Description Of The Vehicle Tracking System
Transportation act as important part in our life, the people can be connected from place to place but it
is still complicated to track the vehicle. (Sumit et Ajila,2015)
The first implementation for vehicle tracking system was in the shipping industry because it is a vital
need to know where each vessel was at any given time. These days, however, with different types of
technology growing at a wide space, tracking and display vehicle locations in real time uses
automated vehicle tracking system. (SeokJu et all,2014)
The vehicle tracking system is very useful in tracking and management for fleet. It is the technology
used to determine the location of a vehicle using different methods like GPS and other navigation
systems operating which uses satellites and ground based stations. Modern vehicle tracking systems
use GPS technology to locate and keep monitoring our vehicle anywhere on earth, but sometimes
using different types of automatic vehicle location technology are still another option. The vehicle
tracking system is fixed inside the car and gives location of the car in real time and the data can even
be downloaded in a computer which can be used for making analysis in future as it can be viewed on
electronic maps through internet and software. The device contains modern hardware and software
components that help in tracking and locating vehicles in both online and offline mode. A tracking
system comprises of mainly three parts unit in vehicle, fixed based station and

Feasibility Study For A Business
Undertaking a feasibility study for a start up business or for any project that required investment
would not be a waste of effort, even, if eventually the business idea becomes irrelevant. The business
feasibility study always explores the potential viability of a business idea for entrepreneurs as an
informed process on how to go about the business idea. Ultimately, cost and value of the products or
services are often used as criteria to validate the feasibility study activities. Peeters (2013) described
business feasibility study as an assessment of the practicality of a proposed business idea, plan or

A Brief Note On The Second World War
Project HERS
The Second World War began four years ago, with Adolf Hitler s Holocaust starting but two years into
it. Under his regime, anti Semitism was and still is the law no man, woman, and child of lesser Aryan
blood can live, and his reasons for the persecution of such people are still widely debated. However,
there is a possible solution: Sigmund Freud and his theories. One of his theories suggests a division of
the human psyche into three parts: the superego, ego, and id. These Freudian terms and their functions
form the basis of the project HERS.
To understand HERS, you must be acquainted with a condition linked directly to it, Dissociative
Identity Disorder. DID is present and latent in every individual from the day they are ... Show more

To make a moot point, it is even debatable whether HERS is a hereditary condition or not.
The only other explanation for Hitler s reasons behind the Holocaust, other than the stab in the back
myth , is that he is a HERS acting under the influence of his id. Where there is dislike and revulsion,
the id fans the flames into those of hatred. Where there is pride, the id makes it unquenchable and
unreasonable. To win this war, the Allies need to break one of the links in the Axis military alliance
Germany and its dictator, Adolf Hitler.

All that was planned came to fruition today. The village of Imber on the Salisbury Plain was evacuated
yesterday to be used as a training site for the British. The children, still in their seats when the
evacuation was conducted, were swept away to Palmyra Atoll as planned. All of the inhabitants had
been evacuated a year ago due to the war, and any traces of civilization were easily erased. It was the
ideal setting for Project HERS, in not only its isolative setting, but the surroundings. With some
coconut palm trees and a drift of pigs as sustenance, the boys would be forced to be conservative in
their use of their environment.
The eighteen boys chosen had latent DID switches from what was observed so far through their
profiles. However, there were three possible methods in which the DID switch could be awakened.
Possible stimulants were: punishment,

Flint Cragleys Adventure
Get Ready to narrate, Brah! Monzo exclaimed. Monzo turned on the camera. Cragley HO! for all of

week we will be exploring the Flora caves just south of The Downtown of Crag. Where the dangerous

A Report On Passive Solar Architecture
PASSIVE SOLAR ARCHITECTURE INTRODUCTION:1 The last two decade has witnessed a
severe energy crisis in developing countries especially during summer season primarily due to cooling
load requirements of buildings. The energy consumption in buildings is quite high and is expected to
further increase because of improving standards of life and increasing world population. Air
conditioning use has increasingly penetrated the market during the last few years and greatly
contributes in the upsurge of absolute energy consumption. INTRODUCTION 2: Buildings account
for at least 40% of energy use in most countries. The construction sector in India is witnessing a fast
growth due to several factors. Some of the key growth drivers are increased demand for housing,
strong demographic impetus, expansion of organized retail, increased demand for commercial office
spaces by multinationals and IT (information technology) hubs, and coming up of SEZs (special
economic zones). The gross built up area added to commercial and residential spaces was about 40.8
million square metres in 2004/05, which is about 1% of annual average constructed floor area around
the world, and the trend shows a sustained growth of 10% over the coming years. With a near
consistent 8% rise in annual energy consumption in the residential and commercial sectors, energy
consumption in buildings has seen an increase from a low of 14% in the 1970s to nearly 33% in
2004/05. This is directly related to higher greenhouse gas

