The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Essay
Methods One major method that will be used will be the statistics taken from the Behavioral
Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) provided by the NC department of health. Also, data
will be used for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Trust for America s Health study,
done for the year 2015. Both of these will give pertinent data on what factors may increase
obesity over the target population. While the method of this surveillance may use the BRFSS,
there can be many more other methods that can be used. In evaluating a financial project,
majority of the times the methods used during the evaluations will be quantitative, in order to
prove financial gain (Makarova Sokolva, 2014). The same quantitative method can also be used
in two different ways within this project. The first method used for quantitative reporting, would
be as the same as Makarova Sokolva mentioned, which would be using it as a financial indicator
of the overall success of the project (Makarova Sokolva, 2014). As stated earlier, obese
individuals spend about 1,429 dollars more on health care than a normal individual (Finkelstein,
Trodgdon, Cohen Dietz, 2009). If an analyst wanted to take this quantitative method, they would
use the amount of money saved per year, over the course of an individual s life, as a way to
show that the evaluation of a plan was successful. To further this, if the surveillance saw one
person stay below obese for 25 years, this would yield a total savings of around

External Threat Is Improper Training And Knowledge
External threats
1.Most external threat is improper training and knowledge. That could lead to losing customers or
even worse a lawsuit. It is impart that floor management and leads stay active on the salon floor and
interacting with employees.
2.Neglecting to keep up with new regulated laws can hurt the business and cause economic distress
in the business. This will have an adverse effect on the ability to capitalize business ventures and
generate revenue. I feel that it is up to both the management team and myself to stay on top of all
facets of the business and make sure all ts are crossed, and is are dotted!
3.High turnover rate with hair stylist and nail technician is a potential threat causing staff shortages
and over workload. In addition, company trade secrets and special projects leaked by ex employees
or sub contractors.
Three largest challenges
The three largest challenges my company faces is (1) company secrets being exposed, (2)
competitive market, and (3) boosting staff morale.
1.To enforce and to protect the business confidentiality all employees and booth renters would have
to agree to sign a unilateral non disclosure and non compete contract. Within both contracts if upon
their termination or resignation from Eke to Chic a clause restricting employees use and
dissemination of company owned confidential information. The non compete states that employee

Analysis Of Verizon Communications Inc.
The company I selected to follow this semester is Verizon Communications Inc. I learned very
informative information about how the company operates. I learned information from the
overview of their 2014 Annual Financial Report, and I gained much more respect for Verizon
Communication Inc. based on their principles and the way the company provides excellent
services to its customers. On a personal note, I have been using Verizon service for about 8
years and I must say, they offer and provide great service. History Verizon Communications, Inc.

Why Is Lewis Murdered
LEWIS S DEATH ESSAY (Due 3.28.18) Meriwether Lewis is an American explorer who is
known for his role as the leader in the Lewis and Clark expedition. He was also the governor of
the Louisiana Territory. He was also Jefferson s private secretary, these two were close friends.
Since Jefferson trusted Lewis, he let Lewis travel to D.C to deliver Jefferson s classified
information. During Lewis s travel to Washington, he visited Robert Grinder s Inn to rest,
however, while he was there he died. Lewis s death was a murder and not a suicide; Nevertheless,
a murder by conspiracy. There was a autopsy report of the investigation by the medical examiner.
Accordingly, it stated that Lewis had two gunshot wounds. One of the shots was in the back... Show

Looking back at the physical evidence there were two gunshot wounds. If you go back to the
ballistic test, the gun that was used took some parts of the structure s head. If he shot himself
with the gun that was similar to the horse pistol, that would ve been enough for him to die. It
seems unlikely for him to be able to shoot himself once with that gun, proceed to reload the gun
and shoot himself once more. He would ve been dead after one shot and would not be able to
shoot himself again with that kind of gun. The evidence from Priscilla Grinder, it was pretty off
and suspicious. Every letter was different along with the situation. Her story consistently
changed and inconsistent. Then there was Russel s letter. The letter Major Russel wrote to
Jefferson saying that Lewis was in a deranged state of mind and that he tried to commit suicide
twice, however, this handwritten analysis wasn t written by him. This was a forged document
and it showed that Jefferson was duked. It was possibly forged by Neely or Wilkinson to
incriminate Lewis s Suicide . This evidence shows that Lewis s death is a murder and not a suicide.

Religion of Islam
The first thing that one should know and clearly understand about Islam is what the word Islam
itself means. The religion of Islam is not named after a person as in the case of Christianity which
was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Gotama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, and
Marxism after Karl Marx. Nor was it named after a tribe like Judaism after the tribe of Judah and
Hinduism after the Hindus. Islamis the true religionof Allah and as such, its name represents the
central principle of Allah s Gods religion; the total submission to the will of Allah God . The
Arabic word Islam means the submission or surrender of one s will to the only true god worthy of

THE MESSAGE OF FALSE RELIGION
There are so many sects, cults, religions, philosophies, and movements in the world, all of which
claim to be the right way or the only true path to Allah. How can one determine which one is
correct or if, in fact, all are correct? The method by which the answer can be found is to clear
away the superficial differences in the teachings of the various claimants to the ultimate truth, and
identify the central object of worship to which they call, directly or indirectly. False religions all
have in common one basic concept with regards to Allah. They either claim that all men are gods
or that specific men were Allah or that nature is Allah or that Allah is a figment of man s
imagination.
Thus, it may be stated that the basic message of false religion is that Allah may be worshipped in
the form of His creation. False religion invites man to the worship of creation by calling the
creation or some aspect of it God. For example, prophet Jesus invited his followers to worship
Allah but those who claim to be his followers today call people to worship Jesus, claiming that he
was Allah!
Buddha was a reformer who introduced a number of humanistic principles to the religion of India.
He did not claim to be God nor did he suggest to his followers that he

Corporate Social Responsibility in GRI
SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING AND THE GRI Overview of CSR Corporate social responsibility
(CSR) refers to the social and environmental responsibility policies and practices developed by an
organization to increase its positive influence and reduce its negative activity towards society
(Schwartz 2010). Organizations must take responsibility for their actions and all the members of
the organization must comprehensively review and consider all their tasked achievements and
contributions. A healthy balance between economic progress, social responsibility, and
environmental protection can lead to a competitive advantage and solidify an organization s place
as a corporate citizen (Dickinson, et.al, 2008). Corporate citizenship goes beyond charitable
donations and public relations it is an important determinant of trust in communities in which the
organization may operate, helps attract and retain the best employees, and ensures integration of
everyday business operations and corporate goals (Lewis 2011). CSR reporting is a voluntary
disclosure that provides managers and employees with needed information to make decisions that
help improve processes and products. Examples include management earnings forecast, social and
environmental reports, information on achieved projects and company targets, and risks
management. Internal reporting provides critical feedback to employees that enables them to see
how their individual contributions add to the success of the organization.

Adversity In Harrison Bergeron
Is adversity important in society? Harrison Bergeron is a short story written by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
It is about a dystopian future that is overly exaggerated as a future for it s ridiculous methods of
equality, such as handicapping someone so they are like everyone else. In The Giver everyone is
similar or transpires to be; competition isn t infatuated for, so no one strives for it. Adversity really
isn t considered a pleasant quality; it more makes you an outcast than anything else; however,
adversity influences the human essence of creativity, improvement, and competition, which all
prosper enjoyment. Jonas, the main character of The Giver, becomes different by being an
intellectual (pg. 127). He knows more than most and therefore feels

The Importance Of Gratitude In The Workplace
In organizations, much like in life, a person s perspective determines one s morale or attitude more
than in any actual situation. Organizational culture and rules introduce a unique set of restraints
and expectations that influence how employees feel, think, and act on a daily basis. Gratitude is a
positive emotion that tends to be explicitly expressed, therefore, employees are particularly aware
when it is happening, whether it is through words or actions (Fehr et al., 2017). Practice shows that
increasing gratitudein a workplace leads to positive outcomes across multiple organizational levels,
specifically benefiting the organization itself, its employees, and its customers. Therefore, it is in
the company s best interest to employ gratitude at all levels in order to create a positive work
environment.
According to Merriam Webster dictionary, gratitude is the state of being grateful (Gratitude).
However, this definition is too narrow to apply to organizational behavior studies. In fact,
researchers have defined gratitude as a type of positive emotion that is typically experienced when
an individual perceives another person s intentional generosity toward that individual (Chang, Y.,
Lin, Y., Chen, L., 2012). Hence, the meaning of gratitude from a social psychology point is more
important in a study of organizational behavior, because the results can be quantified. By analyzing
the results, predictions to future behavior of employees are developed. Consequently,

