Toilet Training
There are some of the things that make potty training hard for kids with autism spectrum disorder and
one of the biggest, or most obvious, is the fact that many kids with ASD are more broadly
developmentally delayed and it certainly interferes with their learning in all domains, but there are
things that are more specific to ASD, such as communication difficulties. It is difficult to tell someone
that one needs to go potty if one is having trouble communicating (Kiddoo et al. 2006) and it is also
difficult for us to communicate to the child with autism what the importance of going potty is or what
they are supposed to do. Another thing is sensory issues and there is a lot of sensory stimulation and
input around the toileting routine. Some of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The book is a well researched supported intervention because it is very structured, straightforward, all
the procedures are laid out, and it is easy to take data and track progress. There are different
components in the toilet training procedure. First, we start off with having the child not wear diapers
anymore and transitioning them into underwear (Cocchiola, Martino, Dwyer, Demezzo, 2012). We
then put the child on a toileting schedule, so setting up a routine where every 20 or 40 minutes we are
taking the child to the toilet. Next, we increase their fluid intake by which the child will go to the
bathroom frequently (Cocchiola et al. 2012) and can practice what they are supposed to do and the
learning will increase as well. Furthermore, by increasing the fluid intake we are increasing the
probability that the child is going to go to the bathroom in the toilet and we are increasing the
probability that we are going to have a coincidence, so when we put the child on the toilet every 20
minutes, one of those times the child is finally going to go. Thus, giving us the desired behavior and
this is difficult because this is a behavior that we cannot prompt and we have to wait for it to happen at
the right time and then reinforce the child for it. So, we are trying to essentially create a lot of
probability that the child is going to go in the toilet when we take them and then reinforce them for it,
so a little bit of learning traction can happen. Additionally, there is a dry pants check where it is a
procedure where we check the child s pants in between their trips to the toilet and if the pants are dry
then we praise them for it, so that they have the idea that staying dry is the right

The Ethics of Genetically Enhancing Children Essay
The term designer children is unnerving at first to many. The idea of parents designing the genetic
makeup of their offspring makes children seem like a commodity in a genetic free market. Thoughts
of a dystopian society like the one in the film Gattaca come to mind. However, taking an immediate
repugnant stand against genetic enhancement is not well founded. A more open minded inspection of
the issue reveals that the idea of parents improving their children s life prospects through genetic
engineering (provided it is safe) is, at its core, not unethical. In fact, some genetic enhancement in
addition to correcting deleterious genes to prevent disease is a moral obligation. It is moral to make
rational decisions using the science and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Genetic enhancement is just another form of enhancement which has the benefit of the child in mind.
There are many others: education, medical care, extra curricular activities, etc. As Goering puts it, a
parent does not blink when they give the child vitamin supplements, vaccinations, and dental
enhancements (e.g., braces) [Goering, 2]. Imposing parental treatment is a part of being human and is
ethical when the intentions are beneficent. There is no real difference in changing attributes of a child
for the better at the genome level, or once the child is born. If administering growth hormones to
young children to prevent them from being too short [Simon] is justifiable, then so is germline genetic
modification of height to produce the same result. Or, if parents are fine with the installation of braces
to straighten their child s teeth, then they should be fine with genetic manipulation instead to produce
the same outcome. The two actions are basically the same; the latter is perhaps even better as it
eliminates the discomfort of being forced to wear braces. One may object that genetic enhancement is
unethical because it is not natural and we are losing something precious by

The Most Memorable Writing Experience
Most Memorable Writing Experience: My Reflection on Writing I have been writing since I have been
in Middle School. I have realized that by college it was easier for me to write down my thoughts in
order for me to remember what I have said or done. Writing out my thoughts gives me a sense of
recollection, knowledge, and pacification that gets me through my day. I pictured writing to be as
simple as jotting down a few sentences, but as I got farther in school I realized that there is more to it
than just writing sentences. English has been my most difficult subject I have ever endured, but I have
somehow been managing to make excellent grades and achieving all requirements. First in the essay, I
will discuss my experiences in the English life that I ve taken so far up until college. The second part
will list my struggles in creating a thesis, a work cited, and properly citing my sources used in the
papers. My experience with English has changed drastically from middle school to college. Being in
middle school I have really had to do much of a big paper, but as I progressed through college I ve
realized there much more that has to be added. I had always wondered why middle school was so easy
but as years went on, I realized that advancing to college there s a lot more requirements and
importance to writing. In middle school, I was young and just starting to really realize what an essay
was and after high school I really understood what an essay consists of. No matter how

