Scly1 Past Papers
SCLY1 (Old Specification) Past Exam Questions Although June 2016 will be a new specification and
exam structure much of the material you have learnt in families and households applies to the new
exam. Below are examples of questions taken from the old exam papers that you should practice
writing plans for as they are still relevant. However there are a few key differences: * The question
you will answer will be worth 20 marks not 24 marks. * You will have 30 minutes to write a 20 mark
answer. * The essays will consist 4 paragraphs and a conclusion containing new information. How to
use this document: * Use the extract from the mark scheme and examiners advice to create essay plans
of the questions. * You may not have heard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the examiner s report: Many answers demonstrated a significant amount of sociological
knowledge, but failed to take note of the wording of the question, and therefore were unable to apply
the knowledge appropriately. For example, many students ignored the reference to today and instead
launched into a lengthy account of the nature of childhood in the Middle Ages, and subsequently
struggled to focus on the 6 of 8 question. Other students were able to discuss the way in which
childhood was socially constructed and the changing nature of childhood, without explicitly
discussing whether childhood today is being lost. More focused answers tended to use Postman and
Palmer to suggest that childhood was being lost, contrasting these with the views of Opie and Pilcher
that childhood remains distinct. Many made reference to the mass media without necessarily tying it
to the specifics of the question; similarly, others referred to the commercialisation of childhood
without linking this explicitly to the question. Many students compared various cross cultural models
of childhood, and in some cases contrasted these with the experience of childhood in modern
industrial societies. Relatively few students were able to differentiate between stages of childhood, or
address gender or class differences. Overall only a minority of answers retained their focus on the
issue of whether childhood is being lost in society today. June 2014 Examine the reasons for

Research Paper On Christian Worldview
A Christian worldview provides sets of ideologies, beliefs through which a Christian views the world
and interacts with it. It is also called biblical worldview. Christian values are provided in the Bible.
The demand for increase in healthcare professionals are increasing and the quality of care might get
compromised. The Christian worldview provides to prioritize an individual as a person and to heal
them not just medically but also spiritually through prayers. Healthcare needs to be provided with
compassion since Jesus himself mentioned as you did it to one of the least of my brothers, you did it to
me . Hence biblical worldview provides insights that Christians should be involved in providing high
quality, low cost health care to those

Do Viruses Enter Other Living Things
According to scientists, life is a significant thing, a wonderful and magnificent discovery of science.
In order to determine life, scientists had came up with multiple criteria to determine life, such as
metabolism, homeostasis, growth and development etc.
So in this case, animals and plants are life, because they have growth and development, and they
maintain their homeostasis. When we look around us, we see lots of things that might be a life, or not,
but when there are things we can t see , we uses these criteria and their functions to see whether or not
if they are alive, such as viruses. Viruses are infectious agents(which creates disease) which replicates
only inside of living cells of other organisms, it can infect all types of life ... Show more content on

There are debates going on about whether viruses reproduce or not, since this how each generation of
life carries on, by reproducing.
Viruses copies themselves, but since they don t have any tools of their own, viruses enter other living
cells and uses their tools to copy their own viruses, we can t say that this is reproducing since it is
copying and pasting the exact same virion, therefore, viruses cannot reproduce.
For a life to maintain its homeostasis, it must be made out of cell, and for what we know is that viruses
are not made of cell, they cannot control their internal contents or maintain their balance simply
because they do not have nuclei or organelles to keep monitoring their internal contents, and it is
important for any life to maintain homeostasis, let us be an example, our body temperature remains at
a comfortable stage of
36.6celsius, when we are not at that temperature, our body will control internal organs to get back to
that stage, or we will be too hot or too cold, it works the same with any life. I believe that viruses are
not alive because they do not have a cell structure which then means that they do not have control to
maintain their homeostasis, and they do not

The Past And Future
Interrogative Suggestibility: Remolding the Past to Shape the Future In the court of law, a confession
is both a white knight for the prosecution and a nail in the coffin for the defense. These confessions
validity often go unquestioned, and, once their statement has been penned, the accused s fate is usually
sealed before they enter the courtroom. Confessions are often generated through the interrogation
process, and recent research has shown that law enforcement officials have the ability to alter and
even plant a memory in a subject s mind through interrogative suggestibility, which is defined as the
extent to which, within a closed social interaction, people come to accept messages communicated
during formal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most popular and effective of these approaches is the supplementation of false information
into a scenario that the person being questioned was a part of (Wade, Green, and Nash 2010). If a
person witnessed an event and is forced to recollect said event, they will likely only remember the key
details. However, when asked to recollect on the finer aspect of the event, people will create false
memories in order to fill the gap (Gerrie, Belcher, and Garry 2006). This is evident by a recent
memory test in which subjects confidently but falsely remembered 17% of unseen information from
[an] event that they were shown multiple times and asked to recollect on it (Gerrie, Belcher, and Gary
2006 p. 689). Because it is evident that people will form their own memories regarding supplementary
information about an event they experienced, it is no stretch of the imagination that this fact can be
abused in order to form memories that suit someone else s narrative.
An accepted explanation for the induction of false memories is taken from a popular theory known as
the Fuzzy Trace Theory of FTT (Porter and Baker 2015). This theory suggests that there are two types
of memories processes: verbatim, which traces the exact aspects of an event, and gist traces, which
follow the semantics or the connotative elements. These suggestive techniques can be so effective that

OA Reflective Essay
Share with us your clinical experience of working with a patient using DMOADs
(viscosupplementation or Glucosamine and chondroitin). Please support or discount their use with
additional research and discuss. Osteoarthritis (OA) is a prevalent cause of chronic joint pain and
disability in the older adult. It commonly affects the knee resulting in the deterioration and injury of
the articular cartilage inducing joint pain, limitation of movement and reduction in the quality of life.
OA s financial burden is high, and treatment is directed towards alleviating pain. Conventional
medicines such as non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), including cyclooxygenase 2
inhibitors have adverse effects that can contribute to a serious medical condition. Nonetheless, there is
an alternative dietary supplement that can be used that claims to ease OA pain; these Nutraceuticals

My Dream Short Story
Last night I had the craziest dream. I went to fell asleep while watching The Gift . It was around
midnight when I fell asleep and that is when my weird dream occurred. I arrived at the carnival early
in the evening. I purchased my ticket for the ferris wheel, along with my sister, Clara. We proceeded to
wait in line. The line was about a 2 hour wait. We waited in the line, which felt like eternity. It was
finally our turn. We had both stepped onto the ferris wheel with caution. I had a bad fear of heights
and so did my sister. Clara set down her purple teddy bear next to her that she had just won in the ring
toss. As the ferris wheel began to turn, I pulled out my polaroid camera to take some pictures. I
snapped a picture of Clara and I at the very top of the ferris wheel. The picture came out of the camera
and I shook it to get it to dry faster. It actually came out pretty good. I slid the picture inside the pocket
on the teddybears t shirt. The t shirt was a pretty baby pink shirt with tiny white polka dots. Suddenly
the ferris wheel to rock back and forth. Clara and I started to panic. A man got on the loudspeaker We
seem to be having some technical difficulties, the ride will resume shortly. That is when I shot up out
of bed heavily breathing and sweating. That was a weird dream I said to myself. I got out of bed and
started getting ready for the day. My phone began to ring. It was my sister. I picked up my phone and I
answered. Hello? . Clara had just invited me to the carnival that is in town for the weekend. I agreed to
go with her. Later that day, I met up with her at the carnival. She embraced me in the biggest hug
when I saw her. I had not seen her in quite a while. We began walking around, talking and catching up.
She pointed to the giant ferris wheel, Lets go! I stopped in my tracks. I was a little scared because I
have a big fear of heights. She insisted I go with her. Sure, why not? I said. We waited in line which
did not take very long. We stepped onto the ferris wheel, as the man closed the door behind us, it
began to turn pretty quick. We got to the top of the ferris wheel and all of a sudden, it stopped. I
looked over at Clara. She had a worried look on her face. I didn t want to

A Summary On Data Confignancy
noindent Several existing studies employ simulations to explore the impact of node selfishness on
data delivery performance. The authors in cite{EffNonCoo 15} explore the impact of the nodes non
forwarding and partially forwarding actions on the performance of Epidemic, SnW, and Prophet
protocols in terms of the data delivery ratio and delay. The experimental results demonstrate that
DTNs tolerate a high percentage of non cooperative nodes (20 40% or even 60%) without too much
harm, even though they still utilize the other nodes resources to deliver their own messages.
Meanwhile, synthetic random mobility models are most vulnerable to less cooperation that implies
that DTNs are robust against the nodes non cooperative behavior. ... Show more content on

While the works above consider nodes social oblivious selfishness behavior, Bermejo textit{et al.}
cite{EmpiricalAlturistic 13} study human altruism in AppExp and WebExp applications with
respectively 800 and 737 nodes considering the nodes remaining battery level and social tie
information. The experiments show that nodes respectively exhibit 70% and 52% altruistic behavior
in AppExp and WebExp when a minor credit (1 dollar) is awarded. Meanwhile, the nodes are not
willing to relay data received from others when their remaining battery level is less than 10%. Xia
textit{et al.} cite{Sig4UDD 113} explore the impact of IS and SS nodes on social based routing
protocols under uncertain node cooperation. In particular, a signaling game approach (Sig4UDD) is
proposed where Bayesian Nash equilibrium and perfect Bayesian equilibrium are employed to analyze
the nodes one stage and multi stage interactions (Fig. ref{Sig4UDDScheme}). Meanwhile, a belief
system is established to help the nodes predict the type of their encounters and decide whether to
forward a message to them or not. The experimental results demonstrate that nodes in Sig4UDD can
effectively establish their beliefs based on their previous interactions that can decrease the
transmission cost significantly while improving the data delivery delay. Similar to cite{Sig4UDD

Similarities Between Japanese Education And North American...
Comparison of the North American and Japanese Educational Systems
The comparison between Japanese and North American educational systems is often used. The
Japanese system, along with other Asian cultures, places importance on the group and the
interdependence of its members (Cole Cole, 2001, p. 541). The North American model, in contrast,
focuses on the ideals of individuality and independence (Cole Cole, 2001, p.541). This contrast is due
to a conflicting cultural/social structure and outlook of the world. Japanese look at the development of
self as doubled sided: the inner self and the social or public self (Hoffman, 2000, p.307). Within the
Japanese education system, the teacher s goal is to develop and cultivate both layers. ... Show more

This follows the cultural theme of interconnectedness in contrast to independence. This theme is the
backbone to the Japanese educational and cultural system.
In contrast, the North American education system stresses the ideals of individualism. The aim of the
North American system is to socialize the children to become independent individuals, who have
relationships with whom they choose (Cole Cole, 2001, p.541). This ideal of individualism influences
the way educators approach learning. Children are encouraged to strive and pursue individual
potential and needs (Hoffman, 2000, p.302). Children spend a lot of time pursuing individual activities
alone during class time. The classroom is teacher centered in terms of its direction and authority.
Whereas the Japanese teacher relies on the social structure and peers, North American teachers have
authority to direct the class (Hoffman, 2000, p.304). This adult control is an external standard placed
on the child (Hoffman, 2000, p.306). The Japanese teacher relies on the inner standards within the
child and their fellow classmates to control the child (Hoffman, 2000, p.307). In situations, such as a
child acting out in class, North American teachers assert authority where as Japanese teacher s look to
group pressure to conform and control the child.

individuals stay in the army. There are two sets of ranks being Officer Ranks and Other Ranks.
Likewise to the police, the higher the rank is the more responsibility and authority they have. These
ranks show the army s structure also defining there role and responsibilities.
The first rank is the private rank which is what new recruits start at and is the lowest rank. The rank is
gained after the individual has completed their initial basic training. A private s main responsibility is
to carry out orders given to them by their superiors.

Sergeants take up the responsibility to command platoons of up to 35 troops whilst also helping senior
officers.
Next is the Staff/Colour Sargent rank which can be promoted to after around 14+ years of service after

Water Pollution And Its Effects On The Environment
Water covers almost 75% of the earth s surface and is undoubtedly our most precious natural resource
that exists on our planet today. There won t be any living organism on our planet without water. Water
Pollution occurs when a body of water is severely affected due to addition of large amount of
materials to the water.[Missouri Botanical Garden] Pollutions such as sewage and fertilizers contain
nutrients such as nitrates and phosphates. At high levels, nutrients can over stimulate the growth of
aquatic plants and algae. Excessive growth of these types of organisms consequently clogs our
waterways, use up dissolved oxygen as they decompose, and block light to deeper waters.[David
Krantz] This could be very harmful to aquatic organisms as it affects the respiration ability of fish and
other creatures of the sea. Pollution is also caused when silt and other suspended solids, such as soil,
washoff plowed fields, construction and logging sites, urban areas, and eroded river banks when it
rains.[David Krantz] Pollution in the form of organic material enters waterways in many different
forms as sewage, as leaves and grass clippings, or as runoff from livestock feedlots and pastures.
When natural bacteria and protozoan in the water break down this organic material, they begin to use
up the oxygen dissolved in the water. Many types of fish and bottom dwelling animals cannot survive
when levels of dissolved oxygen drop below two to five parts per million. When this occurs, it

Becoming A Court-Going Analyst Essay
To eliminate natural toxins that the skin absorb when testing hair, forensic scientists dissolve the

Neighborhood Planning Units were first established in 1974 as a way for citizens in the community to

