The Flynn Theory
There is a theory in psychology, called the Flynn effect that basically shows that each generation is
roughly 10 IQ points higher than its immediate predecessor. According to this theory, if someone
was born with an average IQ in the 1940s, the IQ change will have been so drastic in the time
between then and now, that they would actually be found to be mentally impaired by todays
standard of IQ test. Although only discovered in the 1930s, it is widely accepted that this has
always been occurring. Through lessons taught by older generations and evolution in brain ability,
each generation is ability to comprehend and think in ways that previous generations largely cannot.
Of course there are exceptions but the exceptions are the geniuses who... Show more content on

It would be more than 60 years before the civil war would end in America and end slavery, but
this is the first time where the general sense towards slavery changed. For the first time in human
history, people began to recognize the similarities they shared with one another, rather than the
differences. The thought processes are generational in that younger generations are always a little
more liberal and tolerant than the ones before, but as they grow older and rise to power, their new
beliefs attempt to make the world a better place. In time, the united states went from a country with
state sanctioned racism and discrimination, to one so dedicated to resolving injustice that the
country tore itself apart in order to see that achieve that goal. Granted, the ideas of social justice
leading up to the civil war are far more primitive than the ones current Americans have, but the
gradual improvement of the treatment of non white peoples can be mapped since then. This is not
to say that Americans at that time saw minorities as equals, but the progress of the human race had
evolved to a point that almost all major countries recognized the atrocities of a practice as long as
humans had existed, and ended it in roughly 60

The Importance Of Luke s Unique Material For His...
We are enjoying the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. Not a few people regard this as a good
opportunity to reconsider the meaning of the divine mercy, and make discussions all over the
world. Among them, especially, understanding the Gospel of Luke, which is known as Gospel of
mercy , is vital. Hence, it is meaningful for us to explore some parts of pericope from Lukan text.
In this essay, the importance of Luke s unique material for his representation of the mission and
ministry of Jesusshall be discussed in further detail.
Luke tries to the character of Jesus in this pericope. This is made remarkable by Peter s utterance:
master (Lk 5:5) and Lord (Lk 5:8) . Before and in the beginning of this pericope, Jesus is showed as
one who teaches the good news of the kingdom of God. (Lk 4:43) In that sense, it is natural to call
him master (Lk 5:5) However, after the miracle of a good catch of fish, he calls him Lord . (Lk 5:8)
In general, the word Lord is used as a form of polite address . Rowe also explains:
It is well known that New Testament scholars often take the vocative form of Kyrios to be
something polite or respectful address ( Sir or milord ).
However, as Rowe also set out that many scholars are not convinced this interpretation, it is
reasonable that this difference was made for Christological reason. Firstly, Luke shows Jesus
divinity in Peter s falling down at Jesus knee, which is a common body language in front of the
divinity to show the

Local resources Tourism in India can create great pressure on local resources like energy, food,
and other raw materials that may already be in short supply. Greater extraction and transport of
these resources exacerbates the physical impacts associated with their exploitation. Because of the
seasonal character of the industry, many destinations have ten times more inhabitants in the high
season as in the low season. A high demand is placed upon these resources to meet the high
expectations tourists often have (proper heating, hot water, etc.). Land degradation Important land
resources include fertile soil, forests, wetlands and wildlife. Increased construction of tourism
facilities has increased the pressure on these resources and on scenic landscapes. Direct impact on
natural resources in the provision of tourist facilities can be caused by the use of land for
accommodation and other infrastructure provision, and the use of building materials. Forests often
suffer negative impacts of tourism in the form of deforestation caused by fuel wood collection and
land clearing. For example, one trekking tourist in Nepal can use four to five kilograms of wood a
day. PHYSICAL IMPACT OF TOURISM IN INDIA Physical impacts of tourism development

Monetary Policy Provided By Federal Reserve System
Macroeconomic sentiment
Over the past couple of years we have seen a huge surge in stock markets (Chart#1). The main
reason for such moves is Quantitative Easing monetary policy provided by Federal Reserve
System since late 2008. Purchases were halted on 29 October 2014 after accumulating $4.5
trillion in assets or 26% of GDP. The key outlook is tend to be consumer behavior, because
households spending represents two thirds of GDP, which is broadest measure of economic
activity. The job market is considerably stronger right now. Since June last year, payroll
employments expanded by $2.2 million jobs (Chart#2), which represents 2.4 percent annual rate of
increase. As a result, incomes are rising rapidly. For the same period real... Show more content on

One more reason for such situation is recently surged value of the dollar.
Understanding the fact, that falling commodity prices and rising dollar cannot last indefinitely, and
maybe even bottomed out for now, I see a lot of perspectives within these markets in one year
period. Moreover, a lot of forecasters expect inflation to move toward two percent goal during this
year, which will result in substantial rise in commodity prices. Although, it is a controversial issue
according to the FED projections for the current and the next year, which have been lowered from
previous numbers (Table#1).
In this case, Fed is unlikely to tight money supply by increasing federal funds rate, which is
currently zero and is a frequently debatable topic. Such policy has a positive impact on a stock
market.

