Band Name Research
To decide the name of my rock/indie magazine, I set up a poll and let
people from my target audience decide for themselves their
favourite name and then I would choose which name appealed to the
majority.
The result of the poll decided that ‘Chords’ would be the name of my
rock/indie music magazine. This is an excellent name as it relates to the
playing of a guitar and my target audience can relate and
understand that because they either play a musical instrument or have
a lot of knowledge about music.
Font Style Research
Before I chose my name, I wanted to send a survey out to find out which font styles
people wished to see for the masthead of my magazine and which one would suit the genre. The
result was a tie between two fonts: Listen and Live. Because of this, I decided to find a font that was
similar to both of them so it was still what the audience wished to see.
Thanks to the research into fonts and names, the masthead for my magazine will look like this:
