Electromagnetic Radiation Lab
During this experiment/lab we had to undergo a process that would create our own calorimeter and
increasing the total energy captured. By using 80ml of water in the breaker having two holes for the
thermometer and for the air to escape. The thermometer came through the top and the cup covered of
the beaker at the bottom. We had the option to pick a Styrofoam cup or a Soda Can. Our group picked
the Styrofoam. So we covered the cup in aluminum inside and out. When combusting the chip we
determined that the total energy captured increased.
Secondly we have Electromagnetic Radiation. Basically the study of Electromagnetic Radiation is
dealing with how much electrically charged particles come together with each other with Magnetic

Border Wall Research Paper
Research Paper Often times current events and issues can be linked to events throughout history; one
situation in particular regarding border walls has gone through trial and error. A border wall is simply
a wall along the border surrounding a country or state, although the complications that encompass it
are anything but similar. Border walls have been built to defend or punish a country, but in modern
time it s main use is to maintain illegal immigration. The leading Republican Presidential candidate
promises to build a wall along the border separating the United States and Mexico if he gains
presidency. How does he plan on paying for this? He doesn t; Donald Trump has publicly announced
that he plans on forcing Mexico to fund said wall. It goes without saying that there is a vast amount of
controversy behind this topic of discussion.
The Great Wall of China is a wall approximately 13,171 miles long, constructed in the seventh century
BC in order to protect its people from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In many cases, the walls ended up in ruins whether from invaders or outrage of citizens. As
aforementioned, current presidential front runner Donald Trump aims to build a massive wall to
separate Mexico and the United States. There are many problems, however that go along with this
plan. The cost is simply too high, and it is unrealistic to genuinely expect the citizens of Mexico to pay
for it. This demand has sparked an outrage and an absolute refusal to cover the cost of the wall. Aside
from cost, there are other issues at hand. The sad reality is that the border region is still viewed as a
barren land, with no history, no culture, not inhabited (Hong). To separate two countries is to strip
away the culture and communication. The United States is a country built on other cultures, it is what
keeps this nation colorful and lively. It is the foundation of who we

Florida State University SWOT Analysis
Assessing Culture Higher education institutions must continually change to adapt to environmental
trends, and the SWOT analysis can help administrators to plan and act quickly to stop potential
problems (Pucciarelli Kaplan, 2016). The SWOT analysis is based on strengths, weakness,
opportunities, and threats of the internal and external environment (Addams Allred, 2013). By
conducting a SWOT analysis, the institution can design strategies and policies for the institution
(Verboncu Condurache, 2016). SWOT analysis provides information that is effective and efficient at
the time for the institution and identifies areas for improvement (Verboncu Condurache, 2016). This

There have been complaints about how long it takes the financial aid department to process the
paperwork and about questions not being answered. Several dormitories need to be upgraded. General
advising is unproductive. Faculty are used to advise students, and some faculty have been
misinforming students. More advisors are needed to advise the students. There is not enough parking
on campus. There is no room for the university to expand on campus.
Opportunities
Since more people are looking for a mid career change and life long learning, there is growth potential
in this area. Online education is becoming more popular and meets the needs of individuals, so there is
growth potential in this area. The entrepreneurship school is expanding its courses to all programs in
the university. Partnerships with businesses will increase and provide students with more internship
opportunities. Individuals in different fields will be mentors to students. The University could increase
enrollment numbers by accepting more out of state students.

Tax Treatment of Gambling Loss as in Tschetschot Case
Abstract
In Tschetschot v. Commissioner, 93 TCM 914 (2007), the tax court ruled that taxpayer s losses from
participating in tournament poker were limited to the amount of her winnings. The court held that
tournament poker is, despite its differences from other types of poker, essentially a wagering activity
and therefore should not be treated differently from other forms of gambling for tax purposes. The
court also rejected the taxpayer s equal protection argument to treat tournament poker as sports, on the
basis of the policy decisions of the congress to treat business based on wagering activities differently.

sites attract ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Commissioner
The facts in Tschetschot were quite simple, and there was not any dispute regarding them. It is
nevertheless helpful to single out the facts that are more relevant to the issue on hand, which would
help in following the court s reasoning in reaching its holdings.
Mrs. Tschetschot works as a database project manager, and was also a professional tournament poker
player in 2000. She then claimed a net loss from her tournament poker activity as business losses on
her Schedule C. The commissioner determined that this deduction related to the tournament poker
should be subject to the limitation provided in Code §165(d) as an itemized deduction, to the extent of
the Mrs. Tschetschot s winnings. Based on that, the commissioner assessed a deficiency of income tax
as well as an accuracy related penalty under Code §6662(a).
The tax court ruled in favor of the commissioner, rejecting the petitioner s argument that tournament
poker, unlike other types of poker, is not a wagering activity. The court reached its decision by first
defining the term wagering using the term s plain, obvious, and rational meaning. Therefore, the court
adopted the dictionary meaning of to wager, which is defined as to bet or the act of betting. Based on
this, the court concluded that while there are differences between tournament poker and other types of
poker, none rise to the level of meaningful, substantive differences that would warrant different tax
treatment under the

