Waldman s Our Past ) is described both literally as traveling by foot, train and/or boat as well as
figuratively in that the characters are traveling to intangible destinations.
As far as physical examples of traveling, the most obvious one would be in Hicok s poem, Go
Greyhound . In the poem, Hicok discusses his observations and experiences while riding a Greyhound
bus from Des Moines through Arizona. Though he does not directly state that he is traveling, the lines
Hope s a smaller thing on a bus, (1 Hicok) and As we entered Arizona, I thought I smelled the ocean,
(2 Hicok) show that he is traveling literally from one place to another.
Something I d like to mention in reference to the second line I quoted would be that the line itself is an
impossibility that brings contrast to the poem. Arizona is nowhere near the shores of the ocean so for
Hicok to smell the ocean would be impossible and, yet, he mentions it so casually in the poem. This

Abstract
Inverted topography in a different of scales from large scale to fine scale has been observed in
numerous localities on Martian surface. Also, Inverted wadis in Western Desert of Egypt in seven sites
cover an area of about 26.000 square kilometers, provide us a natural museum for a different of scales,
mechanisms of development, and planimetric patterns. Therefore, we carried out field study in four
sites of inverted wadis in Gabal El Na aloon, east of Baharyia, west of Ghard Abu Moharik, and west
of Tahta city rane with laboratory analysis for collected samples. In this paper, we shed light on the
morphological, sedimentological, and mineralogical aspects of inverted wadis in Western Desert of
Egypt. We conclude that the majority of minerals which led to the cementation of inverted wadis in
visited sites, are calcite, iron oxide, gypsum, illite, magnesite, alunite, vermiculite, aerinite, surite,
hematite, silicon oxide, epidote, magnetite, and clay. In addition, the grain size distribution for 18
samples of inverted wadis in two localities ranges from ( 6 to 4.5 ɸ scale), with boulders are
commonly 1 m in diameter. Lastly, inverted topography on Mars as a landform is extremely valuable
to give us detailed data about paleoenvironmental conditions, including paleohydrological and
sedimentological, this is making it an important candidate sites for landing.

I. Introduction. There are many remarkable personalities in our history, which made revolutionary
changes in women s lives. Two of them were Margaret Sanger and Eleanor Roosevelt. They
contributed immensely to change the women s fates and lives and to position them equally with men.
Margaret Sanger was born in 1879, in Corning, New York; she was sixth of eleven children of Michel
Higgins, an Irish Catholic stonecutter, and religious Anne Purcell Higgins. Her mother went through
eighteen pregnancies and died at the age of forty eight. She studied nursing in White Plains and
worked as nurse in one of the poorest neighborhood of New York. In 1902 Margaret Sanger married
architect and radical William Sanger. She didn t finish her studying. Margaret gave birth to three
children. In 1912 Sanger s family moved to Manhattan. All her life Margaret Sanger was a
courageous, dedicated and persistent American birth control activist, advocate of eugenics, and the
founder of the American Birth Control League. She was first woman opening the way to universal
access to birth control.
Eleanor Roosevelt was born on October 11, 1884, in New York in a wealthy and socially prominent
family. Eleanor s parents died when she was very young. She was shy and unhappy child. Eleanor
went to school in England. She married Franklin D. Roosevelt and became his helpmate in his

Nuclear power has the potential to create vast amounts of energy from a comparatively miniscule fuel
source. According to the Nuclear Energy Institute, ...as of November 2016, 30 countries worldwide are
operating 450 nuclear reactors for electricity generation and 60 new nuclear plants are under
construction (Nuclear Energy Institute, 2016). Not only has nuclear power seen use across the world,
but it has seen applications in the United States and right here in Florida. Currently, there are two
facilities operated by Florida Power and Light (FPL) in the Sunshine State that produce over 3,000
megawatts of energy homes, public buildings, and businesses alike (Florida Power and Light, 2016a).
However, these plants are hundreds of miles away from Volusia County (located near the major
metropolitan areas of Port St. Lucie and Miami) and their benefits cannot be reaped by citizens in the
county due to this distance. With successful nuclear plants already in operation within the state, why
should Volusia County not try to acknowledge the possibility of such a project?
Fossil fuels, as is widely known, are exhaustible resources that cannot possibly sustain humankind s
energy needs ad infinitum. Nuclear energy provides a way to wean our population off natural gases,
not necessarily overnight, but over the course of years or decades. Volusia does have the space, and

The human race is but a monotonous affair. Most of them labour the greater part of their time for mere
subsistence; and the scanty portion of freedom which remains to them so troubles them that they use
every exertion to get rid of it. Oh, the destiny of man! Werther s offhanded comment in The Sorrows
of Young Werther provides insight on how people perceive work and freedom during his time, and
how that relates to the way modern society perceives it as well. People like to assume society has
progressed in many ways in the last 200 years, but in some ways, habits have not changed much. The
working and recreational habits of the middle class man as revealed through Sorrows are not far
removed from the way college students and working adults treat the same time. Werther makes a point
of saying that the people he meets in Walheim are like the type one would meet everywhere. Much of
their time is spent working for survival, whether that be in a more gentleman like job or as simple as
farming. Some, like Werther, are exempt from this sort of life style because of their status. He, like
Lotte and Albert, are upper middle class, typically because of the status of their parents. In the 1700 s,
it was difficult for most people not already around that social range to suddenly rise up into it. Due to
changing ideas concerning social hierarchies and the increased freedom in colonies slowly wore down
