Persuasive Essay Template
Crafting a persuasive essay template from scratch can be a challenging task that demands careful
consideration and planning. First and foremost, one must delve into the intricacies of persuasive
writing, understanding how to effectively structure arguments and employ rhetorical devices to
sway the audience. This necessitates extensive research to gather credible evidence and examples
to support each point.
Moreover, constructing a coherent template requires a keen understanding of the essay's purpose
and target audience. Tailoring the language and tone to appeal to the intended readership while
maintaining a persuasive edge is no small feat. Each section of the template must seamlessly
flow into the next, guiding the reader through a logical progression of ideas while building a
compelling case.
Additionally, striking the right balance between assertiveness and credibility is crucial. Overly
aggressive language or unsubstantiated claims can undermine the essay's persuasiveness, while
excessive reliance on statistics and facts may alienate readers. Finding the sweet spot where
emotion and logic intersect is a delicate dance that demands finesse.
Furthermore, ensuring originality and creativity in crafting the template presents another hurdle.
With countless persuasive essays already in existence, avoiding clichГ©s and tired arguments
requires innovative thinking and a fresh perspective. Striving to offer a unique angle or novel
insights adds an extra layer of complexity to the writing process.
In conclusion, developing a persuasive essay template from scratch is a formidable undertaking
that demands proficiency in persuasive writing techniques, a deep understanding of the target
audience, a delicate balance between assertiveness and credibility, and a commitment to
originality and creativity. It is a task that requires dedication, meticulous planning, and a
willingness to revise and refine until the desired impact is achieved.

Monster By Walter Dean Myers
The book I chose is called Monster by Walter Dean Myers. This novel won the
Coretta Scott King award , the Printz award , and was also a National Book Award
Finalist. Monster is the name and thing that Steve considers himself as he has
gotten in a bit of trouble. This novel took place in Harlem New York in mid year of
1997. Steve harmon was in a drug store while some of the people he has been seen
around the neighborhood with stuck the place up and murdered the owner of the
store in cold blood now he is on trial for Felony 1 murder and this is the story of his
trail. Our lives compare to each others in many ways. There are thousands of
inferences that could be made Everyone thinks steve is guilty just because he is a
black male in an impoverished community. Everyone prejudges him but he is
really a nice person at heart. The fact that he new the guys who stuck up the store
and killed the owner didn t make it any better. Is it true that majority of the world
stereotypes african americans. If you re not an athlete they either think you steal
or are a thug and I think that s what everyone thinks about steve besides his own
parents. In my opinion the biggest thing that Steve and I have in common is that
everyone looks at us as the same person. A lot of people in this world look at young
african americans as bad or criminals. That should never be the case but in America
that s just how things are. Once people get to know me they realize I am a very nice
person with an
Ice Cube ( O Shea Jackson
Gangsta rap originated in the late 1980 s. Ice Cube (O Shea Jackson) of the rap
group NWA (Niggaz with Attitude) wrote the song Gangsta Gangsta, and it shocked
America with its violent, sexist, and obscene lyrics. Gangsta Gangsta ushered in a
new genre of hip hop music called gangsta rap, which became identified with
Compton, a predominately black and Latino working class and working poor
neighborhood in Los Angeles . Many people did not agree with the sexist and
indecent lyrics in gangsta rap even though the lyrics were telling the story of many
people who lived in this reality.
Gangsta rap acted as an outlet so such people could express themselves angrily and
not in fear that they were going to be silenced for telling the truth. They often used
gangsta rap to tell the stories of their lives, which sometimes included strong
violence, hypersexuality, and drug abuse. This music style was new and different.
Gangsta rap was authentic and helped tell a story with its deep lyrics. During the
1990s, Republican and Democratic politicians and some black leaders blamed, not
all hip hop music, but gangsta rap for all of the black communities social problems:
drug use, teenage pregnancy, unemployment, gang violence, and high school
dropouts. Even though these problems existed in the black community prior to
gangsta rap, this music and culture has provided a convenient target to avoid
addressing the causes of the real problems of black America: racism, sexism, and
poverty .

Italian Mannerist Style Changed In Christ With The
Symbols...
The Italian Mannerist Style portrayed in Christ with the Symbols of the Passion
The art work Christ with the Symbols of the Passion, created by Italian artist
Lavinia Fontana in 1576. This piece of art, Christ with the Symbols of the Passion,
oil on wood, is currently on display in the El Paso Museum of Art. Trained by her
father, artist Porspero Fontana. Fontana became an established artist best known for
her strong reputation in Bologna for her devotional paintings and for portraiture.
This piece of work depicts angels supporting the body of Christ, a scene in which is
not represented in biblical scriptures. Symbols of the Suffering and Passion of Christ
are illustrated in this painting, these symbols surround Christ. The symbols are the
cross, the column in which Christ is tied to, the whip and the crown of thorns .
In addition to, Italian Mannerism is a style of later Renaissance art, in which depicts
a self conscious stylization involving caprice, complexity fantasy and polish
(Kleiner ) . Mannerism is the reaction to the features of the High Renaissance style.
This style, can be seen as a rejection of classical themes of harmony and balance that
are represented by Renaissance art pieces. Paintings in the mannerist style can be
seen as an exaggeration or a parody of previous works, such as the Pieta executed by
Michelangelo. Similar to other styles, Mannerism includes characteristics which
make the style intricate. These characteristics include
Comparing Vladimir Lenin s Eyes And A Capitalist Society
The popular, the majority, the working class, the predominant, the masses. There are
countless terms available to describe who has the most socio political power, the
most weathered; the proletariats. In Vladimir Lenin s eyes, in a capitalist society a
proletariat is the term used to describe the working class, the class that does not have
ownership of any means of production(land and capital) and whose sole income
source derives from labor. The minority, who own the majority of the wealth, the
means of production, and the means of coercion(law enforcement and legal system).
In a capitalist society, the bourgeoisie exploit the proletariats. Only the bourgeoisie

They would prohibit any Soviet that had a capitalist agenda from gaining any socio
political power, therefore creating the first completely proletarian government, made
by and for the working class. Another example of where this method was applied is
the Chinese Communist Revolution. Qu Lindong, a prominent Chinese historian at
the University of Beijing, describes Marxism as the dominant outlook in[Chinese]
history. In fact, the Chinese Revolution was championed by Mao Zedong, a devout
believer in the Marxism Leninism revolutionary theories, whom attempted to apply
the techniques used by Lenin in the Russian Revolution, adapted slightly to fit
China s socio political needs, to his own nation. Both of these revolution s occurred
for the same reason; the majority s exasperation in their respective, unequal social
structure. Essentially, the working class got tired of being exploited and suppressed
by the ruling class, and decided to take a stand against them, as one unit. The
Chinese Revolution was similar to the Russian Revolution because, once capitalism
reigned globally supreme, the only type of revolt that could occur is the overthrow of
capitalism by the conscious revolutionary acts of the proletariat. Therefore, almost all
revolutions are based on class conflict and
My Perceptions Of The Environment And The Amount Of
Control
Based on my responses to my perceptions of the environment and the amount of
control I feel I have, the VISA evaluation validated my perception about my
leadership proficiencies. This evaluation indicated a Dominance personality as a
leader. According to my VISA profile there is a strong emphasis on Vision and Action
which echoes the dimensions that form my leadershipstyle. Interdependence and
Structure have been indicated to be the less developed areas in my evaluation
profile. This also confirms my perceptions as I find rigorous adherence to policies
and procedures sometimes stifling progress and my dominant preference of action
approach resonance with my desire to be goal oriented, action driven to achieve
results and freedom to make quick decisions. Having Vision couple with Action
reaffirms my personality in a sense that I am future orientated, love creativity and
innovative thinking, and tends to seek unique accomplishments and innovative
solutions. I enjoy tackling varies activities and embrace a wide range of tasks. I am
also high in conscientiousness and tend to use a systematic approach on problem
solving. When working with others, I have a tendencyto be diplomatic and use an
indirect approach to avoid conflict. This illustrative VISA profile is therefore well
aligned with my character and leadership assessment.
While Vision is more dominant, the Action element compliments my behavioural
drive for my visionary outlook. I embrace change and view the use of

Self Assessment And Education Planning
Self assessment and Education Planning Through experience, I ve learned to
pursue some employment opportunities over others. I m not sure why, but some
choices can be attributed to my parents, peers, social status and the environment.
These influences can also be credited to activities that I participated in while
growing up. For example, I enjoyed helping my mother care for my younger
sibling; this is probably why my strongest interest on the RIASEC spectrum falls
within the area of Education and training. Acquiring a Bachelor s degree, or
Master s degree is required to work in any of the fields assessed on the spectrum,

Analysis Of Joe Turner s Come And Gone
Nothing takes away the dignity and self respect of individuals like stripping them of
their human characteristics and viewing them as property instead of people. The
quickest way to make someone lose his or her direction in life is to destroy the
identity he or she worked hard to forge. Through his use of symbolism and indirect
characterization, August Wilson establishes his theme that finding and maintaining
one s identity is important in life.
The title Joe Turner s Come and Gone refers to Joe Turney, the brother of former
Tennessee Governor Peter Turney. In the late 19th Century, Joe Turney was
responsible for transporting black prisoners from Memphis to the Tennessee State
Penitentiary, located in Nashville. However, he would often... Show more content on

