Cause And Effect Of Stress On College Students
According to a study by the Associated Press and mtvU, eight in 10 college students say they have
sometimes or frequently experienced stress in their daily lives over the past three months, ( Stress in
College Students ). College Students are inevitably going to be affected by stress at some point
throughout their college experience; however, the cause of the stress can vary by student. Some of the
causes of stress on college students can be tests, homework, home life, social life, and jobs. Many
times, college students have all or most of these causes piled on top of one another; therefore, giving
them extremely high levels of stress. There are many negative effects of stress on college students. To
begin, one effect of stress on college students is physical health problems. Some of these problems can
include internal stomach problems, weight gain, and even weight loss. When people are stressed, they
tend to focus on the stressor rather than their own health. For example, college students can
experience internal stomach problems because of the amount of stress they are under. According to
Doctor Michael Craig Miller from Harvard Medical School, functional gastrointestinal disorders have
many different causes but stress in particular can cause these problems to arise (Miller). This goes to
show that stress can largely affect college students physical health. Aside from stomach issues, many
college students experience weight gain or weight loss. The Freshman 15 is a

Humanitarian Intervention Essay
The key objections to humanitarian intervention include the conflict of interests with the self
interested state and sovereignty, the difficulty of internal legitimacy, the problematical Responsibility
to Protect (R2P) doctrine, and the debate over legality of intervention. The issue of morality stands as
an overarching issue which touches on all of these. Overall, one finds that despite a moral imperative
to intervene, humanitarian intervention should not occur but is perhaps the lesser of a series of evils.
In realist theory, states are self interested in that their own relative gains are favoured over absolute
gains (i.e. gains for the entire society of states). This raises questions of motive and the potential for
abuse in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it can be argued that the motives behind intervention are not as important as the
interventions themselves the moral function of humanitarian intervention is to save lives and this can
be achieved with or without altruistic motives. To this a possible reply is that seemingly unjust
intervention may aggravate the receiving state, more so perhaps in military interventions than
economic, political or social. A threatened state is arguably more likely to initiate a backlash.
However, such an argument cannot be made against a UN sanctioned intervention, where it can be
agreed that the intervention is legitimate and in the interests of the global community. The issue of
marginalising state sovereignty completely ignores the fact that sovereignty is granted by the
international community , . The arguments that states such as China may put forward, that state
sovereignty is absolute and deserving of unadulterated respect, rests on the idea that states grant
themselves sovereignty, which upon reflection, one finds to be untrue. State sovereignty can only be
realised if it is acknowledged by the global society of states. To this a realist might argue that
theoretical sovereignty is separate from actual sovereignty, and that states will defend their
sovereignty regardless of its

A Night At The Perk
A night at The Perk
Ethnography or field research is a sociological method that explores how people live and make sense
of their lives with one another in particular places. The focus might be on understanding the human
race and the meaning they produce through everyday interactions, or places, and the organizational
logics that guide our activities (columbia.edu, 2017). A discourse community comprises of a group of
people, especially within a sphere of intellectual or social activity, who share common goals, who
support and understand each other using their own specific language or manner of interaction whether
verbal or non verbal (Oxforddictionaries.com, 2017). The discourse community I researched on is The

These businesses that are run by students are very vital to the student body that is interested in
business and entrepreneurship. They should be introduced in every campus that hosts business studies.
Business students read about ventures, organizations and management in textbooks, but it s a
completely different experience while making decisions about an actual business. The thrill of making
decisions, feeling the consequences of every decision made is something that cannot be taught. It must
be experienced. This method of learning would revolutionize how business and management is taught
in universities, creating social change and bettering society (Mars, Matthew M. and Gary Rhoades,

The members of my field research discourse community The Perk would be any student that works for
this business or any person who visits and purchases food from this café. Although The Perk is open to
everybody, the late night hours and the location allow only students who dorm on campus to be able to
visit the café. Circumstances have made this café exclusively for resident students. The main goals of

Essay On George Mcclellan s Assassination
The bloodiest war in U.S. history was fought from 1861 to 1865. Of the current thirty four states,
seven southern slave states seceded from the United States and together they formed the Confederacy
(Confederate States of America.) The war was an inevitable side effect of different political standings
and opinions, about the morals and duties of man in everyday life, between the North and South.
When the war started, the North learned an important ideology about what would be necessary for the
fighting to end. They realized that they had to win, and end the Confederacy, in order for the Union to
be whole again with Northern ideals. While on the other hand, the Confederacy only had to prove
themselves to the Yankees, in other words, they only had to hold the fight until the ... Show more

Even though this was true, Lincoln still put McClellan in charge of his army on the Eastern Theater.
McClellan was well respected and admired for many reasons, he was very visible to his men, also he
made them feel like they were soldier rather than a mob of beaten men. McClellan s men would take a
bullet for him any day of the week and twice on Sundays, but with knowing this he gets scared. He is
reluctant to engage the enemy in battle and won t commit his men to the fight. This is shown in
Antietam when McClellan could have ended the war but is not obedient and does not attack when he
had the chance. Unlike Lee, he did not have any kind of military experience outside of his time in
battle. Robert E. Lee, the General for the Confederacy, graduated from West Point in 1829, top of his

The White City By Claude Mckay Analysis
The White City by Claude McKay illustrates McKay s complicated love hate relationship with the city
where he lives and the world around him. Born to peasant farmers in a small mainly Black village in
Jamaica, McKay learned pride in his African lineage. His first encounter with bigotry and prejudice
against people of color, especially those of African descent, occurred as a teenager in Jamaica s capital
of Kingston. Here he saw discrimination and injustices levied on people of color especially Blacks.
Throughout his life and future travels, he continued to see and despise racism, and he fought against it
using his talent of poetry and the pen. His travels eventually brought him to the United States and, in
particular, to Harlem in New York during an era known as the Harlem Renaissance. The White City
reflects McKay s internal struggle of both disgust and admiration for his hometown of Harlem as it
portrays his resentment towards the white man s world and his love for the life giving essence Harlem
provides to him and other people of color.
Born Festus Claudius McKay in 1889 in the village of Sunny Ville Jamaica, McKay s parents taught
him respect and dignity for his African roots and heritage (Drayton). At seventeen he ventured outside
his village for the first time to his nation s capital of Kingston. In Kingston, he witnessed
discrimination, intolerance, and sometimes even hatred towards people of color and especially those
of African descent. One year later

Training In Arthurian Literature Essay
Arthurian authors do not often address training in Arthurian Literature. This may be to keep some
sense of mystery or even because it does not make for a very interesting story. However, this was a
very important part of the lives of nobles in the middle ages. Children would often leave home as early
as age seven to train in the ways of warfare and chivalry. This shows that training was very important
in shaping the young men who would someday become honorable knights. Though nobility and
knighthood are widely seen as a matter of nature, this training shows that there is a great deal of
nurture necessary to create the best knights possible. In medieval times, warfare was not merely an
occupation or duty; it was a way of life. Men drew their personal worth and civil ... Show more