Lake Mountain Research Paper
On Sunday morning, Mum and Dad decided to bring us to toboggan at Lake Mountain. We woke
up at 7:45am in the morning, got changed and started our journey to Lake Mountain. As we were
driving along Plenty Rd, we stopped at the Bundoora Hungry Jacks for breakfast. Although, the
bacon egg muffin was crispy, it didn t have the same taste as the normal muffin. Despite this, we
continued our trip to Lake Mountain. Our adventure to Lake Mountain consisted of many winding
roads and narrow roads. After two hours of driving, we reached Fernshaw and the fog was
thickening but soon after, we reached Marysville. In Marysville, we hired toboggans and snow
boots from the local store. After that, we made our way up the mountain and saw huge piles of
snow along the side of the road. On the top of the mountain, we paid a car entry of $57 and parked
the car in the car park.
We changed into our ski attire and headed towards the Village , where the main toboggan slope
was. We had a few goes down the mountain and experienced many different difficulties along the
way. After 20 minutes worth of fun, we headed down to the Koala Creek. The Koala Creek was a

The Day Canada Became a Nation Essay
In World War I, the victory of the Allies was caused by the turning point of a stalemate on the
Western Front of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. It was the Canadians willingness to forgo nationalism
in the interests of efficiency and effectiveness that marked a new (Dickson 40) transition of the
ending of war. Through the second battle of Ypres, the Battle of Aras, and observing the previous
bloodbath at the Battle of The Somme, the Canadian Expeditionary Force (C.E.F) perfected their
defense tactics and techniques to fight in the evolutionary battle that made Canadaa nation.
When Great Britain declared war on Germany in 1914, the Dominion of Canada was automatically

Vimy Ridge. On 22 April 1915 the second Battle of Ypres established the reputation of the
Canadians being a fighting force. This was created through the Ypres Salient, which is where the
British and allied line pushed into the German line in a concave bend. The Germans held the

fictitious stories, but sometimes based on true events, that teach a moral lesson or offer an
explanation for mysterious events. Urban legends are told throughout the world and are
distorted a little based on who tells them and where they are told. These stories can never be traced
back to the original source because they are always heard from a friend of a friend. Urban legends

Sociological Analysis Of The Titanic Essay
Sociological analysis of the Titanic When researching movies for my paper, I decided that the
Titanic was the perfect option. Being that the movie was based on the true event of the RMS
Titanic sinking, I knew I could also find a lot of research during the time of the Titanic to help
strengthen my paper. The movie Titanic took place in the early 1900 s, a time rich in
sociological issues. Their way of life was a lot different than ours today. Some major sociological
concepts that were shown several times in the movie were, social stratification, gender inequality
and sexism, inequality of income, and discrimination. During this time period people faced huge
gaps in wealth, gender, class, and race. Gaps between the rich and poor were extreme. The wealthy
were rich and the poor were in poverty. The middle classwas not a common standing within
society: you were either upper or lower class. It was very difficult to rise above the lower class
standing, and easier to fall below the upper class line (Prezi web). Men dominated in almost all
social standings; voting, ownership of land, professions, wealth, etc. Women were still viewed as
property and in most ways, treated as such. The gap between the upper and lower class caused
discrimination amongst them. Lower class was treated poorly by the upper class and seen as less
worthy. In my paper I plan to include all of these sociological issues, and clearly connect them
within the movie, Titanic. The movie Titanic was a drama,

Structural Functionalism, Conflict Theory, And Symbolic...
This response addresses question four and define the provided theories, which include structural
functionalism, conflict theory, and symbolic interactionism. In doing so, various components of the
theories are identified in relation to the topic of social change. In doing so, it is important to point
out that in sociology, theories are used to explain the patterns, the way groups of people decide to
perform specific actions, and the way societies do certain things or rather experience a change in a
different manner. On the other hand, social change implies the growth and development of a social
order, which bears some significant consequences.
To begin with, structural functionalism looks at the society as a bundle of a complex system with
different parts that work to support the whole. It stipulates that a society is a combination of
interrelated components, which work independently, but seek to achieve a common goal, which
supports the growth of the whole system. Some of the systems in the society include the
government, schools, businesses, and families. In essence, all these different components are
fundamental in the society as they serve different functions to develop the society. On the other
hand, social conflict theory looks at the society as a system with equal components, but within the
endeavors to grow to find themselves in conflicting paths. Thinking about the society, some of the
trends lead to conflict among the people living together. For example, ageism,

and install third party applications. Jailbreaking a iphone can be a relatively simple task to do.
There are two types of jailbreak you can perform on your iPhone, and they are a tethered
jailbreak and an untethered jailbreak. 1) Tethered jailbreak: This method is not recommended,
as it requires you to jailbreak your iPhone by connecting it to your computer every time you
switch off your phone or if the battery dies. Usually, this method is only performed when a new
software update for the iPhone is released and an untethered jailbreak method is unavailable. 2)
Untethered jailbreak: This method involves connecting your iPhone to your computer once and
jailbreaking it. After doing this, your phone remains jailbroken even after it switches off and you
switch it back on again. In other words, the jailbreaking process is permanently done on your
iPhone without needing to be done again if you reboot your phone. Of course if you wish to un

Essay On Port Royal
Introduction
In the Civil War, there were many battles and key points that helped in the victory of the Union.
The Battle of Port Royal was the second battle of the Civil War. The Battle of Port Royal
culminated an amphibious operation designed to establish a United States military depot on the
southeastern coast to carry out land and sea operations against the Confederacy (Wise 2016). This
battle gave the Union its first victory. In November 1861 the Union attacked the Confederate at Port
Royal, South Carolina. This battle lasted for four days from November Third, 1861 to November
Seventh, 1861. This battle had the Union fighting the Confederate for control over the port. The
Union took control and shut down the port. This Union victory shut down a place of resources for
the Confederate.

a blockade of all Southern ports ( The story of the Battle of Port Royal 2012).After the fall of Fort
Sumter, there was a new order for the ports to be closed. The South refused this order. Because of

Female Portrayal in Disney Cartoon Films
Most of the world s youth grow up watching Disney films. As family movies should, these films
demonstrate appropriate behavior through the characters in them and can teach semi useful lessons
to the children who watch. Of course children don t always pick up every message that the movies
they watch are set to convey, but watching these films as an adult may raise an eyebrow or two.
These movies consist of young, naГЇve, and beautiful princesses doing what it takes to be freed
from a bad circumstance and ultimately falling in love along the way. Is it sexist? Sexism is
defined as attitudes or behavior based on traditional stereotypes of sexual roles; discrimination or
devaluation based on a person s sex, as in restricted job opportunities; especially, such
discrimination directed against women. In the real world, women have fought a long time for
equal rights as men and are still fighting to overcome some disadvantages. Just like children, some
adults also might not find anything wrong with the films and see it as harmless entertainment for
their kids. Their apathy over the matter can be due to the fact that they genuinely don t care or just
don t think about it. Although everyone should care to an extent, people who actually might care or
think about this subject matter are usually feminists. But even feminists have different ideologies

His work expressed alienation of modern man and failure of communication and also loss of
meaning. His plays like bold Soprano, The lesson, Rhinoceros they also depict man s lack of
communication with himself and with others in the society. Bold Soprano, the chairs are fully in

For Samuel Beckett absurdity is abstract dilemma it deals with unreal ad philosophical ideas. To
Eugene Ionesco absurdity is related with concrete things but both of these writes are adhered to the
same idea and this is reflected in their plays, that absurdity is always the result of linguistic
deficiency in modern man life, failures in communication, impossibility of expressing the ideas
through language. They unveil the tragic situation of human being and elaborate personal
disruption of modern man from his self, his disgruntlement plight, insufficiency and meagerness of
language.
There is not enough work and that s why linguistic deficiency becomes a unique topic for
research. Language is researched in some ways, like long sentences, speeches yet but the way
linguistic deficiency leads to torments and fragmentation of individuals and further leads to
modern man tragedy is a very unique topic for research. Beckett s Eng Game is also explored by
many researchers in different ways, in terms of characterization, in terms of thematic concerns,
time, absurdity, there is also work on absurd language but that is not enough especially when it
comes to linguistic deficiency and its dire consequence in a absurd drama and in modern man s

working at the age of eleven like many of my cousins did when they were that age? Would I have
just received up to the middle school of education? All these thoughts are scary to even think
about, and I cannot imagine how my family members manage to live through all that back in
Mexico. Somehow they ve achieved it and can stay happy. The spontaneous moments that my
mom, my brother and I had to go through still run crawling through my head. The scariest
moments of my life, as well as the most grateful moment in my life, awaited us. Never in a
million years did I bare to think that a shift was to occur in our lives ten years later.I don t
remember much, but the things I do remember I imagine them precisely in my head. As I grew
older, the images that once floated in my head started to fade away slowly like morning beauty
fades away from her grievous day. As the years passed, I remembered less and less about the long
journey we had to experience. But one thing I can never forget is the day we left that minty color
house. In which then made our way to the municipal busstation. That morning everyone was at my