Cause you forgot how to sing your song (II, ii, 68). According to Bynum, an
individual s song is synonymous with his or her identity. This is seen on a historical
level, when one considers the detrimental impact Joe Turner s chain gangs had on
individuals: he broke each member until they had all forgotten who they were. The
loss of individual identity may allude to the fact that members of a chain gang had to
work together because they were chained together; they were no longer viewed as
individuals but were considered a unit. When viewed as a symbol for oppression,
Joe Turner exceeds chain gangs and is found in every level of the lives of African
Americans; he is the reason men like Seth are unable to further their businesses, he
is the reason police officers abuse their power and arrest innocent black men like
Jeremy, and he is the reason families like the Loomis fall apart. On a metaphorical
level, the loss of identity could refer to the loss of one s self in the sense of the
values one holds dear. Regardless of the dimension in which the loss of individuality
is viewed, the central message remains the same: Joe Turner (oppression and the
historical figure) preys on the identity of African Americans and works hard to
destroy it.
Besides symbolism, Wilson uses indirect characterization to describe the different
generations that are present in the play and show how each generation struggles to
find and
Past and Current Drug Trends
Past and Current Drug Trends
Many past and current trends of the use and abuse of drugs in the United States have
been associated with health and social trends that at times may have been considered
culturally acceptable. Many trends have occurred since early times. The nineteenth
century introduced advancement in modern medicines making several medicinal
drugs popular, but by the end of the century was being considered a complicated
matter. The twentieth century showed great concern amongst the American people
for substance abuse and trends of usage and abuse changed as quickly as the decades
past by. The drugusage and abuse now is very regulated and campaigned against
misuse of licit drugs and the abuse of illicit drugs.

But the development of crack cocaine appeared in 1985 and was cheap and readily
available (Levinthal, 2012).
Now during the twenty first century Americans have a better awareness of drugs
both licit and illicit and are continuing to fight the war on drugs. While the
acceptance of many drugs has been through ups and downs over the last decade or
so, it is no longer accepted today. Marijuana has had its times of acceptance during
shamanism times and hippie times. Many psychoactive drugs have had acceptance
during times when medicine was not as developed as it is today. Cocaine and
heroine also had times of acceptance in medicines and substances through the years
such as cocaine in the early years of Coca Cola.
But with modern science and the history of knowledge of what drugs can do to a
person, Americans can finely be well informed of the consequences of drug and
substance abuse. Although America is going through a time when prescription
medicines may become the drug of choice, there are regulations and help options to
help those with addictions. It is safe to say that with drug use comes criminal activity
now, while many drug using Americans steal to fund their habits or doctors breach
their trust to provide their patient with prescription pain killers. Smoking cigarettes
although not illegal has become a campaign on its own while Americans fight the

Claudia Rankine Poetry
The criterion used to determine whether or not artistic works can be considered
poetry or not are, at best, esoteric. As poetry has evolved from rigidly structured
sonnets of the Renaissance to the plethora of imaginative, free verse pieces being
produced today, the scope of what the artistic public defines as poetryhas been
stretched to encompass a great many things. This new freedom of form does have its
limits, however. Take, for example, Claudia Rankine s Citizen: An American Lyric
and Kenneth Goldsmith s Seven American Deaths and Disasters. Rankine
incorporates a number of images and collages into Citizen to help augment the
messages being put forward by her writing, while Goldsmith s work is composed
entirely of transcriptions of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of chaos (20) as Goldsmith phases out the advertisements and focuses solely on the
incoming news coverage, making the atmosphere direr. Goldsmith deliberately begins
things fluffily and manicures the text as details of the assassination become known in
order to turn up the intensity and emphasize the true disastrous nature of the
American disaster. As Goldsmith includes, The shock, uh, of an incident like this ...

Comparing the Flood and Creation in Ovid s
Metamorphoses...
Where did man come from? Where did time begin? Who, or what, created
all things? These are questions that mankind has sought to answer from the
beginning of existence as it is known today. Many stories and fables have been
told and passed down from generation to generation, yet two have survived the
test of time and criticism. The Biblical account in Genesis, probably written
by Moses around 1500 B.C., and the story of creation and flood in Ovid s
Metamorphosis, written somewhere between 8 and 17 A.D., have weathered the
criticism and become the most famous. The Genesis account, however, may be the
most prominent of the two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are a few discrepancies in detail as well. The water, in Ovid s,
[holds] up, [holds] in the land, while, in Genesis, the land [separates] the
waters from the waters (549; 1:9). In Metamorphoses the air, land, light and
water (as humans know it) seems to form at one instant when God, or kindlier
Nature, [settles] all (549). In Genesis however, light; heaven; land and
vegetation; stars, sun and moon; fish; animals and man are created on separate
days.
Though these two writings are different in many respects, they are
strikingly similar as well. Both are great and beautiful poems that contiue to
stand the test of time. They are also written for the purpose of explaining or
answering some question, whether that be who, what, or how time and existence,
as it is known today, came to pass.
Both poems give credit for creation to a supreme being or supernatural
beings. Ovid states that the gods, who [make] the changes, will help me or I
hope so with a poem (548). Genesis 1:1 states, In the beginning God [creates]
the heavens and the earth.
How The Low Income Of Countries Such As Chad And

Introduction
This report is to help introduce the low income of countries such as Chad and Papua
New Guinea, and comparing them to a country such as Sweden who has no income.
For years, certain countries, as the two listed above cannot maintain a lifestyle with
the incomes that are available to them. Using incomes will help to see where the
problem is occurring and how it might be approached to aid the countries. Reporting
on the countries will give insight into a historical background including independence
of the countries, along with education, literacy, life factors, and poverty by using the
GINI to show how wide the gaps can be and become.
Historical Background In 1946 Chad became an Overseas Territory of France and
on August 11, 1960 obtained independence, but short lived, because of a tyrant
dictator, Francois Tombalbaye, who never really released them from his grip, and
Chad had been in a civil war, until 1990 when Idriss Deby, a military commander,
took control and with his rule, multi party politics has returned to Chad, giving some
freedoms back to its citizens (Chad s long road to independence, 2010).
Papua New Guinea was under the government of Australia, and the UN pushed
Australia to give Papua New Guinea independence and help create a group that
would be able to run a government through social and educated influences. On
September 16, 1975 Papua New Guinea obtained their independence with a monarchy
ruled by Queen Elizabeth II as head of state represented
Federalism And The Other Federalism
In this paper I ve researched different texts and different information on the topic of
federalism to have a good understanding and knowledge of it. I found many sources
of great information to learn about federalism and how it influences many countries
in the world that we know today. My goal in this paper is to give a good
understanding to what I ve learned and give great detail on federalismand the other
Federalism is when two or more levels of governments share the same power over the
same region. Usually the higher national government governs the issues that concern
the entire country, and smaller subdivisions govern issues of their local concern, but
both have the power to make and enforce laws. Good examples of federalist countries
would be Canada, Germany, France, and the United States. The federal governmentis
granted power to mint money, declare war, establish post offices, and punish piracy.
Any action that the federal government may have must stand by the constitution.
While the state government has all the powers that are not granted to the federal

The Project aimed to make a spaceship that was simple and affordable. The project
was initiated by Ted Taylor and Francis de Hoffman, founders of General Atomic
and by physicist Freeman Dyson of Princeton s Institute for Advanced Study on
1958 in San Diego [2]. Their goal was to land on Mars by 1965 and to Saturn by
1970 [1]. They were funded by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) in
July for $1 million per year. There came a time in 1959 when ARPA no longer was
able to support Project Orion due to insufficient funds and approached the Air
Force for funding [1]. The Air Force reluctantly decided to fund only if they can
find a use for it. The Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara, refused to increase
funding to Project Orion as he felt it was not a military asset [2]. The Orion team
inquired NASA for funding as its current funding would not be enough to build a
flyable spacecraft [2]. NASA, same as the Air Force, reluctantly provided funding
due its fear that it would cause a public relations disaster. Project Orion was hit by a
fatal blow as the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs came into an
agreement of the Outer Space Treaty [3]. The Outer Space Treaty, signed by 103
countries, was signed in 1967 and served as the basic foundation of international
space law [3]. The Outer Space Treaty states that exploration of

The trap oxidizer development in Greece is one of many scientific research done to
reduce vehicle emissions. The carbon dioxide capture using nanostructured
membranes is also another way to check the vehicle emissions. In this method single
gas separation experiments were carried out using silica modified membranes to
study the behavior of individual gas permeation at different pressures and
temperatures.
1. Working of nanostructures membranes in capturing CO2 emission.
Design and fabrication of porous membranes comprises of many layers of different
materials namely: Aluminium Oxide (Al2O3), Titanium Oxide (TiO2), Zirconium
Oxide (ZrO2), Silicon Dioxide (SiO2), Silicon Carbide, Zeolite, or a mixture of
two materials applied on an underlying porous stainless steel. The manner in which
gas molecules flow is generally influenced by three factors: The gas properties,
morphology of the membrane and the material used for membrane design. The
technology is environment friendly, quite economical and efficient. It is applicable
to all forms of CO2 removal from other gases. Nanotechnology is being greatly used
in this method of carbon capture. Since 2003 vehicles have been built with on board
communications network protocol called CAN (Controlled Area Network).CANbus