The nobility often employed training in the form of tournaments in times of peace to ensure that
knights were ready for battle. In many Arthurian texts, we see tournaments as a way to get recognition
and show off one s prowess in combat. Yvain even lost his love and mind because of his love for
tournaments and need for recognition. This exemplifies pride as negative in Arthurian literature but we
see that pride is central to the life of knights throughout the middle ages. Without pride, a knight might
not do all that he could to develop his skill in combat and work to keep his talents sharp. This paper
will examine the importance of training not only in childhood but also throughout the life of a
medieval knight to ensure his survival in battle, his livelihood, and his honor. It will also compare and
contrast this with some elements in Arthurian Literature regarding tournaments and chivalric code.
Though young nobles left home to train at a young age, their training never ceased even after they
earned the title of knight; their deeds in tournaments and warfare trained them further throughout their

How Does Edgar Allan Poe Use Imagery In The Luncheons
How does he use descriptive imagery to establish the setting . This is a story by edgar allan poe that
was published in november of 1846 in a womans magazine. During the story he uses many types of
imagery. He seems to try to use many of these to establish a well made story. This story is so well
established to be creepy and disturbing that in many parts of the story he lets the reader think for
themselves so many people have different opinions on the story. He is well descriptive but rellys so
much on imagery in this story than some of the others. ¨The vaults are insufferably damp. They are
encrusted with niter.¨ In this part of the story he is trying to show the reader how damp the vaults are
because of the niter. He does a really good job of showing us how it feels down there like in this
sentence ¨We passed through long walls of piled skeletons , with casks and puncheons intermingling,
into the inmost recesses of the catacombs.¨ This is very descriptive and makes you imagine how it

Unsheathing my rapier, I began to grope with it about the recess; but the thought of an instant
reassured me.¨ He is still having fun in this part of the story showing yet again how truly scary of a
person he is. This shows that he is one person you don t want to mess with he seems to try to threaten
to stab him but then continues to fill in the grave which will kill him anyways but take

Faith In A Good Man Is Hard To Find
In the final moments of life, it is not unheard of for a man to fight, pray, or even beg for his life; it is
practically human nature. This familiar human facet is outlined in one of Flannery O Connor s most
popular short stories, A Good Man Is Hard to Find. To be specific, O Connor s characterization of the
grandmother in the story details a woman selfishly desperate to save her own life, a beggar built on
words, hoping for some kind of pity; at the same time, The Misfit is characterized as an emotionless
sociopath, who has no time for the grandmother s pleading. In many ways, the entire family illustrates
their lack of concern for fellow man (Dibble 7). In the closing events of the short story, we are shown
the depths of the grandmother s faith and The Misfit s rejection of ... Show more content on

One of the most pivotal moments of all, however, is the old lady s epiphany, revealing the profound
message of all. Altogether, A Good Man Is Hard to Find is a product of interwoven themes of faith
presented through the characterization of two opposing characters. Throughout the story, the
grandmother continually calls The Misfit a good man, and while this is most likely just another
attempt to manipulate him into not murdering her, it is still something to be considered. Therefore, the
question that begs to be answered is: Is The Misfit a good man? On the surface, most would scoff at
this question: Of course The Misfit is not a good man; he is a murderer, after all! In fact, McDermott
says that, critics find no plausible argument for such an unwavering proclamation [that The Misfit is a
good man]. However, in the paradoxical situation that is A Good Man Is Hard to Find, The Misfit may
be the best man out of any of the characters. As said by Dibble, O Connor s treatment of the characters
in this story reinforces her views of man as a fallen creature

Research Paper On Cooperative Learning
Cooperative learning is an educational approach which aims to organize classroom activities into
academic and social learning experiences. There is much more to Cooperative Learning than merely
arranging students into groups, and it has been described as structuring positive interdependence
(Prasetyo,2012). Cooperative learning is a technique that allows students to learn from each other and
gain important interpersonal skills. Learn more about the benefits, strategies, and techniques involved
in cooperative learning ( Olsen, 2003). It is an organized and structured way to use small groups to
enhance student learning and interdependence. Students are given a task, better known as an
assignment, and they work together to accomplish this tasks. The success is dependent on the work of
everyone in the group.

Unlike individual learning, which can be competitive in nature, students learning cooperatively can
capitalize on one another s resources and skills (asking one another for information, evaluating one
another s ideas, monitoring one another s work, etc.) ( Chiu, 2008). Furthermore, the teacher s role
changes from giving information to facilitating students learning (Syahrir, 2011). Everyone succeeds
when the group succeeds. Ross and Smyth (1995) described successful cooperative learning tasks as
intellectually demanding, creative, open ended, and involve higher order thinking tasks. Five essential
elements are identified for the successful incorporation of cooperative learning in the classroom.
Basic elements of cooperative learning:
Johnson (2009) posited five variables that mediate the effectiveness of cooperation. Brown and
Ciuffetelli (2009) and Siltala (2010) discuss the 5 basic and essential elements to cooperative learning:

Abstract
This paper explores a nursing student s first hand experience interacting with substance dependent
addicts from a volunteer s perspective. The student completed a total of 15 hours of community
service all around the Orange County area in order to have a better insight on what these type of
people, who one day may be their patient, have to live and go through. The main goal of this
assignment is focused on the student s understanding of the mentally ill individual in hopes of
preparing them to become the best caregiver they can be.
Before entering this term, I honestly did not know what to expect. I tackled my community service
hours with an open mind and I finished able to identify nursing roles, responsibilities and activities in
the community setting. To begin with, I attended my first Narcotics Anonymous meeting with a
classmate. Is drug addiction a mental illness you may ask? According to the National Institute on Drug
Abuse, the answer is yes. This is because addiction changes the brain in fundamental ways, disturbing
a person s normal hierarchy of needs and desires and substituting new priorities connected with
obtaining and using the drug (Drug Abuse, 2010). As a matter of fact, the DSM includes criteria for
drug use disorders, which has two types. These include drug abuse and drug dependence.

My Writing Techniques
During this semester in Writing Workshop, I learned many writing techniques that helped improve my
writing. I learned how to research topics effectively and use scholarly sources instead of popular
sources. I learned how to conduct an interview and developed problem solving skills. All of these
techniques helped me develop my final solution to the issue I chose to research. In high school, when
my teacher told me to research a topic and write an essay on it, I would go to Google and type in the
topic. Once Google provided me with millions of hits, I usually chose the first one and used it. Also, I
would use Wikipedia. Wikipedia contains information about topics, but people can edit those pages
and put false information. At the beginning of my second semester, I started to learn about scholarly
sources. Scholarly sources usually come from an expert or doctor. These experts and doctors take the
time to research the topic and provide it to the public. Using scholarly sources helps improve your
argument or viewpoint. Sources such as CNN, CBS, and NBC are popular sources and do not ... Show

We assume stuff every day. When we assume things, we usually do not realize that we just assumed
something. For example, every morning when somebody gets up and go outside to start their car, they

solving a problem we assume things and to make our solution strong we need to get rid of those
assumptions. During this second semester, I learned about many techniques that enhanced my writing.
I cannot believe that my first year of college is over because it seems like yesterday I attended my first
class. I will use this techniques throughout the rest of my life to make my paper stronger and more
professional. As I continue to learn I will add techniques I learn in the future to make my writing even
stronger. I believe my writing is strong, but can