U.s. Iranian Negotiations And The United States Essay
United States Iranian Negotiations
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action has been regarded as the biggest diplomatic failure in the
United States history. While this seems to be an over sensationalized statement, analyzing the
dispute system design, cross cultural negotiation, and resistance points of the deal, may shed further
insight on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and how the United States resolves conflict with
Middle Eastern nations.
Historical Context
The relations between the United State s and Iran were amicable throughout the post World War II.
In entering the Cold War, the United States negotiated the Baghdad Pact in which an alliance
between, Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan was formed. During this era, President Nixon encouraged the
Shah of Iran to develop a nuclear program and provided the funding to Iran s energy sector. The
United States maintained a close partnership with Iran until, the Islamic Revolution in February of
1979. The revolution overthrew the Shah of Iran and Ruhollah Khomeini became the new supreme
leader of Iran. Immediately following the revolution, Iran engaged in a war against Iraq in the
early 1980s. With a new balance of power, tensions grew between the U.S. and Iran. During this
time, Iran held 52 Americans hostage in an attempt to negotiate with the United States; however,
after the Iranian hostage crisis, the United States no longer saw Iran as an ally.
After the Iranian Revolution, Khomeini sought to increase Iran s nuclear

Hurricane Irene affected the Caribbean and much of the United States east coast and was one of
the most damaging tropical cyclones of the 2011 Atlantic tropical cyclone season. Irene originated
east of the Lesser Antilles from a well defined Atlantic tropical wave in that area, and became
Tropical Storm Irene on August 20, 2011. Irene reached its highest point as a 120 mph Category 3
hurricane. Irene was ranked the seventh costliest hurricane with damages that cost around $15.6

northeastern United States. The highest rainfall recorded during Hurricane Irene s storm run was in

The study that was analyzed utilizes a Geographic Information System (GIS) to characterize the
spatial patterns of rainfall produced by Irene and to classify other tropical cyclones that took the
same track as Irene over the United States. A GIS is a system that is designed to capture, store,
maneuver, examine, manage, and present all types of geographical data. In order to use the GIS
they first had to identify analog tropical cyclones that took a path similar to Irene over the
United States which they obtained from HURDAT. HURDAT, or the North Atlantic hurricane
database, is the system that keeps all the records for all tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean,
Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea, since 1851. Once similar tropical storms were obtained,
then the latitude and longitude coordinates from the six hourly positions of Irene were entered
into the GIS and the points were then transformed into a line feature. This line feature represents
Irene s track and it was buffered by 200 kilometers to allow for the tropical cyclones to be
analyzed in this study region. The tropical cyclones that were similar to Irene were then imported
into the GIS. Once the buffer was applied there were twenty five tropical cyclones with tracks
similar to that of Irene. But the track of the hurricanes wasn t the only thing being studied here, we

Elimination Reaction Of 2-Methylbutane Lab Report
Elimination Reactions of Alkyl Halides
Purpose
The purpose of this lab is to understand the process of eliminating an alkyl halide to form an alkene.
The experiment is carried out by first converting the alcohol, 2 methy 2 butanol, into the alkyl
halide of 2 chloro 2 methylbutane that will then be put through dehydrohalogenation that favors
elimination reaction (E2) to create a mixture of 2 methyl 2 butene and 2 methyl 1 butene. A
fractional distillation will be taken to purify the mixture and an additional gas chromatography will
be done to further analyze the mixture composition. A bromide test will be done to determine the
product of an alkene in the experiment.

What Is The Relationship Between The Creator And The...
May Shelley crafted one of the most renowned novels of the Romantic era and gave birth the genre
of science fiction. Shelley s Frankenstein displays many themes, but none is more significant than
that of the relationship between the creator and the created. This relationship is undoubtedly
complex. Victor Frankensteins sentiments towards his creation vary from pure intrigue as he begins
to build the eight foot tall man to utter disdain towards him as the beast begins to push back against
him. Moreover, the creation receives no nurturing from the one that brought him to life, thus turning
his back on his creator. This dynamic comes in sharp contrast to that of the Puritans during the time
of William Bradford. Victor Frankenstein s creation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is overwhelmed with these emotions and the only way to release the anger is to bring death
to the loved ones of Frankenstein. The monster is deprived of any sort of love from the very
beginning of his life; thus, he will make it his goal to replicate this feeling for Victor. The beast
does succeed in bringing terror into the life of Victor with the murders of William, Justine, Henry,
and Elizabeth. This active desire to harm your creator is something unique about the relationship
between the creator and created in Frankenstein. William Bradford and his fellow Puritan
Separatists fled their native country in the pursuit of religious freedom. They believed that God was
imploring them to escape the persecution in England and they made it their chief goal to follow
his will. When discussing the reasons for why the Puritans departed Holland after about a year s
stay Bradford writes, A great hope and inward zeal they had to laying some good foundation, or at

of Christ in those remote parts of the world; yea, though they should be but even as stepping stones

Conflict Theory And Symbolic Interactionism
Sociology is the function of the human society, and social problems among us. There are three
different theories that I will be discussing in this essay. The theories are symbolic interactionism,
The conflict theory and functional analysis perspectives. These perspectives help make up the way
society thinks as a whole. All three of these perspectives are alike, as much as they are different.
Symbolic interactionism helps explain both of our individual personalities and the ways the human
society is linked together (p.27). It also helps us differentiate social order and change through a
process. The teachings of symbolic interactionism comes mostly from George Herbert Mead
But,George was not the only one that influenced the thoughts and ideas of symbolic interactionism.
Symbolic interaction is theoretical perspective so it is still changing and evolving. It also has four
kinds of understandings in the population and environment. One of the understandings is that
symbolic interactionism is to understand why people engage or do not engage in social growth of
the population . Symbolic Interactionism assumes that people from different social backgrounds,
and different cultures may see different social issues within their social community. George
Mead,Charles Cooley and Herbert Blumer shaped symbolic interactionism on the predictions of
yourself causing you to behave a certain way so it becomes true. Structural functionalism is a
theory that explains why society

the two melodies which caused the song to last longer than the other 4 minutes songs in the