Napoleon Bonaparte Comparison
Napoleon Bonaparte and Robert Mugabe were both dictators that maintained an iron fist rule on their
respective countries, France and Zimbabwe. In times of oppression and hardship seemingly strong
leaders take up the mantle of becoming what seems like a revolutionary hero. In the case of Napoleon
this meant ousting the dysfunctional rule of the Directory in revolutionary France. His campaign for
power followed a rule of a tyrannical madman by the name of Robespierre, who ushered an age of
absolute peril and most heinous of atrocities, murder. Countless of heads poured down the French
streets during the Age of Terror. Although the Directory followed Robespierre s rule, there was little
they did to help France recuperate. Needless to say France was in absolute chaos. But a savior by the
name of Napoleon stood up to rescue the French people in their time of most need bringing lasting
justice in the form of the Napoleonic code, religious freedom, and education reforms that still lasts
into present time. Similarly, Mugabe was once celebrated as a revolutionary war hero in a perceived
era of oppression by the British. Together Mugabe and the ZANU PF(Zimbabwe African National
Union Patriotic Front) emancipated the people of Zimbabwe of their colonial chains of oppression in
1980. However, unlike Napoleon Mugabe brought economic ruin, genocide, and racial injustice to
Zimbabwe. Therefore, Napoleon was a just ruler that did more good than harm for France but Mugabe
is a tyrant that

My Community Service Hours, By Paul Magedson
For my community service hours, I went to the Good Earth Organic Farm in Celeste, TX owned by
Paul Magedson. It is a certified organic farm that prides itself on not using extensive herbicide and
pesticide use[d] by intensive conventional agriculture (Andreatta 2000 p.40). Paul s farm grows and
sells organic produce such as cucumbers, strawberries, okra, kale, and tomatoes. He sells grass fed
lamb from the sheep has raises on his farm and he also has chickens. To complete my hours, I went on
two trips to the farm. Our first task was to pick okra and I instantly realized why farmers are known to
have tough hands. As a half hour into picking okra I had two large blisters on both my thumbs. After
picking the okra we weeded the tomato garden. This is where I began to understand just how hard
farming is, since weeding in the hot Texas is tiring. Once we were done weeding, Paul served us lunch
of a fruit smoothie and kale salad. Once we got our lunch we all sat on his porch and discussed how
Paul started farming and his views on industrialized food. Paul began farming because of his ex wife,
which I think made him regret farming as he talked about if he knew how hard farming was he would
not have started his own farm business. However, he did have a passion for growing organic food as
he believed the reason we are getting cancer is because of all the chemical in our food. After lunch
was done he took us to see sheep and I was amazed at how many of them there were. We learned

Differences Between An Imperative Programming Language And...
Describe the differences between an imperative programming language and a non imperative
programming language. Imperative languages are based on the sequential execution of instructions
that direct the computer system what steps to take in order to come up with a solution to a problem.
This is achieved by the programmer setting states, such as assigning data to memory, altering states,
and controlling the sequence of instructions (University of the People, n.d.). In order to achieve this,
the programmer must have a complete plan of the process the computer will use achieve a solution.
Issues that can arise with imperative languages are side effects caused by the status of states being
altered in some unintentional fashion because the computer is executing the instructions, as outlined,
by the programmer. In non imperative languages, the necessity of controlling the sequence of
execution is less important. Attention in the language is instead focused on what data is needed, what
the problem is, and what result output you are looking for. The programmer needs to be able to define
the problem and result for which they are seeking a solution, but the computer decides, based on built
in functions of the language, how to return the solution to the problem. As no states are altered as part
of non imperative languages programs, there are no issues with side effects (University of the People,
n.d.). Discuss an example of where you would use an imperative language and a situation

Reconstruction Era Essay
The Reconstruction Era
America s great Reconstruction Era took place in the 1865 1877 time frame lasting a little over 14
years containing some of the most important moments in America s history. Creating freedom and
natural rights to all. The Thirteenth, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendment were created in this item
period supporting most reasoning towards the Reconstruction Era introducing a series of laws and
constitutional amendments to try to secure civil and political rights for black people
The Thirteenth Amendment was one of the most influential amendments to have ever been passed in
our country and meant an ending to slavery. It passed by the Senate on April 8th in 1864 and by the

President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1st in 1863 announcing that all
people held as slaves shall be free. Lincoln hoped to inspire all blacks and slaves in the Confederacy
even though the proclamation was limited in many ways. It applied only to states that had seceded
from the Union, leaving slavery untouched in the loyal border states. While the freedom was promised
depended upon the Union military victory. The Emancipation Proclamation did not end slavery in the
nation but shaped the reasoning for war. Approximately 200,000 black soldiers and sailors had fought
for freedom and the Union. This confirmed the battle a war for freedom. For all that the Emancipation
Proclamation did for freedom, it is now taken place among the great documents of human freedom.
This amendment effected our nation in many ways. It negatively affected families and friends
relationships by choosing their own sides of the wars and what they felt were right. Some white
farmers had to sell their farms due to losing slave workers and most whites were unhappy. By
abolishing slavery we were able to make many positive changes as well including the economy. Many
job opportunities opened up for white people due to the lack of slaves while blacks had a hard time
finding jobs at first but were even able to eventually find jobs for themselves(ushistory.org,2008
2017). As

