Diversity and Inclusion Paper
Thinking About Diversity and Inclusion Paper SOC/315 December 15, 2010 Professor Dr. Lorthridge
Introduction This paper will discuss and focus on the four dimensions of diversity: ethnicity, gender,
differences in skills, abilities and personality traits and how they have an impact in my workplace. To
be able to go further in this paper one should understand the definition of diversity. Diversity is a
variety between people associated to factors such as culture, employment status, education, family
orientation, gender, origin, physical appearance, religion, sexual orientation and thinking style
(Harvey, C. P., 2009). Although the differences themselves are unquestionable, organizations and
society often reject them by acknowledging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Organizations must stop visualizing diversity as an issue and start seeing it as a benefit for the
organization. There are several reasons why a diverse workforce will add value to a company. Most
businesses, either large or small, work on a global scale; the information age has brought the entire
world a lot closer. Having associates that can deal with different cultures around the world is crucial to
an expanding business. A diverse workforce will help to build more rounded individuals with
experience they will gain from a mixed environment. Customers will benefit from the diverse
workforce because a company that makes a choice to be open and flexible with its associates will
more than likely be easy to work with in a business relationship. Probably the most important aspect
of having a diverse workforce is the vast knowledge gained by pooling the different life lessons,
cultures and experience together thereby allowing everyone the chance to learn new and different
business practices (Sappal, Pepi, 2002). In reality, as you can see from the positive argument produced
above, diversity assist organizations a key advantage in the corporate world. Culture can help an
organization to succeed, when diversity is taken into action, non biased and properly managed can be
greatly effective. There is no doubt after researching the arguments for cultural diversity that
organizations should invest in a highly

The Assessment Of Formative Assessment
Formative Assessment
Formative assessment is often embedded at intervals the academic method. However maybe useful
thanks to formative assessment is that it s given throughout instruction. Formative assessment
confirms what, wants or topics have to be compelled to be addressed next with a student. A formative
assessment not solely includes tests associate degreed schoolwork however also can be an interactive
method within the classroom. As an example, open discussions within the learning environment. Open
class discussions can provide the educator with input on student s math learning and development.
Such as Examination, examination shows that descriptive feedback is a valuable element of the
formative assessment method. Stating to youngsters what specifically they did well, together with
links to different resources and specific suggestions for improvement, will facilitate them reach

Analysis Of Dany Chan s Article Adding Flowers On Brocade
In Dany Chan s article, Adding Flowers on Brocade: Shared Aesthetics of a Qianlong Porcelain and
Rococo Textiles, he analyzes the style of vases that were produced during the Qianlong dynasty (1736

article with a brief description of the QIanlong dynasty great accomplishments in the ceramic arts,
emphasizing the flamboyant style of the vases. He argues early on, that not enough time is spent

The Negative Effects Of Adulthood In Childhood
For most of the population of the world, childhood is filled with countless invaluable memories. There
are ordinary events such as attending numerous friends birthday parties or hoping for as many snow
days as possible. One may remember specific memories, in particular attending a local carnival or the
day they received their favorite stuffed animal. For a smaller portion of the population, childhood is
tainted by memories of an emotionally and/or physically abusive parent. As troubling as those
memories can be, experience in dealing with such adversity might be useful as one venture into
adulthood. Adults who have experienced significant childhood stress might display a hostile
personality, meaning they distinguish a threat in situations that others view as normal. It s suggested
that the script can be overturned, or at least altered. Recent studies have shown that individuals who
have chaotic childhoods, exhibit an increased ability to observe and monitor threats and remember
negative events. Thus allowing the adult to gain a new perspective on life. One can assume, under the
right conditions, adults from stressful childhood situations would perform better than expected at
gathering information and assessing people s reputations. However, many people think in terms of
whether a slow or fast life approach is acceptable or insufficient for a growing child. One should think
in terms of what is appropriate in each environment. For instance, a child growing up in a structured

How Traditional Anishinaabe Medicine Can Be Integrated...
When the culture of the Anishinaabe, or Ojibwe, people were suppressed when colonization began in
the Americas, their medical practices were as well. In an effort to preserve the Ojibwe culture as well
as establish effective treatment options for people living on reservations as well as members of Ojibwe
communities, Anishinaabe cultures should be incorporated into the clinical setting.
When working with different cultures in a health environment, it is necessary to have an
understanding of that culture as different perspectives and values will have an effect on their medical
care. Therefore, an understanding of Anishinaabe medicinal practices is crucial when considering the
prevention and treatment of illnesses in the Anishinaabe community. Since traditional methods are not
practiced in American healthcare, how information is perceived in the population as well as inclination
to comply with different treatments are affected. How traditional practices can be incorporated in a
Western healthcare setting as well as the challenges that exist in doing so will be evaluated.
To begin to assess the different ways that traditional Anishinaabe medicine can be integrated into
Western medicine, how the Anishinaabe culture was affected by colonization must be discussed. The
cause of an illness is fundamental to determine how to treat it. There are two kinds of illnesses that
differ in how they are treated as well as their etiology.
One is white man s sickness , which include diseases