GENESIS AND ANCIENT MYTHS OF THE NEAR EAST
When one approaches the biblical text, it is important to explore the cultural context in which the text
occurs. With regard to the Book of Genesis, it is important to examine the writing with other
contemporary works of similar geography and topics. The people of ancient Mesopotamia, where the
oldest civilizations originated, produced a number of stories of creation and natural occurrences. It is
important to note that many of the stories of the Sumerians, Akkadians and Hebrews began as oral
traditions as the events they depict predate writing, so it is difficult to date these works on the basis of
when these prehistoric myths were initiated. Comparison to writings contemporary to the people of
Israel, can offer a deeper understanding of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just as there existed beings outside of creation in the Enuma Elish, the Hebrew God was present prior
to the formation of the world. As the universe becomes defined in the following stages, the
development described in each of the stories show a resemblance in events and the order in which they
occurred. It is important to note that light existed, in both stories, independent of celestial bodies.
Next, in same order, the sky and ground are created, followed by luminaries or the sun, moon and
stars. The fact that the sequence of the creation stories is nearly identical can hardly be accidental
according to some scholars. Subsequently, man is created with elements of divinity, given the task of
working the soil . At the conclusion of each creation story, the deities rest from their work. While it is
necessary to refrain from exaggerating the influence found in these similarities, it is equally essential
to remain open to the understanding that these works emerged within a similar conceptual world .
Though many similarities in the creation stories of Genesis and the Enuma Elish, the divergences are
much more far reaching and significant . Unlike the gods of depicted in the Enuma Elish who were
coexistent and coeternal with the comic matter , the Hebrew God is transcendent and separate from the
substance of the cosmos, having Himself created it. While the Hebrew God exists in eternity past,

The Opposite Sex Is A Necessity
The opposite sex is a necessity in our lives. If we did not need them, none of us would be here right
now, literally. By nature, we need someone else in our lives, be it a male or female, and be it friends,
significant others, and family of the opposite sex. We need each other for company, support, and
contentment.
Men and women, on their own, are very strong individuals. They can be happy and have a fulfilling
life individually AT times, but not all the time. Single people go to clubs, they hook up and have one
night stands with their opposite sex. What does this behavior show? It shows that women have a need
for men, and men have a need for women. It shows they need each other s company, even if it is for a
couple of hours. Everyone needs company; loneliness is a very sad state to be in. Think about being
lonely, and automatically your face expression turns neutral or maybe it turns sad, it does not bring
happiness or fulfillment. Yes, sometimes one needs some alone time, but to making it a routine that
calls for misery. Even people that are part of the LBGT community need the opposite sex, maybe not
as a partner but as friends and family. When these people confess their attraction to the same sex, they
wish for their friends and family, male and female, to accept them. Living a happy and fulfilling life
with the opposite sex does not necessarily mean being with a boyfriend or girlfriend in the sense of
being in an intimate relationship. It means fathers,

Booesman s Monologue
Question one
Like the words in brackets suggest, Boesman in this monologue is angry and has an element of
aggressiveness. This monologue is recited at a very violent voice. The monologue however resembles
an irony as Boesman speaks so much about freedom that he claims to have and yet does not have at
all. He speaks of being free yet he does not have a place to rest his own head, to call his own nor to
even feel safe around. He speaks of freedom yet he always lives on the run for a Whiteman and they

The Moral Dilemma Of The Louisiana Purchase
The Moral Dilemma Of The Louisiana Purchase
President Thomas Jefferson faced many moral dilemmas during the process of deciding to purchase
the territory, the moral predicaments that president Thomas Jefferson faced was going against the
constitution, going in major debt to pay for the territory, and also faced many issues with foreign
policy almost exclusively between the countries Spain and France. President Jefferson was put in a
situation that no other leader of our young country had ever been in, and he stressed about breaking
his own moral code to make the correct decision for his nation. President Jefferson s major personal
moral dilemma was actually purchasing the territory of louisiana from the french. Jefferson was a
strong Democratic Republican. This party was founded by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, This
party was created in opposition of the federalist party which was led by Alexander Hamilton. The
Democratic Republican party believed that a strong central national government would deplete and
completely rid the rights of states. The party strongly disapproved of the national Bank Of The United
States stating that the bank was taking away power that belonged to the states. Among many of the
views of the Democratic Republican the strongest belief was to strictly abided by the constitution, so
when the opportunity arose to purchase the French owned territory, the constitution did not state
whether the government could or could not acquire any new land

Compare And Contrast The Astronauts In Apollo 11 And The...
Have you ever wondered why historians compare the astronauts in Apollo 11 and the Corpse of
Discovery? Almost 200 years ago, 35 men were sent on a long journey that lasted about two years.
This journey took place after the Louisiana purchase and soon made American history. Then, on July
16th,1969, three astronauts were sent up into space about to make American history. There were some
difficulties, but they successfully made it to the moon. These two topics may sound off, but if you
really think about it, they are similar in many ways. First of all, astronauts in Apollo 11 and Lewis had
to adapt to their new surroundings. Since they couldn t carry an Infinite amount of supplies, both
groups had to ration their food and water supply. Lewis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to be an astronaut, you need to have a degree in science and engineering. In fact, you must be
in top condition in order to go into space. You must be free from diseases, and you cannot depend on
drugs and alcohol. On the other hand, Lewis only picked men who were in the military. He did not pay
attention to their condition when he was choosing his men. However, his men had never been out
west. This was a big disadvantage because no one knew what could of been out there. On the other
hand, Neil Armstrong, one of the astronauts on Apollo 11, is an experienced astronaut. This was a
advantage for the other astronauts. In comparison, both of the groups were able to bring back some
amazing things. The astronauts on Apollo 11 were able to bring back lunar samples for scientists to
study. Lewis and Clark sent back plant samples and a prairie dog for Jefferson. In conclusion, the
Corpse of Discovery and Apollo 11 may sound different, but they have many similarities. Both of the
groups had trouble getting to their destination, but successfully made it without too much trouble. Like
Apollo 11, the men participating in the Corpse of discovery were specifically chosen. However, these
two topics had their differences. For example: While the men in Apollo 11 rode on rockets, Lewis and
his men had to walk or ride on boats. No matter how many differences

Sleepless in Seattle a Film Directed by Nora Ephrons
There are times in life when love is taken for granted. People fall in love for many different reasons,
some for money, some for convenience and others simply because their family approves of the
marriage. Then there are those who fall in love because they truly are in love and have found the love
of their life. Does that only happen once in a lifetime? Most believe so, but for some love can happen
more than once. They say that, People who have truly loved once are more likely to love again.

Annie s transition begins while she is driving in the car and a talk show comes on. She finds herself
totally consumed by a young boy who has lost his mother and his father who is so desperately
grieving. She listens to Jonah and Sam on the radio and is taken up in the moment. The writer uses
many words repeatedly in this film all of which are an indication to what is happening to the character.
As she is listening to Sam speak about meeting his wife for the first time, he says, I was just taking her
hand to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like ...magic. (IMDb) This word strikes a chord in her
because she has heard this word before, when her mother was speaking about meeting her father for
the first time. She is beginning to see a pattern. She mutters the word, Magic the same time Sam does.
The seed is planted and now will begin to grow. Sam sits on the bench with the phone next to his ear
and speaks to Dr. Fieldstone. Jonah has begun this conversation with his phone call into the radio
station, however now he sleeps on his father s lap. Sam continues to spill his heart out for all of
America to hear. Dr. Fieldstone asks Sam what was so special about his wife. He continues, Well, it
was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were supposed to be
together... and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her.

Edward Gibbon s Declaration Of The Reign
Edward Gibbon s declaration of the reign of the Five Good Emperors being the most happy and
prosperous time in the history of the human race bases its claims on what could be viewed as
superficial aspects of the empire. When studying the Roman Empire, it s difficult to not admire the
stunning works, such as the House of Fawn in Herculaneum or Hadrian s Villa. The wealth needed to
create such places indicates the prosperity within the empire during this time. Gibbons claimed
understanding on happiness and prosperity seem to have less to do with the personal lives of the

If you were a prisoner of war coming to see the Forum in attempts to assimilate into this most happy
and prosperous society, you were faced with images of your ancestors as captives. The forum catered
to a specific class of Roman citizens and did not act as a place where the average Roman man or
woman felt represented. In addition to the works of Trajan, Hadrian s Wall can also superficially
symbolize the happiness and prosperity of the Roman Empire as asserted by Gibbons. The emperor
Hadrian built Hadrian s Wall after returning from his visit to Britain. The construction of the wall was
an attempt by Hadrian to set up permanent borders for the Roman Empire and show the strength that
the Roman Empire had during the reign of Hadrian by doing so. The construction of the wall, while
showing strength and wealth, also can symbolize the empires struggle with its borders, and even more
so, citizenship. The wall itself symbolized the Roman Empire s tensions with the peoples surrounding
the empire. The wall showed how the empire needed a structural device to maintain some level of
peace within the empire. The idea of the reign of the Five Good Emperors being a time of prosperity
can also be understood when looking at the changing roles of women within the empire. Women
during this time period were treated differently than the woman before them. While it s difficult to

The Importance Of Minority Rights In America
America is the number 1 nation in the world! is a common phrase we hear time and time again.
American citizens, in my opinion, have a distorted view on how awesome our country is. America was
founded on the idea of freedom at least freedom for white men at the time. While we have grown and
made bounds for the rights of minorities like African Americans, Hispanics and women; there is still
room to grow. So many of our citizens feel disenfranchised by our government and that our
implemented democracy doesn t grant them the same rights as others. This is usually a feeling felt by
those in minority groups. Many in the majority don t realize that there are these discrepancies in our
democracy because it s not something that affects them. That is one of the obstacles, many turn a blind
eye to the injustices they see within our democracy because they do not want to get involved or they
want the status quo to stay intact. The majority s desire to stay on top in our country is a huge
influence in how those in the minority then view their abilities. Many minority members feel hopeless
and that despite speaking up a power shift to equality will never be attainable. There is a profound
lack of representation of minority groups in offices of power. As discussed in this class, there have
only even been eight African American US Senators, and only two currently in the Senate now. This
lack of representation harms minority youth because when they have grand dreams of changing the

He is considered by some people to be one of the most famous composers of the classical period. His
career grew with the development of classical style and forms, with the symphony, sonata, string
quartet, and other instrumental forms, in the moulding of which he played an important part. Joseph
Haydn was born in Rohrau in 1732, the son of a wheelwright, he trained as a chorister at St. Stephen s
Cathedral in Vienna, where he made an early living. He worked as a freelance musician, playing the
violin and the keyboard instruments, accompanying for singing lessons given by the composer

Among the operas from this period are Lo speziale, L infedelta delusa and II mondo della luna. Haydn
s job was to prepare the music, adapting or arranging it for the voices of the resident singers. In 1779
the opera house burnt down; Haydn composed La fedelta premiata for its reopening in 1781 (Boynick,
2). Until then his operas has largely been comic genres; his last two for Esterhaza, Orlando paladino
(1782) and Armida (1783), are mixed or serious genres (Boynick, 2). Haydn s reputation had now
grown and was international. Much of his music had been published in all the main European centres;
under a revised contract with the Esterhaza his employer no longer had exclusive rights to his music
(Boynick, 2).
His work in the 1780s included symphonies, piano trios, piano sonatas, and string quartets. His
influential op.33 quartets, issued in 1782, were said to be in a quite new, special manner: this is
sometimes thought to refer to the use of instruments or the style of thematic development, but could
refer to the introduction of Scherzos or mighty simply be an advertising device (Hughes, 36). More
quartets appeared at the end of the decade, op.50 was dedicated to the King of Prussia (often said to be

The Management Dilemma In The NCR Country Club ( NCRCC )
When it comes to the formulation of the management research questions, there is a need to follow a
hierarchy which determines the direction of acquiring a solution. Important to note is that a
management research seeks to investigate problems and follow a step by step procedure in finding the
respective solutions. On the other hand, managers have the task of providing scientific help in the
decision making process. Therefore, it is imperative for one to take into consideration the available
alternatives available to an organization as solutions. Subsequently, following a management research
question hierarchy will enable them to conduct an adequate evaluation. Considering the case of NCR
Country Club (NCRCC) the steps involved require us to establish the management dilemma, the
management question, the research question, the investigative question, the measurement question,
and the management decision (Schindler, 2001).
Management Dilemma
The management dilemma focuses on the issues that have resulted in the current problem of an
organization (Hicks, Dattero Galup, 2006). In particular, the common factors surround the
environment and how it has contributed to the problem. A management dilemma in the NCR Country
Club is the matter related to the satisfaction of the members and non members when it comes to the
provision of facilities such as a swimming pool, availability of superior dining services among other
issues (Schindler, 2001). For this reason, the members and

Although biopolitics is conventionally understood as positive and productive and supposed to be used
as a method to lead to benefits such as in doctrine, discipline, law, and policy, it often leads to racism
and discrimination (Prozorov 191). Although some governments use biopolitics as a way to manage