Garth Brooks Essay
Gath Brooks Troyal Garth Brooks (also know as Garth Brooks) is the world s
greatest country singer of all time. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 7,
1962. He was raised in the small town of Yukon with country music in his blood.
He was the youngest child in his family that consisted of six children. His Mother,
Colleen Carroll, was a Professional country singer while she raised Garth and his
five other siblings with her husband, Troyal Carroll. Troyal worked as a engineer for
Unocal, an oil company located outside of Oklahoma. (Book, garth brooks) He played
guitar and taught Garth how to play. Both of Garths parents were a huge part of
making him who he is today. Garth did things that Elvis, and Michael Jackson never

out my wife and both of my parents, especially my mother. She made such a
difference in my life, I am so grateful for her and her always being there for me. All
of Garths fans and the people who work with him say He would never do anything
to hurt anyone. He is always helping others and thinking about them. Garth is not
like most celebrates; he is really nice and doesn t try to be better then everyone. He
sees himself as a normal person and thinks everyone is the same. He tells Waddell,
Our promoters don t have any front row seats to give out. We ve never done an

remarried to Trisha Yearwood, who is a country artist
Criteria for Diagnosing Major Depression Disorder
Losing a loved one is often a very sad experience. For humans it is natural to mourn
the loss of a loved one. Although everyone suffers differently, grief is a universal
experience. For most people grief resolves naturally, but some people can face
symptoms similar to that of major depression. Although the typical grief period
carries on for about two to six months, people can now be diagnosed with major
depressive disorderwithin weeks of experiencing symptoms. Even well known
psychologists such as Sigmund Freud have stated, ...although mourning involves
grave departures from the normal attitude toward life, it never occurs to us to
regard it as a pathological condition and to refer it to a medical treatment. We rely
on its being overcome after a certain lapse of time, and we look upon any
interference with it as useless or even harmful (Shear, 2011). The elimination of the
bereavement exclusion from the upcoming Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of
Mental Disorders, 5th Edition will pathologize the normal grief process, which will
soon lead to over diagnosis of major depressive disorder and blur the fine line
between grief and depression. In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders, 4th Edition, the criteria for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) was
listed as a loss of interest in daily activities, impaired social, occupational, and
educational functioning, and at least 5 of the specific symptoms to appear everyday.
These specific symptoms include a
Susanna Kaysen Case Summary
The subject of this analysis is Susanna Kaysen. Susanna is an eighteen year old
white women who was sent to McLean hospital where she was diagnosed with
borderline personality disorder. In this analysis, I plan to describe all her relevant
symptoms of abnormal behavior, discuss the etiology, and treatment considerations.
In addition to discussing her diagnosis and make the case that she was misdiagnosed
with borderline personality disorderand that she instead suffered from major
depressive disorder.
Description of relevant phenomena
A recent high school graduate, Susanna Kaysen began to enter her next chapter of
life when her symptoms of abnormal behavior started to take a great effect on her as
she struggled to function in her everyday
Pop Culture Has Influenced The American Way
Pop culture has always influenced the American way. In fact, there is a saying that
politics is downstream from culture. What this means is that laws, policies, and
guidelines that the government enforces are all influenced by what is being said
and done in pop culture. It may be hard to see this example today, but there were
certain parts in time where this idea could be easily seen. One of these eras was
the 1960s. The 1960s was filled with turbulence. This is because of all of the
significant events happening during this time period: the arms race, the space race,
the burst of new innovations, and the Cold War. During all of these events, a
revolution was beginning in the states. Many people saw what was wrong with the
United States, and strived to change it. This is how all sorts of movements began to
take place during this time period, like the civil rights movement. All of these
movements were to promote social justice. Some pop culture icons of the time voiced
their thoughts about this social justice. Three of these icons were influential
musicians. These musicians are Janis Joplin, Marvin Gaye, and Bob Dylan.
The first of these influential musicians is Janis Joplin. To understand her beliefs
and how she became such an inspiration, it is important to look at her upbringing.
Janis Joplin was born in Texas in 1943. She was raised in a middle class family
during a period of time when racial segregation was prominent. Seeing segregation as

The Flamingo Rising Character Analysis Essay
Changes in life I just really don t like being the center of attention that much. It s
kind of ironic. Whether it means giving a speech in front of an audience or
dancing on a stage, no one likes it. However, in the novel, The Flamingo Rising,
Larry Baker introduces Louise, a different type of person that will do anything to
be the center of attention. In Larry Baker s novel, Louise and her brother, Abraham
Isaac, start their first day at school at the age of twelve. Louise s limp becomes
obvious because she is nervous. As the class stares at her, she overcomes this
nervousness and takes control of the situation. In the novel, The Flamingo Rising,
Larry Baker clearly shows that Louise s identity is created more by the environment

It s apparent that Louise s identity has changed from being a shy and isolated girl to
someone that wants to have power. In addition, Louise s desire for attention affects
how she acts at school and at the Flamingo. On her first day at school, she asked
her teacher is this where I sit? (38) even though her teacher clearly stated that
seconds ago. She did this not only to draw the embarrassment away but to show
something else, her figure. At school, she is considered one of the most popular
girls in school because she has breasts (38); the figure of a mature woman. Also,
Louise works the concession stand, which is located in the middle of the
Flamingo. The concession stand is the place where everyone goes to buy food,
drinks, and basically anything one can get at a movie theatre. Since this is located
in the middle of the Flamingo, there is a lot of attention there. And who works
there? Louise does! It can be seen that Louise wants to be the center of attention.
Also, because Abraham and Louise are twins, they have to share some things. One
thing Louise hates to share is their birthday. When their birthday is on the same
day, it means that their party will be on the same day. One day will not be
dedicated to Abraham nor will one day be dedicated to Louise. In the novel, Louise
is surprised to hear that Abraham asked her what she will do on her birthday.
The Disappearance And Murder Of Tim Bosma
The disappearance and murder of Tim Bosma was one that captivated much of the
news and the public during May of 2013. An ordinary man from Ontario went
missing while with two men who were test driving his vehicle, only for his burnt
remains found a week later. The two men Dellen Millard, and Mark Smich who were
with Bosma during the test drive were eventually charged with first degree murder,
and later on both were convicted of that charge and sentenced to life in prison
(Armstrong Russell, 2014). This was a case that had many different policeofficers

Another group that would be involved would be the general duty officers who would

relating to the Bosma disappearance, and murder (Visser Humphreys, 2013). One of
the most important units involved in this investigation was the Forensic
Identification Services (FIS) members who are responsible for preserving, and
collecting all of the evidence. These officers worked along side the members
previously mentioned throughout the investigation collecting much evidence from
both Bosmas truck as well as other locations that were searched. 1
What Issues are Present There were many different issues that were present during
the investigation to the Tim Bosma murder. For one the length of the investigation,
and the amount of forensic evidence that was collected, and analyzed. The HPS
explained to the court the evidence collected from Bosma truck. They took sixty
four blood swabs in and around the truck; furthermore, they also took 23 fingerprints
from the truck on 20 different items with two of them matching to Millard
(Clairmont, 2016). A cut was made in a green tarp to remove the section with blood
stains on it, as well soil and vegetation samples were taken from the tires (Clairmont,
2016). They also collected shards of glass from a broken passenger window. This is
just an example of the amount of evidence that was collected from just the truck in
the Bosma murder investigation. Another

Lust Leads to Death in Mann s Death in Venice Essay
Can lust lead to your death bed? Aschenbach is known as the main character in the
novel Death in Venice. He grew up in a rich background where he had the fame,
wealth and money. Aschenbach was born the son of a career civil servant in the
justice ministry, while his mother was the daughter of a music director.
Aschenbach had his life planned out; he was very accurate and organized. Even in
his youth, he set out a goal for himself. He envision to live an old age and to