Growing Up In The Red-State Of Kansas, I Naturally Gravitated
Growing up in the red state of Kansas, I naturally gravitated towards the republican party, and it was a
commonsense choice when I learned of the ambitions of those who occupied the alternative one. Fox
News pundits, conservative bloggers, and God fearing Christians, all informed me that the Democratic
party was a party full of lazy anti Americans who wanted to raise taxes because they chose living off
the government instead of taking personal responsibility to achieve their goals in life. They also told
me that the party was full of libtards, idiots, communists, and socialists, who lacked a healthy
understanding of economics and history. And let s not forget the immoral god haters seeking to
destroy our society by evicting every trace of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But then something happened. I don t really know how to articulate what occurred, but I can only refer
to it as a moment of existential disruption. This disruption triggered something in me that said, I need
to reevaluate everything I think and know. So, I began to reflect on what I believed about the world, as
well as the methods I used for acquiring information about it. After a few years of deep thinking and
extensive research, I reached many conclusions that differ from what I originally thought and
believed. I believe that it s important to challenge the beliefs and opinions held about the world. The
reasons for challenging opinions and beliefs about the world are numerous. One reason, for example,
is that when people holding different views engage in discussion, the opportunity to sharpen critical
thinking skills is created, which are essential for every area of life. However, it s not within the scope
of this blog series to delineate every reason, just to cover what I believe to be the most imperative. I
believe it s important to challenge beliefs and opinions held about the world because they shape how
we live in it. During the beginning of President Obama s first term, conservative pundits propounded a
great deal of anti Obama rhetoric, with one of the chief claims being that he was anti American, and
therefore wanted to destroy the

Military Status Protection Covers The Employment Rights Of...
Military status protection covers the employment rights of military veterans and reservists. The two
most important laws that protect the rights of veterans and reservists are the Vietnam Era
Readjustment Assistance Act (VERA) of 1974 and the Uniformed Service Employment and
Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) of 1994 (Mathis, Jackson, Valentine, Meglich, 2017). In this
paper we are going to focus on the most recent law that effect employers the USERRA.
Part One The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 is a Federal
law that establishes rights and responsibilities for uniformed service members and their civilian
employers. USERRA prohibits employers from making unfavorable action which would deny initial
employment, re employment, advancements, or benefits against individuals from the uniformed
services on account of their military service. USERRA also prohibits employers from discriminating
against past and current members of the uniformed services and applicants to the uniformed Services
(EGSR, n.d.). USERRA is a Federal law intended to ensure that upon their return from service,
individuals who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, National Guard, or other uniformed
Services will be free from discrimination in their place of employment as well as be able to retain their
prior employment and benefits. Typically to qualify for reemployment, the total length of the present

Essay on Cox s Container Company (CCC)
In the modern constant changes business environment, company needs to change constantly to remain
competitive in the market. If not, the company will be facing survival risk. There are no mercy and
exception for Cox s Container Company ( CCC ). CCC faced increasing competitions over the past 5
years and profits are in declining trends due to reduce in margins. Harold Cox was clueless on how to
rectify the problems. He has delegated the task to Erica Wilson to review CCC s operations and
oversee organization changes. Under her control and management, new central administration
department was formed to implement budgeting system and company wide information system. First

Tax Treaties And Double Taxation
Tax Treaties and Double Taxation Every company has the obligation to pay taxes on any income that
is generated; many of these companies are well known internationally and have become very popular
all over the world. These companies have established many of their own companies known as small
subsidiaries companies, in some jurisdictions outside their country of citizenship; but, how many taxes
do these companies have to pay on each jurisdiction? This could be the big question, since there are
many standards, policies, regulations and/or factors that international companies will need to adapt to.
Governments around the world impose their own taxes, with their own requirements and procedures.
International companies, most of these companies have their headquarters established in the United
States, but many field offices all over the world; which they have to pay taxes in the country where
they reside and in the country of earning foreign source income. The United States have its own
standards, which many companies know that they can be easier to adapt however, every other
jurisdiction has their own set of rules that can be difficult to understand. Many of these rules are
needed to be adapted for their own benefit; since companies will like to take as many advantages as
possible. On the other hand, foreign countries need these companies to pay taxes on the profit that
these companies make on their country. Over the years companies have been paying taxes oversees

The City Of Yaupi, Ecuador And Peru
The Jivaro people also known as the Shuar people are one of the indigenous people that habitat parts
of eastern Ecuador, and northern Peru. They live in small, spread out villages of approximately 22,000
square miles throughout the Amazon forest and foothills of the Andes mountains. The Jivaro people
consist of different smaller groups of people such as Achuar, Humabisa, Aguaruan, Antipas, Mayna.
The people can also speak over six languages: Jivoran, Quechua, Shiwar, Achuar, Awajun, and
Huambisa. The purpose of this study is to discern how the history of violence to themselves and from
others has impacted the Jivaroan way of life today. The city of Yaupi, Ecuador is a primarily Jivaro

In the villages, they have little education, except those children who are sent to learn Spanish in

taught to have skills to live in the Amazon. It is important to note that while those in Ecuador call
these people Jivaros in, some villages the people preferred to be called Shuar because Jivaro or Jibaros
can be alluded to mean savage or rustic. Some of the Jivaro people are not far from town; therefore,
their connection to people in the towns is not rare. For years, they have traded goods, and land for
more goods. Trading shrunken heads was also once common. In the 20th century, once shurken heads
was outlawed the heads started to become counterfeited for trade. There are different ways to get to
and around this community. In the village, it is easier to walk or bike, but it is important to be aware of
surroundings since all forms of transportation and livestock share the road. It is possible to find some
service in some spots of the area; however, payphones can be used in towns. There are requirements
that must be set to visit this community. It is easier to access the Jivaro in Yaupi, as previously said,
because it is a known that can visited by bus. First, I must obtain a U.S passport to get to Ecuador and