Psychodynamic Approach And The Existential Approach
Psychotherapy and counselling are inseparable. The effectiveness of a counselling program is not just
based on the connectedness and interaction between a therapist and a client, but also the framework of
the counselling approach in helping the client improving his mental health or overcoming personal
problems. There are an extensive number of psychotherapies developed by past researchers, with each
therapeutic concept offering unique contributions in understanding human behaviour and useful
implications for counselling practice (Bedi et al., 2011). Among these therapeutic approaches are the
psychodynamic approach and the existential approach. An example of existential approach
psychotherapy is the person centred therapy that was introduced by Carl Rogers in the 1940s. Person
centred therapy (PCT) focuses on the quality of the person to person therapeutic relationship; it places
faith and gives responsibility to the client in dealing with problems and concerns (Corey, 2009, p. 30).
On the other hand, for the psychodynamic approach, Sigmund Freud, the core founder of this
approach developed psychoanalysis. Psychoanalysis is a therapy aimed to treat mental disorder. It is a
set of techniques for treating the unconscious causes of mental disorders; as well as to explain the
underlying factors of how human personality and abnormality develop from childhood (Corey, 2009,
p. 30). This paper examines the similarities and differences between psychoanalytic therapy and

Father Of Confederation Research Paper
Who is a father, and more importantly, who is a Father of Confederation? A
Father, in a literal definition, is a man who gives care and protection to someone or something. George
Washington was such a man, responsible for his patriots in the fight against the British during the
American Revolution. Confederation, on the other hand, is when a group of people come together in a
coalition, or fight, while working together for a common cause. The lower class in France came
together in the French Revolution to fight against Louis XVI, and his intolerance towards them.
Therefore, Father of

across his great nation. Once again in 1885, friction broke out between the Metis and the Canadian

3.0 What is a lobby?
Every hotel, regardless of its size, must have a public lobby. The size of the lobby is largely
determined by the number of guest rooms as well as by the type of hotel that is on the architect s
drawing boards. It goes without saying that the larger the hotel, the larger the lobby. The lobby will
also have to be larger in a resort or convenient hotel. A resort hotel will require a large lobby because
guests will congregate there in the evening. A hotel catering to conventions needs a large lobby
because here again there is a constant gathering of conventioneers before they go off to lectures,
seminars, meetings, luncheons, and dinners. There is no rule of thumb to determine the size of a lobby.
One must proceed by making a careful study of similar types of hotels and arrive at decisions after
discussions with hotel operators and managers. A hotel lobby sets the mood for a hotel. This space,
more than any other, will create the first and usually the most lasting impression. Furnishings, color,

Why Did The Great Chicago Fire Occurred In 1871
The Great Chicago Fire occurred in 1871. The first spark of the fire began in a nearby family barn.
Uncontrolled, the blaze lasted a few days, burning a large part of the city. After the fire was put out,
Chicago saw a period of rapid growth and development. The Great Fire was a devastating event in

The Great Chicago Fire was a tragic event to happen in the city s history. While the cause of this
major fire is unknown, Chicago s wood buildings and dry summer made the fire much worse. There

How Thought Leadership Can Change Your Marketing Strategy
How Thought Leadership can Change your Marketing Strategy
Every business on the face of the planet has a marketing strategy. Whether this marketing strategy is
actually doing its job is another question, but at least one exists. For those looking for new ways to
improve their marketing strategy, one idea to consider is thought leadership marketing.
With thought leadership marketing, data is analyzed and ideas pondered until leaders are able to find
ways to maximize their marketing strategies. Instead of simply delving into the world of content
marketing, inbound marketing or SEO, for example, these leaders live in this world. Taking some
plays from their books will help us all become better thought leaders and ultimately better marketers.
What you re doing Wrong
The first thing that a thought leader will look at is what you are doing wrong when it comes to your
marketing campaign. For example, what does your content balance look like? Does it include any of
the following? One of the biggest mistakes that is commonly seen is that the content creation team
will create content that is too targeted towards an overly small group. What this does is eat into your
marketing budget, which will leave little room for other groups to enter the picture.
Also, a thought leader will take time to look at the quality of your content. Your content should be
valuable and consistent. It should also be high quality and not stuffed full of keywords. Another
mistake people tend to make is making

according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. Because of the potential seriousness of
diabetes and all its associated medical conditions, serious attention needs to be given to its prevention
especially in light of the emerging epidemic of type 2 diabetes in youth (Bastida, Cuellar Villas,
2001).

Consumer Driven Eugenics Research Paper
Introduction
Eugenics is the belief and practice of improving the human population. Its ugly reputation is known
throughout history as the practice that removes a human s right to make any choices over their own
bodies. Though it is an ancient practice, the idea was popularised by misinterpretations of The Origin
of Species by Charles Darwin. The idea of the sanctity of life was removed and Judeo Christian
morality was replaced with human morality. Society became aware of the struggle for existence and
started to class people into categories of fit or unfit. Many lost the right to choose to have offspring.
Hitler was influenced greatly by the early eugenics movement, sterilising thousands and killing
millions, in the name of human improvement. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can choose whether our children have disabilities; whether our children have our predetermined
features like how tall or how smart they are. Will these choices inhibit conditions for choice in the
future? Is consumer driven eugenics any better than the previous state mandated eugenics or is it just
as deadly? Designer babies and screening for disabilities have caused our social norms to shift as the
idea that some people were born to be a burden on the rest (American eugenics display, mid 1920 s)
grows, and parents will feel increasingly obligated to enhance their children above the normal species
functioning. Do we want to create a never ending genetic competition, forcing parents to abort
disabled babies and create genetically advanced children, which only the rich can afford to have; thus
creating a new socio economic divide built on genetics? Only the rich have the resources to make their
children the best genetically adapted to the environment, but will human improvement stop at biology,
or will it move us into an area of new cyborg super

Equine Herpesvirus
Equine herpesvirus, are DNA virus with linear double stranded belongs to Herpesviridae family. The
two most common types with major importance are Equine herpesvirus type 1 (EHV 1), which can
induce abortion, respiratory disease and neurologic disease; and Equine herpesvirus type 4 (EHV 4),
which causes only respiratory disease but also occasionally causes abortion. EHV 1 and EHV 4
members of varicellovirus genus in Alphaherpesvirinae subfamily and are endemic in equine
populations worldwide [1 3].
These viruses have a 145 to 150 kb genomic DNA and glycoproteins that are important for cell
attachment, entry and cell to cell spreading and induction of immune responses [3,4]. The common
characteristics between all herpesvirus infections are latency ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Latently infected animals are the major reservoirs of disease and frequent shedding of the virus from
this asymptomatic carriers cause spreads of virus to susceptible population [7,1,8,9].
Epidemiological studies, suggest that infection during the few early weeks or months after birth
occurs, generally before or after weaning, from adult mares that asymptomatically shed virus [10,6].
Techniques that used for the diagnosis of EHV infection including: Virus isolation as gold standard ,
serological tests, nucleic acid detection techniques (PCR). Several PCR based methods have been
developed for detection and identification of EHV 1 and EHV 4 DNA in aborted fetuses or nasal
swabs. PCR assays are frequently to in risks of carryover contamination, mainly when a large amount
of samples is included [6]. qPCR technology is offers a flexible, rapid than virus isolation, sensitive,
specific and quantitative method that provides a very useful diagnostic tool for infectious diseases
studies And valuable for screening large numbers of samples [11 14].The main target of this study is
to survey circulation of virus and possible source of infection in equine population in North East
district of Iran that have the highest equine population with high prevalence of

