Photography Plan
Ideas for my photographs including setting, props, costumes, shot types,
and composition.
Setting
For my front cover image, I plan on taking a photo of a
female duet on old, concrete steps with one on a higher
step and one on a lower step. Ideally, it will be a low angle,
so that the duet looks powerful. The image background
should look quite dull so that other colours can contrast
against it and the magazine won’t look too colourful.
For the double-page spread, I will have another image of
the duet, but this time leaning against a smashed window,
looking out at the camera. The wall next to the window will
look dirty and graffiti will cover it.
There will be pictures of other artists featured on the cover
who will be pictured in places such as abandoned
warehouses and destroyed rooms.
Props
I am most likely to use a guitar as a prop in my images as usually rock/indie
bands play their own instruments. The guitar will be black or white, and electric or
acoustic.
Metal pipes could also be used that have been found at the location so that the
artists can pretend to have a swordfight with them and mess around.
An amp could be used for one of the artists to put their foot on as amplifiers are
used in bands as they make the guitar sound louder so it could also make the
artist leaning on it seem loud and quite a powerful character.
Costumes
The female artists will most likely to be wearing black skinny jeans and dark
jumpers/tops or a dark coloured dress with ripped black tights. They will wear
either Converse, Doc Martens, Vans, or boots and some of them will wear layered
jewellery and chokers.
Shot Types
There is going to be a few wide shots taken for
my images as because they are a band/duet, I
will need to fit all of the artists in the issue.
Long shots will also be common as I want the
audience to be able to see their outfits so they
can admire them and copy their style. Long shots
will also show the audience almost immediately
what genre they are from their style/outfit
choices.
I want to use low angle shots of the duet so that
they look dominating and very powerful.
Composition
On the stair picture, the main artist/singer will be sat closer towards the camera,
and the musician will be further away from the camera, sat on a higher step.
On the wide shots, I will have both of the artists stood next to each other messing
around so
