Reflection On Pleasures And Wisdom
Ecclesiastes 2:1 26 says that pleasures and wisdom are meaningless, because everything is
meaningless without Christ in our lives. Solomon tried to pursue fulfillment through pleasure, wealth,
and fame. He was letting his own interests control him, not doing what God has planned for him.
Using only our human wisdom wouldn t get us far in life; we would only come across more obstacles
that we can t overcome on our own. Without God s guidance and wisdom, we would live an interest
centered life that only fulfills our personal interests, unlike a Christ centered life. In a Christ centered
life, we put our faith in God and trust that He knows what is best for us, and therefore do everything
according to His plan. Solomon felt that pleasure, wisdom, folly, foil, and everything is meaningless
because he didn t put God first. He put his interests first and could only fulfill his As he attempted to
draw satisfaction purely out of his pleasure, he realized that without God nothing can be fulfilled, and
experienced many obstacles on his way.
Through the parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14 30, we learn that we should not be lazy, because
God created us to work for Him and serve wholeheartedly. Unlike the third steward, we need to work
to fulfill God s plan for us and serve God with all our hearts. What matters the most is that we need to
have full commitment to being faithful and wise stewards to God, and doing what He has planned for
us before we were even born. Talents are the

Rise Of The Robots Analysis
Essay 3: Rise of the Robots
In Mr. Martin Ford s Rise of the Robots, the author argues that the economic future is in danger due to
technology overtaking the workforce. As technology becomes smarter, they have taken over the jobs
that humans have previously done. However, it is not just simple tasks, but intricate tasks that require
multiple steps, such as brain surgery. Mr. Ford presents a valid argument of that at the rate that
technology is progressing, it will probably only be a few decades before robotics overtake the
workforce. Mr. Ford s main argument is that coming technology will have a profound impact on our
economics. Even today, we have automated robots doing tasks that, formally, humans couldn t
preform with such accuracy, such as self driving cars and even surgeries. Robots are able to assemble
other robots via the assembly lines. Increasingly, technology is advancing faster than humans in
discovering ways to complete tasks. Technology is becoming exponentially better at writing its own
programing, raising the question why could they not overtake all jobs currently performed by humans.
Surgery is a major example of how robots have surpassed the human capabilities, being able to
complete the procedure with minimal invasiveness. It is already unique enough for a robot to assemble
a washing machine, per say, but now they are able to perform tasks that humans cannot even
complete. More sophisticated robots are referred to as artificial

Similarities Between Bordeaux And Burgundy From The Same...
Introduction This paper will zero in on compare and contrast two different regions which are
Bordeaux and Burgundy in the same field: location, Climate and Terroir, and Grapes. Discuss the early
history of the development of each region, including the specific examples. Then review the location,
Climate and Terroir, and Grapes that rank the wines as among the best in the world. To conclude, look
into the future of each region to analyze prospects for continued success.
The history of Bordeaux Wine The history of the Bordeaux wine region dates back to the ancient
Romans who were the first people to cultivate, plant vineyards and produce Bordeaux wine. The
Romans took over the area in about 60 BC, and it was starting to earn fame for its wines as far back as
in 1152 when Henry of England wed Eleanor of Aquitaine, who controlled the region. The Bordeaux
appellation was perfect for cultivating grapes for wine. It offered the unique combination of the right
soil for growing grapes used in the production of wine coupled with easy access to the Garonne river,
which was needed to help ship the wines. Because after a series of attacks on the city in 1206, greater
freedom was granted, so it lead to the 12th century became the start of Bordeaux s golden age. Over
the centuries winemakers of the region have mastered both the art of blending and have learnt to work
with Bordeaux s unique climate and terrain to produce a wide diversity of reds, whites and roses all

Into Neytiri
Into Neytiri
James Cameron once said Imagination is a force that can actually manifest a reality . This is
something James made true with the movie Avatar . He spent an abundance of time carefully crafting
each of his important characters for a specific reason. The movie Avatar has certain themes that James
Cameron wants to get the audience to see, and he uses the characters to bring the themes trough.
Neytiri is one of those characters so essential to the development of the story. Mr. Cameron made
Neytiri a dynamic, motivated, and major character. Neytiri is a dynamic character through the
progression of her feelings as the movies plays out. A dynamic character is a character that goes

A book says that Motivation is what animates a story and justifies that behavior of each character .
James made Neytiri a single minded character so she would be the type of person to teach Jake if it
meant helping her family. A big motivation for Neytrir is her family which she would do anything for
wether they asked her or not. That is the type of motivation the movie needed to help give it a fire of
passion that she brings to the plot. Something else Neytiri did because of her determination is go on
with out her father after he was struck by home tree as it was coming down. Although she was sick
with gref over her father she took the bow from him like she asked and carried on for her people
because rthat is what they neede from there princess in that moment. James Cameron made neytiri
motivated because that is what her people needed and knew the audience would be in awe to her
dedication to her people and her love for everything navee. During the final battle scene when neytiri
was backed against a tree all alone, and no one to help her with Jake yeling at her to stand down she
fought. She did not wait for reinforcements or jake to save her she fought back because neytirii is no

Cognitive Behavioral Theory Of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Abstract This case conceptualization of Francis discusses the principles of the cognitive behavioral
theory that are based on the belief that learning, cognitions, and perceptions play a significant role in
the development and maintenance of emotional and behavioral problems. Various CBT models are
applied to the diagnostic determinants of Francis dysfunctional behavior and the empirically supported
methods of cognitive behavioral treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder are used to build a
treatment plan to aid in Francis recovery. Cognitive Behavioral Case Conceptualization of Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder Presenting Problems Francis, a married, Caucasian male, requested
psychological assessment for thoughts that he describes as recurrent, automatic ideations of dangerous
occurrences befalling his wife and daughter when he is not present, and therefore, cannot save them.
Francis explained that he is fully aware that his family is not in danger, that his thoughts are not based
on reality, and he describes these thoughts as silly. He explained that his concerns are temporarily
abated when he contacts his wife for confirmation that they are safe. Francis contacts his wife and
daughter hourly, by telephone, when he is away from home. The contact process involves Francis wife
briefly picking up the phone and hanging up to signal Francis that they are safe. He explained that he
has had these problems for years; however, they were exacerbated by his

