]. These have demonstrated that it is practicable to distribute power from a central plant in unlimited amounts, with a loss not exceeding a small fraction of one per cent, in the transmission, even to the greatest distance, twelve thousand miles to the opposite end of the globe. This seemingly impossible feat can now be readily performed by electrical researchers familiar with the design and construction of my high potential magnifying transmitter, There were three popular theories present in the literature of the late 1800 s and early 1900 s. They were: 1. Transmission through or along the Earth, 2. Propagation as a result of terrestrial resonances, 3. Coupling to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Myth And Archetype In Le Guin s The Nether According to Le Guin s Myth is an expression of one of the several ways the human being, body/psyche, perceives, understands, and relates to the world (Le Guin 69). Generally, this sentence assumes that myth and science are similar because they are both created by an individual s understanding ability. Le Guin concludes that it is impossible to replace a myth since humans are more likely to believe something rather than fully understand it. The play The Nether which is written by Jennifer Haley is somehow connecting to Le Guin s work. From her virtual world, she leads viewers to think about some ethical issues that difficult to solve. The play s setting is based on the near future, an era when people exist as avatars so they are able to engage in any experience or occasion (Margolies 185). • 36. Censorship on the Internet Essay Censorship on the Internet Five years after the first world wide web was launched at the end of 1991, The Internet has become very popular in the United States. Although President Clinton already signed the 1996 Telecommunication ActI on Thursday Feb 8, 1996, the censorship issue on the net still remains unresolved. In fact, censorship in cyberspace is unconscionable and impossible. Trying to censor the Internet its problematic because the net is an international issue, there is no standard for judging materials, and censorship is an abridgment of democratic spirit. Firstly, censorship on the Internet is an international issue. The Internet was constructed by the U.S. military since 1960s, but no one actually owns it. Thus, the Internet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why do people still argue about that? It is all about personal points of views. Justice Douglas said, To many the Song of Solomon is obscene. I do not think we, the judges, were ever given the constitutional power to make definitions of obscenity. II. In cyberspace, it is hard to set up a pool of judges to censor what could be displayed on the net. Thirdly, censorship works against democratic spirit, it opposes the right of free speech and is a breach of the First Amendment. Do you remember Salman Rushdie and his book The Satanic Verses? Iranian government announced a death threat to kill Rushdie and his publishers because his book speaks against Islam. No one wants that to happen again. If you are one of the Internet users, you should have seen a blue ribbon logo. The blue ribbon symbolizes a support for the essential human right of free speech. Let think about what happen if we lost the right of free speech. How can we stay online? Who gives courage to the web s designers to put their opinion on the net? On the same day when the 1996 Telecommunication Act signed in law, a bill called House Bill 1630 was introduced by Georgia House of Representatives member Don Parsons. It is so repel that this law even limits the right of choosing email addressesIII.