Discourse Analysis Of Van Debama
This paper is an attempt to do a critical discourse analysis of Obama`s speech On Countering Violent
Religious Extremism delivered on 18 February 2015 at the White House. The analysis draws on
critical discourse theories of Van Dijk and Fairclough to analyze the speech. Obama`s choice of lexico

power, ideology , context and mind control manifest in the speech. The analysis shows how the social

events portrayed the real effects. Based upon research, the facts about the real account portray the
movie s best effort to create the authenticity of the actual event. The movie captivates viewers with the
master plan, to raid and kill the Al Qaeda leader known as Osama bin Laden.
It all starts out with a young lady named Maya, who works for the United States Central Intelligence

Al Qaeda leader, who was responsible for all the 9/11 attacks. He won t tell her anything and keeps

Similarities And Differences Between Antonia And The Great...
Both books were about love in some way. They both focus on a character who cares very deeply for a
significant woman. Gatsby was obsessed over Daisy. Jim loved Antonia. The woman they loved had
difficult lives, due to the fact that women s lives were set up to be made hard. They had to marry a
man of decent wealth, or do slave work. These were most women s only choices. There were no jobs
other than slave work for a woman, with only a few exceptions. Antonia was stuck doing slave work
for years, while Daisy was with a horrible rich man for support.
With both books one main choice a woman had to make was whether they would depend on a man.
Daisy made the choice yes, while Antonia at first was against this. In this world they lived in, the
easiest life decision they could make would usually be to find a nice man they could fall in love with,
marry, and depend on financially. This world was a man s world when it came to work, so almost
every woman would want a man. If this is the life they choose to lead, then they need to maintain the
perfect image that men look for. They need to live with a respectable family if doing slave work, not
have any children already, not have had sex with anyone and have the information known publicly,
and so on. Men, especially men of wealth, won t be attracted to a woman who contradicts any of these.
Therefore, Antonia had a hard time. She was offered a job with a man who is known to sleep with his
workers, or worse, but pays far more than the opposing jobs she could get. She would be putting her
reputation down the drain if she accepted, but at this point in time she wasn t looking to depend on
anyone. Daisy fell in love with a man of much wealth, who has regular affairs. She shows her love for
him a handful of times throughout The Great Gatsby, so she wasn t involved for just the money. The
money is most likely why she fell for him in the first place, and part of the reason she stays, but over
time she developed a love for him. Tom is a horrible husband to Daisy, but without him she would
have next to no income, with no job opportunities that would help her match her life style. This is why
life can be so difficult for women at this time. They can t get good jobs, and in many

Descriptive Essay On A Storm
The fishy smell in the air told me that there is a large storm coming. Suddenly, the rain gets harder and
it starts to hail. Clunk, clunk, clunk. The over sized hail pelts the roofs of cars and the street. The wind

outside. As I watched, a tornado starts to form. It grows bigger and bigger. Swallowing the houses and
trees nearby, a tornado causes destruction. I rushed to the nearest house. I tried to run, but the storm
starts to clog my lungs. But when I heard the loud whooshing sound of the tornado, my hopes went

How did I end up in this mess? It was just a sunny day. The news didn t even say it was going to rain.

harder and harder, until I couldn t even see. I wasn t wearing a coat, so the cold rain burned my skin. I
heard the wind howling, the loud thunder. There were few houses and shelters close to me. I felt like a

The Lab Must Stay Clean And Sterile
Laboratories across the United States have many different ways of operating in order to collect
sufficient and precise data and make adequate conclusions. In order for a laboratory to run smoothly
and collect good data, the lab must stay clean and sterile. Through Dr. Williams section of LB 133,
Introduction to History, Philosophy and Sociology of Science, I had the opportunity to complete a two
hour non participant, unstructured, naturalistic observation at the MSU DOE Plant Research
Laboratory. After extensive research of multiple laboratories hosting studies on Michigan State
University campus, the laboratory I chose was Dr. Christoph Benning s plant lipid research laboratory
study. Benning s lab had a strong tie to the STS concept of good data.
Shortly after emailing him about observing the lab, he connected me with a graduate student name
Anastasiya. With her help, I was able to take a tour of the plant laboratory; and observe her conduct
parts of the laboratory work, as well as collect data. When I observed this lab, I did not participate at
all and did not affect the results in any way. In order to gain information, I used techniques such as
note taking, asking extensive questions, and drawing a sketch of the lab. In order to understand the
steps that were taking place, quickly I realized, that extensive note taking on everything that I could
see, smell, hear, and touch, was an adequate way to gain knowledge about the laboratory. I watched

The Cardiovascular System From The National Nutrition Of...
This paper will examine the possible consequences on the cardiovascular system from the national
nutrition of Kazakhstan. I choose this topic for research since I have the personal interest in the food I
eat and I am contemplating the disciplines in medicine, particularly cardiology or cardio surgery. So,
choosing this topic might enhance my knowledge in these areas that can help me to stand out from
other candidates. Moreover, during my work experience in a cardiology center, I had many questions
but they still have not answered yet, hence doing this project I am planning to find the answers for
them. My first and the main question was the reason the Kazakh nation has tremendous problems with
the heart health. Another one was why most of the patients lying in the clinic are males who are in age
and overweight. These questions seem to be obvious but it was before I went to do A level and I can
say that I knew nothing about the heart. Although, now I have broad knowledge about this topic I want
to extend them and imply it to my culture and traditions. Therefore, I proposed a hypothesis Kazakh
national food has a deleterious effect on the cardiovascular system and it is the major cause of death
from the cardiovascular diseases . So, the purpose of this research is to confirm or refute this
hypothesis and try to identify to what extent traditional meals influence the development of
cardiovascular diseases.
The heart and circulatory system make up the cardiovascular system.

Taji Quan Research Paper
There are various differences between taiji quan (tai chi chuan) and Japanese kendo. Taji quan is an
internal system of martial arts. It was created Chang San Feng who was a Daoist martial art expert and
acupuncturist (PowerPoint). Taji quan is a Chinese system and it s for maintaining good health. Since,
Zhang San Feng was an acupuncturist, he discovered if he would prick certain vital points in the body
he could cause death or worsen a disease (PowerPoint). His purpose was to create a system that would
be used for self defense, considering that he would have to strike certain vital points in the body to
cause somebody harm. This martial arts system uses softness an internal power to defeat a greater
force. Tai chi chuan is mostly used for exercise and to meditate because there s the concept of chi that

One of the similarities is that they both useful in defending oneself from an opponent. For example, in
tai chi chuan the exercise push hands is used to go with the flow and follow the opponent s moments.
While, in kendo, they have a similar concept of push hands, but they use their bamboo sticks. They try
to use them so they do not get hit with them and it s used to protect oneself. They also go with the
flow, because they have to be careful they do not get disqualified. Another similarity is that both tai
chi chuan and kendo use weapons. Tai chi chuan uses a spear (Tai chi basics), which is about 7 feet
long. It be used to fight and block. Tai chi chuan also uses the long pole, which is very similar to
kendo, because in kendo they also use a long pole. In kendo, they normally use a bamboo stick and it s