Public Sentiments Concerning Chinese Immigration Essay
Public Sentiments Concerning Chinese Immigration In 1852, there were over 20,000 Chinese
immigrants living in California (Franks). Americans reacted very negatively to this influx, and their
negative sentiments were made apparent in the California Supreme Court s People v. Hall verdict,
which rendered Chinese testimony unreliable. Then, in 1882, President Chester Arthur signed the
Chinese Exclusion Act, a law that prohibited Chinese laborers from entering the United States (Foner,
651). From the 1850s up to the Exclusion Act of 1882, Americans felt increasingly negative
sentiments towards the Chinese. As illustrated through newspaper and magazine depictions along the
Pacific Coast, the Americans perceived the Chinese as inferior and ... Show more content on

The scenery is drawn with many dark shades on the walls and floor, depicting it as an alley or a
similarly secluded location. Here, the Chinese man partakes in his devious acts, away from the public
eye. This sets a dark, mischievous tone, and in the drawing the little boy is smoking a cigar,
presumably as a result of the Chinese man s negative influence. The little boy is underage and is
engaging in immoral behavior. The Chinese man has corrupted him simply through association, and
by smoking a cigar at his age he has been corrupted. This depiction shows the underlying perception
that the Chinese were an infestation that were negatively influencing and corrupting the population.
This perception of the Chinese as a menace is also apparent in the image Amusing the Child from The
Wasp. This picture depicts the Chinese man as a diabolical creature: He crawls around on four legs
like a dog, and has large scaly hands with sharp, thin nails. The Chinese man wears tattered clothing
and from behind, a long, red devil s tale extends from his body. Also, the image has two Americans
sitting on chairs: Sitting in the left chair is President Chester Arthur and in the right chair is a baby,
which represents the Pacific Coast. The Chinese man s appearance not only degrades him, but also
establishes the view that the Chinese

Integrative approaches to psychology and Christianity
Summary
Enwistle s book, Integrative approaches to psychology and Christianity: An introduction to worldview
issues, philosophical foundations, and models of integration (2010) is a text that explores integrating
psychology and Christianity. We start out by learning about integration related to both psychology and
Christianity. Is this a thing? Is integration between these two subjects a subject itself? Enwistle
explores through time to reveal how psychology and Christianity have been both closely studied and
intertwined throughout time. Enwistle (2010) defines Christian psychology as a commitment to a
Christian worldview that shapes how psychology is studied and applies, and that recognizes that there
are specific Christian resources that uniquely reveal crucial aspects of what it means to be human (p.
14). Those in the psychology or counseling field who are also Christian have unique and different
approaches but they draw from both Christianity and psychology to help them succeed.

were in awe of it (p.94). He goes on to talk about how science plays a big role in the world today to
make sense of things like what we view to be beautiful in nature. The concept made more sense

Fraser River Gold Rush
In the early immigration, the Fraser River gold rush is perhaps the largest event. It was an overall
positive event, and the Chinese were a large part of the business of the time. They were
entrepreneurial and established themselves selling things that were important to the miners, importing
goods, growing food, and building infrastructure. Stores similar to the Wong Toy Co. one would ve

similar to other anti Chinese taxes throughout the world. This was a major step backwards in Chinese

The Human Immunodeficiency Virus ( Hiv )
The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is an immune system disorder that can be contracted
through sexual activity as well as other types of contact. (Healthy Living, pg. 79) If left untreated this
virus can turn into AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). AIDS is the final stage of the
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). (aids.gov) AIDS is an incurable progressive disease that
causes gradual destruction of CD4 T cells by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). (Diseases,
pg. 431) A healthy adult has a CD4 T cell count of 1,000 or more but a person suffering from HIV
could have a count lower than 200. CD4 T cells are crucial to the immune system; without them the
immune system would not have the ability to fight off infections. One of the disquieting facts about
AIDS is that the infected person may be asymptomatic for years. If the infected person does begin to

was not for its large number of women nurses, but for the first 18 African American women that were

The Effects Of Social Anxiety On Higher Education
To begin we take a look at two studies that were done on college students and the effects of social
anxiety in higher education, researchers were able to conclude that social anxiety does have an impact
on the wellbeing and success of students in each study. In our first study, students from Sydney,
Australia, were accessed using many psychological tests, scales, and inventories to obtain scores for
accurate study. The topic of the study is Impairments in Goal directed actions that predict treatment
response to cognitive behavioral therapy in social anxiety. The participants who were involved gave
written consent to be a part of this study, and those who were on medications were properly stabilized
before participation began. This study involved showing participants fractal images of food as a
reward to measure goal directed actions in predicting treatment response to cognitive behavioral
therapy (Alvares, G. A., Balleine, B. W., Guastella, A. J. (2014). Anxiety has been argued to be related
to an inability to process rewarding information appropriately to guide actions (Alvares, et. al, 2014)
and changes in outcome values (Alvares, et.al, 2014). The results found that those who had a social
anxiety disorder showed higher impairments in goal directed action that predicted poorer response to
treatment (Alvares, et.al, 2014). The participants were given a test of how much a reward affected the
outcome of goal directed actions. Those who kept responding even after