Paulo Freire Essay
The Private Liberation
Paulo Freire introduces the idea of a problem posing education system in his book The Pedagogy of
the Oppressed, which offers a highly effective alternative to the traditional method of memorizing
facts that he deems the banking concept of education. Problem posing allows individuals to expand
their own thoughts, ideas, and opinions through open discussion in a classroom setting. I went
through such an experience senior year in my Comparative Government class, which focused on
different governments along with the key social and economic issues they face. While many may
argue that the banking concept has some value in certain issues, the alternative in problem posing
offers a broader experience in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The subject of government is engrained in peoples minds as being a history subject but the class
showed that in reality it is a living, changing, and expanding subject. Freire describes this loss of
meaning in the first page when he says ...Contents which are detached from reality, disconnected
from totality that engendered them and could give them significance. Words are emptied of their
concreteness and become a hollow, alienated, and alienating verbosity (318). A banking education
class would have had students sitting in straight rows staring at the white board fiercely copying
every single detail that the teacher wrote down about each of the governments, and in the minds of
the students these would be concrete unchanging situations. If someone were to come into a
discussion that the class was having, while wearing a blindfold, it would be a difficult task to
identify the instructor of the course because each student had a new and different perspective on
the article. The teacher, although presumed to have more knowledge than all of us as students,
never exerted his own thoughts and ideas as authoritative and absolute but offered ideas and
perspective the same way that each student brought their own opinions to the table. The focus was
for each student to foster his or her analytical skills,

How Sugar Metabolism Affects Your Body
The carbohydrates you eat are either complex starches or simple sugars. No matter what the source,
your body breaks down your dietary carbohydrates into their simplest component, usually glucose.
The primary function of sugar in your body metabolism is to provide energy to power your
activities. Additionally, sugarcan convert to a stored form of energy in your body, and it plays a role
in conserving your lean muscle mass.
Background
The starches you consume consist of large molecules of glucose linked together. Digestive enzymes
secreted from your salivary glands and pancreas clip the starch into individual glucose units as your
food passes from your mouth through your stomach and into your small intestine. Glucose, along
with other simple sugars you eat, pass through the cells of your small intestine, enter your
bloodstream and, with the help of insulin, move into the cells of your liver and other tissues. From
here, sugar molecules can burn as fuel or convert to different types of physiological molecules.

Rhetorical Analysis Of Lou Gehrig s Speech To Baseball
Seventy three years ago, on July 4th, a man whose skillset lied on the baseball field, much rather
than in speechmaking, delivered one of the most effective and inspiring speeches of all time. His
name was Lou Gehrig, and in the matter of approximately two minutes, he managed to reflect not
only his own thoughts of his disease and retirement from baseball, but also the thoughts and
mindsets of his fans and the American people during the 1930s. Lou Gehrig s farewell speech,
famously including the aforementioned quote, drew upon many rhetorical strategies in order to
convey themes and emotions that, especially during the time period, were extremely important
to his fans and all people. Gehrig heavily utilized ethos and pathos to argue his point, and it was
these two rhetorical appeals combined that allowed him to establish himself as a humble and
thankful man who considered himself nothing but lucky to have been given the opportunities in
life that he had been given. The backdrop of Lou Gehrig s speech is extremely important in
considering why his speech was so rhetorically effective. As mentioned previously, the speech
was delivered seventy three years ago, in 1939. At this time, the country was slowly recovering
from the Great Depression and war was imminent in Europe. It was a testing time for the American
people, so just to relax and enjoy themselves, people went to baseball games. People looked up to
these baseball players and it was through them that they could get

Some threats for Southwest would include if the economy was to go into a recession, air travel
would certainly decrease. Another threat could be increase in fuel price if there was a reduction in
travel. Competition is most certainly a threat. Southwest competes with other airlines on several
things, to name a few I would say customer service, frequent flyer programs, and prices. There is
also the threat of terrorist attacks.
Southwest s Internal Stakeholders
Stakeholders are mainly people that have an interest in the company. Stakeholders ensure that
resources are available to contribute to a company s success. Internal stakeholders would be the
CEO, upper management/team managers, and employees, and volunteers. The CEO expects its
staff to be concern, respectful, have a caring attitude and extend the best customer

William Wordsworth s The Prelude
In William Wordsworth s poem, The Prelude, he describes how he imagines London to be. He is
very descriptive when he touches on what he expects upon arrival to the city, and then realizes
London was not the paradise he alluded to earlier in his poem. William Wordsworth use of imagery
and diction reflect the city s natural environment, which he also uses in order to convey his feelings
of anticipation and dissatisfaction with what he has discovered. In the beginning of The Prelude,
William Wordsworths use of exclamation marks in the first few lines reveals his enthusiasm about
London. He say s, Oh, wondrous power of words, by simple faith/ Licensed to take the meaning
that we love! /Vauxhall and Ranelagh! (119 121) The author states his love for the power of
words, and moves on to talk about the gardens of Vauxhall and Ranelagh. These lines continue the
author s excitement, and he addresses London as if it were a person. The author establishes a
relationship with the city based on what he has heard and his writing reflects the passion he feels
towards the city.
The author describes the city that he has heard so much of and calls attention to what appeals the
most to him. He gives an account of its green grooves, gorgeous ladies, and fireworks magical to
name a few. The descriptions convey Wordworth s keenness to go to the city. Wordsworth emotion
is displayed in the words he uses to describe his fancy of the city. In lines 121 139 he marvels at
the thought of gorgeous