Looking for a Job and Stories from Korcula Island
It is 2010/2011 the summer is on the front door and I m start to think about the job that I could work
this summer. I was start searching on a few places and talk with some people for some free place to
work and at that moment it seems that I will have a job, but I was not feel some kind optimistic about
them. Day by day I feel relaxed with the fact that I have some free time to enjoy before I start with the
job and that was a pretty good for me. As the time was passing, of course no one of them still didn t
call me as I expect, so it was obvious that I will need some alternative to earn some money, somehow.
I start to search again but now it was to late, because everybody now have people to work for them. In
one moment I feel like Im without options but I new that at least I can count to work with my parents
with apartments, and to be honest that is not such bad. Everyday meeting new people from all around
the world, you can learn something about some other culture, mentality, and similar. On the Korcula
island summer is the best part of the year, there is a lot of people everywhere, a lot of event is going
on and it is really great compared to winter. The best day of the year is the 30. Of June, it is
celebrating the half of new year and it is at least three times better then anything else including the
new year itself. We were already prepared for that day, after all we new that it will come sooner or
later so what we could do else then to just use it to relax and enjoy

Ebola In Monrovia
The Ebola outbreak in West Africa appears to be gradually slowing down in Liberia, and the spread of
preventative education in that region has been instrumental in the positive change. Some of this
education has come in the form of government commissioned music about the disease, but
unfortunately, those efforts were seeing the wrong kind of impact for some time. Now, Liberian DJs
and musicians have been raising awareness by taking a different approach.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, radio stations in Liberia have been unloading countless public
awareness songs about the disease. Prompted by the government and aid agencies, the underlying
themes tended to paint a dark reality, in which there was no cure and no one should ever have physical

Some locals feel it even caused the passing of Ebola to increase in the region. It used to be a death
sentence to people, so it scared people away, said Elliott The Milkman Adekoya, a 31 year old
musician and disc jockey for Sky FM, one of Monrovia s most popular stations. That s how people
started running away, from one community to another. And people saw it worse, like a curse.
Adekoya explained that people eventually started seeing that it was possible to survive the disease.
This made the downcast music even more damaging to the cause. This disparity inspired local
musicians to take a more positive approach.
The Ebola scenario is something that people don t want to listen to anymore, because they re so fed
up, so sick of it, he said. If you re making a song an Ebola song that people gonna listen to now it has
to be danceable.
Now, one of the most popular songs in Liberia is a refreshingly uplifting hit by F.A. and Soul Fresh,
called Ebola is Real. The song educates listeners on how to protect themselves from infection, while
enforcing a courageous message in the chorus. Adekoya says the lyrics The thing, Ebola, now come /

Essay on The Newest Type of Transportation
The Newest Type of Transportation
Transportation, by definition, is the act of moving something or someone from one place to another.
There are many different types of transportation vehicles such as bicycles, boats, human feet (for
walking/running), and many more. Although when truly asked about transportation what comes to
mind? Yes, the automobile. The automobile, and transportation contains many issues to go along with
it. There are five main issues which consist of; social, physical, economic, energy demand, and
environmental. The first of the issues is the social transportation issue. The automobile has become
such a big part of people s life today it has actually changed the way people live. ... Show more

The fourth transportation issue is the energy demand issue. Our transportation is highly dependent on
the use of petroleum fuels. While the fuels are highly energy dense, and easy to transport, they are also
only limited in supply and we are rapidly using that up.
The last issue that comes from transportation and one of the biggest is the environmental impact. Due
to the use of petroleum gas which the combustion of it releases a numerous amount of pollutants into
the air. Automobiles contribute to the great amounts of carbon monoxide and more unhealthy
pollutants in the air. One of the greatest concerns is with the emission of the green house gas carbon
dioxide. In addition the large amounts of storm water that damage our streams, lakes, and rivers are
due to the transportation infrastructure. Also the dark paved roads, highways, etc. cause the head
island effect which is that the dark pavement attracts heat and causes the area to actually warm up and
those urban areas it causes people to use air conditioning more than they would ve so the electricity
consumption increases.[2] This transportation issue of the environment can be fixed through a new
century of car, an environmentally friendly car, a hybrid car.
Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV s) are vehicles that combine two or more power systems.

The O.J Simpson Trial
The American public has always been fascinated by tragedy. Why? It s in our human nature, as we
tend to gravitate towards looking upon other people s mistakes or failures as if it were as precious and
watchable as someone s victories. Add in an event so tragic being televised, and you have yourself a
hit with everyday U.S citizens. The O.J Simpson Trial was a turning point in not only the American
judicial system, but it completely changed the thoughts that there was no more racial division in our
country. People suddenly viewed our court system as a broken, failed section of our government due
to the outcome of the trial. Orenthal James O.J. Simpson was born on July 9th, 1947 in San Francisco,

Both sides gave thorough arguments, Simpson s team stating there was no way he could have
committed the crime with his arthritis and old football injuries ( The Trial ). Some of the evidence
brought to the case was a black, bloodied glove found at the scene, which had obviously been used by
the murderer. The match to the glove was indeed found outside of Simpson s residence at the time, but
there was controversy of whether or not it had indeed been used by Simpson or the LAPD had planted
it there to frame him just because he was a black man. The glove was on of the key points in the trial,
one of the prosecutors asked Simpson to try on the glove in front of the jury, but Simpson had a hard

it doesn t fit, you must acquit. Later, although it turned out there may have been reasons why indeed
the glove didn t fit, because it may have shrunk from the blood it had been soaked in. Over 99 days of
the trial, the prosecution alone put 72 witnesses on the stand, including Brown s family all stating
Simpson had a motive to kill her. Another source of evidence brought forward was a match of a blood

The Rhetorical Analysis Of We Shall Overcome The speech We Shall Overcome delivered by Lyndon
Baines Johnson on 15 March 1965, Washington, D.C. The theme of the speech is to call on that every
American citizen must have an equal right to vote. He wanted to pass a bill to end the situation that
many states had been used to deny Negroes the right to vote. The purpose of which is to persuade
Members of Congress to pass the bill which came up by himself. At that time, although the slavery
system had been destroyed, Negroes also did not own equal right as well as white people. The author

Human being are not cold blooded animal and nobody is definitely indifferent. Therefore, authors
always write down words to arouse readers enthusiasm or fervor gradually. Pathos work as the same
way, which let readers get moved by emotion weapon. We can find many pathos devices in this well
known speech. The real hero of this struggle is the American Negro. His actions and protests, his
courage to risk safety and even to risk his life, have awakened the conscience of this nation. His
demonstrations have been designed to call attention to injustice, designed to provoke change, designed
to stir reform. He has called upon us to make good the promise of America. And who among us can
say that we would have made the same progress were it not for his persistent bravery, and his faith in
American democracy. From these great words, Johnson described the American Negro as a hero, who
had awakened the conscience of this nation. There is no doubt that many people were neutral in this
case. However, after that speech, after being persuaded by their president, they might turn to agree
with their president. Some of them might give up their prejudices to Negroes. They would recall many
Negroes who were used to live with them were also kind and gave their hands sometimes. Pathos
work in that way. Authors utilize pathos to tough readers and audiences, like what I have mentioned,
everyone has the milk of human kindness. Take text for example again, This great, rich, restless
country can offer opportunity and education and hope to all, all black and white, all North and South,
sharecropper and city dweller. These are the enemies: poverty, ignorance, disease. These impressed
words reminded all the people of that USA belonged to everyone. They should be unity to stop
poverty, ignorance, disease not discriminate not our fellow man, not our neighbor. This pathos

Defining Macbeth in William Shakespeare s Play Essay
Defining Macbeth in William Shakespeare s Play
The character of Macbeth is a classic example of a Shakespearean tragic hero. There are many factors,
which contribute to the degeneration of Macbeth of which three will be discussed. The three points,
which contribute greatly to Macbeth s degeneration, are the prophecies, which were told to him by the
witches, Lady Macbeth s influence and manipulation of Macbeth s judgment, and finally Macbeth s
long time ambition which drove his desire to be king. Under these influences Macbeth s character
degenerates from a noble, brave, loyal man to violent, murdering, tyrant individual.