Appreciate Your Heritage Some Americans remember where they came from; others don t. That s the
case in Daniel Chacon s story The Biggest City in the World . It is a story about Harvey Gomez who is
a Mexican American young man whose grandparents migrated to the Unites States from Mexico.
Harvey has only been to Mexico once in his entire life and neither of his parents has ever been there
before. Therefore he doesn t know anything about his native culture or language. In this story Harvey
travels deep inside of Mexico for the first time with his Mexican history Professor David P. Rogstart
and gets exposed to its culture and language. On the contrary, Carolina ... Show more content on

The poem Finding Home written by Carolina Hospital tells the story of how Mexicans who come to
America try to find their heritage in the United States. Like many who migrate to America, the
immigrants miss their country and are concerned about losing their culture. In contrast to Harvey
Gomez, this poem shows that many Mexicans in America appreciate their heritage. I have travelled
north again,/to these gray skies/and empty doorways, (Hospital 101). This shows that they miss their
native country and are concerned about forgetting their heritage. Perhaps Harvey s grandparents
thought the same thing when they first came to America from Mexico. Regardless of their arrival in
America, they want to return to Mexico someday. I must travel again soon (Hospital 102). Despite
leaving their native land they have respect for Mexico and will visit again. After the experience that
Harvey had in discovering his heritage, I am sure that he will visit Mexico again. Daniel Chacon is
clearly making a statement that Mexican immigrants whose kids are born and raised in America forget
their own culture. In the story Harvey Gomez is denying his heritage and was embarrassed at times to
admit that he is Mexican. This is because he barely knows anything about Mexico and doesn t even
speak the language. Eventually Harvey accepts who he is and discovers his heritage throughout the
story. I believe that Chacon wants to

Santo Spirito Technique
As artistic styles and techniques developed during the Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo periods,
they became increasingly reliant on scientific knowledge and experimentation. Two of the major
factors of this trend were the continuing improvements in the understanding of human anatomy, and a
well documented understanding of the geometry of linear perspective. Examples for each period will
be discussed in relation to these scientific achievements.
During the Renaissance, in the year 1420, Brunelleschi completed an experiment which allowed him
to properly depict three dimensional space on a flat plane. The result of this experiment was The
Elevation of Santo Spirito in which he presented an accurate rendering of how an architectural project

Fritz Lang M Film Techniques
The film M by Fritz Lang (1931) is a timeless masterpiece that not only reflects the fear and distrust
present in German society after WWI, but also uses sound in ways it had never been used befor. M
was made during a time of paranoia in Germany, set against the backdrop of a rapidly deteriorating
Weimar Republic. The country was in the midst of heightened poverty due to unemployment and
increasing criminal activity after the stock market crash of 1929. It was also a time where
psychopathic serial killers were at large in German cities. In the film, the panic felt by the
townspeople to try and catch the murderer, and the paranoia that it could be anyone among them, is
reflective of the fearful emotions felt by the German people during the early 1930s. The use of high
camera angles show the vulnerability and innocence of the children, the murderer s victims. The use of
shadows and reflections show that the murderer has two sides, and it is because of these two varying
characters that he can walk amongst society unknown for what he is. For example, when the
townspeople see a man telling a little girl what time it is, they immediately assume he must be the
murderer. Because of their paranoia, they jump to conclusions, ... Show more content on

These fears arose from the global recession due to the stock market crash in 1929, where
unemployment, poverty, and crime greatly increased, and from the rapid decline of their government.
M was also Fritz Lang s first sound picture, and he therefore had the opportunity to use sound in ways
that had not been done before. He used sound, and silence, to help shape the mood and tone of the
film, making the emotions and the message he was portraying that much more effective. By doing so,
Lang created a film that will remain as one of the greatest films of all

Adaptation Of Taylor-Powell Logic Model
1. Adaptation of Taylor Powell Logic Model (1999) (McCawley, 2002)
The Logic Model is a visual model or tool, which is drawn from the basic structure of David Easton s
System Theory, used in describing the underlying concept of an object under study. Used by program
evaluators and managers in assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of a specific program used for
almost twenty years, the Logic Model involves on giving descriptions regarding the relationship of the
inputs, program resources, outputs, and outcomes in addressing a specific problem or situation. This
model helps in determining the critical measures of performances in a program. This framework also
illustrates and points out a causal relationship between the situation or problem to the outputs and
inputs and to the outcomes.

Three bodies of literature were said to be the guiding factor in the development of this theoretical
framework. First is the organization theory and the work on organizational change wherein they
acknowledge the importance of the concerns about organizational control in sociological work which
was influenced by Max Weber, and which included Crozier s classic French study of bureaucratic
resistance to change in 1984and Etzioni s analysis of forms of compliance written in 1961. The second
guiding factor was Dolbeare and Hammond s study of the factors that influenced responses to US
Supreme Court rulings on school prayers in 1971 and other studies on the impact of public policy
andjudicial decisions. And lastly, studies of inter governmental relations such as the literatures written
by Derthick in 1970 and 1972 and the work of Pressman and Wildavsky in 1973 helped them

Failure Doesn T Come From Falling Down By Francisca Cardenas
Francisca Cardenas November 20, 2015 It s really difficult to find success there s many obstacles that
cross our paths and most end up defeating us. Some people decide to give up or for others graduating
high school is their own success. Everyone has different perspectives of what success is or means to
them. In my opinion success is when you re content with the goals you ve accomplish or have yet to
achieve. If you ve achieved your goals then you have succeeded. Even if it s the simplest thing, to
another person that shouldn t matter because your success will please you and not others. While
preceding your goal in life, there will be a lot of people who will try to belittle you in every way they
can but like its once was said, Some people don t like you because your strength reminds them of their
weakness. Don t let the hate slow you down. Thema Davis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

t come from falling down. Failure comes from not getting up and I totally agree. Even the greatest of
people have failed at a point but they didn t give up which is why they re where they stand now. In my
opinion failing gives me such a hallow feeling but it doesn t hurt to get back up and try again. So,