Comparing Devlin to Mill.
A Comparative Analysis of Devlin and Mill
It can be assumed that if J.S. Mill and Lord Devlin ever coexisted some intoxicating deliberations
regarding the role of morality in society would transpire. However, time has a peculiar habit of
erecting boundaries amid centuries, allowing us only to presume discourse between the
contemporary and the historical. Consequentially, each individual has an obligation to formulate
his or her own appraisal established through the logistic unification of the particular instant and one
s own conception of idealistic righteousness. But the acquisition of an infallible and tangible
philosophy with universal application would be as obstinate to create as it would to fathom. In such
regard, the apparatus on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover Devlin asserts that moral legislation is crucial to maintain a social bond. He maintains
that society has a right to protect its own existence by barring behavior that threatens that existence.
This is distinctly divergent from Mill s perceptions on paternalism.
Mill claimed that there must be unconditional rejection of paternalism by the state, only invalidated
to prevent persons from selling themselves into slavery. Reinforcing his case Mill argued that
paternalistic intervention is unlikely to work because an individual is acutely more aware of his or
her own needs than the state is. Additionally, he argued that it is improbable compulsion would
work. This can also be taken into account in the form of liberty. Mill alleges that an autonomous life
has more value than a life of dependency, since one cannot be forced to be autonomous paternalism
has a damaging effect on an individual. As a contemporarily relevant issue, Devlin indirectly
delivers his rebuttal to paternalism by embodying a stance on homosexuality. He defends societies
right to protect its own existence by vetoing behavior that threatens its sustainability, since
homosexuality is detrimental to society that union has a right to prohibit it. This is consistent with
Devlin s definition of tangible harm , described as a harm that instigates a diminution of the
physical strength of society. When practiced in trivial quantities these activities can be harmless,

The Columbine Massacre
The Columbine Massacre Were They Pushed or Did They Jump What would drive two
seemingly normal high schoolers to try and slaughter everyone they went to school with? Was it
the bullying, angst or video games and movies? Or none of the above. As we examine what led up
to one of the worst domestic terrorist acts in American history I think we ll that find Eric Harris
and Dylan Kleboldweren t your average teenagers. In my opinion they were cold blooded killers
who had every intention to take as many lives as they could. At approximately 11:10 on April 20th
1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold went to their high schooland carried out a coordinated attack,

Julian Informative Speech
We know so little. There are so few facts recorded, we don t even know her name but I can tell
you we know her impact and can feel her work stretching through decades and centuries to continue
to inspire and shape the lives of people today. This is Julian of Norwich.
Julian was born in 1342 in Norwich, England and spent most of her life as an anchorite, a recluse
living alone in an closed room attached to the parish church of St Julian of LeMans at Conisford
in Norwich. Though few biographic details are known about Julian, it is likely she came from a
wealth family as anchoresses had to prove they could support themselves through some form of
income before they could be enclosed. Julian s name could have been her baptism name or she may
have followed the custom of taking the name of the saint attached to the church of which she
became an anchorite.
Julian recognised her need for deeper love and knowledge of Christ and appealed to God, asking
for three things. Firstly she prayed for revelations so she could gain a greater understanding of
Christ s passion. Secondly she asked for a near death experience which would allow her to
experience all that a body and soul could including the last rites but survive. Allowing her to live a
more consecrated life being more mindful of God. Julian s final request was for three wounds ...

The Role Of Inhibitory Modulation Of Languages Among...
The Role of Inhibitory Modulation of Languages among Bilinguals
In a rich linguistic environment, where more than 7000 languages are spoken in 149 countries,
multilingualism and bilingualism are inevitable (Crystal, 2003; Grosjean, 2010). While the causes
of increased bilingualism and multilingualism can vary, the repercussions of this demographic shift
are wide reaching (O Brien, Curtin, Naqvi, 2014). Consequently, research on bilingualism and
multilingualism has also dramatically increased in the last few years in quantity, quality and breadth
(Bhatia William, 2013).
In the past two decades, series of discoveries has changed the way bilingualism was understood
(Kroll, Bobb, Hoshino, 2014). The consequences of bilingualism are not limited to native and
second language but appear to reflect reorganization of brain networks that hold implications for the
ways in which bilinguals negotiate cognitive competition more generally. The bilingual experience
for every individual is unique as it depends upon the context, linguistic proficiency, and purpose.
There is also a great variability in the amount and quality of exposure to the languages that the
individual learns. Due to this capriciousness in bilingual characteristics, defining bilingualism
becomes problematic and raises number of theoretical and methodological concerns (Hamers Blanc,
2000).
The term bilingualism is generally defined as an individual s ability to use two languages (ASHA,
2004; European

This report will examine the success of Singapore Airlines(SIA) Pte Ltd. It will show how the
company vision, culture, values and operational strategies help propel SIA into becoming the world

how both internal and external environment impacts the growth of SIA and how the competitive
environment stimulates the growth of this company.
2.0 Background of SIA
It all began in 1947 when Malayan Airways started having scheduled services from Singapore,

Airline suppliers expands drastically in their research and development in order to bring new
levels of comfort and new fleets in order to boost sales. And again by bring in new fleets, it gives
customer a sense of security. New developments made a huge impact on Singapore Airlines. Its
carrier are the very few with younger fleets in the market and on top of that it s the first to adopt
new innovations such as reclining seats and seatback entertainment system with headsets.
Environmental
In recent years, there is a growing concern among passengers regarding environmentally friendly
services. Due to carbon reduction targets and increasing energy prices, this preference is likely to
grow. Certain airlines have already started to tackle this green issue, amalgamating into their
company social responsibility. But SIA has been slow to respond to this demand from customers.
Legal
Changing the regulatory framework may impact heavily on airlines, especially those which are
national carriers. Each government has their own outlook and strategies, which may impact the
aviation industry heavily. For example, the terrorist event that happened in September 11, 2001.
After the incident there were huge changes being made in security which impacted customers

Examples Of Racial Disparity In Sentencing
Racial Disparities in Sentencing In a country where many believe the hatchet of racism was

as a colorblind nation, a nation where if you work hard and do right, you ll fulfill the American
Dream. Often this dream is accompanied with challenge after challenge for people of color. Of
course what first must be asked is if racism is still present in our justice system and in the fabric

It is important to realize that one of the greatest challenges that has been and is still currently
faced by people of color is the racial disparity in sentencing in the criminal justice system. As
seen by criminal justice reform agency, The Sentencing Project, Racial minorities are more
likely than white Americans to be arrested; once arrested, they are more likely to be convicted;
and once convicted, they are more likely to face stiff sentences ( Shadow Report to the United
Nations ). This can easily be interpreted by observing the data presented (see fig.1), according to
the Bureau of Justice Statistics, one in every three black males are likely to be imprisoned
within their lifetime and one in every six Latino males are likely to be imprisoned within their
lifetime as well, this in comparison to the fact that one in every seventeen white males are likely
to be imprisoned within their lifetime is quite disgraceful. Although it is very hard to swallow, this
is just one of the many harsh realities which face progressive America. This only helps in asking
the question, in this new progressive, post racial America is this racial gap in sentencing showing
any considerable decrease? One manner in which the racial gap can be understood is the fact that
whites commit certain crimes at a

Censorship In Children s Literature
Censorship In Children s Literature Euphemism, a form of indirect censorship, is often used to
substitute certain phrases in order to soften their influence. The word dead becomes passed away ,
one who was once disabled is now physically impaired , and what used to be considered firing a
worker , is called employee termination . These euphemisms are used to protect their audience from
the reality, and although they sometimes serve to censor people from the truth, they ineffectively
protect children from explicit content in many forms of literature. Despite the fact that And Tango
Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, and Charlotte s Web by E.B. White are
excellent children novels that teach meaningful lessons,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the authors have tried to dampen the plot with the use of euphemisms, society feels
that stories, such as Richardson and Parnell s picture books, require further censorship. The authors
of And Tango Makes Three fail to show the hardships of being openly gay, and therefore mislead
young readers into thinking that it is as easy to be a homosexual in today s society as it is to be
a heterosexual. Children are given false hope as to what life will be like in the future if they are
to become homosexuals, and although it is certainly possible for a gay couple to live a simple
life like Roy and Silo, the reality is that there will be many more struggles for them to be openly
gay. Richardson and Parnell show Roy and Silo s struggles while they try to create a family as,
Day after day Silo and Roy sat on the rock, (Richardson and Parnell, 17), hoping they would
become like the other penguins in the zoo. However, this aspect of the story did not portray how
difficult it can be in reality for a gay couple to form a family. It is said that Roy and Silo are,
...just like the other penguin couples, (Richardson and Parnell, 12), which does not accurately
portray what life is like for homosexuals. The authors have created a perfect world for Roy and
Silo, where the only difference between them and the other penguins is that they are unable to
produce eggs themselves. Although this is a society that many dream of one that contains no
discrimination against homosexuality many areas in the world have not yet reached this level of
civility, which misleads children into thinking life as a homosexual will be as simple for them as
it was for Roy and Silo. In addition, E.B. White fails to show the harsh actions that farmers
typically take for animals that are considered to be useless. In reality,

The Texas Adoption Study
When examining the human development, considering the input of both environmental influence
and biological inheritance is significant. Empiricists believe that development is influenced by
social factors and environmental experiences. On the other hand nativists view development as
predisposed and defined by the genetic codes of an individual, including those that subsequently
mature with age (Keating, 2011, P1). Genes are a major influence on certain physical aspects,
along with a few illnesses. The positive relationship between genetically related individuals who
acquire similar physical features causes assumptions as to whether behavioural, personality and
psychological attributes could also be inherited (McLeod, 2007). Thus the nature approach, which

Essay On Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis is a disease that affects many organs in the human body. The signs and symptoms
are different in each person that has this disease. The organs that are usually affected are the
sinuses, lungs, the skin, liver, and pancreas, the intestines and reproductive organs. Cystic fibrosis
causes thick mucus to accumulate in the respiratory system. It can also cause pancreatic and liver
ducts to become blocked causing various problems. The protein of the cystic fibrosisgene is called
the Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR). The gene is located on
7q31.2 long arm of chromosome 7 at position 31.2. The CF gene also has 27 exons and is made up
of 250,000 DNA nucleotides. CFTR moves chloride ions out of cells which is very important for

The Dissection Of A Poorly Defined Concept
In searching for understanding in nursing, the dissection of a poorly defined concept often results
in subsequent reflection and action toward comprehension (Bousso, Poles, De Almeida Lopes

ambiguous concepts by exhaustive examination of particularly clinically relevant phenomenon.
This knowledge can then be later extrapolated to develop new theories or simply be reformulated
to refine concepts (Bousso et al., 2014). In analyzing quality of life(QOL), this writing attempts to
reveal a more solidified and practical definition by evaluating the concepts common themes across
various literature sources. The concepts universal attributes,... Show more content on

The dimensions were specifically chosen to allow measurement through specific indicators and

perceptions of cognitive appreciation, emotional states and the presence of meaning and purpose

A bit more simply, the Global Development and Research Center defines QOL as subjective well
being that is directly correlated with the difference between hope and expectation of a person and
their immediate life experience (Global Development Research Center [GDRC], n.d.).
The United States Environmental Protection Agency defines and measures the QOL as happiness
and subjective expression of well being with a focus on life satisfaction, positive experiences and
emotions and the absence of negative experiences and emotions (Organisation for Economic Co

Violence In Video Games
To a lazy onlooker, violence in art has no other meaning than that of a primal nature. The use of
violence in abstraction is akin to the use of color in a painting. Video games and films in particular
are subject to such scrutiny as the use of violence is common in these mediums. The point of art
such as these is to express ideas, provide entertainment, and persuade the audience to think.
Therefore, it is absurd to think that video gamesand movies could invoke violent feelings onto
someone. There is no concrete evidence that supports the claim that society is negatively affected
by violencein video games and movies. The evidence that those of the opposite opinion consistently
cite are weak examples that can simply be attributed to other things than entertainment. For
instance, the Columbine shooters played video games frequently and this is used as one piece of
qualitative data that many opposition members cite. However, this cannot be used when describing
the greater populace; the Virginia Tech shooter never played video games and was seen as strange
for not doing so by his peers. Another typical point that the U.S. has the highest homicide rate in the
world and Americans have significant video gameuse. However, the Japanese are extremely avid
gamers, more so than Americans, and have an annual homicide rate close to zero. There is,
however, no doubt that many forms of media, written or visual are bloody. As Dr. Eugene Beresin

Baking Soda Vs Baking Powder
Two of the staple ingredients you will find in almost any home baker s pantry are baking powder
and baking soda. This is because they are critical leavening agents that provide volume and
lightness in a recipe. The volume is created by the a leavening agent s ability to produce air
bubbles from the mixing and baking processes. However, don t confuse baking powder with baking
soda because they are not interchangeable. Both have similar properties but not identical ones. In
order, to diffuse the confusion we must answer the question...
What it baking soda?

American Constitution Dbq
The American Constitution was questionable from the earliest starting point, as thoughts were
separated between backers an answer for all the country s issues, and commentators a depravity of
its republican standards. The supporters trusted that the Constitution augmented their republican
thoughts, adding another level to the chose government, while the faultfinders trust the republicans
worked in little political units, for this situation the states. The most effective method to separate
the force between state governments and focal government was in this way a principle contention
while the Constitution was composed furthermore later in time, remaining a vital issue until today.

THEORIES OF THE ORIGIN OF THE UNIVERSE
1.Steady State Theory #8211; based on the perfect cosmological principle that the universe looks the
same from any location at anytime. This theory holds that the universe is unchanging, it has no
beginning and no end.
2.Big Bang Theory #8211; presupposes that the vast universe grew out of something where all
matter and energy were compressed to infinite density and heated to trillions of degrees (a
beginning which was an immensely small particle of high density state. The four basic forces of
nature #8211; gravity, electromagnetism, strong and weak atomic forces #8211; were unified in
that tiny particle. This particle exploded into a great fire ball releasing the basic forces. Rapid

Here is where the star leaves the main sequence. This collapse begins to create more and more
pressure inside the star until it is sufficient to have the fusing process of helium begin in the core,
while some of the remaining hydrogen burns just outside of it. The products of this helium burning
is carbon and oxygen. The star swells, and depending on its size, either becomes a red giant or a
red supergiant.

THEORIES OF THE ORIGIN OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM
The Accretion theory
This assumes that the Sun passed through a dense interstellar cloud and emerged surrounded by a
dusty, gaseous envelope. It thus separates the formation of the Sun from that of the planets thus
losing problem 1.
The problem which remains is that of getting the cloud to form the planets. The terrestrial planets
can form in a reasonable time but the gaseous planets take far too long to form. The theory does
not explain satellites or Bode s law and must be considered the weakest of those described here.
The Protoplanet theory
This assumes that initially there is a dense interstellar cloud which will eventually produce a
cluster of stars. Dense regions in the cloud form and coalesce; as the small blobs have random
spins the resulting stars will have a low rotation rates. The planets are smaller blobs captured by the
star. The small blobs would have higher rotation than is seen in the planets but the theory accounts

The Explosion Of Rock N Roll Era
The explosion of Rock n Roll in the mid 1950 s helped bring to the forefront of American society
the idea that social, cultural, and musical change was deeply needed. By 1959, the initial
success and jolt of the Rock n Roll era, that took the American youth by storm three years earlier,
had officially fallen apart at the seams. The late 1950 s and early 1960 s marked a period of
decline for the Rock and Roll genre. The parting of Elvis Presley for the military in 1958, the
death of Buddy Holly and two other members of The Crickets in 1959, and the departure of the
other members of Rock and Roll s Big Five throughout much of the late 1950 s had devastated
America s hope for social and musical change (Ashton Lecture). With this breakdown of Rock n
Roll, came an era that was once again dominated and mesmerized by the Jazz, Pop and Country
Western genres. The Rock and Roll flame that captivated so many American citizens throughout
much of the 1950 s was slowly beginning to dwindle back into the darkness. As all hope seemed
to be lost, a new dawn for Rock and Roll was gradually appearing. In 1963 1964 with the
introduction of a small British band from Liverpool, England, the dawn that everyone was waiting
for had finally arrived and with it would change Rock n Roll history forever.
The Beatles, for many people, was one of the greatest Rock n Roll bands to ever live. Throughout
their illustrious career, The Beatles were able not only to revolutionize and influence the