Persuasive Essay On Parents At Home With Your Senior
The advice I am about to give you parents is priceless. It might fix any conflicts that may occur at
home with your senior. You need to listen carefully. Take notes. Lots of notes. Everyone knows that
you want be that parent with the honor student. You know, the one that drives around with that sticker
on their mini van. Don t deny it. Well, as a fellow senior, ill give you the key to making your child
good enough to brag to all your friends about. All parents care about their child s GPA ... am I right?
when approaching the seriousness of GPA with your senior you need to lay down the rules. Make sure
that you turn your beautiful house into a prison of sorts. Your child needs to be told that they can not
leave the house at any point in time (except for school) unless their GPA is well above a 4.0. I mean an
average GPA is obviously not acceptable. While your senior might get angry at this, explain to them
over and over that you just care about their future. Making your child sit in a room for hours doing
unnecessary busy work will most definitely make them the star student you have always dreamed of
parenting. Remember, no friends and/or social life is the best for your child. Grades are the only thing
that matter. Technology is a huge part of students lives nowadays. Especially seniors. They have
basically grown up in the era of new technology. Thats if you have let them have any. Remember that
technology has completely ruined your senior and that you need to remove all

a) w= £62,500
U= √w
50% chance of medical problem
Costs of £4,900 We can derive this individual s expected wealth if we multiply the probability of each
outcome with the associated costs.
E(w) = 0.5 * £62,500 + 0.5 * (£62,500 £4,900)
E(w) = 0.5 * £62,500 + 0.5 * £57,600
E(w) = £60,050 To find out what level of utility will this individual s expected wealth yield, we simply
have to put the value of the E(w) in the utility equation. We know U= √w, so in our case U(E(w)) =
√(E(w)) U(E(w)) = √60,050  U(E(w)) ≈ 245.051 To compute this individual s expected utility, we
follow the exact same procedure as in point i), but this time for utility. So, we first ... Show more

Not only will he be willing to purchase insurance, but he may also want to pay above the actuarially
fair price, just to avoid additional expenses in case of sickness. The original risky gamble (in the
absence of insurance) would leave him with an expected utility of 245, as shown in point iii) this is the
minimum utility this individual is willing to go to. That is, he will be willing to pay an amount of
money that will leave him with a certain utility equal to the expected utility of the original gamble
245. This utility is associated with a wealth of 2452 = £60,025. So the maximum amount he is willing
to pay for insurance is £62,500 £60,025 = £2,475 . Anything above this price would leave him with a
certain utility lower than the expected one. This is illustrated in the graph, by the red arrow.

Moral Hazard: Moral hazard is one of the market failures that occurs mostly in insurance markets.
When consumers purchase insurance, and therefore, do not pay for the full price of health care health
care becomes relatively cheaper for them. Thus, consumers demand more health care than they would
do in the absence of insurance a phenomena regarded as moral hazard. It only occurs under the
assumption that the demand for some types of health care is elastic and therefore responsive to price
changes.

probability that he/she will have a car accident which

symbol in a different way. Aside from character symbols, there is overall symbolism in this play. It is
set in a memory, so it creates a soft, dream like setting. This lends to the whole idea behind the play
that the characters are unable to function in reality. None of the characters are capable of living in the
present. All of the characters retreat into their separate worlds to ... Show more content on

Now it is like all of the other horses. The unicorn losing its horn is a symbol. The unicorn in its
original state symbolizes something different. It is delicate, beautiful, and precious in it s own unique
way. This could symbolize Laura has natural beauty in an unearthly way that is hidden by her shyness
and limp.
When Laura starts to talk to Jim, she gets more confidence in herself and realizes that she is not that
different from everyone else in the world. The horn symbolizes a difference, an obstacle to be
overcome and admired. (Ross) Like Laura has to overcome her shyness and limp to become like
everyone else, the unicorn loses its difference.
The fire escape is a major symbol in this play. It represents a different symbol for each character. For
Amanda, the fire escape is a way for her to be protected from the outside world, or reality. She cannot
live in the present, and the lack of a front door makes it easy for her to avoid real life. She convinces
herself that she isn t capable of leaving the safe haven she has created by locking herself inside the
strange apartment. She has become trapped by her memories.
Laura uses the fire escape as a symbol in a similar way. She, too, is protected from the outside world
by the fire escape, and she is also limited by it because of her handicap. It will require an extra effort
for Laura to overcome her limp and get out into the world using the fire escape, symbolizing how