Below are examples of questions taken from the old exam papers that you should practice writing plans for as they are still relevant. However there are a few key differences: * The question you will answer will be worth 20 marks not 24 marks. * You will have 30 minutes to write a 20 mark answer. * The essays will consist 4 paragraphs and a conclusion containing new information. How to use this document: * Use the extract from the mark scheme and examiners advice to create essay plans of the questions. * You may not have heard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the examiner s report: Many answers demonstrated a significant amount of sociological knowledge, but failed to take note of the wording of the question, and therefore were unable to apply the knowledge appropriately. For example, many students ignored the reference to today and instead launched into a lengthy account of the nature of childhood in the Middle Ages, and subsequently struggled to focus on the 6 of 8 question. Other students were able to discuss the way in which childhood was socially constructed and the changing nature of childhood, without explicitly discussing whether childhood today is being lost. More focused answers tended to use Postman and Palmer to suggest that childhood was being lost, contrasting these with the views of Opie and Pilcher that childhood remains distinct. Many made reference to the mass media without necessarily tying it to the specifics of the question; similarly, others referred to the commercialisation of childhood without linking this explicitly to the question. Many students compared various cross cultural models of childhood, and in some cases contrasted these with the experience of childhood in modern industrial societies. Relatively few students were able to differentiate between stages of childhood, or address gender or class differences. Overall only a minority of answers retained their focus on the issue of whether childhood is being lost in society today. June 2014 Examine the reasons for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Christian worldview provides to prioritize an individual as a person and to heal them not just medically but also spiritually through prayers. • 4. Do Viruses Enter Other Living Things According to scientists, life is a significant thing, a wonderful and magnificent discovery of science. In order to determine life, scientists had came up with multiple criteria to determine life, such as metabolism, homeostasis, growth and development etc. So in this case, animals and plants are life, because they have growth and development, and they maintain their homeostasis. When we look around us, we see lots of things that might be a life, or not, but when there are things we can t see , we uses these criteria and their functions to see whether or not if they are alive, such as viruses. Viruses are infectious agents(which creates disease) which replicates only inside of living cells of other organisms, it can infect all types of life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are debates going on about whether viruses reproduce or not, since this how each generation of life carries on, by reproducing. Viruses copies themselves, but since they don t have any tools of their own, viruses enter other living cells and uses their tools to copy their own viruses, we can t say that this is reproducing since it is copying and pasting the exact same virion, therefore, viruses cannot reproduce. For a life to maintain its homeostasis, it must be made out of cell, and for what we know is that viruses are not made of cell, they cannot control their internal contents or maintain their balance simply because they do not have nuclei or organelles to keep monitoring their internal contents, and it is important for any life to maintain homeostasis, let us be an example, our body temperature remains at a comfortable stage of 36.6celsius, when we are not at that temperature, our body will control internal organs to get back to that stage, or we will be too hot or too cold, it works the same with any life. I believe that viruses are not alive because they do not have a cell structure which then means that they do not have control to maintain their homeostasis, and they do not ... • 5. The Past And Future Interrogative Suggestibility: Remolding the Past to Shape the Future In the court of law, a confession is both a white knight for the prosecution and a nail in the coffin for the defense. These confessions validity often go unquestioned, and, once their statement has been penned, the accused s fate is usually sealed before they enter the courtroom. Confessions are often generated through the interrogation process, and recent research has shown that law enforcement officials have the ability to alter and even plant a memory in a subject s mind through interrogative suggestibility, which is defined as the extent to which, within a closed social interaction, people come to accept messages communicated during formal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the most popular and effective of these approaches is the supplementation of false information into a scenario that the person being questioned was a part of (Wade, Green, and Nash 2010). If a person witnessed an event and is forced to recollect said event, they will likely only remember the key details. However, when asked to recollect on the finer aspect of the event, people will create false memories in order to fill the gap (Gerrie, Belcher, and Garry 2006). This is evident by a recent memory test in which subjects confidently but falsely remembered 17% of unseen information from [an] event that they were shown multiple times and asked to recollect on it (Gerrie, Belcher, and Gary 2006 p. 689). Because it is evident that people will form their own memories regarding supplementary information about an event they experienced, it is no stretch of the imagination that this fact can be abused in order to form memories that suit someone else s narrative. An accepted explanation for the induction of false memories is taken from a popular theory known as the Fuzzy Trace Theory of FTT (Porter and Baker 2015). This theory suggests that there are two types of memories processes: verbatim, which traces the exact aspects of an event, and gist traces, which follow the semantics or the connotative elements. These suggestive techniques can be so effective that in some cases ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Please support or discount their use with additional research and discuss. Osteoarthritis (OA) is a prevalent cause of chronic joint pain and disability in the older adult. It commonly affects the knee resulting in the deterioration and injury of the articular cartilage inducing joint pain, limitation of movement and reduction in the quality of life. OA s financial burden is high, and treatment is directed towards alleviating pain. Conventional medicines such as non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), including cyclooxygenase 2 inhibitors have adverse effects that can contribute to a serious medical condition. Nonetheless, there is an alternative dietary supplement that can be used that claims to ease OA pain; these Nutraceuticals are namely Glucosamine sulfate (GS) and chondroitin ... • 7. My Dream Short Story Last night I had the craziest dream. I went to fell asleep while watching The Gift . It was around midnight when I fell asleep and that is when my weird dream occurred. I arrived at the carnival early in the evening. I purchased my ticket for the ferris wheel, along with my sister, Clara. We proceeded to wait in line. The line was about a 2 hour wait. We waited in the line, which felt like eternity. It was finally our turn. We had both stepped onto the ferris wheel with caution. I had a bad fear of heights and so did my sister. Clara set down her purple teddy bear next to her that she had just won in the ring toss. As the ferris wheel began to turn, I pulled out my polaroid camera to take some pictures. I snapped a picture of Clara and I at the very top of the ferris wheel. The picture came out of the camera and I shook it to get it to dry faster. It actually came out pretty good. I slid the picture inside the pocket on the teddybears t shirt. The t shirt was a pretty baby pink shirt with tiny white polka dots. Suddenly the ferris wheel to rock back and forth. Clara and I started to panic. A man got on the loudspeaker We seem to be having some technical difficulties, the ride will resume shortly. That is when I shot up out of bed heavily breathing and sweating. That was a weird dream I said to myself. I got out of bed and started getting ready for the day. My phone began to ring. It was my sister. I picked up my phone and I answered. Hello? . Clara had just invited me to the carnival that is in town for the weekend. I agreed to go with her. Later that day, I met up with her at the carnival. She embraced me