Episode Of Doctor Who Or Phil Of The Future
It s completely inevitable to switch through dimensions with such simplicity. I mean, unless you
re in an episode of Doctor Who or Phil of the Future, then I guess you could say anything is
possible. As kids, we often think about getting in a time machine and flying through time, like
endng up in the year 3000 or even way back in the dinosaur era. The whole aspect of it really
seems fun when you expect everything to go your way. Unless, of course, you re me, Camryn
Matthews. On that bright Saturday afternoon, everything was going great. Work was going
smoothly and my friends were coming over that night. Everything was going just as I planned. I
was basically the type of girl to want everything to go my way, but not in the super obnoxiously
bratty way; in the stubborn way. Going out with my girls was going to be a huge hit. Despite the
fact that there is nothing to actually do in our town in Florida, we are determined to make it
one. As time rolled by, I was finally out the door; walking unsteady while still trying to
accomplish putting my heels on correctly. This was about to be the best time of my life, or so I
thought. Around 1 AM, my life changed in ways no one could imagine. Being rolled down the
hospital hallway, I had no clue what was going on. Shaking and trembling, I was covered in blood.
I asked the doctor, yet got no response. I slowly reached up to feel the back of my head, curious as
to what I would find, and there it was; an oversized, bloody hole. I

John Milton Cage Influence On Society
The classical period was a revolutionary start of music for decades to come. Many composers prior
to the 1920s gained their fame and fortune through music and their creativity in composing. John
Milton Cage, Jr. was born in Los Angeles on September 5th in 1912. Cage was the son of John
Milton Cage, Sr., an inventor, hence the creativeness yet to come through his music. In 1928, Cage
graduated from Los Angles High School with the intent to pursue a degree in writing. Cage
studied about two years at Pamona College, travelled Europe for around eighteen months, and then
resumed school at UCLA. He discovered at The New School in New York and at UCLA, whilst
studying with Richard Buhlig, Arnold Schoenberg, Adolph Weiss, and Henry Cowell, his desire

Cage began experimenting with music by placing screws and plates between the strings of a
piano to generate different sounds, known as the prepared piano . He also experimented with
tape recorders, record players, and radios, finding the music around him in the simplest objects,
otherwise not considered instruments by the typical composer or musician. After realizing his
makeshift instruments were not what he needed, he began brainstorming ideas for new
instruments. Pieces such as Imaginary Landscape No. 4 and Water Music were just a few
examples of his creativity in music. For Imaginary Landscape No. 4 Cage used twelve radios
played at once to create this composition. Water Music was created by combining shells and
water to form a masterpiece. Cage used unimaginable items such as kitchen gadgets, metal sheets,
various common objects, and even silence to create a discovery no other composer had
considered before. Through his music, he turned the everyday sounds we hear into something so
much more. He performed with his percussion ensemble in New York at the Museum of Modern
Art in 1943. This was the start of a life long musical career to call his

The Pros And Cons Of The Wealth Of Nations
The Wealth of Nations often considered to be merely a textbook of economics, is more of
prescriptive text that endeavours to advice legislators on the manner in which it should structure
those policies and institutions that support the practices of production and exchange. The purpose
of doing so, it seems, is to best encourage public opulence and as a result public happiness and well
being.
This text, not just a product of the intellectual musings of an armchair philosopher, was born out of
a culmination of extraneous events and systems that were prevalent at the time of its conception.

Smith, however, was of the opinion that Mercantile System was deeply flawed. Firstly, as given
in the Fourth Book (3) of the Wealth of Nations, he argued that the real wealth of a nation was
not in the unconsumable riches of money, but in the consumable goods annually reproduced by
the labour of the society . (4) Secondly, the balance of trade, as observed by him, often did little
to enhance the wealth of a nation and instead served to create violent national animosity instead.
He instead put forth the idea of a balance of annual production and consumption, which if it were
unfavourable would have caused a decay of the wealth of a nation. Thirdly, Prof. Smith was a
strong critic of the idea of colonialism; stating that, To found a great empire for the sole purpose
of raising up a people of customers, may at first sight, appear a project fit only for a nation of
shopkeepers. It is, however, a project altogether unfit for a nation of shopkeepers, but extremely fit
for a nation whose government is influenced by shopkeepers. Such statesmen, and such statesmen
only, are capable of fancying that they will find some advantage in employing the blood and
treasure of their fellow citizens, to found and maintain such an empire. (5) The implication being
that the idea of colonialism was of an extremely oppressive nature, beneficial only to the colonial

Meaning And Symbols Of The Eucharist
Religion remains the only unifying factor among different people globally regardless of the social
status, gender, age, political affiliation and skin color. The world has many religions that people
believe in although all religions believe in one Supreme Being who created the universe. However,
the means through which the people believe in the Supreme Being comes in different ways
depending on the religion and its beliefs. In the different religions, many practices resemble but
have different names attached to them based on the people, their location, and their religious
teachings they follow. Such practices include the Lord s Supper as referred by most Protestant
churches while the Catholics refer the same as the Eucharist. Happenings during that time become
important to every person who believes in the Supreme Being through His Son JesusChrist. The
events surround the time when Jesus sat with his disciples and had the last meal with them in His
human body hence signifying an important event in the life if every believer. The Eucharist,
therefore, becomes important in defining the life of a Catholic and the manner in which they need
to emulate the life of Christ. Eucharist hence remains as a vital element to every Catholic who
believes and prays through the Holy Virgin Mary the mother of Jesus who intercedes for them to
the Supreme Being and the Creator of the Universe.

The O 1 Bird Dog Essay
The O 1 Bird Dog The First World War clearly demonstrated that airplanes had a promising career
in warfare. With rapid development creating larger, faster and more capable aircraft the task of
putting their munitions on target became increasingly complex and called for a new type of
control. In March of 1942 FM 31 35 defined the role of the Air Ground Cooperation Parties
(AGCP) (Farmer Strumwasser, 1967). The role of the AGCP was to coordinate airborne fires in
support of ground units and the AGCP cell was assumed to be located with the headquarters
element, usually detached from the front line (Farmer Strumwasser, 1967). Through continued
evolution of the AGCP concept the observer was moved further from the headquarters and
placed on or near the front lines to provide immediate tactical control of airborne fires platforms.
The AGCP concept proved to be so effective that it continued development through the Second
World War and into the Korean War. With the predominance of close air support aircraft located
far away at Itazuki Air Base in Japan during the Korean War a ground based controller was
ineffective at identifying targets for the pilots to engage before they needed to return for fuel
(Farmer Strumwasser, 1967). This led to the airborne Forward Air Controller (FAC). Flying a
small maneuverable craft at low levels airborne FAC s could easily pick out targets unseen from
ground level and quickly vector or lead attack planes to them for engagement. The

The prices of these seats however tend to change in accordance with the days that the bookings
of these flights are made available till the date of departure (Koenigsberg, Muller and Vicassim,
2008). All bookings for easyJet are made straight from either telephones or the internet; this
made it very easy to incorporate the web into its central booking system. By achieving this, there
were no possible channel conflicts with other intermediaries, for example with travel agents
Easyjet s website illustrates their pricing policy as being based on supply and demand, and
prices usually increase as seats are sold on every flight. Basically the sooner a person books, the
cheaper the flight ticket would be . The web also states that the low cost scheme of easyJet is not
tickets, no ties to other networks, no travel agents and no on flight meals. (easyJet plc., 2010). A
pin code is also given for each customer s booking that is done on the website which is given to
travellers upon arrival at the airport.
Brand Strategy:
To gain a competitive advantage, most companies tend to implement a brand strategy. What makes
easyJet stand out amongst its competitors is their image of a low budget airline and no frills
services; this brand strategy is simple but strong. EasyJets whole company is recognised by their
unique orange logo, this color also forms part of the uniform worn by their staff, which in turn is a
strong recognised tool by the consumers.