A Report On The Company s Welcome Back At Underwriting A...
Welcome back. Last week we looked at underwriting a $250K high yield transaction through the eyes
of an independent lessor. Our existing customer, RedBet LLC, had properly paid off two short term
leases with us, leaving us a small exposure on a third lease (total exposure had been $320K). RedBet
is now coming back to finance of $250K in vacuum tank trailers, a sale that is very important to our
preferred vendor. RedBet is an oilfield servicing firm headquartered in New Mexico. We asked, Would
you do this deal? Why or why not?
As much as we appreciate our lessee, we know that it s even more important for us to value our
preferred vendor. With the oil business in decline and our vendor needing to close every sale, this
transaction may make or break our relationship with the vendor (who we think could find another
funding source to do this deal). In spite of the oil industry downturn, we want to retain this vendor
relationship because (a) the vendor is also offering us high quality non oilfield transactions, (b) the
cyclical oil business will eventually come back, (c) this vendor s originations have been very
profitable for us (high yield and excellent performance−so far), (d) we don t have a concentration in
oilfield exposures, and (e) good vendor relationships like this are hard to develop.
In addition, with a yield 17%, the transaction could generate substantial income for us. So instead of
categorically declining this oil industry transaction, we look for a way to get

What Is The Theme Of Charly Movie
The movie charly Directed by Ralph Nelson, is a movie that anyone could enjoy. The main character
in this movie is Charly (Cliff Robertson). The movie was released 1968 and has won many awards
such as Academy award for best actor, Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay, and National Board
of Review Award for Best Actor. My opinion on this movie is that I thought it was a great movie. The
class has read the story about Charly Gordon. We knew some part that were going to happen on the
movie. We wrote all of the main parts in a plot diagram. We wrote when, Charly s friend make fun of
him, When charly falls in love, And when algernon dies. Those are only some of the important parts in
the story and the novel. The main theme about

Effects Of Birth Control On American Women s Lives
Effects of the Birth Control Pill on American Women s Lives
Over the centuries, women have tried a number of methods to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Some of
the pregnancy control measures that existed before the invention of the pill included abstinence and
withdrawal. Unfortunately, such methods often failed to prevent unintended pregnancies. As such,
birth control advocates continued researching for effective birth control methods. Americans did not
meet the idea of birth control methods with enthusiasm. In fact, those who advocated the use of birth
control devices experienced challenges, including being jailed.
In the 1950s, birth control pills were introduced in the United States (Windsor, 2002). Over the past
seven decades, the pill has changed the American women s lives in several ways. The pills have
allowed women to delay marriages, invest in their career development, and secure well paid jobs in
areas that were previously dominated by men. The pill has also improved family relationships and
prevented abuse and marriage dissolutions. This paper explores the history of birth control methods in
the US and how the pill became available on a large scale to women. The paper further examines how
the pills has given women the freedom to advance their careers, strengthen the marriage relationships,
and participate in the workforce.
A Brief History of Birth Control Methods Prior to the 3000 BC, women tried various birth control
methods. Some of the common methods included

The Founder Of Psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud Was A...
The founder of Psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud was a physiologist, and medical doctor and a
psychologist. During the span of his research in psychotherapy he was criticized by many who
claimed his research was not science. Although it has been decades and Freud s work has filled many
of today s psychology textbooks, there are contemporary critics who still question the legitimacy of
Freud s scientific work. Sigmund Freud s achievements unlocked the unconscious and developed
modern psychotherapy. Freud s childhood was more than ordinary. The structure of his family may

Freud also mailed small doses of cocaine to Martha affirming the great effects it possessed. Freud was
never addicted to cocaine. His real addiction was his research (Anderson, 2001). His cocaine
experiments ended in disaster when one of his patients died from overdose.
Freud began exploring other methods of therapy including magnetism, where he believed he could use
magnets to move sickness from one side of the brain to another. But none of these techniques were
effective. Then a man named Jean Martin Charcot introduced hypnosis therapy to Freud. This caught
Freud s attention because hypnosis is another way he could unlock and explore the unconscious mind.
Relaxing on the psychiatric couch was the optimal position for a patient to undergo hypnosis. Freud
gained a lot of research about the unconscious through hypnosis therapy. Later, Freud concluded that
the patients sicknesses were not getting better through hypnosis simply because they could not recall
anything from when they were hypnotized.
Freud looked to other methods of psychotherapy and was influenced by a man named Josef Breuer.
Breuer told Freud he had a special case patient, Anna O , who was diagnosed with hysteria. Every
time Anna O talked about her symptoms they would suddenly be suppressed (Anderson, 2001). This
was known as the talking cure. Freud adopted this method in his practices and his

