The Implications Of Monetizing Children
Implications of Monetizing Children
Introduction
Children are fond of playing games on their mobile devices and will go to great lengths to ensure that
they remain entertained. These games are readily available on the Internet, and most children have
found convenience in purchasing or subscribing especially through in app purchasing. While a
majority of adult games require a one time subscription or purchase, children games have been
monetized and most children remain hooked to the games they play, which ends up costing more. On a
number of occasions, children have found themselves in trouble with their parents because of use of
their credit cards to purchase games on the Internet. Additionally, the incorporation of in games ads
poses another challenge because young kids are becoming more exposed to gaming content and are
lured into purchasing games or subscribing through the available options. This paper takes a look at
the ethical issues surrounding monetizing of children as well as highlights some of the psychological
issues related to kids games.

Analysis Of The Book Fish Out Of Water
After a retired mobster fakes his death to hide from the mob, he attempts to reconcile with his
estranged soccer mom daughter and grandson, by taking charge of the annual PTA fundraiser.
STORY COMMENTS
GRANDFELLA is a delightful and entertaining mobster crime, comedy. It conjures up sweet
memories of ANALYZE THAT, MEET THE FLOCKERS, and GOODFELLAS. The tone is light
hearted.
The script features an extremely appealing hook: a seasoned mobster decides to retire and reconcile
with his estranged daughter and grandson. He goes from being a big time mobster negotiator to a
small town PTA fundraiser.
There s an amusing fish out of water element to the storytelling. Solid themes about second chances,
respect, reconnection, and redemption are well interwoven into the plot.
The script features a very likable and charming protagonist in Nick. He s a retired mobster, forced to
fake his death, and he struggles to adjust to his new world by using his old enforcer techniques. It s a
smart story choice. It s fun to watch Nick bring his skills as a gangster to this small town. They learn
from him, as he learns to love and care about others. At the end, he realizes his real family is not his
crew, but his daughter and grandson, as well as the folks in the town.
There s a lot to like about this script. There s a well defined three act structure. The goal is clear and
the stakes are high. There are some nice plants and payoffs (the bracelet).
First, the opening sets the tone for this

Gibbons V. Ogden. Gibbons
Gibbons v. Ogden Gibbons v. Ogden was a landmark decision in which the United States Supreme
Court held that power to regulate interstate commerce. It was given to congress by the commerce
clause of the constitution. It was led by Chief Justice John Marshall. The debate in Gibbons concerned
contending cases of adversary steamship establishments. The condition of New York gave Aaron
Ogden a select permit to work steamboat ships between New Jersey and New York City on the
Hudson River. Thomas Gibbons, another steamboat administrator, ran two ships along the same
course. Ogden looked for an order against Gibbons in a New York state court, asserting that the state
had issued him elite rights to work the course. Accordingly, Gibbons guaranteed he had the privilege
to work on the course in accordance with a 1793 demonstration of Congress directing waterfront
business. The New York court found for Ogden and requested Gibbons to stop working his
steamships; on bid, the New York Supreme Court avowed the request. Gibbons spoke to the U.S.
Preeminent Court, which surveyed the case in 1824. John Marshall ruled for Gibbons, holding that
New York s selective award to Ogden disregarded the government authorizing demonstration of 1793.
In coming to its choice, the Court deciphered the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution
surprisingly. The proviso peruses that Congress should have energy to manage trade among the few
States. According to the Court, trade included articles in

Iroquoans In American Literature
Native Americans played an important role in American Literature. American writing s foundation is
due to the oral traditions of the Native Americans. Stories were told to youth about cultural beliefs
through various tribes. In the story the Earth on a Turtle s Back , the Onondaga show great respect for
the natural world. Form the Navajo Origin Legend shows how the Navajo worshipped the
supernatural. In The Iroquois Constitution , demonstrates how the Iroquois practiced customs. This
paper will explore how the Native American oral traditions are expressed by natural landmarks and its
significance, spiritual beliefs, and examples of ceremonial rites.
Native Americans have a deep respect for nature. The Onondaga tribe learned ways to work together
by observing the animals. In the story The earth on a Turtle s Back , the animals sacrificed their lives
in effort to save the Ancient Chief of the Skyland s wife. To do so, they retrieved soil by swimming
deep down in the water. When the soil was finally retrieved, the animals placed the tiny bit of soil on
the turtle s back, where the earth could grow for the woman to live on. In When the Grizzlies Walked
Upright , The Modoc revealed Mt. Shesta, the first volcano, it replicated their home. By having a place
to live, nature is providing shelter and safety. The Iroquois From the Iroquois constitution , planted a

The Sheep Reflection
Explanation: Jesus continued speaking to the people and explained that while only thieves climb over
the wall of the sheepfold, the shepherd enters through the door. And when he calls his own sheep by
name and leads them out, they follow him because they know his voice. But they would not follow a
stranger because they would not know his voice. But the people did not understand what he meant by
this parable, so Jesus continued, saying that he was the Door of the sheep. Thieves came before, but
the sheep did not know their voice and did not follow them. Those thieves came to steal and kill and
destroy, but Jesus, the Door, came to bring salvation and abundant life. Jesus continued, saying that he
was the Good Shepherd and gave his life for his sheep. But the hired servant who does not own the
sheep or care for the sheep leaves when the wolf comes. And the wolf catches the sheep and scatters
them. But the Good Shepherd knows his sheep and his sheep know him. And as he knew the Father, so
the Father knew him. And he has other sheep of other folds that he will bring into one fold, and he will
lay down his life for them. And the Father loves him because he lays down his life of himself, no one
taking it from him. He has the power to lay it down and to take it again. And that was the
commandment he had received from his Father. Then the Jews were again divided because of him,
some accusing him of demon possession, and others arguing that a devil could not open the eyes of the
blind, as Jesus had so recently done.
Application: In this passage, Jesus is explaining to the people about the shepherd, the sheepfold, and
the sheep. This is considered to be the only parable in the book of John, and perhaps it does not even
qualify as a parable at all. Either way, it is a beautiful, encouraging picture of the way that Jesus cares
for us, his sheep, even to the point of laying down his life for us. Jesus is our Shepherd, he leads us
and guides us and cares for us. Sheep are very stupid creatures and need a lot of tending; so we are
wayward humans needing much care and watching. But Christ is not only the shepherd; he is the door
itself. We enter into life and safety through him. It is not through as through something that