Warrior 3 Pose Analysis
To get into Warrior 1 pose, you must start at the top of your mat in mountain pose. Then, step the
left foot back at an angle that allows the hips to remain square towards the front of the mat. When
bending the right leg, it is important to not extend the knee passed the ankle. Joints should be
stacked on top of each other to avoid compromising the knee. There are a few hand variations, but
hands are typically reached up over head. A benefit of this pose that I personally experience is the
opening of the hips and chest. By squaring your hips towards to the front of the mat, the entire front
of the body becomes more open, which helps with improving respiration.
There are various ways to get into Warrior 2 pose. Coming from Warrior 1, the arms are brought
down to a T position while the hips are turned towards the right side of the mat. You may need to
increase the space between your feet, but keep the left leg bent directly over your ankle as it was
during Warrior 1. Once the legs are adjusted, look over to both arms to ensure that they are
leveled. The final pose includes the eyes gazing over the left hand. A benefit that I experience with
this pose is the strength in my legs. I am very mindful to shift the weight of my bending leg

The Warrior 3 pose usually begins in mountain pose, followed by extending your arms up then
down into a forward fold. From this forward fold, the hands must be stable on the ground as you
lift one foot up. The hips should still be parallel to the ground to avoid overextending the leg.
Being sure that your standing leg is stable, slowly lift the hands and upper body until it is in line
with the lifted leg. This pose mainly focuses on balance and stability in the standing leg. Warrior
3 allows me to be more mindful of how I distribute weight on my feet because the pose requires
the use of all parts of the feet to bear weight for maximum

Analysis Of Blowin In The Wind
Dylan s early music, written as part of this folk revival, reflects this individualist style of political
folk songs, but the degree and subject of political conviction seems to be less important to him
than the expression of emotion, and a certain identification of himself as being political. This is
readily apparent in his work from the 1963 album The Freewheelin Bob Dylan. Two of his great
early political forays, Blowin in the Wind and Masters of War , play in quite nicely with the
notion that this generation of folk artists were more abstract, asking less rational, or rhetorical,
questions, and expressing an anger with the world, but not offering much in the way of action.
The second verse of Blowin in the Wind expresses an anger with society s willingness to sit idly
by in the face of injustices, but due to its vague language, this anger is not directed at any
particular instance of injustice: How many years can some people exist/Before they re allowed
to be free/Yes, n how many times can a man turn his head/And pretend that he just doesn t see
/The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind/The answer is blowin in the wind. Moreover, the
refrain is also incredibly ambiguous, and like much of the ephemeral political music of the time,
doesn t offer a concrete solution to the problem. Masters of War offers a scathing indictment of
the arms build up of the Cold War. Much of the song calls for the death of the war profiteers, and
offers a grim image in

Tips On Online Casino Bonus
Blog 29 How to stretch your online casino bonus
While it seems like there are countless welcome bonus and sign up offers available to players,
once one is claimed at an online casino that s it. At each online casino you register at you get one
welcome bonus and no more. That means that when an online casino bonus lands in your account
the key is to making last as long as possible. While this seems easy enough, it tends to be tougher
than most people realise. If you really want to see your online casino bonus last longer than five
minutes, I suggest you pay close attention to the following.
Tip No. 1 Don t grab the very first bonus you see
Part of the task of extending an online casino bonus as far as it can go actually begins with
registering for the right online casino bonus in the first place. The temptation is often to grab the
first bonus that you see, but seldom is that ever a good idea. You will want to look at online casino
portal before you do anything and find a casino bonus that is at least somewhat favourable towards
the player. Be patient, do you research, and find an online casino bonus that has extension potential.
Tip No. 2 Keep your bankroll under control
If you honestly believe that all you need to make it in the world of online casino gaming is an
online casino bonus you need to think again. Untold riches aren t going to land at your feet with
this approach and you will more than likely see that online casino bonus reduced to dust in a matter

Active Learner
Upon taken the study skills quiz my first score first was active. I was a reflective learner, which
prefer to think about it quietly at first versus being an active learner. I am not an active learner.
An active learner tends to retain and understand information best by doing something active with
it. If a student was an active learner in my classroom I would use the phrase, Let s try it out,
move around, and visually do it to see how it works. It tells the student that I am willing to be
active instead of sitting down all the time. By being active it keeps the student moving and
focused on the activity. (Scruggs, 2017) With an active learner, I would also try to do group work
more often so that each member can talk and be personable with each other. (Soloman, n.d.) By
doing activities in group work will also help an active learner retain information. If a math lesson...

Sensing learners like learning facts which I sometimes enjoy, because information is easier to
remember when connected to the real world. Versus intuitive learners often prefer discovering
possibilities and relationships, which I do not enjoy as much. If I had a student that was an
intuitive learner I would try to link information to hard facts and help a student pay attention to the
details and have patience while learning. An intuitive learner also can be kind of scatter brained,
so when presenting the intuitive student with a question, I would give them an empty piece of
paper to brainstorm on. (Felder, n.d.) By letting them brain storm it gives them a moment to
organize their thoughts and helps me as a teacher understand where their learning style is going
towards. Intuitive learners also like to use the trial and error approach, which I would allow my
student to do. If they had a thought or an idea and wanted to pursue it I would allow them to and
either have myself or another student follow along with them to ensure that they are correctly doing