The Science Of Math And Science By Mathematical And...
Some of Earths greatest questions have been solved through the arts of math and science by
mathematical and experimental proof. However, not all of the worlds problems can be solved directly
through experiments and equations. Philosophy and theories are sometimes accepted as truth because
there is no other explanation for a mind boggling questions. Some philosophers or Scientists were
even deemed blasphemous through their beliefs or teachings. Two men, born and raised in religious
and still skeptic times were René Descartes and Charles Darwin who, with their most infamous books,
The Mediation and the Origin of Species would create chaos in the minds of religious believers at the
time but, in the long run, would be considered to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To resolve this, he decides to discard all his former beliefs and conceptions, reconstruct his
knowledge, and only acknowledging information as true only if the statements are unquestionably
true. He believed that he could be dreaming and at any moment wake up. Perhaps God or some evil
entity could be deceiving him and so he concluded that everything he once thought was real was
obtained through the senses and dismissing his own sanity was the only way to obtain concrete truth.
Darwin also had to accept Rene Descartes beliefs in some perspective as well. Charles Darwin, as
mentioned above, was also raised in a religious home and before his discoveries, he was also a man of
God. Though, as his discoveries overtook his religious perspective, he leaned more towards the
scientific side of things and began to reject his previous beliefs. Thus, he had to, somewhat, also take
everything that he had thought before as false, unless factual truth could prove otherwise. Only then
could he take in his findings as truth, which he did so. He rejected his previous faith and accepted his
discoveries as absolute truth sense there was concrete proof to prove his theory correct.
When Descartes reasoned

Colonization Of The New World s Mission
Colonization is the act of setting up a colony away from one s place of origin (Colonization, 2015)
.The history of the colonization of Massachusetts and Georgia is very interesting both of these two
colonies were founded under basically the same premises which were seeking a better life. However,
there are some similarities and differences that are evident. The founders of the New World s mission
were freedom. However, their number reasoning was spiritual freedom. They were tired of the Church
of England. Pilgrims and Puritans sought to recreate society in the manner they believed God truly
intended it to be designed (Kennedy, Cohen, Bailey, 2009). England s success at colonizing was due in
large part to its use of contact or (charter) companies. Charter companies were groups of shareholders
who were seek personal financial wealth. Because the colonies were so slow to make profits in the
beginning, the charter companies would leave the colonists to build their own lives, their own
communities, and their own economy, to start building the fundamentals of a new nation. There were
three main premises for the foundation of the New World. The three main reasons were religion,
economics, and government. For those three main reasons, colonist search to find a place full of
economic opportunities and religious freedom. They also were looking for a place where they could
have a type of government that was not run by with such a tight glove. The

The Resilience Of Energy Supply Chain

they manage their supply chain in case a disruption occurs, it also exchanges views on European union

As suggested by the article to keep reserve stocks for up to 90 days of supply. For example, in Baji a
major oil refinery was set on fire by ISIS forces who were controlling this refinery in the past. This oil
refinery was one o the major oil production companies in the country. In such cases small safety
stocks will finish in a few days, so only keeping reserve stocks may not be the solution . World s 60
percent oil reserves are in middle east where these types of incidents occur (Critchlow,
2015).Deciding the perfect amount of safety stock is very critical and depends on various factors like
company sales ,forecasts and transportation risks.
In case of natural disaster or a major disruptions various strategies can be used to prevent loses. As the
article suggests alternate product design can be used in case of disruption ,this approach is practical
and was used by many companies in the past. For instance, In March,2000 after a major electronic
company caught fire in Mexico both Nokia and Ericson were facing component shortage . Instead of
waiting for the product Nokia changed the product design and sourced different component from other
suppliers while Ericson on the other hand lost millions because of this

The Cherokee Indians By Hernando De Soto
The Cherokee Indians lived in North American far longer than any other British decent or human
being. Still they were compelled to move from their property (land), which was done in a fierce way,
which had been theirs for quite a long time and hundreds of years. This excursion of evacuation was
known as the Trail of Tears, and this paper will demonstrate the impacts this moved had on the
Cherokee individuals. It will let you know how they lived before they were compel to moved, clarify
the occasions that prompted to their evacuation, states of their travel, and what happen to the
Cherokee individuals after the Trail of tears. The local individuals of North America lived in peace for
a long time. Nevertheless the lives of the Native America came to a shocking stop in 1540. This was
the year that Hernando De Soto came into contact with the local individuals of North American. The
locals, known as Indians, would interact with pioneers from around the globe that need their property
for themselves or their nation. The local would inevitably embrace a portion of the outsiders ways.
They would even venture to battle in a portion of the pioneer wars. This was demonstrated not to be a
smart thought for them on the grounds that in the event that they were on the losing side, the outcomes
were the lost of their property. Through the nineteenth century around one hundred thousand Indians
were compel to move westbound far from their territory. There were five Indian tribes that

Arguments Against Statutory Rape
Statutory Rape
Discussion
Statutory rape is not an easy term to define. It seems that the definition would be simple and would
include someone older having sex with someone younger than the legal age. That leads us to what is
the legal age? What difference in age is acceptable? Is it really the age of the person that dictates
whether or not an individual is capable of making rational decisions about having intercourse? Are
there special circumstances when using the term?
Mitchell Rogers (2003) stated that part of the struggle with the reporting of sexual abuse is because of
the confusion over the legal definitions of the acts and how to differentiate one from another. This
confusion may also be contributing to the reports of sexual abuse because not all mandated reporters
are clear on the definitions, but they know what is happening with the child is not right. When this
happens and the wrong term is used for the allegations, the investigation, in part, could be dismissed
because it doesn t fit that state s criteria for what was reported. Individual states build their definitions
of child sexual abuse from a minimal definition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sexual abuse of a 14 year old is when any person engages in a sex act including intercourse, anal, or

considered sexual abuse when the defendant and the child are related or they live in the same dwelling

into participating in the sexual activity. The perpetrator is four or more years older than the child