Examples Of Ignorance Of The Law
Ignorance of the law will not likely be an adequate defense when involved in a liability suit. That s the
reason for the saying that ignorance of the law is no excuse. The illegality of some driving acts is
apparent to most people such as violating the speed limit, running red lights, or passing a school bus
while its lights are flashing.
However, there are many ways that drivers can unknowingly commit negligent driving acts. If you get
into an accident while doing any of these four examples of negligence, you ll be found at fault, or at
least partially at fault:
Driving With Under Inflated Tires
Low air pressure in your tires diminishes your car s handling, especially when making emergency

Hard times get to the best of everybody, no matter what the case is. Hard times could include losing a

anything and help them get through their situations. In the poem, Here Follow Some Verses upon the
Burning of Our House By Anne Bradstreet, Bradstreet loses all over her possessions as a result of a
house fire. Anne shows her agitated feelings through the beginning of the poem, but towards the end
she tries to adjust her feelings. Bradstreet starts to rely on God and another house . Most people would

Art Within Cave Dwellings Dating
One of the earliest evidences of the belief in a higher power comes from deep within the Lascaux
Labyrinth , a deep cave decorated by our Paleolithic ancestors in the stone age, seventeen thousand
years ago (Armstrong 2). The great numbers and locations of art within the Lascaux and surrounding
region gives evidence that these were sacred places for the purpose of rituals, and some have
compared these dwellings to temples (Armstrong 3). Whether art within cave dwellings dating back to
the Paleolithic era, to magnificent churches rising to great heights around the world, the wondrous
temples of the Mayans, a mountain that appears to seamlessly morph into the city of Machu Picchu, to
trailers, tents and fortified compounds, belief in a power higher than one s self has been deeply
ingrained throughout centuries and a multitude of cultures. These different places are what many refer
to as a church, a place to record and follow the rituals specific to their belief and to worship. Through
the generations of the development of the human psyche, belief in a higher power is taught young and
ingrained for many, yet meaningless for some. Furthermore, throughout the evolution of many
centuries, it is inevitable that branches of these religions will follow a different path, create new
churches to better practice their views of religion, and for some, belief in a higher power can be
contorted to the preaching s and worship of hate. There is a fine line between preaching scriptures and

Another major problem banks have had to content with is the inconsistency in monetary and
regulatory policies. The surveillance and regulatory measures of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)
have unfortunately been unable to keep the pace with the rapidity of the charges in the financial
system.
All these factors deregulation, competition, innovation, economic recession, political instability,
escalating inflation, and frequent reversal in monetary policy have combined to create a challenging
and precarious financial environment for banks. Consequence of the new financial environment has
been rapidly declining profitability of the traditional banking activities. Thus, in a bid to survive and
maintain adequate profit level in this highly competitive environment, banks have tended to take
excessive risks. But, then the increasing tendency for greater risk taking has resulted in insolvency and
failure of a large number of the banks [9].
The continuing deterioration in the financial health of the banks and increasing incidence of bank
failure since deregulation have raised question about the nature and state of the Nigerian banking
sector. 1. Statement of the Problem
It is a known fact that banks play

Essay about Small Pox History
Small Pox History
Smallpox has been believed to be a prominent killer for thousands of years. Before 900 AD smallpox
and measles were easily interchangeable to many physicians. These two diseases possessed similar
symptoms, such as fevers and rashes, making it very difficult to distinguish between them. It was not
until the Persian physician, Rhazes Ar Raz Abmiz, that measles and smallpox were able to be
clinically distinguished in 900 AD. Much later in 1751, Thomas Sydenham found further
differentiating characteristics between the two diseases(Aufderheide, 202). Through the years, with its
many outbreaks in varying areas across the planet, smallpox claimed millions of victims. Many rulers
and soldiers were killed by this incredibly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the development of the vaccine, laws requiring vaccination soon appeared in many
countries(McNeil, 166). When deaths from the vaccination itself outnumbered the reported deaths
from actual smallpox in 1970, many countries decided to discontinue the vaccination. Today smallpox
has been eradicated from the planet; many are still worried that it will be used for bioterrorism as it
was by the British army who attempted to infect representatives of the Delaware Indians with two
infected blankets during the 1763 Pontiac s Rebellion(Hopkins, 16).
Smallpox has been seen throughout history. In ancient records the Lesser Pox has been believed to
refer to smallpox while the Greater Pox is syphilis. It has also been referred to as the petite
verole(McNeil, 166). This human unique disease resembles both cowpox and monkeypox. Smallpox
is caused by two virus variants. One is Variola minor, which is the lesser harmful variant. It is usually
referred to as alastrim. Its mortality rate is only 1% of its victims. On the other hand, its far more
harmful virus relative, Variola major, has a mortality rate of 20 40% of its victims(Aufderheide, 203).
In order for this disease to spread among individuals, a non immune person must come in close
contact with an infected individual that was infected less than two weeks prior. Throughout history,
persistent migrations also aided the spread of smallpox. Many

Free Time For Students In High School And College
Over half of the students in the United States struggle with grades, thus resulting in an unhappy
experience in high school and college. Patience, effort, and preparation for needs are an essential key
to knowledge and success. Before such steps can be followed, a student must set self goals of what
they desire to achieve in school over a period of time. Not all students are born naturally gifted with
intelligence in this universe, but following the most helpful directions in life will in no doubt assist
any lost student in achieving his or her self desire. The negligence of studying and completing
homework is the first and main reason why students continue to struggle with their grades and life in
general. Free time between classes and after school should contribute towards studying and homework
instead of time to associate with friends and/or a significant other. Of course, students do not have to
shelter themselves away from what makes them most happy, however, free time should be divided up
so that a proper amount is spent preparing for tests or finishing assignments. Just one to two hours a
day spent studying can boost a grade from a seventy percent to a ninety percent, and this will
significantly relieve stress and boost confidence.
Not only do some students need to divide up time between a social life and school work, but they also
desire to divide it up between extracurricular activities and/or a job. Most people want to experience a

was on my way to college and leaving this town. Here I am back again, but this time I wanted to be
here. Seeing all the traditional things my mother had ,and at the end of the day, I would hopefully be
bringing some back with me.
Before Asalamalakim could get out of the car, I set out my foot before him. I chose this beautiful dress
to wear today, it didn t really fit the weather, but it was such an engaging dress and I decided on
wearing it. The dress was loose, bright yellow, and bright orange. I had on gold earrings that hung

