Both Gina and Karen expected to find dark
colours on rock/indie magazine covers and
colours such as black, red, white, and grey.
3. What are your opinions on the colour
theme on this magazine cover?
Karen liked the colours on the cover as they suit
the genre. However, Gina thought that the colours
were too bright for the genre of the magazine as
there is a lot of white used.
Both of the interviewees liked the fact that Green
Day’s name was in green as it related to the bands
name.

Sans serif.
5. Do you like the fonts used on this
magazine? Why?
Both of the girls liked the fonts used on this cover
as the sans serif appeals to the younger target
audience because it looks more modern.
6. What images do you like to see in
rock/indie magazines?
They both like to see close ups/mid shots of
artists and they like to see all of the members of
the band in one big wide shot image.
7. What content do you like to see in
rock/indie music magazines?
Interviews, tour/concert dates,
posters, personal/funny stories.
8. Do you like this magazine cover? Why?
Yes because it clearly fits the genre, it has free
things advertised on the cover, and it has their
favourite artists/bands mentioned.
9. What would you do to improve this
magazine cover?
They would use darker colours to fit
the genre and also make use of the
left third more.
10. Would you pick this magazine up if you
saw it? Why?
Yes because of the artists on the front and
because it looks quite interesting.