Analyze The Impact Of Terrorism On American Culture
Throughout the world, terrorism affects cultures in a myriad of ways. The United States Department
of Defense defines terrorism as, the calculated use of violence or the threat of violence to inculcate
fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are
generally political, religious, or ideological (DOD). Terrorism has emerged in the last ten years as one
of the most crucial issues governments attempt to tackle. Many movies and documents can help
people better understand the major strain of terrorism. As seen by the effects of the September
eleventh attacks on American security, tourism and economy, the Taliban, and Somali piracy, terrorism
has had an utmost impact on the world. September eleventh, 2001 was a tragic day for not only the
people of New York, but around the world. These attacks would shape America s security, tourist
industry, and the economy. The most immediate change was airport security, which is fully visible to
this day ( Doc. 1). Congress federalized airport security by passing the Aviation and Transportation
Act, and created the Transportation Security Association, commonly known as TSA. Airports around
the globe have implemented more unyielding bag ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Change In Macbeth And Lady Macbeth s Wickedness
In William Shakespeare s Macbeth, there are multitude of changes throughout the play within
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth s wickedness. A metamorphosis takes place deep inside both characters;
however, the changes oppose each other. The witches chant: The weird sisters, hand in hand, posters
of the sea and land, thus do go about, thrice to thine and thrice to mine and thrice again, to mine and
thrice again, to make up nine. Peace! The charms wound up. (Act 1.2 Lines ) The witches pour
prophecies into Macbeth giving him an insight of what is to come in his future as King of Scotland.

King. She thinks to herself: Yet do I fear thy nature it is too full o th milk of human kindness... Hie
thee hither, That I may pour my spirits in thine ear and chastise with the valor of my tongue all that
impedes thee from the golden round. (Act 1.5 Lines 13 15 and Lines 22 25). When he returns home,
she says Look like the time; bear welcome on you eye (Act 1.4 Line 61). She implies that with the
strength she has she will over power Macbeth thought and get him to the throne to make it their own.
Lady Macbeth has a lot in mind and through all the thoughts that are cramming into her head only one
stuck, and it was to kill King Duncan while he is asleep. It is time for their rebellious move to become
the new reign of Scotland. Macbeth is still not up for the murder of his King because King Duncan is
loyal to Macbeth as he is with King Duncan. Lady Macbeth does not care she would love to go ahead
and kill him and become Queen of Scotland for her to conduct this horrible crime she has in mind.
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth have to wait till everyone leaves the castle. Later on that night, Macbeth
is feeling delusional he starts to imagine the dagger that he will kill King Duncan with. Macbeth says:
is this the dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my hand...A dagger of the mind, a false
creation proceeding from the heat oppressed brain? (Act 2.2 Lines 32 33 and Lines 37 and 38)

Income Inequality and Standard of Living in the United States
A characteristic of man that separates him from the majority of the animal world is his organization of
social and economic systems. Man, however, retains traits of his evolutionary ancestors in the form of
self preservation and greediness. While many political, economic, and social systems try to eradicate
this form of natural selection, capitalism and related economic structures preserve social inequality in
many forms. Historically, this preservation of financial inequality has achieved a higher standard of
living generally than systems originally formed and employed to achieve just that.

Many privately owned companies exist in capitalist societies. The population is not vast enough to
carry all of these companies.
Everyone needs a house. Rich people poor people; all people are included. This is a problem, because
housing costs a great deal of money. Poor people that can barely afford food and clothing also have a
hard time finding reasonable housing. As a result, some live in unsafe and unhealthy conditions that
are badly in need of repair. Poor people live in the central city for two different reasons. First, the
farther away that you get from the central business district, the higher your transportation costs to get
to your job (assuming that the job is located in the CBD). If you can not afford to commute to your
work, you will be unable to keep your job, making you worse off economically. Therefore, you would
chose to locate your residence close to your place of employment (closer to the CBD) in order to
reduce your transportation costs. IF you live close enough to your place of employment, you may not
need to use any form of transportation other then your feet, which doesn t cost you anything but your
time.
The second reason has to do with where new houses are built. New homes are built on land that was
previously undeveloped, usually located on the outer edge of the residential district, furthest away
from the central business district. The wealthiest people move into these new homes, leaving the upper
middle

Suicide In Me Before You, By Jojo Moyes
People all have their own opinions about suicide and reasons to commit it, but could an author create a
story to convince readers that suicide is okay? In the book Me Before You, Jojo Moyes has two main
characters who have different opinions about this topic. Will Traynor wants to commit suicide and
Louisa Clark is trying to prevent him from doing so. This created a lot of controversy in the book
itself from both sides of the argument. People should have the right to commit suicide when disabled
disadvantaged mentally or physically. In the book Me Before You, Jojo Moyes emphasizes the
importance of having euthanasia as an option for ending your life when disabled.
Moyes argues that disabled people cannot live life happily after having great experiences while active.