This was my favorite time of day, when the sun was going down, yet it was still early and you had
time to do anything you pleased. The sunset was about to come out soon and the temperature was just
about right, I appreciated a lot of the things I have around this time. We ate dinner and I was very
pleased with the food my mother had made. I feel as if she had gotten better, or maybe I just missed
her cooking and it tasted extra delicious tonight.
Lastly, I had finished dinner and I got up from my chair. I went to end of my mother s bed and went
through the trunk. As I started to dig, I found exactly what I was looking for. The whole point of
coming back to my house, was so that I could look for antiques in the house. My husband and I
planned on hanging, whatever we got from my mother, on the wall. Mama, can I have these old quilts?

A Social Examination On The Cold War
Brittany O Neill
May Paper
Elaine Tyler takes a social examination on the war against communism in the book, Homeward
Bound: American Families in the Cold War Era. May portrays the idea that the nuclear family
structure was a way to amplify resistance against communism. The exterior threat of communism
during the postwar and the Cold War era caused for interrelationships within marriages to become a
longer and more stable environment. Compared to the previous book we read as a class, May takes a
deeper look into history and finds geopolitical reasoning for the events of the postwar age. The
interpersonal that May connects to the Cold War era allows for the reader to gain a broader concept of
how society affected change.
First within each book read this semester, each author takes a unique view on the Cold War. In John
Gaddis s The Cold War: A New History, Gaddis takes a series of books on the Cold War, condenses
them and is able to give a fresh synopsis of the Cold War. His topics are broad and give a clear
overview of the Cold War. He looks upon the leaders of the Cold War, including Joseph Stalin, Ronald
Reagan, Nikita Khrushchev and others to find reasoning on the outcome of the Cold War. His story
looks at the foreign policies of each country and dissects reasoning for the events that occurred during
the time.
In comparison to John Gaddis, May s book has more social and domestic view on the Cold War.

The Importance Of Language In Hamlet By William Shakespeare
A man with a unique manipulation of language had the power to captivate minds centuries ago, and
yet his legendary voice is still heard today. William Shakespeare was the man of his time at the
forefront of drama and play writing. It is no wonder he stood as a noble character by the king, because
his literary works were so cherished by all of the people. His audience praised him, and they
understood him, however, the language that was recognizable to them might be more unfamiliar to us.
As an illustration, one might ponder why Shakespeare chose to assert in the famous tragedy Hamlet
that This above all; to thine own self be true. A modern audience might translate the phrase to mean
the most important thing is to look after yourself , but why is the phrase written in such a peculiar
way? There is a certain rhythmic pattern along with distinct tools embedded in Shakespeare s voice
that one must explore... and then the audience can fully become one with his thoughts and brilliant
mind.
First and foremost, one of the most appreciated tragedies written by Shakespeare is Macbeth. In this
play the audience observes a loyal general transform into a betraying tyrant and establishes his own
downfall, commencing with the murder of his own king. Undoubtedly, this piece of literature is rich in
rhetorical devices and mechanisms that illuminate Shakespeare s words. Chiefly, the primary
mechanism for which Shakespeare delivers is known as Iambic Pentameter . This tool consists

The Rush West For Gold
fortune quiet, though word of the strike had reached San Francisco by the middle of that year, and
from then on, the rush west for gold was underway. In the next year, the news had spread across the
country, and even President Polk began telling the nation about the gold to be found in California.
People came in a mad rush from all over the country in search of fortune in the gold fields; some came
from the military following the war with the Spanish, others came across land from the inner frontier,
while still others came via the ocean, from the east coast and even Australia; it was truly a
monumental movement of humanity, all fueled by the lust for gold and the fortunes it brought. Within

in all of these strikes, miners, prospectors, merchants, saloon keepers, and many others would rapidly
appear near a strike, and as soon as the metal was exhausted, the population would rapidly plummet or
disappear entirely, leaving those people to wander the west in search of the next big strike, to repeat
the process again year after year (H F 236 38). It can be said that because of the strikes occurring
throughout the west the Indians faced insurmountable hardship. The events of Cherokee displacement
were reappearing in California, and in Colorado in 1859, the Cheyanne s fell to the same fate. So
when the Sioux discovered that miners were flooding into Montana, they prepared for war. Moreover,
they were rather successful at it; an alliance of Sioux and Cheyanne forced the US to give up much of
its military property in the region along the Bozeman trail, and sign peace treaties guarantying the
safety of the Indians who would now reside on the Sioux reservation in 1869. However, in the Black
Hills of the Dakotas, gold was discovered again, and soon thousands of miners and their associated
followers flooded into the region, and blatantly ignored the terms of the 1868 treaty forbidding
prospectors from entering the reservation lands. The combination of

I began exercising my rights as an American citizen in earnest when I was 12 years old. During
lunchtime at school, a few kids in my class placed thumbtacks on my teacher s chair (an old trick).
She was understandably very upset when she sat on them. Not having DNA and fingerprint testing at
her disposal, Ms. Hana issued the ultimatum that unless those who had committed the act came
forward, she would be forced to punish the whole class. We had until the end of the day to produce the
guilty persons. The next day Ms. Hana came in and said that we would all be facing detention that day

I am silent. My heart is too heavy to say anything. The gravity that pulls me down to the ground with