The Issues And Effects Of Military Families
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the issues and effects of military families and how they cope
with deployments and reintegration. That is, by exploring many interventions and programs such
as Operation Purple Camp, Military Child Education Coalition, and Families Overcoming under
Stress. These programs should be utilized more often in order for families and children to
effectively cope with military stress from deployments and reintegration. Three common themes
that were analyzed in the literature review which are 1) Effects of Deployment and Reintegration of
Military Families and Children; 2) Interventions for Children of Deployed or Reintegrated Parents;
and 3) Maltreatment with Children of Deployed and Reintegrated parents. Specifically, this paper
analyzes issues that fall under each of these three themes. That is, School and Educational Effects
and Deployment, Psychosocial and Behavioral Effects of Deployment, Education and School
Environment Intervention Programs, and Family Focused Intervention programs.
Introduction
One of the most difficult challenges that military families and children have to face is deployment
and reintegration. When Service individuals are deployed on extensive missions, the capacity to
viably adapt to the separation is imperative for keeping up individual well being and health for
families and children (Delahaij, 2016). Families and children deal with a lengthy amount of
stressors. The most commons stressors that

Banking Fraud And The Banking Industry
A banking fraud is the use of illegal means to gain money, assets from depositors or clients
fraudulently while posing as a bank, agent or any other financial institution. In many countries and
especially the United States, bank fraud is a criminal offense even though experts refer to it as a
white collar crime due to the manner in which it is carried out. The paper below will look at the
vulnerabilities that face the banking industry while using the example of Stanford Financial Group
Company to show how the banking fraudcan be committed. Moreover, the paper will also look at
the different frauds that can be committed in the banking sector and how the vulnerabilities can be
avoided. A fraud prevention program will also be created meant to help companies in the banking
industry prevent and detect crimes and frauds before they occur (Riggs, 2007).
Stanford Financial Group Company: A Brief History
The Stanford Financial Group Company was a privately owned international group that specialized
in financial services under the control of Allen Stanford. Allen Stanford controlled the financial
company until United States authorities seized in at the end of 2009 due to what came to be known
as Ponzi scheme or scandal. Among its many groups was the Stanford International Bank, with
more than 50 offices in 136 countries around the globe. The company offered diversified financial
services such as brokerage and investment advisory, private and commercial banking, advising

The Conflict Between Syria And The Middle Eastern Region...
Geography 142
Life In Syria
Syria is a country located in the Middle Eastern region of the world, and is currently in the stages
of developing. It is located on the eastern end of the Mediterranean Sea and lies between the
neighboring countries of Jordan, Israel, Iraq, Turkey, and Lebanon. Much of Syrias economy is
based on agriculture, oil, industry and services. All of which are major reasons why Syria could
be a developing country. Syria s population has been steadily increasing since the 1960 s, and
today has reached a population of about 22 million. The majority religion in Syria, like most
Middle Eastern countries, is Islam. Therefore the main language spoken in Syria is Arabic because

above sea level. (e.g. The Euphrates River runs through the east end of the country and was
dammed off in 1973. As a result, water was retained and a reservoir was created. This reservoir
was named Lake Assad and is the largest lake in the country. According to Princeton.edu, only
about 28% of all the land in Syria is arable, 46% of the land is meadows and pastures, and 3% is
forests and woodland. The landscape is mostly arid, so crops like wheat and barley make up two
thirds of the agriculture in the country. Cotton is also a major cash crop grown in Syria and is
and has been a big part of their economy for years. As water is a scarce resource in Syria and
other neighboring countries, most of these crops are grown in the Euphrates river valley. Overall,
agriculture contributes to a large portion of Syria s economy.
Syria is still a developing country in the Middle East. Its economy is based on agriculture and oil.
Just these two pillars in the Syrian economy make up for about one half of their Gross Domestic
Product (GDP). Since the start of the Syrian civil war, Syria s economy has taken a huge hit. The
government has restricted trade between several countries such as the United States, Japan, and
Australia. As a result, Syria has been faced with a major economic decline. These restrictions have
reversed the otherwise growing economy. According to the United Nations (UN), there have been
an estimated 143 billion dollars in economic damages as a result of the civil war.

The Pros And Cons Of Rescission In Scottish Law
In Scots law, there are generally two available self help remedies for material breach: retention and
rescission. Retention is the suspension of the innocent party s obligations (MacQueen, 2010) while
rescission is the termination of the contract for fundamental non performance; it is a remedy used
to bring a contract to an end so the party is no longer bound to carry out its obligations (Scottish
Law Commission, 2017).
The default position for termination of a contract is for the breach to be material (Turnbull v
MacLean Co, 1873). Without contractual expressions, the term material represents a situation in
which the debtor s activity undermines the basic purpose of the contract to such an extent as to
justify bringing the contract to an end (Scottish Law Commission, 2017). Turning a non material
breach to a material breach can be done through an ultimatum procedure or a summary declaratory
procedure (McBryde, The Scots Law of Breach of Contract: A Mixed System in Operation, 2010).
However, contracting parties can also treat breach as material when expressly provided, even if
objectively the effect of that breach is unimportant. This is interpreted in Wade v Waldon, where the
Lord President sets the criteria for rescission as a matter about the terms of the contract whether
stipulations go to the root of the contract , than the breach itself (Wade v Waldon, 1909 ).
This interpretation illustrates the first problem of the term material when justifying