Father by Elliot Del Borgo, Grand Serenade for an Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion by P. D. Q.
Bach, and Galop by Dmitri Shostakovich. A major work for contest with the rhythmic excitement of a
processional and an ominous sounding melodic quality. The orchestration is beautifully conceived and
the percussion writing is ideally suited for younger musicians. The piece begins in the percussion very
quietly. All three players should be in equal balance. It is crucial that the timpani be tuned precisely as
indicated. The main idea of the piece, first appearing at measure 12, dominates this section. Careful
attention to balance and intonation should be given to the low brass stating the idea. The call motif is
developed canonically at the tritone, first as a two part canon in tutti, then as a four part canon by
soloists. The soloists should be of equal balance. The legato theme is developed through several keys,
and the entire section builds gradually from piano to fortissimo. The main idea is recalled at measures

Essay On Us Foreign Relations
The United States is an amazing land of opportunity, open to most anyone of any nationality. This land
has shone a beacon of freedom since 1776 when it declared its sovereignty from Great Britain and the
fight for its freedom. The United States has since then taken a vital part in much of the many
international affairs that occur around the globe. Some of it being conducive to its continued
sovereignty and expansion and its fight to be the most powerful country in the free world, and some of
it to help our allies in ways that they cannot always help themselves. In today s world, the United
States has a major presence on almost every continent, but this was not always the case throughout its
history. When looking at the history of United ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While this is one example of foreign relations in the history of the United States, there are many
others, such as the Revolutionary War, where the United States got its beginning, the War of 1812,
where the United States had to once again defend itself from Great Britain in a great victory, America
s involvement in the island nation of Hawaii, which had an interesting outcome, and the Spanish
American war, which had many repercussions, some being good and some being bad.
The best place to start with foreign relations of the United States is in the Revolutionary War when the
United States fought Great Britain for their independence. This war began on April 19, 1775, and
ended on September 3, 1783, with a surprising victory for the Americans. The war was caused by
growing political changes between the Americans and the British. The British were continually taxing
the American people while simultaneously giving them no say in the matter. This is where the famous
phrase No taxation without representation comes from. It was not long after this point when the
Americans decided to finally fight for their independence from the British and not only fight for better
representation in their government. This is arguably the first time the United States as a sovereign
nation had any sort of foreign relations with a nation that was not

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Personality Traits
Most personality theories share a common interest in traits. Theorists have become fascinated with
traits, as they essentially tell us what makes us, us. Perpetual features within us demonstrated by our
actions within everyday life. Trait theory aims to assess personality, whilst identifying and measuring
the extent of particular repetitive personality traits for example shyness and analysing how much these
traits vary from person to person. Trait theory is perhaps the most widely used perspective when it
comes to analysing personality and it vastly differs in comparison to other theoretical perspectives. In
order to test the validity of trait theories this essay will identify its key theories, focusing on how
personality traits are defined and measured. These will include Allport s central traits, Cattell s sixteen
personality factors, Eysenck s EPQ three dimensions and the big five. Unveiling the differences
between trait theories, looking at application of trait theory, whilst identifying its strengths and
weaknesses, as well as uncovering the personality paradox alternative perspective to trait theory in
order to test trait theories validity.
Allport was a dominant theorist during the early stages of personality analysis within the psychology
field, he searched through a dictionary, choosing from it over 4,000 words which can be used to define
personality. He then took this colossal amount and subdivided it into three key sections. As he
believed personality to

Prudhoe Bay Research Paper
Prudhoe Bay is a town in the Arctic region of Alaska; it is also called Sagavanirktok. It is a significant
industrious economical area because the largest oilfield in all of North America is located in Prudhoe
Bay. This does not give economical advances to just Alaska s economy, but also the country s
economy. Prudhoe Bay s major oil producers are British Petroleum and Phillips; other minor oil
companies are Brooks Range, Anadarko, Exxon, and Eni. Prudhoe Bay has an abundance of oil an
example of the amount is, in around 1 day 1 million barrels of oil are produced meaning in around 25

The environment is described as a tundra which means a the land is a flat treeless area. Prudhoe Bay is

geography is so flat, the oil rises up from geological pressure under the ground. This is one of the
reasons oil is found here by the barrels. Though the plant life seems a bit sparse many animals reside
in this natural habitat and thrive off the habitat; common animals of this area are caribou, migratory
birds, bears and many more. Because Prudhoe bay is located in the far north, climate is low; the

Ancient Greece Present Day Civilization
Ancient Greece and our present day civilization has many differences. Art and architecture have
handled some changes between ancient Greece and our civilization. Whether it is because of the way
they created art, or how they built structures, they could be very different. It is like a timeline of before
and after.
Art back then was made to show how their day was. They made paint out of bugs, plants, or anything
that had color in them. They would create ceramics out clay and etch figures of gods and goddesses
and paint them. They would create everything by hand and make each one intricate with a story. They
also made carvings of their god and goddess, like Athena. Statues were a way of worshiping that god

The Great Recession Of 2008-9
The Great Recession of 2008 9 was the deepest and longest capitalist economic slump since the Great
Depression of 1929 32. The recent financial crisis is known as the Great Recession of 2008 9. Its
downturn was sparked by the collapse of the US housing market. In 2006, the prices of home began to
rise and the banks began to encourage potential homebuyers to take out larger loans. There were lower
interest rates at the time, and this seemed like a good idea for most individuals who were searching for
a new home. Then, in mid 2007, the interest rates began to rise. The values of the homes decreased
and the amount of money a house was worth declined significantly. Many homeowners were stuck
with large loans, increasingly high interest rates, and a decreased price of their home. Many
homeowners went into foreclosure or were evicted. This eventually led to large financial institutions
and banks to become bankrupt, which lead to an overall fall in the US economy. Stocks dropped,
consumer spending declined significantly, and companies began to go out of business (Athanasiu, 43).
This financial crisis has impacted the economy tremendously during that period. Businesses have been
drastically impacted, as have the lives of workers in the United States. Many articles have been
published about different aspects of the recession. One question that has not been completely
addressed is how the Great Recession has affected small business and unemployment rates. The
reason for addressing