The Internet And The Future Of The Internet
The Internet has revolutionized how people interact with each other on a daily basis. Before the
Internet permeated our lives, staying connected to friends and family was difficult and costly.
However, today, staying connected is easy and accessible (O Dell, 2011). The way we communicate
changed when the first e mail was sent in 1971 (O Dell, 2011; Borges, 2012; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010).
When the Internet was launched in 1978, the Bulletin Board System (BBS) was invented to allow
users to exchange messages, data, news, and software (Bennett, 2012; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). In
1979, two individuals created Usenet, a worldwide discussion system that allowed users to post public
messages (O Dell, 2011; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). The 1980s witnessed the introduction of online
service providers such as Compuserve, Prodigy, and America Online (AOL) (Curtis, 2011). By 1989,
British engineer Tim Berners Lee had begun to work at CERN on what was to become the World
Wide Web (Borges, 2012; Curtis, 2011).
In the 1990s, the Mosaic web browser was launched, GeoCities, one of the Web s first social
networking sites, was founded, and personal home pages began to emerge (O Dell, 2011; Bennett,
2012; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). The year 1995 marked the era of corporate web pages and e commerce
(Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). Thus, it is no surprise that the current trend toward social media can be
traced back to the Internet s roots, since social media has transformed the World Wide Web from web
sites that provided static information to web sites that allow information exchange between users
(Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). The social media era dates back to 1998, when Bruce and Susan Abelson
founded Open Diary, an early social networking site that brought online diary writers together in a
single community (Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). The technical advances and the growing availability of
high speed Internet access over the past 30 years have enabled a form of virtual content sharing,
leading to the creation of social networking sites such as MySpace in 2003 and Facebook in 2004 that
are fundamentally different and more powerful than the Bulletin Board System (BBS) of the late
1970s (Borges, 2012; Curtis, 2011; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010).

December 9, 1948 at the United Nations General Assembly in Paris (France).

the Declaration of Human Rights.
Anna Eleanor Roosevelt was born in New York on October 11, 1884. In 1905 she married Franklin

Psoriasis Pathophysiology Essay
Psoriasis Pathophysiology Psoriasis is a common skin disorder affecting millions of people. It affects
2 to 3% of the Caucasian population, usually in individuals between 15 and 30 years old. (Liu,
Krueger, Bowcock, 2007). There are several different forms of the disease. The most common type is
chronic plague psoriasis. It presents itself as silvery scaled patches usually on the knees, elbows, lower
back, and scalp. Outbreaks can be triggered by infection, such as strep throat, drug use, psychological
stress, hormonal changes and skin injury. The exact cause is still unknown; however, research has
provided some interesting insights into the pathophysiology of psoriasis. The most evident

Although not yet verified, natural killer T cells also seem to play a role in the development of
psoriasis. T cells are not the only increased leukocytes in psoriasis patients. Neutrophils, mast cells,
dendritic cells, and natural killer cells are also increased. Dendritic cells are the other important cell of
study for psoriasis. There are three subsets of cutaneous dendritic cells which include: immature
dendritic cells (iDC), mature myeloid dendritic cells (mDC), and plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC).
All three are increased in patients with psoriasis. These cells overall could equal or exceed the number
of T cells in lesions. (Jullien, 2006). Langerhans cells are one type of immature dendritic cell. There
job is to engulf protein antigens by pinocytosis, partially digest these proteins into shorter
polypeptides, and move these polypeptides to the surface. (Fox, 2008). Once they are at the surface,
they are associated with histocompatibility antigen, which in turn activates the T lymphocytes. As
mentioned before, this unnecessary activation of T cells will lead to the hyperproliferation and
differentiation of keratinocytes. In order for these cells to be activated in a way that causes the
inflammatory process associated with psoriasis, they must migrate to the skin. Recruitment of
leukocytes out of the blood stream into the different skin compartments is an active and selective
process. (Jullien, 2006).

The Nature Of Beauty And The Balance Of Life
I stroll through the low lying grass and hear the rushing of the water down the rocks. The sun glistens
on the river following the waterfall. This impeccable beauty of the sun on the water reminds me how
to live my life. Like the water, and the things within it, I should follow the natural flow. By doing this,
beauty will behold me. For if I resist the flow of life it would be like paddling up stream, which is a
task no one enjoys. I must let everything happen and offer no resistance, then, like the water, the sun
will shine upon me and I will have lived a beautiful and fulfilling life. As I sit on a rock at the bank of
the river I look around and see that everything is starting bloom. It is spring and the trees are
beginning to sprout flowers. The grass is poking out of the ground with its vibrant green color, and the
animals are all coming out to play. Soon enough all of this will change when autumn comes. This
change is the elegance of life; mono no aware. Both life and death depend on each other making both
equally beautiful. The transitory nature of things is expected and should be embraced for its
resplendence not ridiculed.

As we age, the adventure of growing up can be unpredictable and even difficult to grasp. As a child
the journey is frightening and never seems to get simpler throughout our lives. The problems we face
are different for everybody. And after life thought us its lessons, we oftentimes have to remind
ourselves of the origin of the lessons to reinstate its principles. This is also the case in Elizabeth
Bishop s poem in the waiting room . In this poem the speaker, Elizabeth, has trouble accepting who
she is, when she not only realizes she is part of a larger, more complex, society but also that she is a

she is able to name where she is and what she is doing, in the waiting room of the dentist s office,
where she is reading the National Geographic. In the following stanza, that consists of twenty one
lines, we see that the speaker is captivated by her thoughts and starts questioning why she has to be
like the women in the picture and her aunt. She no longer says that she is in the waiting room, she only
tells us that she sees shadowy gray knees,/trousers and skirts and boots/and different pairs of

why she has to be like her aunt or any other woman for that matter, and what the similarities between
herself and other women are, she does not mention her surroundings anymore. Then it seems the
speaker completely lost touch with reality in the penultimate stanza, of only four lines, where she says
that The waiting room was bright/and too hot. It was sliding/beneath a big black wave,/another, and

Homelessness not only affects politics, the economy, and social environments, it also heavily
influences morality. Should homelessness continue in its current state, the moral compass of humanity
as a whole will be thrown off. Caring for those around us who have experienced troubles should be
something that is actively sought to fix, not ignored. By ignoring the issue, we create an aura of
indifference to, not just human suffering, but suffering that we experience close to our homes. The