Reflection Paper On Understanding My Life
Understanding My Life
We all have a life full of stories with good and bad moments, many of which we are proud of and
others we wish we could erase. Something we all have the potential to do but not everyone can is
not let mistakes or obstacles break us. We have obstacles since the moment we take our first breath
but we also have the ability to defeat them. The turning point in my life was recovering after my
anxiety attacks had taken the best of me.
Ever since I was born I ve had heart problems but, they were able to be maintained under control.
Unfortunately two years ago I was told my heart murmur was becoming a problem but with the
correct medication, everything would be okay. I tried to pretend nothing was wrong and I wanted
to continue following my regular schedule but I ended up overworking myself. Even though after
following up with my cardiologist and being told I was okay I didn t feel right.
There were times when I would try to breathe but no matter how hard I tried it felt like I was
standing in a room with no oxygen. My chest pain reached a point to where I was feeling as if I
had been stabbed. There was nothing I could do but cry. I went to the doctor but there was nothing
wrong, my heart problems were under control but my body made it seem like they weren t.
A major factor for my anxiety was the pressure I felt from the judgment of other people. Growing

The California plant appears to have a possible upgrade from what was most likely a similar
structure to the New Jersey Plant to a Nortex Digital Phone System with VoIP. This system allows
the California Plant to leverage the existing network used to communicate data across the Ethernet
(and ultimately across the Internet) to additionally manage voice communications. The VoIP could
additionally (although not documented as such) utilize a Public Switch TelephoneNetwork (PSTN)
gateway to send digital signals (voice) allowing the company to make local calls outside of the
LATA where the plants reside.
CPhysical Extent of Systems
The Ohio and Missouri (offices and plants) networks utilize a ring topology as the foundation.
Both Offices have an Avaya Digital Phone System to manage voice communication within the
office (interoffice) and local/long distance calling through a PSTN connection. Data and video are
managed separately through the ring and for outside the firewall communication through a T1
connection. The digital Avaya systems at both offices provides the ability to dial between offices
as if you where intraLATA (ie. 3, 4, 5 digit interoffice calling). The plants for these respective
locations tell a different story. While a token ring is still the basis for the network the

States of America consists of many different races but Bhutan is mostly compromised by Bhutanese
citizens. Our citizenship rules in the United States of America are very simple rather than Bhutan s.

Why Do Liquids Evaporate At Different Rates
The purpose of this lab investigation is to determine why liquids evaporate at different rates. The
Lab manual defines rate of evaporation (ВєC/s) as temperature change divided by the amount of
time taken to reach the lowest temperature. Factors such as the intermolecular forces (IMFs) of a
molecule determine the rate of evaporation. Observing the rate of evaporation allows one to figure
out the IMFs of a liquid. IMFs are the attraction of molecules, by which physical properties of a
liquid are determined. There are three main types of IMFs: London dispersion forces, dipole
dipole, and hydrogen boding. London dispersion forces are the weakest IMFs due to unequal
electrons and consist of a temporary dipole. Dipole dipole forces are attractions... Show more

The data table of IMFs of a liquid (below) display the strength of each substance. Methanol,
Ethanol, Propanol, Butanol, and Water were all hydrogen bonding, while Acetone was dipole
dipole, and Pentane was London dispersion. The rate of evaporation table shows that all the
hydrogen bonding liquids had the lowest rates of evaporation, except for Methanol whose rate was
0.113 ВєC/s. This data corresponds with the notion that stronger IMFs have slower rates of
evaporation, due to more energy and time needed to break their strong bonds. On the other hand,
when a molecule lacks highly electronegative atoms, that molecule will have a faster rate of
evaporation due to its inability to attract bonds. Pentane doesn t have any highly electronegative
atoms; therefore, it was justified as to why it had the fastest evaporation rate. Observing the bar
graph below, the liquids increased (slowest to fastest) in rate of evaporation from Butanol Propanol
Water Ethanol Methanol Acetone Pentane. In that same order, the liquids also increased from
strongest to weakest IMFs. Lastly, reviewing other groups data resulted in similar findings. Other
groups had Butanol as the slowest and Pentane as the fastest rate of

Why Do People Use Anabolic Steroids
Steroids often referred to as roids, or juice are the same as, or similar to hormones in the body.
The body makes steroids naturally to support such functions as fighting stress and promoting
growth and development. But some people use steroid pills, creams, gels, or injections because
they think steroids will improve their sports performance or the way they look. Anabolic steroids
are commonly used among teenage athletes to bulk up. Unfortunately, the improper use of steroids
(even at a young age) causes stunted growth, kidney impairment or failure, liver damage, and an
increased risk of heart attack or stroke. Also, AAs (Anabolic androgenic steroid) use has seen a
slight increase in the past few years. Furthermore, steroids are addicting... Show more content on

It is impossible for researchers to design studies that would accurately test the effects of large
doses of steroids on athletes, because giving participants such high doses would be unethical
(performance enhancing drugs: know the risks, pg. 2). This further supports that athletes misuse
steroids, not only because they are illegal and prohibited, but because they are taking doses
higher than prescribed. By taking higher doses there is no way to really know the negative
effects that may come with it, because very high doses of steroids has not been very well studied.
In addition, the Mayo Clinic states, Taking anabolic androgenic steroids to enhance athletic
performance, besides being prohibited by most sports organizations, it s illegal. In the past 70
years, more effective law enforcement in the United States has pushed much of the illegal steroid
industry into the black market. This poses additional health risks because the drugs are either
made in another countries and smuggled into the U.S. or they are made in clandestine labs in the
U.S. (performance enhancing drugs: know the risks, pg. 3). The reader can see from the
information above that steroids are illegal and prohibited for the use of athletes. It also helps the
reader see just how dangerous these drugs are because law enforcement has pushed the steroid
industry into the black market where they do not have to meet government

