How Do Chick Breathes In Its Shell
I Am conducting this experiment to understand how a chick breathes in its shell. The problem That is
are trying to be solved is if the pores of the chicken egg shell allow water to enter by soaking raw eggs
in dye. The hypothesis is that the will change to the color of what every dye it is placed in.
I know that every animal requires oxygen to live. also that Birds and reptiles have hard shells. The
science that goes into my project is figuring out how chicks get air in their shell. The Scientific
principles/concepts that make the experiment work are soaking the egg in food coloring, detergent and
watering it s will show the experiment conducti if or if not the chick can breathe inside its shell. The
major terms that will appear throughout the paper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The of the inside of the shell had become mostly blue , showing where the most pores on a average
shell are. There was mostly blue on the bottom of the inside of the shell than the top, the bottom is
where the air sack and where the head of the chick would be. Also another result of the experiment
was the coloring entered through the shell with the help of just the dish detergent, I tried it without
dish detergent and it only colored the outside shell. The result of my experiment matched my
hypothesis. The only thing that would ve changed my results from not matching my hypothesis is if
the procedure said not to use dish detergent. The on variables that changed was the color of the outside
shell and albumin changed to blue. To to make the experiment better. They could see what happens
when you boil the egg without the dish detergent, but with just water and soap, and see if the same
result will occur. The hypothesis seems like the only logical way a chick can breath in a shell. The
hypothesis chosen was correct because when the shell was forced off inside the egg was

When looking at the interface of the Mac OS X Operating System and the Microsoft Windows XP
operating system many similarities can be seen. The most obvious is the use of blue in the interface. In
the core of the systems they both have a micro kernel which addresses thread management, space
management and other communications at the system level and is more resistant to attacks from a
virus.
Mac OS X is a powerful development platform; it supports multiple development technologies like
UNIX, Java, Cocoa and Carbon. It also is host to many open source, web, scripting, database and

Windows XP is a modular system that contains two main layers, a user mode and a kernel mode. The
user mode refers to the mode in which the user programs are run such as Adobe Photoshop and
Internet Explorer. These programs are limited in terms of what system resources they have access to.
The user mode is made up of subsystems capable of passing I/O requests to the appropriate kernel
mode drivers by using the I/O manager. Two subsystems make up the user mode layer, the
environment subsystem and the integral subsystem. The Environment subsystem is designed to run
applications written for many different types of operating systems. Unfortunately these applications
run at a lower priority than kernel mode processes. The Environment subsystem has three main
environment sub systems called Win32 sub system, OS/2 Subsystem, POSIX sub system. The Win32
subsystem runs 32 bit windows applications and also supports virtual DOS machines. This allows
backward compatibility with MS DOS and Windows 3.x applications to run in Windows XP. The
OS/2 subsystem support 16bit character based OS/2 applications and emulates OS/2 1.3 and 1.x
however it will not emulate OS/2 2.x or later applications. The POSIX subsystem supports
applications that are only written to either the POSIX 1 standard or the related ISO/IEC standards. The
integral subsystem looks for operating system specific functions in the environment subsystem. It is

Market
We can see examples of Tesco s opportunistic market entry whereby it fruitfully analyses and executes
market opportunity as in the case of its Central Europe and Asian expansion. In central Europe and
east Asia there was rapid liberalization of previous restrictions on retail and in east Asia Tesco sought
opportunity in buying up cash strapped retailers which were the casualties of the Asian economic
crisis of 1997/98.
In 10 years Tesco opened 1047 stores in South Korea accounting for 33% of the global operating
space (2. Lowe and Wrigley 2010)
The U.S market entry however, although researched heavily, execution seems to be at odds with the
strategic vision, giving rise to investor unrest and potentially 1 billion in investment loses with market
exit a distinct possibility in 2013.
Cost
The cost driver is also one of Yips (1992) key categories of consideration of international expansion. A
cash rich Tesco capitalized on cash strapped retailers in Asia acquiring major stakes in lotus in
Thailand and Homeplus in South Korea. Initially Tesco s share of partnerships was 73% in Thailand
and 81% in South Korea. Subsequent cash injections reduced CPs group share to zero and Samsung s
share from 11% to 1% while Tesco retained the Samsung name affording Tesco knowledge of local
business and regulatory conditions.
The cost implication of the U.S expansion came with a hefty price tag. A 1.2 billion 5 yr. investment

My Antonia Struggles
My Ántonia is a novel that captures the struggles of early European immigrants and settlers. Willa
Cather in the story My Ántonia gave an enormous amount of information about the Nebraska prairies
and the expansion of the United States. Ántonia faces several struggles as a young child, including
poverty, harsh living conditions, language issues, and the death of her father. Jim Burden the narrator,
told stories about his childhood with Antonia, the people he met along the way, and the struggles and
hardships they faced during these times. While immigration to America opens many doors for
immigrants, the path is equally fraught with obstacles. Ántonia must face many adversities after her

Megalodon Research Paper
Does he still roam the seas? Does he eat the dolphins, whales...anything? Megalodon,(Big Tooth).
That is his name. He has been around for 2.2 million years and has been around since the Cenozoic
Era or WAS? People think that Megalodon is extinct, not real, a myth, but with all the evidence the
researchers need, I think we have our answer. There are so many things about Megalodon that people
don t know about but there are some things that people do know about like how long is Megalodon?
Looking at his name, you can tell he is...well...MEGA. He is about 62 Ft long. WOW but if he s big,
his teeth have to be big, right? His teeth are 7 inches long. This shark doesn t eat fish or small things.
He eats Blue Whale, Dolphins and pretty much whatever ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You may think unorthodoxly but that s why I m here, to prove you wrong. Just think. People have seen
their friends or family get eaten by this beast and pictures may be fake but in 1942, do you think they
were able to do that? I don t think so. A half eaten whale showing up on a beach with a bunch of teeth
marks too big to belong to another shark. And what other shark do you know that could do that? More
and More evidence can show you that this still lives. You want more? Oh, you got it! Well, BTW he
did live on this earth. So, more of this truth to Megalodon. Now you re probably thinking, All this
stuff is fake let s see how many people believe in him? Let s see...mmm...70% of people believe he is
still alive. Even SeaWorld has a replica of his mouth. More?! I have given you sufficient amount but I
can give you more. This isn t really evidence but just think. Do you think people don t WANT to
believe in him? See, maybe people don t believe in him because they don t want to know that a 62 Ft
long shark lives in the sea where they possibly go surfing. Anyway, let s get to the FACTUAL stuff.
How about people in Puerto Rico, Cuba, Jamaica, Canary Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Japan,
Malta, The Grenadines and India? They dug up or excavated CONTEMPORARY Megalodon teeth.
Also old ones but we already know he was already alive. I will give you one more example of how
this shark lives here. Check this out: Watch the background and you ll see a huge shark pass by but it
takes a while to pass...(video on youtube:Megalodon Shark caught on Camera 62 Feet long shocking)

ICT In English Language Teaching
Once there was famine for information but today s generation is drowned in the deluge of information.
The ICT (Information and Communication Technology) has been used in all fields of life, including
education. In Indian education, the computer technology has become so significant that the
government has incorporated the ICT in the curriculum. The use of the ICT in English Language
Teaching has of late started to stress the potential and significant progress in language learning. It has
become one of the major issues in the world of education and has been in use from preschool to the
tertiary level which could facilitate students and teachers during the process of teaching and learning.
The ICT has been gaining vitality as it is an enabling tool for educational revival as well. As indicated
above, the importance of the ICT as a teaching aid, especially in imparting the nuances of teaching
and learning English is being dealt with in detail in this paper.

Is Dance A Sport Essay
Is dance a sport? Many people right now are thinking How is the harlem shake or the cupid shuffle a
sport? , but that is not what we are talking about, we are talking about dance sports and teams. But
Sport is in the name DANCESPORT is what some are saying now, but many still don t accept this
kind of dance as a sport yet. There are two sides to this argument, those who are for dance as a sport
are usually those who are in a dance sport or are educated in the subject. While those who are against
it as a sport tend to not be part of a dance sport or just don t know what they are truly talking about. So
why don t we delve into this argument. Let s start with the definition of a sport. Oxford defines a sport

How Did Morgan Spurlock Change Over Time
Morgan Spurlock had changed a great deal over 30 days of eating only fast food. For 30 days, he had
to eat three McDonald s meals per day and had to supersize his meal when offered. Obviously, he
could only eat what Mcdo offered on the menu. His health of course deteriorated, but his morale also
took a blow.
First, Spurlock gained weight. In total, after a month of fast food he had gained 11,1 kg. His body
mass had increased by 13 percent and his body fat by 7 percent. In terms of BMI (body mass index),
which is defined as the individual s body mass divided by the square of their height, he went from
23,8 to 26,94. On the BMI scale, he went from normal to overweight.
Next, concerning his health, the results were frightening. Even the doctors

Said, however, the academic Western conscience was granted a novel opportunity to gain insight into
the area of postcolonial phenomenon and theory, and thus, intimate details regarding the other. 30 As a
result, I find that the motivations of othering are certainly not of a purely logical nature, but rather

Dorothy Johnson s Theory Of The Behavioral System Model
The behavioral system model is a model developed by Dorothy Johnson. This theory was influenced
by Florence Nightingale s book titled notes on nursing and was developed using work of behavioral
scientists in many disciplines such as psychology, sociology, and ethnology. This theory explains that
nurse s specific contribution to patient welfare is to foster an efficient and effective behavioral
functioning in the person, before, during, and after an illness.
The theory sees a person as a system in which its parts interrelate with each other to form a whole to
perform its functions. These interrelated and interdependent parts are called subsystem which is
analyzed and described in term of structural and functional requirement. There are seven subsystems
attachment, attachment affiliation, aggressive protective, dependency, ingestive, eliminative, and
sexual with each of them interrelated with the others and its environment for three functional
requirements protection, nurturance, and stimulation. The four structural elements of the subsystem
include the following: drive (the ultimate cause of behavior), set (a tendency or predisposition to act in
a certain way), choice (behavior to use in a certain situation) and action (behavior of an individual).
These requirements must be met through a person s efforts or with the outside assistance of the nurse
to maintain the integrity of the behavioral system.
Also, the model made some assumptions for a better understanding of the

How Osmosis Affects A Potato
Aim: To See How Osmosis Affects A Potato

In this case, the tiny holes in the membrane of the potatoes will allow the water molecules to pass
through in and out of the solution and the potato, depending on the concentration gradient of the two
substances. So in this case, when the water concentration is lower, the water will go inside the potato,
and the potato will gain mass. If there is very little different in the two water concentrations, there
shouldn t be such a big change in mass.
Also if there is a higher concentration of water in the potato, then the water will go out of the potato
and into the liquid solution, as osmosis is the movement of water molecules from a region of high
concentration to a region of low concentration, through a partially permeable membrane.
Preliminary Plan
1. Two test tubes and put them in a test tube rack
2. Fill both test tubes with the same amount of water about 1/3 of the way full.
3. In one of the test tubes add sugar and mix it in with the water
4. Label this test tube sugar
5. Using a borer get two pieces of potato and cut the ends off.
6. Make sure that they are both the same size and weigh them
7. With a stop clock time 5 minutes for both of the potatoes bits when they have been dropped in the
water so they both have the same amount of time.
8. After they have been in for 5minutes take them out with a pair of tweezers and get rid of any excess