Gel Filtration Lab Report
Gel Filtration and SDS PAGE of a Mixture OBJECTIVE. I This Lab Report is an analysis of the
results of a two part experiment. In the first part, we used a gel filtration column to separate the
components of a mixture composed of protein and non protein molecules. By doing so we hoped to
obtain fractions that contained single components of the mixture, while also gaining insight into the
relative molecular weight of each component compared to each other. We would then plot these
fractions onto nitrocellulose paper in order to determine which fractions had protein. In the second
part, we would use the fractions which we had determined had protein to conduct an SDS PAGE. By
doing so we hoped to determine an estimate on the molecular weight of the proteins present in each
fraction by comparing it to a tracker dye composed of a variety of molecules of differing molecular
weight. METHODS. II In the gel filtration step, we began with a slurry of Bio Gel P 100 beads
suspended in 20 mM phosphate buffer (Equilibration buffer) and an upright column with a stopcock.
We added enough of the Bio Gel P 100 beads to the column until we reached a height of 4.7 cm,
making sure not to allow the column to run dry and that the top of the beads column is flat. We then
added the sample, a mixture of Blue Dextran (2 mg/ml, 2 MDa), Hemoglobin (2 mg/ml), Bovine
Serum Albumin (2 mg/ml), and Yellow Food Coloring (5 μl/ml, ~500 Da) (Sheffield, 37). This was
followed by another ~1 ml of equilibration

Prosecuting Attorneys
What are the duties of a prosecutor? The prosecutor has broad discretion in determining whether or
not to charge the accused of a particular crime. Depending on the size of the municipality a prosecutor
serves, job duties can vary. In larger offices, prosecuting attorneys may be assigned to specific areas of
the law, such as traffic violations or juvenile offenses. In smaller offices, they may be responsible for
all aspects of criminal prosecution.
Prosecuting attorneys begin a case by reviewing police reports and performing research. They may
meet with witnesses or victims. They use their gathered information in court to present the case
against the accused defendant. Prosecuting attorneys must follow cases through each stage of the

Negotiations of the Cuban Missile Crisis
Introduction By 1962, the Soviet Union was considerably behind the United States in the nuclear arms
race. The Soviet Union had limited range missiles that were only capable of being launched against
Europe, but the United States possessed missiles that were capable of striking anywhere within the
entire Soviet Union. As it is often said, when it comes to national security, leaders sometimes make
irrational decisions. In an effort to restore the balance of power Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev
devised the idea of placing intermediate range missiles in Cuba (14 days in October). This deployment
of weapons in Cuba would double the Soviet strategic arsenal and provide a credible deterrent to a
potential U.S. attack against the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He did this despite never getting formal guarantees that the United States would not invade Cuba. This
paper will focus on three two negotiations that comprised the Cuban Missile Crisis:
U.S. President Kennedy vs. Soviet Union Premier Nikita Khrushchev
U.S. President Kennedy vs. Own advisors (EX COMM) U.S. President Kennedy vs. Soviet Union
Premier Nikita Khrushchev
Cross Cultural Negotiations The biggest obstacle that the Soviets and Americans faced in dealing with
this crisis was the added difficulty imposed by cross cultural negotiations. This added burden further
magnified the differences in thinking, feeling and behaving between the two countries. The table
above illustrates the national style in negotiation faced by the United States and Soviet Union. Both
the Americans and Soviets had to take into account each other style to eventually reach an agreement.
Even though Cuba was at the center of this debate, it played a minor roll in the negotiations between
the US and Soviet Union. This national style of negotiation may have contributed to the crisis through
the actions or lack of actions perceived by the Soviets. For example, in June of 1961 and during the
early months in office, President Kennedy attended a summit with Premier Khrushchev in Vienna to
discuss cold war confrontations between the east and west, in particular the situation in Berlin. The
failure of the two leaders to reach any

varmint scope and varmint caliber available, you should read this review.
Best Rifle Scope and Caliber for Varmint Hunting
When it comes to varmint hunting all bets are off. You need a gun that can handle shots that are close
up and far away if you want to catch an animal that depends on its own senses to keep it alive or out of
danger. If they sense you are there, they will take off running and it really does not matter whether you
are battling coyotes on your farm or out in the wild. Therefore, if you want a good rifle to catch them,
you need to know that your rifle provides ample power and one that you can feel certain is always

Many people suggest that you do not go with a cheap scope because it may not allow you to aim
quickly, but this does not mean you need to purchase one that has all the unique features that are
available today for scopes. This means you could pay anywhere from $100 to a $1000, but unless you
have a huge varmint problem or it is the only hunting you are interested in, you may not need the
scopes that are over a grand. It is also perhaps why one of the most popular scopes for varmint hunting
is nowhere near that pricy. If you want to see more about the average price, you should look at the

What Is The Secret Of Prosperity
The Secret Of Prosperity The Secret of Prosperity is a very simple one. It is so simple that the people
do not realize it. Many people do a lot of work throughout the day and do not find blessings in their
work. Some people find that whatever they touch prospers. The secret is given by the psalmist in
Psalm 1: 1 3. Blessed is the man whose delight is in the Law of the Lord and in His law he meditates
day and night. It is not possible to read the Bible day and night all the time. But meditating in the Law
of the Lord means that he should compare his thoughts, words and deeds with the Law and
commandments of the Lord always. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water which brings
forth its fruit in its season. His leaf also shall not wither. People expect the fruit of the blessings of
God the moment they decide for the Lord. But there is a season for bringing forth the fruit. And above