Date from TSG (2015) showed that the rate of relative poverty in Scotland fell while it in the UK
was unchanged in 2013/14. Nevertheless, economic inequality was significant by deprivation in
Scotland. In 2013/14, the top 10% of families got 24% of total income, with the top 2% having
approximately 10% of it. By contrast, the low level 40% households owned 22% of all household
income (TSG, 2015). As for wealth inequality, the least haves had less than 5% of all personal
wealth, while the top 10% got 44% of it (TSG, 2015). An interesting study about waiting time
statistics illustrated that patients from deprived areas were more likely to miss hospital
appointments due mainly to transport issues (AS, 2011). Associating all above evidences, it seems
that wealthy families could choose private services for better arrangements and treatment rather
than public services, with high level of resources and wealth. For low income households, they only
have appointments with GPs regularly. If missing hospital appointments, then they probably wait
for long time for next check, which would put off treatment for

Company Mergers
Company mergers and the effect on employees and consumers. Context: В· Employees В·
Management В· Consumers Direction: В· On line research (On line Magazines, News Groups) В·
Human Resources Why the topic is important: В· Mergers have affected our group, and it is a
growing trend in the American businesses today. Relevant Terms: Merger A merger is achieved
when a company purchases the property of another firm, thus absorbing them into one corporate
structure that retains its original identity. Consumer Consumers are everyday people who buy
goods for personal use. Consumers have the right to question object and boycott companies who are
not in their best interest. Culture Company culture is the DNA of an organization, not... Show more

В· What direction is the marketing effort taking, how much is being spent, and are there any
benchmarks? Is a merger still a merger when the respective sizes of the firms are ninety percent
and ten percent? Is it just an acquisition, where the ten percent should quietly accept the culture
of the ninety percent? Whether you call it a merger or an acquisition, each firm has its own
culture, and the smaller entity, if substantially different from the one around it, will continue to
survive as a discordant subculture, unless an effort is made to integrate all the players. Frequent
mergers leave little opportunity for establishing a value added firm culture. The surviving firm s
culture is absorption, which sooner or later like overeating will probably be self destructive. If
we truly believe that people are our most important asset we need to treat them that way. A
merger or an acquisition gives us an opportunity to do well by our people by being honest with
them, keeping them in the loop, and giving them all the information we can as early as we can.
Get people in both the merging company and the company being absorbed together as early as
possible. Discuss the issues that were the perceived potential benefits behind the merger openly
and frankly. If Company A s strength is sales and they are absorbing Company B in part because
of B s distribution capabilities, make sure A s distribution people know to listen to B s distribution
people and B s sales force

What Is The Theme Of USup De Des
Un Coup de Des Analysis Extra Credit
In english, Un Coup de Des means the throw of the dice. This poem begins with heavy imagery of a
ship being tossed around in the sea. However, the meaning is something different, not quite as
literal, and the symbolism throughout the poem is what makes this possible.
The ship mentioned in the start of the poem could easily be a symbol for just a simple person being
thrown into the world with endless opportunities, yet still a big shadow or abyss of the scary
unknown is always there to accompany it. The unknown might toss you around like the raging
waves of the ocean in a storm crashing high or might make you feel comfortable in a lul between
waves not knowing what s to come. The next part of the poem, in the line, the Master, beyond

From this portion of the poem it could be argued that it is refering to the time that God was
physically on earth, having the whole world at his feet, literally, then later he dies. However, he
did not just disappear completely because he is still all around in spirit controlling everything.
Next it moves on to speak of a man without a vessel who is empty symbolizing maybe he is
empty because he does not know God, who is a vessekl that could save him the perils of the
storm. In the portion following, the poem talks about a demon in a way that he may not be a
figure as well known as God, but he could be the one responsible for leading the empty men to
the dark side as opposed to helping them overcome it, disguising it as his childlike shade .
However, the statement the veil of illusion proves that this is nothingmore than an illusion and
everything is not as it seems, and this veil will fall and reveal the true evil. The next part of the
poem shifts the mood slightly it takes on a lighter feel. It talks about silence