in the biggest hug when I saw her. I had not seen her in quite a while. We began walking around, talking and catching up. She pointed to the giant ferris wheel, Lets go! I stopped in my tracks. I was a little scared because I have a big fear of heights. She insisted I go with her. Sure, why not? I said. We waited in line which did not take very long. We stepped onto the ferris wheel, as the man closed the door behind us, it began to turn pretty quick. We got to the top of the ferris wheel and all of a sudden, it stopped. I looked over at Clara. She had a worried look on her face. I didn t want to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The authors in cite{EffNonCoo 15} explore the impact of the nodes non forwarding and partially forwarding actions on the performance of Epidemic, SnW, and Prophet protocols in terms of the data delivery ratio and delay. The experimental results demonstrate that DTNs tolerate a high percentage of non cooperative nodes (20 40% or even 60%) without too much harm, even though they still utilize the other nodes resources to deliver their own messages. Meanwhile, synthetic random mobility models are most vulnerable to less cooperation that implies that DTNs are robust against the nodes non cooperative behavior. ... While the works above consider nodes social oblivious selfishness behavior, Bermejo textit{et al.} cite{EmpiricalAlturistic 13} study human altruism in AppExp and WebExp applications with respectively 800 and 737 nodes considering the nodes remaining battery level and social tie information. The experiments show that nodes respectively exhibit 70% and 52% altruistic behavior in AppExp and WebExp when a minor credit (1 dollar) is awarded. Meanwhile, the nodes are not willing to relay data received from others when their remaining battery level is less than 10%. Xia textit{et al.} cite{Sig4UDD 113} explore the impact of IS and SS nodes on social based routing protocols under uncertain node cooperation. In particular, a signaling game approach (Sig4UDD) is proposed where Bayesian Nash equilibrium and perfect Bayesian equilibrium are employed to analyze the nodes one stage and multi stage interactions (Fig. ref{Sig4UDDScheme}). Meanwhile, a belief system is established to help the nodes predict the type of their encounters and decide whether to forward a message to them or not. The experimental results demonstrate that nodes in Sig4UDD can effectively establish their beliefs based on their previous interactions that can decrease the transmission cost significantly while improving the data delivery delay. • 10. Similarities Between Japanese Education And North American... Comparison of the North American and Japanese Educational Systems The comparison between Japanese and North American educational systems is often used. The Japanese system, along with other Asian cultures, places importance on the group and the interdependence of its members (Cole Cole, 2001, p. 541). The North American model, in contrast, focuses on the ideals of individuality and independence (Cole Cole, 2001, p.541). This contrast is due to a conflicting cultural/social structure and outlook of the world. Japanese look at the development of self as doubled sided: the inner self and the social or public self (Hoffman, 2000, p.307). This follows the cultural theme of interconnectedness in contrast to independence. This theme is the backbone to the Japanese educational and cultural system. In contrast, the North American education system stresses the ideals of individualism. The aim of the North American system is to socialize the children to become independent individuals, who have relationships with whom they choose (Cole Cole, 2001, p.541). This ideal of individualism influences the way educators approach learning. Children are encouraged to strive and pursue individual potential and needs (Hoffman, 2000, p.302). Children spend a lot of time pursuing individual activities alone during class time. The classroom is teacher centered in terms of its direction and authority. Whereas the Japanese teacher relies on the social structure and peers, North American teachers have authority to direct the class (Hoffman, 2000, p.304). This adult control is an external standard placed on the child (Hoffman, 2000, p.306). The Japanese teacher relies on the inner standards within the child and their fellow classmates to control the child (Hoffman, 2000, p.307). • 14. Water Pollution And Its Effects On The Environment Water covers almost 75% of the earth s surface and is undoubtedly our most precious natural resource that exists on our planet today. There won t be any living organism on our planet without water. Water Pollution occurs when a body of water is severely affected due to addition of large amount of materials to the water.[Missouri Botanical Garden] Pollutions such as sewage and fertilizers contain nutrients such as nitrates and phosphates. At high levels, nutrients can over stimulate the growth of aquatic plants and algae. Excessive growth of these types of organisms consequently clogs our waterways, use up dissolved oxygen as they decompose, and block light to deeper waters.[David Krantz] This could be very harmful to aquatic organisms as it affects the respiration ability of fish and other creatures of the sea. Pollution is also caused when silt and other suspended solids, such as soil, washoff plowed fields, construction and logging sites, urban areas, and eroded river banks when it rains.[David Krantz] Pollution in the form of organic material enters waterways in many different forms as sewage, as leaves and grass clippings, or as runoff from livestock feedlots and pastures. When natural bacteria and protozoan in the water break down this organic material, they begin to use up the oxygen dissolved in the water. Many types of fish and bottom dwelling animals cannot survive when levels of dissolved oxygen drop below two to five parts per million. When this occurs, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. The Importance Of Minority Rights In America America is the number 1 nation in the world! is a common phrase we hear time and time again. American citizens, in my opinion, have a distorted view on how awesome our country is. America was founded on the idea of freedom at least freedom for white men at the time. While we have grown and made bounds for the rights of minorities like African Americans, Hispanics and women; there is still room to grow. So many of our citizens feel disenfranchised by our government and that our implemented democracy doesn t grant them the same rights as others. This is usually a feeling felt by those in minority groups. Many in the majority don t realize that there are these discrepancies in our democracy because it s not something that affects them. That is one of the obstacles, many turn a blind eye to the injustices they see within our democracy because they do not want to get involved or they want the status quo to stay intact. The majority s desire to stay on top in our country is a huge influence in how those in the minority then view their abilities. Many minority members feel hopeless and that despite speaking up a power shift to equality will never be attainable. There is a profound lack of representation of minority groups in offices of power. As discussed in this class, there have only even been eight African American US Senators, and only two currently in the Senate now. This lack of representation harms minority youth because when they have grand dreams of changing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Joseph Franz Haydn Essays He is considered by some people to be one of the most famous composers of the classical period. His career grew with the development of classical style and forms, with the symphony, sonata, string quartet, and other instrumental forms, in the moulding of which he played an important part. Joseph Haydn was born in Rohrau in 1732, the son of a wheelwright, he trained as a chorister at St. Stephen s Cathedral in Vienna, where he made an early living. He worked as a freelance musician, playing the violin and the keyboard instruments, accompanying for singing lessons given by the composer Porpora, who helped and encouraged him ( Boynick, 1). Among the operas from this period are Lo speziale, L infedelta delusa and II mondo della luna. Haydn s job was to prepare the music, adapting or arranging it for the voices of the resident singers. In 1779 the opera house burnt down; Haydn composed La fedelta premiata for its reopening in 1781 (Boynick, 2). Until then his operas has largely been comic genres; his last two for Esterhaza, Orlando paladino (1782) and Armida (1783), are mixed or serious genres (Boynick, 2). Haydn s reputation had now grown and was international. Much of his music had been published in all the main European centres; under a revised contract with the Esterhaza his employer no longer had exclusive rights to his music (Boynick, 