a good amount of leadership training I always desire to learn, grow, and improve. I always say
that as a minister I should be learning and growing so that I might better impact this world for
Christ. I want to know Jesus more intimately, I want to know the word of God better, and I want to
be able to communicate the gospel of Christ in a richer more powerful way.
Even though I desire to learn and grow I have to admit that prior to taking this class, I did not
think that I would be challenged with a lot of new information. My assumption was that I would
merely be reminded of things I already knew and might at times be given a different perspective. I

My Reflection On Practicum
As I write this reflection on Thanksgiving break it shows me that I am thankful for this opportunity
to complete this practicum. Throughout this experience, it has put me out of my comfort zone. I
learned at a summer conference that if you are comfortable in what you are doing you are not
learning. Well, I have been extremely uncomfortable all while learning a plethora of new knowledge
. This practicum has let me experience new committees and helped me in finding my voice. The
tool created by John Driscoll: What? So What? and Now What? was a great model to use
throughout the practicum. It guided me and helped me put all of the work into an organized format
from which I can help myself learn even more.
Throughout this experience, I have asked myself what? many of times. Whether it be What is our
why? or What were we thinking? . What I got out of this experience I believe has changed my
career path for the better. I have been involved with three different committees that I had on my
practicum contract. These committees have opened my eyes to what a good committee looks like
and to what a committee that is in need of some help looks like. What I found most surprising is
how a committee starts and then no one wants to take the lead. I believe that is what leads to the
downfall of a committee or program. If no one believes or wants to push for the program, then
why should others. I have seen a change in my colleagues in the TLA and myself start to stand up
and assist with these issues.
In my time devoted to this practicum, I have learned how to use my voice and speak up for what
I think or would like to see. I have also used my voice to reach out to parents and our school staff.
For our AdvancED visit in January, a group and I lead a discussion on our values and beliefs as a
school. In three consecutive sessions we were able to produce a list of three commitments that we
believe our staff and students can live out day to day.

more honorable, and more admirable to live on one s knees or to die on one s feet has been a
source of debate for centuries. In his tragic play Hamlet, William Shakespeare proves that it is

I won t be following a parent or relatives footsteps by being a nurse and I haven t been inspired by
anyone I know. With a gradual realization I knew that nursing would be a great job for me after I
started watching Nurse Jackie I began to research nursing as a career which increased my interest
and wish to be a nurseas the program opened my eyes to how close knit a nursing team.
I have grown up in the countryside, the nearest town being a mile or two away, I d love the
opportunity to study at a university in a big city and I love that there will be practical experience in
a variety of settings like home environment, hospitals which is one of the largest NHS providers in
the UK and out in the community which would be interesting and worthwhile.
I was torn between adult nursing and mental health nursing but after a fair amount of research I
have come to the decision that I d like to do adult nursing as I believe it would give me a broader
basis to start with and endless options and opportunities, I am looking forward to learning