Peoples1 tries to deconstruct the typical portrayal of Old Hollywood s American frontier in regard to
romanticizing violence thereby freeing the typical genre from its old, preconceived stereotypes. The
main film stars three well known actors: Clint Eastwood (as William Munny), Morgan Freeman (as
Ned Logan), and Gene Hackman (as Little Bill Daggett). Eastwood dedicated this film to three film
directors, which included John Ford, Sergio Leone, and Don Siegel. Significantly, the first of these
directors, John Ford, is well known for his visual narrative and characterization of Americana which

The Reflection Of Human Nature, By Seamus Heaney
Firstly, Heaney uses the structure of the poem to tell us about human nature. For example, the slow,
familiar rhythm of the iambic pentameter creates a reflective tone where the voice in the poem looks
back at the lessons learnt in the past. This shows how we glamorize the past even our bad experience
so we can learn from them. The two uneven stanzas with gently half rhyming couplets add a softness
and a musical lilt without imposing too much rigidity. This also reflects the romantic memory and
romanticised view of nature that we apply on our past experience however gruesome. Plus, by using
lists and multiple points of enjambment Heaney give the poem a childlike and excited tone. This
conveys the image not only of children and their views on the world but how we look into the past and
become children again recalling the events that faced our young selves. Finally the long first stanza
filled with the collection of the good, ripe fruit is destroyed quickly from the short, second stanza full
of rot and decay. I believe that this suggest that however much we we gather and hoard our wealth will
always deteriorate, often though death. This emphasise how horrible the human nature of hoarding is,
as it will always end in hardship.
Heaney also describes human nature though caesuras which are scattered throughout the poem. For
example,a caesura at the end of lust for picking makes the reader linger on the word picking , stressing
the action. This conveys the message that It is not the blackberries but the activity that they lust after.
This first caesura of joy and happiness is then juxtaposed by the next cesura Like a plate of eyes. .
This is a disconcerting image that matches the earlier images of flesh and clots. It is also as if they are
staring at him accusing him of hoarding all the fruit that he won t be able to eat, plus the fact that he
wrote it shows he is remorseful for his greed. The contrast between these two caesuras suggests the
message that it is human nature that our greed will always take over the joy of the activity.
The seven deadly sins are scattered throughout the poem and helps Heaney describe human nature.
Firstly, Heaney say that after we pick the fruit we hoarded them in the barn.

The Theory Of The Work Of Art
Cubism was always an interpretation of objective reality, of a given motif. But Kandinsky was to
initiate was by contrast essentially and deliberately non objective. Kandinsky s own experience was
personal and even apocalyptic.
2 Kandinsky conclude non objective painting must be expressive, emotion or spiritual experience.
Non objective painting could form and colour, free form all representational aim, be articulated into a
language of symbolic discourse.
3.Art is a construction of concrete elements of form and colour which become expressive in the
process of synthesis or arrangement: the form of the work of art is in itself the content, and whatever
expressiveness there is in the work of art originates with the form.
4. The whole purpose of this alternative principle was to escape from the internal necessities of our
individual existence and to create a pure art, free from human tragedy , impersonal and universal.
5.The painter who was to develop to its logical extreme the objective concept of abstraction was Piet
Mondrian (or Mondriaan)
6. His (Mondrian s) style of pure abstraction evolves gradually and consistently form his patient
search for a reality behind the motif.
7.The journal De Stijl was a propogate their views on art. This became the name of the movement,
though Mondrian himself always preferred Nieuwe Beelding (neo Plasticism) as a more meaningful
word.

Upon crashing each of these waves paved the way for the next. As one reviewer notes: The still
abstract recovery of the humanity of Jesus opened the way to a consideration of the concrete history
and story of Jesus of Nazareth. Attentiveness to the specific ministry of Jesus led to a new
appreciation of the contemporary context and challenge of discipleship. Sensitivity to the actual
experience of following Jesus today raised new questions about the meaning of salvation in Christ for
the poor, for women, for people of color. The everexpanding encounter of world religions posed anew
the issue of Christ as universal savior.10 The third wave, with the view of Jesus as liberator, would
give rise to liberation theology. Johnson outlines six basic characteristics of liberation theology:
recognition of an oppressed group; action on behalf of justice; our relatedness to one another; use of
social analysis; changing the unjust situation and the vision that the reign of God is already arriving.11
Johnson then highlights the three part method of liberation theology: the oppressive situation is
recognized; then the Christian tradition is analyzed for what may have contributed to the tradition and
finally the Christian tradition is searched for elements that would yield a new understanding and a new
practice that would be liberating.12

The First Battle of Bull Run Essay examples
THE FIRST BATTLE OF BULL RUN
BY COLLINS MCKAY
On July 21, 1861, two armies, one confederate and the other Union, prepared for the first major land
battle of the Civil War. In 1861 Abraham Lincoln was sworn in as President.
The Southern states had seceded and the South had fired on and captured Fort Sumter on April 12
1861.
After the Fort Sumter battle, both the North and the South began preparing for war by raising armies.
This was done quickly and neither side spent much time training the troops. Both sides also did not
know what a long and terrible war was ahead.
The first Battle of Bull Run took place near Manassas Junction, Virginia, an important railroad
junction twenty five miles west of Washington, D.C. Bull Run ... Show more content on

General McDonnell attempted to flank the Confederates by moving north and west, and began several
attacks on the Confederates right flank and the center of the Confederate line at Henry House.
As the battle wore on, the superior numbers of the Union Army began to wear down the Confederate
lines. At a critical point, as the Confederates began to fall back, an officer pointed out a line of rebels
who were still strong. He said, look at Jackson s men standing like a stone wall . He was talking about
General T. J. Jackson s men. Jackson would from then on be known as Stonewall Jackson , one of the
most famous of all Confederate generals. This seemed to inspire the Southern troops at Henry House
who held their ground and began to beat back the Union forces.
On the west flank the Union troops who had been moving slowly were pushed back by General
Johnston s troops who arrived in the afternoon by railroad. Civilian spectators had come out from
Washington to watch the battle. They thought it would be like a sporting event. As the battle turned
against the North, they panicked and the one road back to Washington became clogged with
overturned carriages and wagons. The Union retreat had turned into panic by early evening.
In the end, the North had suffered 2,896 men killed wounded or missing; the South had lost 1,982. The
South had won the big victory in the first major

Kurt Cobain s Life
Drugs have taken and changed the lives of many, even people who seem invincible, our idols. Many
famous musicians and actors have lost their lives due to drugs or alcohol. Three examples would be
Kurt Cobain, Scott Weiland, and Layne Staley, three of the most famous musicians of their time. Each
of their lives were taken by drugs, and some recently. They were all born in the same year of 1967, but
all died at different times. Kurt Cobain, singer and guitarist of Nirvana, was 27 when his heroin
addiction caused him to take his own life. Throughout his teenage years, he experimented with
prescription drugs and marijuana. He began using a drug known as Hash in 1984, which was popular
in his hometown of Aberdeen, Washington. In the summer of 1986, just two years after Kurt first tried

His death is still shrouded in mystery, whether it was a real suicide, or a murder covered up to look
like to a suicide. Either way, his death silenced the people of his generation. He was an inspiration to
millions of people across the world, and his death came as a shock. Scott Weiland, former singer for
Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, struggled with substance abuse throughout his whole life.
When he was young, he showed an interest in singing. In high school he formed his first band Mighty
Joe Young, which eventually became Stone Temple Pilots. They were one of the biggest bands of the
90 s. Scott first got into his drug habits in high school, and was sent to rehab when his parents found
drugs in his room. In 1995, after his band s second album release, he was arrested for drug possession.
This brush with the law did little to quell Weiland s appetite for drugs (Scott Weiland Biography). At
one point, he lived in a Los Angeles hotel, shooting up heroin with Kurt Cobain s wife, Courtney
Love. Weiland s personal addictions impacted his band s ability to tour in 1996, so he subsequently
parted ways with the band for a time.

Mr. Aux Go Better Than Everyone Else Meaning
A Dark Laugh: Roger Brown s Mr. Gotta Go Faster Than Anyone Else
Mr. Gotta Go Faster Than Anyone Else represents the simple yet dark humor of the late Roger Brown.
Brown painted this piece in 1986 during his first years of living in California after moving away from
Chicago. Brown was believed to be a social commentator by many in the late 1980 s because of the
way his art correlated with the events of the time, but he argues these claims by saying that his
artwork is simply a visual agenda (Calamities Conform to the Canvas). The artistic style of Brown
utilizes both bright and dull colors as well as simple figures to convey his messages and the reason he
refutes the claims of being a social commentator is to add fire to the conversation ... Show more

Gotta go Faster Than Anyone Else is also a very important detail that requires attention. In 1986 when
the painting was made, Ronald Reagan was the president of the United States. Reagan was known to
not be a supporter of the Woman s Rights movement and it was the first time since the 1960 s that
many governing agencies that had to do with woman s rights were closed. Brown put Mr in the title of
the piece because it was mostly men who were chasing their dreams and being supported during the
era. The woman in the bright red car is screaming at the man because he was the one who was in
charge at the wheel and the one who made decisions between the two. Brown made the title of his
piece a striking one by making it carry an important meaning with the state of woman in America at

Who Is Brutus Use Of Flattery In Julius Caesar
The final years of the Roman Republic were a time plagued with political deception and secret
alliances. Numerous political figures of the time employed deceptive tactics. Antony, with his ever
present utilization of rhetoric, drove the Roman populace into a frenzy of rage aimed towards Brutus.
And Decius, using his knowledge of Caesar s vulnerability to flattery, turned him against his wife and
lured him to his assassination. The intense struggle for political power yielded to no moral boundaries.
In the midst of all of this chaos and evil, one man stands out above the rest. Cassius is the most
manipulative character because he uses flattery, counterfeit letters, and alleged signs from the gods
that he does not believe in to bend the other conspirators to his will. ... Show more content on

Brutus that has been spoken by many of the best [respected people] in Rome who Have wished that
noble Brutus had his eyes (Shakespeare 1.2.61,64). Cassius is suggesting that Brutus would make a
better leader than Caesar if only he could see his own merits as the Roman people do. These deceitful

Aicpa s Code Of Professional Conduct Analysis
Holly, your thread aligns with much of what Jacob and I also covered. Ironically, such agreement is
alignment with I Corinthians 1:10 which says, Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be
perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment (King James Version). Job well
done! The AICPA s Code of Professional Conduct not only establishes principles for accounting
professionals, but the code also sets boundaries for accounting professionals interactions with the
public, their clients, and also their colleagues (AICPA, 2014, p. 5). Within these principles is the topic
of integrity which encompasses courage, honesty, trust, and confidentiality (Keller, Smith, K., Smith,

feature of integrity. Part of confidentiality includes one being able to control his tongue. In noting this,

In the bible it tells us this, When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were
born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their
wives any they chose. Then the Lord said, My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his
days shall be 120 years. The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the
sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty
men who were of old, the men of renown (Genesis,6). This is where the Lord talks about the
Nephilim, they were hybrids, half human and half demon. When Satan was casted down to Earth, his
followers were thrown down with him. They then mixed their DNA with the DNA of a human,
creating what is known as the Nephilim. And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of
great stature, who had six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot, twenty four in number, and

Olmec Culture Research Paper
The Olmec culture is one of the oldest cultures in Mesoamerica. The Olmecs were known as one of
the oldest cultures, as well as, the mother culture of mesoamerican cultures and were estimated to be
around from 1000 to 500 BC. The name Olmec comes from the Mexica cultures that came after. It was
not the name that the people of this culture named themselves, the name they called themselves has
been lost through history. The Olmec culture was the culture that produced rubber, and had great
workmanship in which they were able to create jade masks, celts, ornaments and tools using different
materials such as gold. This culture was able to develop and stay alive througout the ages for so long
due to the fertility of their land which came from their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Olmec mask is not the size of a present day human face, but rather much smaller, and could be
compared to the size of the palm of an adults hand. The color is a deep green with a tint of grey, which
has come from the aging of the stone. While there is evidence of cremation in the mesoamerican
cultures, the color of this mask proves that the mask was not on the body during the cremation
process, but rather after the ashes were put into the body bundle. In order to create these masks, the
olmecs would carve the faces into the rock that would be used as the mask. To create the mouth, eyes
and other deep incised areas, they used a technique in which they would attach a string to two pieces
of wood and move in a saw like motion in order to heat and shape the stone. There is no negative
space evident in the masks such as no holes for the eyes, nose, or mouth, only in the earlobes for
attachment to the corpse bundle. When analyzing the iconography of the Olmec mask, the viewer
must question the symbolic meaning and the use of conventionalized imagery. Although the symbolic
meaning was not explicitly stated in any of the ancient codecies or texts, it is assumed that the mask
was a way to give the deciesed a face for what could be the afterlife, or simply to identify the bundle.
On the other hand, the repeated use of certain aspects in the mask such as the closed, squinting

Musculoskeletal Disorder Case Study
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) affect the back, neck, shoulders and upper limbs, but can also
affect the lower limbs. They may result from more than one of these tissues. Causes Most work related
MSDs develop over time. Normally they do not have a single cause: they are often caused by a
combination of several factors. Among the physical causes and risk factors related to work
organization include: Handling loads , especially when you rotate or bend your back; Repetitive
movements or that require an effort; Taking improper or static postures; Vibration, low light or work

The Social Security Act ( Ssa ) Of President Franklin D....
Debates over Social Security have been ongoing since its inception in 1935 until today. The trend
seems to be toward an increasing percentage of the American public, across party and demographic
lines, in favor of strengthening Social Security funding, and a willingness to pay more to preserve and
even improve benefits. However, what is not clear is whether Americans favor privatization of Social
Security because of fears that the Social Security Trust Fund is living on borrowed time.
The Social Security Act (SSA) of 1935 was drafted during the Great Depression as part of President
Franklin D. Roosevelt s New Deal. The SSA was an attempt to limit what were seen as dangers in the
American life, including old age, poverty, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2003, Congress added a prescription drug benefit to Medicare (Edwards 431, 540). Since the Social
Security Act was signed into law, many politicians have advocated for privatizing Social Security,
even though Americans are in favor of Social Security and wish to strengthen the program.
The American public strongly supports Social Security, across party and demographic lines. A January
2013, National Academy of Social Insurance (NASI) study, Strengthening Social Security: What Do
Americans Want?, found that Americans overwhelmingly support Social Security and are willing to
pay more to preserve and improve benefits. With more than 59 million or 18% of Americans receiving
Social Security benefits, Americans recognize Social Security as a critical program. A large majority
of Americans say they do not mind paying Social Security taxes because of the stability and security
the benefits provide. These findings hold true across party lines, those polled included 87% of
Democrats, 72% of Republicans, and 81% of Independents. 73% of Americans are also willing to pay
for Social Security because they value it for themselves and their families. 85% of Americans say
Social Security is more important than ever to ensure that the elderly and disabled have dependable
income. These views cut across age and income lines: those agreeing include 81% Generation X and

The Rise Of Silicon Valley
Silicon Valley has always been a place of constant economic change. Huge booms and then sudden
busts are not only common, but they re almost predictable. It s becoming easier to observe and
evaluate past crashes and use this knowledge to predict future busts in the valley. The huge jump in
the number of tech startups recently has been attracting an increasing amount of attention from
investors who are looking for make it big. Due to this as well as other factors, these companies are
becoming overvalued, causing a tech bubble that will soon burst.
The economic history of Silicon Valley is far from smooth. The Valley has survived the outrageous
fortunes of the military industrial complex in the 70s, the silicon wafer business in the 80s, and the
personal computer in the 90s, which are all either dead, gone overseas, or now established and boring.
One of the more famous events, the dot com boom in the late 1990s to 2000s, left many with a feeling
of helplessness for the future of the valley. The sudden growth of the internet resulted in venture
capitalists seeing record setting growth as dot com companies experienced abnormal rises in their
stock prices and therefore moved faster and with less caution than usual, thus resulting in a tech
bubble that burst, leaving investors floundered.
One thing is for certain, if there is one thing that Silicon Valley is good at, it s recovering from hard
times like these. It seems that no matter how hard of a fall it might take, it s able

The Great Depression And Economic Depression
The Great Depression was a worldwide economic depression that took place during the 1930s. The
timing of the Great Depression varied across nations; in most countries it started in 1929 and lasted
until the late 1930s. It was the longest, deepest, and most widespread depression of the 20th century.
In the 21st century, the Great Depression is used as an example of how far the world s economy can
decline.
The depression originated in the United States, after a fall in stock prices that began around September
4, 1929, and became worldwide news with the stock market crash of October 29, 1929 . Between 1929
and 1932, worldwide GDP fell by an estimated 15%. By comparison, worldwide GDP fell by less than
1% from 2008 to 2009 during the Recession. Some economies started to recover by the mid 1930s.
However, in many countries, the negative effects of the Great Depression lasted until the beginning of
World War II.
The Great Depression had devastating effects in countries both rich and poor. Personal income, tax
revenue, profits and prices dropped, while trade plunged by more than 50%. Unemployment in the
U.S. rose to 25% and in some countries rose as high as 33%.
Cities all around the world were hit hard, especially those dependent on industry. Construction was
halted in many countries. Farming communities and rural areas suffered as crop prices fell by
approximately 60%. Facing plummeting demand with few sources of jobs, areas dependent on
primary sector industries such as

Introduction
Six Thinking Hats is a critical and creative thinking training course from Edward de Bono that helps
individuals and organizations throughout the world become more effective, innovative thinkers.
Six Thinking Hats is a flexible and easy to use thinking process that leads to amazing results with
innovative thinking, improved communication, and reduced meeting time.
In traditional thinking we constantly find ourselves in conflict. Each side seeks to criticize the other
point of view. The Six Thinking Hats method, however, encourages Parallel Thinking, where everyone
explores all sides of an issue at the same time.
In parallel thinking, confrontation is replaced by a cooperative exploration of the subject. It ... Show

The fungi isolated from the strawberries, after it grew in a petri dish was thick white fungi, it had a
dark ring around the edges. The petri dishes held moisture and the fungi stuck to top of the petri dish.
The first isolated petri dish had solid black circular solids formed in the petri dish. The picture group
on the left is of the black spots under a microscope. The one in the middle is of my subcultures of the
fungi from the strawberries I put the fungi I isolated on and in. The photo on the right is the black