Descriptive Essay On A Christmas Walker
The other day my mom came home from the store with the usual armful of cardboard bags. However,
there was something very different about one bag that separated it from all of the others. My mom
asked me to unload the items and organize them into their awaiting shelves. Their contents contained
typical groceries such as cereal, some new herbal teas, and a fresh bottle of dish detergent. But, this
special bag carried a large Yankee candle encased in glass and embellished with a large sticker reading
Christmas Cookie . On the label a petite tree shaped sugar cookie sat on a plate. Immediately, I smiled
because cookie scented candles are my absolute favorite. I rushed to the second drawer of the kitchen

with satisfaction, I was suddenly punched in the face by nostalgia. The warm, comforting and sweet
smell of that candle had somehow transported me back to christmas a few years ago. I was a joyful,

Albert Einstein Essay
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. There are two ways to
live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
Albert Einstein was the first child born to Hermann and Pauline Einstein, Jewish, middle class
Germans, on March 14, 1879 at Ulm, in Wurttemberg, Germany. Albert s sister, Maria, was born in
November of 1881. They remained close throughout their lives.Einstein and sister 1 The Einstein
family moved to Munich in 1880 to start their own business. Albert began his secondary schooling at
Luitpold Gymnasium. In 1894, the family business failed and the family moved to Milan, Italy. Albert
stayed behind in Munich to finish his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
1905 was Einstein s miracle year. In March of that year, he sent to the Annalen der Physik, the leading
German physics journal, a paper with a new understanding of the structure of light. He argued that
light acts as though is consists of independent particles of energy. Einstein built on Max Planck s work
and went beyond this. He showed that light quanta could help to explain phenomena being studied by
experimental physicists; he made clear how light ejects electrons from metals. In May of 1905,
Einstein submitted another paper that reinforced the kinetic energy theory. His Special Theory of
Relativity was born; Einstein submitted yet another paper in June of 1905 on electromagnetism and
motion. Since Galileo and Newton, physicists had known that laboratory experiments never revealed a
difference between an object at rest and an object moving at a constant speed along a straight line.
Objects behave the same way on a uniformly moving ship as they do on an anchored ship; this is the
Principle of Relativity. However, according to the electromagnetic theory, light should not obey this
principle. This theory predicted that measurements on velociy of light would show the effects of
motion. Yet, no such effect had been detected in any experiments the velocity of light did not vary.
Einstein found a way to show that the Principle of Relativity was

Parallelism In Grapes Of Wrath
Lydia Aremu
Kleyn
AP Literature/period
6 August 2017
Renewal in The Grapes of Wrath
John Steinbeck usually uses California and the Salinas valley as his setting and is usually placed in the
30s when the great depression occurred. The Grapes of Wrath is about a family living in Oklahoma
and they are farmers during the period called the dustbowl in which culture was rough because there
were droughts and conditions were not suitable for farming. This family, because they are not doing
too well, decide to move to California to find jobs and dignity. The author writes about the struggle of
a family during and Great Depression and also the struggle of each individual as their lives are being
torn apart. He not only shows how they go through these hardships, but also how they will overcome
them. In John Steinbeck s novel, The Grapes of Wrath, he argues that all who follow the ways of the
Bible will become renewed at the end. He uses religion and parallelism in order to bring to light, the
chance of hope that is evident within dire circumstances, and project changes within people during
turmoil.
The Grapes of Wrath incorporates parallels between both the Old Testament and the New Testament.
Steinbeck uses biblical symbols from the book Exodus to tell the story of the Joad family s journey to
California. The Dust Bowl, which is the reason they are leaving Oklahoma, is a representation of the
plague. Another symbol used in this novel is Noah s Ark. This represents the truck they used

William Shakespeare s Hamlet Essay
To be or not to be (3.1.64) not whether to live or to die, but the use of to be is an important question.
Shakespeare uses the simple infinitive of to be , in the opening of the most famous soliloquy in
Hamlet, or perhaps all of Shakespeare, as opposed to the more complex phrase, to live or to die .
Before Hamlet, the speaker of this soliloquy, analyzes all of mankind s reasoning behind the subject of
life, something both painful and long, and death, something both inevitable and muddied in mystery,
he uses the simplest and shortest of infinitives. Seemingly, a simple phrase cannot give justice to some
of the more complex and mysterious questions human nature asks; finding answers to why humans
suffer through life when they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People lose loved ones and are forced to endure sickness and poverty, which are much more prevalent
problems in life, yet Hamlet says that life is painful due to the abuses of superiors, to the insults of the
arrogant, and to the pains of a once sided love. However, when Hamlet lists his problems, he is not
referencing man s universal pains but the pains he feels himself from King Claudius killing his father
and verbally abusing Hamlet and the unrequited love he experiences from a girl named Ophelia. In
this instance, and in every other instance within the play, Hamlet isn t directly acknowledging the
depression he faces, as he only hints at his sorrows, something also seen throughout the play when he
pretends that his madness is part of his act of revenge on King Claudius. So, when Hamlet states that
is ridiculous how people to live a life full of slings and arrows (3.1.64) and when one could simply
take arms against a sea of troubles and die (3.1.67), he is, in actuality contemplating suicide, as he had
referenced the troubles he, himself, faces, making his musings personal, without knowing it. Because
of the fact that Hamlet never validates his emotions outright, it causes him to have unanswered
questions about his feelings, and, as a result, it leads to the

The Theme Of Freedom In Sorry For Your Loss By Bridget Keehan
Life can change in an instant; one moment you are a free bird flying high and in the next you live in a
cage surrounded by darkness. Some people say that freedom is one of the biggest lib erties of man, but
what happens when all that is taken away. The importance of freedom and how quickly things can
change are the central themes in the short story Sorry for your Loss written by Bridget Keehan in
2008, where the author paints a picture of a life without free dom.
A third person narrator tells the story, the point of view being the chaplain Evie. The fact that Evie is
the one, who tells the story, has a significant effect, because it is through her eyes that we experience
everything. Therefore her thoughts and feelings affect the opinion ... Show more content on

It is not easy, and sometimes not even praying is enough to make it all better. So even though you
might wish everyone were as innocent as they seemed, you need to face the reality that life is not a