Macbeth is in struggle with his conscience but is goaded by Lady Macbeth to proceed with the murder
when she questions his manhood. Macbeth s image of himself forces him to reply,
I dare do all that may become a man;
Who dares do more, is none
As soon as Macbeth has performed the treasonous deed he immediately regrets his wrongdoing. At
this point of the play the audience can note the change in Macbeth s character. Macbeth s first murder
was a trying experience for him, however after the first murder; killing seemed to be the only solution
to maintain his reign of the people of Scotland. Therefore, it was Lady Macbeth who introduced the
concept of murder to Macbeth as the shortest way to obtain the crown that was prophesied by the
witches.
Macbeth s ambition also influenced his journey form hero to villain. However, Macbeth s ambition
had not been strong enough for him to kill the King. He declares,
I have no spur

The Crash Of The Plane Crash
Day 1: I awoke covered in sand with the sun beating down on my face. Looking into the vast ocean
upon me I knew I had survived the plane crash, but how could I have ended up on this mysterious
island? I sat there for a moment trying to piece together what had occurred. It was June 17, 1979 and I
was on a plane heading to Bosnia for a mission trip when the plane encountered engine problems.
There were several loud booms coming from the cockpit when suddenly a huge explosion rips through
the fuselage tearing the aircraft into several pieces. At this point I was sure death was upon me.
Somehow, I managed to survive the plummet into the ocean and swim to a piece of debris floating in
the water. This was the last thing I remember until waking up on the shore. God sure must have been
looking out for me to have survived that crash!
After the shock had set in that I was still alive, it was time to decide what to do to survive on this
island. Not knowing how long I will be here, there are three very important things to locate: food,
water, and shelter. I walked along the shore looking for anything to wash up from the crash. I
stumbled upon a few suitcases filled with clothes and several other items I could use to my disposal.
While searching the shore I found absolutely no sign of life and realized that I was the only survivor
that had made it to land. I then began walking inland to find water and a place to rest for the night. I
could hear the sound of water flowing in the

Reports of God s Death Are a Bit Premature
The Reports of God s Death Are a Bit Premature
Arguing the death of God is a debate that will last until eternity. Regardless of exploration or religious
zeal there are far too many human viewpoints leaning towards the idea of and the strong need for
faith. Believing in God for some is as natural as walking upright and it would seem that through such
unquestionable faith God would somehow still be alive. But perhaps He is only surviving with the
help of life support.
For example, it would be difficult to tell a passionate Fundamentalist Christian that God was not alive
in his or her heart. Therefore, Nietzche s claim of God s demise would fall on deaf ears, for he or she
would, in a sense, be keeping God alive with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And if doubt alone didn t kill Him, combine it with a feeling of failure and a broken heart and it s no
wonder that he has passed on.
The question now is: what do we do about it? Because of this death of God the Idea, we must enter
into a period of nihilism where we will believe in nothing and doubt everything. Nihilism represents
the ultimate logical conclusion of our great values and ideals because we must experience nihilism
before we can find out what value these values really had. We require, at some time, new values
(Kaufman 131). Since we are humans and by nature we need to have some form of religion in our
lives, we will then begin to create a new religion, a religion of our own. This new Religion will be
based upon our own interpretations about our meaning and our existence. We will draw our own
conclusions and not rely on religion to simply do it for us. By virtue of having killed God, we will
become our own gods! (Kaufman 126).
The implications this sudden death holds for us are vast. But what is at the forefront is the idea of
rebuilding and starting over. It is not easy to start anything from scratch, and reinventing a new
religion for the human race is much more complicated than apple pie. We must begin to have faith in
ourselves as individuals, we must look inward and toward the earth. We cannot look solely to science

Essay on Compare The Ostler and The Darkness Out There
Compare The Ostler and The Darkness Out There
In this essay I will compare two stories The Ostler, written in the
19th century by a man called Wilkie Coliins, and The Darkness Out
There, by Penelope Lively, written in the 20th century. They are both horror stories, a genre which has
been popular throughout the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. This is perhaps because, since we are no
longer scared on a daily basis, as would have been the case in medieval times, we need to find an
artificial way of creating the thrill.
I will look at the similarities and differences between the way each story is structured, the build up of
tension, the settings and the characters. First I will summarise each story and look at their 19th

The stories were written in different centuries. The Ostler was written in the 19th century and The
Darkness Out There was written in the 20th century. There are many differences between them which
make this obvious.
The most obvious of these differences is that an ostler is a profession that does not exist today. They
worked at inns, looking after the horses of travellers who were staying the night.
In The Ostler, when the main character, Isaac, discovers that his fiancà e is the woman who tried to
murder him in his dream, he feels that he has to keep his word and marry her anyway, which probably
would not happen today, because people s ideas of what is right and wrong have changed, and most
people do not have such a strong sense of duty. Although the character of a manipulative woman still
appears in many stories, some aspects of Rebecca s background would not appear in a 20th century
story. She is obviously from an upper class family but has somehow fallen . It is not clear how she
came to be is the state she was when Isaac first met her, but some of the most common ways were to
get pregnant outside of marriage, or have an affair with a married man. It is also possible that she has
treated other men in the same way she treats Isaac, and that this has somehow contributed to her
downfall.
The language that is used in The Ostler also makes it clear that this is a 19th century story. Long

In William Shakespeare s tragic drama Othello, the wife of the protagonist is Desdemona. She is a

with loud shouts about his daughter s elopement with Othello. In response to Iago s vulgar

While waiting there for Othello s ship, she grows tired of Iago s derogatory comments directed at his

Her total forthrightness and courage show her to be the daughter of a senator! She continues to

Critical Appreciation Of Dover Beach
Eternal Note of Elegy A sensitive mind can often feel the essence of The Times more deeply than its
peers. Matthew Arnold is an obvious example. When British empire was beguiled by the prosperity of
the surface of Victoria Time, as a poet and scholar, he wrote in his top ranking poem Dover beach sang
desperate elegy for the crisis in the whole western civilization. In nature, Dover beach is a masterpiece
recalling with emotion. It starts with a peaceful picture, and ends with a feeling of reasoning, using a
sense of the word. But it is different from traditional feeling poetry, but it uses some dramatic
treatment techniques, in the way of the poet s monologue. The dramatic scene in the poem is the night
of the moon, in a house on Dover s seashore, where people sail across the English Channel to French
ports. The poem started when the tide was full, and the sea was calm, and everything seemed so quiet
under the moonlight. Such good night is a perfect time for the lovers to date. So, the poet could not
help but telling his lover, Come to the window, how sweet the evening breeze is! But then came the
waves at low tide from the gravel. It gently and repeatedly chanted the beat, recalled the poet endless
thoughts, turning the scenery into lyrical poetry, giving the expression with the development of the
poet s thoughts. The poet begins by connecting the changes of the tides to the fate of the people,
because the tides, though rising and falling, are always the symbol of