Discussion: Discuss why you think you got the results you got. Were they expected results?
My results were not what i expected, the results I got were a different fungus than I originally Isolated.
The fungus were similar in color and how they grew but the end result was very different looking.
Both the fruits I inoculated were the same fungus, and the first fungi inoculation and subculture were
the same. The fruit had gotten contaminated before I covered them and it changed my results. If I
could do this lab Again I would choose a different fruit and would make sure I was more prepared for
getting the inoculations together and sanitized. I would still do two different inoculations to have a
better chance of successfully getting the same fungi. The next thing I would inoculate the same fruit
with the isolated fungus to try and get the same fungus the second time

My Own Guide On Conquering Love
Love is a rigorous journey, with no real rules on how to endure it. After reading many experts thoughts
on love, I have come to realize that it generally falls into three categories: how to find a casual
relationship, how to take that relationship to a deeper level, and how to deal with a breakup. With the
help of various sources of modern and ancient times, I have constructed my own guide on conquering
love.
The first, and most important, step to finding someone you re interested in is to always be mentally
ready to pick up. Experts believe this is an important step because you will run into attractive people
everywhere. It will happen while at the theatre, races, circus, beach, or even out walking. Social media
websites such as Tinder or Hinge, or social events such as, alumni meet ups, restaurants, bars, parties,
grocery stores, out on biking trails, and kickboxing class are also ways to meet new people.
The kickboxing reference brings us to my next step: take care with how you look. Your hair should be
professionally cut, your nails clean and proper, your nostrils hair free, and your breath shouldn t smell.
Yes, you re trying to look your best, but don t try and conceal your defects. Despite what others may
say, it s unrealistic. Included in your first impression appearance is your body language; it makes you
seem approachable. People are typically attracted to confidence, so giving your prey the look, or
flashing a bright smile can really boost your level

Overseas Animators Job Growth
The job growth of Multimedia Artists and Animators is growing at a very slow rate, due to the
animation companies and studios hiring artists and animators who work overseas. For those who are
not exactly sure what a Multimedia Artist is or does. A Multimedia Artist/Animator is an artist who
creates [2 Dimensional and 3 Dimensional] animation and visual effects for television, movies, video
games, and other forms of media (www.bls.gov). This is one of the few drawbacks in this occupation.
American animation companies and studios hire overseas animators, since overseas animators work
for a much lower price than American animators. This means the companies and studios save money.

animation market and to be in competition with American animators, and/or because, like American
animators, overseas animators also enjoy exercising their creativity, talents, computer animation skills
and fascinating story telling skills when it comes to animated movies and video games (Crosby). Also,
another reason why the animation studios and companies are hiring overseas animators could possibly
be the fact that 56.9% of animators [are] self employed (Collegefortn.org). By animators adapting to
this effective solution, American self employed animators, who want to begin their animation
companies and studios, can come into collaboration with aspiring animators, employing teams of
fellow animators. This would bring more jobs and opportunities to American animators. And lastly,
the reason why overseas animators are hired by American animation studios and companies, is due to
the fact that in the past decades animation studios have been sending unfinished animation work to
overseas animators to complete. As said by Tom Crosby, in an article of How Stuff Works titled How
Outscoring Works , This isn t a new trend. It started decades ago when Hollywood studios began
sending pre production work to lowered priced, where the work was polished and completed. Once the
independent animators establish their own businesses and collaborate with their fellow aspiring
animators, who embrace this effective solution, there wouldn t be any unfinished artwork to send to
overseas animators. Since all of the artwork would be completed on due time, by the animators of the
companies, there would not be any uncompleted or discarded artwork to send to overseas animators.
This would bring about a faster pace in the job growth rate of this

Tiger Woods Essay
Tiger Woods was born with the name Eldrick Woods on December 30, 1975, in Orlando, Florida.
Early on, Tiger s parents, Earl and Kultilda Woods, introduced their only child to the sport he has
come to dominate, giving him a sawed off putter to practice with as soon as he could stand up on his
own. At the age of 8, he won the first of six Optimist International Junior World Titles. After perhaps
the most remarkable amateur career ever he won the U.S. Junior Amateur Championships in 1991,
1992, and 1993, and the U.S. Amateur title in 1994, 1995, and 1996 and two years at Stanford
University, where he won the NCAA title, Woods turned pro in the summer of 1996.