Gst Reform Case Study
The Grattan Institute s proposal to broaden the base and increase the rate of the goods and services tax
(GST) is rooted in principles of economic rationalism that fail to sufficiently consider political and
pragmatic concerns. Comprehending the manner in which policy networks in Australia have evolved
in recent decades is crucial towards placing the Grattan Institute s role into context as the
identification of key actors and political groups in this debate otherwise would be opaque. Issues of
constitutionality and political controversy naturally arise when considering this far reaching reform
due to pressures that the GST impose on the very essence of federalism and power in Australia. The
advantages of reforming the GST are largely derived ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The heuristic and iterative approach of the policy cycle suggests that proposals to amend the GST
appear to be languishing during its early phases. Of the eight distinct segments that comprise the
policy cycle, it seems that the government has so far only progressed through the first four: the
identification of the issue, policy analysis, policy instruments, and consultation. The government has
certainly advanced to at least the second stage of the policy cycle as the Department of the Treasury
(2016, p. 1) has publicly released economic modelling asserting [a] tax mix switch involving income
tax cuts and increasing the GST to 15 per cent would deliver negligible GDP gains. Whilst it is
debateable as to whether the government can be considered as having entered the consultation phase,
the presence of numerous public comments on GST reform by Liberal Party Members of Parliament
indicates that the party room has likely discussed the topic in at least a peripheral sense. However, the
policy cycle does possess serious limitations that detract from its ability to serve as an effective prism
through which to judge government movement on the GST. A powerful criticism of the cycle is that it
ignores the role that non ministerial, non major party parliamentarians play in shaping the course of
public policy,

him re marrying multiple times, but his marriage to Anastasia was considered the happiest. After her
death, he became depressed and erratic. He suspected a boyar, a member of the old aristocracy in

The Death Penalty is wrong!! Imagine Sierrah coming to court and hearing the judge say she is

day of execution comes. The guard comes up to cell twenty eight and says it s time to go and takes her
to the death house. She gets the last meal and says final goodbyes before being strapped to a gurney
and asked to say her very last words. Family slowly watches her die and soon they take the body to

Inmates are executed by lethal injection which is a combination of drugs. Sodium thiopental was
chosen to render the person deeply unconscious. Pancuronium bromide, which causes the person to
lose the ability to breathe. The potassium chloride is extremely deadly because it stops the heart.
Capital punishment is still legal in 31 US states but as the drugs needed for execution get harder to
come by, states are getting creative ( How America Executes Its Prisoners 1). Seventeen have executed
260 inmates three states Texas, Florida and Georgia account for more than half of those . ( How
America Executes Its Prisoners. 1). The US began to turn to a one drug method and this has caused a
major lawsuit. In 2014, Tennessee said that when the drugs for can t be found then the state can use
the electric chair. Utah has went back to using the firing squad and Arkansas plans to kill 8 men before
they run out of drugs ( How America Executes Its Prisoners. 2). There has been a halt on executions
but many states are appealing to reinstate the death penalty. Texas has done the most executions than
any other state. The death penalty is an enormous problem in America because innocent people are
being put to death. When the courts find out that a person is innocent it s too late because he s already
dead. The death penalty also cost tax payers a lot of money and are paying for the prisoner to be
housed, fed, and security. Tax payers often pay for the drugs to

Characteristics Of Modern Christianity
1. A Unique and Important Practice in Modern Christianity
There are many Christian practices, all of the diversified importance to the lives of the believers of the
faith. These variegated practices are what differentiates Christians from people of other faiths, and
gives them autonomy. According to Craig Dykstra, Christian practices are not activities we do to make
something spiritual happen in our lives. Nor are they duties we undertake to be obedient to God.
Rather, they are patterns of communal action that create openings in our lives where the grace, mercy,
and presence of God may be made known to us (Spiritual Practices, n.d., p. 1).
Therefore, Christian practices are the daily engagements that believers of the faith undertake in line
with what is expected of them. This paper will discuss fasting as a practice in modern Christianity that
is unique and important to the faith of believers and will provide a summary describing fasting, how it
developed, and why it is significant in the lives of at least some contemporary Christians. In addition,
this paper will also discuss Evangelicalism as a movement within Christianity which started within the
past 200 years, having distinctive beliefs, and impact on modern and contemporary Christianity
(Christendom).
One practice in modern Christianity that is unique is fasting (Colbert, 2006). Often, fasting is related
to a person lacking or rather, doing without food, however, this is not the case. Through