As a reader, I can assume that his death awaits him in Venice, that the lust and desire
that he possesses of traveling to Venice might be the cause of his death because
somehow I feel as if the title of the novel seemingly gives it away.
Arriving at Venice, he promptly checks into a hotel. Making himself comfortable in
the drawing room, he takes his time to examine his surroundings and the people with
whom he will be vacationing with. The hotel guests are an international mix. He
notices 3 adolescent girls and a boy, yet his attention is quickly drawn to the boy
who is about 14 years of age. Achenbach noted with astonishment that the boy was
perfectly beautiful (Mann, 2004, p.1855), as he went on observing and describing
the boy s entire feature. It was a face reminiscent of Greek statues from the noblest
period of antiquity; it combined perfection of form with a unique personal charm that
caused the onlooker to doubt ever having met with anything in nature or in art that
could match his perfection. ( Mann, 2004, p.1855). From this point on, I began to
question his sexuality because to me, it seems that he has homosexual tendencies.
Furthermore, any reader can conclude that he envies the boy. In Achenbach s mind;
the young boy reflects the perfect image of happiness. Something he never felt deep
within. Achenbach never got a chance to enjoy his childhood. Most of his childhood
days were gloom since it was spent
Intelligence Is Defined As General Cognitive Problem...
Intelligence is defined as general cognitive problem solving skills. A mental ability
involved in reasoning, perceiving relationships and analogies, calculating, learning
quickly... etc. A number of psychologists have argued that intelligence can be
quantified, primarily through testing. In 1905, Alfred Binet and Theodore Simon
devised a system for testing intelligence, with scoring based on average mental levels
for various age groups. .I.Q(intelligence quotient) in general, is an assessment of
your ability to think and reason. IQ score is a standardized way of comparing this
ability with the majority of people the same age as you are. A score of 100 means
that compared to these people in your general age group that you have basically an
average intelligence. Psychologists say those scoring in a range of 95 to 105 are of
a normal intelligence or have an average IQ. There have been many critiques about
the use of IQ tests mainly on the uncertainty of the IQ score due to the external
factors that are not accounted for in measuring IQ scores. This essay will be
addressing To what extent do scholars suggest the IQ tests to be an accurate way to
measure a person s intelligence level? An example is the chapter critique of the bell
curve from the book The Mismeasure of Man by Stephen Jay Gould.
The bell curve book argued that IQ tests are an accurate measure of intelligence; that
IQ is a strong predictor of school and career achievement; that IQ is highly heritable;
that IQ is
Reflection On Reading And Writing
The reading and writing practice that were done in class help me implement new
technique in my writing. There were presentations in class that discussed different
ways to become a better writer. The skills that were developed help with my
writing and can use the skills to implement in others course, helping to form better
essay. I learned about words that are not recommended of being used, how to
transition, and where to look for good scholarly articles. A practice that was done
for every assignment was to go over the first draft and finding new ways to
improve upon it. Going over the first draft help me improve my writing. One of the
practice talked about in English 5A, was to have multiple drafts. After reading
Shitty First Drafts passage, it gave details of what the benefits of having multiple
drafts. The passage relates to many people by discussing the difficulties people
have when starting the first draft. The first draft being difficult to write for many
is because of not knowing what to write or how to start off, therefore it does not
contain all the informations needed to make it a strong draft. The first draft
maycontain grammar error and lack of information, and it is the first step in
making the essay better in the second and third draft. Bring a draft for every

Environmental Pollution And Its Effects On The
Environment
The harm directly reflected in, if the living condition of a certain area is too bright at
night, it can be difficult to sleep, disrupt the body s normal biological clock, leading
to daytime work efficiency fall, resulting in psychological stress. 2. Environmental
pollution harm has two main aspects: 1. Heat island effect from the perspective of the
geographical circulation of heat, because the night lighting caused unnecessary
energy loss (including generating heat loss and lighting loss), is bound to increase
electric effect throughout the city, thereby exacerbating urban heat island effect.
ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT
Introduction. In this area, we will discuss about energy savings, land savings, water
savings and environment protection.
For the energy savings we need to promote the use of new and renewable energy
sources. Reasonable arrangements for cities various functions, and promote urban
living, employment and other rational distribution, reduce traffic load, reducing
energy consumption in urban transport. Renewable energy means that the energy is
from nature, non fossil energy sources can be renewed, including wind, solar, hydro,
biomass, geothermal and ocean energy.
Land saving includes rational distribution, scientific planning and improving the
intensification and saving level of the land use. Industrial building should increase the
floor area ratio appropriately, public buildings should increase the building density
appropriately, and residential buildings

with less: less time, inventory, space, labor, and money. Lean manufacturing, a
shorthand for a commitment to eliminating waste, simplifying procedures and
speeding up production (www.1000advices.com).
At its very core, this philosophy employs a systematic approach to the elimination of
waste in seven key areas. These areas could be summarized as eliminating
overproduction and producing only what customers need; eliminating unnecessary
delay, down or idle time; streamlining inventory processes to eliminate unnecessary
purchasing and storing of raw materials; prevent over processing by removing any
unnecessary steps in processes or procedures; streamlining the motion/movement of
people and equipment; eliminating transportation delays and unnecessary material
handling and reducing defective products and the cost to repair/replace them

As is obvious by now, there are clear differences between typical production process
and the lean production model. Suited for the mass production strategy of the last
century, the manufacturing cycle of the typical production process primarily engages

Descriptive Essay About The Beach
Ask any of your friends or family what they think of when you mention hot
Summer days and I d guess they are like a lot of mine and immediately picture
beaches. Some of them may think of the always warm climates of San Diego,
Miami, or even Hawaii. Some might even venture to dream of the sands of the
French and Italian Rivieras. What I dream of though is just a bit different. I always
imagine the words beach day scrawled in the sand with pieces of seashells
underlining the letters somewhere along the Pacific coast of Oregon. While the
western half of the state is known for its cooler and wetter climate, the Summer
season can be quite temperate and makes its beaches a perfect destination for escapes
from the high heat. Once you get there, in addition to simply enjoying relaxing in the
sand and splashing in the water, you will find plenty of activities along the way to
make many new Summer memories.
Start at the northern end of Oregon s portion of Highway 101 and you will find
Astoria. If you are of the generation that embraced the now classic Goonies , you
will find yourself recognizing this location immediately. Much of the movie was
filmed here and there is a yearly Goonies Day celebration every June. Even if you
are not a follower of the cinematic history of the area you can enjoy the beautiful
scenery of the surrounding ocean and mountains by climbing the spiral staircase of
the 600 foot Astoria Column. The Column was completed as a marker

My Passion For A Graduate Degree
I was born in Inglewood, CA, the son of two immigrant parents. Growing up, I
always knew the importance of education; it was ingrained in me by my mother
and father. They grew up in Mexico where they both loved school until their
economic hardships forced them to come to the U.S. and work. I am the first
person in my family to go to college and will be the first to pursue a graduate
degree. The passion for education that my parents instilled, as well as my cultural
values, drives me to pursue a graduate degree. Early in my undergraduate educationI
became interested in researchand statistics, specifically related to education. My
passion for quantitative methods came after I enrolled in my Psychological Methods
class. This inspired me to expand my knowledge of statistics and go outside the
department to enroll in other advanced statistics courses. These classroom
experiences along with applied research and evaluation experience culminated with
me wanting to obtain a graduate degree in quantitative methods. I want to be able to
give back to my community and I hope to fulfill this goal by conducting research with
underrepresented populations, like the Latino population and believe the Universityof
Maryland would be a great stepping stone to my goal.
When I first came to college, I had no idea what the experience would be like, but I
was excited for this new chapter in my life. I enrolled in courses I thought I would
easily surpass, but a couple of weeks into them, I felt
Caesar Rodney Character Traits
Nowadays, people know Caesar Rodney s name because of the school district. But
exactly how many know who Caesar Rodney was and what he did for Delaware?
Born in 1728 in Dover, Rodney was the eldest of eight children. He attended the
Latin School in Philadelphia and went on to hold many important government jobs.
Rodney didn t let his asthma or cancer affect his career, often putting his own needs
off to continue serving his people. Perhaps his greatest achievements included
delegate to the Continental Congress and signer of the Declaration of
Independence. Though he had an informal education, he became one of the most
important men in Delaware s history. In addition to being a government official,
Caesar Rodney served in the Revolutionary War. Though he never actually saw
active duty, he was an important part in Delaware s militia. He quickly climbed the
ranks, gaining the positions of Captain, Colonel, Brigadier General and, finally,
Major General. Rodney cracked down on Loyalist support in Delaware during the
war. Rodney was a major help to George Washington s continental army. Delaware
had always met or exceeded the quota of both troops and equipment. This dedication

Essay Intrusion Detection Systems
Intrusion Detection Systems
In 1980, James Anderson s paper, Computer Security Threat Monitoring and
Surveillance, bore the notion of intrusion detection. Through government funding and
serious corporate interest allowed for intrusion detection systems(IDS) to develope
into their current state. So what exactly is IDS? An IDS is used to detect malicious
network traffic and computer usage through attack signatures. The IDS watches for
attacks not only from incoming internet traffic but also for attacks that originate in
the system. When a potential attack is detected the IDS logs the information and
sends an alert to the console. How the alert is detected and handled at is dependent
on the type of IDS in place. Through this paper we ... Show more content on

With NIDS the system attempts to detect threats and attacks, such as denial of service
attacks, port scans and attempts to hack into computers by monitoring the network
traffic in real time through a promiscuous connection. It does so by first filtering out
all known non malicious traffic and then analyzing the remaining incoming packets
for suspicious patterns that could be threats. It is not however limited to just
analyzing incoming packets, the system also analyzes the outgoing local traffic, in
case of an attack/threat that originates inside of the local network. Snort is an
example of this.
Host based intrusion detection systems unlike network intrusion detection systems,
which focus on a computing system s external interfaces, host based systems focus
on the monitoring and examination of the computing system s internals. Host based
systems are more concerned with the changes in state of a computing system. It
detects these changes by analyzing system specific logs either in real time or
periodically. When there is any change in the logs the IDS will compare the current
configuration of the security policy to the changes and react accordingly. An example
of this would be tripwire.
Protocol based intrusion detection systems (PIDS) monitor the dynamic behavior and
state of the protocol. In a typical setup there is a system or agent sitting at the front
end of the server. This agent or system monitors the communication protocol between