The Increase Of The Mc Influenced Fi And Bwg Table 5
Experimental data
Results confirmed that MC was the limiting amino acids in the respective dilution series. The increase
of levels of the MC influenced FI and BWG Table 5. The maximum FI could be observed between the
second and the forth levels in the initial phase, first and second level in growing and finish phase to
male and female broiler fed with increased level of MC.
The increase inclusion of MC in the feed caused a range in MCi between lower and upper levels in
female broiler of 23.16 initial, 407.72 grower, 775.97 mg/bird.day in finish phase and 242.04, 463.99
and 904.84 mg/bird.day initial, grower and finish phase in male, respectively. The range of BWG in
female was: 18.78 initial, 27.11 grower, 30.72 g/bird.day in finish phase and male broiler: 20.06,
34.67 and 45.92 g/bird.day during initial, growing and finish phase, respectively. It is possible
observed that the males have higher range of responses in BWG and MCi in the three phases studied
when compared to female s broiler. For BWG is observed that the plateau is reached between the
fourth and fifth levels of MC.
Parameters of monomolecular

  • 2. Cause And Effect Of Stress On College Students According to a study by the Associated Press and mtvU, eight in 10 college students say they have sometimes or frequently experienced stress in their daily lives over the past three months, ( Stress in College Students ). College Students are inevitably going to be affected by stress at some point throughout their college experience; however, the cause of the stress can vary by student. Some of the causes of stress on college students can be tests, homework, home life, social life, and jobs. Many times, college students have all or most of these causes piled on top of one another; therefore, giving them extremely high levels of stress. There are many negative effects of stress on college students. To begin, one effect of stress on college students is physical health problems. Some of these problems can include internal stomach problems, weight gain, and even weight loss. When people are stressed, they tend to focus on the stressor rather than their own health. For example, college students can experience internal stomach problems because of the amount of stress they are under. According to Doctor Michael Craig Miller from Harvard Medical School, functional gastrointestinal disorders have many different causes but stress in particular can cause these problems to arise (Miller). This goes to show that stress can largely affect college students physical health. Aside from stomach issues, many college students experience weight gain or weight loss. The Freshman 15 is a ... • 3. Humanitarian Intervention Essay The key objections to humanitarian intervention include the conflict of interests with the self interested state and sovereignty, the difficulty of internal legitimacy, the problematical Responsibility to Protect (R2P) doctrine, and the debate over legality of intervention. The issue of morality stands as an overarching issue which touches on all of these. Overall, one finds that despite a moral imperative to intervene, humanitarian intervention should not occur but is perhaps the lesser of a series of evils. In realist theory, states are self interested in that their own relative gains are favoured over absolute gains (i.e. gains for the entire society of states). This raises questions of motive and the potential for abuse in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, it can be argued that the motives behind intervention are not as important as the interventions themselves the moral function of humanitarian intervention is to save lives and this can be achieved with or without altruistic motives. To this a possible reply is that seemingly unjust intervention may aggravate the receiving state, more so perhaps in military interventions than economic, political or social. A threatened state is arguably more likely to initiate a backlash. However, such an argument cannot be made against a UN sanctioned intervention, where it can be agreed that the intervention is legitimate and in the interests of the global community. The issue of marginalising state sovereignty completely ignores the fact that sovereignty is granted by the international community , . The arguments that states such as China may put forward, that state sovereignty is absolute and deserving of unadulterated respect, rests on the idea that states grant themselves sovereignty, which upon reflection, one finds to be untrue. State sovereignty can only be realised if it is acknowledged by the global society of states. To this a realist might argue that theoretical sovereignty is separate from actual sovereignty, and that states will defend their sovereignty regardless of its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Night At The Perk A night at The Perk Ethnography or field research is a sociological method that explores how people live and make sense of their lives with one another in particular places. The focus might be on understanding the human race and the meaning they produce through everyday interactions, or places, and the organizational logics that guide our activities (columbia.edu, 2017). A discourse community comprises of a group of people, especially within a sphere of intellectual or social activity, who share common goals, who support and understand each other using their own specific language or manner of interaction whether verbal or non verbal (Oxforddictionaries.com, 2017). These businesses that are run by students are very vital to the student body that is interested in business and entrepreneurship. They should be introduced in every campus that hosts business studies. Business students read about ventures, organizations and management in textbooks, but it s a completely different experience while making decisions about an actual business. The thrill of making decisions, feeling the consequences of every decision made is something that cannot be taught. It must be experienced. This method of learning would revolutionize how business and management is taught in universities, creating social change and bettering society (Mars, Matthew M. and Gary Rhoades, 435 459). The members of my field research discourse community The Perk would be any student that works for this business or any person who visits and purchases food from this café. Although The Perk is open to everybody, the late night hours and the location allow only students who dorm on campus to be able to visit the café. Circumstances have made this café exclusively for resident students. • 6. Essay On George Mcclellan s Assassination The bloodiest war in U.S. history was fought from 1861 to 1865. Of the current thirty four states, seven southern slave states seceded from the United States and together they formed the Confederacy (Confederate States of America.) The war was an inevitable side effect of different political standings and opinions, about the morals and duties of man in everyday life, between the North and South. When the war started, the North learned an important ideology about what would be necessary for the fighting to end. They realized that they had to win, and end the Confederacy, in order for the Union to be whole again with Northern ideals. While on the other hand, the Confederacy only had to prove themselves to the Yankees, in other words, they only had to hold the fight until the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though this was true, Lincoln still put McClellan in charge of his army on the Eastern Theater. McClellan was well respected and admired for many reasons, he was very visible to his men, also he made them feel like they were soldier rather than a mob of beaten men. McClellan s men would take a bullet for him any day of the week and twice on Sundays, but with knowing this he gets scared. He is reluctant to engage the enemy in battle and won t commit his men to the fight. This is shown in Antietam when McClellan could have ended the war but is not obedient and does not attack when he had the chance. • 7. The White City By Claude Mckay Analysis The White City by Claude McKay illustrates McKay s complicated love hate relationship with the city where he lives and the world around him. Born to peasant farmers in a small mainly Black village in Jamaica, McKay learned pride in his African lineage. His first encounter with bigotry and prejudice against people of color, especially those of African descent, occurred as a teenager in Jamaica s capital of Kingston. Here he saw discrimination and injustices levied on people of color especially Blacks. Throughout his life and future travels, he continued to see and despise racism, and he fought against it using his talent of poetry and the pen. His travels eventually brought him to the United States and, in particular, to Harlem in New York during an era known as the Harlem Renaissance. The White City reflects McKay s internal struggle of both disgust and admiration for his hometown of Harlem as it portrays his resentment towards the white man s world and his love for the life giving essence Harlem provides to him and other people of color. Born Festus Claudius McKay in 1889 in the village of Sunny Ville Jamaica, McKay s parents taught him respect and dignity for his African roots and heritage (Drayton). At seventeen he ventured outside his village for the first time to his nation s capital of Kingston. In Kingston, he witnessed discrimination, intolerance, and sometimes even hatred towards people of color and especially those