  • 3. Reflection On Pleasures And Wisdom Ecclesiastes 2:1 26 says that pleasures and wisdom are meaningless, because everything is meaningless without Christ in our lives. Solomon tried to pursue fulfillment through pleasure, wealth, and fame. He was letting his own interests control him, not doing what God has planned for him. Using only our human wisdom wouldn t get us far in life; we would only come across more obstacles that we can t overcome on our own. Without God s guidance and wisdom, we would live an interest centered life that only fulfills our personal interests, unlike a Christ centered life. In a Christ centered life, we put our faith in God and trust that He knows what is best for us, and therefore do everything according to His plan. Solomon felt that pleasure, wisdom, folly, foil, and everything is meaningless because he didn t put God first. He put his interests first and could only fulfill his As he attempted to draw satisfaction purely out of his pleasure, he realized that without God nothing can be fulfilled, and experienced many obstacles on his way. Through the parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14 30, we learn that we should not be lazy, because God created us to work for Him and serve wholeheartedly. Unlike the third steward, we need to work to fulfill God s plan for us and serve God with all our hearts. What matters the most is that we need to have full commitment to being faithful and wise stewards to God, and doing what He has planned for us before we were even born. Talents are the ... • 4. Rise Of The Robots Analysis Essay 3: Rise of the Robots In Mr. Martin Ford s Rise of the Robots, the author argues that the economic future is in danger due to technology overtaking the workforce. As technology becomes smarter, they have taken over the jobs that humans have previously done. However, it is not just simple tasks, but intricate tasks that require multiple steps, such as brain surgery. Mr. Ford presents a valid argument of that at the rate that technology is progressing, it will probably only be a few decades before robotics overtake the workforce. Mr. Ford s main argument is that coming technology will have a profound impact on our economics. Even today, we have automated robots doing tasks that, formally, humans couldn t preform with such accuracy, such as self driving cars and even surgeries. Robots are able to assemble other robots via the assembly lines. Increasingly, technology is advancing faster than humans in discovering ways to complete tasks. Technology is becoming exponentially better at writing its own programing, raising the question why could they not overtake all jobs currently performed by humans. Surgery is a major example of how robots have surpassed the human capabilities, being able to complete the procedure with minimal invasiveness. It is already unique enough for a robot to assemble a washing machine, per say, but now they are able to perform tasks that humans cannot even complete. More sophisticated robots are referred to as artificial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then review the location, Climate and Terroir, and Grapes that rank the wines as among the best in the world. To conclude, look into the future of each region to analyze prospects for continued success. The history of Bordeaux Wine The history of the Bordeaux wine region dates back to the ancient Romans who were the first people to cultivate, plant vineyards and produce Bordeaux wine. The Romans took over the area in about 60 BC, and it was starting to earn fame for its wines as far back as in 1152 when Henry of England wed Eleanor of Aquitaine, who controlled the region. The Bordeaux appellation was perfect for cultivating grapes for wine. It offered the unique combination of the right soil for growing grapes used in the production of wine coupled with easy access to the Garonne river, which was needed to help ship the wines. Because after a series of attacks on the city in 1206, greater freedom was granted, so it lead to the 12th century became the start of Bordeaux s golden age. Over the centuries winemakers of the region have mastered both the art of blending and have learnt to work with Bordeaux s unique climate and terrain to produce a wide diversity of reds, whites and roses all ... He spent an abundance of time carefully crafting each of his important characters for a specific reason. The movie Avatar has certain themes that James Cameron wants to get the audience to see, and he uses the characters to bring the themes trough. Neytiri is one of those characters so essential to the development of the story. Mr. Cameron made Neytiri a dynamic, motivated, and major character. James made Neytiri a single minded character so she would be the type of person to teach Jake if it meant helping her family. That is the type of motivation the movie needed to help give it a fire of passion that she brings to the plot. Something else Neytiri did because of her determination is go on with out her father after he was struck by home tree as it was coming down. Cognitive Behavioral Theory Of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Abstract This case conceptualization of Francis discusses the principles of the cognitive behavioral theory that are based on the belief that learning, cognitions, and perceptions play a significant role in the development and maintenance of emotional and behavioral problems. Various CBT models are applied to the diagnostic determinants of Francis dysfunctional behavior and the empirically supported methods of cognitive behavioral treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder are used to build a treatment plan to aid in Francis recovery. Cognitive Behavioral Case Conceptualization of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Presenting Problems Francis, a married, Caucasian male, requested psychological assessment for thoughts that he describes as recurrent, automatic ideations of dangerous occurrences befalling his wife and daughter when he is not present, and therefore, cannot save them. Francis explained that he is fully aware that his family is not in danger, that his thoughts are not based on reality, and he describes these thoughts as silly. He explained that his concerns are temporarily abated when he contacts his wife for confirmation that they are safe. That s the case in Daniel Chacon s story The Biggest City in the World . It is a story about Harvey Gomez who is a Mexican American young man whose grandparents migrated to the Unites States from Mexico. Harvey has only been to Mexico once in his entire life and neither of his parents has ever been there before. Therefore he doesn t know anything about his native culture or language. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poem Finding Home written by Carolina Hospital tells the story of how Mexicans who come to America try to find their heritage in the United States. Like many who migrate to America, the immigrants miss their country and are concerned about losing their culture. In contrast to Harvey Gomez, this poem shows that many Mexicans in America appreciate their heritage. I have travelled north again,/to these gray skies/and empty doorways, (Hospital 101). This shows that they miss their native country and are concerned about forgetting their heritage. Perhaps Harvey s grandparents thought the same thing when they first came to America from Mexico. Regardless of their arrival in America, they want to return to Mexico someday. I must travel again soon (Hospital 102). Despite leaving their native land they have respect for Mexico and will visit again. After the experience that Harvey had in discovering his heritage, I am sure that he will visit Mexico again. Daniel Chacon is clearly making a statement that Mexican immigrants whose kids are born and raised in America forget their own culture. In the story Harvey Gomez is denying his heritage and was embarrassed at times to admit that he is Mexican. This is because he barely knows anything about Mexico and doesn t even speak the language. Eventually Harvey accepts who he is and discovers his heritage throughout the story. I believe that Chacon wants to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Santo Spirito Technique As artistic styles and techniques developed during the Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo periods, they became increasingly reliant on scientific knowledge and experimentation. Two of the major factors of this trend were the continuing improvements in the understanding of human anatomy, and a well documented understanding of the geometry of linear perspective. Examples for each period will be discussed in relation to these scientific achievements. During the Renaissance, in the year 1420, Brunelleschi completed an experiment which allowed him to properly depict three dimensional space on a flat plane. The result of this experiment was The Elevation of Santo Spirito in which he presented an accurate rendering of how an architectural project he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Fritz Lang M Film Techniques The film M by Fritz Lang (1931) is a timeless masterpiece that not only reflects the fear and distrust present in German society after WWI, but also uses sound