  • 2. The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Essay Methods One major method that will be used will be the statistics taken from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) provided by the NC department of health. Also, data will be used for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Trust for America s Health study, done for the year 2015. Both of these will give pertinent data on what factors may increase obesity over the target population. While the method of this surveillance may use the BRFSS, there can be many more other methods that can be used. In evaluating a financial project, majority of the times the methods used during the evaluations will be quantitative, in order to prove financial gain (Makarova Sokolva, 2014). The same quantitative method can also be used in two different ways within this project. The first method used for quantitative reporting, would be as the same as Makarova Sokolva mentioned, which would be using it as a financial indicator of the overall success of the project (Makarova Sokolva, 2014). As stated earlier, obese individuals spend about 1,429 dollars more on health care than a normal individual (Finkelstein, Trodgdon, Cohen Dietz, 2009). If an analyst wanted to take this quantitative method, they would use the amount of money saved per year, over the course of an individual s life, as a way to show that the evaluation of a plan was successful. To further this, if the surveillance saw one person stay below obese for 25 years, this would yield a total savings of around ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Why Is Lewis Murdered LEWIS S DEATH ESSAY (Due 3.28.18) Meriwether Lewis is an American explorer who is known for his role as the leader in the Lewis and Clark expedition. He was also the governor of the Louisiana Territory. He was also Jefferson s private secretary, these two were close friends. Since Jefferson trusted Lewis, he let Lewis travel to D.C to deliver Jefferson s classified information. During Lewis s travel to Washington, he visited Robert Grinder s Inn to rest, however, while he was there he died. Lewis s death was a murder and not a suicide; Nevertheless, a murder by conspiracy. There was a autopsy report of the investigation by the medical examiner. Accordingly, it stated that Lewis had two gunshot wounds. One of the shots was in the back... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Looking back at the physical evidence there were two gunshot wounds. If you go back to the ballistic test, the gun that was used took some parts of the structure s head. If he shot himself with the gun that was similar to the horse pistol, that would ve been enough for him to die. It seems unlikely for him to be able to shoot himself once with that gun, proceed to reload the gun and shoot himself once more. He would ve been dead after one shot and would not be able to shoot himself again with that kind of gun. The evidence from Priscilla Grinder, it was pretty off and suspicious. Every letter was different along with the situation. Her story consistently changed and inconsistent. Then there was Russel s letter. The letter Major Russel wrote to Jefferson saying that Lewis was in a deranged state of mind and that he tried to commit suicide twice, however, this handwritten analysis wasn t written by him. This was a forged document and it showed that Jefferson was duked. It was possibly forged by Neely or Wilkinson to incriminate Lewis s Suicide . This evidence shows that Lewis s death is a murder and not a suicide. (Brad Meltzer s Decoded Season 1 Episode ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The religion of Islam is not named after a person as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Gotama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, and Marxism after Karl Marx. Nor was it named after a tribe like Judaism after the tribe of Judah and Hinduism after the Hindus. Islamis the true religionof Allah and as such, its name represents the central principle of Allah s Gods religion; the total submission to the will of Allah God . It consists in the submission to Allah as one God, yielding to Him by obeying His commandments, and the denial of polytheism and polytheists. THE MESSAGE OF FALSE RELIGION There are so many sects, cults, religions, philosophies, and movements in the world, all of which claim to be the right way or the only true path to Allah. How can one determine which one is correct or if, in fact, all are correct? The method by which the answer can be found is to clear away the superficial differences in the teachings of the various claimants to the ultimate truth, and identify the central object of worship to which they call, directly or indirectly. False religions all have in common one basic concept with regards to Allah. They either claim that all men are gods or that specific men were Allah or that nature is Allah or that Allah is a figment of man s imagination. Thus, it may be stated that the basic message of false religion is that Allah may be worshipped in the form of His creation. False religion invites man to the worship of creation by calling the creation or some aspect of it God. For example, prophet Jesus invited his followers to worship Allah but those who claim to be his followers today call people to worship Jesus, claiming that he was Allah! Buddha was a reformer who introduced a number of humanistic principles to the religion of India. He did not claim to be God nor did he suggest to his followers that he ... • 7. Corporate Social Responsibility in GRI SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING AND THE GRI Overview of CSR Corporate social responsibility (CSR) refers to the social and environmental responsibility policies and practices developed by an organization to increase its positive influence and reduce its negative activity towards society (Schwartz 2010). Organizations must take responsibility for their actions and all the members of the organization must comprehensively review and consider all their tasked achievements and contributions. A healthy balance between economic progress, social responsibility, and environmental protection can lead to a competitive advantage and solidify an organization s place as a corporate citizen (Dickinson, et.al, 2008). Corporate citizenship goes beyond charitable donations and public relations it is an important determinant of trust in communities in which the organization may operate, helps attract and retain the best employees, and ensures integration of everyday business operations and corporate goals (Lewis 2011). CSR reporting is a voluntary disclosure that provides managers and employees with needed information to make decisions that help improve processes and products. Examples include management earnings forecast, social and environmental reports, information on achieved projects and company targets, and risks management. Internal reporting provides critical feedback to employees that enables them to see how their individual contributions add to the success of the organization. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Harrison Bergeron is a short story written by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. It is about a dystopian future that is overly exaggerated as a future for it s ridiculous methods of equality, such as handicapping someone so they are like everyone else. In The Giver everyone is similar or transpires to be; competition isn t infatuated for, so no one strives for it. Adversity really isn t considered a pleasant quality; it more makes you an outcast than anything else; however, adversity influences the human essence of creativity, improvement, and competition, which all prosper enjoyment. • 9. The Importance Of Gratitude In The Workplace In organizations, much like in life, a person s perspective determines one s morale or attitude more than in any actual situation. Organizational culture and rules introduce a unique set of restraints and expectations that influence how employees feel, think, and act on a daily basis. Gratitude is a positive emotion that tends to be explicitly expressed, therefore, employees are particularly aware when it is happening, whether it is through words or actions (Fehr et al., 2017). Practice shows that increasing gratitudein a workplace leads to positive outcomes across multiple organizational levels, specifically benefiting the organization itself, its employees, and its customers. Therefore, it is in the company s best interest to employ gratitude at all levels in order to create a positive work environment. According to Merriam Webster dictionary, gratitude is the state of being grateful (Gratitude). However, this definition is too narrow to apply to organizational behavior studies. In fact, researchers have defined gratitude as a type of positive emotion that is typically experienced when an individual perceives another person s intentional generosity toward that individual (Chang, Y., Lin, Y., Chen, L., 2012). Hence, the meaning of gratitude from a social psychology point is more important in a study of organizational behavior, because the results can be quantified. By analyzing the results, predictions to future behavior of employees are developed. Consequently, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was the Canadians willingness to forgo nationalism in the interests of efficiency and effectiveness that marked a new (Dickson 40) transition of the ending of war. Through the second battle of Ypres, the Battle of Aras, and observing the previous bloodbath at the Battle of The Somme, the Canadian Expeditionary Force (C.E.F) perfected their defense tactics and techniques to fight in the evolutionary battle that made Canadaa nation. This was created through the Ypres Salient, which is where the British and allied line pushed into the German line in a concave bend. The Germans held the higher ground and were able to fire into the allied trenches from the north, the south and the east, but the Allies prearranged defense strategies: On the Canadian right was the British Expeditionary Force, and on their left was the 48th Algerian and 87th Territoral French, which were militia regiment enlisted into service a French division.3 On April 22 the Germans sought to remove the Salient by introducing a new weapon of modern warfare poison gas. • 13. Sociological Analysis Of The Titanic Essay Sociological analysis of the Titanic When researching movies for my paper, I decided that the Titanic was the perfect option. Being that the movie was based on the true event of the RMS Titanic sinking, I knew I could also find a lot of research during the time of the Titanic to help strengthen my paper. The movie Titanic took place in the early 1900 s, a time rich in sociological issues. Their way of life was a lot different than ours today. Some major sociological concepts that were shown several times in the movie were, social stratification, gender inequality and sexism, inequality of income, and discrimination. During this time period people faced huge gaps in wealth, gender, class, and race. Gaps between the rich and poor were extreme. The wealthy were rich and the poor were in poverty. The middle classwas not a common standing within society: you were either upper or lower class. It was very difficult to rise above the lower class standing, and easier to fall below the upper class line (Prezi web). Men dominated in almost all social standings; voting, ownership of land, professions, wealth, etc. Women were still viewed as property and in most ways, treated as such. The gap between the upper and lower class caused discrimination amongst them. Lower class was treated poorly by the upper class and seen as less worthy. In my paper I plan to include all of these sociological issues, and clearly connect them within the movie, Titanic. The movie Titanic was a drama, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Structural Functionalism, Conflict Theory, And Symbolic... This response addresses question four and define the provided theories, which include structural functionalism, conflict theory, and symbolic interactionism. In doing so, various components of the theories are identified in relation to the topic of social change. In doing so, it is important to point out that in sociology, theories are used to explain the patterns, the way groups of people decide to perform specific actions, and the way societies do certain things or rather experience a change in a different manner. On the other hand, social change implies the growth and development of a social order, which bears some significant consequences. To begin with, structural functionalism looks at the society as a bundle of a complex system with different parts that work to support the whole. It stipulates that a society is a combination of interrelated components, which work independently, but seek to achieve a common goal, which supports the growth of the whole system. Some of the systems in the society include the government, schools, businesses, and families. In essence, all these different components are fundamental in the society as they serve different functions to develop the society. On the other hand, social conflict theory looks at the society as a system with equal components, but within the endeavors to grow to find themselves in conflicting paths. Thinking about the society, some of the trends lead to conflict among the people living together. For example, ageism, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are two types of jailbreak you can perform on your iPhone, and they are a tethered jailbreak and an untethered jailbreak. 1) Tethered jailbreak: This method is not recommended, as it requires you to jailbreak your iPhone by connecting it to your computer every time you switch off your phone or if the battery dies. Usually, this method is only performed when a new software update for the iPhone is released and an untethered jailbreak method is unavailable. 