of African descent. One year later ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Training In Arthurian Literature Essay Arthurian authors do not often address training in Arthurian Literature. This may be to keep some sense of mystery or even because it does not make for a very interesting story. However, this was a very important part of the lives of nobles in the middle ages. Children would often leave home as early as age seven to train in the ways of warfare and chivalry. This shows that training was very important in shaping the young men who would someday become honorable knights. Though nobility and knighthood are widely seen as a matter of nature, this training shows that there is a great deal of nurture necessary to create the best knights possible. In medieval times, warfare was not merely an occupation or duty; it was a way of life. Men drew their personal worth and civil ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The nobility often employed training in the form of tournaments in times of peace to ensure that knights were ready for battle. In many Arthurian texts, we see tournaments as a way to get recognition and show off one s prowess in combat. Yvain even lost his love and mind because of his love for tournaments and need for recognition. This exemplifies pride as negative in Arthurian literature but we see that pride is central to the life of knights throughout the middle ages. Without pride, a knight might not do all that he could to develop his skill in combat and work to keep his talents sharp. This paper will examine the importance of training not only in childhood but also throughout the life of a medieval knight to ensure his survival in battle, his livelihood, and his honor. It will also compare and contrast this with some elements in Arthurian Literature regarding tournaments and chivalric code. Though young nobles left home to train at a young age, their training never ceased even after they earned the title of knight; their deeds in tournaments and warfare trained them further throughout their ... This is a story by edgar allan poe that was published in november of 1846 in a womans magazine. During the story he uses many types of imagery. He seems to try to use many of these to establish a well made story. This story is so well established to be creepy and disturbing that in many parts of the story he lets the reader think for themselves so many people have different opinions on the story. He is well descriptive but rellys so much on imagery in this story than some of the others. ¨The vaults are insufferably damp. They are encrusted with niter.¨ In this part of the story he is trying to show the reader how damp the vaults are because of the niter. He does a really good job of showing us how it feels down there like in this sentence ¨We passed through long walls of piled skeletons , with casks and puncheons intermingling, into the inmost recesses of the catacombs.¨ This is very descriptive and makes you imagine how it looks and how dark and decrepit ... • 10. Faith In A Good Man Is Hard To Find In the final moments of life, it is not unheard of for a man to fight, pray, or even beg for his life; it is practically human nature. This familiar human facet is outlined in one of Flannery O Connor s most popular short stories, A Good Man Is Hard to Find. To be specific, O Connor s characterization of the grandmother in the story details a woman selfishly desperate to save her own life, a beggar built on words, hoping for some kind of pity; at the same time, The Misfit is characterized as an emotionless sociopath, who has no time for the grandmother s pleading. In many ways, the entire family illustrates their lack of concern for fellow man (Dibble 7). In the closing events of the short story, we are shown the depths of the grandmother s faith and The Misfit s rejection of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the most pivotal moments of all, however, is the old lady s epiphany, revealing the profound message of all. Altogether, A Good Man Is Hard to Find is a product of interwoven themes of faith presented through the characterization of two opposing characters. Throughout the story, the grandmother continually calls The Misfit a good man, and while this is most likely just another attempt to manipulate him into not murdering her, it is still something to be considered. Therefore, the question that begs to be answered is: Is The Misfit a good man? On the surface, most would scoff at this question: Of course The Misfit is not a good man; he is a murderer, after all! In fact, McDermott says that, critics find no plausible argument for such an unwavering proclamation [that The Misfit is a good man]. However, in the paradoxical situation that is A Good Man Is Hard to Find, The Misfit may be the best man out of any of the characters. As said by Dibble, O Connor s treatment of the characters in this story reinforces her views of man as a fallen creature ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is much more to Cooperative Learning than merely arranging students into groups, and it has been described as structuring positive interdependence (Prasetyo,2012). Cooperative learning is a technique that allows students to learn from each other and gain important interpersonal skills. Learn more about the benefits, strategies, and techniques involved in cooperative learning ( Olsen, 2003). It is an organized and structured way to use small groups to enhance student learning and interdependence. Unlike individual learning, which can be competitive in nature, students learning cooperatively can capitalize on one another s resources and skills (asking one another for information, evaluating one another s ideas, monitoring one another s work, etc.) ( Chiu, 2008). Ross and Smyth (1995) described successful cooperative learning tasks as intellectually demanding, creative, open ended, and involve higher order thinking tasks. • 12. Insight On My Community Experience Insight on My Community Experience July 19, 2015 Pauline Nguyen NURS223L Professor Macaraeg Abstract This paper explores a nursing student s first hand experience interacting with substance dependent addicts from a volunteer s perspective. The student completed a total of 15 hours of community service all around the Orange County area in order to have a better insight on what these type of people, who one day may be their patient, have to live and go through. The main goal of this assignment is focused on the student s understanding of the mentally ill individual in hopes of preparing them to become the best caregiver they can be. Before entering this term, I honestly did not know what to expect. I tackled my community service hours with an open mind and I finished able to identify nursing roles, responsibilities and activities in the community setting. To begin with, I attended my first Narcotics Anonymous meeting with a classmate. Is drug addiction a mental illness you may ask? According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the answer is yes. This is because addiction changes the brain in fundamental ways, disturbing a person s normal hierarchy of needs and desires and substituting new priorities connected with obtaining and using the drug (Drug Abuse, 2010). As a matter of fact, the DSM includes criteria for drug use disorders, which has two types. These include drug abuse and drug dependence. We chose to attend the meeting at Her ... I learned how to research topics effectively and use scholarly sources instead of popular sources. I learned how to conduct an interview and developed problem solving skills. All of these techniques helped me develop my final solution to the issue I chose to research. In high school, when my teacher told me to research a topic and write an essay on it, I would go to Google and type in the topic. Once Google provided me with millions of hits, I usually chose the first one and used it. Also, I would use Wikipedia. Wikipedia contains information about topics, but people can edit those pages and put false information. At the beginning of my second semester, I started to learn about scholarly sources. Scholarly sources usually come from an expert or doctor. These experts and doctors take the time to research the topic and provide it to the public. • 17. Similarities And Differences Between Antonia And The Great... Both books were about love in some way. They both focus on a character who cares very deeply for a significant woman. Gatsby was obsessed over Daisy. Jim loved Antonia. The woman they loved had difficult lives, due to the fact that women s lives were set up to be made hard. They had to marry a man of decent wealth, or do slave work. These were most women s only choices. There were no jobs other than slave work for a woman, with only a few exceptions. Antonia was stuck doing slave work for years, while Daisy was with a horrible rich man for support. With both books one main choice a woman had to make was whether they would depend on a man. Daisy made the choice yes, while Antonia at first was against this. In this world they lived in, the easiest life decision they could make would usually be to find a nice man they could fall in love with, marry, and depend on financially. This world was a man s world when it came to work, so almost every woman would want a man. If this is the life they choose to lead, then they need to maintain the perfect image that men look for. They need to live with a respectable family if doing slave work, not have any children already, not have had sex with anyone and have the information known publicly, and