The Media and Comparative Politics
Today, in our society, a major form of educating the public is through media. Media is constantly
playing key roles for our political system along with informing the public with crucial knowledge
about other countries. It has helped changed the way the human population interacts with each other as
well as developing a more unified opinion among the subjects, which it affects. Media is a form of
communicating with one another that tries to provoke a certain message. Usually it is opinionated in
some way that persuades the audience to agree with what they are watching. We consider media to be
television, radio, magazines, newspapers, etc. All of these forms have one sole purpose and that is to
relay a message to its audience. Both positive and negative results can come from this. Usually it
manipulates information for ones own benefit. In different governments, politicians as well as interest
groups do this on a daily basis to persuade others to support their beliefs. Then media is brought up
again when discussing comparative politics, playing a crucial role when comparing struggles among
State borders. Government has heightened power when using the different forms of media because the
dramatic influence the media plays to its viewers. Without the usage of media, we would be unable to
obtain important information as fast and we would be unaware of other events taking place in our
world. Media today, is what tries to build our world into one globally involved community. One of

Pride is the parent of destruction; pride eats the mind and the heart and the soul alive. Anne Rice. In

terrible. The victim of pride here is the narrator who has a brother named Doodle that was born
disabled so the narrator does everything in his power to make Doodle normal even if it means death.
In fact death of Doodle is the result we get and it is the narrator s fault because he overworked him, he
left him in the storm, and the fact that he never even loved Doodle in the first place. One of the
reasons the narrator was responsible for killing Doodle was because he overworked him. The narrator

Compare And Contrast The Scientific Revolution And John Locke
Essay#2
The Scientific Revolution resulted in many discoveries and inspired people to think differently. This
led to people changing their views on enlightenment. Some, such as John Locke, thought rights were
the way to go. Others, such as BDM, believed government could ensure happiness. There were even
people, like Voltaire, believed a voice could solve all problems. John Locke was an English thinker
from the seventeenth century who lived through the English Civil War. John Locke was against
powerful government because, unlike others, he believed that people were reasonable and moral. He
also believed in natural rights. Natural rights were rights given to people at birth. They differed from
other rights because natural rights cannot be taken away. There are three natural rights: life, liberty and
the pursuit of happiness. Locke also argued that people formed governments, not to impose order, but
to protect everyone s natural rights. The U.S put these natural rights in their constitution. Because of
these three rights, we don t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to protect liberty was to divide the powers in government. He came to this conclusion after years of
research. Montesquieu studied the governments of England and Italy. He even read about ancient
Chinese and Native American government systems. In his book The Spirit of the Laws he discusses
different forms of government throughout history. His book also includes sharp criticism of absolute
monarchy and explains why he supports dividing powers. Montesquieu s government consisted of
three branches: the judicial, legislative, and executive. He felt this was the best because the three
branches could check each other. This idea heavily influenced our Founding

There are several issues and applications of databases within organisations. It is important to know
these in order to design a good database.
Integrity
Data integrity can be defined as The accuracy and consistency of stored data, indicated by an absence
of any alteration in data between two updates of a data record. (http://www.businessdictionary.com,
23/01/15) Data integrity can be degraded due to invalid data, redundant data, and inconsistent data.
(Database Security and Auditing, Page 11) These degradations could be the result of:
User entering invalid data mistakenly or due to incompetence.
Application code not validating inputted data.
Faulty design that does not conform to normalisation standards.
Errors that occur when data is transmitted from one computer to another.
Software bugs or viruses.
Hardware malfunctions, such as disk crashes.
Fires, floods and other natural disasters.
Threats to data integrity can be reduced by:
Backing up data regularly.
Controlling access to data via security mechanisms.
Designing user interfaces that prevent the input of invalid data.

Eating Disorders and Negative Body Images
Millions of teens and adults are faced with eating disorders and negative body images everywhere

our stick thin role models we have in the media today much of our society holds their own body image
to the unobtainable standards of celebrities. People are bombarded with images of what s sexy instead
of what s healthy (Helmich). In a world based around celebrities and media, shouldn t they be

John Steinbeck s Depiction Of The Tempts Of Jesus In The...
The Bible tells us that Satan is an expert tempter and he tempts us in three areas of our humanity
which are the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1Joh 2:16 KJV). We can see these
three things in his attempt to tempt Jesus in the wilderness to sin against God. Jesus had fasted for
forty days without food and was hungry so Satan challenges Jesus to turn stones into bread, but Jesus
responds to the temptation with Scripture. (Mat 4:3 KJV) And when the tempter came to him, he said
if thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (Mat 4:4) But he answered and

(Mat 4:8) Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the
kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; (Mat 4:9) and saith unto him, All these things will I
give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. (Mat 4:10) Then saith Jesus unto him, get thee
hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Satan adds more pressure in his attempt to convince Jesus to bow down and worship. He makes Jesus
a promise that he would give Him everything for Jesus s allegiance. In the first place, Satan cannot
give what he does not own. He is a liar and the author of deception. Jesus does not fall for the lies and
again resist Satan with the Word of God. (Deu 6:13KJV) Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and
serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
The Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. But God has a Word for us when we are tempted to sin
against Him. In 1 Cor. 10:13 (KJV) it is written, There hath no temptation taken you but such as is
common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but
will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear

Aphrodite s Role In Greek Mythology
Greek mythology has influenced today s world due to the actions of the Greek Gods and Goddess .
Aphrodite, the goddess of love, fertility, and beauty, is an influence of a moral lesson in today s
society and caused an act of destruction.
In Greek mythology the Greek goddess Aphrodite has many myths and stories impacting today s life.
She was the goddess of love, fertility, and beauty. Many myths claim that she was an irresistible,
beautiful, loving goddess. Homer has said that she was the child of Zeus and Dione born in Illiad. In
Illiad she was a weak creature that no mortal was in fear of. Hesoid says Aphrodite rose from foam in

mean creature. When Eros laid eyes on her he immediately fell in love and sent her to a castle in a
land far away. Psyche thought he was and evil monster because he kept his identity hidden from
Psyche until one night when she saw his face. She was going to kill him and try and escape but when
she turned on the light she saw his true identity and instantly fell in love. In fear Eros flew off and
Psyche began searching for him everywhere. She went everywhere until she decided to ask Aphrodite
for help. Although Aphrodite gave her very hard tasks to complete, such as having to go far into the
sea and almost everywhere, before she found him she realized something. Aphrodite realized that her
son s happiness shouldn t be controlled by her needs(Colombian Encyclopedia). She should let him be
happy even if she doesn t like who it s with. The moral lesson Aphrodite influenced today s society

Age-Related Macular Degeneration Case Study
Age related macular degeneration (AMD) can take two possible forms. Neovascular AMD (wet AMD)
or non neovascular AMD (dry AMD) as discussed in the introduction. The available treatment
involved in curing patients suffering from AMD differs between the two types of the disease.
Neovascular AMD has previously been treated by coagulation therapies of the blood vessel present in
the fovea (part of the retina where the ability of vision is the highest). These therapies involve the use
of infrared laser light to destroy any additional or new vascular cells in the fovea with the objective of
avoiding the leakage of blood vessels. This would prevent photoreceptors from further being damaged
and so won t deteriorate vision any further. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, according to Giacalone et al, the use of anti VEGF agents is more effective for the treatment
of wet AMD. This method of treating wet AMD both slows, and in some cases, even stops the
progression of photoreceptor damage (Kashani, 2015).
As stated by both Giacalone et al and Nazari et al, Non neovascular AMD is the main type of AMD
responsible for the majority of AMD related conditions in patient usually aged fifty or above which
corresponds to almost 80 90% of people with AMD (Nazari et al, 2015). As described in the
introduction, wet and dry AMD have different characteristics and therefore require different
treatments. The picture below shows the difference between wet and dry AMD respectively.
The use of pluripotent stem cells are used by allowing the damaged RPE cells or molecules to be
replaced by the differentiated stem cells to allow their function to reinstate. However, the use of these
pluripotent stem cells require months of time to be studied, differentiated and eventually being
transplanted into the target area under the macula (Kashani, 2015). However, according to Giacalone
et al, the use of pluripotent stem cells for the non neovascular AMD condition has not shown in an
effective treatment strategy compared to the use of pluripotent stem cells in neovascular AMD.

Lost Art Of Personalization
The Lost Art of Personalization
You have gone to great lengths to get where you are in life. Your family, your name, and your position
are causes for pride and celebration. Why aren t you celebrating them? Consider personalizing your
surroundings with items that highlight the love you have for your family, business, and
accomplishments. Not only will they stand out, but they will make an impression on everybody who

In times of old, a family s heritage was proudly displayed on a coat of arms passed down from
generation to generation. Many families also possessed a seal which was used to authenticate
documents, letters, and other correspondence. In many parts of western Europe, these symbols of
tradition are still used to this day.

Government and Industry were Fully Established in the 19th...
The 19th century in America was a period of development. Now that the federal government had been
fully established, the United States was settling into the new nation and embark on the journey of
becoming a world power. To do so, the republic must construct a thriving industry, or the economy
would crash and the nation would become impoverished. However, the industry was not easy to build
up. It required careful nurturing and a watchful guide so that it would become the industry in the
current United States. Who would cultivate the industry? Rather than a single body or entity,
numerous factors resulted in the growth of industry. In the 19th century, the growth of an industry can
be attributed to the availability of financing spurred by protective tariffs, the Bank of the United
States, a wealth of laborers, and economic expansion. The central government became instrumental in
the industry s success by passing tariffs, and in doing so, protecting American businesses. Tariffs were
taxes that were passed on goods imported from outside the country. After the War of 1812, even the
most stalwart Democratic Republicans [realized] that the United States needed to attain economic
independence (Tariff of 1816). This would become a huge danger to the nation s welfare if they ever
went to war with Britain again, which was the source of their manufactured goods. Consequentially, in
1816, the first tariff that would protect American businesses was passed, in hopes of creating an