Different Opinions And Ideas About The Theories Of...
In this class, we have discussed many different opinions and ideas about the theories of personalities.
Of these, I have chosen to incorporate ideas from myself, McAdams, Freud, Jung, Adler, and Horney.
I believe that there are seven personality types and each is displayed as a personification in a character
from the Peanuts cartoons and comics. The personalities are Neuroticism, Openness to Experience and
Imagination, Psychoticism, Passive Aggressive Dependency, Histrionicism, Introversion, and
Extraversion. These personality types make up the world, and I believe that any single person can
actually have several different personalities. It can be noted that three of the Big Five by McAdams
are included in my breakdown of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Horney came up with a list of ten needs that Neurotic people have. These needs include The Neurotic
need for affection and approval which Charlie Brown clearly shows in his worry about how others
view him (Hall, Lindzey, Campbell, 1998) ; The Neurotic ambition for personal achievement which is
displayed in his over analysis of everything to try and always improve himself for personal
achievement(Hall, Lindzey, Campbell, 1998) ; And The Neurotic need for perfection and
unassailability which is again shown in his worry over his inadequacies (Hall, Lindzey, Campbell,
1998) . These negative feelings and thoughts toward everyday life lead me to believe that Charlie
Brown is a near perfect personification of neuroticism.
Openness to Experience and Imagination In the Peanuts comic, Linus is known as Charlie Brown s
best friend and he carries around a blanket most of the time. This security blanket helps Linus be open
to experiences and imagination. McAdams describes openness to experience as a cluster of
characteristics having to do with how reflective, imaginative, artistic, and refined a person is
(McAdams, 2009). Linus is one of the most thoughtful, intelligent and inviting of the characters in
Peanuts. He listens to others while thoughtfully thinking about what is said, and he keeps his mind
wide open to the possibility that he will see things that others may not. For example, Linus is the only

Making Causal Inferences In Psychology
Although many people believe that the only way to confidently make causal inferences in the
psychology world is through true experiments, I believe that observational and other quasi
experiments can be just as effective for making cause and effect conclusions. One of the cardinal rules
in psychology, of course, is that correlation does not equal causation. While this is true, I strongly
believe that when certain conditions are met, we can infer causation even with nonexperimental data. I
have learned about many of these conditions in my Advanced Research Methods textbook and
completely agree with the author s opinion on this topic. Basically, causality has a probabilistic
meaning rather than a deterministic one. When making causality ... Show more content on

With this type of perspective, I believe it is fair to make conclusions about personality as a cause of
behavior (despite the fact that we cannot manipulate a person s stable dispositions) so long as the
model investigating how a trait causes an outcome is well designed, replicated, and combined with
other kinds of evidence (pg 10).
One study that might be fair to draw causal inferences from analyzed the relationship between
explanatory style and academic achievement (pg 287). In this study, researchers found that first year
college students with optimistic explanatory styles obtained a higher GPA than students with
pessimistic explanatory styles (presumably because of greater motivation and perseverance in the face
of adversity) even after controlling for intellectual ability (with SAT scores). What makes me lean
toward a more cause effect rather than a correlational explanation is:
1.) This research is not saying that an optimistic explanatory style necessarily causes students to earn
higher GPAs, but that optimists, because of their tendency to show greater motivation and persistence
(despite times of hardship), develop strategies that are related to higher achievement. Having an
optimistic

Comparing Serial Garden And The Third Wish
The Serial Garden and The Third Wish by Joan Aiken both meet our expectations of a fairy tale and
breaks them in order to teach a lesson. In both fairy tales the author surprises you with new changes
that may happen in life. Also in both fairy tales the author wants you to think that these things could
actually happen to you but without the magic, they would never happen. The author builds up your
expectations to think that it s going to end all happy but actually it s not going to be happy. You might

The Serial Garden by Joan Aiken shatters our expectations of a fairy tale, but also meets some of

Which all in all provides a better atmosphere of customer service towards consumers. This convinces
consumers to prefer to shop at Costco, knowing that they will come out satisfied at the end of the day.
(USA TODAY) Another key difference between Wal Mart and Costco is the fact that Costco requires
memberships from consumers. A contract which consumers pay in order to purchase any product at
Costco. Membership prices range from $55 110 annually which in return for the discount prices is
well worth. Costco memberships also provide reward programs for the more premium package such as
3% cash back for gasoline purchases. (ann arbor) This provides an incentive for consumers to do their
bulk spending ,like groceries, at Costco; knowing that a small fraction will be returned in the short run
which eventually adds up in the long run. This not only applies for those who plan on doing their
groceries but also for heavy purchases; TVs, Mattresses, Computers..etc. However this does not
appeal the consumers who wish to buy small quantity of units like picking up a gallon of milk. To pay
$55 110 a year for a gallon of milk doesn t make sense, especially since Costco only sells packages of