Crisis Intervention Chapter 1 Summary
Chapter 1 discussed the concepts, theories, strategies, and skills needed for crisis intervention. It was
interesting to read about how government agencies like FEMA and the Red Cross have been around
for years; however they really do not focus on intervention from a mental health perspective. The
chapter briefly touched on the Cocoanut Grove fire. After research I learned that it is the deadliest
known night club fire in the world, killing 492 people, and sending 166 to hospitals. I can understand
how it is the benchmark for crisis intervention. How mental health was viewed before the Community
Mental Health Centers Act of 1963 is unbearable. It altered the delivery of mental health services and
made the industry what it is today. One statement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most important thing that I took away from this chapter is the overarching default task of ensuring
safety, safety for the client as well as others and workers. This chapter did a good job on illustrating
equilibrium; however I appreciated it stating that not all individuals had equilibrium before the crisis.
This type of intervention is not too different from counseling because not all clients are ideal or
perfect. This chapter also stressed the importance of assessment. From onset to resolution of the crisis,
assessment is a continuous process. I learned that just because crisis appears on the surface to have
been resolved, it should not be assumed that assessment is no longer

Winnie s Dramatic Story in “Happy Days by Samuel Beckett...
Samuel Beckett s play, Happy Days, portrays a woman, Winnie, buried in the ground, first up to her
waist, then up to her neck, determined to live out her meaningful life. Although her situation is
hopeless because she has no idea how she got there, Winnie trusts that her life is meaningful and truly
believes that there is nothing she can do to change it. Consequently, Winnie focuses on trivial details
to pass each day. Beckett definitely succeeds in making this character s life dramatic by consuming
her life with habits and rituals. Winnie s life is focused around certain details that help her cope with
her anxiety of existence. Beckett shows that internally Winnie is afraid of what cannot be predicted or
controlled and therefore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps an evident way Beckett portrays Winnie s dramatic story is through the variation of the phrase
this will have been a happy day that she repeats throughout the play. Winnie proclaims this only after
Willie acknowledges her existence. Each time Willie ignores her, Winnie s conversation becomes
futile and she starts to get the feeling that her hopes are false because she spends the majority of her
day telling stories and yearning for her husband s response. Her happy days seem to be when she
experiences human interaction. Winnie understands that she talks a lot but she simply talks in hopes to
generate some sort of human response. Winnie is overdramatic when Willie even utters a tiny word
and proclaims that it is truly a happy day for her, once again renewing her hopes of a happy life. She
seems to be a typical dramatic romantic woman who is desperate to keep her relationship with her
husband alive. Winnie even admits, I am not merely talking to myself, that is in the wilderness, a thing
I could never bear to do for any life of time (756). She understands that speaking aloud to no audience
is simply just internal thought and is fearful for that day when she will have nobody to talk to. Winnie
repeats simply gaze before me with compressed lips (756) throughout the play portraying her fear that
one day she will have to resort to staring into space in internal thought only.

Medium Ground Finches
Medium ground finches are one of the 13 species of finches. These finches, the medium ground
finches have large beaks. You can find these finches at Daphne Major, in the center of Galapagos
island. Daphne Major is also located near South America in the South Pacific ocean.
Medium ground finches had small beaks before but changed over time. This was caused because of
evolution and survival of the fittest. When Charles Darwin came onto the island he wondered why
there were many different species of the finches, then he hypothesized that a group of finches might
have came in from South America. Then splitting of the finches and adapting into their environment to
have a better chance of surviving. The finches beaks helped with Darwin thinking

An Exploration Into The Lack Of Female Interest
An Exploration into the Lack of Female Interest in Mathematics and Possible Solutions to the Problem
Introduction
As soon as the suggested topics were revealed, it was obvious to me which topic caught my attention,
Equity in mathematics learning and teaching addressing social issues related to gender, class and
ethnicity . Obviously this topic was too broad a subject for me to research into with any depth so I
began researching into the area which would most interest me. The result was the issue of gender
within learning. I came to this conclusion after finding an interesting article on same sex classes, Can
Single sex Classes in Co educational Schools Enhance the Learning Experiences of Girls and/or
Boys? An Exploration of Pupils Perceptions by Carolyn Jackson. She talks about an experiment with
pupils within a year 7 class, where they are put into single sex classes for mathematics and are
assessed by their test results as well as being interviewed about their opinion and confidence. This
idea instantly grabbed my attention. Therefore I have decided to start my assignment by discussing
how gender affects the learning of mathematics, focussing on secondary school mathematics, and then
continue to analyse whether using same sex classes could be a useful adjustment in today s secondary
schools.
As a mathematician myself I have gone through the educational system and seen the uneven
proportion of boys to girls within mathematics classrooms. As soon as mathematics became

The And Characteristics Of An Organization
The paper is organized into seven sections. First, by defining what an organization is. Second, with a
graph displaying a vision on organizational communication. Third, by defining the key parts that make
up an organization. Fourth, by integrating the parts together through best practices. Fifth, by
examining the nature and characteristics of an intelligent organization s communication. Sixth, by
identifying key strategies to meet the challenges in a technological workplace. In the final seventh
section, by recommendations on how managers can apply this vision.