2). His work in the 1780s included symphonies, piano trios, piano sonatas, and string quartets. His influential op.33 quartets, issued in 1782, were said to be in a quite new, special manner: this is sometimes thought to refer to the use of instruments or the style of thematic development, but could refer to the introduction of Scherzos or mighty simply be an advertising device (Hughes, 36). More quartets appeared at the end of the decade, op.50 was dedicated to the King of Prussia (often said to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Management Dilemma In The NCR Country Club ( NCRCC ) When it comes to the formulation of the management research questions, there is a need to follow a hierarchy which determines the direction of acquiring a solution. Important to note is that a management research seeks to investigate problems and follow a step by step procedure in finding the respective solutions. On the other hand, managers have the task of providing scientific help in the decision making process. Therefore, it is imperative for one to take into consideration the available alternatives available to an organization as solutions. Subsequently, following a management research question hierarchy will enable them to conduct an adequate evaluation. Considering the case of NCR Country Club (NCRCC) the steps involved require us to establish the management dilemma, the management question, the research question, the investigative question, the measurement question, and the management decision (Schindler, 2001). Management Dilemma The management dilemma focuses on the issues that have resulted in the current problem of an organization (Hicks, Dattero Galup, 2006). In particular, the common factors surround the environment and how it has contributed to the problem. A management dilemma in the NCR Country Club is the matter related to the satisfaction of the members and non members when it comes to the provision of facilities such as a swimming pool, availability of superior dining services among other issues (Schindler, 2001). Another example of Will changing somebody would be how before he got there Carlton was a good guy and never disobeyed his parents. Essay on A Film with More than One Connection In the film District 9 (2009), biopolitics plays a role in in the social segregation of populations, and through the manipulation of political power based on eugenics and characteristics of living beings. Although biopolitics is conventionally understood as positive and productive and supposed to be used as a method to lead to benefits such as in doctrine, discipline, law, and policy, it often leads to racism and discrimination (Prozorov 191). Although some governments use biopolitics as a way to manage entire populations, it is not always in the best interest of all the populations. District 6, is another example of how historical fiction is used because in the film it is represented by district 9. These are only a few examples of historical fiction within the film yet; make the film more intriguing, and interesting to the viewer than just a history film alone. Rose believes that history is always altered to the lenses of present time and subjectivity it is perceived (Rose, 216). This leads many to not pay as much attention to history because they believe that it is only in the perspective of which the government or teacher wants to them to know, and in fact that is often the case. But somehow when you tell the viewer that it is a science fiction movie, they are more intrigued by it and it seems to have a bigger effect on most viewers. Through the historical fiction seen in the film we are able to understand what really went on in district 6, seeing as it represents district 9, and how biopolitics ruined the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. In the film the aliens were treated as scum of the earth, their rights were taken away, and they were not treated as equals to the white peoples. They were of a different race, skin color, body type and spoke a different language, which made the white people in the film want nothing to do with them. They removed the aliens ... • 34. Psychodynamic Approach And The Existential Approach Psychotherapy and counselling are inseparable. The effectiveness of a counselling program is not just based on the connectedness and interaction between a therapist and a client, but also the framework of the counselling approach in helping the client improving his mental health or overcoming personal problems. There are an extensive number of psychotherapies developed by past researchers, with each therapeutic concept offering unique contributions in understanding human behaviour and useful implications for counselling practice (Bedi et al., 2011). Among these therapeutic approaches are the psychodynamic approach and the existential approach. An example of existential approach psychotherapy is the person centred therapy that was introduced by Carl Rogers in the 1940s. Person centred therapy (PCT) focuses on the quality of the person to person therapeutic relationship; it places faith and gives responsibility to the client in dealing with problems and concerns (Corey, 2009, p. 30). On the other hand, for the psychodynamic approach, Sigmund Freud, the core founder of this approach developed psychoanalysis. Psychoanalysis is a therapy aimed to treat mental disorder. It is a set of techniques for treating the unconscious causes of mental disorders; as well as to explain the underlying factors of how human personality and abnormality develop from childhood (Corey, 2009, p. 30). This paper examines the similarities and differences between psychoanalytic therapy and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Father, in a literal definition, is a man who gives care and protection to someone or something. George Washington was such a man, responsible for his patriots in the fight against the British during the American Revolution. Confederation, on the other hand, is when a group of people come together in a coalition, or fight, while working together for a common cause. The lower class in France came together in the French Revolution to fight against Louis XVI, and his intolerance towards them. Therefore, Father of Confederation must mean a man who brings people together to fight for a common cause. There exists much controversy on whether the Metis, Louis ... Every hotel, regardless of its size, must have a public lobby. The size of the lobby is largely determined by the number of guest rooms as well as by the type of hotel that is on the architect s drawing boards. It goes without saying that the larger the hotel, the larger the lobby. The lobby will also have to be larger in a resort or convenient hotel. A resort hotel will require a large lobby because guests will congregate there in the evening. A hotel catering to conventions needs a large lobby because here again there is a constant gathering of conventioneers before they go off to lectures, seminars, meetings, luncheons, and dinners. There is no rule of thumb to determine the size of a lobby. One must proceed by making a careful study of similar types of hotels and arrive at decisions after discussions with hotel operators and managers. A hotel lobby sets the mood for a hotel. This space, more than any other, will create the first and usually the most lasting impression. Furnishings, color, finishing materials, lighting,

Whether this marketing strategy is actually doing its job is another question, but at least one exists. For those looking for new ways to improve their marketing strategy, one idea to consider is thought leadership marketing. What you re doing Wrong The first thing that a thought leader will look at is what you are doing wrong when it comes to your marketing campaign. For example, what does your content balance look like? Does it include any of the following? One of the biggest mistakes that is commonly seen is that the content creation team will create content that is too targeted towards an overly small group. What this does is eat into your marketing budget, which will leave little room for other groups to enter the picture. Also, a thought leader will take time to look at the quality of your content. Your content should be valuable and consistent. It should also be high quality and not stuffed full of keywords. Another mistake people tend to make is making ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Consumer Driven Eugenics Research Paper Introduction Eugenics is the belief and practice of improving the human population. Its ugly reputation is known throughout history as the practice that removes a human s right to make any choices over their own bodies. Though it is an ancient practice, the idea was popularised by misinterpretations of The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin. The idea of the sanctity of life was removed and Judeo Christian morality was replaced with human morality.