Bird With The Crystal Plumage
Dario Argento s Bird with the Crystal Plumage is a film about the relationship between art and
violence which utilizes themes of spectacle and entrapment to illustrate how art serves as a
distortionary medium which reflects and confuses concepts of gender, sexuality, and power.
From the very onset of the film, Bird with the Crystal Plumage demonstrates artistry as a means of
brutalization by depicting the camera as something voyeuristic and predatory. Opening with a shot of
the instantly recognizable black gloves infamous in gialli films (Mackenzie 17), the introductory
sequence follows a young woman quite literally through the frame of a camera. In a series of four

series of knives. As the murderer wipes down the length of the blade, the camera cuts again to a shot
of the gloved hands handling the photographs. The juxtaposition of these shots provides a powerful

Piaget s Stages Of Cognitive Development
From the set of responses given from the surveyed students to the chosen proverbs, it would appear
that responses provided by children younger than middle school age are more literal responses to the
proverb, whilst responses from the middle school age and beyond show comprehension of the
proverb, as this is when elaborate explanation of the proverbs begins. Generally, this conforms with
Piaget s stages of cognitive development; that abstract thought processes accompany the formal
operations stage from ages 10 12, and is absent from children aged 9 or younger in the concrete
operations stage, where responses were generally more literal applications of the proverb. Students in
the qualitive dataset were asked to respond to one of five proverbs, ... Show more content on

Responses to the first proverb from our surveyed people in the Pre K/Kindergarten and Primary
groups are quite literal responses. One student aged 4 responded A thousand miles? Somebody is
going to walk a lot! , with many responses reacting similarly through the primary school age. This
would seem to indicate that most children, up until ages 9 10 don t comprehend the idiomatic
language of the proverb, and are responding in terms of what they can concretely comprehend the
thousand mile distance in the proverb. Responses in the middle school age group tend to show a
comprehension of the idiomatic language, and begin to explain that the expression is not about a
distance, but a goal to be reached. One student, aged 9, responded to the expression by saying You
have to start so you can get somewhere . While this analysis is basic, and while the student s
comprehension is ambiguous due to the word somewhere having a connotation involving a destination
or distance, the explanations from here onward rely less and less upon the word miles , and breaks
down the meaning of the expression. I believe that the nine year old understood the expression s
idiomatic language, as students close to his age begin to provide similar responses. One student, aged
12, replied Big things happen with smaller steps. , again signifying a comprehension of the proverb
that touches upon it s idiomatic meaning as opposed to its literal meaning as

Sacrifices
Hello, my name is Villette Jones and I am here to give my thoughts, definition, and analysis on
Sacrifice. Sacrifice has many different meaning and even more synonyms to go along with it, a few
words or phrases that catch my immediate attention when thinking of Sacrifice are ( Cede, Immolate,
Endure, and Part With ). However when I asked associates and my peers majority of them thought of
Forfeit. When I take time to really think, in my own opinion Sacrifice is Forfeit, Suffering, and
Offering. These are very significant second hand words to my original word (Sacrifice), and as you
read along I will show you exactly what I mean by it.
The meaning I get from the word Forfeit is Loses, a Penalty, and being deprived of something. Forfeit
is such a major second hand word to Sacrifice and the reason forfeiting is so major, is because
majority of the time you re losing something of significant value. A great story of someone having to
forfeit something for a greater cause is Everett Alvarez Jr. Alvarez Jr is a former U.S Navy
Commander who endured one of the longest periods as a prisoner of war (P.O.W) in American
military history. Alvarez was the first U.S pilot to be downed and detained during the Vietnam War

Julius Caesar Omens Essay
By: Phillip Gigliotti Omens Are Not To Be Ignored A sign of the future of good or evil is considered
to be an omen. Plenty of omens are displayed throughout the Tragedy of Julius Caesar, written by
Shakespeare. If these omens are ignored negativity is often the only outcome for the character as
demonstrated in the play. Some of these omens include Caesar ignoring Calpurnia s unpleasant dream
and his servant s simple warning. Cassius disagrees with Casca s statement of the god s anger toward
Caesar s death and he allows Antony to live. Brutus disapproves of Cassius s consent to prevent
Antony from speaking at Caesars funeral and Brutus agrees to the ghost s demands. Caesar, Cassius,

Cassius explains, Marc Antony, so well beloved of Caesar, should outlive Caesar... as to annoy us all :
which to prevent, let Antony and Caesar fall together. (Shakespeare, 2.1,154 161) Cassius states that
he wants Caesar dead, but never follows through with his plans. If Cassius were to only ignore Brutus
s opinion about Antony living he would not have to realize the truth during Antony s speech about
what the conspirators did to Caesar and how it was wrong. Since Cassius ignores his own omen about
taking out Antony he later regret s it because it is what leads Cassius to his suicide. Cassius disregards
Casca s warning of the God s disappointment during the storm and fails to assassinate Antony along
with Caesar. Clearly this proves that Cassius overlooks omens which significantly affects his life as he
was soon led to suicide. Alternatively, Marcus Brutus does not acknowledge various omens which
later become reasons for his demise near the time of his death. Brutus disagrees with Cassius s consent
to prevent Antony from speaking at Caesar s funeral and Brutus agrees to go where the ghost requests.
Brutus engages in a quick conversation with Cassius where he allows Antony to speak at Caesar s
funeral. Cassius disapproves of Brutus decision because he believes it may cause the people of Rome
to realize that the conspirators were in fact murders. Cassius states, You know not what you do: do not

The claim: Metals are the most useful substances
Research question: How does the properties of Platinum enhance its usefulness when it comes to
playing a role in pharmaceutical and surgical treatments?
Rationale:
Platinum is utilized extensively over a range of different items, from catalytic converters in our cars to
the pretty rings that we wear on our fingers. It is more importantly used in many treatments that are
used on our bodies in cases where we are ill or injured. Medicinal actions are undertaken every single
day. The world is dependent on the treatments that the medical field supplies. The claim that metals