Cheesecake Factory Structure
Intro
The organizational structures within a company can be the determining factor if a business can run
efficiently or run chaotically into ruin. The organizational structure is the different hierarchy s and
arrangement of authority, roles and duties in an organization. The Cheesecake factory has a very
effective organizational structure which allows for its operations to run smoothly and enables the
Cheesecake factory to be one of the highest earning restaurant chains. The structure contains three
main levels. The first and highest level is the board of directors which contains 7 members, including

It is a centralized system, where decisions and recommendations come from the top down. However it
is also flexible giving any employee the freedom to reach out to an upper level director. This
succession of power lets Cheesecake Factory operate smoothly and competently. Each location
manager has to go through extensive training to be able to be in that position and is well qualified to
look over the whole restaurant. Given the success of Cheesecake factory, I would say they should keep
their hierarchal structure the same and if anything they should add higher monitoring of lower levels.
The upper levels seem to operate efficiently, but upon reading employee reviews of working at
Cheesecake factory, there were several that were unhappy with their general managers. Many of them
claimed that the management was unapproachable, and did not pay attention to the hard work of the
employees. It was also said that the managers tend to be overbearing and lack communication skills
with employees. Another overarching theme was the inconsistent breaks because they are up to the
discretion of the manager. My recommendation would be to invest more in the employees and the
directors that are above the general managers to make sure that the employees are satisfied. Promote
company values more and participative leadership and more incentive for employees to go above and
beyond and focus on team building as opposed to individual competition. In one of the reports they
even said themselves that the success of the business is due to happy employees. Our future growth
and financial success will be highly dependent on our ability to attract, develop and retain qualified
staff members who are capable of successfully managing upscale, high volume casual dining

accomplish this. You may have a GPS device which shows you these coordinates, and you could just

Jfk Inaugural Address Rhetorical Analysis
On a cold January afternoon in 1961 John Fitzgerald Kennedy delivered one of the shortest but most
empowering inaugural addresses. Kennedy won by the smallest margin ever and to this day was the
youngest and the only Roman Catholic ever elected U.S. president. With the victory of World War II
behind the US and the fear of nuclear warfare with the Soviet Union looming Kennedy faced a
difficult task. Kennedy was faced with the task of convincing the American people that he was fit to

often in Kennedy s speech was the use of parallel structures. A parallel structure also called

a parallel structure would be To show kindness is praiseworthy; to show hatred is evil . Some
examples of parallel structures in Kennedy s inaugural address speech are: For man holds in his mortal

long term effects on overall health (12) Multitasking is hard enough and if teens are doing this in the
classroom that means that kids are not learning enough while staring at their phones while the teacher
is teaching. Having said this a study from Pew research center stated that 78 percent of teens check
their devices hourly , this is insane. If that is true that means on average a student will at least look at
her/his device once per class period. As being a student in high school i find this to be very true.
Another study from Pew Research center stated that 50% of teens 13 18 feel addicted to their phones ,
this means that means separating from their phones will be tough. The reason i am writing about this
topic is to inform people about this epidemic and i am stating why this needs to be fixed. Unlike other
technologies there is something very specific about smartphones it represents life, entertainment,
social Running Head:CELL PHONE DISTRACTION 4 media, and gaming (12) the reason for this is
because of apps such as Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and gaming apps. Phones being
allowed in the classroom are tempting for students. Students feel a vibration in their pockets and feel
the need to check their phones. Apps for example snapchat will flash the camera light when the
student receives a snap from someone. A research from Pew Research center asked a teacher what her
thoughts were on the issue. It s just too tempting for a student. Once that phone is brought out, most
can t resist texting a friend or begin playing a game. (12) Schools are allowing this epidemic to spread