Knowledge Management is an organization s methodology of making their intellectual assets as fully
functional, or effective as possible. This is a systematic approach organized to enhance understanding.
It s the managing of information in a way that provides an organization with a competitive advantage.
Information Systems can be summed in three words: technology, people, and process. Information
Systems is a group of interrelated components that first start with the technology, which includes:
hardware, software, and infrastructure. People are also included and they are the trained personnel. To
put the system together would be the process, which includes combining the trained personnel to work
together to support decision making and provide a value to an organization.
Organizational Learning has two main parts. First, it is manifested by shared ideas in an organization.
Then the shared ideas are developed into a common meaning by the organization. Organizations learn
by the interaction in a collective setting.
A High Performance Team is a group of people that molds together their skills in order to strengthen
performance results. The group members commit to a common purpose and are in line with one
another to hold themselves accountable to the team s performance.

How can organizational communication address the complex interaction of knowledge management,
information systems, organizational learning, and high performance teams?

  • 5. A Brief Note On The Second World War Project HERS The Second World War began four years ago, with Adolf Hitler s Holocaust starting but two years into it. Under his regime, anti Semitism was and still is the law no man, woman, and child of lesser Aryan blood can live, and his reasons for the persecution of such people are still widely debated. However, there is a possible solution: Sigmund Freud and his theories. One of his theories suggests a division of the human psyche into three parts: the superego, ego, and id. These Freudian terms and their functions form the basis of the project HERS. To understand HERS, you must be acquainted with a condition linked directly to it, Dissociative Identity Disorder. DID is present and latent in every individual from the day they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To make a moot point, it is even debatable whether HERS is a hereditary condition or not. The only other explanation for Hitler s reasons behind the Holocaust, other than the stab in the back myth , is that he is a HERS acting under the influence of his id. Where there is dislike and revulsion, the id fans the flames into those of hatred. Where there is pride, the id makes it unquenchable and unreasonable. To win this war, the Allies need to break one of the links in the Axis military alliance Germany and its dictator, Adolf Hitler. Dr. Foothills Freed, Allies Scientist November 3, 1943 All that was planned came to fruition today. The village of Imber on the Salisbury Plain was evacuated yesterday to be used as a training site for the British. The children, still in their seats when the evacuation was conducted, were swept away to Palmyra Atoll as planned. All of the inhabitants had been evacuated a year ago due to the war, and any traces of civilization were easily erased. It was the ideal setting for Project HERS, in not only its isolative setting, but the surroundings. With some coconut palm trees and a drift of pigs as sustenance, the boys would be forced to be conservative in their use of their environment. The eighteen boys chosen had latent DID switches from what was observed so far through their profiles. However, there were three possible methods in which the DID switch could be awakened. • 7. A Report On Passive Solar Architecture PASSIVE SOLAR ARCHITECTURE INTRODUCTION:1 The last two decade has witnessed a severe energy crisis in developing countries especially during summer season primarily due to cooling load requirements of buildings. The energy consumption in buildings is quite high and is expected to further increase because of improving standards of life and increasing world population. Air conditioning use has increasingly penetrated the market during the last few years and greatly contributes in the upsurge of absolute energy consumption. INTRODUCTION 2: Buildings account for at least 40% of energy use in most countries. The construction sector in India is witnessing a fast growth due to several factors. Some of the key growth drivers are increased demand for housing, strong demographic impetus, expansion of organized retail, increased demand for commercial office spaces by multinationals and IT (information technology) hubs, and coming up of SEZs (special economic zones). The gross built up area added to commercial and residential spaces was about 40.8 million square metres in 2004/05, which is about 1% of annual average constructed floor area around the world, and the trend shows a sustained growth of 10% over the coming years. With a near consistent 8% rise in annual energy consumption in the residential and commercial sectors, energy consumption in buildings has seen an increase from a low of 14% in the 1970s to nearly 33% in 2004/05. • 8. Public Sentiments Concerning Chinese Immigration Essay Public Sentiments Concerning Chinese Immigration In 1852, there were over 20,000 Chinese immigrants living in California (Franks). Americans reacted very negatively to this influx, and their negative sentiments were made apparent in the California Supreme Court s People v. Hall verdict, which rendered Chinese testimony unreliable. Then, in 1882, President Chester Arthur signed the Chinese Exclusion Act, a law that prohibited Chinese laborers from entering the United States (Foner, 651). From the 1850s up to the Exclusion Act of 1882, Americans felt increasingly negative