The Dominican Republic-Central America-United Stats Free...
Throughout the decades, motivations to join a Regional Trade Agreement (RTA) have remained fairly
consistent. Along with the prospects of economic growth and development, countries aim to achieve
economic and social stability, poverty reduction, and an increase in labor provisions. As with many
developing countries, RTAs encounter a wide range of complications that hinder economic prosperity.
In some cases, RTAs that are formed with good intentions by countries who seek growth come to have
a negative effect on a country within the agreement. The following essay will provide an in depth
analysis on the impact the Dominican Republic Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA DR)
continues to have on Guatemala s preexisting social issue of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While CAFTA DR included human rights and environmental provisions, activists were angered about
the preexisting regulations in these countries, their lack of enforcement, and the minimal effect the
agreement would have on these issues. Despite this opposition, supporters of CAFTA DR promoted
the projected economic and security advantages that would be the direct result of free trade between
signatory countries through the elimination of tariffs and other trade barriers (Wade, 2007, p. 651).
With this hope, the ratification of CAFTA DR was passed and is currently in effect in every country
that signed the agreement.
An Outline of the Economic and Social Status of Guatemala Guatemala, located in Central America
bordering Mexico and the Pacific Ocean, is home to approximately 13 million people. After a long
civil war, a democratic form of government emerged accompanied by some economic development.
Although Guatemala is not considered one of the world s poorest countries, it has faced economic
hardship within the last several years. According to Chase Dunn (2000), on the basis of gross national
product per capita, [Guatemala] falls into the category the World Bank terms low to middle income
countries . But among countries in this category, Guatemala has one of the highest economic

Bruce Lee was Better than Chuck Norris
Why are there so many Chuck Norris jokes but hardly any Bruce Lee jokes? Because Bruce Lee is no
joke. Through his films, philosophy, and legacy, Bruce Lee became an icon to the world. Lee s films
had consumed the kung fu genre, and in doing so made him an icon. First of all, kung fu was a new
and growing genre, and Lee had monopolized them. According to Bruce Lee s Wikipedia, before
stardom Lee would take on minor roles in American TV dramas; in order to prove his worth, Lee went
to China to star in films produced by Golden Harvest that would be promoted to Hollywood
executives. Lee broke back to back box office records with his first two films The Big Boss and Fist of
Fury. Lee then went on to act and direct Way of the Dragon in which Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris
filmed a fight scene that is now considered one of the most memorable fight scenes in martial arts
films. While filming his fourth Golden Harvest film Game of Death, Warner Bros had offered Lee a
starring role in Enter the Dragon. Lee s untimely death had occurred just days before the release of
Enter the Dragon. Enter the Dragon would go on to be one of the highest grossing movies of the year
and instill Lee as a martial arts icon (3 Acting Career). Secondly, Lee brought kung fu movies to
America. Lee provided the ground work for other martial artists such as Jackie Chan and Jet Li to
continue; in short, if Bruce Lee hadn t accomplished what he did, Jackie Chan and Jet Li may have
made it in China but not