  • 5. Analysis Of The Book Fish Out Of Water After a retired mobster fakes his death to hide from the mob, he attempts to reconcile with his estranged soccer mom daughter and grandson, by taking charge of the annual PTA fundraiser. STORY COMMENTS GRANDFELLA is a delightful and entertaining mobster crime, comedy. It conjures up sweet memories of ANALYZE THAT, MEET THE FLOCKERS, and GOODFELLAS. The tone is light hearted. The script features an extremely appealing hook: a seasoned mobster decides to retire and reconcile with his estranged daughter and grandson. He goes from being a big time mobster negotiator to a small town PTA fundraiser. There s an amusing fish out of water element to the storytelling. Solid themes about second chances, respect, reconnection, and redemption are well interwoven into the plot. The script features a very likable and charming protagonist in Nick. He s a retired mobster, forced to fake his death, and he struggles to adjust to his new world by using his old enforcer techniques. It s a smart story choice. It s fun to watch Nick bring his skills as a gangster to this small town. They learn from him, as he learns to love and care about others. At the end, he realizes his real family is not his crew, but his daughter and grandson, as well as the folks in the town. There s a lot to like about this script. There s a well defined three act structure. The goal is clear and the stakes are high. There are some nice plants and payoffs (the bracelet). First, the opening sets the tone for this ... • 6. Gibbons V. Ogden. Gibbons Gibbons v. Ogden Gibbons v. Ogden was a landmark decision in which the United States Supreme Court held that power to regulate interstate commerce. It was given to congress by the commerce clause of the constitution. It was led by Chief Justice John Marshall. The debate in Gibbons concerned contending cases of adversary steamship establishments. The condition of New York gave Aaron Ogden a select permit to work steamboat ships between New Jersey and New York City on the Hudson River. Thomas Gibbons, another steamboat administrator, ran two ships along the same course. Ogden looked for an order against Gibbons in a New York state court, asserting that the state had issued him elite rights to work the course. Accordingly, Gibbons guaranteed he had the privilege to work on the course in accordance with a 1793 demonstration of Congress directing waterfront business. The New York court found for Ogden and requested Gibbons to stop working his steamships; on bid, the New York Supreme Court avowed the request. Gibbons spoke to the U.S. Preeminent Court, which surveyed the case in 1824. John Marshall ruled for Gibbons, holding that New York s selective award to Ogden disregarded the government authorizing demonstration of 1793. In coming to its choice, the Court deciphered the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution surprisingly. The proviso peruses that Congress should have energy to manage trade among the few States. This paper will explore how the Native American oral traditions are expressed by natural landmarks and its significance, spiritual beliefs, and examples of ceremonial rites. Native Americans have a deep respect for nature. The Onondaga tribe learned ways to work together by observing the animals. In the story The earth on a Turtle s Back , the animals sacrificed their lives in effort to save the Ancient Chief of the Skyland s wife. To do so, they retrieved soil by swimming deep down in the water. When the soil was finally retrieved, the animals placed the tiny bit of soil on the turtle s back, where the earth could grow for the woman to live on. In When the Grizzlies Walked Upright , The Modoc revealed Mt. Shesta, the first volcano, it replicated their home. By having a place to live, nature is providing shelter and safety. • 8. The Sheep Reflection Explanation: Jesus continued speaking to the people and explained that while only thieves climb over the wall of the sheepfold, the shepherd enters through the door. And when he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out, they follow him because they know his voice. But they would not follow a stranger because they would not know his voice. But the people did not understand what he meant by this parable, so Jesus continued, saying that he was the Door of the sheep. Thieves came before, but the sheep did not know their voice and did not follow them. Those thieves came to steal and kill and destroy, but Jesus, the Door, came to bring salvation and abundant life. Jesus continued, saying that he was the Good Shepherd and gave his life for his sheep. But the hired servant who does not own the sheep or care for the sheep leaves when the wolf comes. And the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. But the Good Shepherd knows his sheep and his sheep know him. And as he knew the Father, so the Father knew him. And he has other sheep of other folds that he will bring into one fold, and he will lay down his life for them. And the Father loves him because he lays down his life of himself, no one taking it from him. He has the power to lay it down and to take it again. And that was the commandment he had received from his Father. Then the Jews were again divided because of him, some accusing him of demon possession, and others arguing that a devil could not open the eyes of the blind, as Jesus had so recently done. Application: In this passage, Jesus is explaining to the people about the shepherd, the sheepfold, and the sheep. This is considered to be the only parable in the book of John, and perhaps it does not even qualify as a parable at all. Either way, it is a beautiful, encouraging picture of the way that Jesus cares for us, his sheep, even to the point of laying down his life for us. Jesus is our Shepherd, he leads us and guides us and cares for us. Sheep are very stupid creatures and need a lot of tending; so we are wayward humans needing much care and watching. But Christ is not only the shepherd; he is the door itself. We enter into life and safety through him. It is not through as through something that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That s the reason for the saying that ignorance of the law is no excuse. • 14. Art Within Cave Dwellings Dating One of the earliest evidences of the belief in a higher power comes from deep within the Lascaux Labyrinth , a deep cave decorated by our Paleolithic ancestors in the stone age, seventeen thousand years ago (Armstrong 2). The great numbers and locations of art within the Lascaux and surrounding region gives evidence that these were sacred places for the purpose of rituals, and some have compared these dwellings to temples (Armstrong 3). Whether art within cave dwellings dating back to the Paleolithic era, to magnificent churches rising to great heights around the world, the wondrous temples of the Mayans, a mountain that appears to seamlessly morph into the city of Machu Picchu, to trailers, tents and fortified compounds, belief in a power higher than one s self has been deeply ingrained throughout centuries and a multitude of cultures. These different places are what many refer to as a church, a place to record and follow the rituals specific to their belief and to worship. Through the generations of the development of the human psyche, belief in a higher power is taught young and ingrained for many, yet meaningless for some. Furthermore, throughout the evolution of many centuries, it is inevitable that branches of these religions will follow a different path, create new churches to better practice their views of religion, and for some, belief in a higher power can be contorted to the preaching s and worship of hate. Another major problem banks have had to content with is the inconsistency in monetary and regulatory policies. The surveillance and regulatory measures of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) have unfortunately been unable to keep the pace with the rapidity of the charges in the financial system. All these factors deregulation, competition, innovation, economic recession, political instability, escalating inflation, and frequent reversal in monetary policy have combined to create a challenging and precarious financial environment for banks. Consequence of the new financial environment has been rapidly declining profitability of the traditional banking activities. Thus, in a bid to survive and maintain adequate profit level in this highly competitive environment, banks have tended to take excessive risks. But, then the increasing tendency for greater risk taking has resulted in insolvency and failure of a large number of the banks [9]. The continuing deterioration in the financial health of the banks and increasing incidence of bank failure since deregulation have raised question about the nature and state of the Nigerian banking sector. 