sentiments towards the Chinese. The scenery is drawn with many dark shades on the walls and floor, depicting it as an alley or a similarly secluded location. Here, the Chinese man partakes in his devious acts, away from the public eye. This sets a dark, mischievous tone, and in the drawing the little boy is smoking a cigar, presumably as a result of the Chinese man s negative influence. The little boy is underage and is engaging in immoral behavior. The Chinese man has corrupted him simply through association, and by smoking a cigar at his age he has been corrupted. This depiction shows the underlying perception that the Chinese were an infestation that were negatively influencing and corrupting the population. This perception of the Chinese as a menace is also apparent in the image Amusing the Child from The Wasp. This picture depicts the Chinese man as a diabolical creature: He crawls around on four legs like a dog, and has large scaly hands with sharp, thin nails. The Chinese man wears tattered clothing and from behind, a long, red devil s tale extends from his body. Also, the image has two Americans sitting on chairs: Sitting in the left chair is President Chester Arthur and in the right chair is a baby, which represents the Pacific Coast. Integrative approaches to psychology and Christianity Summary Enwistle s book, Integrative approaches to psychology and Christianity: An introduction to worldview issues, philosophical foundations, and models of integration (2010) is a text that explores integrating psychology and Christianity. We start out by learning about integration related to both psychology and Christianity. Is this a thing? Is integration between these two subjects a subject itself? Enwistle explores through time to reveal how psychology and Christianity have been both closely studied and intertwined throughout time. Enwistle (2010) defines Christian psychology as a commitment to a Christian worldview that shapes how psychology is studied and applies, and that recognizes that there are specific Christian resources that uniquely reveal crucial aspects of what it means to be human (p. 14). Those in the psychology or counseling field who are also Christian have unique and different approaches but they draw from both Christianity and psychology to help them succeed. • 15. The Human Immunodeficiency Virus ( Hiv ) The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is an immune system disorder that can be contracted through sexual activity as well as other types of contact. (Healthy Living, pg. 79) If left untreated this virus can turn into AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). AIDS is the final stage of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). (aids.gov) AIDS is an incurable progressive disease that causes gradual destruction of CD4 T cells by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). (Diseases, pg. 431) A healthy adult has a CD4 T cell count of 1,000 or more but a person suffering from HIV could have a count lower than 200. CD4 T cells are crucial to the immune system; without them the immune system would not have the ability to fight off infections. One of the disquieting facts about AIDS is that the infected person may be asymptomatic for years. • 18. The Effects Of Social Anxiety On Higher Education To begin we take a look at two studies that were done on college students and the effects of social anxiety in higher education, researchers were able to conclude that social anxiety does have an impact on the wellbeing and success of students in each study. In our first study, students from Sydney, Australia, were accessed using many psychological tests, scales, and inventories to obtain scores for accurate study. The topic of the study is Impairments in Goal directed actions that predict treatment response to cognitive behavioral therapy in social anxiety. The participants who were involved gave written consent to be a part of this study, and those who were on medications were properly stabilized before participation began. This study involved showing participants fractal images of food as a reward to measure goal directed actions in predicting treatment response to cognitive behavioral therapy (Alvares, G. A., Balleine, B. W., Guastella, A. J. (2014). Anxiety has been argued to be related to an inability to process rewarding information appropriately to guide actions (Alvares, et. al, 2014) and changes in outcome values (Alvares, et.al, 2014). The results found that those who had a social anxiety disorder showed higher impairments in goal directed action that predicted poorer response to treatment (Alvares, et.al, 2014). The participants were given a test of how much a reward affected the outcome of goal directed actions. Those who kept responding even after ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You need to listen carefully. Take notes. Lots of notes. Everyone knows that you want be that parent with the honor student. You know, the one that drives around with that sticker on their mini van. Don t deny it. Well, as a fellow senior, ill give you the key to making your child good enough to brag to all your friends about. All parents care about their child s GPA ... am I right? when approaching the seriousness of GPA with your senior you need to lay down the rules. Make sure that you turn your beautiful house into a prison of sorts. Your child needs to be told that they can not leave the house at any point in time (except for school) unless their GPA is well above a 4.0. I mean an average GPA is obviously not acceptable. While your senior might get angry at this, explain to them over and over that you just care about their future. Making your child sit in a room for hours doing unnecessary busy work will most definitely make them the star student you have always