This allows it to interact with other atoms in many ways. This is very significant when Platinum is
used in anticancer drugs for chemotherapy. Cisplatin is a Platinum based drug and is one of the oldest
and most successful anticancer drug in the history of chemo prescriptions. The molecule structure of
DNA is very important for the interaction of Cisplatin. It is a double helix and is held together by
building blocks, scientifically known as nucleotides. Through the bases of DNA, Platinum is then able
to its job. The drug reacts in a displacement reaction. The chlorine atoms that are in our bodies are
displaced by the aqua ligand, a coordination compound of metal ions and water, which is the displaced
by the nitrogen in the DNA. The cisplastin then is left to interact with the DNA and creates two cross
link stands. Repairing mechanisms in the body then separate the cisplastin from the DNA which then
causes the damage of the unhealthy cells. (Carmen Drahl 2017) this is shown in fig

How The Blood Type Of Blood
Abstract During this lab, students will learn how to perform a process as if it was a real blood test.
Working with four different synthetic blood samples, they will use synthetic antisera to the A, B, and
Rh antigens on red blood cells. Students are able to identify the blood type of each blood sample and
how the blood type is determined.
Introduction The blood is a very important fluid of our body that has many different ways that keep us
healthy. It transports important nutrients and oxygen to our cells and acts in the process of removing
wastes and carbon dioxide from the body.( American Society of Hematology . n.d.) Also, this
specialized fluid helps in defending the body by forming blood clots as a result of a wounded blood
vessel and carrying various cells that are crucial to our health. An average human body s weight is
made of seven to eight percent blood.( American Society of Hematology . n.d.) The blood is made of
different components that perform different actions. It is made of 55 percent plasma and 45 percent
cells. ( American Society of Hematology . n.d.) The blood is liquidy due to the presence of plasma. It
is composed of water, proteins, fats, and salts. The plasma is crucial in transporting the blood cells and
bring waste products to be removed from the body to the kidney and liver. ( American Society of
Hematology . n.d.) The blood cells are main components of the blood and have distinct purposes. Red

Determining The Unknown Concentration Of Cobalt (II) Solution
The goal of the experiment was to determine the unknown concentration of the provided Cobalt (II)
solution by using a spectrophotometer/colorimeter. The spectrophotometer was used on the unknown
solution to find the concentration of Cobalt (II). The concepts used from Beer Lambert s Law are the
absorbance and concentration of the tested solution. The equation is A=EbC. A equals absorbance, E is
the constant when identifying the species measuring the wavelength, b is the thickness of the solution,
and C is the concentration of the solution. E and b are both constant, which makes the concentration
and the absorbance directly proportional. Results resembled the standard curve and the connection of

transmittance recording it to three decimal places. Next, the unknown solution of Cobalt (II) was
placed in a 100 mL beaker and the DI water was placed in a smaller beaker to make transferring the
solutions easier. For the process of transferring each solution smoothly, a pipette will be used to place
the unknown solution and DI water into the 10 mL graduated cylinder. First, 100% of the unknown
concentration should be placed in a test tube ready to be put in the spectroscopy. Then, using a clean
pipette fill the graduated cylinder with 9 mL of the unknown solution and fill the rest with DI water
using a different clean pipette until 10 mL is reached. The concentration solution is 90%, and 10% is
the DI water which makes the new mixture. The mixture that was just made will then be poured into a
test tube that is beside the 100% concentration of the unknown solution. The process will then be
continued by pouring 8 mL unknown solution and 2 mL of DI water into the 10 mL graduated cylinder
to get 80% concentration solution; which is poured in the test tube that will be placed by the 90%
concentration test tube. Again, 7 mL of the unknown solution will be placed in the graduated cylinder
along with 3 mL of DI water, which makes 70% concentration solution and 30% DI water. The
solution will then be poured into a test tube and placed by the 80% concentration. Then, 6 mL of
Cobalt (II) unknown solution was placed with a pipette into the 10 mL graduated cylinder with 4 mL
of DI water. Which makes 60% of concentration solution and 40% DI water, and pour the new mixture

better. Dan had the chance to rethink his ways, his actions and do the right things. Throughout the
movie it was Dan v.s his alter ego, but that changed when he meets a man named Socrates. In the

his routine. While Dan was on the rings everything was rushing through his head, he was not focused,
he was not determined to land the flip. Dan thought he could make the flip not matter what, but he did

Hip Hop Cultural Movement
Hip Hop is both a cultural movement as well as a music genre. Hip hop originated in the
predominantly African American economically depressed South Bronx section of New York City in
the late 1970s. As the hip hop movement began at society s margins, its origins are shrouded in myth,
enigma, and obfuscation. (Alan Light, 2016). In the mid 1980s the next wave of rappers, the new

The Essentials of Holistic Health Life force energy:
The source of human life comes from an integrated and intelligent energy known as life force energy,
which sustains the life of body organs, cells, and tissues, as well as supports the spiritual entity of the
soul. This invisible life force energy flows freely throughout the body to give an individual not only
health and vitality by efficiently transporting oxygen and nutrients to different parts of the body, but
also an expression of the inner self. The flow of this life giving energy follows an organized pattern by
way of meridians connecting different parts of the human body. This life force energy has different
names for different cultures: the Chinese call it qi; the Japanese, lei; the Hindus, prana; and the
Greeks, pneuma. But they all mean the same thing: the essence of life.