He also shattered the previous single season winnings record by nearly $3 million, making him the
first player ever to break the $6 million mark with $6.6 million.
True to form, Woods only got better in 2000, when he capped off an impressive first half of the year
by winning his third major, the 2000 U.S. Open, in Pebble Beach, California. The No.1 ranked player
in the world, Woods outclassed the competition by a record margin, winning the tournament by 15
strokes and breaking the standard for a major tournament set by Tom Morris at the 1862 British Open.
In July 2000, Woods won the British Open, becoming at 24 the youngest player ever to win all four
major titles: the PGA Championship, the Masters, the U.S. Open, and the British Open. A month later,
he successfully defended his 1999 title at the PGA Championship in a playoff victory, becoming only
the second player (after Ben Hogan in 1953) to win three major titles in one year. He won the
Canadian Open, his fifth tournament of the summer (out of the seven that he played), in September.
Off the links, Woods was involved in a lengthy controversy in 2000 regarding his filming of a Buick
commercial during the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) six month strike against advertisers. In December,
the SAG slapped Woods with a $100,000 fine (though several of its members were said to have
wanted him kicked out of the union entirely).

  • 6. The Negative Effects Of Adulthood In Childhood For most of the population of the world, childhood is filled with countless invaluable memories. There are ordinary events such as attending numerous friends birthday parties or hoping for as many snow days as possible. One may remember specific memories, in particular attending a local carnival or the day they received their favorite stuffed animal. For a smaller portion of the population, childhood is tainted by memories of an emotionally and/or physically abusive parent. As troubling as those memories can be, experience in dealing with such adversity might be useful as one venture into adulthood. Adults who have experienced significant childhood stress might display a hostile personality, meaning they distinguish a threat in situations that others view as normal. It s suggested that the script can be overturned, or at least altered. Recent studies have shown that individuals who have chaotic childhoods, exhibit an increased ability to observe and monitor threats and remember negative events. Thus allowing the adult to gain a new perspective on life. One can assume, under the right conditions, adults from stressful childhood situations would perform better than expected at gathering information and assessing people s reputations. • 7. How Traditional Anishinaabe Medicine Can Be Integrated... When the culture of the Anishinaabe, or Ojibwe, people were suppressed when colonization began in the Americas, their medical practices were as well. In an effort to preserve the Ojibwe culture as well as establish effective treatment options for people living on reservations as well as members of Ojibwe communities, Anishinaabe cultures should be incorporated into the clinical setting. When working with different cultures in a health environment, it is necessary to have an understanding of that culture as different perspectives and values will have an effect on their medical care. Therefore, an understanding of Anishinaabe medicinal practices is crucial when considering the prevention and treatment of illnesses in the Anishinaabe community. Since traditional methods are not practiced in American healthcare, how information is perceived in the population as well as inclination to comply with different treatments are affected. How traditional practices can be incorporated in a Western healthcare setting as well as the challenges that exist in doing so will be evaluated. To begin to assess the different ways that traditional Anishinaabe medicine can be integrated into Western medicine, how the Anishinaabe culture was affected by colonization must be discussed. The cause of an illness is fundamental to determine how to treat it. There are two kinds of illnesses that differ in how they are treated as well as their etiology. • 9. The Reflection Of Human Nature, By Seamus Heaney Firstly, Heaney uses the structure of the poem to tell us about human nature. For example, the slow, familiar rhythm of the iambic pentameter creates a reflective tone where the voice in the poem looks back at the lessons learnt in the past. This shows how we glamorize the past even our bad experience so we can learn from them. The two uneven stanzas with gently half rhyming couplets add a softness and a musical lilt without imposing too much rigidity. This also reflects the romantic memory and romanticised view of nature that we apply on our past experience however gruesome. Plus, by using lists and multiple points of enjambment Heaney give the poem a childlike and excited tone. This conveys the image not only of children and their views on the world but how we look into the past and become children again recalling the events that faced our young selves. Finally the long first stanza filled with the collection of the good, ripe fruit is destroyed quickly from the short, second stanza full of rot and decay. I believe that this suggest that however much we we gather and hoard our wealth will always deteriorate, often though death. This emphasise how horrible the human nature of hoarding is, as it will always end in hardship. Heaney also describes human nature though caesuras which are scattered throughout the poem. For example,a caesura at the end of lust for picking makes the reader linger on the word picking , stressing the action. This conveys the message that It is not the blackberries but the activity that they lust after. This first caesura of joy and happiness is then juxtaposed by the next cesura Like a plate of eyes. . This is a disconcerting image that matches the earlier images of flesh and clots. It is also as if they are staring at him accusing him of hoarding all the fruit that he won t be able to eat, plus the fact that he wrote it shows he is remorseful for his greed. The contrast between these two caesuras suggests the message that it is human nature that our greed will always take over the joy of the activity. The seven deadly sins are scattered throughout the poem and helps Heaney describe human nature. Firstly, Heaney say that after we pick the fruit we hoarded them in the barn. ... Non objective painting could form and colour, free form all representational aim, be articulated into a language of symbolic discourse. 