Both inner and outer peace are important to achieve personal and societal transformation through establishing quality relationships at all levels committed to peace, human rights, democracy, and social justice within an environmentally sustainable system. Positive peace involves restoring relationships and creating just social systems for all, while negative peace simply refers to the absence of direct violence.