Fair Apportionment In The United States
Ever since the first democratic election of 1950, Turkish people have proven high
interests in elections. The lowest participation was in 1973 with 66.82 percent and
highest participation in 1987 with 93.38 percent (IDEA). Despite the high voter
turnout rate, their votes have not been represented equally. The apportionment
method used have not been fair. Apportionment deals straight with the amount of
political power granted to citizens living in different areas. A fair apportionment
method would grant each citizen equal amount of political power despite their
locations. It is however, difficult to apportion in accordance with the principle of
equal vote value. The apportionment problem arises due to the rounding problem. In
formal statement, apportionment problem involves a group of states with some
populations (p1, p2, ..., p3), and a whole number of a seats to distribute.
Apportionment distributes a whole number of seats to each state where the sum of
the distributions equal to the total number of seats (Young 2004). It is expected that

It used conventional rounding instead of rounding down. Webster s method does not
violate any of the apportionment paradoxes, yet it can rarely violate quota criterion.
In 1941, Huntington Hill method was adopted and is still being used today. The
Huntington Hill method is almost identical to Webster s method (Hodge Klima).
Unlike Webster s method, Huntington Hill method uses geometric mean as cutoff for
rounding quotas. If the quota is greater than the geometric mean of the two nearest
whole numbers, round the quota up, otherwise round it down. If the total number of
seats allocated is too large or small, increase or decrease the divisor to apportion the
exact number of seats. For a quota like 5.482, Huntington Hill method would take the
geometric mean (sqrt(5*6)=5.477) and round it up to 6 because the quota is greater
than the geometric

History of the Viola s Role in Part Writing for Chamber Music
There is considerable debate amongst scholars as to whether the birth of the viola
preceded or succeeded that of the violin. However, iconographic and documentary
evidence indicate that the violin, viola, and cello most likely evolved together as a
family of instruments very early in the sixteenth century and almost certainly in
northern Italy.
Part writing for the viola in chamber music has changed dramatically over time. By
the end of the seventeenth century, while the violin had remained popular in chamber
music, the viola was very much neglected. It was not until the end of the eighteenth ...

The end of the eighteenth century marked a change in the treatment of the viola in
chamber music. The change came about partly because a basic concept of late
eighteenth century chamber music was that a single player played each part (thus
setting chamber music apart from the orchestra where each string part . . . was
played by several players). [2] A greater equality of part writing can be observed in
the mature chamber music, especially string quartets, of Mozart and Beethoven. In
Mozart s last string quartet (K. 590, 1790), the part writing is equalized, and solos
are given to the viola, with a considerable degree of virtuosity demanded of the
instrument. In the passage below, the first violin states the melody and then two bars
later the viola plays the same passage just an octave lower. Example 1. Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart, String Quartet no. 23, k. 590, 1st Movement, mm. 51 54[3]

This example clearly demonstrates equal part writing for the viola with that of the
violin or the other instruments. In conclusion, it is difficult to answer the question as
to why the viola fell out of favor in chamber music from the time period following its
birth in the early sixteenth century to the end of the seventeenth century. One
possible reason is that no parts of

This includes email, chat, voice mail, IVR, outbound dial, CTI integration, URL
browsing, and CRM support. Genesys scores very high marks on email, chat,
voice mail, IVR, and URL browsing. IVR or interactive voice response is a system
that interacts with callers to gather information and to route calls to specific
employees or agents. The Genesys reports that their IVR system can improve
customer experience by reducing live agent calls by 80%, increase automation rate
by 10% with 1.5 million saved annually, and decrease agent talk time by 40% with
their intelligent IVR system. The Genesys IVR system comparable to the Mitel and
Siemens IVR systems, which also scored high marks as well however Genesys edges
out the other two in the other categories. Computer telephony integration is feature
that is also very important for the IP PBX system to support. CTI allows employees
or agents to use their computer to initiate and manage calls. It also allows the
computer to direct calls to the right department. The Genesys SoundBite CTI Connect

attend college, I was given a brand new MacBook as a gift. MacBooks are quite
popular and are everywhere on college campuses so I thought it was great. Sadly, I
was wrong and I couldn t leave windows. A lot of the programs I used were native to
Windows and all my shortcuts were different. I couldn t return the MacBook, and I
didn t want to go through the hassle of selling it so I turned to the third option,
virtualization.
Virtualization is the process of using special software to create a complete
environment. In said environment, a guest operating system can function as though it

Normal operating systems use a supervisor to handle interaction between hardware
and software. A supervisor, or supervisory program, is a program at the operating
system controls the execution of other routines and regulates work scheduling, input
output operations, error actions, and similar functions (atis.org). Virtualization allows
a host to run multiple operating systems at once so it requires something a little bit
more advanced than a supervisor. Virtual machines use a hypervisor, or virtual
machine manager. The hypervisor is used to handle hardware and software
interaction. High end hypervisors allow users to add/remove virtual hard drives,
virtual network cards, virtual RAM, etc. There are many different types of
virtualization. Server virtualization, application virtualization, and storage
virtualization are some of the most common. One of the main reasons people use
virtualization software is because it saves money. If a Mac user needs a Windows
program for work or for school, it would be a lot cheaper for them to use
virtualization software as opposed to buying a Windows computer. Virtualization also
allows for multiple tasks to be done on one system. Instead of having a personal Mac
computer and having a separate Windows computer hosting a server, you can have
the server hosted through a virtualization program. Running servers through
The Theory Of Regression Results
DESCRPTION OF REGRESSION RESULTS
In order to empirically examine the extent to which changes in price causes changes
in broiler (chicken) consumption, time series data was collected on 40 observations
extending from 1960 to 1999 on nine explanatory variables in total. I regressed this
data using an Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) approach. The main explanatory
variable used for my analysis was the consumer price index (CPI) for whole fresh
chicken with the base years denoted as the 1982 to 1984 time period. The
econometric model for my regression analysis is listed below:
Broiler Consumption = a+ОІ_(1 ) (CPI of broilers)+ ОІ_2 (income)+ ОІ_3
(population)+ОІ_(4 ) (CPI for beef)+ОІ_(5 ) (PPI for corn)+ ОІ_(6 ) (NPI for broiler
feed)+ОІ_7 (CPI)+ОІ_8 (AP of Broilers)+ОІ_9 (population)+ОІ_(10 ) (exports of
beef,veal and pork)+ Оµ
Data regarding my dependent variable was originally collected as pounds
consumed per capita. However, I multiplied the per capita broiler consumption
data by 100,000 to obtain broiler consumption in pounds per 100,000 people. In
this way, I was able to obtain a larger coefficient on a few of the variables, which
allowed for a more suitable display and discussion of the results in the paper. Further,
the objective of this analysis was to explain to what extent price of broilers (CPI on
whole fresh chicken) impacts broiler consumption in pounds. Specifically, the
coefficients on the explanatory variables illustrate their respective effects on the
number
Sheldon s Somatotyping
Review Questions
What are the four body types in William H. Sheldon s somatotyping? Describe each
body type and identify which one Sheldon believed was related to delinquency and
crime.
The four body types in William H. Sheldon s somatotyping are endomorphs,
mesomorphs, ectomorphs, and balanced individuals. Endomorphs are individuals
who are overweight with a large stomach. Mesomorphs are individuals who are
muscular and athletic. Ectomorphs are individuals who are thin and frail. Balanced
individuals are not too overweight, thin, or muscular. Sheldon believed the
mesomorph body type was related to delinquency and crime.