Earth Bound Telescopes
Clearly the better and stronger our telescopes and other methods used to evaluate the sky will result in
further discoveries. Not only do we have Earth bound telescopes; we have telescopes in the sky that
can get even closer to other matter whether that be planets, stars, comets, asteroids, etc. The textbook
also notes radial velocity and how the gravitational pull of a planet results in the star wobbling. If the
wobble happens to occur along our line of sight to the star, then we see small fluctuations in the star s
radial velocity, which can be measured using the Doppler effect (Chaisson McMillan, 2014, p 371)
allowing us to estimate the mass of the planet (Chaisson McMillan, 2014, p 371). I found this website:
http://www.planetary.org/explore/space topics/exoplanets/how to search for exoplanets.html that gives
three ways. They are noted as radial velocity (already stated); transit photometry (having to do with
the brightness or lack thereof of a star when another planet passes between it and the Earth (How to
Search for Exoplanets)), and Microlensing (stated as the only real method that is capable of
discovering other planets at huge distances from Earth (How to Search for Exoplanets)). It further
notes that while radial velocity can identify them within 100 light years, transit photometry can
identify them more than 100 light years (100 s in fact), and transit photometry can find those that are
thousands of light years away. I need to understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cheer Worlds Research Paper
Cheer Worlds is the biggest competition for many cheerleaders around the world. Teams from
everywhere come to compete. There are no pompoms in sight these cheerleaders come with high
flying stunts, and insane tumbling skills. At any moment anything could go wrong. Forty countries
around the world qualify to teams at their premier national championship to compete at worlds. The
first Worlds was held in 2004. That year a level 5 team called Cheer Athletics took home a win. Now
there are different levels depending on your skills so there are many winners from different levels.
Cheer Worlds is held in Orlando, Florida. The reason for cheer worlds being so important is it gives a
chance for the cheerleaders around the world to have their very own Olympics. It can launch a good
future from some girls or boys. Girls and boys both risk their bodies to do something they love. Cheer
worlds has changed many places and teams around them to put hard work and shape up to amazing
teams. I forgot to mention this is all held on live television. Could you only imagine how crazy and
scary that is. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sometimes at comp you will see the same team, but different levels. This is just like when you see the
same dance team, but different girls or boys. I personally like the fact cheerleaders have something of
their own. They can show off without having other sports there interfering with the whole meaning of
worlds, and it also allows the girls to travel around the world. If worlds had not been made amazing
teams everywhere would not be know and cheer leading would have fell off. Many young boys and
girls look up to these cheerleaders so they have to bring it or they will let millions

Analysis Of The Book Little Red Cap By Angela Carter
Fairytales subvert, challenge or reaffirm archetypal values through didactic lenses. The presence of
universal themes allows for an examination of contextual shifts and by being malleable in nature, can
be made relevant to different audiences. The Brothers Grimm s Little Red Cap , Angela Carter s The
Company of Wolves and Tommy Wirkola s film, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters all promote their
hegemonic ideologies and as cultural artefacts extrapolate the contextual values of their time period.
Carl Jung s theory of the Collective Unconscious ensures that each of these fairytale adaptations can
retain their archetypal value and thus remain significant and relevant in contemporary circumstances.
The Brother Grimm s 19th Century Fairytale, Little Red Cap reflects the hegemonies of its context
through its cautionary justification. Grimm s work reflected the importance of German national
cohesion under French occupation and the view towards foreigners as destructive usurpers. Little Red
Cap was adapted for instructional purposes, specifically aimed at a children s audience. Initially in the
tale, the subversion of Perrault s depiction of the girl is evident exemplifying her as a sweet little girl
and the hyperbolic everybody loved her instantly on first sight demonstrates the engrained virtue of
her youth. The instruction for Little Red Cap to not stray from the path foreshadows the inherent
danger associated with a misguided venture. The symbolism of

The National Rifle Association ( Nra )
Of the many interest groups that have a viable, unwavering presence in both the campaign and
election process and in the hands of its taxpaying voters is the National Rifle Association (NRA). The
nonprofit organization has a staunch and straightforward message: to advocate and protect the second
amendment. As of late, the NRA has received criticism by some candidate who is running for
presidency, and even the President himself, but this has not changed the purpose or image of the
organization through the eyes of the American people. Other candidates can see this, and they are in
full fledge of their support for the NRA, which is not only cohesive but reciprocal, and has been one
of the standing points for these candidates. Because of this, Fortune magazine has recognized NRA as
the most powerful lobbying force in the United States. The National Rifle Association is an effective
interest group because of its strong advocacy for gun rights, its strong support from taxpayers and
politicians, and its notable presence in policy making and legislation. The NRA is a powerful
organization that has a long, illustrious history of advocating gun rights and the second amendment.
The nonprofit organization was founded in November of 1871 by William Conant Church and George
Wood Wingate, and has educated and informed its members on gun related legislation and policy since
the mid 1930s after the first federal gun control law was passed. By the mid 1970s, however, the NRA

Summary Of Django Unchained
An auteur is a director that influences their films so that they can be considered as an author. Quentin
Tarantino is considered an author through his unique directorial film style, examples of Tarantino s
directorial film style are; his use of camera work especially with extreme close ups, bloody violence,
and long drawn out scenes. We have studied Quentin Tarantino s 2012 film Django Unchained, as well
as Tarantino s first box office movie Reservoir Dogs to analyse.
Quentin Tarantino uses camera work in both Django Unchained and Reservoir Dogs to display
character emotion. From what I had analysed I noticed that Tarantino s use of close up and mid shots
help the audience to examine the character s facial expression, from when Calvin Candie is showing
them the skull of an African, you can really see the pity in Dr. King Schultz s eyes and the anger in
Django s face, from Reservoir Dogs cafe scene, you can see each individual character s facial
expression, representing their personalities.
A scene in Django Unchained , that Tarantino applies great camera work is during the skull
examination scene , the scene featured Dr. King Schultz, Django, Calvin Candie, Stephen, and
Broomhilda. The scene opens up with a mid shot on Calvin Candie presenting to them an African
skull, the camera then shifts back and forth to Dr. King Schultz and Django. The camera provides us
with close up shots of both Dr. King Schultz and Django, presenting to us their emotions. Through the