in nutrients intake, and accumulation of waste products produced, and hence the beginning of

Test Crt Should Be Used Rather Than Norm Referenced Tests
Criterion Referenced Tests CRT Should Be Used Rather Than Norm Referenced Tests NRT The
assessment looks at the wide variety of methods that educators use to evaluate and determined the
achievement of the student s educational need. The focus of this essay is to look at the Criterion
Referenced Tests (CRT) and the Norm Referenced Tests (NRT) usage to see why the Criterion
Referenced Tests should be used rather than the Norm Referenced Tests. The learning standards and
the curriculum will be discussed to help determine why the CRT should be used rather than the NRT.
Also, we will take a look at the principal use of how the two methods differ by one using survey
testing and the other mastery testing. I will give my informed opinion throughout the essay. The
Criterion Referenced Tests measure the performance against a fix set of predetermined learning
standards. This means that there will be written descriptions of what students are expected to know
and are able to do in each learning outcome unit stage in the course. This method of assessment is
done to evaluate what skills the student has learned. The learning standards will measure how well a
student has mastered the specific skill described in the national learning standards (Waugh Gronlund,
2013). Since the teachers and the schools can develop their own learning standards, this will help the
students to be able to accomplish the learning objective performance outcome expected in my opinion.

Symbolism In John Steinbeck s The Chrysanthemums
John Steinbeck s The Chrysanthemums is a great short story filled with symbols. Symbolism is the art
or practice of using symbols especially by investing things with a symbolic meaning or by expressing
the invisible or intangible by means of visible or sensuous representations: such as an artistic imitation
or invention that is a method of revealing or suggesting immaterial, ideal, or otherwise intangible truth
or states (Symbolism, n.d.). Steinbeck used symbolism throughout this work to create emotions and
meanings. The Chrysanthemums takes place in Salina s Valley during the winter month of December
1938. This story is focused on the relationship between Elisa Allen and her husband, Henry Allen. As
the story opens, Elisa is on her husband s ranch pridefully cutting down chrysanthemums in the
garden. Her husband comes to praise her on how well she works with the flowers as she congratulates