3.Art is a construction of concrete elements of form and colour which become expressive in the process of synthesis or arrangement: the form of the work of art is in itself the content, and whatever expressiveness there is in the work of art originates with the form. 4. The whole purpose of this alternative principle was to escape from the internal necessities of our individual existence and to create a pure art, free from human tragedy , impersonal and universal. 5.The painter who was to develop to its logical extreme the objective concept of abstraction was Piet Mondrian (or Mondriaan) 6. Upon crashing each of these waves paved the way for the next. As one reviewer notes: The still abstract recovery of the humanity of Jesus opened the way to a consideration of the concrete history and story of Jesus of Nazareth. Attentiveness to the specific ministry of Jesus led to a new appreciation of the contemporary context and challenge of discipleship. Sensitivity to the actual experience of following Jesus today raised new questions about the meaning of salvation in Christ for the poor, for women, for people of color. The everexpanding encounter of world religions posed anew the issue of Christ as universal savior.10 The third wave, with the view of Jesus as liberator, would give rise to liberation theology. Johnson outlines six basic characteristics of liberation theology: recognition of an oppressed group; action on behalf of justice; our relatedness to one another; use of social analysis; changing the unjust situation and the vision that the reign of God is already arriving.11 Johnson then highlights the three part method of liberation theology: the oppressive situation is recognized; then the Christian tradition is analyzed for what may have contributed to the tradition and finally the Christian tradition is searched for elements that would yield a new understanding and a new practice that would be liberating.12 ... After the Fort Sumter battle, both the North and the South began preparing for war by raising armies. This was done quickly and neither side spent much time training the troops. General McDonnell attempted to flank the Confederates by moving north and west, and began several attacks on the Confederates right flank and the center of the Confederate line at Henry House. As the battle wore on, the superior numbers of the Union Army began to wear down the Confederate lines. At a critical point, as the Confederates began to fall back, an officer pointed out a line of rebels who were still strong. He said, look at Jackson s men standing like a stone wall . He was talking about General T. J. Jackson s men. Jackson would from then on be known as Stonewall Jackson , one of the most famous of all Confederate generals. This seemed to inspire the Southern troops at Henry House who held their ground and began to beat back the Union forces. On the west flank the Union troops who had been moving slowly were pushed back by General Johnston s troops who arrived in the afternoon by railroad. Scott Weiland, former singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, struggled with substance abuse throughout his whole life. When he was young, he showed an interest in singing. Brown painted this piece in 1986 during his first years of living in California after moving away from Chicago. Brown was believed to be a social commentator by many in the late 1980 s because of the way his art correlated with the events of the time, but he argues these claims by saying that his artwork is simply a visual agenda (Calamities Conform to the Canvas). Numerous political figures of the time employed deceptive tactics. Antony, with his ever present utilization of rhetoric, drove the Roman populace into a frenzy of rage aimed towards Brutus. And Decius, using his knowledge of Caesar s vulnerability to flattery, turned him against his wife and lured him to his assassination. The intense struggle for political power yielded to no moral boundaries. In the midst of all of this chaos and evil, one man stands out above the rest. In the bible it tells us this, When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the Lord said, My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years. The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown (Genesis,6). This is where the Lord talks about the Nephilim, they were hybrids, half human and half demon. When Satan was casted down to Earth, his followers were thrown down with him. They then mixed their DNA with the DNA of a human, creating what is known as the Nephilim. The Olmecs were known as one of the oldest cultures, as well as, the mother culture of mesoamerican cultures and were estimated to be around from 1000 to 500 BC. The name Olmec comes from the Mexica cultures that came after. It was not the name that the people of this culture named themselves, the name they called themselves has been lost through history. The Olmec culture was the culture that produced rubber, and had great workmanship in which they were able to create jade masks, celts, ornaments and tools using different materials such as gold. The Olmec mask is not the size of a present day human face, but rather much smaller, and could be compared to the size of the palm of an adults hand. The color is a deep green with a tint of grey, which has come from the aging of the stone. While there is evidence of cremation in the mesoamerican cultures, the color of this mask proves that the mask was not on the body during the cremation process, but rather after the ashes were put into the body bundle. In order to create these masks, the olmecs would carve the faces into the rock that would be used as the mask. To create the mouth, eyes and other deep incised areas, they used a technique in which they would attach a string to two pieces of wood and move in a saw like motion in order to heat and shape the stone. There is no negative space evident in the masks such as no holes for the eyes, nose, or mouth, only in the earlobes for attachment to the corpse bundle. When analyzing the iconography of the Olmec mask, the viewer must question the symbolic meaning and the use of conventionalized imagery. Although the symbolic meaning was not explicitly stated in any of the ancient codecies or texts, it is assumed that the mask was a way to give the deciesed a face for what could be the afterlife, or simply to identify the bundle. By animators adapting to this effective solution, American self employed animators, who want to begin their animation companies and studios, can come into collaboration with aspiring animators, employing teams of fellow animators.