Film Analysis Of The Film The Scarlett Letter
The Scarlett Letter 1995 Film Analysis
The Scarlett Letter, is about a young mistress named Hester Prynne. In 1666, after moving to the
Massachusetts Bay Colony from England to await her husbands arrival, Hester beings to fall in love
with the town s pastor, Arthur Dimmesdale. Roger Prynne, Hester s husband, and all other passengers
of an English ship are presumed dead in the aftermath of an attack. After she and Arthur consummate
their love, Hester finds herself pregnant. Hester soon becomes the subject of idle gossip among the
colonists after she shares her radical thoughts and views on the Bible and the Puritan way of life. Two
of the other mistresses in the colony also witnessed Hester become ill on two separate occasions
during the morning hours, so she is called to appear before the Elders of the colony to be accused of
Heresy, Fornication, and Adultery. Hester is then arrested and imprisoned for her indiscretion. On the
day of giving birth to her bastard child, Pearl, Hester is humiliated in front of the entire town and
made to wear a red A for adulterer on her chest and to also followed around by a drummer boy that
bangs his drum wherever she goes in public. Roger Prynne resurfaces and was never actually killed by
the Indians, but was captured and held prisoner. After learning about the scandal of his wife, Roger
joins the colony under an alias, Dr. Roger Chillingworth . Roger eventually scalps and kills a male
colonist that he thought was Arthur, and blames the murder on the Algonquian Indians, which prompts
the declaration of war on the Indians by the colonists. Roger commits suicide for his wrong doings,
Hester and Arthur abandon the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and the scarlet letter to set out for Carolina
to start a new life. I do believe that The Scarlett Letter is historically accurate. I think the writers and
directors accurately communicated the sense of historic time and place, it really felt like I left the 21st
century and stepped back in time. There are several pieces of evidence within the film that are
historically accurate. In one of the first scenes of the film, the narrator describes Hester Prynne as she
comes from England to the New World, My name is Pearl. This is the story

The ACLU has also influenced Congress to limit the sharing of information obtained through wire

Essay about Johann Sebastian Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach was born on March 21st 1685. He is the son of Johann Ambrosius. For many
years, members of the Bach family had held positions such as organists, town instrumentalists, or
Cantors.
When Bach was eight years old he went to the old Latin Grammar School. He was taught reading and
writing, Latin grammar, and a great deal of scripture, both in Latin and German. The boys in the
school formed the choir of the St. Georgenkirche. This also gave Bach an opportunity to sing in the
regular services, as well as in the nearby villages. He has an uncommonly fine treble voice.
During this period Bach attended the Gymnasium of Ohrdruf, which had become one of the most

By now Bach had high ideals for the church music of Germany. He began organizing the rather poor
facilities of Muhlhausen; he started by making a large collection of the best German music available,
including some of his own. The first result of these efforts was his cantata Gott ist mein Konig . This,
incidentally, was the only one of Bach s cantatas to be published during his lifetime. This success gave
Bach the hope to put in a long and detailed report, proposing a complete renovation and improvement
of the organ. The council agreed to carry the proposals out, and Bach was given the job as supervising
the work, for not only now was he a brilliant player, but he became an expert on constructing organs.
The court orchestra consisted of twenty two players. Bach s function was mainly a violinist, however
he also played harpsichord. Bach, on occasion, wrote some of the music that was played. During this
period he wrote strictly for the organ, and he was rapidly becoming known throughout the country. As
time went on, people were coming to see him far and wide.
During the later years of his life Bach gradually withdrew inwards, producing some of the most
profound statements of the baroque musical form. Bach s creative energy was conserved for the
highest flights of musical expression: the Mass in b

How To Understand Gymnastics

Everybody knows that feeling when you finally accomplish something that you have been working on
for a long time. This is a major part of Gymnastics. The sport is all about working up towards your
goal. It s all about practicing until you feel confident or when you finally reach where you wanted to
be. You have to just get over the fact that yes, you may fall or not get it on the first try but if you never
try it will go nowhere. Also if you do get a skill you have to keep practicing or you will get out of
practice and loose the feeling and sensation of that trick. So I guess that practice makes perfect applies
perfectly to this situation and it can tell you a lot.

Overview of Three Interpretations of Samuel Beckett s...
Samuel Beckett wrote Waiting for Godot between October 1948 and January 1949. Since its premiere
in January of 1953, it has befuddled and confounded critics and audiences alike. Some find it to be a
meandering piece of drivel; others believe it to be genius. Much of the strain between the two sides
stems from one simple question. What does this play mean? Even within camps where Waiting for
Godot is heralded, the lack of clarity and consensus brings about a tension and discussion that has
lasted over sixty years. I will look at what I have determined to be the three most predominant
interpretations of the play, including anti Christianity, existentialism, and nihilism. By also examining

Furthermore, Basaninyenzi writes a fairly common claim. He says, Godot, as many critics maintain, is
a diminutive of God. He is a supremely powerful being, for it is he who holds in his hand the future of
mankind Vladmir and Estragon (Basaninyenzi 70). Godot is an entity who is ever present, but is never
explicitly there and yet controls the entire movement or lack thereof in the show stands directly
parallel to God as a spiritual entity. Basaninyenzi believes that based on these two similarities that
Waiting for Godot is an inherently anti Christian text.