2) Untethered jailbreak: This method involves connecting your iPhone to your computer once and jailbreaking it. After doing this, your phone remains jailbroken even after it switches off and you switch it back on again. Sexism is defined as attitudes or behavior based on traditional stereotypes of sexual roles; discrimination or devaluation based on a person s sex, as in restricted job opportunities; especially, such discrimination directed against women. In the real world, women have fought a long time for equal rights as men and are still fighting to overcome some disadvantages. Just like children, some adults also might not find anything wrong with the films and see it as harmless entertainment for their kids. Their apathy over the matter can be due to the fact that they genuinely don t care or just don t think about it. Although everyone should care to an extent, people who actually might care or think about this subject matter are usually feminists. But even feminists have different ideologies and takes on Disney and whether or not its movies are sexist or not. For many centuries, girls have been raised to live a traditional ... I lived in Mexico for six years in a small town called Chupicuaro. Sometimes I think back and ask myself how my life would have been if my parents had not decided to come to the U.S. Would I have been living in the streets? Would I have to start working at the age of eleven like many of my cousins did when they were that age? Would I have just received up to the middle school of education? All these thoughts are scary to even think about, and I cannot imagine how my family members manage to live through all that back in Mexico. Somehow they ve achieved it and can stay happy. Mill and Lord Devlin ever coexisted some intoxicating deliberations regarding the role of morality in society would transpire. However, time has a peculiar habit of erecting boundaries amid centuries, allowing us only to presume discourse between the contemporary and the historical. Consequentially, each individual has an obligation to formulate his or her own appraisal established through the logistic unification of the particular instant and one s own conception of idealistic righteousness. But the acquisition of an infallible and tangible philosophy with universal application would be as obstinate to create as it would to fathom. In such regard, the apparatus on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover Devlin asserts that moral legislation is crucial to maintain a social bond. He maintains that society has a right to protect its own existence by barring behavior that threatens that existence. This is distinctly divergent from Mill s perceptions on paternalism. Mill claimed that there must be unconditional rejection of paternalism by the state, only invalidated to prevent persons from selling themselves into slavery. Reinforcing his case Mill argued that paternalistic intervention is unlikely to work because an individual is acutely more aware of his or her own needs than the state is. Additionally, he argued that it is improbable compulsion would work. This can also be taken into account in the form of liberty. Mill alleges that an autonomous life has more value than a life of dependency, since one cannot be forced to be autonomous paternalism has a damaging effect on an individual. As a contemporarily relevant issue, Devlin indirectly delivers his rebuttal to paternalism by embodying a stance on homosexuality. He defends societies right to protect its own existence by vetoing behavior that threatens its sustainability, since homosexuality is detrimental to society that union has a right to prohibit it. This is consistent with Devlin s definition of tangible harm , described as a harm that instigates a diminution of the physical strength of society. Julian was born in 1342 in Norwich, England and spent most of her life as an anchorite, a recluse living alone in an closed room attached to the parish church of St Julian of LeMans at Conisford in Norwich. The Role of Inhibitory Modulation of Languages among Bilinguals In a rich linguistic environment, where more than 7000 languages are spoken in 149 countries, multilingualism and bilingualism are inevitable (Crystal, 2003; Grosjean, 2010). While the causes of increased bilingualism and multilingualism can vary, the repercussions of this demographic shift are wide reaching (O Brien, Curtin, Naqvi, 2014). Consequently, research on bilingualism and multilingualism has also dramatically increased in the last few years in quantity, quality and breadth (Bhatia William, 2013). In the past two decades, series of discoveries has changed the way bilingualism was understood (Kroll, Bobb, Hoshino, 2014). The consequences of bilingualism are not limited to native and second language but appear to reflect reorganization of brain networks that hold implications for the ways in which bilinguals negotiate cognitive competition more generally. The bilingual experience for every individual is unique as it depends upon the context, linguistic proficiency, and purpose. There is also a great variability in the amount and quality of exposure to the languages that the individual learns. Due to this capriciousness in bilingual characteristics, defining bilingualism becomes problematic and raises number of theoretical and methodological concerns (Hamers Blanc, 2000). The term bilingualism is generally defined as an individual s ability to use two languages (ASHA, 2004; European ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These euphemisms are used to protect their audience from the reality, and although they sometimes serve to censor people from the truth, they ineffectively protect children from explicit content in many forms of literature. Children are given false hope as to what life will be like in the future if they are to become homosexuals, and although it is certainly possible for a gay couple to live a simple life like Roy and Silo, the reality is that there will be many more struggles for them to be openly gay. Richardson and Parnell show Roy and Silo s struggles while they try to create a family as, Day after day Silo and Roy sat on the rock, (Richardson and Parnell, 17), hoping they would become like the other penguins in the zoo. However, this aspect of the story did not portray how difficult it can be in reality for a gay couple to form a family. The authors have created a perfect world for Roy and Silo, where the only difference between them and the other penguins is that they are unable to produce eggs themselves. Although this is a society that many dream of one that contains no discrimination against homosexuality many areas in the world have not yet reached this level of civility, which misleads children into thinking life as a homosexual will be as simple for them as it was for Roy and Silo. Video games and films in particular are subject to such scrutiny as the use of violence is common in these mediums. The point of art such as these is to express ideas, provide entertainment, and persuade the audience to think. Therefore, it is absurd to think that video gamesand movies could invoke violent feelings onto someone. There is no concrete evidence that supports the claim that society is negatively affected by violencein video games and movies. The evidence that those of the opposite opinion consistently cite are weak examples that can simply be attributed to other things than entertainment. For instance, the Columbine shooters played video games frequently and this is used as one piece of qualitative data that many opposition members cite. However, this cannot be used when describing the greater populace; the Virginia Tech shooter never played video games and was seen as strange for not doing so by his peers. Another typical point that the U.S. has the highest homicide rate in the world and Americans have significant video gameuse. However, the Japanese are extremely avid gamers, more so than Americans, and have an annual homicide rate close to zero. There is, however, no doubt that many forms of media, written or visual are bloody. As Dr. Eugene Beresin says in a research article, Consider one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. The Explosion Of Rock N Roll Era The explosion of Rock n Roll in the mid 1950 s helped bring to the forefront of American society the idea that social, cultural, and musical change was deeply needed. By 1959, the initial success and jolt of the Rock n Roll era, that took the American youth by storm three years earlier, had officially fallen apart at the seams. The late 1950 s and early 1960 s marked a period of decline for the Rock and Roll genre. The parting of Elvis Presley for the military in 1958, the death of Buddy Holly and two other members of The Crickets in 1959, and the departure of the other members of Rock and Roll s Big Five throughout much of the late 1950 s had devastated America s hope for social and musical change (Ashton Lecture). With this breakdown of Rock n Roll, came an era that was once again dominated and mesmerized by the Jazz, Pop and Country Western genres. The Rock and Roll flame that captivated so many American citizens throughout much of the 1950 s was slowly beginning to dwindle back into the darkness. As all hope seemed to be lost, a new dawn for Rock and Roll was gradually appearing. In 1963 1964 with the introduction of a small British band from Liverpool, England, the dawn that everyone was waiting for had finally arrived and with it would change Rock n Roll history forever. The Beatles, for many people, was one of the greatest Rock n Roll bands to ever live. Throughout their illustrious career, The Beatles were able not only to revolutionize and influence the ... The whole aspect of it really seems fun when you expect everything to go your way. Unless, of course, you re me, Camryn Matthews. On that bright Saturday afternoon, everything was going great. Work was going smoothly and my friends were coming over that night. Everything was going just as I planned. I was basically the type of girl to want everything to go my way, but not in the super obnoxiously bratty way; in the stubborn way. Going out with my girls was going to be a huge hit. Despite the fact that there is nothing to actually do in our town in Florida, we are determined to make it one. As time rolled by, I was finally out the door; walking unsteady while still trying to accomplish putting my heels on correctly. This was about to be the best time of my life, or so I thought. Around 1 AM, my life changed in ways no one could imagine. Being rolled down the hospital hallway, I had no clue what was going on. Shaking and trembling, I was covered in blood. This text, not just a product of the intellectual musings of an armchair philosopher, was born out of a culmination of extraneous events and systems that were prevalent at the time of its conception. (4) Secondly, the balance of trade, as observed by him, often did little to enhance the wealth of a nation and instead served to create violent national animosity instead. He instead put forth the idea of a balance of annual production and consumption, which if it were unfavourable would have caused a decay of the wealth of a nation. The world has many religions that people believe in although all religions believe in one Supreme Being who created the universe. However, the means through which the people believe in the Supreme Being comes in different ways depending on the religion and its beliefs. In the different religions, many practices resemble but have different names attached to them based on the people, their location, and their religious teachings they follow. Such practices include the Lord s Supper as referred by most Protestant churches while the Catholics refer the same as the Eucharist. Happenings during that time become important to every person who believes in the Supreme Being through His Son JesusChrist. The events surround the time when Jesus sat with his disciples and had the last meal with them in His human body hence signifying an important event in the life if every believer. • 50. The O 1 Bird Dog Essay The O 1 Bird Dog The First World War clearly demonstrated that airplanes had a promising career in warfare. With rapid development creating larger, faster and more capable aircraft the task of putting their munitions on target became increasingly complex and called for a new type of control. In March of 1942 FM 31 35 defined the role of the Air Ground Cooperation Parties (AGCP) (Farmer Strumwasser, 1967). The role of the AGCP was to coordinate airborne fires in support of ground units and the AGCP cell was assumed to be located with the headquarters element, usually detached from the front line (Farmer Strumwasser, 1967). Through continued evolution of the AGCP concept the observer was moved further from the headquarters and placed on or near the front lines to provide immediate tactical control of airborne fires platforms. The AGCP concept proved to be so effective that it continued development through the Second World War and into the Korean War. With the predominance of close air support aircraft located far away at Itazuki Air Base in Japan during the Korean War a ground based controller was ineffective at identifying targets for the pilots to engage before they needed to return for fuel (Farmer Strumwasser, 1967). This led to the airborne Forward Air Controller (FAC). Flying a small maneuverable craft at low levels airborne FAC s could easily pick out targets unseen from ground level and quickly vector or lead attack planes to them for engagement. The ... • 53. Analysis Of Blowin In The Wind Dylan s early music, written as part of this folk revival, reflects this individualist style of political folk songs, but the degree and subject of political conviction seems to be less important to him than the expression of emotion, and a certain identification of himself as being political. This is readily apparent in his work from the 1963 album The Freewheelin Bob Dylan. Two of his great early political forays, Blowin in the Wind and Masters of War , play in quite nicely with the notion that this generation of folk artists were more abstract, asking less rational, or rhetorical, questions, and expressing an anger with the world, but not offering much in the way of action. The second verse of Blowin in the Wind expresses an anger with society s willingness to sit idly by in the face of injustices, but due to its vague language, this anger is not directed at any particular instance of injustice: How many years can some people exist/Before they re allowed to be free/Yes, n how many times can a man turn his head/And pretend that he just doesn t see /The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind/The answer is blowin in the wind. Moreover, the refrain is also incredibly ambiguous, and like much of the ephemeral political music of the time, doesn t offer a concrete solution to the problem. Masters of War offers a scathing indictment of the arms build up of the Cold War. Much of the song calls for the death of the war profiteers, and offers a grim image in ...