  • 2. Electromagnetic Radiation Lab During this experiment/lab we had to undergo a process that would create our own calorimeter and increasing the total energy captured. By using 80ml of water in the breaker having two holes for the thermometer and for the air to escape. The thermometer came through the top and the cup covered of the beaker at the bottom. We had the option to pick a Styrofoam cup or a Soda Can. Our group picked the Styrofoam. So we covered the cup in aluminum inside and out. When combusting the chip we determined that the total energy captured increased. Secondly we have Electromagnetic Radiation. • 3. Border Wall Research Paper Research Paper Often times current events and issues can be linked to events throughout history; one situation in particular regarding border walls has gone through trial and error. A border wall is simply a wall along the border surrounding a country or state, although the complications that encompass it are anything but similar. Border walls have been built to defend or punish a country, but in modern time it s main use is to maintain illegal immigration. The leading Republican Presidential candidate promises to build a wall along the border separating the United States and Mexico if he gains presidency. How does he plan on paying for this? He doesn t; Donald Trump has publicly announced that he plans on forcing Mexico to fund said wall. It goes without saying that there is a vast amount of controversy behind this topic of discussion. The Great Wall of China is a wall approximately 13,171 miles long, constructed in the seventh century BC in order to protect its people from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In many cases, the walls ended up in ruins whether from invaders or outrage of citizens. As aforementioned, current presidential front runner Donald Trump aims to build a massive wall to separate Mexico and the United States. There are many problems, however that go along with this plan. The cost is simply too high, and it is unrealistic to genuinely expect the citizens of Mexico to pay for it. This demand has sparked an outrage and an absolute refusal to cover the cost of the wall. Aside from cost, there are other issues at hand. The sad reality is that the border region is still viewed as a barren land, with no history, no culture, not inhabited (Hong). To separate two countries is to strip away the culture and communication. The United States is a country built on other cultures, it is what keeps this nation colorful and lively. It is the foundation of who we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Tax Treatment of Gambling Loss as in Tschetschot Case Abstract In Tschetschot v. Commissioner, 93 TCM 914 (2007), the tax court ruled that taxpayer s losses from participating in tournament poker were limited to the amount of her winnings. The court held that tournament poker is, despite its differences from other types of poker, essentially a wagering activity and therefore should not be treated differently from other forms of gambling for tax purposes. The court also rejected the taxpayer s equal protection argument to treat tournament poker as sports, on the basis of the policy decisions of the congress to treat business based on wagering activities differently. Introduction Gambling is becoming increasingly popular in today s society. Major casinos and online gambling sites attract ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Commissioner The facts in Tschetschot were quite simple, and there was not any dispute regarding them. It is nevertheless helpful to single out the facts that are more relevant to the issue on hand, which would help in following the court s reasoning in reaching its holdings. Mrs. Tschetschot works as a database project manager, and was also a professional tournament poker player in 2000. She then claimed a net loss from her tournament poker activity as business losses on her Schedule C. The commissioner determined that this deduction related to the tournament poker should be subject to the limitation provided in Code §165(d) as an itemized deduction, to the extent of the Mrs. Tschetschot s winnings. Based on that, the commissioner assessed a deficiency of income tax as well as an accuracy related penalty under Code §6662(a). The tax court ruled in favor of the commissioner, rejecting the petitioner s argument that tournament poker, unlike other types of poker, is not a wagering activity. The court reached its decision by first defining the term wagering using the term s plain, obvious, and rational meaning. Therefore, the court adopted the dictionary meaning of to wager, which is defined as to bet or the act of betting. Based on this, the court concluded that while there are differences between tournament poker and other types of poker, none rise to the level of meaningful, substantive differences that would warrant different tax treatment under the ... • 6. Napoleon Bonaparte Comparison Napoleon Bonaparte and Robert Mugabe were both dictators that maintained an iron fist rule on their respective countries, France and Zimbabwe. In times of oppression and hardship seemingly strong leaders take up the mantle of becoming what seems like a revolutionary hero. In the case of Napoleon this meant ousting the dysfunctional rule of the Directory in revolutionary France. His campaign for power followed a rule of a tyrannical madman by the name of Robespierre, who ushered an age of absolute peril and most heinous of atrocities, murder. Countless of heads poured down the French streets during the Age of Terror. Although the Directory followed Robespierre s rule, there was little they did to help France recuperate. Needless to say France was in absolute chaos. But a savior by the name of Napoleon stood up to rescue the French people in their time of most need bringing lasting justice in the form of the Napoleonic code, religious freedom, and education reforms that still lasts into present time. Similarly, Mugabe was once celebrated as a revolutionary war hero in a perceived era of oppression by the British. Together Mugabe and the ZANU PF(Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front) emancipated the people of Zimbabwe of their colonial chains of oppression in 1980. However, unlike Napoleon Mugabe brought economic ruin, genocide, and racial injustice to Zimbabwe. It is a certified organic farm that prides itself on not using extensive herbicide and pesticide use[d] by intensive conventional agriculture (Andreatta 2000 p.40). Paul s farm grows and sells organic produce such as cucumbers, strawberries, okra, kale, and tomatoes. He sells grass fed lamb from the sheep has raises on his farm and he also has chickens. To complete my hours, I went on two trips to the farm. Our first task was to pick okra and I instantly realized why farmers are known to have tough hands. As a half hour into picking okra I had two large blisters on both my thumbs. After picking the okra we weeded the tomato garden. This is where I began to understand just how hard farming is, since weeding in the hot Texas is tiring. Once we were done weeding, Paul served us lunch of a fruit smoothie and kale salad. Once we got our lunch we all sat on his porch and discussed how Paul started farming and his views on industrialized food. Paul began farming because of his ex wife, which I think made him regret farming as he talked about if he knew how hard farming was he would not have started his own farm business. However, he did have a passion for growing organic food as he believed the reason we are getting cancer is because of all the chemical in our food. After lunch was done he took us to see sheep and I was amazed at how many of them there were. We learned ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Differences Between An Imperative Programming Language And... Describe the differences between an imperative programming language and a non imperative programming language. Imperative languages are based on the sequential execution of instructions that direct the computer system what steps to take in order to come up with a solution to a problem. This is achieved by the programmer setting states, such as assigning data to memory, altering states, and controlling the sequence of instructions (University of the People, n.d.). In order to achieve this, the programmer must have a complete plan of the process the computer will use achieve a solution. Issues that can arise with imperative languages are side effects caused by the status of states being altered in some unintentional fashion because the computer is executing the instructions, as outlined, by the programmer. In non imperative languages, the necessity of controlling the sequence of execution is less important. Attention in the language is instead focused on what data is needed, what the problem is, and what result output you are looking for. The programmer needs to be able to define the problem and result