1. Before 900 AD smallpox and measles were easily interchangeable to many physicians. These two diseases possessed similar symptoms, such as fevers and rashes, making it very difficult to distinguish between them. It was not until the Persian physician, Rhazes Ar Raz Abmiz, that measles and smallpox were able to be clinically distinguished in 900 AD. Much later in 1751, Thomas Sydenham found further differentiating characteristics between the two diseases(Aufderheide, 202). • 22. Free Time For Students In High School And College Over half of the students in the United States struggle with grades, thus resulting in an unhappy experience in high school and college. Patience, effort, and preparation for needs are an essential key to knowledge and success. Before such steps can be followed, a student must set self goals of what they desire to achieve in school over a period of time. Not all students are born naturally gifted with intelligence in this universe, but following the most helpful directions in life will in no doubt assist any lost student in achieving his or her self desire. The negligence of studying and completing homework is the first and main reason why students continue to struggle with their grades and life in general. Free time between classes and after school should contribute towards studying and homework instead of time to associate with friends and/or a significant other. Of course, students do not have to shelter themselves away from what makes them most happy, however, free time should be divided up so that a proper amount is spent preparing for tests or finishing assignments. Just one to two hours a day spent studying can boost a grade from a seventy percent to a ninety percent, and this will significantly relieve stress and boost confidence. Not only do some students need to divide up time between a social life and school work, but they also desire to divide it up between extracurricular activities and/or a job. The Importance Of Language In Hamlet By William Shakespeare A man with a unique manipulation of language had the power to captivate minds centuries ago, and yet his legendary voice is still heard today. William Shakespeare was the man of his time at the forefront of drama and play writing. It is no wonder he stood as a noble character by the king, because his literary works were so cherished by all of the people. His audience praised him, and they understood him, however, the language that was recognizable to them might be more unfamiliar to us. As an illustration, one might ponder why Shakespeare chose to assert in the famous tragedy Hamlet that This above all; to thine own self be true. A modern audience might translate the phrase to mean the most important thing is to look after yourself , but why is the phrase written in such a peculiar way? There is a certain rhythmic pattern along with distinct tools embedded in Shakespeare s voice that one must explore... and then the audience can fully become one with his thoughts and brilliant mind. First and foremost, one of the most appreciated tragedies written by Shakespeare is Macbeth. In this play the audience observes a loyal general transform into a betraying tyrant and establishes his own downfall, commencing with the murder of his own king. • 28. The Internet And The Future Of The Internet The Internet has revolutionized how people interact with each other on a daily basis. Before the Internet permeated our lives, staying connected to friends and family was difficult and costly. However, today, staying connected is easy and accessible (O Dell, 2011). The way we communicate changed when the first e mail was sent in 1971 (O Dell, 2011; Borges, 2012; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). When the Internet was launched in 1978, the Bulletin Board System (BBS) was invented to allow users to exchange messages, data, news, and software (Bennett, 2012; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). In 1979, two individuals created Usenet, a worldwide discussion system that allowed users to post public messages (O Dell, 2011; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). The 1980s witnessed the introduction of online service providers such as Compuserve, Prodigy, and America Online (AOL) (Curtis, 2011). By 1989, British engineer Tim Berners Lee had begun to work at CERN on what was to become the World Wide Web (Borges, 2012; Curtis, 2011). In the 1990s, the Mosaic web browser was launched, GeoCities, one of the Web s first social networking sites, was founded, and personal home pages began to emerge (O Dell, 2011; Bennett, 2012; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). The year 1995 marked the era of corporate web pages and e commerce (Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). Thus, it is no surprise that the current trend toward social media can be traced back to the Internet s roots, since social media has transformed the World Wide Web from web sites that provided static information to web sites that allow information exchange between users (Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). The social media era dates back to 1998, when Bruce and Susan Abelson founded Open Diary, an early social networking site that brought online diary writers together in a single community (Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). The technical advances and the growing availability of high speed Internet access over the past 30 years have enabled a form of virtual content sharing, leading to the creation of social networking sites such as MySpace in 2003 and Facebook in 2004 that are fundamentally different and more powerful than the Bulletin Board System (BBS) of the late 1970s (Borges, 2012; Curtis, 2011; Kaplan Haenlein, 2010). ... T cells are not the only increased leukocytes in psoriasis patients. Neutrophils, mast cells, dendritic cells, and natural killer cells are also increased. Dendritic cells are the other important cell of study for psoriasis. There are three subsets of cutaneous dendritic cells which include: immature dendritic cells (iDC), mature myeloid dendritic cells (mDC), and plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC). All three are increased in patients with psoriasis. These cells overall could equal or exceed the number of T cells in lesions. (Jullien, 2006). Langerhans cells are one type of immature dendritic cell. There job is to engulf protein antigens by pinocytosis, partially digest these proteins into shorter polypeptides, and move these polypeptides to the surface. (Fox, 2008). As mentioned before, this unnecessary activation of T cells will lead to the hyperproliferation and differentiation of keratinocytes. • 33. In The Waiting Room As we age, the adventure of growing up can be unpredictable and even difficult to grasp. As a child the journey is frightening and never seems to get simpler throughout our lives. The problems we face are different for everybody. And after life thought us its lessons, we oftentimes have to remind ourselves of the origin of the lessons to reinstate its principles. This is also the case in Elizabeth Bishop s poem in the waiting room . In this poem the speaker, Elizabeth, has trouble accepting who she is, when she not only realizes she is part of a larger, more complex, society but also that she is a woman. With a good dose of reality, a bit of artistry, and a clear form, Bishop has written a poem that shows us a bold image, but also a lot of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the form of the poem the speaker s mood and state of mind become evident, and the more she questions her acceptance of self, the shorter and unclear the stanzas become. The poem is made up of five stanzas, and in the first stanza, that consists of fifty three lines, the speaker sounds very confident, she is able to name where she is and what she is doing, in the waiting room of the dentist s office, where she is reading the National Geographic. In the following stanza, that consists of twenty one lines, we see that the speaker is captivated by her thoughts and starts questioning why she has to be like the women in the picture and her aunt. She no longer says that she is in the waiting room, she only tells us that she sees shadowy gray knees,/trousers and skirts and boots/and different pairs of hands/lying under the lamps . In the third stanza consisting of fifteen lines, the speaker is wondering why she has to be like her aunt or any other woman for that matter, and what the similarities between herself and other women are, she does not mention her surroundings anymore. Then it seems the speaker completely lost touch with reality in the penultimate stanza, of only four lines, where she says that The waiting room was bright/and too hot. It was sliding/beneath a big black wave,/another, and another . This suggests that she might have fainted. In the last stanza she brings us and herself back to reality, she is able to name where she is and even what the date of that day was, this stanza consists of six lines where the speaker appears to be more confident ... • 34. Morality Of Homelessness Homelessness not only affects politics, the economy, and social environments, it also heavily influences morality. Should homelessness continue in its current state, the moral compass of humanity as a whole will be thrown off. Caring for those around us who have experienced troubles should be something that is actively sought to fix, not ignored. By ignoring the issue, we create an aura of indifference to, not just human suffering, but suffering that we experience