While most Cambodian Americans are loyal to their own family units it is not uncommon for them to
be hesitant about close interaction with strangers even other Cambodians. The hesitation that some
Cambodian Americans face when meeting with strangers is due to the fact that the Cambodian culture
is one of high power distance. Hierarchy is determined usually by age or economic status. Social
hierarchy of age is evident in the greetings. Depending on who you are greeting determines the type of
greeting. If one were to greet someone who is Cambodian, they should do the formal put hands
together and bow. At chest level to someone who is of the same age or status, at mouth level to a
superior such as a boss and at nose level to someone who is an elder, such as a grandparent. (Vorani) If
greeting someone who isn t Cambodian, we just normally do the American hi while waving. It just
really depends. For the Cambodian culture, we have to make sure we greet using again the hands
together while bowing especially to those who are older than your parents. You also have to say a

Persuasive Essay About Suicide
I m planning on killing myself tonight. I have the rope and the gun, just in case it doesn t work. I m
wearing my Blink 182 t shirt. The thing is that I don t really want to go through with it, but I m also
really tired.
The next day
Well, I failed at suicide. That a crazy thing is when people say oh she failed at suicide like it
something you are graded on. A+ for not getting blood on the carpet or B still need improvement with
the knife next time go a little deeper. but I guess it makes it a little easier to talk about but maybe if
people talked about the thing that was scary the world might be a little better but until then.
The psych ward has will be my home. Let me tell you if you don t have depression and want to kill
yourself before you get here, you will eventually. This place doesn t fix depression it makes is worse.
The white walls and thought that this is the place where people like me have been. Some have gotten

She is doing something my body hasn t done in months. I m thinking back to my life. On how I got to
this place on my first time I drank alcohol the first time I did drugs to escape. When did my life

Grassroots Civil Rights Movement Research Paper
Throughout the history of America, African Americans have been targeted by white society and the
federal government refused to protect their given rights. The grass root civil rights movement included
sit in movements, freedom rides using nonviolent direct action. The main goal of the grassroots civil
rights movement was to obtain the attention of the federal government on the issue of African
American inequality. The grassroots civil rights movement was supported by several different civil
rights supporters including the SNLC, CORE, and the NAACP. Through freedom rides, sit in
movements, and nonviolent direct action the Federal government eventually was forced to confront
the issue of race inequality and protect the rights of African Americans. ... Show more content on

The first freedom ride began on May 1, 1961, after 4 college students walked into an all white diner
and were denied service based on their race. After the sit in occurred in Greensboro a group of
fourteen students joined together and got on a bus that left from Washington D.C. Their main goal was
to integrate diners and facilities at bus stops along their routes. As soon as they commenced their trip
on the road angry white protesters began to harass and assault black freedom riders. Soon after their
freedom ride gained national attention and many more freedom rides from other black citizens began.
In September of 1961 segregation was prohibited in train and bus stop facilities under the Interstate
Commerce Commission laws. Supported by the NAACP, CORE, and SNCC, all three of these civil
rights organizations financially supported the freedom rides. Supporting civil rights groups such as the
NAACP posted bail for black activists who were arrested during sit ins and freedom rides. The
freedom rides initiated a future with freedom and equality for African Americans. Freedom rides
eventually caught the eye of the federal government and they were forced to give African Americans
the rights that they rightfully fought for and deserved. 25 years later John Lewis, one of the original
group of 13 Freedom Riders, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 1986.

Clinician Intervention Case Study
As addressed in the previous section, assessment needs to be very individualized towards the patient
and their specific needs. Therefore, with intervention, the same process and considerations should be
maintained. If a clinician is going to individualize an assessment specifically towards a client, then in
order to work on the areas identified, the intervention plan must reflect the results of the assessment.
Every individual varies greatly, and with Noonan Syndrome, it is no different. Even though specific
characteristics are identified, each patient will present with different degrees and attributes, if they
even present with any at all. Intervention needs to be specifically designed for the individual and their
strengths and weaknesses. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The caregiver is a major component of the intervention, and that cannot be forgotten when
determining plans for intervention. The caregivers are going to be the main adults interacting with the
child and ultimately implementing the strategies to excel the development of their child. Therefore, the
SLP needs to make sure that they are addressing the concerns of the caregivers throughout the
intervention process. A clinician should view the caregivers as an important component in the
intervention process, comparable to the client. If the caregiver mentions skills that they wish their
child to improve upon, or want certain issues the child may have addressed, then the clinician needs to
make sure to target those issues and address them accordingly. Secondly, caregivers are a huge
resource that the clinician can use to enhance the productivity of the intervention. The caregiver can
provide insight into the interests of the child, how to interact with the child, or give the clinician
pointers as to what to avoid during interactions. (Ritzman,

Fortuna Primigenia Research Paper
The Temple of Fortuna Primigenia is a vast concrete sanctuary that sits within a large mountainside.
The entire structure was installed on four platforms. These platforms acted as colossal steps up the
hillside (Moffett 110). Both a set of ramps and a long, tall staircase linked each step . The temple itself
is symmetrical and has an axial plan; both right and left sides are exactly mirrored. As you walk up to
the structure, you must take in the different geometries of the sanctuary. The first shape is a large
triangle that is mildly extruded. Large staircases run up to this upward pointed extrusion. A doorway is
subtracted from the bottom center of this first structure as well as the sides. The side doorways are the
entrances to inner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This cult worshiped the god of fate (Fortuna). The uppermost part of the temple was used for worship
and cult services and rituals (Stamper 87). Below, there were many shops and outdoor areas where
people could walk around. Much human interaction could be had on the terraces. There covered walks
as well as wide open spaces where people could move around freely. These two general aspects were
very different from each other. While the tholos was a very private and secluded space; the terraces
were very much public and spacious. While the most important part of the sanctuary was perched at
the top, the less important causal area was larger and lower. Lastly while the tholos was the farthest