Most people understand that violence in media is purely for entertainment, and
excites people. However, individuals with mental difficulties may not understand that
the violence in the media is for entertainment, but rather a calling for the individual
to mimic their violence in the real world. I do not think violence in the media
should be censored unless extreme, such as extreme gore or violence on smaller
children or animals. With proper introduction to the violence, we can identify people
with aggressive behavior before they do any criminal
Purpose And Purpose In The Endurance
How Relationship, Purpose, and Cheerfulness Can Make A Difference To Survive.
The Endurance is about the struggle of 28 men who journey through the Antarctic.
Shackleton was able to recruit men to sail on the Endurance to the Antarctic and
cross by foot. The men were ready for adventure and excited to begin the journey
with haste, not realizing that they were going to encounter the struggles of survival.
There were three ways that they were able to overcome adversity: strong
relationships, purpose, and cheerfulness. Having a strong relationship with peers is
essential for the times of crisis. During the long polar nights, the crew on board the
Belgica suffered from insanity and many lost their lives due to isolation. The
crewmembers that were on the Endurance had the reverse effect. They had the desire
to get to know each other even though their characters were contrasting, and they
began to draw closer to each other by talking and sharing experiences. On the
Belgica, there was no relationship between the men, and even one man feared that his
crewmates wanted to kill him. The crewmembers of the Endurance valued
relationships and were able to survive the polar nights. Even in the Bible, God gave
Adam a wife because He knew that it was better for Adam. In Genesis 2:18 it says,
And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a
helper comparable to him. God created Eve to be with Adam. God knew that it was
better for Adam to have a
Essay On Locavores
Imagining a community in 2020 where the majority of the population were
Locavores is quite difficult due to the fact that modern society has expanded and
is continuing to grow all the time. Locavores are people who only eat food within a
100 mile radius.(source g) The idea of being a locavore is new but slightly
unnecessary due to the era of production our society lives on today. Foods shipped
from far places may be lacking the nutrients that any other fruit or vegetable grown
in a farm closer would have. (source B) But the nutritional differences are marginal ,
it s not much of a difference, not enough to affect a person s health anyways.
Considering the fast paced societies growing today in America, relying on the high
demand farmers would have to meet, can slow down the community s economic
growth speed. In 2020 the society will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Buying locally supports an area s farmers and, in turn, strengthens the community
.(source C) However, the localization of foods would have a negative effect on
farmers who rely on Americans by reducing demand. The decrease in business for
these farmers will cause less crops to be made because, if 90 percent of your
products is no longer being bought, then you re losing money if you make any
more than 10 percent. Another thing food localization will cause is local
businesses outside of these communities, like farmers markets to foreclose,
because farmers will be forced to look for different work. If all the farmers in New
Zealand are focusing on supplying the US than no one is focused on what percent
of foods stay locally in New Zealand. Therefore a major movement towards being a
locavore could have a big, negative effect on major food production across the
country. Many jobs will be lost, many families will be homeless, and many families
will split
Background Briefing Paper Of Jiang Yingwen
Shawn Yang Prof. Hu HIST 12 6/5/16 Background Briefing Paper of Jiang yingwen
Introduction Throughout history, art has played a major role in contributing to the
development of cultures and communities. As one of the foundations of Chinese
culture, this paper contains information about the life and brief of Jiang yingwen, the
protagonist in the novel. This is a story about his effort to establish a new form of
artistic expression in a century of change and transformation.
Abstract
The novel will be centered around the artist, Jiang yingwen, who brought
revolutionary change to China s art culture. Throughout his life, he analyzed and
incorporated western/modern methods into traditional Chinese artwork. He attempted
to make his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the cultural revolution he was sent to the countryside to be reeducated among
many other teachers. Not only does this novel tell about his journey being a modern
Chinese artist, but also depicts the transition of how China s political and cultural
changes throughout time.
Identifying Information Jiang yingwen is a painter, poet and artist who is born on
July 19th 1895 in Shanghai, China. Went to Japan and studied art in 1919, returned
in 1923. He was married when he is 33 to one of his colleagues in Beijing. Upon
marrying, they settled Beijing, Jiang had two sons and one daughter. Jiang passed
away on June 4th 1969 in Beijing.
Living Conditions Born into a middle class family, Jiang s family lives in Song
Jiang one of the suburbs of Shanghai and lived a fairly content life. His father is a
private tutor who teaches painting, poetry and calligraphy. As a result, Jiang is well
mannered and educated. He is exposed to art at an early age, which gave him great
advantage when starting his career as an artist. Jiang s mother was a tailor who
mostly works for upper class clients. This made it easy for the family to make
connections with the nobles and officials of the area. Through such connections, the
family has access to luxury items such as fatty foods and sweet confectioneries .
Those nobles and officials who have the ability to travel through trade ports often
brought art supplies for Jiang s
Disadvantages Of Municipal Fragmentation
Across the globe, governments struggle to sufficiently represent their citizens. The
breaking down of government responsibilities varies between countries, but one
aspect that no country can agree on is what constitutes a municipality and how much
responsibility a municipality should have. Should a cityregion be split into competing
small municipalities, or should there be one municipal governmentfor the entire
region? Across Europe following World War II fragmentation due to land reform was
favoured (Jurgenson, 2016, p. 34) whereas now in present day, consolidation seems to
be more desirable by governments seeking to be more cost efficient (Carmichael
Midwinter, 1999, p. 163). As a means to compromise, city regions should be governed
by a system that incorporates both aspects of fragmentation and consolidation.
Through the analysis of economic effects, government issues, and cultural factors I
will explore the benefits of municipal fragmentation and consolidation. A central
occupation of a municipalityis the distribution of funds to various services.
Municipalities can face several difficulties in regard to their economy because of their
lack of power and responsibilities. Fragmentation could aid municipalities according
to Grassmueck and Shields (2009) in their study Does government fragmentation
enhance or hinder metropolitan economic growth? that suggests that regions with
relatively fragmented governments had stronger relative economic performance over

The Cult Of Mithras And The Roman Empire
We may think that that cult origin by the fact that was taken from relevant scholars,
but the early development has remained consistently disputed. The Cult of Mithras
began in the first century and it was invented by the Roman Empire. When we think
about the first century AD, Christianity is almost very invisible during this time. The
cult of Mithras development is mysterious. This religion is invented by the Italians.
Mithras provides members with sense of salvation if they proceed through the seven
stages of initiation, because the important aspect of the cult is that they must be
successful, and have spiritual bonding with their gods. If they do not success, they
will face some consequences, but members who follow this path will be rewarded
and be offered compensation. In addition, archaeological findings show that the Cult
of Mithras does stay the same from the beginning of first century to the end of fourth
century AD. Archaeological evidence of the cult only depends on the materials that
existed during Roman Empire. One of the most important types of evidence that the
archaeological record shows is the nature and form of where these men worship, a
Mithraeum . Much of this worship buildings can be found in parts of Europe and
they are mostly underground in a cave and are constructed below an existing
building. The first Mithraea and written first appear at the same point in time, and
clearly form part of the same cult even though they are found in geographically

Persuasive Essay Template.pdf

  • 1. Persuasive Essay Template Crafting a persuasive essay template from scratch can be a challenging task that demands careful consideration and planning. First and foremost, one must delve into the intricacies of persuasive writing, understanding how to effectively structure arguments and employ rhetorical devices to sway the audience. This necessitates extensive research to gather credible evidence and examples to support each point. Moreover, constructing a coherent template requires a keen understanding of the essay's purpose and target audience. Tailoring the language and tone to appeal to the intended readership while maintaining a persuasive edge is no small feat. Each section of the template must seamlessly flow into the next, guiding the reader through a logical progression of ideas while building a compelling case. Additionally, striking the right balance between assertiveness and credibility is crucial. Overly aggressive language or unsubstantiated claims can undermine the essay's persuasiveness, while excessive reliance on statistics and facts may alienate readers. Finding the sweet spot where emotion and logic intersect is a delicate dance that demands finesse. Furthermore, ensuring originality and creativity in crafting the template presents another hurdle. With countless persuasive essays already in existence, avoiding clichГ©s and tired arguments requires innovative thinking and a fresh perspective. Striving to offer a unique angle or novel insights adds an extra layer of complexity to the writing process. In conclusion, developing a persuasive essay template from scratch is a formidable undertaking that demands proficiency in persuasive writing techniques, a deep understanding of the target audience, a delicate balance between assertiveness and credibility, and a commitment to originality and creativity. It is a task that requires dedication, meticulous planning, and a willingness to revise and refine until the desired impact is achieved. • 2. Monster By Walter Dean Myers The book I chose is called Monster by Walter Dean Myers. This novel won the Coretta Scott King award , the Printz award , and was also a National Book Award Finalist. Monster is the name and thing that Steve considers himself as he has gotten in a bit of trouble. This novel took place in Harlem New York in mid year of 1997. Steve harmon was in a drug store while some of the people he has been seen around the neighborhood with stuck the place up and murdered the owner of the store in cold blood now he is on trial for Felony 1 murder and this is the story of his trail. Our lives compare to each others in many ways. There are thousands of inferences that could be made Everyone thinks steve is guilty just because he is a black male in an impoverished community. Everyone prejudges him but he is really a nice person at heart. The fact that he new the guys who stuck up the store and killed the owner didn t make it any better. Is it true that majority of the world stereotypes african americans. If you re not an athlete they either think you steal or are a thug and I think that s what everyone thinks about steve besides his own parents. In my opinion the biggest thing that Steve and I have in common is that everyone looks at us as the same person. A lot of people in this world look at young african americans as bad or criminals. That should never be the case but in America that s just how things are. Once people get to know me they realize I am a very nice person with an
  • 3. Ice Cube ( O Shea Jackson Gangsta rap originated in the late 1980 s. Ice Cube (O Shea Jackson) of the rap group NWA (Niggaz with Attitude) wrote the song Gangsta Gangsta, and it shocked America with its violent, sexist, and obscene lyrics. Gangsta Gangsta ushered in a new genre of hip hop music called gangsta rap, which became identified with Compton, a predominately black and Latino working class and working poor neighborhood in Los Angeles . Many people did not agree with the sexist and indecent lyrics in gangsta rap even though the lyrics were telling the story of many people who lived in this reality. Gangsta rap acted as an outlet so such people could express themselves angrily and not in fear that they were going to be silenced for telling the truth. They often used gangsta rap to tell the stories of their lives, which sometimes included strong violence, hypersexuality, and drug abuse. This music style was new and different. Gangsta rap was authentic and helped tell a story with its deep lyrics. During the 1990s, Republican and Democratic politicians and some black leaders blamed, not all hip hop music, but gangsta rap for all of the black communities social problems: drug use, teenage pregnancy, unemployment, gang violence, and high school dropouts. Even though these problems existed in the black community prior to gangsta rap, this music and culture has provided a convenient target to avoid addressing the causes of the real problems of black America: racism, sexism, and poverty .