close to our homes. The continuing existence of homelessness can be seen as a contradiction to the Building Blocks of Catholic Social Teaching, especially The Principle of Solidarity, The Principle of the Common Good, and The Principle of Preferential Protection for the Poor ... • 35. Cheesecake Factory Structure Intro The organizational structures within a company can be the determining factor if a business can run efficiently or run chaotically into ruin. The organizational structure is the different hierarchy s and arrangement of authority, roles and duties in an organization. The Cheesecake factory has a very effective organizational structure which allows for its operations to run smoothly and enables the Cheesecake factory to be one of the highest earning restaurant chains. The structure contains three main levels. The first and highest level is the board of directors which contains 7 members, including the CEO David Overton and 6 directors. The next level of hierarchy called N 1 contains 7 levels including the CFO, President, Area Operations, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a centralized system, where decisions and recommendations come from the top down. However it is also flexible giving any employee the freedom to reach out to an upper level director. This succession of power lets Cheesecake Factory operate smoothly and competently. Each location manager has to go through extensive training to be able to be in that position and is well qualified to look over the whole restaurant. Given the success of Cheesecake factory, I would say they should keep their hierarchal structure the same and if anything they should add higher monitoring of lower levels. The upper levels seem to operate efficiently, but upon reading employee reviews of working at Cheesecake factory, there were several that were unhappy with their general managers. Many of them claimed that the management was unapproachable, and did not pay attention to the hard work of the employees. It was also said that the managers tend to be overbearing and lack communication skills with employees. Another overarching theme was the inconsistent breaks because they are up to the discretion of the manager. My recommendation would be to invest more in the employees and the directors that are above the general managers to make sure that the employees are satisfied. Promote company values more and participative leadership and more incentive for employees to go above and beyond and focus on team building as opposed to individual competition. In one of the reports they even said themselves that the success of the business is due to happy employees. Our future growth and financial success will be highly dependent on our ability to attract, develop and retain qualified staff members who are capable of successfully managing upscale, high volume casual dining restaurants, and consistently executing our extensive and complex ... Not everyone in this generation is invested in the world surrounding them, and it is truly concerning. To some, conflicts are not considered entirely until they are present where they are. Specifically, this generation s main concern revolves around terrorism, as its presence has been endured frequently throughout this generation. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the start of the article, the author was very straight forward and asserted the concerns at hand. The author does not hold back the truth and directly declared Iran s dangers to show how much of a threat Iran poses. To reveal Iran s power the author simulates fear from the audience especially in the quote that states, One of the most pressing foreign policy challenges facing the world: concerns that Iran could be building a nuclear bomb. As the author was so straight forward as he revealed the downright possibility of a catastrophic bomb, it initiates fear in any reader s mind. Also, because this line was used only in the second sentence, it was effective in asserting a deep rooted problem at hand, and was also quite intimidating. As the author revealed that this threat of a nuclear bomb is only a possibility, the uncertainty of Iran s true intentions also spawns an unease. Any kind of threat as this is alarming even if its authenticity is invalid, especially when it is revealed in such a forthright manner. It is truly frightening that something as powerful as a nuclear bomb, could potentially obliterate a large fraction of some place in the world. The author also incorporated different facts of the deal that were added to entice the audience. Later on in the article the author states, Nonetheless this deal is better than the ... You may have a GPS device which shows you these coordinates, and you could just take a reading from the GPS while at the address and note down the coordinates. There are also a number of software packages out there which provide this conversion, but you don t particularly need to buy one of those geocoders unless you need to geocode a large number of addresses. (Digital Maps API also provides geocoding of this sort, although it may not be as user friendly to those unfamiliar with programming, and the service limits you to a certain number of requests per time period.) There are always certain tidbits of information that people just can t seem to remember in the form they are presented. The largest of these temples was by far the Templo Mayor or Great Pyramid stood at the centre of Tenochtitlan. Standing at 90 feet high it consisted of two step pyramids side by side and a smaller pyramid specifically devoted to Quetzalcoatl (feathered serpent god). Over the course of around 200 years starting in 1325, the Templo Mayor was reconstructed seven times due to new leaders ruling Tenochtitlan. These pyramids represented two mountains that were sacred to the Aztecs, Tonacatepetl and Hill of Coatepec. Tonacatepetl or Hill of Sustenance s main deity was Tlaloc (god of fertility and water). The Hill of Coatepec was the birthplace of Huitzilopochtli. This is important, as Huitzilopochtli was the Aztec god of war, sun and most importantly human sacrifice; he was also patron of Tenochtitlan. The combination of these gods on Templo Mayor represents atl tlachinolli meaning burnt water, which indicated warfare helping the Aztecs to acquire power and wealth. • 40. Jfk Inaugural Address Rhetorical Analysis On a cold January afternoon in 1961 John Fitzgerald Kennedy delivered one of the shortest but most empowering inaugural addresses. Kennedy won by the smallest margin ever and to this day was the youngest and the only Roman Catholic ever elected U.S. president. With the victory of World War II behind the US and the fear of nuclear warfare with the Soviet Union looming Kennedy faced a difficult task. Kennedy was faced with the task of convincing the American people that he was fit to be leader. John F. Kennedy s use of rhetoric devices and persuasive appeals made in his Inaugural Address convince the citizens of his ability to be chief executive. One of the rhetoric devices used often in Kennedy s speech was the use of parallel structures. A parallel structure also called parallelism is defined as the repetition of a chosen grammatical form within a sentence. An example of a parallel structure would be To show kindness is praiseworthy; to show hatred is evil . Some examples of parallel structures in Kennedy s inaugural address speech are: For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. , If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich. and Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate . Kennedy used parallel structures to align related ideas and to make it more understandable for both readers and listeners. By using a parallel ... Allowing students to be able to take their phones or devices wherever they want in today s society. Thus bringing forward the issue of cell phone distraction in the classroom. Concerns about cell phones in the classrooms are also grounded in what we know about teenage brains, including the inability to concentrate while multi tasking and possibly long term effects on overall health (12) Multitasking is hard enough and if teens are doing this in the classroom that means that kids are not learning enough while staring at their phones while the teacher is teaching. Having said this a study from Pew research center stated that 78 percent of teens check their devices hourly , this is insane. If that is true that means on average a student will at least look at her/his device once per class period. As being a student in high school i find this to be very true. Another study from Pew Research center stated that 50% of teens 13 18 feel addicted to their phones , this means that means separating from their phones will be tough. The reason i am writing about this topic is to inform people about this epidemic and i am stating why this needs to be fixed. Phones being allowed in the classroom are tempting for students. Students feel a vibration in their pockets and feel the need to check their phones. Apps for example snapchat will flash the camera light when the student receives a snap from someone. A research from Pew Research center asked a teacher what her thoughts were on the issue.