  • 2. The Flynn Theory There is a theory in psychology, called the Flynn effect that basically shows that each generation is roughly 10 IQ points higher than its immediate predecessor. According to this theory, if someone was born with an average IQ in the 1940s, the IQ change will have been so drastic in the time between then and now, that they would actually be found to be mentally impaired by todays standard of IQ test. Although only discovered in the 1930s, it is widely accepted that this has always been occurring. Through lessons taught by older generations and evolution in brain ability, each generation is ability to comprehend and think in ways that previous generations largely cannot. Of course there are exceptions but the exceptions are the geniuses who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It would be more than 60 years before the civil war would end in America and end slavery, but this is the first time where the general sense towards slavery changed. For the first time in human history, people began to recognize the similarities they shared with one another, rather than the differences. The thought processes are generational in that younger generations are always a little more liberal and tolerant than the ones before, but as they grow older and rise to power, their new beliefs attempt to make the world a better place. In time, the united states went from a country with state sanctioned racism and discrimination, to one so dedicated to resolving injustice that the country tore itself apart in order to see that achieve that goal. Granted, the ideas of social justice leading up to the civil war are far more primitive than the ones current Americans have, but the gradual improvement of the treatment of non white peoples can be mapped since then. This is not to say that Americans at that time saw minorities as equals, but the progress of the human race had evolved to a point that almost all major countries recognized the atrocities of a practice as long as humans had existed, and ended it in roughly 60 ... • 3. The Importance Of Luke s Unique Material For His... We are enjoying the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. Not a few people regard this as a good opportunity to reconsider the meaning of the divine mercy, and make discussions all over the world. Among them, especially, understanding the Gospel of Luke, which is known as Gospel of mercy , is vital. Hence, it is meaningful for us to explore some parts of pericope from Lukan text. In this essay, the importance of Luke s unique material for his representation of the mission and ministry of Jesusshall be discussed in further detail. Luke tries to the character of Jesus in this pericope. This is made remarkable by Peter s utterance: master (Lk 5:5) and Lord (Lk 5:8) . Before and in the beginning of this pericope, Jesus is showed as one who teaches the good news of the kingdom of God. (Lk 4:43) In that sense, it is natural to call him master (Lk 5:5) However, after the miracle of a good catch of fish, he calls him Lord . (Lk 5:8) In general, the word Lord is used as a form of polite address . Rowe also explains: It is well known that New Testament scholars often take the vocative form of Kyrios to be something polite or respectful address ( Sir or milord ). However, as Rowe also set out that many scholars are not convinced this interpretation, it is reasonable that this difference was made for Christological reason. Firstly, Luke shows Jesus divinity in Peter s falling down at Jesus knee, which is a common body language in front of the divinity to show the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Local resources Tourism in India can create great pressure on local resources like energy, food, and other raw materials that may already be in short supply. Greater extraction and transport of these resources exacerbates the physical impacts associated with their exploitation. Because of the seasonal character of the industry, many destinations have ten times more inhabitants in the high season as in the low season. A high demand is placed upon these resources to meet the high expectations tourists often have (proper heating, hot water, etc.). Land degradation Important land resources include fertile soil, forests, wetlands and wildlife. Increased construction of tourism facilities has increased the pressure on these resources and on scenic landscapes. Direct impact on natural resources in the provision of tourist facilities can be caused by the use of land for accommodation and other infrastructure provision, and the use of building materials. Forests often suffer negative impacts of tourism in the form of deforestation caused by fuel wood collection and land clearing. For example, one trekking tourist in Nepal can use four to five kilograms of wood a day. While this seems to be an over sensationalized statement, analyzing the dispute system design, cross cultural negotiation, and resistance points of the deal, may shed further insight on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and how the United States resolves conflict with Middle Eastern nations. Historical Context The relations between the United State s and Iran were amicable throughout the post World War II. In entering the Cold War, the United States negotiated the Baghdad Pact in which an alliance between, Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan was formed. During this era, President Nixon encouraged the Shah of Iran to develop a nuclear program and provided the funding to Iran s energy sector. The United States maintained a close partnership with Iran until, the Islamic Revolution in February of 1979. The revolution overthrew the Shah of Iran and Ruhollah Khomeini became the new supreme leader of Iran. Immediately following the revolution, Iran engaged in a war against Iraq in the early 1980s. HURDAT, or the North Atlantic hurricane database, is the system that keeps all the records for all tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea, since 1851. There are three different theories that I will be discussing in this essay. The theories are symbolic interactionism, The conflict theory and functional analysis perspectives. These perspectives help make up the way society thinks as a whole. All three of these perspectives are alike, as much as they are different. Symbolic interactionism helps explain both of our individual personalities and the ways the human society is linked together (p.27). Symbolic Interactionism assumes that people from different social backgrounds, and different cultures may see different social issues within their social community. His name was Lou Gehrig, and in the matter of approximately two minutes, he managed to reflect not only his own thoughts of his disease and retirement from baseball, but also the thoughts and mindsets of his fans and the American people during the 1930s. Lou Gehrig s farewell speech, famously including the aforementioned quote, drew upon many rhetorical strategies in order to convey themes and emotions that, especially during the time period, were extremely important to his fans and all people. Gehrig heavily utilized ethos and pathos to argue his point, and it was these two rhetorical appeals combined that allowed him to establish himself as a humble and thankful man who considered himself nothing but lucky to have been given the opportunities in life that he had been given. The backdrop of Lou Gehrig s speech is extremely important in considering why his speech was so rhetorically effective. • 24. William Wordsworth s The Prelude In William Wordsworth s poem, The Prelude, he describes how he imagines London to be. He is very descriptive when he touches on what he expects upon arrival to the city, and then realizes London was not the paradise he alluded to earlier in his poem. William Wordsworth use of imagery and diction reflect the city s natural environment, which he also uses in order to convey his feelings of anticipation and dissatisfaction with what he has discovered. In the beginning of The Prelude, William Wordsworths use of exclamation marks in the first few lines reveals his enthusiasm about London. He say s, Oh, wondrous power of words, by simple faith/ Licensed to take the meaning that we love! /Vauxhall and Ranelagh! (119 121) The author states his love for the power of words, and moves on to talk about the gardens of Vauxhall and