in ways it had never been used befor. M was made during a time of paranoia in Germany, set against the backdrop of a rapidly deteriorating Weimar Republic. The country was in the midst of heightened poverty due to unemployment and increasing criminal activity after the stock market crash of 1929. It was also a time where psychopathic serial killers were at large in German cities. In the film, the panic felt by the townspeople to try and catch the murderer, and the paranoia that it could be anyone among them, is reflective of the fearful emotions felt by the German people during the early 1930s. The use of high camera angles show the vulnerability and innocence of the children, the murderer s victims. The use of shadows and reflections show that the murderer has two sides, and it is because of these two varying characters that he can walk amongst society unknown for what he is. For example, when the townspeople see a man telling a little girl what time it is, they immediately assume he must be the murderer. Because of their paranoia, they jump to conclusions, ... Used by program evaluators and managers in assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of a specific program used for almost twenty years, the Logic Model involves on giving descriptions regarding the relationship of the inputs, program resources, outputs, and outcomes in addressing a specific problem or situation. Failure Doesn T Come From Falling Down By Francisca Cardenas Francisca Cardenas November 20, 2015 It s really difficult to find success there s many obstacles that cross our paths and most end up defeating us. Some people decide to give up or for others graduating high school is their own success. Everyone has different perspectives of what success is or means to them. In my opinion success is when you re content with the goals you ve accomplish or have yet to achieve. If you ve achieved your goals then you have succeeded. Even if it s the simplest thing, to another person that shouldn t matter because your success will please you and not others. While preceding your goal in life, there will be a lot of people who will try to belittle you in every way they can but like its once was said, Some people don t like you because your strength reminds them of their weakness. However, not all of the worlds problems can be solved directly through experiments and equations. Philosophy and theories are sometimes accepted as truth because there is no other explanation for a mind boggling questions. Some philosophers or Scientists were even deemed blasphemous through their beliefs or teachings. To resolve this, he decides to discard all his former beliefs and conceptions, reconstruct his knowledge, and only acknowledging information as true only if the statements are unquestionably true. He believed that he could be dreaming and at any moment wake up. Darwin also had to accept Rene Descartes beliefs in some perspective as well. Charles Darwin, as mentioned above, was also raised in a religious home and before his discoveries, he was also a man of God. Though, as his discoveries overtook his religious perspective, he leaned more towards the scientific side of things and began to reject his previous beliefs. Thus, he had to, somewhat, also take everything that he had thought before as false, unless factual truth could prove otherwise. Only then could he take in his findings as truth, which he did so. Colonization Of The New World s Mission Colonization is the act of setting up a colony away from one s place of origin (Colonization, 2015) .The history of the colonization of Massachusetts and Georgia is very interesting both of these two colonies were founded under basically the same premises which were seeking a better life. However, there are some similarities and differences that are evident. The founders of the New World s mission were freedom. However, their number reasoning was spiritual freedom. They were tired of the Church of England. Pilgrims and Puritans sought to recreate society in the manner they believed God truly intended it to be designed (Kennedy, Cohen, Bailey, 2009). England s success at colonizing was due in large part to its use of contact or (charter) companies. Charter companies were groups of shareholders who were seek personal financial wealth. Because the colonies were so slow to make profits in the beginning, the charter companies would leave the colonists to build their own lives, their own communities, and their own economy, to start building the fundamentals of a new nation. There were three main premises for the foundation of the New World. The three main reasons were religion, economics, and government. For those three main reasons, colonist search to find a place full of economic opportunities and religious freedom. • 17. The Resilience Of Energy Supply Chain INTRODUCTION In the era of globalisation supply chains are getting more lengthy and complex hence they are now more vulnerable to disruptions. The resilience of energy supply chain by Luca Urciuoli, Sangeeta Mohanty, Juha Hintsa and Else Gerine Boekesteijn Accepted on 24 September,2013 takes in account how various companies take preventions against supply chain disruptions or security threats and how they manage their supply chain in case a disruption occurs, it also exchanges views on European union support mechanisms and interactions with the oil and gas companies along with the improvements that can be made by the union in order to make supply chains more robust . For example, in Baji a major oil refinery was set on fire by ISIS forces who were controlling this refinery in the past. This oil refinery was one o the major oil production companies in the country. In such cases small safety stocks will finish in a few days, so only keeping reserve stocks may not be the solution . World s 60 percent oil reserves are in middle east where these types of incidents occur (Critchlow, 2015).Deciding the perfect amount of safety stock is very critical and depends on various factors like company sales ,forecasts and transportation risks. In case of natural disaster or a major disruptions various strategies can be used to prevent loses. As the article suggests alternate product design can be used in case of disruption ,this approach is practical and was used by many companies in the past. Still they were compelled to move from their property (land), which was done in a fierce way, which had been theirs for quite a long time and hundreds of years. This excursion of evacuation was known as the Trail of Tears, and this paper will demonstrate the impacts this moved had on the Cherokee individuals. It will let you know how they lived before they were compel to moved, clarify the occasions that prompted to their evacuation, states of their travel, and what happen to the Cherokee individuals after the Trail of tears. The local individuals of North America lived in peace for a long time. Nevertheless the lives of the Native America came to a shocking stop in 1540. This was the year that Hernando De Soto came into contact with the local individuals of North American. The locals, known as Indians, would interact with pioneers from around the globe that need their property for themselves or their nation. The local would inevitably embrace a portion of the outsiders ways. They would even venture to battle in a portion of the pioneer wars. This was demonstrated not to be a smart thought for them on the grounds that in the event that they were on the losing side, the outcomes were the lost of their property. Through the nineteenth century around one hundred thousand Indians were compel to move westbound far from their territory. There were five Indian tribes that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Arguments Against Statutory Rape Statutory Rape Discussion Statutory rape is not an easy term to define. It seems that the definition would be simple and would include someone older having sex with someone younger than the legal age. That leads us to what is the legal age? What difference in age is acceptable? Is it really the age of the person that dictates whether or not an individual is capable of making rational decisions about having intercourse? Are there special circumstances when using the term? Mitchell Rogers (2003) stated that part of the struggle with the reporting of sexual abuse is because of the confusion over the legal definitions of the acts and how to differentiate one from another. This confusion may also be contributing to the reports of sexual abuse because not all mandated reporters are clear on the definitions, but they know what is happening with the child is not right. When this happens and the wrong term is used for the allegations, the investigation, in part, could be dismissed because it doesn t fit that state s criteria for what was reported. Individual states build their definitions of child sexual abuse from a minimal definition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Iowa defines statutory rape as sexual abuse. However, there was something very different about one bag that separated it from all of the others. My mom asked me to unload the items and organize them into their awaiting shelves. Their contents contained typical groceries such as cereal, some new herbal teas, and