The problem That is are trying to be solved is if the pores of the chicken egg shell allow water to enter by soaking raw eggs in dye. The hypothesis is that the will change to the color of what every dye it is placed in. I know that every animal requires oxygen to live. also that Birds and reptiles have hard shells. The science that goes into my project is figuring out how chicks get air in their shell. The Scientific principles/concepts that make the experiment work are soaking the egg in food coloring, detergent and watering it s will show the experiment conducti if or if not the chick can breathe inside its shell. The of the inside of the shell had become mostly blue , showing where the most pores on a average shell are. There was mostly blue on the bottom of the inside of the shell than the top, the bottom is where the air sack and where the head of the chick would be. Also another result of the experiment was the coloring entered through the shell with the help of just the dish detergent, I tried it without dish detergent and it only colored the outside shell. The result of my experiment matched my hypothesis. The only thing that would ve changed my results from not matching my hypothesis is if the procedure said not to use dish detergent. The on variables that changed was the color of the outside shell and albumin changed to blue. To to make the experiment better. They could see what happens when you boil the egg without the dish detergent, but with just water and soap, and see if the same result will occur. The hypothesis seems like the only logical way a chick can breath in a shell. The hypothesis chosen was correct because when the shell was forced off inside the egg was ... The most obvious is the use of blue in the interface. In the core of the systems they both have a micro kernel which addresses thread management, space management and other communications at the system level and is more resistant to attacks from a virus. Windows XP is a modular system that contains two main layers, a user mode and a kernel mode. The user mode refers to the mode in which the user programs are run such as Adobe Photoshop and Internet Explorer. These programs are limited in terms of what system resources they have access to. The user mode is made up of subsystems capable of passing I/O requests to the appropriate kernel mode drivers by using the I/O manager. Two subsystems make up the user mode layer, the environment subsystem and the integral subsystem. The Environment subsystem is designed to run applications written for many different types of operating systems. Unfortunately these applications run at a lower priority than kernel mode processes. The Environment subsystem has three main environment sub systems called Win32 sub system, OS/2 Subsystem, POSIX sub system. The Win32 subsystem runs 32 bit windows applications and also supports virtual DOS machines. This allows backward compatibility with MS DOS and Windows 3.x applications to run in Windows XP. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Market We can see examples of Tesco s opportunistic market entry whereby it fruitfully analyses and executes market opportunity as in the case of its Central Europe and Asian expansion. In central Europe and east Asia there was rapid liberalization of previous restrictions on retail and in east Asia Tesco sought opportunity in buying up cash strapped retailers which were the casualties of the Asian economic crisis of 1997/98. In 10 years Tesco opened 1047 stores in South Korea accounting for 33% of the global operating space (2. Lowe and Wrigley 2010) The U.S market entry however, although researched heavily, execution seems to be at odds with the strategic vision, giving rise to investor unrest and potentially 1 billion in investment loses with market exit a distinct possibility in 2013. Cost The cost driver is also one of Yips (1992) key categories of consideration of international expansion. A cash rich Tesco capitalized on cash strapped retailers in Asia acquiring major stakes in lotus in Thailand and Homeplus in South Korea. Initially Tesco s share of partnerships was 73% in Thailand and 81% in South Korea. Subsequent cash injections reduced CPs group share to zero and Samsung s share from 11% to 1% while Tesco retained the Samsung name affording Tesco knowledge of local business and regulatory conditions. • 13. Dorothy Johnson s Theory Of The Behavioral System Model The behavioral system model is a model developed by Dorothy Johnson. This theory was influenced by Florence Nightingale s book titled notes on nursing and was developed using work of behavioral scientists in many disciplines such as psychology, sociology, and ethnology. This theory explains that nurse s specific contribution to patient welfare is to foster an efficient and effective behavioral functioning in the person, before, during, and after an illness. The theory sees a person as a system in which its parts interrelate with each other to form a whole to perform its functions. These interrelated and interdependent parts are called subsystem which is analyzed and described in term of structural and functional requirement. There are seven subsystems attachment, attachment affiliation, aggressive protective, dependency, ingestive, eliminative, and sexual with each of them interrelated with the others and its environment for three functional requirements protection, nurturance, and stimulation. The four structural elements of the subsystem include the following: drive (the ultimate cause of behavior), set (a tendency or predisposition to act in a certain way), choice (behavior to use in a certain situation) and action (behavior of an individual). These requirements must be met through a person s efforts or with the outside assistance of the nurse to maintain the integrity of the behavioral system. If there is very little different in the two water concentrations, there shouldn t be such a big change in mass. Of these, I have chosen to incorporate ideas from myself, McAdams, Freud, Jung, Adler, and Horney. The personalities are Neuroticism, Openness to Experience and Imagination, Psychoticism, Passive Aggressive Dependency, Histrionicism, Introversion, and Extraversion. These personality types make up the world, and I believe that any single person can actually have several different personalities. These negative feelings and thoughts toward everyday life lead me to believe that Charlie Brown is a near perfect personification of neuroticism. Openness to Experience and Imagination In the Peanuts comic, Linus is known as Charlie Brown s best friend and he carries around a blanket most of the time. This security blanket helps Linus be open to experiences and imagination. McAdams describes openness to experience as a cluster of characteristics having to do with how reflective, imaginative, artistic, and refined a person is (McAdams, 2009). Making Causal Inferences In Psychology Although many people believe that the only way to confidently make causal inferences in the psychology world is through true experiments, I believe