so on. Men, especially men of wealth, won t be attracted to a woman who contradicts any of these. Therefore, Antonia had a hard time. She was offered a job with a man who is known to sleep with his workers, or worse, but pays far more than the opposing jobs she could get. She would be putting her reputation down the drain if she accepted, but at this point in time she wasn t looking to depend on anyone. Daisy fell in love with a man of much wealth, who has regular affairs. She shows her love for him a handful of times throughout The Great Gatsby, so she wasn t involved for just the money. The money is most likely why she fell for him in the first place, and part of the reason she stays, but over time she developed a love for him. In order for a laboratory to run smoothly and collect good data, the lab must stay clean and sterile. In order to gain information, I used techniques such as note taking, asking extensive questions, and drawing a sketch of the lab. His actions and protests, his courage to risk safety and even to risk his life, have awakened the conscience of this nation. His demonstrations have been designed to call attention to injustice, designed to provoke change, designed to stir reform. He has called upon us to make good the promise of America. And who among us can say that we would have made the same progress were it not for his persistent bravery, and his faith in American democracy. From these great words, Johnson described the American Negro as a hero, who had awakened the conscience of this nation. There is no doubt that many people were neutral in this case. Nihilism represents the ultimate logical conclusion of our great values and ideals because we must experience nihilism before we can find out what value these values really had. In The Ostler, when the main character, Isaac, discovers that his fiancà e is the woman who tried to murder him in his dream, he feels that he has to keep his word and marry her anyway, which probably would not happen today, because people s ideas of what is right and wrong have changed, and most people do not have such a strong sense of duty. Although the character of a manipulative woman still appears in many stories, some aspects of Rebecca s background would not appear in a 20th century story. She is obviously from an upper class family but has somehow fallen . It is not clear how she came to be is the state she was when Isaac first met her, but some of the most common ways were to get pregnant outside of marriage, or have an affair with a married man. It is also possible that she has treated other men in the same way she treats Isaac, and that this has somehow contributed to her downfall. The language that is used in The Ostler also makes it clear that this is a 19th century story. Long words, such ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Shakespeare s Othello Desdemona in Othello In William Shakespeare s tragic drama Othello, the wife of the protagonist is Desdemona. She is a lovely, intelligent, wholesome and pious person. This essay will analyze her. In Act 1 Scene1, Iago persuades the rejected suitor of Desdemona, Roderigo, to accompany him to the home of Brabantio, Desdemona s father, in the middle of the night. Once there the two awaken him with loud shouts about his daughter s elopement with Othello. In response to Iago s vulgar descriptions of Desdemona s involvement with the general, Brabantio arises from bed and, with Roderigo s help, gathers a search party to go and find Desdemona and bring her home. The father s attitude is that life without his Desdemona ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus it would seem that Desdemona has been living her life with a father who is primarily interested in self and less in Desdemona. And yet she has emerged unscarred psychologically, and capable of deep love for Othello. Entrusted to the ancient s care and that of his Emilia, Desdemona arrives at the seaport of Cyprus. While waiting there for Othello s ship, she grows tired of Iago s derogatory comments directed at his wife, and she quite matter of factly states her mind: O, fie upon thee, slanderer! and even directs Iago s focus off of Emilia and onto her ownself: What wouldst thou write of me, if thou shouldst praise me? Her total forthrightness and courage show her to be the daughter of a senator! She continues to critique the ancient s answers to her questions: These are old fond paradoxes to make fools laugh i the alehouse and O heavy ignorance! thou praisest the worst best. She is not fearful or reticent in the least. Once that her husband has safely arrived on the island and disembarked, she greets him publicly, and later responds before the crowd to his loving address to herself: The heavens forbid But that our loves and comforts should increase, Even as our days do grow! (2.1) She is showing herself to be a most wise and feeling wife. It is this tenderness that Cassio appeals to after Iago has entangled him in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Critical Appreciation Of Dover Beach Eternal Note of Elegy A sensitive mind can often feel the essence of The Times more deeply than its peers. Matthew Arnold is an obvious example. When British empire was beguiled by the prosperity of the surface of Victoria Time, as a poet and scholar, he wrote in his top ranking poem Dover beach sang desperate elegy for the crisis in the whole western civilization. In nature, Dover beach is a masterpiece recalling with emotion. It starts with a peaceful picture, and ends with a feeling of reasoning, using a sense of the word. But it is different from traditional feeling poetry, but it uses some dramatic treatment techniques, in the way of the poet s monologue. The dramatic scene in the poem is the night of the moon, in a house on Dover s seashore, where people sail across the English Channel to French ports. The poem started when the tide was full, and the sea was calm, and everything seemed so quiet under the moonlight. Such good night is a perfect time for the lovers to date. So, the poet could not help but telling his lover, Come to the window, how sweet the evening breeze is! But then came the waves at low tide from the gravel. It gently and repeatedly chanted the beat, recalled the poet endless thoughts, turning the scenery into lyrical poetry, giving the expression with the development of the poet s thoughts. The poet begins by connecting the changes of the tides to the fate of the people, because the tides, though rising and falling, are always the symbol of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After his life of nazi hunting, he moved back to his native land Austria. Used to his active lifestyle, he found himself doing nothing all day. He decided to spend his time more productively by writing down all that he remembered about being a concentration camp inmate. The book was about when he was a concentration camp inmate, Simon was taken from his cell to the bedside of a dying member of the SS. (Hitler s personal guards) Haunted by the crimes he has helped commit and watch in the past, he wanted to hear a jew say that he forgives him so he could die at peace. Faced with the choice of a man dying in peace, or silence and justice, he chose silence. The book was later published and titled Sunflower, a metaphor for a sunflower starting in a ground, in darkness, then eventually sprouting and basking in the sun. He started from ground zero, pretty much like a robot. Everyday he wakes up at the same time, eats the same lousy breakfast, works in the same factory, and sleeps at the same time. Then eventually his camp is liberated right before the nazis started liquidating the inmates population. Then he became a free man therefore has no restraints. Simon was also awarded many medals for his services as a Nazi hunter. 13 states dished out medals of honor, and France, Germany, England, and America. In conclusion, Simon Wiesenthal was most known for his time as a Nazi ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Increase Of The Mc Influenced Fi And Bwg Table 5 Experimental data Results confirmed that MC was the limiting amino acids in the respective dilution series. The increase of levels of the MC influenced FI and BWG Table 5. The maximum FI could be observed between the second and the forth levels in the initial phase, first and second level in growing and finish phase to male and female broiler fed with increased level of MC. The increase inclusion of MC in the feed caused a range in MCi between lower and upper levels in female broiler of 23.16 initial, 407.72 grower, 775.97 mg/bird.day in finish phase and 242.04, 463.99 and 904.84 mg/bird.day initial, grower and finish phase in male, respectively. The range of BWG in female was: 18.78 initial, 27.11 grower, 30.72 g/bird.day in finish phase and male broiler: 20.06, 34.67 and 45.92 g/bird.day during initial, growing and finish phase, respectively. It is possible observed that the males have higher range of responses in BWG and MCi in the three phases studied when compared to female s broiler. For BWG is observed that the plateau is reached between the fourth and fifth levels of MC. Parameters of monomolecular The responses of MCi to BWG was studied in three rearing phases in both sexes through of the nonlinear model. The range of the responses of experimental data were enough to adjust the function with good fit. The monomolecular model estimated the BWG.max in 30, 64.9 and 89 (g/day) in female and 32.0, 73.7 and 116.1 (g/day) for male initial, grower and finisher phase, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