for which they are seeking a solution, but the computer decides, based on built in functions of the language, how to return the solution to the problem. As no states are altered as part of non imperative languages programs, there are no issues with side effects (University of the People, n.d.). Discuss an example of where you would use an imperative language and a situation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1st in 1863 announcing that all people held as slaves shall be free. Lincoln hoped to inspire all blacks and slaves in the Confederacy even though the proclamation was limited in many ways. It applied only to states that had seceded from the Union, leaving slavery untouched in the loyal border states. While the freedom was promised depended upon the Union military victory. The Emancipation Proclamation did not end slavery in the nation but shaped the reasoning for war. Approximately 200,000 black soldiers and sailors had fought for freedom and the Union. This confirmed the battle a war for freedom. For all that the Emancipation Proclamation did for freedom, it is now taken place among the great documents of human freedom. • 11. Gel Filtration Lab Report Gel Filtration and SDS PAGE of a Mixture OBJECTIVE. I This Lab Report is an analysis of the results of a two part experiment. In the first part, we used a gel filtration column to separate the components of a mixture composed of protein and non protein molecules. By doing so we hoped to obtain fractions that contained single components of the mixture, while also gaining insight into the relative molecular weight of each component compared to each other. We would then plot these fractions onto nitrocellulose paper in order to determine which fractions had protein. In the second part, we would use the fractions which we had determined had protein to conduct an SDS PAGE. By doing so we hoped to determine an estimate on the molecular weight of the proteins present in each fraction by comparing it to a tracker dye composed of a variety of molecules of differing molecular weight. METHODS. II In the gel filtration step, we began with a slurry of Bio Gel P 100 beads suspended in 20 mM phosphate buffer (Equilibration buffer) and an upright column with a stopcock. We added enough of the Bio Gel P 100 beads to the column until we reached a height of 4.7 cm, making sure not to allow the column to run dry and that the top of the beads column is flat. We then added the sample, a mixture of Blue Dextran (2 mg/ml, 2 MDa), Hemoglobin (2 mg/ml), Bovine Serum Albumin (2 mg/ml), and Yellow Food Coloring (5 μl/ml, ~500 Da) (Sheffield, 37). As it is often said, when it comes to national security, leaders sometimes make irrational decisions. Repairing mechanisms in the body then separate the cisplastin from the DNA which then causes the damage of the unhealthy cells. (Carmen Drahl 2017) this is shown in fig ... • 27. How The Blood Type Of Blood Abstract During this lab, students will learn how to perform a process as if it was a real blood test. Working with four different synthetic blood samples, they will use synthetic antisera to the A, B, and Rh antigens on red blood cells. Students are able to identify the blood type of each blood sample and how the blood type is determined. Introduction The blood is a very important fluid of our body that has many different ways that keep us healthy. It transports important nutrients and oxygen to our cells and acts in the process of removing wastes and carbon dioxide from the body.( American Society of Hematology . n.d.) Also, this specialized fluid helps in defending the body by forming blood clots as a result of a wounded blood vessel and carrying various cells that are crucial to our health. An average human body s weight is made of seven to eight percent blood.( American Society of Hematology . n.d.) The blood is made of different components that perform different actions. It is made of 55 percent plasma and 45 percent cells. ( American Society of Hematology . n.d.) The blood is liquidy due to the presence of plasma. It is composed of water, proteins, fats, and salts. The plasma is crucial in transporting the blood cells and bring waste products to be removed from the body to the kidney and liver. ( American Society of Hematology . n.d.) Determining The Unknown Concentration Of Cobalt (II) Solution The goal of the experiment was to determine the unknown concentration of the provided Cobalt (II) solution by using a spectrophotometer/colorimeter. The spectrophotometer was used on the unknown solution to find the concentration of Cobalt (II). The concepts used from Beer Lambert s Law are the absorbance and concentration of the tested solution. The equation is A=EbC. A equals absorbance, E is the constant when identifying the species measuring the wavelength, b is the thickness of the solution, and C is the concentration of the solution. E and b are both constant, which makes the concentration and the absorbance directly proportional. Results resembled the standard curve and the connection of absorbance and concentration was used to estimate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then we got then unknown Cobalt (II) solution and placed it in a cuvette to measure the light transmittance recording it to three decimal places. Next, the unknown solution of Cobalt (II) was placed in a 100 mL beaker and the DI water was placed in a smaller beaker to make transferring the solutions easier. For the process of transferring each solution smoothly, a pipette will be used to place the unknown solution and DI water into the 10 mL graduated cylinder. First, 100% of the unknown concentration should be placed in a test tube ready to be put in the spectroscopy. Then, using a clean pipette fill the graduated cylinder with 9 mL of the unknown solution and fill the rest with DI water using a different clean pipette until 10 mL is reached. The concentration solution is 90%, and 10% is the DI water which makes the new mixture. The mixture that was just made will then be poured into a test tube that is beside the 100% concentration of the unknown solution. The process will then be continued by pouring 8 mL unknown solution and 2 mL of DI water into the 10 mL graduated cylinder to get 80% concentration solution; which is poured in the test tube that will be placed by the 90% concentration test tube. Again, 7 mL of the unknown solution will be placed in the graduated cylinder along with 3 mL of DI water, which makes 70% concentration solution and 30% DI water. The solution will then be poured into a test tube and placed by the 80% concentration. Then, 6 mL of Cobalt (II) unknown solution was placed with a pipette into the 10 mL graduated cylinder with 4 mL of DI water. The focus of this essay is to look at the Criterion Referenced Tests (CRT) and the Norm Referenced Tests (NRT) usage to see why the Criterion Referenced Tests should be used rather than the Norm Referenced Tests. The learning standards and the curriculum will be discussed to help determine why the CRT should be used rather than the NRT. Also, we will take a look at the principal use of how the two methods differ by one using survey testing and the other mastery testing. I will give my informed opinion throughout the essay. The Criterion Referenced Tests measure the performance against a fix set of predetermined learning standards. This means that there will be written descriptions of what students are expected to know and are able to do in each learning outcome unit stage in the course. This method of assessment is done to evaluate what skills the student has learned. The learning standards will measure how well a student has mastered the specific skill described in the national learning standards (Waugh Gronlund, 2013). • 39. Symbolism In John Steinbeck s The Chrysanthemums John Steinbeck s The Chrysanthemums is a great short story filled with symbols. Symbolism is the art or practice of using symbols especially by investing things with a symbolic meaning or by expressing the invisible or intangible by means of visible or sensuous representations: such as an artistic imitation or invention that is a method of revealing or suggesting immaterial, ideal, or otherwise intangible truth or states (Symbolism, n.d.). Steinbeck used symbolism throughout this work to create emotions and meanings. The Chrysanthemums takes place in Salina s Valley during the winter month of December 1938. This story is focused on the relationship between Elisa Allen and her husband, Henry Allen. As the story opens, Elisa is on her husband s ranch pridefully cutting down chrysanthemums in the garden. Her husband comes to praise her on how well she works with the flowers as she congratulates him on selling thirty head of three year old steers (pg. 359). Henry then asks her to head into town for dinner and a movie, which Elisa agrees. They seem to be a couple made well for each other by the positive conversation they briefly had.
