interviews and questionnaires to elicit information. I contacted several counselors in public and
private schools to get the profiles of families that seek outside assistance with the college application
process and to understand how best to arrange a collaboration between counselors for the benefit of
the student. Through questionnaires, I asked families of current high school students, rising college
freshmen, and rising college sophomores which aspects of the process warrant more support. I also
reviewed articles and books on the subject to identify the key areas where students need additional
assistance with college admissions planning. The surveys and decision matrices I used are available to
assist counselors, students, and families.

Gerry Genuario was an influential drum player in Reno until he died. The concert held by the
percussion ensemble, which was a tribute to his life and art of music. The percussion ensemble was
held in a big concert hall venue that is for bigger bands and conductors, consisted of sheet music and
songs that are highly arranged but also implemented complex measures, virtuosic solos, and use of
unique instruments. The performance was intended for bigger audiences that are listeners instead of

there is never any condescending language. The exhibits curator was interested in giving a voice to the

good. Great was the word used to show the magnitude of the war. The war was massive. It was
gigantic in terms of the impact it had on literally the entire world. Only later in time would the event
become known as World War I.
Tensions between countries had been building across Europe. Many people thought war was
inevitable. There was propaganda all over European countries that helped to instigate the rise of
tensions. Some nations were just looking for a reason to attack other countries. People were happy
when the war first began. It was predicted to be a quick war. Things did not go according to plan as
the war lasted five years. When peace was finally reached in November of 1918, the war had gone on
a lot longer than originally anticipated.
There are many reasons why it was so absorbing and could be classified as a total war . Countries and
nations all across the world would become involved before it end. There were countries fighting from
Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America. Thirty five nations in all would send troops to fight.
No other war before this time had involved this many different continents.
Another reason why it was total war was that millions of men and women died fighting for their

Phonemes, which are the individual units of sound, such as /b/, /p/ or /m/, are considered to be the
building blocks of language development. The individual phonemes are the first sounds we utter as
infants. The babblings of infants comprise of all the phonemes contained in their language. As an
infant develops into a toddler, the phonemes come together to form the first words, and eventually
these words group together to form sentences. The developments from infancy to the time that these
children begin preschool or become preschool age are the beginnings of speech communication.
A child must learn the rules of phonology before they can begin to learn to read. Phonology is the
study of the unconscious rules governing speech sound production (Adams, Foorman, Lundberg, and
Beeler, 1998). This is one of the first topics that teachers begin instructing upon in preschool. Children
begin to learn the alphabet and start to associate the sounds with their corresponding letter. This
instruction from teacher begins the development of each individual child s phonological awareness.