that observational and other quasi experiments can be just as effective for making cause and effect conclusions. One of the cardinal rules in psychology, of course, is that correlation does not equal causation. While this is true, I strongly believe that when certain conditions are met, we can infer causation even with nonexperimental data. I have learned about many of these conditions in my Advanced Research Methods textbook and completely agree with the author s opinion on this topic. With this type of perspective, I believe it is fair to make conclusions about personality as a cause of behavior (despite the fact that we cannot manipulate a person s stable dispositions) so long as the model investigating how a trait causes an outcome is well designed, replicated, and combined with other kinds of evidence (pg 10). One study that might be fair to draw causal inferences from analyzed the relationship between explanatory style and academic achievement (pg 287). In this study, researchers found that first year college students with optimistic explanatory styles obtained a higher GPA than students with pessimistic explanatory styles (presumably because of greater motivation and perseverance in the face of adversity) even after controlling for intellectual ability (with SAT scores). What makes me lean toward a more cause effect rather than a correlational explanation is: 1.) This research is not saying that an optimistic explanatory style necessarily causes students to earn higher GPAs, but that optimists, because of their tendency to show greater motivation and persistence (despite times of hardship), develop strategies that are related to higher achievement. Not only do we have Earth bound telescopes; we have telescopes in the sky that can get even closer to other matter whether that be planets, stars, comets, asteroids, etc. The textbook also notes radial velocity and how the gravitational pull of a planet results in the star wobbling. If the wobble happens to occur along our line of sight to the star, then we see small fluctuations in the star s radial velocity, which can be measured using the Doppler effect (Chaisson McMillan, 2014, p 371) allowing us to estimate the mass of the planet (Chaisson McMillan, 2014, p 371). The presence of universal themes allows for an examination of contextual shifts and by being malleable in nature, can be made relevant to different audiences. The Brothers Grimm s Little Red Cap , Angela Carter s The Company of Wolves and Tommy Wirkola s film, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters all promote their hegemonic ideologies and as cultural artefacts extrapolate the contextual values of their time period. Carl Jung s theory of the Collective Unconscious ensures that each of these fairytale adaptations can retain their archetypal value and thus remain significant and relevant in contemporary circumstances. The Brother Grimm s 19th Century Fairytale, Little Red Cap reflects the hegemonies of its context through its cautionary justification. Grimm s work reflected the importance of German national cohesion under French occupation and the view towards foreigners as destructive usurpers. Little Red Cap was adapted for instructional purposes, specifically aimed at a children s audience. Initially in the tale, the subversion of Perrault s depiction of the girl is evident exemplifying her as a sweet little girl and the hyperbolic everybody loved her instantly on first sight demonstrates the engrained virtue of her youth. In 1666, after moving to the Massachusetts Bay Colony from England to await her husbands arrival, Hester beings to fall in love with the town s pastor, Arthur Dimmesdale. Roger Prynne, Hester s husband, and all other passengers of an English ship are presumed dead in the aftermath of an attack. After she and Arthur consummate their love, Hester finds herself pregnant. Hester is then arrested and imprisoned for her indiscretion. On the day of giving birth to her bastard child, Pearl, Hester is humiliated in front of the entire town and made to wear a red A for adulterer on her chest and to also followed around by a drummer boy that bangs his drum wherever she goes in public. Roger Prynne resurfaces and was never actually killed by the Indians, but was captured and held prisoner. It will help law enforcement to identify, dismantle, disrupt, and punish terrorists before they strike, (President George W. Bush at signing of Patriot Act, 2001). The terrorists of today cannot be reasoned with. We must do whatever necessary to ensure that there never will be another September 11th. • 30. Essay about Johann Sebastian Bach Johann Sebastian Bach Johann Sebastian Bach was born on March 21st 1685. He is the son of Johann Ambrosius. For many years, members of the Bach family had held positions such as organists, town instrumentalists, or Cantors. When Bach was eight years old he went to the old Latin Grammar School. He was taught reading and writing, Latin grammar, and a great deal of scripture, both in Latin and German. The boys in the school formed the choir of the St. Georgenkirche. This also gave Bach an opportunity to sing in the regular services, as well as in the nearby villages. He has an uncommonly fine treble voice. By now Bach had high ideals for the church music of Germany. He began organizing the rather poor facilities of Muhlhausen; he started by making a large collection of the best German music available, including some of his own. The first result of these efforts was his cantata Gott ist mein Konig . This, incidentally, was the only one of Bach s cantatas to be published during his lifetime. This success gave Bach the hope to put in a long and detailed report, proposing a complete renovation and improvement of the organ. The council agreed to carry the proposals out, and Bach was given the job as supervising the work, for not only now was he a brilliant player, but he became an expert on constructing organs. The court orchestra consisted of twenty two players. Bach s function was mainly a violinist, however he also played harpsichord. Bach, on occasion, wrote some of the music that was played. During this period he wrote strictly for the organ, and he was rapidly becoming known throughout the country. As time went on, people were coming to see him far and wide. During the later years of his life Bach gradually withdrew inwards, producing some of the most profound statements of the baroque musical form. Since its premiere in January of 1953, it has befuddled and confounded critics and audiences alike. Some find it to be a meandering piece of drivel; others believe it to be genius. Much of the strain between the two sides stems from one simple question. What does this play mean? Even within camps where Waiting for Godot is heralded, the lack of clarity and consensus brings about a tension and discussion that has lasted over sixty years. Godot is an entity who is ever present, but is never explicitly there and yet controls the entire movement or lack thereof in the show stands directly parallel to God as a spiritual entity.