dreamed of parenting. Remember, no friends and/or social life is the best for your child. Grades are the only thing that matter. Technology is a huge part of students lives nowadays. Especially seniors. Health Economics And Policy Questions Health Economics and Policy Coursework Question 2 SN: 13026885 a) w= £62,500 U= √w 50% chance of medical problem Costs of £4,900 We can derive this individual s expected wealth if we multiply the probability of each outcome with the associated costs. E(w) = 0.5 * £62,500 + 0.5 * (£62,500 £4,900) E(w) = 0.5 * £62,500 + 0.5 * £57,600 E(w) = £60,050 To find out what level of utility will this individual s expected wealth yield, we simply have to put the value of the E(w) in the utility equation. We know U= √w, so in our case U(E(w)) = √(E(w)) U(E(w)) = √60,050  U(E(w)) ≈ 245.051 To compute this individual s expected utility, we follow the exact same procedure as in point i), but this time for utility. The original risky gamble (in the absence of insurance) would leave him with an expected utility of 245, as shown in point iii) this is the minimum utility this individual is willing to go to. That is, he will be willing to pay an amount of money that will leave him with a certain utility equal to the expected utility of the original gamble 245. This utility is associated with a wealth of 2452 = £60,025. So the maximum amount he is willing to pay for insurance is £62,500 £60,025 = £2,475 . Anything above this price would leave him with a certain utility lower than the expected one. This is illustrated in the graph, by the red arrow. b) Moral Hazard: Moral hazard is one of the market failures that occurs mostly in insurance markets. When consumers purchase insurance, and therefore, do not pay for the full price of health care health care becomes relatively cheaper for them. Thus, consumers demand more health care than they would do in the absence of insurance a phenomena regarded as moral hazard. Symbolism In Tennessee William s The Glass Menagerie Symbolism is a major aspect in Tennessee William s famous play, The Glass Menagerie. Each character defines each symbol in a different way. Aside from character symbols, there is overall symbolism in this play. It is set in a memory, so it creates a soft, dream like setting. Our existing customer, RedBet LLC, had properly paid off two short term leases with us, leaving us a small exposure on a third lease (total exposure had been $320K). RedBet is now coming back to finance of $250K in vacuum tank trailers, a sale that is very important to our preferred vendor. RedBet is an oilfield servicing firm headquartered in New Mexico. We asked, Would you do this deal? Why or why not? As much as we appreciate our lessee, we know that it s even more important for us to value our preferred vendor. With the oil business in decline and our vendor needing to close every sale, this transaction may make or break our relationship with the vendor (who we think could find another funding source to do this deal). In spite of the oil industry downturn, we want to retain this vendor relationship because (a) the vendor is also offering us high quality non oilfield transactions, (b) the cyclical oil business will eventually come back, (c) this vendor s originations have been very profitable for us (high yield and excellent performance−so far), (d) we don t have a concentration in oilfield exposures, and (e) good vendor relationships like this are hard to develop. In addition, with a yield 17%, the transaction could generate substantial income for us. So instead of categorically declining this oil industry transaction, we look for a way to get ... • 27. Effects Of Birth Control On American Women s Lives Effects of the Birth Control Pill on American Women s Lives Over the centuries, women have tried a number of methods to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Some of the pregnancy control measures that existed before the invention of the pill included abstinence and withdrawal. Unfortunately, such methods often failed to prevent unintended pregnancies. As such, birth control advocates continued researching for effective birth control methods. Americans did not meet the idea of birth control methods with enthusiasm. In fact, those who advocated the use of birth control devices experienced challenges, including being jailed. In the 1950s, birth control pills were introduced in the United States (Windsor, 2002). Over the past seven decades, the pill has changed the American women s lives in several ways. The pills have allowed women to delay marriages, invest in their career development, and secure well paid jobs in areas that were previously dominated by men. The pill has also improved family relationships and prevented abuse and marriage dissolutions. This paper explores the history of birth control methods in the US and how the pill became available on a large scale to women. The paper further examines how the pills has given women the freedom to advance their careers, strengthen the marriage relationships, and participate in the workforce. Freud began exploring other methods of therapy including magnetism, where he believed he could use magnets to move sickness from one side of the brain to another. But none of these techniques were effective. Then a man named Jean Martin Charcot introduced hypnosis therapy to Freud. This caught Freud s attention because hypnosis is another way he could unlock and explore the unconscious mind. Relaxing on the psychiatric couch was the optimal position for a patient to undergo hypnosis. Freud gained a lot of research about the unconscious through hypnosis therapy. Later, Freud concluded that the patients sicknesses were not getting better through hypnosis simply because they could not recall anything from when they were hypnotized.
