Grammar is the structural foundation of our ability to express ourselves. The more we are aware of how it works, the more we can monitor the meaning and effectiveness of the way we and others use language. It can help foster precision, detect ambiguity, and exploit the richness of expression available in English. And it can help everyone--not only teachers of English, butteachers of anything, for all teaching is ultimately a matter of getting to grips with meaning.
Grammar is important because it is the language that makes it possible for us to talk about language. Grammar names the types of words and word groups that make up sentences not only in English but in any language. As human beings, we can put sentences together even as children--we can all do grammar. But to be able to talk about how sentences are built, about the types of words and word groups that make up sentences--that isknowing aboutgrammar. And knowing about grammar offers a window into the human mind and into our amazingly complex mental capacity

What is a Noun (Kinds, categories & case of coun).pdfCambrige Academy
In Today’s article we study about what is noun, kinds of noun, categories of noun & case of noun. When we speak or write, we use words to express what we are thinking or feeling. In the sentence all can’t be noun. These many words which belong to the English language are classified into eight groups known as parts of speech. There are many other words and vocabularies in any language but all of them do not perform the same job.
For example,
some words express “action”.
Other words express a “thing”.
Other words “join” one word to another word. These are the “base builder” of the language. Just imagine them like the element of a house. When we want to build a house,
we use concrete to make the foundations or base.
We use bricks to make the walls.
or use window frames to make the windows, and door frames to make the doorways.
And we use cement to join them all together. Each part of the house has its own job. When we want to build a sentence, we use the different types of word. Each type of word has its own job.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

2. Parts of Speech is know as Elements of Grammar.
a category to which a word is assigned in accordance with its syntactic functions. In
English the main parts of speech are noun, pronoun, adjective, determiner, verb, adverb
preposition, conjunction, and interjection.
Meaning of Parts of Speech ?
3. What are Closed and Open Classes
Words come in two verities functional words, and lexical words. The difference
is with their meaning (purely grammatical vs. Lexical and Referential) and with what
you can do out of them. you can invent a new lexical word, but then you have no
power on functional words. Functional words generally evolve from lexical words
through a process called Grammaticalization.
1. Open Class Item or Lexical Word ( Content Based Words )
2. Close Class Item ( Function Based words )
4. TABLE OF PARTS OF SPEECH
GROUPS OF PARTS OF SPEECH OR WORD CLASSES
4 OPEN SYSTEM CLASSES 8 CLOSED SYSTEM CLASSES

Verbs Demonstratives
Adjectives Prepositions

Determiners
5. What we mean by Open Class ?
A word that conveys information in a text or speech act is also known as a lexical word.
Content words includes Noun, Lexical verbs, Adjectives and Adverb belong to open
classes of words that is new members are readily added.
Open category contains those parts of speech which remain open to new additions and
which in any language tend to be quite large and open ended. It means an unlimited
number of new words can be created and added to these classes.
The words in the open category are usually further divided into simple and complex
words. Simple words contain just one morpheme (house, walk, slow, green)
6. What we mean by Close Class ?
Closed Class words or Function words are limited in numbers and act as markers or gui
des to the structure of a sentence. Function words in English include conjunctions, artic
les, demonstratives, pronouns, model verbs, determiners, prepositions. It is an importan
t feature of the word and it functions grammatically to adjoin words and phrases as see
n in the combination of noun phrases the woman and the man. The role of articles is to
single nouns. Preposition mark special relationship between persons, objects, and locati
on. Conjunctions are connectors that link actors or object and identify relationship bet
ween clauses in the sentence. Open and closed class words occupy certain slots in sente
nces and set up a frame for interpreting the interrelationship between actors, actions, an
d objects. Closed classes are not added to the language very often. They are tend to evo
lve gradually from lexical in a process called grammaticalization.