There are countless terms available to describe who has the most socio political power, the most weathered; the proletariats. In Vladimir Lenin s eyes, in a capitalist society a proletariat is the term used to describe the working class, the class that does not have ownership of any means of production(land and capital) and whose sole income source derives from labor. In fact, the Chinese Revolution was championed by Mao Zedong, a devout believer in the Marxism Leninism revolutionary theories, whom attempted to apply the techniques used by Lenin in the Russian Revolution, adapted slightly to fit China s socio political needs, to his own nation. Both of these revolution s occurred for the same reason; the majority s exasperation in their respective, unequal social structure. Essentially, the working class got tired of being exploited and suppressed by the ruling class, and decided to take a stand against them, as one unit. The Chinese Revolution was similar to the Russian Revolution because, once capitalism reigned globally supreme, the only type of revolt that could occur is the overthrow of capitalism by the conscious revolutionary acts of the proletariat. Therefore, almost all revolutions are based on class conflict and

Analysis Of Joe Turner s Come And Gone Nothing takes away the dignity and self respect of individuals like stripping them of their human characteristics and viewing them as property instead of people. The quickest way to make someone lose his or her direction in life is to destroy the identity he or she worked hard to forge. Through his use of symbolism and indirect characterization, August Wilson establishes his theme that finding and maintaining one s identity is important in life. The title Joe Turner s Come and Gone refers to Joe Turney, the brother of former Tennessee Governor Peter Turney. In the late 19th Century, Joe Turney was responsible for transporting black prisoners from Memphis to the Tennessee State Penitentiary, located in Nashville. However, he would often... This is seen on a historical level, when one considers the detrimental impact Joe Turner s chain gangs had on individuals: he broke each member until they had all forgotten who they were. The loss of individual identity may allude to the fact that members of a chain gang had to work together because they were chained together; they were no longer viewed as individuals but were considered a unit. When viewed as a symbol for oppression, Joe Turner exceeds chain gangs and is found in every level of the lives of African Americans; he is the reason men like Seth are unable to further their businesses, he is the reason police officers abuse their power and arrest innocent black men like Jeremy, and he is the reason families like the Loomis fall apart. On a metaphorical level, the loss of identity could refer to the loss of one s self in the sense of the values one holds dear. Regardless of the dimension in which the loss of individuality is viewed, the central message remains the same: Joe Turner (oppression and the historical figure) preys on the identity of African Americans and works hard to destroy it. Besides symbolism, Wilson uses indirect characterization to describe the different generations that are present in the play and show how each generation struggles to find and

As poetry has evolved from rigidly structured sonnets of the Renaissance to the plethora of imaginative, free verse pieces being produced today, the scope of what the artistic public defines as poetryhas been stretched to encompass a great many things. This new freedom of form does have its limits, however. Take, for example, Claudia Rankine s Citizen: An American Lyric and Kenneth Goldsmith s Seven American Deaths and Disasters. For years, certain countries, as the two listed above cannot maintain a lifestyle with the incomes that are available to them. Using incomes will help to see where the problem is occurring and how it might be approached to aid the countries. Reporting on the countries will give insight into a historical background including independence of the countries, along with education, literacy, life factors, and poverty by using the GINI to show how wide the gaps can be and become. Historical Background In 1946 Chad became an Overseas Territory of France and on August 11, 1960 obtained independence, but short lived, because of a tyrant dictator, Francois Tombalbaye, who never really released them from his grip, and Chad had been in a civil war, until 1990 when Idriss Deby, a military commander, took control and with his rule, multi party politics has returned to Chad, giving some freedoms back to its citizens (Chad s long road to independence, 2010). Papua New Guinea was under the government of Australia, and the UN pushed Australia to give Papua New Guinea independence and help create a group that would be able to run a government through social and educated influences. The carbon dioxide capture using nanostructured membranes is also another way to check the vehicle emissions. In this method single gas separation experiments were carried out using silica modified membranes to study the behavior of individual gas permeation at different pressures and temperatures. 1. Working of nanostructures membranes in capturing CO2 emission. Design and fabrication of porous membranes comprises of many layers of different materials namely: Aluminium Oxide (Al2O3), Titanium Oxide (TiO2), Zirconium Oxide (ZrO2), Silicon Dioxide (SiO2), Silicon Carbide, Zeolite, or a mixture of two materials applied on an underlying porous stainless steel. The manner in which gas molecules flow is generally influenced by three factors: The gas properties, morphology of the membrane and the material used for membrane design. The technology is environment friendly, quite economical and efficient. It is applicable to all forms of CO2 removal from other gases. Nanotechnology is being greatly used in this method of carbon capture. Since 2003 vehicles have been built with on board communications network protocol called CAN (Controlled Area Network).CANbus is basically a bridge between the different modules and how they communicate with each other via the serial data

  • 23. Criteria for Diagnosing Major Depression Disorder Losing a loved one is often a very sad experience. For humans it is natural to mourn the loss of a loved one. Although everyone suffers differently, grief is a universal experience. For most people grief resolves naturally, but some people can face symptoms similar to that of major depression. Although the typical grief period carries on for about two to six months, people can now be diagnosed with major depressive disorderwithin weeks of experiencing symptoms. Even well known psychologists such as Sigmund Freud have stated, ...although mourning involves grave departures from the normal attitude toward life, it never occurs to us to regard it as a pathological condition and to refer it to a medical treatment. We rely on its being overcome after a certain lapse of time, and we look upon any interference with it as useless or even harmful (Shear, 2011). The elimination of the bereavement exclusion from the upcoming Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition will pathologize the normal grief process, which will soon lead to over diagnosis of major depressive disorder and blur the fine line between grief and depression. In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th Edition, the criteria for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) was listed as a loss of interest in daily activities, impaired social, occupational, and educational functioning, and at least 5 of the specific symptoms to appear everyday. • 25. Pop Culture Has Influenced The American Way Pop culture has always influenced the American way. In fact, there is a saying that politics is downstream from culture. What this means is that laws, policies, and guidelines that the government enforces are all influenced by what is being said and done in pop culture. It may be hard to see this example today, but there were certain parts in time where this idea could be easily seen. One of these eras was the 1960s. The 1960s was filled with turbulence. This is because of all of the significant events happening during this time period: the arms race, the space race, the burst of new innovations, and the Cold War. During all of these events, a revolution was beginning in the states. Many people saw what was wrong with the United States, and strived to change it. This is how all sorts of movements began to take place during this time period, like the civil rights movement. All of these movements were to promote social justice. Some pop culture icons of the time voiced their thoughts about this social justice. Three of these icons were influential musicians. These musicians are Janis Joplin, Marvin Gaye, and Bob Dylan. The first of these influential musicians is Janis Joplin. To understand her beliefs and how she became such an inspiration, it is important to look at her upbringing. Janis Joplin was born in Texas in 1943. She was raised in a middle class family during a period of time when racial segregation was prominent. Seeing segregation as an evil that must be gotten

Whether it means giving a speech in front of an audience or dancing on a stage, no one likes it. However, in the novel, The Flamingo Rising, Larry Baker introduces Louise, a different type of person that will do anything to be the center of attention. In Larry Baker s novel, Louise and her brother, Abraham Isaac, start their first day at school at the age of twelve. Louise s limp becomes obvious because she is nervous. It s apparent that Louise s identity has changed from being a shy and isolated girl to someone that wants to have power. In addition, Louise s desire for attention affects how she acts at school and at the Flamingo. On her first day at school, she asked her teacher is this where I sit? (38) even though her teacher clearly stated that seconds ago. She did this not only to draw the embarrassment away but to show something else, her figure. At school, she is considered one of the most popular girls in school because she has breasts (38); the figure of a mature woman. Also, Louise works the concession stand, which is located in the middle of the Flamingo. The concession stand is the place where everyone goes to buy food, drinks, and basically anything one can get at a movie theatre. Since this is located in the middle of the Flamingo, there is a lot of attention there. And who works there? Louise does! It can be seen that Louise wants to be the center of attention. Also, because Abraham and Louise are twins, they have to share some things. One thing Louise hates to share is their birthday. When their birthday is on the same day, it means that their party will be on the same day. One day will not be dedicated to Abraham nor will one day be dedicated to Louise. In the novel, Louise is surprised to hear that Abraham asked her what she will do on her birthday.