Ranelagh. These lines continue the author s excitement, and he addresses London as if it were a person. The author establishes a relationship with the city based on what he has heard and his writing reflects the passion he feels towards the city. The author describes the city that he has heard so much of and calls attention to what appeals the most to him. He gives an account of its green grooves, gorgeous ladies, and fireworks magical to name a few. The descriptions convey Wordworth s keenness to go to the city. Banking Fraud And The Banking Industry A banking fraud is the use of illegal means to gain money, assets from depositors or clients fraudulently while posing as a bank, agent or any other financial institution. In many countries and especially the United States, bank fraud is a criminal offense even though experts refer to it as a white collar crime due to the manner in which it is carried out. The paper below will look at the vulnerabilities that face the banking industry while using the example of Stanford Financial Group Company to show how the banking fraudcan be committed. Moreover, the paper will also look at the different frauds that can be committed in the banking sector and how the vulnerabilities can be avoided. • 32. The Pros And Cons Of Rescission In Scottish Law In Scots law, there are generally two available self help remedies for material breach: retention and rescission. Retention is the suspension of the innocent party s obligations (MacQueen, 2010) while rescission is the termination of the contract for fundamental non performance; it is a remedy used to bring a contract to an end so the party is no longer bound to carry out its obligations (Scottish Law Commission, 2017). The default position for termination of a contract is for the breach to be material (Turnbull v MacLean Co, 1873). Without contractual expressions, the term material represents a situation in which the debtor s activity undermines the basic purpose of the contract to such an extent as to justify bringing the contract to an end (Scottish Law Commission, 2017). Turning a non material breach to a material breach can be done through an ultimatum procedure or a summary declaratory procedure (McBryde, The Scots Law of Breach of Contract: A Mixed System in Operation, 2010). However, contracting parties can also treat breach as material when expressly provided, even if objectively the effect of that breach is unimportant. This is interpreted in Wade v Waldon, where the Lord President sets the criteria for rescission as a matter about the terms of the contract whether stipulations go to the root of the contract , than the breach itself (Wade v Waldon, 1909 ). This interpretation illustrates the first problem of the term material when justifying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Why Do Liquids Evaporate At Different Rates The purpose of this lab investigation is to determine why liquids evaporate at different rates. The Lab manual defines rate of evaporation (ВєC/s) as temperature change divided by the amount of time taken to reach the lowest temperature. Factors such as the intermolecular forces (IMFs) of a molecule determine the rate of evaporation. Observing the rate of evaporation allows one to figure out the IMFs of a liquid. IMFs are the attraction of molecules, by which physical properties of a liquid are determined. There are three main types of IMFs: London dispersion forces, dipole dipole, and hydrogen boding. London dispersion forces are the weakest IMFs due to unequal electrons and consist of a temporary dipole. Dipole dipole forces are attractions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The data table of IMFs of a liquid (below) display the strength of each substance. Methanol, Ethanol, Propanol, Butanol, and Water were all hydrogen bonding, while Acetone was dipole dipole, and Pentane was London dispersion. The rate of evaporation table shows that all the hydrogen bonding liquids had the lowest rates of evaporation, except for Methanol whose rate was 0.113 ВєC/s. This data corresponds with the notion that stronger IMFs have slower rates of evaporation, due to more energy and time needed to break their strong bonds. On the other hand, when a molecule lacks highly electronegative atoms, that molecule will have a faster rate of evaporation due to its inability to attract bonds. Pentane doesn t have any highly electronegative atoms; therefore, it was justified as to why it had the fastest evaporation rate. Observing the bar graph below, the liquids increased (slowest to fastest) in rate of evaporation from Butanol Propanol Water Ethanol Methanol Acetone Pentane. In that same order, the liquids also increased from strongest to weakest IMFs. Lastly, reviewing other groups data resulted in similar findings. By taking higher doses there is no way to really know the negative effects that may come with it, because very high doses of steroids has not been very well studied. In addition, the Mayo Clinic states, Taking anabolic androgenic steroids to enhance athletic performance, besides being prohibited by most sports organizations, it s illegal. Associating all above evidences, it seems that wealthy families could choose private services for better arrangements and treatment rather than public services, with high level of resources and wealth. В· What direction is the marketing effort taking, how much is being spent, and are there any benchmarks? Is a merger still a merger when the respective sizes of the firms are ninety percent and ten percent? Is it just an acquisition, where the ten percent should quietly accept the culture of the ninety percent? Whether you call it a merger or an acquisition, each firm has its own culture, and the smaller entity, if substantially different from the one around it, will continue to survive as a discordant subculture, unless an effort is made to integrate all the players. Frequent mergers leave little opportunity for establishing a value added firm culture. The surviving firm s culture is absorption, which sooner or later like overeating will probably be self destructive. If we truly believe that people are our most important asset we need to treat them that way. A merger or an acquisition gives us an opportunity to do well by our people by being honest with them, keeping them in the loop, and giving them all the information we can as early as we can. Get people in both the merging company and the company being absorbed together as early as possible. Discuss the issues that were the perceived potential benefits behind the merger openly and frankly. This poem begins with heavy imagery of a ship being tossed around in the sea. However, the meaning is something different, not quite as literal, and the symbolism throughout the poem is what makes this possible. The ship mentioned in the start of the poem could easily be a symbol for just a simple person being thrown into the world with endless opportunities, yet still a big shadow or abyss of the scary unknown is always there to accompany it. The unknown might toss you around like the raging waves of the ocean in a storm crashing high or might make you feel comfortable in a lul between waves not knowing what s to come. The next part of the poem, in the line, the Master, beyond former ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From this portion of the poem it could be argued that it is refering to the time that God was physically on earth, having the whole world at his feet, literally, then later he dies. However, he did not just disappear completely because he is still all around in spirit controlling everything. Next it moves on to speak of a man without a vessel who is empty symbolizing maybe he is empty because he does not know God, who is a vessekl that could save him the perils of the storm. In the portion following, the poem talks about a demon in a way that he may not be a figure as well known as God, but he could be the one responsible for leading the empty men to the dark side as opposed to helping them overcome it, disguising it as his childlike shade . However, the statement the veil of illusion proves that this is nothingmore than an illusion and everything is not as it seems, and this veil will fall and reveal the true evil. The next part of the poem shifts the mood slightly it takes on a lighter feel. It talks about silence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