  • 2. Toilet Training There are some of the things that make potty training hard for kids with autism spectrum disorder and one of the biggest, or most obvious, is the fact that many kids with ASD are more broadly developmentally delayed and it certainly interferes with their learning in all domains, but there are things that are more specific to ASD, such as communication difficulties. It is difficult to tell someone that one needs to go potty if one is having trouble communicating (Kiddoo et al. 2006) and it is also difficult for us to communicate to the child with autism what the importance of going potty is or what they are supposed to do. Another thing is sensory issues and there is a lot of sensory stimulation and input around the toileting routine. Some of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The book is a well researched supported intervention because it is very structured, straightforward, all the procedures are laid out, and it is easy to take data and track progress. There are different components in the toilet training procedure. First, we start off with having the child not wear diapers anymore and transitioning them into underwear (Cocchiola, Martino, Dwyer, Demezzo, 2012). We then put the child on a toileting schedule, so setting up a routine where every 20 or 40 minutes we are taking the child to the toilet. Next, we increase their fluid intake by which the child will go to the bathroom frequently (Cocchiola et al. 2012) and can practice what they are supposed to do and the learning will increase as well. Furthermore, by increasing the fluid intake we are increasing the probability that the child is going to go to the bathroom in the toilet and we are increasing the probability that we are going to have a coincidence, so when we put the child on the toilet every 20 minutes, one of those times the child is finally going to go. Thus, giving us the desired behavior and this is difficult because this is a behavior that we cannot prompt and we have to wait for it to happen at the right time and then reinforce the child for it. So, we are trying to essentially create a lot of probability that the child is going to go in the toilet when we take them and then reinforce them for it, so a little bit of learning traction can happen. Additionally, there is a dry pants check where it is a procedure where we check the child s pants in between their trips to the toilet and if the pants are dry then we praise them for it, so that they have the idea that staying dry is the right ... • 3. The Ethics of Genetically Enhancing Children Essay The term designer children is unnerving at first to many. The idea of parents designing the genetic makeup of their offspring makes children seem like a commodity in a genetic free market. Thoughts of a dystopian society like the one in the film Gattaca come to mind. However, taking an immediate repugnant stand against genetic enhancement is not well founded. A more open minded inspection of the issue reveals that the idea of parents improving their children s life prospects through genetic engineering (provided it is safe) is, at its core, not unethical. In fact, some genetic enhancement in addition to correcting deleterious genes to prevent disease is a moral obligation. It is moral to make rational decisions using the science and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Genetic enhancement is just another form of enhancement which has the benefit of the child in mind. There are many others: education, medical care, extra curricular activities, etc. As Goering puts it, a parent does not blink when they give the child vitamin supplements, vaccinations, and dental enhancements (e.g., braces) [Goering, 2]. Imposing parental treatment is a part of being human and is ethical when the intentions are beneficent. There is no real difference in changing attributes of a child for the better at the genome level, or once the child is born. If administering growth hormones to young children to prevent them from being too short [Simon] is justifiable, then so is germline genetic modification of height to produce the same result. Or, if parents are fine with the installation of braces to straighten their child s teeth, then they should be fine with genetic manipulation instead to produce the same outcome. The two actions are basically the same; the latter is perhaps even better as it eliminates the discomfort of being forced to wear braces. One may object that genetic enhancement is unethical because it is not natural and we are losing something precious by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Most Memorable Writing Experience Most Memorable Writing Experience: My Reflection on Writing I have been writing since I have been in Middle School. I have realized that by college it was easier for me to write down my thoughts in order for me to remember what I have said or done. Writing out my thoughts gives me a sense of recollection, knowledge, and pacification that gets me through my day. I pictured writing to be as simple as jotting down a few sentences, but as I got farther in school I realized that there is more to it than just writing sentences. English has been my most difficult subject I have ever endured, but I have somehow been managing to make excellent grades and achieving all requirements. First in the essay, I will discuss my experiences in the English life that I ve taken so far up until college. The second part will list my struggles in creating a thesis, a work cited, and properly citing my sources used in the papers. After a few years of deep thinking and extensive research, I reached many conclusions that differ from what I originally thought and believed. I believe that it s important to challenge the beliefs and opinions held about the world. The reasons for challenging opinions and beliefs about the world are numerous. One reason, for example, is that when people holding different views engage in discussion, the opportunity to sharpen critical thinking skills is created, which are essential for every area of life. However, it s not within the scope of this blog series to delineate every reason, just to cover what I believe to be the most imperative. I believe it s important to challenge beliefs and opinions held about the world because they shape how we live in it. As a result, some live in unsafe and unhealthy conditions that are badly in need of repair. Poor people live in the central city for two different reasons. First, the farther away that you get from the central business district, the higher your transportation costs to get to your job (assuming that the job is located in the CBD). • 27. The Great Recession Of 2008-9 The Great Recession of 2008 9 was the deepest and longest capitalist economic slump since the Great Depression of 1929 32. The recent financial crisis is known as the Great Recession of 2008 9. Its downturn was sparked by the collapse of the US housing market. In 2006, the prices of home began to rise and the banks began to encourage potential homebuyers to take out larger loans. There were lower interest rates at the time, and this seemed like a good idea for most individuals who were searching for a new home. Then, in mid 2007, the interest rates began to rise. The values of the homes decreased and the amount of money a house was worth declined significantly. Many homeowners were stuck with large loans, increasingly high interest rates, and a decreased price of their home. Many homeowners went into foreclosure or were evicted. This eventually led to large financial institutions and banks to become bankrupt, which lead to an overall fall in the US economy. Stocks dropped, consumer spending declined significantly, and companies began to go out of business (Athanasiu, 43). This financial crisis has impacted the economy tremendously during that period. Businesses have been drastically impacted, as have the lives of workers in the United States. Many articles have been published about different aspects of the recession. One question that has not been completely addressed is how the Great Recession has affected small business and unemployment rates. The reason for addressing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. Compare And Contrast The Scientific Revolution And John Locke Essay#2 The Scientific Revolution resulted in many discoveries and inspired people to think differently. This led to people changing their views on enlightenment. Some, such as John Locke, thought rights were the way to go. Others, such as BDM, believed government could ensure happiness. There were even people, like Voltaire, believed a voice could solve all problems. John Locke was an English thinker from the seventeenth century who lived through the English Civil War. John Locke was against powerful government because, unlike others, he believed that people were reasonable and moral. He also believed in natural rights. Natural rights were rights given to people at birth. They differed from other rights because natural rights cannot be taken away. There are three natural rights: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Locke also argued that people formed governments, not to impose order, but to protect everyone s natural rights. The Bible tells us that Satan is an expert tempter and he tempts us in three areas of our humanity which are the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1Joh 2:16 KJV). We can see these three things in his attempt to tempt Jesus in the wilderness to sin against God. Jesus had fasted for forty days without food and was hungry so Satan challenges Jesus to turn stones into bread, but Jesus responds to the temptation with Scripture. (Mat 4:3 KJV) And when the tempter came to him, he said if thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (Mat 4:10) Then saith Jesus unto him, get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Satan adds more pressure in his attempt to convince Jesus to bow down and worship. He makes Jesus a promise that he would give Him everything for Jesus s allegiance. Now that the federal government had been fully established, the United States was settling into the new nation and embark on the journey of becoming a world power. To do so, the republic must construct a thriving industry, or the economy would crash and the nation would become impoverished. However, the industry was not easy to build up. It required careful nurturing and a watchful guide so that it would become the industry in the current United States. Who would cultivate the industry? Rather than a single body or entity, numerous factors resulted in the growth of industry. In the 19th century, the growth of an industry can be attributed to the availability of financing spurred by protective tariffs, the Bank of the United States, a wealth of laborers, and economic expansion. The central government became instrumental in the industry s success by passing tariffs, and in doing so, protecting American businesses. Tariffs were taxes that were passed on goods imported from outside the country. After the War of 1812, even the most stalwart Democratic Republicans [realized] that the United States needed to attain economic independence (Tariff of 1816). This would become a huge danger to the nation s welfare if they ever went to war with Britain again, which was the source of their manufactured goods.