A mental ability involved in reasoning, perceiving relationships and analogies, calculating, learning quickly... etc. A number of psychologists have argued that intelligence can be quantified, primarily through testing. In 1905, Alfred Binet and Theodore Simon devised a system for testing intelligence, with scoring based on average mental levels for various age groups. .I.Q(intelligence quotient) in general, is an assessment of your ability to think and reason. IQ score is a standardized way of comparing this ability with the majority of people the same age as you are. A score of 100 means that compared to these people in your general age group that you have basically an average intelligence. Psychologists say those scoring in a range of 95 to 105 are of a normal intelligence or have an average IQ. An IDS is used to detect malicious network traffic and computer usage through attack signatures. The IDS watches for attacks not only from incoming internet traffic but also for attacks that originate in the system. When a potential attack is detected the IDS logs the information and sends an alert to the console. How the alert is detected and handled at is dependent on the type of IDS in place. With NIDS the system attempts to detect threats and attacks, such as denial of service attacks, port scans and attempts to hack into computers by monitoring the network traffic in real time through a promiscuous connection. It does so by first filtering out all known non malicious traffic and then analyzing the remaining incoming packets for suspicious patterns that could be threats. It is not however limited to just analyzing incoming packets, the system also analyzes the outgoing local traffic, in case of an attack/threat that originates inside of the local network. Snort is an example of this. Host based intrusion detection systems unlike network intrusion detection systems, which focus on a computing system s external interfaces, host based systems focus on the monitoring and examination of the computing system s internals. Host based systems are more concerned with the changes in state of a computing system. It detects these changes by analyzing system specific logs either in real time or periodically. When there is any change in the logs the IDS will compare the current configuration of the security policy to the changes and react accordingly. An example of this would be tripwire. However, iconographic and documentary evidence indicate that the violin, viola, and cello most likely evolved together as a family of instruments very early in the sixteenth century and almost certainly in northern Italy. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The end of the eighteenth century marked a change in the treatment of the viola in chamber music. The change came about partly because a basic concept of late eighteenth century chamber music was that a single player played each part (thus setting chamber music apart from the orchestra where each string part . . . was played by several players). [2] A greater equality of part writing can be observed in the mature chamber music, especially string quartets, of Mozart and Beethoven. In Mozart s last string quartet (K. 590, 1790), the part writing is equalized, and solos are given to the viola, with a considerable degree of virtuosity demanded of the instrument. In the passage below, the first violin states the melody and then two bars later the viola plays the same passage just an octave lower. Example 1. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, String Quartet no. 23, k. 590, 1st Movement, mm. 51 54[3] [pic] This example clearly demonstrates equal part writing for the viola with that of the violin or the other instruments. In conclusion, it is difficult to answer the question as to why the viola fell out of favor in chamber music from the time period following its birth in the early sixteenth century to the end of the seventeenth century. One possible reason is that no parts of

High end hypervisors allow users to add/remove virtual hard drives, virtual network cards, virtual RAM, etc. There are many different types of virtualization. Server virtualization, application virtualization, and storage virtualization are some of the most common. One of the main reasons people use virtualization software is because it saves money. If a Mac user needs a Windows program for work or for school, it would be a lot cheaper for them to use virtualization software as opposed to buying a Windows computer. Virtualization also allows for multiple tasks to be done on one system. Instead of having a personal Mac computer and having a separate Windows computer hosting a server, you can have the server hosted through a virtualization program. Running servers through
  • 42. The Theory Of Regression Results DESCRPTION OF REGRESSION RESULTS In order to empirically examine the extent to which changes in price causes changes in broiler (chicken) consumption, time series data was collected on 40 observations extending from 1960 to 1999 on nine explanatory variables in total. I regressed this data using an Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) approach. The main explanatory variable used for my analysis was the consumer price index (CPI) for whole fresh chicken with the base years denoted as the 1982 to 1984 time period. The econometric model for my regression analysis is listed below: Broiler Consumption = a+ОІ_(1 ) (CPI of broilers)+ ОІ_2 (income)+ ОІ_3 (population)+ОІ_(4 ) (CPI for beef)+ОІ_(5 ) (PPI for corn)+ ОІ_(6 ) (NPI for broiler feed)+ОІ_7 (CPI)+ОІ_8 (AP of Broilers)+ОІ_9 (population)+ОІ_(10 ) (exports of beef, veal and pork)+ Оµ Data regarding my dependent variable was originally collected as pounds consumed per capita. However, I multiplied the per capita broiler consumption data by 100,000 to obtain broiler consumption in pounds per 100,000 people. In this way, I was able to obtain a larger coefficient on a few of the variables, which allowed for a more suitable display and discussion of the results in the paper. Further, the objective of this analysis was to explain to what extent price of broilers (CPI on whole fresh chicken) impacts broiler consumption in pounds. Specifically, the coefficients on the explanatory variables illustrate their respective effects on the number

Describe each body type and identify which one Sheldon believed was related to delinquency and crime. The four body types in William H. Sheldon s somatotyping are endomorphs, mesomorphs, ectomorphs, and balanced individuals. Endomorphs are individuals who are overweight with a large stomach. Mesomorphs are individuals who are muscular and athletic. Ectomorphs are individuals who are thin and frail. Balanced individuals are not too overweight, thin, or muscular. However, individuals with mental difficulties may not understand that the violence in the media is for entertainment, but rather a calling for the individual to mimic their violence in the real world. I do not think violence in the media should be censored unless extreme, such as extreme gore or violence on smaller children or animals. With proper introduction to the violence, we can identify people with aggressive behavior before they do any criminal
  • 44. Purpose And Purpose In The Endurance How Relationship, Purpose, and Cheerfulness Can Make A Difference To Survive. The Endurance is about the struggle of 28 men who journey through the Antarctic. Shackleton was able to recruit men to sail on the Endurance to the Antarctic and cross by foot. The men were ready for adventure and excited to begin the journey with haste, not realizing that they were going to encounter the struggles of survival. There were three ways that they were able to overcome adversity: strong relationships, purpose, and cheerfulness. Having a strong relationship with peers is essential for the times of crisis. During the long polar nights, the crew on board the Belgica suffered from insanity and many lost their lives due to isolation. The crewmembers that were on the Endurance had the reverse effect. They had the desire to get to know each other even though their characters were contrasting, and they began to draw closer to each other by talking and sharing experiences. On the Belgica, there was no relationship between the men, and even one man feared that his crewmates wanted to kill him. The crewmembers of the Endurance valued relationships and were able to survive the polar nights. Even in the Bible, God gave Adam a wife because He knew that it was better for Adam. In Genesis 2:18 it says, And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him. God created Eve to be with Adam. God knew that it was better for Adam to have a

Essay On Locavores Imagining a community in 2020 where the majority of the population were Locavores is quite difficult due to the fact that modern society has expanded and is continuing to grow all the time. Locavores are people who only eat food within a 100 mile radius.(source g) The idea of being a locavore is new but slightly unnecessary due to the era of production our society lives on today. Foods shipped from far places may be lacking the nutrients that any other fruit or vegetable grown in a farm closer would have. (source B) But the nutritional differences are marginal , it s not much of a difference, not enough to affect a person s health anyways. Considering the fast paced societies growing today in America, relying on the high demand farmers would have to meet, can slow down the community s economic growth speed. In 2020 the society will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Buying locally supports an area s farmers and, in turn, strengthens the community .(source C) However, the localization of foods would have a negative effect on farmers who rely on Americans by reducing demand. The decrease in business for these farmers will cause less crops to be made because, if 90 percent of your products is no longer being bought, then you re losing money if you make any more than 10 percent. Another thing food localization will cause is local businesses outside of these communities, like farmers markets to foreclose, because farmers will be forced to look for different work. If all the farmers in New Zealand are focusing on supplying the US than no one is focused on what percent of foods stay locally in New Zealand. Therefore a major movement towards being a locavore could have a big, negative effect on major food production across the country. Many jobs will be lost, many families will be homeless, and many families will split

  • 47. Disadvantages Of Municipal Fragmentation Across the globe, governments struggle to sufficiently represent their citizens. The breaking down of government responsibilities varies between countries, but one aspect that no country can agree on is what constitutes a municipality and how much responsibility a municipality should have. Should a cityregion be split into competing small municipalities, or should there be one municipal governmentfor the entire region? Across Europe following World War II fragmentation due to land reform was favoured (Jurgenson, 2016, p. 34) whereas now in present day, consolidation seems to be more desirable by governments seeking to be more cost efficient (Carmichael Midwinter, 1999, p. 163). As a means to compromise, city regions should be governed by a system that incorporates both aspects of fragmentation and consolidation. Through the analysis of economic effects, government issues, and cultural factors I will explore the benefits of municipal fragmentation and consolidation. A central occupation of a municipalityis the distribution of funds to various services. Municipalities can face several difficulties in regard to their economy because of their lack of power and responsibilities. Fragmentation could aid municipalities according to Grassmueck and Shields (2009) in their study Does government fragmentation enhance or hinder metropolitan economic growth? that suggests that regions with relatively fragmented governments had stronger relative economic performance over the
  • 48. The Cult Of Mithras And The Roman Empire We may think that that cult origin by the fact that was taken from relevant scholars, but the early development has remained consistently disputed. The Cult of Mithras began in the first century and it was invented by the Roman Empire. When we think about the first century AD, Christianity is almost very invisible during this time. The cult of Mithras development is mysterious. This religion is invented by the Italians. Mithras provides members with sense of salvation if they proceed through the seven stages of initiation, because the important aspect of the cult is that they must be successful, and have spiritual bonding with their gods. If they do not success, they will face some consequences, but members who follow this path will be rewarded and be offered compensation. In addition, archaeological findings show that the Cult of Mithras does stay the same from the beginning of first century to the end of fourth century AD. Archaeological evidence of the cult only depends on the materials that existed during Roman Empire. One of the most important types of evidence that the archaeological record shows is the nature and form of where these men worship, a Mithraeum . Much of this worship buildings can be found in parts of Europe and they are mostly underground in a cave and are constructed below an existing building. The first Mithraea and written first appear at the same point in time, and clearly form part of the same cult even though they are found in geographically