a fresh bottle of dish detergent. But, this special bag carried a large Yankee candle encased in glass and embellished with a large sticker reading Christmas Cookie . On the label a petite tree shaped sugar cookie sat on a plate. Immediately, I smiled because cookie scented candles are my absolute favorite. I rushed to the second drawer of the kitchen island and pulled out the lighter and instantaneously ignited the wick. As I watched the flame blossom with satisfaction, I was suddenly punched in the face by nostalgia. The warm, comforting and sweet smell of that candle had somehow transported me back to christmas a few years ago. I was a joyful, little third grader. In March of that year, he sent to the Annalen der Physik, the leading German physics journal, a paper with a new understanding of the structure of light. He argued that light acts as though is consists of independent particles of energy. Einstein built on Max Planck s work and went beyond this. He showed that light quanta could help to explain phenomena being studied by experimental physicists; he made clear how light ejects electrons from metals. In May of 1905, Einstein submitted another paper that reinforced the kinetic energy theory. His Special Theory of Relativity was born; Einstein submitted yet another paper in June of 1905 on electromagnetism and motion. Since Galileo and Newton, physicists had known that laboratory experiments never revealed a difference between an object at rest and an object moving at a constant speed along a straight line. Objects behave the same way on a uniformly moving ship as they do on an anchored ship; this is the Principle of Relativity. However, according to the electromagnetic theory, light should not obey this principle. This theory predicted that measurements on velociy of light would show the effects of motion. Yet, no such effect had been detected in any experiments the velocity of light did not vary. Einstein found a way to show that the Principle of Relativity was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. Parallelism In Grapes Of Wrath Lydia Aremu Kleyn AP Literature/period 6 August 2017 Renewal in The Grapes of Wrath John Steinbeck usually uses California and the Salinas valley as his setting and is usually placed in the 30s when the great depression occurred. The Grapes of Wrath is about a family living in Oklahoma and they are farmers during the period called the dustbowl in which culture was rough because there were droughts and conditions were not suitable for farming. This family, because they are not doing too well, decide to move to California to find jobs and dignity. The author writes about the struggle of a family during and Great Depression and also the struggle of each individual as their lives are being torn apart. He not only shows how they go through these hardships, but also how they will overcome them. In John Steinbeck s novel, The Grapes of Wrath, he argues that all who follow the ways of the Bible will become renewed at the end. He uses religion and parallelism in order to bring to light, the chance of hope that is evident within dire circumstances, and project changes within people during turmoil. The Grapes of Wrath incorporates parallels between both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Steinbeck uses biblical symbols from the book Exodus to tell the story of the Joad family s journey to California. The Dust Bowl, which is the reason they are leaving Oklahoma, is a representation of the plague. Another symbol used in this novel is Noah s Ark. This represents the truck they used ... • 25. William Shakespeare s Hamlet Essay To be or not to be (3.1.64) not whether to live or to die, but the use of to be is an important question. Shakespeare uses the simple infinitive of to be , in the opening of the most famous soliloquy in Hamlet, or perhaps all of Shakespeare, as opposed to the more complex phrase, to live or to die . Before Hamlet, the speaker of this soliloquy, analyzes all of mankind s reasoning behind the subject of life, something both painful and long, and death, something both inevitable and muddied in mystery, he uses the simplest and shortest of infinitives. Seemingly, a simple phrase cannot give justice to some of the more complex and mysterious questions human nature asks; finding answers to why humans suffer through life when they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People lose loved ones and are forced to endure sickness and poverty, which are much more prevalent problems in life, yet Hamlet says that life is painful due to the abuses of superiors, to the insults of the arrogant, and to the pains of a once sided love. However, when Hamlet lists his problems, he is not referencing man s universal pains but the pains he feels himself from King Claudius killing his father and verbally abusing Hamlet and the unrequited love he experiences from a girl named Ophelia. In this instance, and in every other instance within the play, Hamlet isn t directly acknowledging the depression he faces, as he only hints at his sorrows, something also seen throughout the play when he pretends that his madness is part of his act of revenge on King Claudius. So, when Hamlet states that is ridiculous how people to live a life full of slings and arrows (3.1.64) and when one could simply take arms against a sea of troubles and die (3.1.67), he is, in actuality contemplating suicide, as he had referenced the troubles he, himself, faces, making his musings personal, without knowing it. Because of the fact that Hamlet never validates his emotions outright, it causes him to have unanswered questions about his feelings, and, as a result, it leads to the ... Gst Reform Case Study The Grattan Institute s proposal to broaden the base and increase the rate of the goods and services tax (GST) is rooted in principles of economic rationalism that fail to sufficiently consider political and pragmatic concerns. Comprehending the manner in which policy networks in Australia have evolved in recent decades is crucial towards placing the Grattan Institute s role into context as the identification of key actors and political groups in this debate otherwise would be opaque. Issues of constitutionality and political controversy naturally arise when considering this far reaching reform due to pressures that the GST impose on the very essence of federalism and power in Australia. The heuristic and iterative approach of the policy cycle suggests that proposals to amend the GST appear to be languishing during its early phases. Of the eight distinct segments that comprise the policy cycle, it seems that the government has so far only progressed through the first four: the identification of the issue, policy analysis, policy instruments, and consultation. The government has certainly advanced to at least the second stage of the policy cycle as the Department of the Treasury (2016, p. 1) has publicly released economic modelling asserting [a] tax mix switch involving income tax cuts and increasing the GST to 15 per cent would deliver negligible GDP gains. Whilst it is debateable as to whether the government can be considered as having entered the consultation phase, the presence of numerous public comments on GST reform by Liberal Party Members of Parliament indicates that the party room has likely discussed the topic in at least a peripheral sense. However, the policy cycle does possess serious limitations that detract from its ability to serve as an effective prism through which to judge government movement on the GST. A powerful criticism of the cycle is that it ignores the role that non ministerial, non major party parliamentarians play in shaping the course of public policy, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. Characteristics Of Modern Christianity 1. A Unique and Important Practice in Modern Christianity There are many Christian practices, all of the diversified importance to the lives of the believers of the faith. These variegated practices are what differentiates Christians from people of other faiths, and gives them autonomy. According to Craig Dykstra, Christian practices are not activities we do to make something spiritual happen in our lives. Nor are they duties we undertake to be obedient to God. Rather, they are patterns of communal action that create openings in our lives where the grace, mercy, and presence of God may be made known to us (Spiritual Practices, n.d., p. 1). Therefore, Christian practices are the daily engagements that believers of the faith undertake in line with what is expected of them. This paper will discuss fasting as a practice in modern Christianity that is unique and important to the faith of believers and will provide a summary describing fasting, how it developed, and why it is significant in the lives of at least some contemporary Christians. In addition, this paper will also discuss Evangelicalism as a movement within Christianity which started within the past 200 years, having distinctive beliefs, and impact on modern and contemporary Christianity (Christendom). One practice in modern Christianity that is unique is fasting (Colbert, 2006). Often, fasting is related to a person lacking or rather, doing without food, however, this is not the case. Through ...
